By far the best part of visiting Yangon. Very surreal. I had a tour guide come up to me when I entered. I thought he was working there but he was just some guy that spoke really good English and knew a lot about the place. He ended up asking for 60,000MMT which was way more than I thought he would ask. I ended up giving up the money because I didn't want to cause a scene and it wasn't that much to give up for me. Long story short, if someone comes up to you to guide you through the place, just know they'll ask for a lot of money at the end. He was a great tour guide overall but I wouldn't have followed him if I knew how much he'd end up charging.

Amazingly complex and beautiful grounds. Take the time to really appreciate all the detail work on the pillars and ceilings. Western visitors need to remember to wear appropriate clothing (shoulders and knees covered). There is a special entrance for foreign guests and an elevator up so you don't need to take all the stairs. You will be barefoot. Bring sunglasses for the glare.

Great pagoda. One of largest and most important one in Myanmar. 10,000MMK for foreigners. It may take 45-60 min. walking inside of this property. There are few water fountain to drink, free of charge. Just be careful with stranger who is coming close to you and start guiding. Usually, they speak fluent English and explain history of this pagoda. If you want to pay for the guide fee, please let him take care of you. It was said 30,000MMK after the guide is done. He would use all of it to his students who are waiting foods and educational goods in northern part of Myanmar… it is totally up to you to believe it or not

I've always felt so good and peaceful when I've ever reached this invaluable Buddhist temple. It's a prestigious temple for Myanmar.

This is a very famous pagoda in Yangon. It was made by gold and so beautiful in the evening or in the night. There are a lot of local residents. Ticket for foreigner is 10,000 kyats and free for local visitors. You shall wear polite dress. If you wear anything too short, you can borrow another dress from management board (it is free but you need to deposit 5,000 kyats). There may be some local tour guides chasing you. If you accept their service, you need to tip them. They will said that it depends on your heart but they usually mention about 50,000 kyats (a bit high). However, if you don’t enough money, you can give 20-30,000 kyats, it is ok.

A magnificent pagoda complex in the middle of Yangon, which legend has it dates back more than 2,500 years. You will need to pay 10,000 ks at the ticket counters which can be found at each of the 4 entrances - north, south, east and west - of the complex. Be sure to spot and pay at the ticket counters as staff are sometimes missing (due to rarity of tourists as of May 2023 presumably). Or you will be escorted back to the counter by a friendly security guard to pay your dues. The tiles get hot by 10am in the morning, so show up really early or much later in the day during sunset lest walking around the complex feels like walking in a ring of fire! Footwear is forbidden- you will be give a plastic bag to carry your shoes in for the duration of your visit.

An impressive looking pagoda. This is the most sacred pagoda in Myanmar. When I came here, it was very crowded, everyone held a faithful looking on their face. The atmosphere was overwhelming. There were many rituals that were foreign to me. Nonetheless a must visit in Yangon

Must-go place when you visit Yangon, Myanmar. The glamorous architecture and the pagoda is really indeed a breathtaking. I suggest not to miss the night timr there.

This place is very attractive and ofcourse i will suggest to all passengers to go there and visit the pagoda....ticket price are little bit high but if anyone is visiting myanmar please do not miss this place.

Very large resting Buddha, 65 m, about 210 ft., definitely a must see in Yangoon. We enjoyed it very much. Lots of youngsters that wanted to practice their foreign language skills. Mothers with their babies. Everyone was so friendly and the temple is very colorful and pretty.

Worth visiting. Very peacefull. Didnt expect to be that big in person. Spend minutes admiring Buddha's face and the way his manicured hand support his head. The bare metal frames and trusses adds the charm to the temple. One of the most memorable temples I visited around Southeast Asia

Good place to visit. Long and huge reclining Buddha statue. Many smaller statues with different Buddha positions. Unfortunately I visited during maintenance of the statue when it was completely covered with wooden frames. So have a look at the rare pictures.

I was late for my flight so I stayed in Yangon without planning ahead. Visiting this temple was not in my plan either. I got an uber and he became my tour guide. This is one of the places he took me to. The reclining Buddha image was impressive. At the time I did not understand the meaning of the image, but I was still overwhelmed. Now that I know the story of thus image, I hope I will have another chance to visit this temple 🙏🙏🙏 The man statue is Sir Po Tha, a wealthy Burmese who sponsored this temple. A very worthy visit

A must visit large scale lounging Buddha if you are in Yangon. A very beautiful and serene place. Much bigger than I expected. I love this magnificent and peaceful place.

A good and calm place in the downtown of Yangon which is next to a Christian church and muslim mosque. Best time to visit in evening by viewing sunset of Yangon.

Good place to pray. Not so big so that it may take about 15-20 min. unless you spend much time to pray for certain thing.

This is a beautiful pagoda in Yangon. It is situated in the middle of a roundabout. Foreigners need to pay 5000 Myanmar Kyat for entry, which I don’t mind. Please also remember to take off your shoes and socks. I walked around this pagoda and made some donations to it.

Sule Pagoda is conveniently situated in the downtown of Yangon and easy to reach. The entrance ticket is 5k. You have to be modestly dressed and take your shoes off. Pagoda is a pretty large complex with several entrances. It's dedicated mainly to the Lord Gotama the Buddha, but not only. Improvements needed: better cleanliness, especially windows. Thank you

Feb 6, 2023 - Major renovations happening. Don't go unless you can't go another time. I decided to go in because I only have a few days here in Yangon.

The most of pagoda is under maintenance, but the ticket 5,000 kys for visitor. I think this time shouldn't visit it, try Shwedagon until it's fully opening!

Decent park with a 300 kyat admission fee. A few small dining places along the lake. A few play areas for children. A very small "zoo". A nice small island to relax on the grass. A somewhat questionable boardwalk. And a "Palace". There also is a water park but I'm not sure if there is a separate admission fee for that.

It can be considered as the only enjoyable and big enough amusement park in Yangon. It could be better considering the size and structure. Tickets are super cheap. I have seen smaller and unnatural-looking parks in Thailand with very high price.

If you want to know about Burma history and traditions and culture this will be the best place ever as almost show every thing you need to know specially its very hard to find someone explain all of this to you as the history of Burma is long and complicated. I took around 1.5 hours to finish my tour and still feeling its not enough. Overall its a great experience and I hope it still open.

Surprisingly empty. No bags allowed inside but there are lockers you can rent. Phones are allowed but some areas are off limits for photography. 4 floors with 3-4 galleries per floor. It has everything from Royal Regalia and thrones to prehistoric dinosaur bones. The gallery on the major tribes that make up Myanmar was fascinating as was the music and art gallery. Well worth a visit if you are in the city. Give yourself 2-3 hours to explore.

An extensive and great cross section of Myanmar split across so many levels! I spent several hours strolling through the collection. The building itself needs a great deal of work - many lights were not working and some of the rooms had lost their air conditioning. Overall, a nice way to get a solid understanding of Myanmar’s history and culture

One of the few Yangon tourist sights regularly open. Cost 5000 K , you leave your bag in a locker no photography. Main exhibit by far is the spectacular Lion Throne, but some interesting displays of Burmese marionettes and musical instruments as well as royal regalia.

Massive museum with so much to see and explore regarding Myanmar's long and interesting history. There are 5 floors packed with various exhibits, and the pamphlet they hand out after you've paid your entry fare (which was, I believe, 5000 kyats) explains exactly what to see on every floor which was very handy. A word to the wise that it closes fairly early most days, so make sure you come early enough to explore it in its entirety - I budgeted only an hour, and that was barely even enough time to speed walk around the entire museum barely actually taking in any of the information. For best results, try to budget 2-3 hours I would say. As others have pointed out, the museum could use a couple renovations (there are lights that are burnt out, the floor is cracking in a ton of places, etc.) but I found that its condition was perfectly acceptable to fully enjoy all of the exhibits.

Decided on the day to check out this museum, what a pleasant surprise!! The museum itself is kind of dated but the artifacts they have in there are totally amazing. I like museums in general, and this is one of the better ones around. I fully recommend this if you are in Yangon. Was really quiet when we were there, maybe just 5 or 10 others in the place. Cost was 5000 kyat per person, closes at 4:30, I would recommend giving yourself 2-3 hours to check it all out

Many exhibits here are very unique to Myanmar, obviously, but satisfying. A lot of stuff here are surprisingly shown in the open, like, touch your meteor, your proto elephant mortar. A surprising insight into Zomia prehistory and bronze ages too. Basically, don't miss this.

Never really tasted Burmese food, but I like it the first time I had it! The briyani was light and fragrant, I felt like I wouldn't get sick of it! The mutton was tender and had no "muttony smell"... The tea leaves salad was surprisingly tasty and to my liking! Overall atmosphere was great except that the lighting was rather dim on the second floor where we dined, and the ceiling was rather low... Great place to dine in nonetheless!

The place is worth a spending your time and money. The food is consistently good and their service is consistent.

This is a REALLY good place to enjoy some local type of milk tea. They provide more than 10 different versions of tea with different milk portions. The cake is nicely served with beautiful decoration. From 11:00 a.m. they start to serve lunch. I didn’t order but looking at other tables simply triggers my appetite.

Great place for local Burmese and Asian food along with western desserts. Aside from being quite touristy with pricing to match, this place is great in terms of food quality and variety. Decor is contemporary and the friendly staff speak English. The signature tea leaf salad was particularly unique and tasty.

This place lives up to all the review buzz. Always has been on my bucket list to visit and truly amazed me with the quality of local Burmese food and great selections of tea and desserts. Nice relaxing ambient café feel. Love the interior design of this place. The food just WOW. Amazing! Lamb mutton is so delicious served in traditional Burmese way definitely a must eat here!

Grassy western style restaurant with local dishes. They even have some fancy cocktails like the old fashion in the menu. They do recommend having reservations but we managed to get a table before the dinner rush without one. Everything we had was very good. We even had some dessert which we never have when we eat out. The prices are higher than other restaurants but it’s a meal worth splurging on.

We went here for lunch on a Sunday and the place was almost full. The decor and style of the place was pretty funky. The food was super tasty and so flavorful. I had a tea leaf salad which was amazing followed by the Chicken Biryani was was so good. I was drinking a fresh coconut. The staff were helpful and friendly

Waste of time and money. Overpriced food and they charge SERVICE CHARGES AND TAX! This is not the US. That is ridiculous. Outside you have the same food for 90% off and without the service charge and tax. So stupid. Food nothing you cannot find in Europe or US. Very "westernized" Do not recommend.

Beautiful lakeside restaurant with the most extensive wine selection in Yangon. Fine dining and private rooms are also available. The outside seating is really nice at sunset but a little bit hot during the day.

The Fathers day Tasting menu was delicious and at a good price with a wonderful Wellington beef. Then sipping on a glass of wine on the terrace 😍

Le Planteur is a fine dining restaurant located in an heritage house by Inya Lake. It is one of the finest French restaurant in Myanmar. Food is delicious, a blend of Asian and French flavors. Breathtaking scenery and stylish surroundings!

This is the premier French restaurant in Rangoon. They have their own private bay on the water. The setting is an old colonial home and gardens. The home is luxurious and the gardens are exquisite. Even the toilets are like stepping into luxury. The food is Michelin-class in presentation, delivery, and taste. The only downside are the mosquitoes that cannot be avoided. So spray yourself or larger up the cream to keep from becoming the main meal. The tables are spaced so that each group has privacy of conversation while not appearing to be isolated. They have ample parking and security in the parking lot.

This restaurant is located in an heritage colonial house facing Inya lake, downstairs for casual dining and upstairs fine dining. The food menu is minimal but the dishes are excellent, with a very smooth combinations of ingredients and taste; the wine list is superb and the atmosphere is unique.

If you look closely at the picture, you should definitely see something. I'm an optimist, so I don't usually blame. That day (Mar-5,2023), when I came out for lunch, the sight I saw made me cry. The cleanliness of your shops (All of Feel Restaurants), it has been famous and successful for about 20 years. We, all of consumers also trust your Services. The life of the restaurant is cleanliness. Clean food is more important than delicious food for all consumers. If the officials of this restaurant saw this Google review, I urge you to correct it as soon as possible. If these matters are paid attention to and prepared as soon as possible, it would make sense to speak on behalf of the majority of consumers. Peace ✌️

You just pick what you want over the counter. The waitress serving me was helpful. She tried to explain the dishes to me. The food is slightly warmed up but at least it's clean. Similar to other Burmese i had. I love the green tea!

We had the best Burmese food here! Cheap! Amazing service and staff, very near to the Shwedagon pagoda, super tasty ( best ever!) They bring you free side dishes and soup which are fantastic. If you miss eating at this place you have missed the real Taste of Myanmar A Must!

A interesting restaurant our Burmese guide brought us to. Some people might say its catered towards tourist and I think it's true but it's a decent place to try Burmese cuisine. The service is good and the staff are polite. The set meals are decently priced and the portion size is good. It may get expensive if you order alacarte. My only qualms is it appears a bit dusty. But overall a decent experience and food was pretty good
