Do not hesitate to go to this museum if you like to read, like English and/or if you are into love stories. It’s a museum in which there are objects people have given them accompanied with the story of it. Some of them are truly emotional to read, and you will relate somehow with at least some of the stories (there are some about family, not only couples). Even though they say you take from 45min to 1h, I was so involved with the stories, I just lost track of time and spent 2h there, reading and understanding. There’s a book you can write there, it’s a great moment to let go, and there’s also a bar. Great experience, it was my first stop in Zagreb and I definitely say you shouldn’t skip it if you like reading!

Nice place some stories made me laugh and some were sad. Worth a visit. The belongings of lovers is well intact and maintained. The coffee shop has awesome ice latte and cocoa milk for kids. Overall great experience and very relatable to the young generation.

Spent about an hour to 90 min browsing this unique museum. Basically a collection of items from around the world representing some facet of a failed relationship along with an accompanying story. It really is about the stories rather than the items - stories range from humorous to incredibly poignant. There was no wait to get in at about 10:30 on a Sunday, but the small museum quickly filled with people. There was a toilet on site along with a gift shop that seemed a bit pricey and a coffee shop.

*Baby stroller friendly location*. First I wasn’t sure to go or not. It was pouring rain in Zagreb and at first it was just a place to hide in to skip the rain. But ot turned out to be a must visit musuem. Lots of fun/touching/interesting past relationship stories. Would definitely recommend it. The girls in the reception are very polite and the cafe has good coffee.

This is a roving exhibit that goes around the world. The idea here is to exhibit items that signify love lost and tell their story. And these stories come from around the world. Some of the stories are quite quirky while others are down right sad to read.

Not a typical museum. The personal stories were interesting, funny, touching, sad, weird, and gross at different points. I enjoyed my visit more than I expected. Cool souvenirs, too. I disagree with previous comments claiming that it's small. I read every story and felt like if there were more, it would've been too much

Absolutely fantastic! From being on the verge of tears, laughing and being absolutely shocked. If you wander through the entire museum (which I recommend) it’ll take you about an hour. Cost is 50kn. Each sign is in English and Croatian but a visitor book is provided if you do not speak these languages. Toilets and a cafe inside the museum. Great gift shop, including a book which has more objects not in the museum. Definitely recommend for anyone in Zagreb.

A very surprising museum. First of all, relatively cheap, with prices being €7 for adults and just €5,50 for students. I spent a solid 1+ hour inside and instead of my expectations of the museum just being about toxic or broken romantic relationships, the museum actually sheds light on very interesting other themes in an interesting way. The exhibition consists of personal stories that revolve around anything from romance, parental love, family dilemmas/losses to dramatic losses as a result of war. All in all a very interesting and 'enjoyfull' experience and an assured recommendation for anyone looking for an interesting/alternative museum in Zagreb :)

Despite its size, no one can deny how iconic the church is. This church in the old town Zagreb shows its signature checker patterns on its roof tiles along with the crests. It’s such as shame that the church is not open for public visiting. It would be very interesting to see the interiors of the church

A smallish and fairly simple gothic church with a baroque tower. The church is known mostly for it's colorful tiled roof that sports two coats-of-arms. It's located between government buildings and was entirely closed off in the July of 2021. An ornate side gate decorated with a number of statues is the highlight of the entire structure. The church is not a cathedral, but one of the oldest churches in the city

One of the best known rooftops in Zagreb. It's worth visiting. I didn't have a chance to visit inside.

This is a superb building with the most striking of designs. Highly recognisable, near the Stone Gate and in the old town it is well worth a look for a few hours. This is a beautiful town and this building was one of the most memorable parts of Croatia.

The tiled roof presents two historic emblems. One is of the former Kingdom of Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia. The second represents Zagreb, the city of wide-open gates, always open to visitors and new citizens. For many people, Saint Mark's Church has also a special emotional value, especially if they entered the marriage in this particular church.

Symbol of the city. Everyone must to see. Unfortunately very often it's closed and entrance is not possible, so I cannot describe interior. It's very close to other attractions, so even if it's closed, it's worth taking a walk around the church.

The cathedral is very nice and absolutely worth visiting. At the moment they are restoring many things (because of an earthquake damage 2 years ago I think) and that’s why you can’t go in. The platform in front of the cathedral is nice for pictures and to the city center square it’s not far to walk! Nice place.

In 1093 when King Ladislaus I of Hungary (1040-1095) moved the bishop's chair from Sisak to Zagreb, he proclaimed the existing church as a cathedral. Construction on the cathedral started shortly after his death and was finished in 1217 and consecrated by king Andrew II of Hungary. The building was destroyed by the Mongols in 1242 but rebuilt by bishop Timothy (1263–1287) a few years later. At the end of the 15th century, the Ottoman Empire invaded Croatia, triggering the construction of fortification walls around the cathedral, some of which are still intact. In the 17th century, a single fortified renaissance watchtower was erected on the south side and was used as a military observation point, because of the Ottoman threat. The cathedral was severely damaged in the 1880 Zagreb earthquake. The main nave collapsed and the individual tower was damaged beyond repair. The restoration-reconstruction of the cathedral in Neo-Gothic style was led by Hermann Bollé, bringing the cathedral to its present form. As part of that restoration, two spires 104 m (341 ft) high were raised on the western side, both of which are now in the process of being restored as part of an extensive general restoration of the cathedral. The cathedral is not open for the public (due to renovation work; an earthquake made some massive damages in 2020) but you can still see it greatness.

Imposing and amazing work of art, dedication and effort. Its hard to imagine how such beautiful yet huge structures were created in those days. The faith and commitment seems impregnable.

It's a beautiful cathedral, but there is no entry allowed, since it's under reconstruction ( because of the earthquake that hit Croatia in 2020). Still, it's a must see when coming to Zagreb.

Was so nice to be there, I had been in the illusion museum in Zurich and the experience was very similar and completely good, the price is really cheap, and the staff were really nice with us, so if you come to Zagreb I recommend to visit that museum! The only thing that I didn’t like was the noise because was to full of people, there were a lot of kids screaming and hitting things

Another small but excellent for-profit Zagreb museum. A good camera is critical as half the exhibits are essentially photo spots. Staff wipe down glass panels and mirrors regularly such that guests get clear and handprint-free photos. Gift shop has an excellent and affordable selection of wooden brain teasers.

9/7/23 A fun spot for photographers, groups of friends, people with kids ... um, everybody! Two floors of high-quality optical illusions.

This was my first visit to Muzej Ilusija (Musium of Illusions) with my family. It is very little to say that we were very exciting. It was very crowded. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get inside due to Covid-19 measures. For tourist standards prices are normal. But for the domestic customers I would say they are maybe a little bit too high. There are a lots of things to see. Watching all those kids running and laughing you see how much they enjoy being there. And that is the point. There are many interesting things to see and what I love the most is description on everything explaining the illusion you are seeing. So, this is definitly some to go and see while visiting Zagreb.

If you're looking for a fun, interactive place for kids, this spot is definitely worth checking out! Although the space is on the smaller side, the activities and hands-on exhibits will keep your little ones entertained for hours. And if you're in need of an indoor activity, this place is a great option! While the price might be a bit steep for the size, it's worth it for the educational and entertaining experience. So, pack up the kids and head on over for a day of fun and learning!

This was a nice stop to make while walking around Zagreb. Perfect for the kids. They had a blast. It’s air conditioned on the inside and they had clean toilets. Also always a great find when visiting and sight seeing all day. Overall, fun for the whole family. Can be done in about an hour.

We were visiting from the States and scheduled to go ice skating with friends, but it was too crowded, so we decided to check out the Museum of Illusions! This was a great interactive exhibit for families, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Interesting visit. Has a lovely basic set of optical illusions and puzzles to make your brain work a bit. There are some activities you can do with your partner or a kid and make some wonderful pictures together.

This is a fun place, the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I've been to many of these before around the World. I think that soon every major large tourist city will have one of these. But I like the way this place is presented, each display has a notice (also in English) describing "what to do" and "what's going on", in other words explaining how the brain is deceived. You can get involved in some of the illusions like "your head on a platter". I think a great place to bring kids for entertainment. At reception you have a variety of puzzles you can try, and buy. Be careful with the "revolving tunnel" really messed with my head. As I say, the only reason I don't give 5 stars is that I've seen most of this before in other places.

This Park and Zoo are one of the best things to do in Zagreb! Easy tram ride to get there. Tram ticket is very cheap and trams are nice. Park is huge with wonderful views, wide trails, lakes, pavilions, hills and valleys, and a free Zoo to boot! Lots of space for dogs to run, and kids too. You will love it!

Easily the best park in Zagreb and also the oldest (founded in 1787) and biggest (780 acres). I love the variety of landscapes present here; from wide open meadows, numerous lakes and wonderful woodland. Even on a busy weekend you can get away from the crowds if you head into the woods in the heart of this park. There is a nice Caffè on the hill with good views and plenty of benches dotted around the park to sit and relax.

Park is huge and great runaway from city crowd. Located near to center and close to stadion it is great solution for all day walk. After park go to ZOO and fish on a coffe or lunch in the restaurants that are close to the park

An unexpected piece of nature in the city center Maksimir is a very nice park, with many routes and various nice views. Invaluable add to an already nice city like Zagreb, as this park gives the opportunity to relax and cool from the heat, while taking a walk under the trees. I really loved it, congratulations to the Zagreb citizens and the municipality also for being able to keep it clean as I saw it.

Nice, big. The children playground is very muddy and there are not so many child slides, swings, as might expacted.☹ but very crowdy and nice to walk there.😀 thank you Zagreb.

The best park in Zagreb! The place is like jungle, after you ender you forgot that you are still in a city! Inside you can find cafeteria's, restaurant and patisseries in different areas of the Park. During summer time there is a lot of shade perfect for activities, picnic or just time to relax.. For the kids also in the area they have a Zoo!

Very scenic park. It pretty much has it all. There are several cafes there. There are ponds or lakes depending on your interpretation of them. There are completely secluded trails. There are also well lit areas for walks.

Service, food, experience an absolute 5 star all around. I brought my wife here because I went somewhere prior and left hungry. Had a wonderful time here and the lamb shank was amazing with a great flavor and the wine and all around was superb! Kudos to our server he the absolute best in making sure we were happy!

This was the first place we wanted to go when we came into Zagreb. Excellent food, excellent service. The representation of Croatian regional and local food and dishes is brilliant. The quality and cook of the meat was especially impressive. Our server was knowledgeable, humored, and very professional. The space is gorgeous and a pleasure to eat in. Vinodol does a great job presenting the best of Zagreb. We will be back.

The ambiance is nice but could be improved. The waitress was fantastic, very nice and attentive. The entree with fish was very nice and the truffel pasta delicious. The Monkfish was perfectly prepared and very good. The lamb shank however....that should have been cooked longer and.. it was not lamb. The taste was far too strong to be lamb and more like mutton.

A classic restaurant offering mostly meat dishes. The service is solid. They have a big terrace, but it is better to be inside during extreme weather conditions. The food is tasty, unfortunately there is only one vegan meal - an appetizer. However, it is very good. No non-dairy coffee available. Wheelchair accessible.

Service was very slow in the beginning, and we were ignored for a good 20 mins along with the couple next to us, but after they got a bit less busy (had a big group?), the waiter was very helpful and did his best to make up for it, which was nice of him. His suggestion for the red mullet marinade was great. This dish didn’t look the cutest, but was my favourite. Truffle pasta was solid and the Zagreb cutlet was crispy and tasty. Price is extremely reasonable. Overall a pleasant casual dinner on my first night in Zagreb :)

Cozy, reasonable pricing in terms of quality provided. The staff was very professional, kind and forthcoming. Food was fresh and very tasty, as expected. The wine selection is very extensive, but could use a bit of guidance from the staff, as the list might feel overwhelming.

Solid place. Food was tasty, the service good but a little bit slow. The place is crowded, and my Zagreb friends say it’s consistent in quality. I wasn’t blown away with what I ordered, but it was perfectly ok, and maybe some other dish would be a better choice.

We had a first meal in Croatia here and all of my family liked it! Even though we made a reservation just around the corner, they reacted immediately. Thanks to the perfect and kind recommendation, we enjoyed local food and wine. Thank you, Tony! Little bit pricey but I think it worth it because of the lovely atmosphere and great service.

The restaurant is located in a cross, small and narrow street. Owns a garden, but at lunch time it is impossible to find a free table. The food did not delight me although the locals recommended this restaurant as one of the better in town. The chicken soup was too hot, it had mostly carrots, very few noodles, and no trace of chicken. In the end I didn't even eat the soup because it didn't cool down even after 10 minutes. The veal was ok, but the arranging was awful as you can see in the picture (no comments). Tagliatelle with prawns was good, and with octopus the sauce is too sweet and inedible. Salads could be better. The white wine of the house is mediocre. The ambience of the restaurant is quite boring, more imagination is needed to arrange the space. Payment is by card or cash. I would not recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner.

3.5 stars all traditional local and international food are here. I think this restaurant is recommended by many locals. It is also located in the heart of downtown so very convenient to get there. The food is good. the black risotto is my recommendation, or štrukli. price is reasonable. Service can be little slow during prime time.

Best bang for your buck! We were recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint at all. The waiter was really nice and helpful at recommendations to try. We ordered all separate dishes and they were delicious and very large portions. My meal was very good and I really enjoyed and was very full!! Great place! We actually came back on our last day for lunch!! The only dislike is we chose to sit outside for our second time there but all the tables around us were smoking. Personally I do not like smell of smoke and also it against the law where I am from to eat and smoke, so we asked to move inside which was a little disappointing since the outside sitting is the best.

Nice place to eat for a good price. They offer great pizza. Octopus Salad is on a menu too. Don't forget to order homemade Beef Soup.

LOCATION & ATMOSPHERE In the very city center, 1 minute of walking from the main square. They have a really nice terrace and inside space which is okay, nothing special. SERVICE In a rush but they try to give their best. For example, my friend ordered a glass of water 4 times and managed to get it after around 10 minutes. At least they try. PRICE Very affordable prices when we take location into consideration. FOOD I took lasagne “Nokturno” which were plain and nothin special, really. My friend who ordered soup and main dish got them at the same time so the main dish had an opportunity to get cold while he was eating the soup. My second friend ordered one meal but got another, yet they apologized and corrected it so all good. OVERALL This is a well known average quality cheap prices place to eat in the city center. If you are a poor tourist, feel free to come, you will not pay that much. If you are looking for something more, skip this.

I ordered the shrimp pizza which had a nice fluffy dough and high quality toppings. Although the Nokturno restaurant is situated in a highly touristy area of Zagreb, the prices were actually pretty affordable. The waiters were pretty cold so you might not really feel welcome here. But they are very fast and efficient. So a good place for a quick and good eat but maybe not so much for a romantic dinner.

Good pizza place. Big portion and tasty one. Mine Margarita was just a little bit salty one. Service is fast and adequate. Prices are affordable. Aspiration was making our stay a little bit windy inside. Furniture needs an update. Otherwise I can teccomend the place for a fast beer, wine or pizza, of course. Enjoy.

A large restaurant located in a dining alley overlooking the Zagreb Cathedral. There is also a large space outside. The food quality and taste are quite good, especially the pizza is great. Italian restaurant-level taste. Another advantage of this place is that it has a variety of menus. The food comes out quickly and the staff are friendly.

Nice location eating outside at tables on a stepped terrace designed to overcome the slope of this little pedestrian street. The food is really good and also reasonably priced. I had the Mexican salad as a main course which was delicious.

The food here is very good! Also there is a lot of seating, both inside and outside. If there is any place available, I would recommend taking a place outside. It feels very special to be eating on one of the lifted platforms in the middle of a narrow street. The staff is kind and will serve you well. It's also a inexpensive place, you will get a lot of good food for a small price.

Friendly waiter, nice atmosphere, and good food. Burger was delicious, but if you like spicy add Tabasco and chilli powder to kick it up a notch. Price was pretty good as well, won't break the bank at all.

A beautiful setting along a narrow path which leads you up to the cathedral, such a sight at night time! our waiter spoke English and was very attentive. service was fast. menu was huge so took is time to choose! in the end we got the ribs, spaghetti, turkey and burger. all was delicious! clean toilets located inside.

Our waiter was adorable, made us very comfortable. Wile waiting for our dishes, we took a bear and a homemade lemonade. We got a table under the shadow in a green garden. The dishes were good, we took one with salty cheese and another with blueberries, both were fire hot, so it’s clear it came just from the oven 🙂

Absolutely delicious Štrukli! We loved it. This is definitely the place to try the traditional Croatian dessert. Ordered the week’s special with sweet cream and figs, such a nice combination.. 🤤 Very friendly service. Thank you!!

Cannot recommend this place enough! Get the truffle paste and the blueberry, they’re the best. Be prepared to wait 25 minutes as they make every dish fresh from scratch. And try to get there early to get the front outdoor seating - it’s a bit stuffy and quiet in the back.

Stumbled across this gem! Kind staff, perfect dish for a chilly and rainy day. It is similar to a meatless lasagna. We left a little hungry still but that could be just from walking all day. We tried the truffle and salty cheese flavor. Amazing!! Also a great price. Two people paid around £16. I would recommend to friends and family in a heartbeat. Clean bathrooms as well.

Incredible spot for strukli, which is a traditional Croatian food made up of pastry dough and ricotta cheese with different fillings. We got the blueberry, truffle, and traditional salty. The blueberry is reminiscent of a stuffed French toast while the savory is more like Mac and cheese. Blueberry was probably our favorite, but we loved them all. There are several places to sit including a cute back patio area. Reasonably priced for a full meal (6-7 euros).

This place came highly recommended as a “MUST”. You could tell by how busy it was that one should not pass. They make the Struk (a cheese dish) which comes sweet or savory. Had the Paprika one and it was tasty. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Food is made fresh and they do advertise a 25 minute wait, so don’t come starting! However, their min lemonade was the true hero. Possibly best one I’ve ever had. Would recommend and come again.

The place was recommended as Croatian cuisine, we wait for our meal 50 mins, because there were a lot of visitors. Strukli are very tasty. Be careful to not burn your fingers when dish arrives, it’s very hot.

I know this is an institution and a traditional dish but I honestly didn't like it (and neither did my Eastern European husband!). The texture was just the same...some sort of soft pasta like thing with loads of cheese and baked. The portion was also quite large and it was for one! Just wishing there was some crispy texture or something to cut through the fat! The restaurant and staff were great, however. You could try other savoury and sweet versions but we only tried the traditional/original. It was also quite expensive for what it is. Sorry..

This is the best place to get your fair share of croatian food. I loved the Strukle with cheese in the oven. I ate one whole dish alone and was also ready to order a second. But i ended up inviting my friend hehe. Be careful as you might have to reserve. But i was lucky and got in without even having to queue. The only downside is that you have to wait like 35 min for your order. Recommended.

Highly recommend this place when coming to Zagreb. They serve only štrukli, a local dish. They come in savory (salty cheese, pepper, etc) and sweet (blueberry, etc) varieties. The food is affordable, filling, delicious, and comforting on a cold rainy day. They also have a beer, wine, coffee list. Other reviews commented about the wait but for small parties when I went mid afternoon on a Sunday, wait was minimal.

We had dinner in the very atmospheric cellar. The waiter is a very enthusiastic man who you could easily see has passion for what he does. (And knows much about his wines!). We had a typical Croatian starter and as a main we had authentically rolled truffle pasta. It was great!

I have a reservation online for 4 people. A really nice evening with delicious dishes and crozy atmosphere. The beef steak was perfectly marinated and tender. The service is trully professional and his recommendations about the food and local rose wine just amazed us. Sadly that we could not give the lovely waiter guy some tip for his wonderful service cause we didn't have any cash with us and you could not give the tip with cardpayment.

We visited this restaurant during Tjedan restorana. The menu was interesting, and tasty. Unfortunately, it looked like it was written by a 10-year old. The soup was a little bit bland, it missed salt. The other food (gnocchi with turkey, and swordfish with sweet potato) was very tasty and had a nice texture. The service is quick and friendly. Too bad that the terrace didn't work, altough the weather was nice.

My family ate dinner here when we were in Zagreb a few weeks ago and this dinner was honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip! The food and wine were great. The only thing better than the food was the service!! Peter was our server and he was AMAZING. So kind and helpful with recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again in the future!

A good place to have an aesthetic lunch or dinner. The restaurant has a Michelin awards and you can feel it. The dishes are very tasty and refined. Nice interior. The staff is polite. A couple of times there were no hostesses at the entrance. But it does not affect the overall experience.

For me this was the best food I had in Zagreb. Definitely not authentic Croatian cuisine but it's still absolutely excellent. The portions were more than generous and everyone was very caring and polite. Most surprisingly, the prices were really not high since we ate for two people with only 350 kn. Absolutely no complaints and I strongly recommend this restaurant for anybody who wants some nice Italian in their Zagreb experience.

The host at the door was very friendly and guided us to a lovely terrace. The waiter on the other hand greeted and took orders of the table seated after and next to us before acknowledging we had been seated. Photos provided of our drinks and food. The truffle fettuccine was some of the best we’ve tasted, portion size was perfect! The bruschetta was tasty but was the smallest portion I have seen (one baguette piece). The eggplant parmigiana was very tasty! The truffle mozzarella appetizer was fine, nothing special. My wine was less than a three oz pour and our cocktail had more ice than liquid. We decided to visit another location for dinner.

Boban has consistently been one of my favorite restaurants in Zagreb. Service, wine selection, quality of food and fair pricing all contribute to a great experience. The atmosphere at this restaurant is also top notch. Very highly recommended!

Good fine dining restaurant in Zagreb. Food and service is always superb. Pricy but worth it. The burrata of the day wasn’t of my favourite ones, but interesting. Meat and pasta are delicious!

Nice food. Really enjoyed the beefsteak carpaccio. We had a reservation which was lucky as it looked like it was very popular.. a little unexpected for a midweek dinner. Cocktails were nice too - very pretty and not watered down thankfully! Also a great atmosphere. We sat indoors in an annex which was nicely decorated

We came in without reservation and the team were kind enough to open a table for us. It’s a pleasant quaint bistro - we had the seafood risotto and the truffle linguine. Both were cooked perfectly!
