What a place! We visited in the summer of 2032 and spent a most enjoyable few hours touring the village. So much to see and masses of detail in every scene. We loved it, and had great fun spotting all the details. The crazy golf was free and was great fun too. Highly recommended if you want to be surprised and amazed at the skill of the model makers.

What a wonderful place. It's so well thought out, and the humour is great. Added bonus of free crazy golf. The grounds are well maintained. Love the new indoor mythic section as well. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, you will not be disappointed! They update the models regularly as well.

I love a model village and I’ve been coming here for over 40 years. I still think this is the best in the country and it’s updated and changed so there is always something to see. First time I’ve been since they added crazy golf which was great fun. Well worth a visit.

Truly is detail ! It is worth a visit never mind the kids it’s for everyone! Who enjoys more me or my son ! My wife loved it ! Well sign posted to spend time looking at the models to take pictures! Something for everyone & comical to laugh at ! Toilets fantastic! Cafe area fantastic well priced ! A beautiful sit down area out side to enjoy your food ! This model village is like a massive garden hidden gem ! They say at night it looks beautiful! Try it for your self & be a kid again !

How I want to give this a 5 star! But I cannot just for price reasons. £17.95 on the door per person...its an amazing model village, the first one I've been to since I was a child. But it was nearly £20 or £40 for two people, mentally it felt too much. I would of preferred it closer to £15 than £20. Anyway, the village was incredible, loads of unique things to spot, celebrity models to find and plenty of photo opportunities. You'll enjoy it, and it's just about worth it's money! (Or buy tickets in advance like we should of and save those extra couple of £££s.

It was such an amazing experience. From my point of view, besides the fun of looking at the buildings and the people, it's a great place to contemplate our lives from above. It's so well done. I recommend this location to everyone. It's great fun for children and adults alike.

Not visited here since I was young and walking in just brought back so many memories. The layout of the village is great, taking you down a hill. The place is very picturesque. We visited for one of the Summer Night Illuminations and it was great to see it all lit up. Had to use our phone torches towards the end to read the signs and properly view the exhibits. Maybe be worth having torches available for those who may not have a phone?

Such an interesting model village, definitely one of the best I've visited. Amazing detail in the models, some interactions and a "find where wally" for the children. Has got accessible paths but very hilly and probably difficult to push wheelchairs about. Thought it was quite expensive, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was very impressed with this model village, the detailing in the people was very good. Everything is well thought through. There’s arrows on the floor so you don’t miss anything. Very clean toilets. 4 acre plot with models all over. There’s crazy golf on site with a cafe and a gift shop. Overall a 5 star experience with reasonable pricing.

A brilliant day out which took us about 2-3 hours. Loved all of the displays and was great to see it's regularly updated with even small touches such as the recent FA Cup Final and King's coronation. You even get a game of mini golf! Make sure you book in advance online for 10% off entry.

A lovely place with just a few issues. If disabled like myself the village is very steep in places so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and take someone with you and try to go on a dry day. Needs some extra rails in places otherwise an amazing place very family friendly and the staff was very helpful.

An enjoyable couple of hours looking around. There were nice plants to make it look pleasant. We played crazy golf for free, which was very unexpected. They had a cafe , that you could eat in or out. A little bit steep in places. We had a very pleasant day there.

Such a fun experience. Never had a tour in a cave and felt so engaged by our guide (David). Enjoyed every second, a lovely cafe where we had coffee before and after our tour, laughing staff enjoying themselves. Had such a lovely atmosphere. Once in the cave, our tour guide “David” was brilliant, nice to be shown something by someone who is passionate and interacts so well with the group he is with. The operators really do have a gem with this tour guide, never had such a fun experience. I have not put many pictures of the caves in as you need to visit to get the full effect of how great they are and the story they have.

Lovely little visit. We caught the bus from Paignton which was a nightmare, but actually at Kents Cavern was great. We arrived early so we were able to move our pre-booked tour from 12.30 to 11am. We had a time for a coffee (which was delish) and Simon our tour guide was great he involved the kids in the tour asked them questions and was more than happy to answer questions at the end. He gave a warning about low head room and wet under foot. I have slight mobility issues so if you're the same please, please wear proper footwear, flip-flops and water DON'T mix. The woodland trail is steep but that's mainly the steps but it's great for the kids.

Amazing piece of history. Our guide Amy was very knowledgeable and funny and made the experience something to remember. I'd recommend to anyone in the area to visit here. Such an interesting place! The onsite cafe is lovely too and reasonably priced. All of the staff are very welcoming as well.

An interesting place to visit with your kids especially when is raining or is too hot outside. The temperature in the cavern is around 11 degrees all year around. You'll learn a lot of interesting facts from the tour guide. There is a small cafe and toilets are available also.

Great experience here!! Guided cave tour which was hilarious, but also incredibly interesting!! Well worth the money and time. Also a little woodland walk to do. The caves are fairly accessible with hand rails most of the way through where there's slopes.

This was my first time ever in a cave. It's worth it. Try it. The tour guide was very good. Kept us engaged the whole tour. The tour is about an hour. But you don't notice it. The cave itself is very nice. The temperature in the cave is a little chilly. About 10-14° it's quite amazing down there. You have a little safety briefing. And then some walks to various chambers. I can fully recommend this. There's a Cafe, gifts shop and on site parking. A kids recreation area too.

This was absolutely brilliant, both for grown ups and kids. We had a 6 year old and 11 year old with us. The guide was fantastic, the place was really well presented, there was zero waiting time for our slot. Really high quality tour, thoroughly recommend.

We were lucky enough to arrive at opening time and nobody else did - so we had the absolute pleasure of a tour for 2 with our own tour guide; James. What an amazing experience this is. James was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the caves and the geology of the area (I'm sure the other guides are too!) And he presented this information in an engaging and amusing way, always happy to answer our many questions and discuss things. The caves themselves are a must see if you're in the area - and are worth travelling to if you're not. So much history - and the ages of the caves, the dwellers, the bones that have been discovered and the rock formations are simply mind boggling. Cannot recommend this place highly enough for a really interesting couple of hours out - and if James happens to be your tour guide, you've hit the jackpot.

The tour takes 1 hour. Our guide Dave made this time very pleasant. The information he gave us was very interesting including why these caves in Devon are called Kents. Ever thought about it? Than ask Dave the tour guide.

We visited the caves during our holiday and our tour guide Abbie was brilliant! Very engaging and a great story teller. Abbie made the tour lots of fun and we really enjoyed the caves and it's history.

Brilliant evening here for the cinema experience. Was a very interesting evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cafe was brilliant. The only negative was the chairs, you felt a little like you was sliding down during the film. But wasn't enough to put me off. Fantastic experience !

The village of Cockington is a real time machine, stepping back in time to days gone by! It is a quaint part of south Devon which is well worth a wander around. The highlight is the Country Park which is accessible via a number of reasonable car parks. The park is packed full of beautiful trees and plants, water features and hidden paths. It’s a haven for dog walkers with lots to explore for kids too.. would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent old countryside village in England. Beautiful old cottages. Some classy gift shops. Green landscapes. Walking trails. Ample parking. Nice pub near parking.

Great place to spend a day strolling through Cockington Village. A really well preserved Country Park with a blacksmith's, thatched cottages, a church, large manor house, shops and tea rooms. It feels like stepping back in time. There are expansive grounds, tarmacked paths and cross-country walks. All very accessible. When I was young there used to be shire-horses which pulled carriages you could ride. These seem to have gone now but still a really chilled place to visit.

Amazing park! I love this cozy side of Torbay, this fabulous park next to the cottages is just the definition of a fantastic day! I am fond of the lakes there and people are so friendly. I love the stories on the benches by the way, they are so touching!

It's free 😁 . Very tidy. There is a free toilet by the kitchen gallery. Rose garden was amazing,the smell was so strong and sweet. Watching glass blowing was fun. Scenery was tranquil and beautiful. Thatched cottages everywhere. Food was very expensive imho But looked nice. Bought rum n raisin ice-cream ,very large scoop in normal cone, £2.25 good value😁

Brilliant day out,the walks round the grounds and lakes,the craft centre with blacksmiths and glassblowing amongst other crafts,plenty of Ben he's to sit and enjoy the fabulous views,cafes with wide variety of home made produce,quaint thatched roof buildings,not to be missed.

There are beautiful houses. In the park there is a beautiful church that you can go inside. There is a lot of different walking paths and one of them takes you to the beach. There is a beautiful garden there is a shop that you can buy hand made things that are made by the blacksmiths there. Parking is at the place as well.

A great day out with kids and dogs. Lots to explore and plenty of space for burning off energy. Spent about 4 hours here in total, including a drink in the pub. Only problem we had was the card machine in car park wasn't working and we didn't have enough change, luckily a very kind lady gave us some.

Excellent place for walking (especially of you have a dog)! Nice coffee shop in the main house. Lovely walks through the park. Excellent craft shops on site as well - highly recommended.

We love popping in to Cockington but was disappointed that our favourite Afternoon Tea venue has closed and now for sale sign of the times, over the road is a new Café opened with substandard Scones, dirty water for the Puggies, nit been cleaned for ages. They gave treats at least. The parking is OK with a friendly traffic warden as he takes a photo of your car for later when you are enjoying yourself so much he gives you a ticket, no phone app sadly you have to use a credit card or real money. A lovely place to visit and a few Craft shops and a pub etc

Cockington park is a beautiful place to visit with quaint 16th century thatched cottages, a visitors centre, craft shops, gift shops, gardens, children's play area, pub, tea rooms & a country house with sculptures & art inside & out. It's ideal for walking or picnicking & dogs are welcome. 🙂👍 Just make sure you have change for the carpark because the card machine doesn't work.

A really good day out with so much history. This was a place that we found by chance and was really impressed. We love history and this place was great for us. The displays were well done and the artifacts were fascinating. A great place for a good morning or afternoon, and is a good price as well

This almost living museum is brilliant and l would recommend all holiday makers and locals to visit. The cafe inside serves snacks and drinks with the staff attentive and helpful. Clean toilets and a so many brilliant diaramas and things to see complete a smashing visit. I am a local that has missed this little gem but l will return soon.

Definitely a must see, so much history. Looks small from the outside but once inside it spreads out over 3 floors, loads to look at & might need a 2nd walk around. Well looked after, clean & tidy. There is also a cafe on the top floor. There is a small car park just around the corner from them. Glad we took the time out to go visit it. Friendly staff & bought a ticket on arrival

From the outside we weren't sure if it was going to be great, or so bad it's good! Encouraged by positive reviews online we ventured in and had a wonderful time looking at all the displays of days gone by. Everything from Victorian living rooms to shop fronts to a literal stream train, as well as both World Wars. Very eclectic but brilliant. A fab way to spend a rainy afternoon!

Very good and informative. I like the Victorian era. Shame it had west ham in the museum. Good day out cafe up stairs was excellent.

A tardis of a place. So much to see. Nostalgia at its best. Though some of you will be amazed at what you remember from your younger days. There are stairs so not for those less mobile I’m afraid. It’s an old building so not able to be adapted. Cafe on top floor, only toilet on first floor tucked away. We felt it was worth the entrance fee paid. Take your time not a place to rush through. Each exhibit has a lot to see, some have buttons to press to which shows you more.

Cost was about £9 each. The walk is one-way and finished in a cafe. Very quiet at the time of visit. A visit will be no longer than 1hour, lots of items but a smallish place ro visit. At a push could spend 1.5 hours. *Price was reasonable *Can't comment on cafe as we didn't stay *Not sure where you would park if coming by car as on a main road. Overall a good experience

Beautiful museum with lots of history in there. Dogs are allowed. Nice cafe upstairs and possible to play really old gaming machines. Some of them require old pennies (there's changing machine present), some are happy to take modern 10 to 50p so would be good idea to carry change.

Really fab museum, lots of excellent exhibits and things to see. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the cafe was really nice. Overall really worthwhile visit, would definitely recommend.

Literally a chance to step back in time. Each room and shopfront full of objects from a bygone era. I'm in my late 50's and recognised objects from my parents and grandparents homes when I was a child, left me wondering would those ten or twenty years younger recognise any of these things! The visit was a real chance to slow down and enjoy quirky things that were everyday in the past. Would love to know exactly how they got a steam engine inside the building! Really loved the visit and would recommend to everyone but I should point out that its not geared to young kids more big kids like me.

Amazing show! However the theatre shouldn't sell seats that put you directly behind a pillar with a very poor view of the stage, at least without any notice when purchasing a ticket prior. Made for very uncomfortable and almost a pointless viewing experience. Also the back seats of the theatre are situated right by the bathrooms on both the left and right, and you can hear every door lock and every toilet flush throughout the show. Wouldn't recommend anything in row Z (the pillar seats) or in the back 5 rows. Would only come back here knowing now never to book these seats.

Fantastic location, putting on Stardust summer show. The venue is wonderful and the show was great entertainment. We'll done the dancer's, comedian's and vocalists all great. Bring the show to Weston-super-Mare next year I'm sure it will do well. Babbacombe theatre we will be back .

Saw the Stardust show last night with family on holiday from Australia and we all enjoyed the whole show. A lot of work put in creating a lot of laughter. We had not laughed so much in a long time. Well done.😄😄

Lovely theatre. Small and compact, sometimes better than the larger theatres, depending on what show you're going to see. So glad it hasn't had to close because of Covid. Staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful either in person or on the phone. The only downside is their booking website, you cannot book a particular seat/s online, that can only be done via booking office. Just been to see 4 Tops. Oh my goodness, what a fabulous show. One of the best I have seen this year. From Start to finish fantastic song one after the other everyone up and dancing. Absolutely recommend seeing this show Brilliant 👏

Went to see Don’t stop the music this evening what an amazing show it is. We were blown away with the show it was so professional Everyone involved were amazing what talent in one show. We will be bringing all our summer visitors to see this amazing show. Will be looking forward to seeing the show again

A popular and scenic venue for local actors. Torquay, Devon. Setting on a ridge overlooking the northern point of Tor Bay on the English Channel. Attended the revue, Stardust, Tuesday March 21, 2023. Grand performance, beautiful dancing, and singing, interspersed with wonderful comedy. If you're visiting the Torbay area, make a day spent along Babbacombe head and down to the beach, include a wonderful, famous lunch of Fish and Chips on the park bench and finish with an evening at Babbacombe Theatre.

Went to see Stardust. A fabulous show full of variety. Something for everyone. Singing, dancing a great magician perfoming classic tricks and a cheeky comiedian. The cast are fabulous, full of energy and enthusiasm. The theatre itself is fairly small and intimate but great atmosphere and in a stunning location. This show is well worth a watch, and you'll be supporting local live theatre. Looking forward to the next great show.

First time we have been and thoroughly enjoyed it. The variety show was fantastic and all who performed in it were great. The people of babbacombe and the surrounding areas are so lucky to have such a great venue on their doorstep

I went to see Stardust this week with my family, and we really enjoyed it. There were so many different performances that it was the perfect entertainment to please everyone. The amount of talent in the cast was incredible and the comedy was brilliant. I'd definitely recommend going to see the show if you're visiting the the area.

We all enjoyed the show! A good mix of acts! Dancers, "little Elvis's", comedian, magician/comedian and 3 fabulous singers! Good value for money! Bus from Torquay gets you there! About 2 hour show. Went back next day to purchase DVD!

Fantastic show last night on the 14th June 2023. We were rocking with laughter, singing along and very much enjoying the singing and dancing. Great show. What a night.

We went here last night to see Stardust, it was brilliant, Lighthearted fun. All of the staff were friendly and chatty. We loved that the cast were all local people who have obviously worked very hard to put the show together, the children were fantastic!! We would definitely recommend to our guests in the future and we will be coming back! Thank you x

I attended the Babbacombe theatre 29/07/23 with my family (all adults) to see the makings of a murderer with Scottish detective, David Swindle. Upon arriving, we were a little early, so we waited outside for the doors to open. When we got in the staff were all so helpful and kind, couldn't do enough to help us. They swiftly helped us to find our seats and also informed us of the consession shop at the front if we wanted to go over to get something to drink or some snacks. We had just had dinner before so we opted not to get anything else. But it was very busy and people seemed to be able to get a really good selection of drinks and treats and they brought them back to their seats. The seats are plush but could do with a little more leg room. However, they do give you a good intermission time to get up to stretch your legs, pop to the toilet or get more snacks when the consession shop reopens so its not too bad. We really enjoyed the show, the sound and lighting was great to get the full experience and it was easy to exit when leaving. The staff were again, very friendly, saying goodbye to everyone and wishing everyone a nice evening and safe travels home. The car park is really close to the theatre so it really makes up for it not having its own one. It is in a great location, lots of places to eat and drink at beforehand if you fancy it, a beautiful walk along the promanade before or after the show to take in the sea views and enjoy the pretty lights. We live local and have not been before. We will attend again!

Hi Guys, If You would like to eat something extremely good food from France 🇫🇷 DO NOT hesitate! Just jump IN and order something. Everything is on the menu unbeatable. The restaurant is perfect for any romantic date or just eat a lunch next to the pier. Anyway, there is a fantastic sea view… 😉 🃏

Lovely food and great service. The availability of the lift could have been better signposted downstairs as we struggled upstairs with a buggy, but that's my only quibble. Gorgeous sea views from the windows.

I recently used this place to celebrate my wedding. When we arrived, the table decorated by the restaurant with a banner saying JUST MARRIED. It was a really nice surprise! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. We had a table with a view to the sea. We had an amazing time spent here and will definitely go back. I can’t recommend it enough! ❤️

Loved this restaurant. Lovely menu and fantastic views across the bay. Even the inside tables have a great view. Lovely staff. Dog friendly too. We had the set menu for lunch, which was great. Not been to one before. Better than the similar red chain by far.

Great food in a stylish place with gorgeous view. Front of the house are very welcoming, plates beautiful, prices reasonable. I love the atmosphere in this popular and busy part of the town.

Very nice sea-front restaurant with a French accent. It's on two levels with indoor and outdoor tables on both. Packed during August, so we booked in advance. The staff are super nice and kind. We loved the food, it was presented well, tasted perfect and served quickly, despite how busy they were. Also, you can see the chefs working hard through a big window to the kitchen.

Such a great place for great French food, the prices are fine for the quality of great food. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious, presentation was was well delivered, and the service was ok, it could have been better. The atmosphere did not suit the type of dining, dining was classy and high end, but the atmosphere felt like a lesser choice for there decor. I felt like I was in an old diner.

We came here for dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday, booking in advance. The location is easy to find and a little set back from the street, with seating outside also. We had a very nice waiter who was very attentive, but his back up was not too good since the water and also a side dish were late in arriving. There is a relatively small but varied menu, outside the mainly pizza and pasta options. We ordered some olives (lovely) and calamari starters to share with house white wine (lovely) then some chicken and pork main courses (very good taste but small) with house red wine (very good) and water. The cost was around £55 per person which is not cheap, but very good overall.

The food was amazing. Service was good. Food is very reasonably priced. The only downsides were the tables felt a bit on top of each other and a bit too loud to hold a conversation without raised voices across the table.

Had a wonderful mother's day lunch. The service was good and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent and portions very generous. Definitely will be returning for more delicious food.

Amici restaurant in Torquay, UK, is a haven of exceptional cuisine where Natalia, our server, guided us with grace and expertise. From the fiery penne arrabbiata to the artful pizza bread formaggio and heavenly tiramisu, every dish was a masterpiece. The restaurant's ambiance was delightful, and the food exceeded all expectations. Amici and Natalia created a memorable dining experience, blending flavors and service in perfect harmony.

Great food, friendly helpful staff and yes the atmosphere was lovely although we only sat outside. Would definitely recommend visiting and tasting their great tasting food, 5 stars

Luckily it was open on Saturday noon at 1pm. Lots of seafood options to choose from. More options are on the board inside the restaurant. We went in without reserving a table. Within a few minutes the place was full. Very polite gentlemen, gave enough time to choose, were very considerate to the fact that we don't consume alcohol and offered us fish and chips prepped with tempura batter instead of beer batter. Best of all was plaice fish and shrimp in creamy sauce and butternut squash soup. Service and quality top class!

Dinner. Bistro style restaurant serving the best fresh fish. If you like fish,then this is for you. Homely, unpretentious, and honest, just like the cooking. Fish and shellfish from local boats and markets are simply roasted or grilled. Monday night, and the place was fully booked. Luckily, the boss man Paul managed to squeeze us in at the last minute. As well as the main menu, you can choose from the various special boards up on the walls. Before you choose, they bring a tray to the table to show you the fresh catch of the day. For starters Grilled Garlic Mushrooms - yes, not fish! £6.50 Seared Scallops - off specials board £13.50 Mains - off specials board. Fillet of Cod with Scallops and Prawn tempura £25. Three fish special. £25 3 fish, 3 different ways. All main courses are inclusive of vegetables or salad and a choice of potatoes. Of course, we had to have a portion of the amazing chips. Everything was cooked fresh to order, and service was very good as always.

Incredible fish here and very friendly staff. Owner Paul made our experience perfect allowing us to eat upstairs with a window view of Torquay Harbour. Our host, the bar manager was really great and catered to all our needs with great knowledge of Torquay and surrounding areas. Fish was fresh and cooked really well. Was recommended by a family member and really glad we visited.

Superb for fresh seafood. Came for dinner as a group of seafood connoisseurs! We were in the area for We all enjoy seafood and were spoilt for choice. We were a group of 5, and all dishes were perfectly cooked and well presented. I chose the skate wing and couldn't decide how I wanted it cooked. They offered to cook half and half, which was the perfect solution. Superb service and very accommodating with menu and requests. Highly recommended!

We had a beautiful meal here; sat up in the wine bar. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend. Great seafood menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. Lunch was a feast of all the seafood and fish we love. I had oysters, a starter with prawn, scallop and mussels, a main of a trio of fish with different sauces. My wife had a goat's cheese starter and a fish and prawn tempura main course. A good introdution to the selection of food on offer. Good desserts and wines. We plan to book for dinner when next in the area.

Breathtaking views over the harbour and a fabulous collection of wines. We were really lucky in getting a table due to a cancellation and sat upstairs in the wine bar for dinner. The gentleman working this area was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for him. Our fresh seafood was delicious. My partner had the crab and cod whilst I had king scallops and lemon sole. Both were beautifully cooked. Sadly, I have to say that the side dish of vegetables was very poor and lacked any thought. 2 new potatoes, 3 tiny chopped pieces of leek, some sweetcorn and one slice of beetroot each was very basic. Understandably the fish was the centrepiece and it was delicious.

Wow. What a brilliant dining experience. Can't rate this place highly enough. Such a wonderful and unusual selection of fish/shellfish dishes. It was difficult to make a choice but we opted for the King Prawns in Garlic Butter, followed by the King Scallops with Mushrooms. It was the right decision. Both dishes were quite amazing. Desserts were also served with a twist. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The good news is that we didn't feel the meals or the drinks were overly priced.

What can I say other than "This is the BEST Fish Restaurant" I have ever eaten at !! and I have eaten in some of the best around the world in places like Fremantle Perth, Sydney, London etc, Starters were amazing, Scallops only for my wife which were cooked to perfection !! and I had the Mussels in a White wine and cream sauce with King Prawn & Scallops and I must say it was the tastiest starter I have eaten (see picture) Mains - Wife had the 3 fish special with Turbot, Plaice & Cod which she said was utterly amazing, and I had the Cod with Tempura King Prawns & Tempura Scallops with light soy dip which seriously had me salivating just looking at it .... and the taste ... PERFECTION. I would come to Torquay again JUST to eat at No7 Fish Restaurant and if I could give a Michelin award they would thoroughly deserve it ... Brilliantly hosted by Paul, Staff attentive without being over bearing and just perfect food from the brilliant chefs !! You need to book it .... and normally 2-3 weeks notice at least !! I wonder why .... :) wait until you taste it and you will see... Fantastic and thanks Paul for the superb eating experience.

One of the best sea food restaurants we have tried in England. We had a great selection of specialties we could try and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!! A place to return if we come back to Torquay.

We frequently visit Torquay and have been here a few times after a friend recommended it to us. We recently visited after COVID and it was amazing. The food and service hasn't changed. Everything was amazing and food is full of flavour . We will be back next time!

On hols and looked for traditional pub for food. What a find ! Beautiful ,historic building. Fabulous food , the best homemade burgers I've ever tasted!. Friendly locals & fellow holiday makers and live music. Great atmosphere , really enjoyed . Fab place

This is without doubt one of the best places to eat in Torquay. This is our third visit. The staff are brilliant, the food is very, very good and the atmosphere is great. It's Torquay's oldest pub with a great selection of beers. If you come to Torquay, you must, without any hesitation, pay a visit. You will NOT be disappointed.

This pub has SO much character. Visited on a Wednesday lunchtime, quite quiet. Asked for a dark coloured ale, the lady behind the bar knew her stuff and recommended one. Once it had settled the chap behind the bar noticed it was slightly cloudy.. and immediately asked if I wanted something else, even though I had drunk half of the first one. Both were great tasting! Love that they cared about their beer! Ordered a crab sandwich and it was one of the best I've tasted and at a quite reasonable price! Very impressed, can easily recommend!

I WAS told about this place and he was right, The food is up to high standards. The beer just taste just like old way of doing it is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A good atmosphere. This pub is great its like going in time. To find it up a little street by the roundabout by the harbour, We decided to go there for 50th wedding anniversary. YOU SHOULD GO THERE it good. Recommended this place when we first arrived in Torquay. We had fish and chips very nice and a local real ale. They do a special lunch menu.Very interesting and quirky place with home style cooking. A bit quiet in the afternoon we went in but it was a Monday.

Very nice old fashioned pub. Went for a Sunday lunch which was good value and tasty. The service was good also. Why only 3 stars? I would have liked a better choice of meals as various specials were chalked up yet unavailable? .

Outstanding sanctuary in a town that is deffo pretty in places but definitely can ‘seem’ full of weatherspoons and seemingly people desperately seeking sky sports and the cheapest pint of carling black label - but this perfect little gem of a place, fantastic food, great ale, live music - it’s like the front door leads you into a different world/time.. Deffo recommended it here - I cannot stress this highly enough - it’s a perfect solid ‘100 out of 5’ Great selection of ales. Try the jail ale. Follow your Google maps, the place is set a little way back from the road and is easily missable but it’s so worth finding.. we spent 2 nights here the first was a live music, chatting to locals and 7 pint of ale type of night - it was so much fun; the second night we had the most beautiful trio of fresh fish meal in the restaurant - so light, tasty, fresh - stunningly delightful. I could have eaten the meal twice! The pub it’s self is ancient / steeped in history / low beamed ceilings. Did I say… try the jail ale. Absolutely stunning - I cannot stress enough ‘if you come to Torquay’ - you simply cannot miss this place !!!

Great discovery. A good fish restaurant right on the seafront. Efficient and fast service with helpful staff. I really like that the menu offers you the chance to support their local charity by ordering an extra portion of "invisible" chips. The money goes straight to the charity. Brilliant idea.

Very nice Restaurant,staff very polite, food was tasty, drinks were enjoyable. They have unisex toilets too , very well done.Elderflower spritz, with edible gold or Gold in Martini glass, with grey goose vodka & gold leaf.. The desserts are lovely , very enjoyable Experience, well done

The staff are helpful and polite but no one cleans tables between sittings, yes they are cleared but the table top itself was dirty. Price wise, it’s higher than you’d expect due to its location, it would be great to put some music on and create an atmosphere, the food was average, a bit like freezer scampi, nice chunky chips. Outside seating area need condiments, salt, pepper, vinegar, sauces etc. it’s ok to say just ask but you ask and as soon as you say the first item the server has run to fetch it so you’d have to send them back and forth which I’m not mean enough to do. Clean the tables, put some condiments outside.

Very good location on the sea front. Ideal for having a drink in the sunshine. Popped in for a drink. You have to wait to be seated and it was table service only. Press a button on the table when your ready to order (that's the theory). They have restrooms 🚻 with very interesting hand wash & dry taps. Review helpful like 👍 follow thanks

First thing to note is we had our meal from the walk-up window and ate it on a bench in front of the water. We had heard from some regulars that it's the same fish served inside but cheaper as you're not eating in the restaurant. We ordered the mini cod fish (which was surprisingly huge for being 'mini'), the battered tiger prawns, chips, and their homemade tartar sauce. Everything was AMAZING and so fresh, down to the tartar sauce which I want to see bottled and available at the store 😂
