This was a beautiful little national park. The roads are dirt/gravel, but are easy to drive. If you don't want to pay to take a tour, just rent a car in Ushuaia. The driving is easy, even for foreigners. The entrance fee for US citizens was 5,500 pesos per person. Have cash, the credit card reader wasn't working. The do have camping available in the park.

If you get a chance to visit this beautiful national park, definitely added to your schedule. It is not too large to see all of the interesting places in one day, but if you have the time I would recommend two days. Or you can buy a ticket for 8500 Argentine pesos that gives you admission for two days within 72 hours of the first entry. Otherwise, you can pay 5500 pesos per person for a one day pass. A lot of people go there because they want to see the post office at the end of the world, but this appears to rarely be open annoyingly so don’t count on sending your postcards from there. There are some rather easy hikes that you can do, there are horses roaming around and beautiful vistas, and you will have a great day seeing beautiful scenery and landscapes.

So good except cafe shut at 3pm. No beer reward for a very decent hike. Get the minibus from the sales hut in the car park on the front. Tame hawks and foxes and geese. So many lovely birds to accompany you in the climb up through the woods. Roots form steps. Easy to get down. Hard work going up! Views are very rewarding

Fantastic national park! If you have only one full day in Ushuaia spend at least half of it here. I went both hiking and on a little flatwater rafting tour with Canal Fun. Both were fantastic. I highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time with the QR code or on the website. You can also send a postcard from the southernmost Argentine post office in the park.

Tierra del Fuego National Park encompasses a rich and varied ecosystem. The aspect is wooded mountain and the many trekking routes allow you to visit it far and wide. You can get to know local plants and animals. Some points are really interesting, such as the mountain and the lake (Roca / Acigami) which halfway mark the border with Chile, or the Lapataia Bay which determines the end of "Ruta 3" or the post office further south of the world in Ensenada Bay.

Tierra del Fuego National Park was beautiful! I visited in December of 2022. There were plenty of beautiful trails, including water views, rock formations, and a variety of flowers and other plants. The scenery provides a surreal backdrop for canoeing and hiking.

Biking distance from Ushuaia you can enjoy the park. (You can rent bikes in town. Wear a Buff neck gaiter, dusty dirt road ) Enjoy the park.

It is a must go if you are interested in the history behind Ushuaia. I found the museum interesting, but the display was all over the place. They've put different presentations on each cell of the old jail, which is a very good idea, the problem is, that they are not particularly organized. There isn't a section for each display, so you can go from "life in prison" to "Antarctica research" to "famous prisoner" to "Life in Ushuaia" randomly. And the thing is, those categories are things I just thought out for this review, they are not signs that you actually find in the museum. All that, plus a really expensive ticket for what we did there left us with a bitter sweet taste. Still, I do not regret going.

If you have time in Ushuaia I definitely recommend visiting the museum It quite big and gives lots of info on the history of Ushuaia

Ticket price has increased to 6100 pesos. Interesting museum as it covers various topics like maritime, marine life, the Antarctic, the prisons history and even indigenous tribes like the Yamanas. My biggest issue with this place is how unstructured the layout is. You'll be reading about penguins in one section but then right next to it you're reading about life in the prison. The general flow of information is random and information could be more concise instead of very lengthy paragraphs to read. Various topics are located in different parts of the prison but I wish information flowed in a way that made sense. It's certainly interesting to walk through a repurposed prison and even visit the original cells. If you want to learn more about the history I still highly recommend it.

Highly recommend checking this place out. Is a really interesting museum that contains a lot of information and a very interesting layout. Plenty to see and when you get an entry you will be able to leave and come back the next day. It is good for 48 hours.

It talks about the many voyages which helped put the island on the map. Moreover, it speaks about how the city developed through the jail and prisoners which were sent here.

Despite the various negative reviews I had read I decided to go there because I considered it a must (given the historical importance) but you can definitely avoid it (especially if you have a limited budget). The museum is absolutely not worth the price you are going to pay (5000 pesos in November 2022, price for foreign tourists). It is perhaps one of the most expensive museums in all of Argentina. It is also perhaps the only indoor place where you will feel cold in Ushuaia. The museum needs a museological reform, it is almost only very long explanatory panels (in English and Spanish) that tire even the greatest museum lovers like me. You can avoid paying and read almost everything online. They say there is an audio guide but it doesn't always work (I just gave up but it should also be available in Portuguese and Italian). Definitely not suitable for children, they will get tired. The number of people who can enter is not limited or well managed so that sometimes it is just too crowded. The ticket includes other museums, or rather other rooms or exhibitions, which may be interesting but once again are absolutely not worth the price you are going to pay. You can return again with the same ticket within 48 hours if you have it stamped at the entrance and you still feel like it.

Interesting museum that just has far, far too much information presented in a completely haphazard and random way. It’s incredibly difficult to follow any sort of historical timeline, plus most of the English translations feel like they came straight from Google translate 15years ago. 6200ARS for tourists also feels overpriced, although you can get a stamp for free to come back the day after you first visit. If they could revamp it to tell more of a chronological story it would be super interesting but currently it’s just a barrage of standalone information boards.

It’s a nice museum but it could be a bit better divided between the different themes they expose in there. You will learn about the history of Ushuaia, the history of the prison itself, maritime history, sea life and art.

Fun mountain with good snow. Gets crowded like the rest of Ushuaia and expect long lines and busy slopes. Getting to and from Cerro Castor can get hectic.

We came here for two days this July. The snow was great, and so is the mountain. It has great runs for beginners to the very experienced. Their ski school was fantastic for my six year old. He doesn’t speak Spanish, but almost all their coaches/counselors spoke English. The facilities are gorgeous, the food is delicious… I can’t say enough good things about this place.

I love this place, this is a excellent place for snowboarding. You feel like you walk at clouds, and the best thing is the view. You can imagine how it is in heaven from there. At the top of the mountain you can see the last thing at the world.

Cerro Castor is one of the best places for skiing. What I like - They have places to rent equipment and clothes, shoes, helmets, etc. Places are accessible even when you put your ski applied to feet. Good places to eat food (breakfast, lunch and snacks). The food is not much expensive and was decent in taste. Places are available at ground level as well as on level 1 to eat and stay inside if someone is not feeling well. They have RFID cards to access the cable car 🚡. You can go multiple time up the mountains. You can opt for the coaching for skiing. They provide 2 hour private coaching for 60000 pesos. Also they have group coaching cost around 25000 pesos per person. The prices can vary based on the season, time and inflation. What I did not like - The cost of clothes is a little expensive compared to the places available in the city. You could rent/buy clothes at a cheaper rate at the shops available in the city. Things to consider - You could buy the cerro castor pass directly via cerro castor website. If you go via any agency then you could be paying more price. You should have good clothes, probably wet proof. Better to buy your own glasses, they won't rent sunglasses and hand gloves here. You need to buy those. You need to book your commute in advance, you can find difficulties finding a car or taxi if you have not booked your commute.

We were there in July. It was our first time skiing. We are a family of five and we took lessons with Lucio Conesa and Ramiro. Both were terrific! Great teachers, very patient, great communicators. We think is an excellent place to learn how to ski. Congratulations! The restaurant is very expensive ( comparing to other restaurants in Argentina) food is poor quality for what we paid.

After Sept 21th they decrease the ticket price and the ski season runs up to Oct 6th. O went o n Sept 26th, and it was great. They got great snow and nice trails. The only thing that bothered me is that the green trails don’t make to the base lodge.

If you came to Ushuaia in the winter and didn't get any snow, you should definitely go here. The snow is always here. It's either snowing or the snow is produced.

Good food but not special enough to queue for 1.5 hours (in peak season). Thankfully I spent the waiting time in a nearby pub or i would not be impressed. Didn't have more than half of the wines on the list. That said, the food was good, just don't expect anything special.

Great little find in the center of Ushuaia. We stopped in for lunch and we saw that the portion of seafood and rice and cream sauce was very large so we decided to share one and have a soup appetizer. The prices are quite reasonable for the area. You can see people lining up in front before dinner service begins. Good food. Busy place. You may need to wait if you want to settle your check so make sure to ask in advance.

Fish wash very good quality, fresh and large quantity however, it was somewhat bland and my friend said the same.

Good service, staff was kind and responsive. Whereas some people complain that it is difficult to get a table we didn't have to wait at all. The main dishes were incredible (mine was the lamb with orange sauce). The portions were good as well.

Walk passed and decided to pop in for a quick lunch since I read pretty good reviews about this place and it doesnt disappoint. The food came out fast, tasty and the service was cordial. The menu wasnt expensive compare to most on the same street and this place is popping. Highly recommended.

Absolute highlight in Ushuaias restaurant scene. It has ambience, good food and wide choice of vines and drinks. Staff is friendly and attentive. A must when Ushuaia. Make sure you come at opening time as else you will have to wait for a table. Recommended.

I need to clarify that a lot of people said that the place and its food it's amazing but that was NOT my case. I arrived 8:30 PM and the place was full so we had to be on a waiting list, the problem started when I saw at least three groups of people that arrived after me sitting on their tables while I was still waiting (my girlfriend insisted to wait). After one hour and a half we got a table, and the first thing that the waitress said it's a list of thing that were out of stock( I don't like that but ok) I ordered a grilled lomito a was a complete disappointment, I could do better meat and the only thing that could rescue the horrible experience was the dessert and.... Out of stock, there was no the only thing that I wanted so TBH I do HATE the place and its food (my girlfriend said was good btw)

Quick service and decent food. Best bread (!) so far we had in Argentina. Not sure if others have the same observation that plain bread in the country is typically hard and dry and full of crumbs. But bread here is actually soft and moist. Friendly staff and lots of options on the menu too.

Our waitress was really nice, friendly and efficient. The setting itself is nice. Unfortunately my partner and I were disappointed with the blandness of the Caesar salad and the pork belly sandwich with fries.

Had some lunch here. I had am American breakfast which was simple but nice: jam, cream cheese, toasted bread, three shrimps with barbeque sauce, scrambled eggs and a bit of bacon, a glass of juice and a coffee. Juice didn't seem very fresh. Staff was friendly and busy. Pretty good location central in Ushuaia. Price was ok: 2500 for breakfast and 600 for a large coffee.

Great cafe, it was the first time I ordered the croque madam. It was delicious. In the winter this is definitely a place you want to go to warm up and have a delicious meal

Arrived on early flight , taxi driver recommended here , happy he did , ordered the American breakfast , scrambled eggs , pancetta and grilled shrimp , served with oj, coffee , bread and jam , great service , great value, thanks

Ushuaia isn't exactly teeming with good value places, but this one was busy and friendly (not often heard in the same sentence!) with decent good burgers to boot.

It looks like prices on the menu change so fast, I checked the photo of the menu uploaded here 2 weeks ago and now the prices are higher than that. High ceilings, nice athmosphere, helpful staff. Coffee was ok, torta crocante chocó was great.

It's nice cafe bar, looks cool from outside, but my coffee was not so nice, I ordered coffee with baileys and it tasted more like water then coffee.

This was a recommended choice from a local. I really enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. I had a trout that was tasty with rice. It was a great choice. My friend had a tagliatelle with seafood, that was amazing. The server was so nice and helpful. Always smiling. I would like to come back again.

Great place, great food! The Sea bass ( merluza negra) is amazing! Prices are good. If you are looking for fish dishes this is the best place that you can go.

They did not have king crab. There was one small crab in the tank which was not for sale but for display only. The waiter recommended crab soup and seafood dish with side of rice which were the only available crab containing options on the menu. Pasta sauce was creamy and good. We also had a glass of wine, and local fish. Total bill was over $25,000 and they also charged us 10% additional tip. They were not friendly and we didn’t think the food was worth what we had paid.

King Crab my @$$. I've seen bigger, while working at the Clinic. They were out of my first 5 choices. The "King Crab" legs were tiny and Paella for 2 cost $50 with a beer and a Coke. Whatever they used in place of saffron gave no flavor to the Paella and the service was terrible. When the bill came, we had to send it back because they had charged us for what I had originally ordered. When it came back they doubled the price of the Paella so the bill only changed a little. We asked about that and they told us that that was the price for two. Pretty hard to argue when the table menu has no prices. Another customer ordered the fresh crab and they served it without taking one out of the tank. He said it tased like frozen but the waiter assured him it was fresh. He's probably better off considering the look of the tank. You'd think they would keep a "Show Tank" clean. Ignore the older reviews and eat somewhere else.

Super touristy place, there's always a line to get in. They don't take reservations. Staff is friendly and food quality is very good and fresh. I think is the best quality/price ratio in town.

Just finished a lovely dinner here. Javier was fantastic!! And made us feel very welcome- thank you. Our beers came out prompt with ice-cold glasses and a basket of fresh bread with a nice dip. We shared the crab/prawn dish to start then had the seafood stew and hake for our mains- all delicious! Despite every table in the restaurant being full, the service was perfect and we didn't wait long at all. Thank you for a lovely evening :)

The definition of a tourist trap. Yes, it’s cool to eat an entire king crab, but you’ll find better crab all over the world. Service was extremely poor. We never got bread and they didn’t even bring us the scissors needed to cut the crab until we chased them down to ask. Don’t believe this is good food just because there’s a giant line. The rice and salad that accompanies the crab were so incredibly BLAND. My friend and I left so disappointed, and still hungry. Also, they didn’t even include butter to dip the crab into. Maybe that’s not traditional but the crab just didn’t have a food flavor to it by itself. We’ve had crab that was 10x better in places like Minnesota and non coastal areas. Skip it!

Walk in only. Awesome food. Very good service. Fresh fresh black hake with signature sauce of king crab, shrimps and scallops. Steamed king crabs plucked right out of the tank. Can’t get better than this .

The salmon is too small. There’s nothing special on the flavor and it is too expensive. There are better places to eat sea food in Ushuaia. I definitely don’t recommend this place specially because it smells like dead fish

Amazing place. The best one to enjoy the local food, incredible, price and quality unmatched, the only downside is that there is always a waiting line to get inside. But its 100% worth it

Old style restaurant... Depends on the season you can order King Crab 🦀 , one of the specialties of the kitchen... The place is packed all the time so remember to go with time... Must have their original dessert 🍨

Maria Lola restaurant was the highlight of our stay in Ushuaia. The staff is friendly and helpful. The views over the city and Beagle Channel are wonderful. The food is spectacular and wine list extensive. They also have cocktails and nice beer selection as well. Our favorite staff member has a cool tattoo of the mountains visible from your seat by the window…. He was so attentive to or needs and took great care of us. We popped in for lunch and stayed 2.5 hours. We loved everything about the experience that we made a reservation for dinner. (I recommend making a dinner reservation because it was completely full on a Saturday night). We enjoyed king crab, calamari, steak, and salmon. They have something for everyone’s taste. Thanks to the team there at Maria Lola!!!

One of the few fine dining places around. Service was very kind and the food excellent quality. We had the specials ravioli and the tallarines Poseidon. Both recommended. For dessert don’t miss the dulce de leche mousse. Softest mousse I’ve ever had.

I was recommended to try this place by a local as we waited in line at Western Union for 2hrs. It did not disappoint. They also have a good rate for USD if anyone needs that. I had the Pumpkin Ravioli. It was truly amazing. Definitely recommend. They also offer wine pairings suggestions that seem right on to me. Very good experience. I tried their fried mozzarella appetizer, it wasn’t my favorite, so I’d suggest you try something else. I can’t eat shellfish, but those appetizers looked wonderful. They were less busy at lunch and great view

Well the service was not nice, not friendly, in a first moment when we stopped by to make our reservation. We felt being judged by our looks after-hike. Went there for dinner and the food was not great, the clams were not fresh, the merluza was good, otherwise not amazed unfortunately by this expensive restaurant.

Wanting to have a light meal (tapas), we headed to Maria Lola's for lunch. What a find! Fine dining in a very exquisite location. Interior is very warm and cozy, excellent wines and amazing cuisine. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and very well prepared. Local wines were equally good. Well worth the money spent. Highly, highly recommended.
