Mixed feelings and a tad of disappointment washed over me when I saw that certain parts of the indoor arena was under some renovation/upkeep/built ins. Interesting fact: Operatic performances, its elliptical shape enhances the acoustic quality of the performances. However the place looks marvellous, majestic and mysterious in the evening. 10Euro ticket per single entry and if you have the Verona Card, you could swoosh through, yes you have priority, it is free and avoid the anaconda like queue.

Beautiful and ancient town boasting the remains of a Roman amphitheatre reputedly slightly older than the one in Rome. Not to be missed are Juliet's (supposed) balcony and statue. Lovely quaint streets full of shops abound, as do restaurants and bars. Be prepared to do a lot of walking to see all the sights and items of interest in this incredibly historical place.

Favorite place minus the castle lookout that I went to in Verona. right now they are setting up for something or doing construction. From the top you have a great view and are able to walk around the perimeter. I bought the Verona card for 20eurps and this entrance was included. The information center to get the pass is right next to the arena.

I was very surprised and impressed with this Arena and enjoyed the experience more than the Colosseum in Rome. It’s older than the Rome Colosseum, cheaper to get into and you can wander as long as you’d like inside to enjoy the remains of this almost 2000 year old site. Well worth the admission price. The ticket line was long but it’s worth the wait. I would love to come back and see a concert or show inside someday.

Went to see Aida in a warm summer night. The opera and settings was awesome. Recommend buying a cushion in the small shops outside the entrance, as they were a bit cheaper than inside the arena. We sat on a metal seat so it was a good investment buying the cushion. If you are seated on the upper levels I think you sit on the rock why a cushion is more needed here. We went to Verona by car and parked in Saba Arsenale a 10 min walk from the arena. Here you can book and pay for your parking in advance, and therefore avoid being in line with other guests from the Arena. You just scan your QR code from your parking reservation. Very easy.

Really enjoyed the visit. Booked tickets online in advance, which saved quite a queue on the day. Much is open including some of the inside walkways. Toilets at various places. It was interesting to learn about the history and also to see how it is used today 2000 years later for opera performances. Could sit and reflect for as long as we wished. Definitely the highlight of Verona.

The most emblematic place of Verona. It may get a bit chaotic when it comes to going inside and how it’s organized. When the inside truly shines is if you manage to go to an event, opera, theater… Otherwise the outside still offers an amazing view.

Beautiful little arena filled with history. Not a great view to the city, but very monumental to be inside the place itself. As of today there’s and entry fee of €10 and €7.5 if you’re a student and with proof of ID. There are toilets and easy to get around.

Went to the arena on a weekday, it was not that busy at all. I recommend to take the Verona pass for 20€ to skip the queue. The Verona pass is also applicable for the other attractions within Verona. The Arena is well maintained and the culture of this monument is explained well with pictures and audio information. You are allowed to enter the Arena and sit wherever you want to check the view from different seating classes. When I was there they were preparing the Arena for a Opera in June. So we also got to see some of the settings and backdrops of the opera.

Indeed this place will remind you of the Clouseaum of Roma, Italy. Verona is little Rome, just because of this building. A very beautiful place in the city. If you are travelling to Verona, don't miss out on this beautiful place in the city. The interior of this building is often occupied with concerts stages and opera performances. Always buy the tickets beforehand to avoid any long ques to visit this marvellous place.

We traveled via train to Verona and had to stop by Juliet’s house. Due to COVID, you must show your green pass or vaccination card at the entrance. There is no fee to go in to the courtyard but there is a fee to see the museum. I thought it was cool but not worth going into the museum. Just personal preference! It’s definitely touristy but if you’re in Verona, you may as well stop by!

Romantic place turned into a touristic nightmare. The balcony and the place are awesome; but the crowd and people gathered in such a small square just makes the experience unpleasant. Yes, it's romantic, yes it's full of historical background and emotions; but most of the people visiting the place only think about one thing - take a picture of Juliette's statue with the breast in their hand or hanging a heart locker on the wall. I don't judge anyone here...just a bit disappointed by the atmosphere.

Entrance to the courtyard was free, but entry to the building was paid. It's worth a look, even if you you don't want to go inside. The statue is also very popular for photos.

Honestly, this is 100% the worst sight in Verona - and this comes from a hardcore Shakespeare lover! The outside of the house is so so overcrowded it gets really annoying, and the inside of the house isn't really worth seeing - there's nothing interesting, expect for maybe the bed replica from the Romeo and Juliet movie. The balcony is cute, but with the hundreds of people around, you can't even get a decent picture. Free entry to the courtyard, you need to have a ticket and a reservation to be able to visit the inside.

The house is huge, and for those who love the story it is something you must visit. The tickets are only online so make sure you book before visiting. If you just want to see the figure of Juliette, then is another queue with no tickets.

A must visit location for any Shakespearean literature enthusiasts. Great pictures can be taken of this historic site. Its a very romantic place in Verona, thousands of lovers have etched their names in the nearby covered wall. Can be very busy, it's a full on tourist location. Highly recommended.

I read a comment that says it’s a romantic place turned into a tourist nightmare and that’s the perfect description. People just want to go touch Juliet’s breast and take pictures doing it. Personal space is unbeknownst to those people. It still a beautiful place and there’s audiobooks available with QR code and it costs 2.5€, I didn’t buy it but it looks interesting. Overall the place have a romantic vibe and the store in front of the balcony has nice souvenirs (but you can find the same ones cheaper around the city). I tried to take a picture of Juliet only and couldn’t do it because people kept jumping to a breast holding picture, so I gave up and got the picture I wanted online. Bring your patience, and enjoy that balcony full of history!

We didn't enter the museum and the balcony itself, but it's freely accessible to enter the courtyard. From there you have a great view on the balcony and the statue of Julia, free of charge. If you want to enter, you'll have to pay. It's nice to see where Shakespeare got his inspiration from for the greatest love tale of all time, but you'll have to deal with the hordes of visiting tourists.

Make what you want of it here. Get your Mrs to climb the stairs to the balcony. It would be great if they did it on a personal note like have a bookable 5 min window to view and visit. When we went there was a lot of people not doing a lot apart from blocking the way. Make the most of it in its current state 👍🏼

Crowded but nice. You can't really see much but is a great experience if you want to relieve the lovely story between Romeo and Juliet. You can enter Juliet's home and stay on her balcony. You can also take a photo with her statue and, if you're with your loved one, you can express your love by putting a lock in front of the home of love.

It’s a very sweet and romantic place. The house has a beautiful tiny balcony that’s adorable Paintings, clothes and pieces of furniture that helps you to visualize the Romantic Era No a very long wait to get inside and the staff is very helpful with buying tickets online ( you can buy tickets while waiting) There is a shop next to it where you can buy cute souvenirs to bring back home.

Really, I felt good in this place. It is the city’s outlet and the main square overlooks the restaurants and the square has this beautiful fountain… Everything is beautiful in Verona. It is a city with an identity that you will not forget because it is difficult to visit cities with a unique identity.

This is a very cool place to visit. Nice little shops all around with restaurants and vendors. It can get a little crowded as well. The pricing doesn't seem to be too bad either. So you can enjoy ice cream , fruit or a meal.

Every time I come to Verona I stay for hours in Piazza delle Erbe (the oldest in the city) because I consider this square a real charm .. and perhaps the truest corner of the city. A corner where palaces, towers, statues and architectural elements from various eras overlap creating a harmonious, unique and unrepeatable collage. Piazza delle Erbe is one of the most beautiful Italian squares in Italy I've ever seen! I have always loved the square for its continuous meeting point of people and cultures, and for its ability to generate authentic stories.

Nice plaza in Verona, close to "Juliet's balcony". In the center you have a lot of shops selling street food and fruits as well as lots of souvenirs. There's several restaurants too. There's a bone from a whale hanging in one of the arches, according to the story it's been there several years, no one knows who put it up there but the people of Verona are superstitious about removing it.

A great combination of historical buildings and nice restaurants with a central view of the center. We visited this place on sunday and there was a bazaar with huge variaty of souvenirs. Defintely you should stop for a while and enjoy the atmosphere in here.

The old buildings flanking the piazza is beautiful. Well preserved and blends quite well with the restaurants and cafes below. The center of the piazza is filled with pop up stores and it is incredibly crowded. Skirt the to the side and enjoy the views of the piazza from there. Beware of pickpockets.

I like castles so this was fun. I kept getting lost trying to find the exit. The museum itself was ok but i have been to many museums in Rome, Florence and Venice that were better

Lots to see, impressive paintings and sculptures. I'm taking a star off as it is like a maze, lots of routes end with dead end. Lots of groups there on tours, blocking paths, doors, I couldn't see glass doors to exit when I tried to leave! A large group stood in front of them, no signage pointing the way. Ticket cost reasonable, you should go early in morning to avoid crowds. Great views from walls.

Great museum in Verona especially if you are looking for something less crowded than the Arena or Juliet's house. The museum has a good collection of medieval art starting from the 14th century. As you go around the castle you also get great views over the bridge. The setup could be slightly improved in order to make it more fun and interactive.

One of the main historic attractions of Verona, top of the Must See list. Rather busy place, worth to arrive early in the morning. Museum collection quite interesting, mostly paintings and some sculptures. Beautiful view point as well. Entry included in Verona Card.

This ‘Old Castle’ is a must see in Verona! Built along the Adige river and the Castelvecchio bridge extending from there across the river, great history behind it. There is lots to see inside this museum and the Verona card gets you free entrance. The place is pretty compact but you should plan on spending at least a couple of hours, perhaps more if you want to leisurely go through the numerous displays of art. Amazing views of the river, bridges etc., once you get up to the top of the castle.

Bit hot inside but really beautiful art, especially for religious minded people. Restoration works are to be applauded. Climb the short flight of stairs up to the battlements if you're there. The only toilet is directly after the entrance, and it's strictly one-way traffic, so plan ahead.

Castlevecchio is stunning and worth a visit. However if you are not interested in medieval art would not recommend the museum. 6euro entry to the museum part. Quite sparsely populated with art. Viewing points of the castle were closed though not notified of this until at the point. Some staff quite rude.

I’ve never seen paintings and sculptures like the ones here. Most if not all are Christian. The castle itself is interesting enough to visit! 6 euro per person, 1.5 hours enough to see everything. There’s only one WC in the whole place so go for it if you don’t see any long line.

Loads and loads of arts and sculptures of a lot of famous / amateur artists. It was very interesting but the focus could be kept only for the first 20-30 mins. After few rooms the interest starts to dip a bit. Maybe please do this visit with a guided tour. In order to finish the complete museum it will probably take almost three to four hours. We skipped almost 40% of the museum (saw all the important art pieces), still it took two hours for us.

I liked the bridge, althought it was historically a military fortress, it's a very nice touristic place in Verona. The bridge has many "windows" on its sides from where you can see the a beautiful river view. Just by the side of the bridge there is a small stoney cost where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of the flowing water of the river.

Remarkably well-restored castle in the heart of Verona. Most of the rooms are filled with religious artifacts and paintings. The self guided tour of the museum takes you throughout the castle and up on the parapets. My only wish is that it had air conditioning -- something that will only be more needed as global temperatures rise.

I visted the bridge during the day and at night and it worth visiting. Walking in the bridge give a beautiful view on the river for both sides. At the end of the bridge you could go down to the left and go under the bridge where you can chill there. And there is a park with a small man-made lake, that children could play on it, at the other side of the bridge which you could have a picnic there. Worth visiting.

Looks like somewhere straight out of Game of Thrones. Museum is quite good loads of nice art and only €6 which also lets you walk the castle ramparts. Bridge is a continuation of the castle. Some nice views up and down river for Happy snaps.

A beautiful fortified medieval bridge in Castel vecchio (old castle) in Verona. The path next to the Adige River offers amazing views of the bridge and is a perfect spot for a walk and taking photos. The bridge was constructed during the 14th century, using red brick in the upper part and white marble in the lower one. You can't miss this when visiting Verona!

Nice medieval bridge, rebuilt after ww2, good for a walk, the walk path goes through Castelvecchio, free for public access, lovely views of the river. Not as impressive as other historical bridges, but ok to visit.

This is one of those place that you shall not miss. Make sure you spend some good time here and especially on the bridge. Museum is not free of charge but inside you can go and check the castle. Bridge is super amazing.

This is a must see if you are in Verona, it was the highlight to our trip apart from the arena, you can stop off and sit and gaze out onto the river at the little alcoves along the way and when you get to the other side you can go down to the beach or take amazing photos overlooking the bridge. Most probably there's a good sunset view from here but we ran out of time

Possibly the most magnificent bridge I've ever seen! Part bridge, part castle, part fortress...absolutely beautiful and such great views up and down the river. We got some lovely photos from here. Would recommend.

Great dinner spot right by the arena. We had sliced steak which was the highlight of the night. The app of melon and prosciutto was also very tasty. I liked the service because we were sharing everything so they helped us divide the portions. The only thing was the gnocchi texture was a bit more doughy than I like it to be. Although the mushroom sauce made up for it.

Super efficient service, all the staff are kind. Food is delicious and for a great price! Highly recommend. Our favourite was the steak with Porcini mushroom. The tiramisu was to die for.

Great food, atmosphere and staff! Very friendly. I wanted pasta and my friend wanted steak so La Griglia was perfect!!! Wine was delicious also.

Appetizer: excellent fluffy gnocchi with truffles. Main course: Steak with forest fruits and balsamic cream. The meat is excellent, but I ordered it medium, and I got it very rare. Side dish: potatoes with rosemary are excellent. (for one appetizer, two main dishes, potatoes, 0.75 water and 1 dl of wine, I paid €70)

Food was good - beef with amarone sauce and tortellini were both tasty. Service was uneven- sometimes multiple waiters were hovering, but we had to ask for our bill three separate times.

Excellent food as well as service. The meat is prepared in front of you, which was truly an experience. Highly recommend everything we ordered. The staff also recommended a perfectly sweet wine.

Dropped in on a Saturday night without reservation and they let me sit down very quickly. The lamb chop was very good and the portion generous. The cooked veggie side dish didn’t seem to be prepared with care. The homemade pana cotta was a great surprise.

We had been here three years ago and the food and service were impeccable. Unfortunately, it seems to have really gone down since then. The waiters sat us next to the road even though there were several free tables at better spots (which we observed they seemed to be saving for their white clientele). The food was good but not what it used to be.

Another stop in Verona during our short stay and found this place based on reading other reviews. They were correct, this place was fantastic. We had a braised rabbit dish with polenta that warmed the soul. The service was fantastic and one of the owning partners took the time to check on us and made recommendations for dessert. As a visitor from another country we were so lucky to have found this place and the people were so kind and grateful. This restaurant is a great example of the fantastic food one can find in the charming city of Verona.

A nice venue and they were able to squeeze us in before another booking, which we appreciated. It went downhill from there. We had pasta with a duck Ragu. The pasta itself tasted fresh and was nice but the duck was bland and the sauce certainly didn't help. The side of vegetables was cooked enough but didn't have much flavour (just comparing here to other restaurants we went to in the same range), even with a stuffing, and the roasted potatoes were equally underwhelming. The only redeeming factor was the amarone wine which was lovely . Surprisingly, the staff barely spoke English which was not easy and also plates were taken off our table whilst we were still finishing to eat. It didn't make us want to stay for dessert.

We came here for lunch, after visiting Castelvecchio. The service was extremely friendly, the drinks were delicious and quite generous. Lots of delicious options in the menu, it is really hard to chose what to eat!!! We got two dishes from the daily menu and they were both amazing!

Very lucky to get a table here for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was full of locals plus a few tourists. The food was great, the service lovely and the value exceptional. We’ve been lucky to eat a number of 5 star meals while in Verona (it’s a foodie heaven) and this was the best of them. Many thanks to all the restaurant staff for creating such a wonderful meal and experience.

The best spot in verona for local authentic food! As a Brit you'll see some Uncommon things on the menu, but if you're willing to branch out, you won't be disappointed. Can recommend the risotto strongly. Service was excellent, and felt like I was in someone's front room, beautiful 5*.

I showed up without reservation and had an hour at this cozy restaurant. Very friendly service taking safety against covid seriously. I had pasta with sardines, and was given a bit more time at table to enjoy the nice dessert. Great experience. Would definitely recommend this place. Get a reservation!

I ate the BEST pasta in Italy in this place. Look I don't have words to describe the taste of the dishes and how the staff are amazing. The place is really cool and everything look nice. I just had a amazing evening and I felt sad to live the place 😅

Such great lunch! My family and I had tortellini with cod, tortellini in soup, spaghetti with horse, linguini with rabbit and lasagna. Very tasty! We were all happy with our dishes. For dessert we recommend the tiramisu. The staff was very friendly, but the waitress was a bit impatient for us to go and picked up our dishes a bit abruptly. Everything else was fine :)

Service was great, the staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Lots of gluten free options across the entire menu. Main highlight for us was large selection of traditional Veronese dishes. We all tried food that we wouldn't normally try and we were not disappointed. I had the fried calves brain which I enjoyed but appreciate that it will not be to everyone's taste especially if you have a problem with texture. My youngest had the horse stew that was the stand out main for me absolutely delicious. The pumpkin ravioli was great we ordered it as a starter and went down really well between 3 of us. My wife ordered the octopus that was cooked perfectly and was gluten free. My older daughter had the lamb chops that she really enjoyed. The desserts were all delicious but for me the Pandoro was absolutely outstanding and a must. Can't recommend enough and thank you to our waitress who was brilliant.

Super nice place, well decorated and friendly staff. The outside tables were more comfortable for us, but in our opinion there are too many too close. Nevertheless, everything we tried was amazing! We tried the risotto and the gnocchi - 10/10. And the cheesecake too. I would really like to come back to keep trying their stuff.

We were lucky that there was only one seat left without reservation! The aubergine parmigiana was amazing! The quality of everything was great but the taste if all three pasta was so so.

Authentic, delicious, and in a beautiful serene atmosphere. The parmigiana was creamy and full of flavour, the fish was so flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The host suggest an amazing white wine to go with the meal. Great service! Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely amazing dinner and enjoyed a professional and kind service. The truffle pasta was delicious. But the grand finale was the Tiramisu - the best I’ve ever had. It’s impossible to describe the taste of this dessert at Greppia, maybe “heaven on a plate” would fit.

We had the red wine risotto and mixed pasta were awesome, as were the deserts. Top it off with some fine coffee, and you’ve got an incredible setting for a lunch. Also the staff was wonderful and made us feel welcome and appreciated. World class experience!

This is the best restaurant in Verona, We’ve been here 4 times for lunch& dinner. The place is hidden but always full. The staff is really friendly and the food.. omg delicious, chef’s kiss. Many thanks to all the staff but especially to Vasilio. Can’t wait to be back!

A very beautiful restaurant. The food was better than most I had while in Verona. It was a bit strange seeing horse meat and fried brain on the menu as an American, but the food was delicious.

Stopped here for lunch, it was nice and quiet away from the hustle of Verona. We had the spaghetti and green ravioli with spinach and ricotta, both were excellent. Service was great and prices very reasonable.

It is the only restaurant with garden in Verona. Not very far away from the Arena, it has a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful decoration. The food was exceptional and the staff very friendly. This should be a must if you are visiting Verona.

This is a beautiful upscale restaurant. The interior design of the indoor dining area is gorgeous but the garden also offers a romantic dining experience. If it’s not raining, I’d definitely recommend sitting outside. The historical centre in Verona can be quite busy so this restaurant is perfect if you want to have a nice refined meal and escape from the crowd for a while without going far from the centre.

Amazing place. Words cannot describe the experience. The place is super elegant, and well decorated. The staff is super friendly and attentive. And the most important thing. The food is out of this world. I am saving this place as a favorite to always remember to come back.

Pros: very good service and atmosphere, beautifully designed restaurant. Cons: dishes are way overpriced considering their quality - we expected a gourmet dinner, but got average look and taste and very small dishes. The pumpkin ravioli was nice but the dough was too raw (I am well familiar with the ‘al dente’ concept, yet this was clearly not cooked enough). The truffles gnocchi had a weird after-taste, and overall was not good. The dessert was ok but not something you would expect in a fine dining restaurant. All this I could accept and grant 3 stars, however other things were bothering even more: we ordered a medium bottle of sparkling water for which we were charged the ridiculous amount of 10 (!!!) euros, and also two coca cola zero, which instead bringing a bottle for each person, they brought us already poured glasses, a concept I have never seen in a fine restaurant. And we were charged 5 euros (!!!) for each glass. But wait, there is more: at the beginning of the dinner, the waiter brought us some bread (all other tables around us received the same bread automatically upon arrival as well), yet we were totally amazed when the bill arrived and we were charged for this 10 euros!!! To summarize, it begun promising but ended not as good.

If I could give this restaurant 6 out of 5 stars (or more) I would. We were greeted by an amazing ambience, with a stylish yet homey decor style. The staff were amazing, and the service was personal and friendly, while still professional and efficient. The owner interacted us the entire evening, describing each dish and truly attempting to connect with the guests present in his restaurant. The food was delicious, and the menu was creative and used seasonal ingredients. Would definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a cozy night out in Verona.

Service was completely perfect, very kind and friendly! The restaurant is a cozy place to enjoy a good wine. I had ordered fish capeletti with ricotta and the house white wine. Both was delicious. The dessert was a perfect home made tiramisu. Was a very good experience.

Located in a narrow alleyway just off the Verona Arena. (Google maps is accurate). Service is punctual and efficient. Food arrives fast too, but it did not compromise on the quality. Prices are moderately high, but portions are good. The homemade fish ravioli is especially popular here.

Highly recommended. You don’t get a view of the arena as it’s tucked into an alleyway but the food and serving is really excellent. We had dinner here and again for lunch the next day. Special shout out to our waiter Gabriel who was such a pleasant and professional server who brought out and served our wines. The pork was excellent as was the beef cheek and pizza

Amazing restaurant! A lot of space outside and inside, great food and wide selection of wines. We had wonderful time with our waitress John! Highly recommended!

We had a such a delicious lunch. The lobster linguine was so fresh and tasty and the home made Ravioli with Ricotta Sea Bass and prawn tails was a so yummy and refreshing. Matteo was so attentive and was a delight to be served by him. It was so good we had to book for dinner for another night.

The most wonderful evening. The food was so delicious and our waiters were amazing. A very special thank you to Natale who was so attending and professional. We were there at about nine pm and got a couple of appetizers to share and then Main courses. (Pictures below)

Best restaurant in Italy. We were worried at first because it seemed like a super high class expensive restaurant but they were super friendly and relaxing. The whole staff made sure to greet us and say goodbye when we left. Food and wine were amazing. Highly recommend for anyone.

Probably one of the nicest meals I had on my holiday. We were welcomed very nicely by the waiter, who presented us the menu in detail, including the specialties of the day. The food was high quality, and the portions were very generous. The restaurant is a bit hidden from the central boulevard so you can relax and enjoy an Aperol Spritz in peace.

Good food, good service. The risotto was very good and hot when coming out. Would recommend eating here for a nice meal. May be touristy as its close to the opera but wasn't as bad as the ones outside.
