St. Augustine

The oldest city in the United States (founded in 1565), St. Augustine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a proud town steeped in history. Spanish explorers first landed here, and the city was the first capital of colonial Florida. Today, visitors can learn about the past at Flagler College or the Lightner Museum, or soak up the Old World atmosphere with a stay at a historic inn. Modern-day adventurers can book a fishing charter or golf trip, or go birding on Anastasia Island.
