Cerro de la Gloria

In 1914, the Monument to the Army of the Andes was placed on its summit in commemoration of the centenary of the Crossing of the Andes by the Army of the Andes.
The monument consists of a base of rocks weighing several tons, and some bronze sculptures.

It is a hot spring complex.
It is located next to the Mendoza River.
Originally, this area was land of the Huarpes. When the Inca Empire took possession of the territory, it became common for people to travel from Cusco to take advantage of the healing properties of the water. After the Conquest, the Spanish made use of the hot springs, and called them “Baños de la Punta del Río”.
In 1893, the first pools for baths and a hotel for accommodation were built. In 1934, a landslide destroyed a large part of the thermal baths hotel facilities. Although there were attempts at reconstruction by the State, the building deteriorated again and was closed in the 1970s. The hotel reopened in 1986, but with barely a quarter of its original size.

The park is home to large glaciers, which act as a water reserve.
