The most breathtaking view of El Capitan I’ve seen. I visited this place for the first time and it was an amazing experience. Every second I’ve spent there in Yosemite Valley was wonderful and the views are absolutely stunning and beautiful. The drive was also amazing as we can see the massive foliage of the trees and winding roads. The tunnel view is the most visited and popular place in Yosemite valley. It’d take at least 3 days to cover the entire valley with its ever lasting vistas and view points but one can cover the popular spots in a day. I’d definitely recommend a visit. 🙂

You need to be prepared for this as you drive in, as its right at the mouth of the tunnel. This is somewhere I would highly recommend stopping as it gives the most fantastic views of the whole valley. If you get the sun right, this is a wonderous view. It does get very busy and there are not many parking spots, so best to get here early if you can. My pics are from ~4pm (going in) and ~9am (going out) in June.

I had the most beautiful day of hiking at Yosemite National Park. It rained in the morning. It was sunny in the afternoon, with a speck of a rainbow. There were tons of people. I will always come back over again to visit all parts of this park. Thanks, Mother Nature!

This is one of the best viewpoints in the park. It can get crowded but has 2 car parks. There is a small trail beside the car park which can give some more undisturbed views. Would highly recommend going here when in Yosemite.

Tunnel View will take your breathe away. It is a must stop vista point to take a great photo looking down Yosemite Valley. The best time to come by will be sunset as the sun will be behind you. It is awesome to get a view like this without having to bike or hike for hours from the valley.

A mandatory stop if you are in Yosemite. Breath taking views giving you a glimpse of the magnanimous Yosemite. Apart from being a historic landmark, this place is mesmerizing because of dynamically changing weather that make each view brilliant. We were lucky to witness clouds, rains and sun over the tunnel view in the 30 minutes we were around. Truly captivating.

This hike is fairly difficult with the elevation gain but the views are definitely worth it! Definitely recommend starting early cause the parking lots will definitely fill up even with the reservation system in place. Bring plenty of water and take some lunch to enjoy on the top of the falls overlook. Great trail for the solo traveler/photographer!

Seasonal waterfall but when it is flowing it is one of the most iconic!! During spring snow melt ice flows down the creek! Often crowded but great pics!

It's not easy hiking to the top of the waterfall (upper falls). Very challenging... Especially when we are out of shape. Me and my girlfriend would constantly take breaks. Hills were really steep, and some climbing as well. As soon as we reached to the top, it was worth it! I immediately jumped in the river to refresh myself. The river was nice and cold and the view from the top was beautiful. Going down was the easiest part. If a chubby guy like me can do it, so can you. Just take your time and don't rush it.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. Definitely take a walk in the valley - it is just gorgeous. I drove to the El Capitan meadow - I recommend doing it - you can take a perfect picture of the mountain. I also suggest taking one of the trails up. I went up the Waterfall trail, to El Capitan, and Eagle Peak. El Captain summit is a nice flat surface, where you can rest under one of the trees that ffer shadow from the sun. The view from Eagle Peak is definitely better. In June there is still snow on far away mountains. I talked to one of the guides, which confirmed this was a good choice if you had just a day there. Take a minute in the park welcoming center in the village and buy yourself a souvenir. It's totally worth it to drive 4 hours from San Francisco. Even though I only had a day and a half there.

Fantastic get away from city life. The falls and the park has so much to offer. A walk through the giant sequois makes a man feel so small compared to the trees. It's a wonderful trip to spend some time with nature.

Yosemite National Park is an AWESOME place to visit when in California. Approximately only 7.5 hours from San Diego and appx. 2 hours from San Francisco. My 1st time visiting with my 12 year old son; thanks to my best friend Steve and his sons. Have Great water proof hiking boots if you take the Vernal Falls / Mist Trails hike. There was a deluge of water from the falls this year (2023). The steps down from Vernal Falls Mist Trail was completely covered in water. It paid off investing in quality H2O proof boots for our 7+ mile hike! Best times to visit are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It is crowded on most other days beginning at 8 a.m. at the Ranger Station entrance. It is a MUST SEE on your list of places to visit while in California🙏

It is the biggest reason that attraction in the Yosemite National Park! Millions people visit this falls a year. Specifically for the year of 2023 due to the record high rainfall last winter! There are many waterfalls that you can visit! The Lower Yosemite falls are the most easy one and visited the most! Vernal falls are bit challenging, you needed to get prepared for! Nevada falls are further down the Mist trail which is really worth the walk and climb! We enjoyed all our visits to Yosemite no matter what season or the volume or conditions of the waterfall! It’s just so beautiful and breathtaking! Just can’t wait to go again!

A quick .3 mile walk from the main road. First fall in route. It gets pretty windy and wet the closer you get, ponchos are handy

The Yosemite Valley is truly breathtaking. from the Tunnel you can view the whole valley, Bridelveil Fall and the famouse Half Dome in the background. Truly worth visiting.

Bridalveil fall is the first water fall you will see in Yosemite National park. The water depends on the season. Unfortunately, it was a little big drought when we visited there this summer. However, it’s still worth visiting.

It's under construction, so I can't get to the very close, but if you go up a little more from one place, you can go to a good place to take pictures, so hope you can stop by and take a picture. Priceless spot

****YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK~~CALIFORNIA **** Spectacular Waterfall! I loved everything about Yosemite National Park located in Mariposa county, Northern California. It was a trip worth waiting for. It is the Grand Valley since 1864 and an icon of America’s National Parks. PS… We did not see Yosemite Sam!!

We visited in March. It's so hard describe in words.. it was so magical with snow everywhere and the falls flowing at its maximum capacity. It was not so crowded . Park had open after a brief closure due to heavy rains, only the arch rock entrance was open.

Stunning and exhilarating experience to summit half dome. Permit needed for Half dome. If you’re a solo hiker without a permit, I’ve seen people wait at the base of half dome with the ranger until you meet a groups that has a spare permit. I climbed the cables with no gloves and found it fine. I tried using disposable latex gloves initially but found it didn’t help much, and you get sweaty in the rubber gloves. Took me 10 hours round trip.

I recently had the opportunity to embark on the Half Dome trekking adventure, and I am still in awe of the extraordinary experience it provided. The best time to climb Half Dome is sunrise and sunset. You get amazing view of the golden hour glow, beat the heat and less crowd. I was there at both time and there was nobody at the cables. Recommended to camp at Little Yosemite campground. There are plenty of natural water along the trail, so bring your portable filter. Gloves are a must for cable climbing

Half dome is called iconic and majestic for a reason and it's cent percent correct. The hike to the base of the dome is through amazing vernal falls, through wet steep steps, make sure to have gripping shoes and a jacket to be dry. Then you reach the beautiful Nevada falls, rocky terrain with steep ascent. Then through Merced river, the last source of drinking water you reach little Yosemite valley and then after approx. 2.5 miles you reach the last tree lines and then onto the subdome and to the base of half dome or cable region. Then the climb is 45 degrees - 60 degrees steep which is done with the help of cables, there is a permit season (may-15 to first snow fall) and the cables are down which means you don't need a permit to hike the half dome. The views from the top are some of the beautiful views of the park one can ever witness. The journey and the climb is an enthralling experience.

We're a family of hikers (including our kids that summited Half Dome with us when they were 7 & 8 in Aug 2021 and did it again Aug 2022) so this review will not be indicative of average family hiking. However for kiddos that have a happy place out on the trail, this hike was an exceptional family activity. Be sure to pack plenty of water as the source along the trail ends when you split away from the Merced River at Little Yosemite. We took 2.5L-3L each and, with the kids, it took 12.5hrs RT (including rest stops) to do the 17.9 mile (up the Mist Trail & back on the John Muir Trail), 4800' elevation gain to the top and back with a long break at the top of Half Dome. I recommend hitting the trail earlier than 7am for ample time to make it up to the summit and back, although pre-dawn would be ideal to stay cool and see VIEWS of dawn. Also plan for shade or stop in the shade, even though this trail has sections that super shady. Be smart! Parking can fill up quickly so we just stayed parked at the campground and hiked to the Happy Isles Trailhead...could bike there and leave bikes at the bike rack. Once past the initial paved trail, you have one last stop for filtered water and there's a restroom. If you're going up the Mist Trail, this isn't the last restroom. This is where the trail splits into the Mist Trail or the John Muir Trail. Many day hikers choose to go up the beautiful Mist Trail and down the longer John Muir Trail. This is what we did because of ME...up the shorter, steep route of the Mist Trail and down the longer, gradual decline of the JMT. (But "me" is also now technically 40½ with 5 total ACL reconstruction/medial meniscus repair surgeries on both knees, breast cancer survivor, recently healed broken big toe, and a destroyed thyroid...but a determination to stay active and "use it or lose it.") We broke the hike up into 5 sections where we planned to rest/snack up: ☝️top of Vernal Falls (take MANY granite stairs up) ✌️top of Nevada Falls (combo of switchbacks and some stairs; you can rest at the bathroom at the top or veer to the right and follow the trail to the bridge area; this is also the junction of the JMT/Mist trails) 3️⃣ end of Little Yosemite area (although this is where the trail splits away from the Merced River so you may plan an extra stop to load up on water using your water filter) 4️⃣ Sub-Dome where you meet the Ranger to check your cable permits (and YES, they check your cable permits!) DEF recommend resting before starting up the MANY, steep granite stairs up the SubDome! 🖐 Half Dome cables are next, but we don't rest here -- we rest at the TOP OF HALF DOME and enjoy the amazing views almost 9K ft up! When you get back to the bottom...head to the Merced River and put your feet (including knees!) in the water and ENJOY 😉 celebrating your accomplishment! Our fav #halfdometraining hikes were Upper Yosemite Falls because there's VIEWS all over, especially of Half Dome. If you can at least make it to Columbia Rock which is 2mi RT with some elevation gain, it's worth those views!! You may even see a mule deer mid-day like we did! Other fav hikes were Mt Tallac (S Lake Tahoe), but message here or @Matlock.Rock to see how we made Half Dome a family hike!

AN amazing, exhausting and breathtaking (physically and visually) experience. We began our trail at 6am from the trail head parking lot. It was pitch dark but between the 3 of us one flashlight sufficed, also there were a decent number of hikers ahead of us. It's good we got an early start as it gave us enough time to complete the trail before nightfall. At the start of our climb, we met a man who had started the trail the day before but ran out of water (fellow hikers shared their water with him) however as it was getting dark he decided to set up camp along the trail on his descent. The start of our trail and our first motivator (we met a lot of them along the way). We were not alone for very long stretches of time throughout the trail. It took us much longer than we expected but that was primarily on account of the heavy backpacks we carried. The trail is well maintained (Thanks To all those who work tirelessly to maintain it), but it is a steep climb so be prepared. Along the way we met a family of three and the youngest was about 5 years old. This little kid gave us the boost we much needed as we ascended the stone steps. There are 2 paths to pick from, we went for the shorter but steeper one up and took the longer one coming down. Prior to reaching the base of the half dome is the battle of the stairs. Endless number of stairs cut into rock will take you to the base of half dome, this after an exhausting tiring hike to get there. At the base of half dome we met many who decided to turn around which is not necessarily a bad idea. It is better to know one's limitations than to attempt and quit mid dome. Personally I thought the climb was tough to the point of complete exhaustion. The dome is visually intimidating and not recommended for those with fear of heights. When I go again, I will pack light and perhaps it will take me less time as opposed to the 14 hours (with breaks) that it took us the first time around. Research on the climb summed up into points prior to our climb: Drive to trailhead parking From trail head parking, 1/2 m service road to happy isle bridge, Vernal falls: past vernal falls footbridge(water fountains n only flushable toilets) long slippery staircase uphill along river and falls Nevada falls is next. Trail winds through shady forest n stairs constructed of rock n boulders From vernal to Nevada (2 miles) Near top of Nevada (at the split) go left for 1/2 dome After Nevada, past the split, the trail evens out… enjoy before the step ascend begins . This part goes through sequoia trees Subdome at 8000 ft it’s a lot of step n strenuous at the top of sun dome is the base of the dome Climb 1/2 dome cautiously Descend subdome At Nevada falls retrace steps (steeper and shorter) or take Muir trails (less steep but longer) Happy isle bridge Enjoy the outdoors, respect nature and do not litter.

Amazing, beautiful, once in a lifetime experience. BRING YOUR GLOVES FOR THE CLIMB AT THE END! People with a fear of heights will find it very hard to climb up and down. Hike was about 16-17 miles round trip from the trailhead. During the first half, there are 3 bathrooms on the way, minus the trailhead. There are no more after the Little Yosemite Valley. We left curry village around 5:30, made it to the top around 1 pm. We hiked slowly, taking our time, and many people passed us. Spent around 1-1.5 hours at the top. There are two ropes, and the right is mostly for going up, and the left is mostly for going down. At the start of the going up rocks, a ranger will ask for your permit. You NEED YOUR GLOVE for the rope climb, or your hands will be in pain. There are wooden steps to rest at, but sometimes there are gaps where there are none for a while. Many people were scared coming down that area. I ding that on the way down. Grab tightly to one rope, and you will be ok. Got dark five mins after we reached the bottom, at around 8:30. Very beautiful view at the top. Must go, if your up for it.

One of the most beautiful hikes ever. Challenging but definitely lot of fun. Bring lots of water and some extra. Definitely try not to do it on a hot day like I did when it was 103F. The cables are definitely sketchy in one section but again no fun without a challenge. Good idea to hire a guide if you don’t want to deal with permit paperwork for the cables. Highly recommended for hikers looking for a challenge!!!

Trip Report: Half Dome - Cables Down edition I learned about Half Dome the hour I learned about Yosemite. The iconic, majestic hiking trail that is known to California and worldwide. Permits by lottery season most of the time. For 2 years, I've applied and never won the lottery. For 1 year, I posted, asked and there was no availability of groups going. Half Dome cables are down for the season, which means that the cables are very low to the ground and not at the waist height that's usually used for hikers as handrails. We brought PAS (personal anchor system) and prusiks. We both brought our harnesses and gloves and drove to the park for the adventure. We began hiking at 6:30am from Upper Pines campground and passed Vernal and Nevada falls via Mist Trail. At 10:45, we reached the bottom of the cables. I swallowed a big gulp of my saliva. Wow...this incline is much more than I had imagined. I questioned if I should switch to rock climbing shoes or keep my trail runners and decided to stick with the trail runners (Altras). We put on our harnesses and began the ascend. What an unbelievable and incredible experience it was. Surprisingly, the rocks felt very sticky and my gloves provided steady grip with the cables. I felt pretty secure and put on my PAS 25% in. The cable portion was a short segment but it took about 45 minutes to climb to the top. My heart was pumping from the adrenaline, my palms were sweaty and I was so happy to make it to the top. After a lunch break and photos, we continued with the decent and thankfully it was breezy. I kissed the ground when I landed two foot on solid ground and at the moment, my heart was filled completely with pure happiness. We arrived back at the campground just at dawn at 5:30pm. Half dome from Upper Pines: 17.5 miles/5800 ft gain Moving time: 7 hours Cables down No permits needed Harness and gloves Half dome completed Would do it again For more photos/videos, or questions. This is the icon on Yosemite. Scaling it will require a hike over 16 miles long and up over 4,800 feet! It's totally worth it. The cables to the top of Half Dome are famous for being crazy steep because they are. The top is enormous and gives you a view of the entire park in any direction. You need a permit to hike to the top so be sure to enter that in March or enter the daily lotteries.

Very picturesque and if the sun's out, likely to see a rainbow in the mist! 🌈 According to my tracker, it's 2.47 miles to the top of Vernal Falls from Lower Pines Campground and it took us about an hour (pace of 35:48 min/mi). (To train for it, do your weighted step lunges and good cardio is incline hiking/walking or the stairs climber!) Because of ME...we went up the shorter, steep route of the Mist Trail and down the longer, gradual decline of the JMT for our RT Half Dome hike. Breathtaking views. Visited in May 2023. Sheer volume of the water falling from the top of Vernal falls and flowing into the Merced river after of the historic snow season is mind blowing. Trail is not difficult one usually. But when water flow is high then you will get completely soaked in the icy cold mist of the Vernal falls. Also the trail has steep steps which can get wet so it’s strongly advisable to not take the same route coming back but rather take slightly longer but safer Jon Muir trail. Must visit if you can hike. Restrooms are available near the bridge. Good places to rest as well. If you don’t feel like going to the top of the fall then you can still awesome views from the bridge as well as from the bottom of the fall.

A spectacular water falls in Yosemite. We visited during 2021 Thanksgiving. Here are few highlights 1. The total duration to reach top is around 1 hour 45 minutes with small breaks 2. Can park car down at campground 3. Walk towards Happy isles bridge 4. Start trekking in Mist trail head 5. It is most of the road is paved 6. After 3/4th of trail you to climb with steps 7. Take more water with you 8. During Spring and fall season these steps will be wet so have to be carful 9. It’s worth reaching at top

I hiked the mist trail in June 2023 and had a truly unforgettable experience as the Yosemite falls were extra full and powerful. I was soaked by the time I got to the top of the falls, but it was actually the most amazing part of the experience that made it truly one of a kind!! If there's only one hike you were to do at Yosemite, I believe it should be the mist trail hike... Hope you get to see the rainbow! 🌈 P.s. the parking does fill up very quickly, so I would recommend getting to the park as early in the morning as possible.

Vernal Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Yosemite Valley, but you won’t get to it them from the valley floor. From Happy Trails, hike along the extremely popular John Muir trail and then Mist Trail. It will take you 2.5 miles round trip and 1,040ft elevation gain. Note that the parking lot is a further half mile from the Happy Trails trailhead. This hiking route follows the canyon cut out by the fast flowing river, past the towering Grizzly Peak and up many stone steps carved out of the rock by trailmakers of the past. The views of Vernal Falls get better and better, until you’re finally climbing up sheer rock trails – thankfully protected by handrails – before reaching the top of the falls and the Emerald Pool. Catch your breath and admire the views from the flat expanses of granite before heading back down. There are restrooms up here. Also, as inviting as it looks please do not disregard the signs and swim in the Emerald Pool – people have died getting swept up by the river and been taken over the falls. This trail is extremely popular. Not only is it the shortest route to these waterfalls, but it’s also the path to the summit of Half Dome. So expect crowds, and do your best to time your visit when you can. As the name suggests, the mist trail can also get very wet. Expect spray from Vernal Falls, and wear footwear which affords you some grip. This trail is also closed in months when icy weather makes the route treacherous.

Whattaaa hike!!!! Must visit when in Yosemite! You cannot miss Mist trail during this season, gushing waterfall is so so unique!!!!

One of the better meals I’ve enjoyed. Our waiter, John, was impeccable. The cocktails were superb. The ribeye I had was one of the best, and I’m very picky. Expensive, but definitely not a ripoff. We will definitely dine here again.

Great place for dinner after a long day hiking in the park. Food is on the pricier side, but it was really good. Lots of ingredients sourced locally. Steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Highly recommend the bread appetizer, the bread is very good and the butter it comes with is delicious. Service was excellent and everything was very clean. Best bathrooms we found in the valley.

Amazing views with exceptional staff, and great food presentation. The food however was only OK, sometimes even decent. Yes, you don't go to Yosemite for the food... but it doesn't need to be so disconnected. I will grant that I am impressed they got a filet mignon to remain tender even though they served it "medium rare" without a single bit of pink remaining.

This experience was horrible. We had reservations for my wife's birthday with a specific table. Everything was confirmed but when got there the only thing they remembered was that we had a reservation. Next was the food, if this stuff was fresh it was definitely not cooked to the proper temperature. Everything was cold, and chewy. We got the tofu and the portobello burger, both had a funny smell and taste. Save yourself money and time go next door to the Basecamp cafe, its over priced but not nearly as bad as this place.

Wow I was super impressed with the vegan food options here. I had no idea that I’ll eat royally when I’m the park. The pineapple upside down cake was out of this world. You must get this if they have it on the menu. I enjoyed the rest of the dishes as well even though the mushrooms were VERY salty. I love salty but this was on the higher end limit even for me. Also the service was a bit slow maybe they were understaffed. Our waiter was literally walking away as I was placing my order.

We made reservations for the Lodge and they said restaurant was closed. We arrived for our stay and restaurant was open but reservation only and has to be made weeks in advance. Be aware if you are planning a trip.

We went in right at 5 and the staff helped us (2 adults and 1 child) get a table with no reservation for 545!!! The food was great and the service was excellent. The space was clean and everyone was well spaced out.

The only thing this place has going for it is location and view. I was pretty excited about a nice dinner during our stay in Yosemite, and I made reservations a month or so in advance. What a huge disappointment. A bread basket costs $6.50. My husband said the bread was Rudy's brand, a par-baked product that was merely ok. They were served with garlic butter, the best part of the meal. I had sweet potato and chickpea fritters. They were not very hot, and certainly not crispy, and there was no discernable sweet potato flavor in them. In fact, they were relatively flavorless. A sad looking ramekin of aioli was on the side, and appeared as though it had been sitting out all day, judging by the skin on top. My husband had chicken with mashed potatoes, which he said wasn't very hot or well seasoned. For dessert we shared a creme brulee. It was thin and watery and had barely any burned sugar on top. This meal cost us $70, and I only ordered an appetizer, and no alcohol. Our server took our order, brought our food, brought our check, and never once asked how the food was. It was like he was embarrassed about the lousy quality of the food. Don't waste your money here. Go to the Mountain Room Lounge, or get a grab and go food from the gift shop.

This place was super worth it. Great food and nice big room to eat in with giant windows to see the waterfall. We definitely enjoyed it. The pork chop and ribeye tenderloin were great, as was a special of chickpea soup. The kids chicken fingers were good too. Definitely get reservations here. Ours were at 5 and we basically walked right in, there was a big line.

The best dining place to go to while at Yosemite. Amazing food selection. Pricey but worth it. Breakfast and Dinner are the best menu and so worth it. Eggs Benedict’s are perfectly cooked and taste really good. Steak is good and they can customize how you want it to be served. Desserts are great especially the key lime cheesecakes. Overall it’s the best, they gave my son a birthday cupcake. Great service. Bottled wine aren’t bad at all. Been wanting stay here because I remember this is the place where Steve Jobs & Laurene Powell got married in 1991.

What a place! After a 20 min wait we got a nice window seat for late lunch. It was nice but if they had more professional food it would definitely be a 5 star. We had the seafood pasta. The food was ok but for bought pasta, the price and all it was not really amazing. Overpriced to say the least. It said it would be a creamy sauce, well it wasn’t. The calamari’s were quite overcooked. Plus for the big portions and doggy bag though. Nice and polite staff. They serve their own water which was really nice!

We ate here for Sunday brunch and had an amazing meal! Our servers were so sweet and kind and helpful (Alec and Dana, if I’m remembering correctly). The food was amazing! And the coffee was incredible. We enjoyed dipping chocolate croissants in it! And the room itself is just gorgeous. Towards the end of our meal, a man started playing piano and he was so talented! A family with kids sat near him And he played a lovely version of “Let it Go”, possibly for the enjoyment of the kids, but I sure loved it too. He also played the Downton Abbey theme beautifully. The Ahwahnee is such a special and stunning building, and it was magical to enjoy a wonderful brunch there.

The dinner reservations are hard to get by but if you are staying in the hotel then their breakfast buffet is not too bad. Their pancakes were good. The buffet collection was diverse but wish the food was a bit more warm.

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, incredible food and service. They have a dress code and the prices are not cheap but you definitely get your money's worth. You really should make a reservation for Saturdays and Sundays.

Eating every single day in restaurants as beeing non stop traveller, used to eat also in expensive restaurants, today I got the worst service ever! Asking for 1 beer and a margharita. Arrived. 5 min. later 3 meat balls arriving. I asked a bottle of red wine, for the meatballs and as I will stay longer and write. John, the joung good looking waiter tells me, that he can't bring the wine until I have finished the drinks!! So I finished in a hurry, awaiting to step 2 and ? Surprise: asking kindly again about the wine, he said, he can't serve any wine as it should be enough for me today !!! I'm asking kindly, if he's trying to patronize me. The answer, this is the law in america, a waiter can do this and if I don't, I loose my job, other waiters were fired even for less !!!!!! I explained him about my europeans origins and customs, but no way. I didn't call the manager, but I tell you, not to go eating to this place, as it seams to have bad reputation. My opinion: John is in the wrong job. I forgot the prices: 10$ for fresh bred, 20$ for 3 meatballs and 2 drinks for 75$ ? Absolutely over prized. Strongly NOT RECCOMENDED!

Iconic location inside the Ahwahnee Hotel. Beautiful high, open beam ceiling and large windows for incredible views. Our lunch (Cobb salad and seafood pasta) was quite good and service was friendly and efficient. They serve Peet’s coffee which is quite good too. In the 30 years that I have been visiting this restaurant, I have never had a disappointing experience. The five tables in the alcove are the best because they are more intimate. They are at the far end of the dining room. The following night we had dinner: Always a great dining experience! The service was excellent and all the waitstaff were friendly. The spinach salad was delicious as were the prime rib and lamb chops. Chocolate ice cream for desert was rich like gelato and was accompanied by biscotti and fresh berries. The setting is incomparable!

Started our morning at the base of Yosemite Falls so this was the closest place for food. We arrived around 9:30 with the place closing at 10. There were about 15 groups of people behind us still when they closed the line at 10. Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5 - So we all ordered the breakfast bundle but received very different amounts of food. The bundle is eggs, protein, potatoes, and a croissant. The first person got a mound of eggs, the second some eggs but mostly the dry shavings of the egg, and we got another pastry since there were no eggs left. We were lucky since the cheese pastry was pretty good but the croissant was dry. The dry shaving of eggs were dry (obviously) and pretty much inedible. They should have given a replacement as well similar to our order. The bacon was pretty good but the sausages were super dry as well Ambience: 5/5 - cafeteria atmosphere but clean and comfortable Service: 1/5 - there is only one person per station and at one point the worker walked away and no one knew what was happening. The person we ordered from was short with us and seemed frustrated that he had to deal with us Value for price: 2/5 - as long as you are here more than an hour before closing and they have sufficient food, should be okay

A great spot for families to eat. The food is a bit pricey for what you get, but seeing as there aren’t a ton of options I didn’t expect it to be cheap. The chicken sandwich was a tad dry but the fries & burger were very good! It is a pretty large spot to eat so that is great for those with larger groups.

Excellent Tuna poke & good-value chicken strips! Fast serve. Cafeteria environment. Good for lunch or snack!

This is a good place to get food with lots of options. You’ll order your food and pay on a touch screen and then wait for your order number to be called. The service is quick even when there is a bit of a line. Lots of seating inside and is usually very clean but I like to find outdoor seating as it can get kind of loud inside. Food options include poke bowls, chicken sandwiches, burgers, pizza (there’s a vegan pizza option), gyro and falafel bowl to name some of them. The Starbucks just opened as well and is right next to base camp.

I’d eaten lunch here a couple times over the years, and the experience was just okay. Today, I ate breakfast here, and the experience was fantastic! The most significant improvement is the kiosk ordering, which completely eliminated all long lines for ordering. After I ordered, a friendly gentleman who appeared to be posted in the lobby just to answer questions and maybe bus tables let me know where to get my self-serve coffee after I finished ordering at the kiosk. The food was ready by the time I got my coffee, and it was all delicious!!—eggs, bacon, country potatoes, a croissant, and short stack of HUGE pancakes. With the coffee, it all came to $20, which I thought was a steal for that amount of food in the Park. Highly recommend breakfast here!

I must say that this place is a safe heaven for lots of tired and hungry people. You can do water refills, charge your phone and eat very decent fast food. Not the best you’ll have but it’s super convenient. Also they have a few vegan options. Must stop here if you’re in the area for multiple days.

Great food options. The chicken sandwiches were amazing. We liked the kiosk order system, and the food was ready quickly. The seating was a bit uncomfortable (we had a high top table with benches).

The interior and exterior design of the lodge was beautiful. I just had a snack here, and it was not bad. The place was teeming with travelers ordering and having lunch. It seems it's almost the only restaurant you can find in Yosemite Valley.

Tasty food. Very friendly staff. Poke bowl felt like a dish from 5 star hotel. Looking at the crowd, we got our food very fast.

My husband and I (from the UK) have been there twice already and going there again tonight. We both absolutely loved our ribeye steaks! We are going to order them again tonight, I guess)). Medium rare was perfect for us. My husband also ordered colossal prawns for his starter once and those were absolutely delicious. Price-wise we found it relatively reasonable compared to $70 we paid for one medium and one small pizza with two beers in Curry village pizza place in the park. So, for us, it was the only place in the valley to have nice dinners. Mind it is also convenient because we are staying in they valley)).

The pizza made it five stars. But since they got rid of pizza and most of their food I have to rate it three since their drinks are the only good thing about the lounge now… the inconvenience of bringing food from another restaurant was a hastily. Below was my favorite drink the Glacier Martini.

The steaks were pretty good. But overcooked IMO. We ordered medium for the first time and it was like medium well so we ordered medium rare for the second time just to make it taste like medium.

Decent place to unwind and grab a drink. Highly unimpressed with their food offerings. Limited menu, I ended up ordering the chili in a sourdough bread bowl. Both the chili and bread itself were bland and underwhelming. After a long day of hiking, it was a meal that definitely did not hit the spot.

So we never ordered food or drinks here (vegan options are limited and some of the other spots cater more to this) BUT we bought s'mores makings (marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, AND skewers) at the gift shop and the mountain room let us roast marshmallows over their fire. It sounds like this has been discontinued previously for unattended children being around the fire so play nice and it will hopefully continue. Just what we needed after a long day of hiking and plenty to share. Staff was super friendly, especially considering we weren't there to eat or drink. I will also note we were there in the low season in case this is restricted when they are busier. Never hurts to ask!

Need a place for a cocktail, stop on in. The fire is roaring, tvs are going, and staff is super welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my adult beverages with the vibes. The menu for food is super extensive. I saw most people going to the base camp eatery and coming back. After 10pm, minors are not allowed. Definitely recommend.

The Mountain Room Lounge is located inside Yosemite National Forest and surrounded by the lodges and accommodation. Seating yourself is quite awkward because you need to hang around and wait until someone finishes eating and drinking and leaves their table. It is supposed to be first in to get the next table but people literally run and fight each other when they see the next free table. We were recommended to eat the nachos by the front desk staff when we checked in, however they were not that great. The food was pretty ordinary and I would not go there again.

Stopped for dinner and drinks here after a day at the park. I took the chicken pesto wrap which came with a side of fries. This was pretty good. My wife had the mushroom cheese burger which was good as well. My friend took the black bean burger which was okay I guess. I also tried an old fashion with my meal which was not the best one to be honest. Definitely a place to chill and have a couple of drinks after a long day of hike. Priced reasonably considering it is inside a national park and have good portion size.
