This is a must see location if you are within 100 miles. Strasbourg the old city is just incredible for old buildings and interesting sites. The Cathedral is very impressive from the outside and the inside is just Great. The altar and the backdrop are very well done. The stained glass is amazing as well. I walked to the top of the Cathedral and highly recommend doing this if you can. Great views and interesting views of the Cathedral as you climb.

Very impressive building! Inside pretty dark and some part is still in renovation. The clock on the right side worth to see. I enjoyed visiting it. The most spectacular was illumination show, special lights and music at night. Wow!

The Cathédrale Notre Dame of Strasbourg is a magnificent cathedral in Strasbourg. It's tall and carries rich architectural heritage of historic France. The outside is full of intricate sculptures and details. Inside, colorful stained glass windows light up the place when the sun is out. You can climb up to the top for amazing views of the city and the ticket costs €8. It's a must-visit if you're in Strasbourg.

Absolutely beautiful! There is an amazing clock in the back right corner that does a little something every 15 minutes. It’s not amazing but it’s cute and fun to see if you’re around. The gift shop was great and some good finds for good prices. The nativity scene inside was absolutely gorgeous!

This was a beautiful cathedral in a beautiful city. Had such a great time. There is a little train right outside that you can take for 8 euro that will give you a tour of the petite France area.

Came over from offenburg Germany. It was a short drive. It was on a French holiday so I think it was extra busy. The cathedral was very pretty. You could walk around on your own. There was no English translations quite. If you get an app on your phone you can just shine it on the signs and it'll read it in English for you. It was a recording picking on every now and then to ask us to shush. Although I don't think we were being loud, the crowd was in the church at that time.

An amazing feat of engineering and architecture. The cathedral is huge and well decorated. It is the main draw card for the city and well worth a visit. There are many other sights to see around it but is is a good starting point.

Very impressive cathedral. It is breathtaking to look up and realize how small we are. It is a very historical cathedral and 142 m high. It is for free to go up the stairs. The view has to be amazing. Unfortunately the queue on weekends especially sundays is too long. But the city has a very nice atmosphere. I liked and enjoyed it a lot.

The cathedral is breathtaking from every angle, with stained glass, spires, and intricate designs living every inch of the building. You won’t find yourself bored when visiting here. I waited for maybe a minute to get inside and did not have to pay. Niece inside you are free to walk around within the designated areas. If you are feeling in the mood, you can buy and light a candle in the cathedral. There is also two gift shops!

A wonderful cathedral, truly a work of art in every way. Entrance is free into the church, but a ticket of 8.5 euro to take the stairs up - which you must do, the views are spectacular {approx 300 steps up and 300 down, on a spiral staircase}. The clock at the back is a marvel to behold, from the 16th century. The church area is peaceful, take some time to sit and reflect no matter your religion.

Such a beautiful setting with some amazing trees, lake and a very relaxing atmosphere. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main town itself. Tranquility and calm can be found here. The flower beds are full of the wealth of variety performer. I would recommend this for everyone. Young and old. The parts of flat makes easy access for wheelchairs etc. Beautiful absolutely beautiful

Lovely park near the city center and next to the European Parliament. It has very nice gardens to relax, a playground for children to play, toilets near a free car park, a small zoo. You can also find a café and a bowling alley right next to the car park.

Beautiful space to roam and play with kids. We came here on the hottest day of the summer (100 degrees F* on a June Sunday) and still enjoyed ourselves. We went to the pond, mechanic car kids track, the zoo, the fountain by the manor, and the playground and were sad to leave. Definitely worth a trip here if you’re in the area! Enjoy the storks, as the park is a reservation for them.

Very well maintained garden with plenty of room to explore! This place is great for an afternoon stroll or picnic. They have tons of gardens to admire as well as ponds with lots of birds. Not just for walking we saw lots of people on their bicycles enjoying the grounds! Highly recommend and will visit again!

A classic park with interesting vistas, wonderful open spaces surrounded by mature trees. Even a boating lake. As an extra draw there is a comprehensive zoo, and in the right season nesting storks. Play areas for kids too. We'll worth a visiting

This park is a bit outside the city. Perfect for just having a drink or a small picnic by the pond maybe feed the ducks too they're extremely friendly. There was a marathon and a festival type of thing going on in the park too so check before you go

One of the most magnificent parks that I have ever been too, if not THE most. The park itself is massive and has so much to offer. Lots of places to picnic, playgrounds, ponds and areas to boat. The flower gardens were my favorite and the storks of course! This is a must if you’re in the area. My only advice is to wear shoes/clothes you feel comfortable getting dirty because the paths aren’t paved, so it can get very dusty especially if there is a bit of wind.

A good place to see the city from a higher place, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed as I expected a better hight. Nevertheless, you can see the Petite France, the Covered Bridge and in between the towers the Notre Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg. We got lucky with a sunny day.

Barrage Vauban in Strasbourg (France) is an amazing site to explore European history from the 12th-15th century, mesmerizing old style designed homes, enjoying the markets full of souvenirs and taste the food from across the World. Had a great time during our visit here. There is also a big Cathedral here, one of the highest in France

This is quite a relaxing place to enjoy in Strasbourg. Although it’s quite a historical dam, defense system built in the 17th century, and a short walk from the busier La Petit France, this area is a bit quieter and perfect for a stroll or sitting down on the benches and enjoying the serenity surrounding this area. There are several cafes and restaurants nearby as well. You could also take the boat rides along the river Ill (if you had the time) that goes around this area.

Absolutely a must when you're in Strasbourg. The view of the town from the barrage is spectacular. Photos won't do justice.

Great sights, almost in the heart of Strasbourg. From here you have a great view of the city and the water canals. It's also an important link across the river. Entrance is free of charge.

Amazing views and amazing ancient site where defending the city. You can see the 3-5 great branches of the main river where the merchants quarantined due to the pandemics of the time. The 4-5 towers were prisons for the lasts days where the alleged witches were imprisoned. 3 different nationality imposed over 5 years. The Nazis brought in the medical elite and established a biological university in the city that would last 1,000 years doing experiments on humans. Luckily, the French, 5 years after receiving the news, liberated the city with a large army. GREAT HISTORY. LOT OF HUMAN CRIMES HISTORY MUST BE KNOWN SO AS NOT TO REPEAT!!!

With a cool history it also provides a great location to take breathtaking pictures. It provides the convenience to walk or take a bike inside the barrage and also one can climb the terrace for a good view. It has both lift and stairs to go to the terrace.

While in Strasbourg I saw this museum that explains the life of alsatians from the past and present. As a French I discovered that I knew almost nothing about them. It was very interesting! Also the museum was well made with some representation of old house and clothes. The staff who welcomed us was so friendly too. Think it’s a nice museum if you want to learn more about the culture of this part of France.

Visited on the 18th Nov 2021, cold grey afternoon in Strasbourg. Small but compact museum in a traditional Alsatian house with a courtyard. Its the information about Christmas, Hans Trapp, St Nicholas, Advent calendars that kept me amused. Great place to get lost in the past times of Alsace.

Very interesting museum with lots of artifacts providing a vivid glimpse of life in older Alsace. A slight downside was the shortage of audio guides when we arrived. This limited the information to mostly French and German but still provided an interesting experience. Maybe get there early for a guide in English.

Cosy, but rather standard small museum. Good collection, navigation, not overcrowded. If you are museum fun advise to buy a day ticket and visit half a dozen of nearby museums (mostly near the Cathedral).

If you’re a history buff and fascinated by how people used to live a century or more ago, this is a great place to go. Loads of interesting facts about Alsace and it’s culture. Highly recommended.

Great museum, also interesting for children (my 5 year old really enjoyed the "Easter egg hunt" at the museum). It's great to see an old Strasbourg building from the inside and get an appreciation of how the rooms were arranged. I thought the first half of the museum was better than the second half. The second half had perhaps too much about that exhibition in Nancy. It was interesting that part of it was a "museum about a museum" (as the museum was already set up in 1906). Definitely worth a visit, also with children!

I went on the first Sunday of the month (which made it free) and I found it interesting, but had I paid to get in I don’t feel it would have been a good use of money. There is lots of information on how people in the city used to live with 26 set areas you can walk through. If you like very educational museums this may be for you.

It's a great museum to get an idea of how the Alsatians were living before. It reminded me of the life that my grandmother was living in Romania. Similar wooden houses, tools. The entrance is 7.50 EUR. If you visit other museums you pay less.

The Christmas tree is really beautiful in winter. The marche includes lots of industrial commercialized products. You can purchase what you want.

Nice square , interesting story and great location. Unfortunately the place is used as a not so attractive market for stuff...and not for farmers market which is pushed aside to a back street. No shade and 2 many cars and others vehicles

Place Kleber is the largest square at the center of the city of Strasbourg in the heart of the city's commercial area, was named after French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber, born in Strasbourg in 1753. In the square is a statue of Kléber, under which is a vault containing his remains. Located in Strasbourg's historic center (the Grande Île ("Large Island")) the area was classified a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, .

Very cool place, there's a lot of shopping places, and the atmosphere of the place is a vibe with a lot of things happening there, furthermore there are some water fountain during summer. Really cool !

Nice place to see. But it was damage after the riot a few days ago. Many stores were boarded up with wooden boards. Also on a Monday lots of good restaurants are closed.

The tree is everything you want it to be! The marche itself has fallen into industrial commercialized products and doesn’t sell as much handmade stuff which is so sad :( The best area is right near the tree where they have charity booths where you can purchase items the are made by organizations to support different causes.

This is normally where the meeting point for some tourists. Nice square where a lot of shops around the area. This is also a christmas market spot.

This beautiful spacious square is named after Jean-Baptiste Kléber who was a French general during French revolutionary wars. He was also a very talented architect and designed a number of buildings at that time. He was assasinated in 1800 in Cairo while accompanying Napoleon Bonapart in the Egyptian Campaign. There is a sculpture of him in the center of this square.

We had Christmas dinner here and it was an amazing experience. The food is very traditional, filling and delicious. They had a special menu for Christmas’ day and that is what we ordered it. They are often very busy, and I made the reservation in the beginning of November, so if you are going to be in the area and want to visit this place make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. The place is beautiful, is in a cave and it was very festive for the holidays. Service was friendly and very attentive; the portions are very large and the prices were very good. A must to go while in Strasbourg.

A very old restaurant and the milieu is excellent 👌 The menu is quite traditional and good. However, the dishes we tried, the three kinds of fish was disappointing and bland, the veal kidneys taste was quite strong and she didn't enjoy it as much. The liver salad was the only good dish outcome. Perhaps, it was a poor choice of menus at our end, but we enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. However, the male server wasn't the friendliest or keenest to assist my friend's inquiry about the menu, because she has some dietary restrictions, which was disappointing. Also, they had no soups on the menu, which was strange for a traditional brassière.

The Entrees were very generous portions, almost as large as a main. The service was the best I had in Europe thus far. When the entree was finished, the waiter immediately requested the mains to the kitchen which came in less than 5 mins. I was really impressed by the quick and simple service despite being fully booked. The Flammekueche was smoky with a smoky taste to the bread and bacon too. We dined for lunch, but it has a late evening feeling during day time which is very cosy in the cave interior.

Went there for an alsacian dinner in summer. Wonderful set up in an authentic cave underground. They specialise indeed in alsacian cuisine with a wide selection of dishes. Waiters are knowledgeable of the menu and attentive We had escargot and Grumberrkieschle (potato galettes). Somewhat too salty to our taste but coupled with a delicious Riesling. Recommended

Was just there by myself while on a work trip in Strasbourg, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s right in town near the big cathedral. Food was good, service was pretty good, and it is a really neat physical space that the restaurant is in. I tried the sauerkraut with meats, a fois gras appetizer, along with a dessert tarte flambee. All were delicious! Plenty of bread was served as well which was good. I got a half carafe of one of their white wines (dry Riesling) which hit the spot.

A nice kelder with a tasty and substantial Alsace kitchen and friendly staff. A special plus point is increadibly good location in the city.

Unfortunately a tourist spot. Prices are as high as at really (!) good restaurants a little further from the centre. Plus the food is not good at all. Tart burnt and yet floppy. Chicken with Riesling sauce too done and rather a standard dish...

Loved loved loved this place! The ambient is nice, service is friendly, helpful and quick. The wines and food are amazing! We had the cheese platter and got a beautifully arranged, wide selection of tasty French cheeses with some professional commentary about their origins. Looking around us in the restaurant, all other dishes looked also great and smelled delicious. If you are in Stasbourg do not miss this place, because you will definitely get delicious food and wine here. Thank you for our amazing lunch.

If you love cheese, this is the place! Sure, I was happy to get out of the rain and into a nice, cozy, dry restaurant but I was so happy to have some delicious cheese. The raclette & fondue looked and sounded delicious (I almost ordered it to get the pickles), but I went with the 9-11 cheese plate. The server explained each type of cheese the correct order to eat them. I followed his instructions. 🙂 The blue cheese was my favorite but had some new and tasty cheeses along with it. Husband went for the duck breast with potatoes cooked in duck fat (amazing). Service was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful lunch. I would definitely recommend this place.

Had a very nice day dinner here. We had wine and 2 kinds of fondue - pay one price and eat as much as you can. All the servers were very polite and helpful. They made a recommendation for us about which cheeses we would like most and everything they suggested was great. We didn't have the raclette but it also looked very good. I couldn't stop watching the melting cheese. Make sure to make a reservation!

A historic cheese factory in Strasbourg. Very nice establishment in true French style. Cozy. This restaurant Has a large selection of cheeses. Offers an original all you can eat formula of fondue and raclette eating. They bring bread and fondue to your table at all times Until you are full While for raclette same formula but they leave you ar the table half wheel of cheese with dedicated tool to melt it at the moment. Good wines and nice atmosphere. Only drawback is an intense smell of cheese at the entrance of the restaurant. It is very difficult to find a dinner table there is a 6-week waiting list

We came there for the fondue, the environment is kinda nice, but the service is bad, they are working in a hurry and for the price that I am paying, I want to eat in peace. The fondue is ok, but the bread basket that we got was horrible. The bread was extremely dry and stealing all the taste from the cheese. Later on, we got a basket with nicer bread. They do not offer a simple coke in the menu?!

We had an amazing dinner at La Cloche a Fromage, our last meal in France before departing back to the US. Wow, what a great experience, the service was outstanding in every respect! Make a reservation ahead of time because the restaurant is very popular. They do have outdoor seating, but to guarantee a seat inside, book in advance. We didn't have the fondue, but ordered duck, beef and pasta dishes for the four of us. Everything was wonderful. We also had the tasting version of the cheese tray that had about 17 different cheeses. The Master Cheesemaker explains each cheese and how they go from mild to strong in flavor. This Wisconsin raised girl was impressed. Highly recommend having dinner here for wonderful food and service!!

A must for all cheese lovers and those who don't love cheese "yet" ;). I tried one of the platters with different types of cheese and some come with a good pairing of nuts or confitures and got some background on the origins of the different cheese from the staff, all in all great experience. Also tried a warm meal ( pavé de skrei) on another occasion and it was finger licking good. Excellent wine choices as well. Don't forget to reserve beforehand, it gets quite busy. I'm docking a star for inattentive (borderline rude) treatment from one of the waitresses, but I'm willing to believe she had had a rough day. The rest of the staff were very accommodating and friendly on my first visit.

After eating up the first fondue, you can select other kind of cheese, so you can enjoy several kinds of fondues. Friendly staffs surprised us at the time. Wonderful cheese experience in the heart of Strasbourg. Really special the raclette and fondue! Really strong deep smell of cheeses which makes all the experience very particular to make. It could appear a bit expensive but it is no-stopping serving. So if you order raclette or fondue will be as much as you want!

Absolutely fantastic place in Strasbourg. Service is top notch, ambience and the building itself is amazing (it’s a historical horse barn type of building), and the food and drinks are some of the best in town. I ordered a steak rare and they properly cooked it rare exactly as ordered! Be sure to order appetizers like the steak tartare, and enjoy your main courses, but save room for dessert!

This place is a real gem. Food is always excellent. It's somewhere I will "stretch" for something I may be uncomfortable with normally, as they do everything so well. It's a great setting as well, in a historic building just on the southern end of Strasbourg. Great for dinner or lunch, and as normal for France, a reservation is a must.

This is one of those rare places in which you don’t know what is better: the location or the food quality. I would say both. All of my colleagues and I were impressed by this restaurant, as both the meat and desserts were truly tasty and elaborated. Besides, the wine list is extensive and selected. We will come back.

The Bottomline: beautiful space, excellent service, superb food and wine list. We went here after visiting the Christmas Market area and it's easily one of the best restaurants in Strasbourg. Ambiance: 5/5 - what a beautiful space! It's a bit of a walk from the centre of Strasbourg but once you're in the vicinity you won't regret coming here. The place itself is connect to a hotel so make sure you go to the restaurant part of the place. Food: 5/5 - see below. Starter: we ordered the tarte flambee and it was good but I think next time we'll order something else since the taste is similar to what's around the area. Main: We ordered the Herdshire Beef Steak -regular and rosinni style as my partner and I both love steak. Both were excellent but I preferred the Rossini style, the foie gras was melt-in-your-mouth and the steak was cooked to our liking. Cocktails - my partner ordered a beer and I ordered a Kir Royal which I found too sweet. I switched to their wine recommendation and it was immediately better. We skipped out the dessert unfortunately, hopefully we'll have more room next time!

Better than Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to. Kind staff, amazing food (especially desserts were better than perfect) and very nice atmosphere. Portions are quite large and therefore even better value for money. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

My husband and I enjoyed our Christmas Day lunch here this year and all in all a fantastic meal and experience! Personal favourite dish was both thoroughly enjoyed was the langoustine, we also opted for matching wine pairing which was very good. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

A fantastic place, with great service and fair prices for top gastronomy. In my opinion, they are working strongly towards the second star. The ambiance in the room is outstanding, the service is attentive and professional but never intrusive. The food is masterful and definitely worth a star. The wine selection was excellent and mostly very regional, with a 1982 Barolo for a marvelous finish. We had an outstanding evening that we will certainly not forget. The highlight of our Strasbourg weekend trip. Many thanks to the whole team!

Au Crocodile one of the top three restaurants in Strasbourg. We were lucky enough to have a booking on the same day for dinner. The setup of the place is truly unique I a great artistic way. From the beautiful painting dating back to 1874 and the Crocodile at the entrance even to the lighting and table setup. Service is good and most spoke English and had good knowledge about the serving. We chose the Chef set Menu which is basically a surprise of choices selected by himself. Unfortunately the food didn't meet our expectations also the price which was 331 € for two. Hence my three star rating.

An absolute star of Strasbourg. A beautiful dining room, excellent service, extremely precise and creative Haute Cuisine. Have had both the discovery and degustation tasting menus with full wine pairings. All was fantastic. If you're unsure about getting the lobster addition, it's absolutely worth it and I'd highly recommend it! We had one in our party with a Nut Allergy that chef was able to full accommodate for all the courses necessary. Well worth the visit.

One of the best restaurant experiences (Top 5) I had in my life so far. Amazing degustation menu, very attentive and friendly service personal, perfect and delicious wine pairing, everything was 100% perfect. Definitely a recommendation. Worth every Euro you pay. Great atmosphere sitting right in front of this huge painting they have in the main room. You even get a personalized summary of the menu you had at the end of the evening.

Great meal. We tried several dishes, including the pork knuckle with saurkraut, salmon and noodles, and Caesar salad, all of which were great. The only item that I probably would not order again was the onion soup. Service was friendly and English was spoken, however, the menu was only available in French and German. Pricing was fair (about $30 usd per person), particularly considering its location very near the cathedral.

Despite being on the Cathedral's surroundings, Au Dauphin is not a touristy place. We have been welcomed without a reservation and received such a great service from the staff, and especially by our assigned waiter who advised us with the local dishes to taste and paired the wine to go with. What an experience! Thank you to the staff and the kitchen for this fantastic discovery of the Alsacian specialties.

We had a lovely evening with Au Dauphin! Matilda was a fantastic server! We enjoyed the onion soup- it wasn’t cheesy enough for my American taste buds but it was certainly delicious. Ask for more cheese! We waited a little while but when our chicken cordon blue came- we devoured it! It was superb! They make it with chicken and ham that is made with chicken! So it is good for people who do not eat pork! Highly recommended!! We walked in around 8pm and they sat us right away but we recommend a reservation.

Great place. Touristic but nice. Great food: you can eat and taste national cuisine Alsacienne: flammekuchen, choucroute. Prices and portions are reasonable. Waiters are nice and recommend. Nice internal space to see cathedral. So definitely recommended.
