This is the best zoo I’ve ever been to. All the animals are very active and fun to watch. They have a large variety of animals so there’s something for everyone. The transportation included in the ticket is amazing. The 30 minute free bus tour gave us a great overview of the zoo and let us see a lot of animals. The guide was very sweet and very knowledgeable. The kangaroo buses made it very convenient to get from exhibit to exhibit. The zoo is very large and it took us a whole day to see everything.

There was so much to see here. We spent about 6 hours and didn't see all the animals. All the exhibits were entertaining. The free gondola ride across the zoo was great. Free parking. Reasonably priced food, drink, stroller rentals and souvenirs. Would definitely go back to see what we didn't get to see this time.

We had a great day at the zoo! Parking is close and free, which is amazing! We took the zoo bus tour first thing, which gave us a good overview of the park and helped us figure out what we wanted to see. We loved all the methods of transportation through the park because it is so big. There is a kangaroo bus to 4 different areas. We didn't use this because we decided to just walk it so we wouldn't miss exhibits. But we did the aerial tram from one side to the other and back. We also used the elevator by the bridge two times to help with the hills. We happened upon an animal encounter by zoo workers with an aardvark. So fun! The animal enclosures are so beautiful, as is the park foliage. We ended up staying until 7:30 pm, much longer than we expected. There is so much to see!

This one is a most do!!! Great zoo!!! It's huge so I definitely recommend to get there early, wear comfy clothes and shoes so you can see the whole park because is definitely worth it, but to see it all u have to be early. It's very clean and beautiful also u can bring your own snacks and Beverages. Small coolers are allowed and if not they have so many restaurants and places to buy whatever u need. One more thing bring sunscreen and enjoy!!!

I recently visited the San Diego Zoo and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was amazed by the vast array of animals and the beautiful environment they were in. One thing that stood out to me was the care and attention given to the animals. The pathways were easy to navigate, and the landscaping was lush and vibrant. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into creating a welcoming and visually appealing space for visitors. Overall, my experience at the San Diego Zoo was nothing short of exceptional. It's been a few years since we've been here but it has changed in such an amazing way!!! The new children's area is great!!! They have beautiful new exhibits, new buildings and structures. They have a wet play zone for the kids with waterfalls, arcing waters and splash zones. They also have a dryer you can pay to use to dry off too! They have amazing new merchandise for the kids as well. If you haven't been here in a while, I'd highly recommend it! We had so much fun!

Let’s be real- this zoo is just unbeatable. It is a magical experience just to walk through it , let alone to witness the stunning variety of animals and plants. Hands down it is a must-see of San Diego. Definitely download the app and try to do the bus tour early morning or in the evening as I think the animals are more lively. There is always a chance that you won’t get to see some of the animals but you won’t be disappointed with the monkeys, koalas, and the many stunning aviaries. The history of the zoo and its many many animals is also captivating and a gift that keeps giving after you leave. It is definitely doable in one day but another day may have alleviated some of the angst of seeing or not-seeing some of the animals.

We had a wonderful time! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everybody was wonderful. Even the crowd was relatively nice and respectful for California. we had a great time. We saw lots of animals rode the gondola and had funnel cake. The park was very clean. We couldn't have asked for a better visit, and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!! **UPDATE** We ended up staying for the last show, and it was amazing! Lots of energy, and you could tell the performers really enjoyed what they were doing, It was very enjoyable! I would highly recommend staying for it!

My daughter and I did the roar and snor. Our experience was amazing. The tents were well maintained. The bathrooms were well kept. The food provided was decent, typical camp food. Plenty to go around. The late night snacks were a welcome plus. The staff was professional and friendly. The tour guides were amazing and very informative. The grounds are beautiful even in the midst of construction.

Great clean and beautiful zoo, I definitely recommend to get there early so you can see most of it, and it’s definitely worth the time and the money. Loved the bus/ shuttle system and the gondola sky lift. Also you can bring your own snacks and Beverages. This place is great! Plenty of benches and shady spots along the trails. I spoonful advise you bring a water bottle which they will refill with water or buying a free refill soda. Plenty of animals to see. Plenty of things s for kids to interact with. There's a reason this is considered one of the best zoos in the world. Definitely a must visit if visiting San Diego. If local buy the champion membership. Skipping lines, separate entrance, and includes wild animal park as well. Good for 2 people and you get two free passes. So if 4 purple going. We loved our trip to the zoo and would heartily recommend it to anyone. In fact, we have to put it as the number 1 attraction in San Diego. It really is something not to miss when you are in the city. We took the guided bus tour first and it was a good way to see the whole area before the walk around the zoo. There are restaurants in the zoo and the food was great. Would recommend wearing comfortable shoes since it's a big area you'll be walking. Take a stroller if you go with children or you can rent one in the park which costs you $16.

The zoo was such fun! It was clean and well-maintained. The restrooms were clean and the staff were friendly and nice. There were plenty of places to sit and get out of the sun. The animals' cages were well kept, and there was a good variety. We rode the tour bus and took the sky tram with ease, and had a blast. On a Friday morning/afternoon, it wasn't too crowded, although we had to wait about 45 minutes to pickup our tickets, so it may help to add some kiosks to aide with this in the future.

Being the most pricey zoo I’ve ever seen before, it’s totally worth it. This place doesn’t just take great care of their animals but they really care about the cause of protecting them. The tours you can go on at the zoo are fantastic, the place is so big you could spend all day there being entertained and you would still have more to see! While the price of a bottle water is $6.50, at least it’s going to a good cause. The Zoo is incredible and really lives up to the hype it has.

Great place for groups, families, and/or couples to stroll the paths and view the animals. Feeding time is the best time to go. Mid-day is probably the least favorable time to see the animals out and about in their areas. Parking is free. If you go mid-day or later might as well start looking for a spot in the closest isles and work your way farther away. Their are food choices but not as many as the wild animal park. Hard to believe there is a zoo in the center of a city but when your in there you forget.

The San Diego Zoo is definitely one of if not the best zoos in the country. There are so many animals and so much to see and do. The exhibits are nice and the whole zoo is really well put together and maintained. It’s slightly expensive but worth the price. We had a variety of ages in our group and everyone had a great time. We got there just before it opened and had no problem with parking.

Well worth the six hours we invested. An amazing piece of history. Liked the self guided audio device you use to scan the displays you want information about. They have a kid's information scavenger hunt that once completed they get wings in an award ceremony. They loved it. Several speakers explained operations on the Midway; very interesting and given by prior Midway servicemen. Learn from their experiences while they are still around, a piece of living history. The Cafe 41 has a good selection of lunch items. A good place to take a break and have a snack or lunch. Don't forget there are several flight simulators you can operate for a fee, but several cockpits that are free to set in and take pictures. Video presentations everywhere you look. A great day of history and the kids won't even know they are learning about history. Win, Win

I had an excellent time aboard the USS Midway! The ship is a very well preserved and document piece of history that you could easily spend a whole day on just learning about all the ways this ship used to support our country and how the brave men and women used to run the ship. The museum also features many modern tourist attractions such as full motion flight simulators and a VR exhibit. I also really appreciated the many veterans working on the ship that are happy to answer questions and provide more details. Definitely check out the gift shop before you leave for some nice souvenirs that support preservation efforts of the midway and support veterans. Overall, this is a great piece of military history that’s not to be missed if you are in the San Diego area.

Great experience! Spent 3 hours walking around. Could easily spend more or less time based on your plans. Audio tour is included. You get to go through so many areas. The staff are so friendly and a wealth of knowledge and willing to share personal experiences. Make sure you bring your walking shoes as there are small stairs to go up and down on a well. Only caution is if you're over 6 feet tall, you'll be ducking often!

We loved the experience! Hubby loves airplanes and we were so thrilled to go in and stroll around the museum. It was soo tiring because a lot of walking but it was so worth it! we really go in every single part of the ship😂 Love to be i. the deck.. took a lot of pictures and post in social media. love it so much.. well be back !

This place is amazing! I got to see the maritime! This is very interesting and educational for everything that it offers to learn more about what happened. I found that the simulating rides were pretty amazing. And I love that the volunteers are most of them are veterans. Highly recommend this for everybody stopping by the harbor and enjoying learning about our history. Thank you for giving me an experience of a lifetime!

Such a cool idea for a museum, a historical aircraft carrier. Been here multiple times and still enjoy coming here when family is visiting. You get to actually explore the interior of the carrier, with different rooms staged as it would have been when out at sea. The flight deck is also a must see as you can go inside planes and helicopters. It's a great way to spend a few hours with the whole family And even learn a few things. I recommend the audio tour. They also do events like during the Big Bay Boom.

Perfect experience coupled with the gocity pass. Very perfect execution from storytelling to hands on to living quarters. I took a whole day to finish this place. Go straight to the theatre near the entrance and the tour at the top deck in the morning. It gets overly crowded later leading to long waits. And take the two talks too. The speakers are very knowledgeable and definitely gave a good understanding on how the top platform works. There's lots to see on the sides of the top deck, additional rooms and a basement. But go for the talks first to have a better understanding of operations before walking around. Food is definitely decent too. Took the chicken strips and they were good although salty. And if you have kids or have a kid inside you, take the 4d rides at a price (I didn't). Recommendation: You should also visit the nearby peace monument too.

Amazing experience, kids and whole family loves it. The veterans volunteers on board talking about their service was just amazing to hear. Come early before it gets hit out on the deck. They have vending machines and is very accessible even for stroller and all. Amazing view of downtown San Diego to boot.

We decided to check out the USS Midway as my partner is currently active in the Navy and he was interested in seeing how an aircraft carrier compared in size to his current ship. The history of the Midway is interesting to say the least! The volunteers on board are all very welcoming and informative. They give a great tour of the island (must do) which will give you lots of information on the history of the ship, and why it will likely be the last of it's kind to become a museum. Leave ample time to see everything. We arrived around 2:30, they closed at 5pm and we still didn't get enough time to see everything. So we had to rush down to the lower level to see the bunks as I wanted to see what my partners life is like underway. Thank you to the veterans and everyone else there. We really enjoyed our experience.

What an amazing place. We spend about 5 hours touring the ship and had a great time. We even had a late lunch while there. Was a bit expensive, but was still good. We enjoyed seeing all the different places on the ship. There were even a few places where the staff or maybe volunteers explained how things worked. We really enjoyed listening to them and the different stories they had. I would highly recommend visiting this amazing museum. You won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing tour, make sure to take the audio device (free.) Also, be aware you will have to walk a lot. If you want to see all the areas, is around a 3.5 to a 4 hour walk depending on how detailed you are and how much of the history of the vessel you want to learn.

Touring the USS Midway is one of the coolest things I have ever done... If you are at all interested in history and or the military I would highly recommend you stop by. I spent 5 hours here and could easily spend another 5-10 hours. Thank you to all the men and women who served on this wonderful ship!

Beautiful place to walk along the coast or along on the coastal trail. Peaceful, beautiful place to relax, go for a swim, see the sea lions, pelicans, cormorants, listen to the ocean and see artists setup booths.

An amazing spot to catch a whole number of birds, sea lions, seals, dolphins and if lucky, whales too. There's a nice lawn to have picnics and play around. There's a bunch of people going snorkeling in the coves as well. A must see spot on your visit to San Diego.

A great place to watch seals, sea lions and sunset. Weekends are a bit crowded with tourists. You get to watch the seals pretty close up. There are also stalls selling merchandise and more.

La Jolla Cove is an absolutely gorgeous area. The snorkeling is fantastic, can get a bit crowded near the the shore but plenty of room for all once you’re in the water. The views from above the shoreline are absolutely incredible. Great opportunity to get up close with sea lions and seals in their natural habitat. The views are absolutely stunning. If you’re in the area I highly recommend you cost. The city itself is really cool too, small town feel with a bunch of shops and restaurants.

One of the most beautiful beaches in California! It was a nice walk along the beach seeing the different animals. Even saw a bunny. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well kept. Some local vendors to buy your memorabilia. So peaceful. So relaxing. I didn’t want to leave! I’m so grateful for San Diego ❤️

There are too many tourists, but it is worth visiting. This is the gathering place for pelicans, seabirds, sea lions and seals. Observe these lovely animals at close range. I thank nature for giving us these gentle animals. Being with them, I feel It's peaceful and beautiful.

A beautiful park and walkway right along the Pacific Ocean. You can go to a couple coves where you can get up close to Seals and Sea Lions along with their pups! People snorkel in the children’s cove and you can get splashed walking along one of the lower sidewalks. Lots of vendors along the sidewalks. Public restrooms and showers to rinse off outdoors after coming back from the beach.

True gem. This place has everything - gardens, museums, restaurants… if you are little lost, stop first in visitor center. They will give you a map, explain and inform what events are happening right now around. Very useful. I was amazed by architecture which was really close to the Andalusian one.

Best place to visit with kids, family and friends. Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre (490 ha) historic urban cultural park in San Diego, California, United States. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the San Diego Zoo. most its regular 4 to 5 hours if you want to cover all area.

Great park with a lot of attractions. The museums are great and worth getting a season pass or finding a deal online to go to multiple. The gardens are beautiful any time of year and great for a stroll. The architecture was the incredible. Walking through the court yards and walkways will yield a visual gem around every corner. Parking at the zoo and walking over is the way to go. Its free, plentiful, and easy to get in and out even at peak hours.

If you are visiting San Diego this place is a must see. Bring your walking shoes and get ready to walk through the many Museums, theaters, shops, and wonderful views this place has to offer. It was nothing of what I expected, the Balboa park connects several Cathedral style venues on this wonderful walkways that include the San Diego Zoo, the Natural History Museum and several other museums. We didn't even have time to see everything. There is a tram that takes you to all the parking lots. I went there on a Tuesday and it was very crowded, so weekends must get really packed. I highly recommend this place if you have a day to kill and spend some quality time with the family or significant other. Although I saw many snack vendors, I didn't see many good restaurants so I would recommend bringing some sandwiches or whatever you can bring to eat. There are many areas to sit under the shade and relax on the grass or a bench. We went inside the natural history Museum and paid the admission but was a little disappointed with it. It probably took us around 20 minutes to see the entire Museum, compared to the natural Museum in L.A., this place was very small and was in need of more exhibits. Other than that, I gave Balboa Park an A+ because it really impressed me.

I've lived in San Diego for a decade now. I'm not a huge beach guy... Too crowded... Too many sharks... Too much sand. But Balboa Park is damn impressive! They have acres upon acres of green space with winding paths, gardens, bridges, and water features. They have world class museums with amazing architecture. They have a world class zoo and probably one of the only outdoor urban archery ranges?! Unfortunately they have a non-migratory transient population, but that's pretty much all of San Diego. And the place is big enough to share anyway. I feel like Balboa Park is always the perfect temperature too; Close enough to the ocean to have a cool breeze with tall eucalyptus trees providing relief from the sun. If you're coming to San Diego for the weekend, don't miss out on Balboa Park.

Certainly one of the nicest spots in San Diego! Hosting the historical buildings of the universal exhibit, it can be easily visited on foot. Different museums can be found on the way. The park is huge, and it needs a full day at least for a proper visit.

Gorgeous architecture and gardens! Well worth the visit, even if you don't go inside the museums. There's such beauty everywhere, food and gift/trinket vendors, a couple restaurants, and talented music performers placed thoughtfully throughout (electric violin, acoustic guitar, flute etc). Start at the information desk to get a map. If you do want to go inside the museums, they have a rotating daily schedule that lists what buildings are open that day, which is usually a handful. Wear good walking shoes and get there early as the afternoon is very busy.

Nice park with 2 expos that held here. As a results, the historical building and museum along with impressive garden are spread around. Music performance, park, restaurants, it’s a place to chill and spend lovely time with friends. It’s larger than I expected. Love this place.

There is so much to love about this bridge! It's truly a San Diego icon and great to photograph from any part of the city and Coronado. I do wish they had a bike line or a walk path for the bridge since you can't see the views that well when driving on it.

Views from the Colorado Bridge are so amazing. Such a beautiful sight. Down below is Chicano Park and crossing it is the suburbs of San Diego. You gotta drive thru at least once if you are visiting. It's a landmark!

Iconic San Diego… lovely to see from San Diego, going under in a boat, flying over in a plane, and driving over to Coronado Island. Beautiful at sunrise, daytime, sunset, nighttime…graceful, Art.

Visiting San Diego from the UK and recommended to come here, so made a reservation. Very traditionally-styled restaurant in a great location. Bar seating is very limited if you’re waiting for your table, otherwise you’re seated on a couch nearby. Our table was outside the main restaurant but still in an enclosed area overlooking the sea. Personally I think there is a fine line between ‘traditional’ and ‘old fashioned’. For example, I anticipated that the fish mains would be served on their own with the side dishes in separate bowls to share, rather than everything being served on one plate. For me, the portion size is then a little ‘over facing’, taking something away from the food itself. Just personal taste, I guess. Nevertheless, the food was good and tasty, and the service was really friendly and attentive. A very nice but not great experience.

I’m a bit surprised I didn’t know about this place. The food is really good, and they have an extensive menu with lots of fresh fish. The meals include your choice of 2 side dishes (the cauliflower was awesome—I highly recommend it.) Our waiter was a bit stiff, but he did a fine job taking care of us. Thanks!

Great place for fresh seafood with excellent views; there’s something for everyone on the menu. Ate here on a Sunday evening with a very minimal wait both for seating and dinner. To be honest, our server was kinda awkward and seemed out of sorts.. maybe just a long day? The food was great however, the Peruvian shrimp ceviche appetizer was spot on. The Fish and shrimp curry could use a bit more curry broth, but the flavor was great. The Scallops were seared perfectly and that dish was amazing. Our daughter had the teriyaki chicken and rice, but the rice seemed old and was a bit crunchy. Overall, a pleasant experience and solid choice for some great seafood and views.

Location, location, location! Fabulous food, great service, amazing views! What more can you ask for? Fresh fish is their specialty. We had swordfish, fresh caught locally. Clam chowder is my thing. The Fish market has creamy decadent clam chowder served with french sour dough on request. Parking is paid. Valet parking available. Right next to the Bob Hope memorial, The Kiss statue, and the USS Midway.

Beautiful view of the Bay at this restaurant. We got great service and laughs with our server. It's a shame i don't remember here name. I had the Swordfish, which was tasty and cooked perfectly. Great place, great people and great view! Very exposed to the sun if you are eating outside but the breeze from the bay cools you so you don't overheat ;)

Great food and cozy place. It has a great view of the ocean. The clam Chowder and the Fried Calamari are a must. The Fish and chips are crispy and very well cooked. I would definitely come back again.

My Wife and I we’re celebrating our anniversary in SD and this restaurant was AMAZING! Food was delicious everything we had was delicious. Service was on point we never really had to wait for our server she was always around when we needed something. We sat at a table right next to the ocean and was totally worth it great views and super relaxing to say the least! If I could give any criticism the Parking fills up fast but seems to be a common theme in San Diego! 100% recommend! We’ve considered taking a day trip just to go back! Haha. Will definitely be back when we go again!

This was my first visit to this restaurant with bunch of friends, and we were not disappointed! Great atmosphere clean place, and most important the food was super fresh. We ordered different dishes, like lobster tail, Oysters, crusted calamari comes with rice and green beans and it was delicious. Also we had the wild pacific swordfish, very tender and moist comes with potatoes, green beans raisin topped with almonds. The chowders was so good and they have it in 2 different types New England and the Manhattan chowder which is red Seared scallops and vegetables, also crispy octopus. Don’t forget about the fish and chips. The service we received was excellent. Definitely we would be back to try more dishes.

It was one of my favorite spots in San Diego . Our table by the water made our last day perfect!! The oysters Rockefeller was on point, full of flavor as well as the clam chowder. My fresh Tuna poki bowl made my pallet jump for joy every time i took a bite. I can't wait to go back and will make this place a regular stop.

Everybody knows the Cove, THE Cove at La Jolla, was a crowded place you can seldom find a parking slot. I visited the Cove several times, once with my family, once with my parents, once with my family and MIL, and also once with my daughter she had a room at the Cove and stayed there for several days for her UCSD final examination. That time, I mean I sent my daughter there to the hotel, and we were the only two people who wore the masks at the beach, it was weird, but we do scare off the pandemic. Guess what, I got a parking spot recently, just in front of the restaurant called Ocean Terrace at George's at the Cove, just in front of it. I went there with my daughter at my girlfriend's friend's invitation. We walked up the stairs and sat at the top of the ceiling and I don't know what was underneath. On the rooftop, the weather was so good even in November. Little windy but still warm under the sunshine, we did some chat and enjoy the food. It's a casual and relaxed weekend morning at the restaurant, or maybe not the weekend but it gave me the feeling of a weekend. We just hung out there, ate food, and did chatting. The food was good, we had mussels, tacos, and hamburgers. I asked the waiter to cut the hamburger into two pieces and eventually, I got two plates with full fries, full onion, and tomato with a half burger, that's so good service. The patties I wanted medium, it was just the point of the raw medium with a little blood, I love it. I have to say it's good, especially at the Cove, a tourist point that can provide so good food at a normal price, Good!

Had dinner on the roof top restaurant ! Amazing view of the LaJolla cove! Watched the seals and sea lions during dinner ! Our entire family rates the restaurant a 10 ! The food was delicious ! We all had the flat iron steak, rigatoni pasta, lava cake dessert and espresso martini! All were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The outdoor heaters were perfect for the cool night. Definitely the best dinner of our trip ! Can’t wait to come back again !

I’m so so disappointed by this experience. We came here 5 year old and we loved here. And I saw George’s at the Cove joins restaurant week, so we come here with our friends for this special experience. But they don’t take Restaurant Week serious at all, the service is super slow and unprofessional. The foods are so so, they are not bad, but definitely not the level as I remembered at this restaurant. My friends fish taco is very dry, I think the street fish tacos probably taste better. And the most thing disappointed us are the cocktails, they are not cheap, all like $15,$16, but we double they put any alcohol in it?! I mean, maybe because it’s during the restaurant week, so they lower their quality? But they just lost me and my friends from their future clients list. Plus their bath is very dirty.

Impressed. We had reservations at the rooftop terrace for 4:30 today. We received a phone call from the restaurant at 1:00pm, notifying us that the rooftop would be weather permitting, and they offered us a table downstairs. Such a thoughtful and appreciated phone call! When we arrived, the rain had not started yet, and we were able to sit outside- husband, wife, 2 & 4yo. Incredible view. The kids crushed their salmon and broccoli- a refreshing meal after several days in Disneyland. Adults had the swordfish, steak, & side of fries for the table. Drinks: Margherita and old fashions. Finished with a cappuccino and a brownie/coconut ice cream as dessert for the table. All were phenomenal, flavorful, well prepared, & perfect serving temps. We are foodies, and this was all superb. To top it off, Hank our server, was a complete joy to have as our company. Kind, humorous, attentive, & thoughtful. He was knowledgeable about the menu, & ensured ideal food arrival times for a family with young children (kids meal out first). He was so refreshing, and unlike many, has mastered the art of conversation. Thank you, Hank, for helping us have such a relaxed, wonderful vacation evening!

Great place to eat lunch, we visited last week and loved it. We ordered the cucumber salad, crispy shrimp, tuna sandwich and fish tacos. My favorite dish was definitely the shrimp, accompanied by sweet yellow chili peppers that complement the dish spectacularly and a tartar sauce that highlights the flavor of the shrimp very well. The dishes are generous in size, so we ended up satisfied before finishing all the dishes. This restaurant definitely has the best view you can find in the La Jolla area. I recommend accompanying the dishes with an ice cold beer to further enrich the experience. The kindness of the waiters will make us come back again.

GORGEOUS VIEWS! Great food. I can't wait to come back. The peel and eat shrimp is really tasty. The salmon and steak were delicious. The chocolate dessert.....OMG!!

Stunning roof top views! If you want to be out of the potential sun opt for the 2nd floor. But the views up top are awesome! Good is delicious. Burger is huge! Mussels are fabulous (ask for 3xtra bread. You'll thank me!) Thumbs up if these pics ir review have helped. Ty.

I booked the premium ocean terrace seating for $300. $50 to hold the table and the other $250 to use towards our bill. Celebrating my husbands birthday and wanted to do something nice. We got to the restaurant, checked in and had 20 minutes until our reservation. Got a drink at the bar and realized… we could have just damn well sat open seating at the bar and not paid $300! I WAS SO UPSET. You had a view of the ocean from any table. Everyone was dressed casual and in beach wear. The food was okay and not worth the hype of fine dining cuisine. My steak ordered was medium rare and came out medium to medium well. All around, if I came back, I’m gonna sit at the bar. Don’t spend the money on the premium seating. First picture is table. We were recommend to go to George’s at the Cove by two people in Texas when they heard we were visiting so we made our reservations a month in advance online. We did need to make a change, when we called the person helping us was very helpful and had more options available for us to choose from. The food was superb. Our favorite was the smashed cucumber salad followed by the seared rare local yellowtail. There is a lift on site for those that have mobility issues. If you can get a spot on the edge of the terrace we highly recommend it but the whole terrace is lovely. There are heaters.

Consistent, fun, jsut as advertised. The burgers are great, there are vegetarian and vegan options, but don't come looking for a salad. The Guido is excellent, and the onion rings are maybe the best I have ever had. But don't skip the fries, they are great too. My wife had the veggie burger and enjoyed it. I took a taste. I will stick with the meat, but I found it flavorful. Service is very good. It is a place for anyone, including kids.

Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes to get a seat during lunch hours on weekends. From 11am to around 3pm the line is constant. If you are ordering to-go you can go right inside and order - the line is for people who want to eat inside. Obviously you can see a ton of stickers covering the entire restaurant, which is pretty neat. The single bacon hamburger is pretty good, but nothing mind-blowing. There's far too much onion inside the burger. The onion rings were also beyond awful, by far the worst onion rings I've ever tasted. WAY too much batter and the onions were limp and wet inside. They weren't even crunchy.

We tried this place for lunch today after hearing so much hype. We really enjoyed our experience. I say experience because it was a lot of fun! We had about a twenty minute wait in line, which wasn’t bad considering we arrived around 1pm. When we got to the front of the line we were seated at the counter facing the street and it was perfect for us. We ordered two meals: the mini bacon cheeseburger with everything on it and the Guido. Both were delicious! We had one small order of wedge fries and one small order of onion rings. Both cooked to crispy perfection! The portions were large and we weren’t able to finish our food. We also ordered a strawberry shake with malt in it. So, so good! Definitely highly recommend this fun spot. I loved my mini bacon cheeseburger!! We were given some Hodads stickers at the counter when we paid our tab.

I enjoyed the novelty and experience. The food was big and juicy just as I expected. The only thing I didn't quite like was the feeling of being rushed. Other than that I would definitely go and try out the food. Usually this restaurant has a longer wait time on the weekends so if you can go during the week that would be best. Make sure to take a sticker unlike me.

Hodad's didn't disappoint in it's fun and funky restaurant and staff. The day we were there, it was crazy busy. The guys working there were hustling and moving fast...all so friendly too. They ran circles around the only woman waitress there! Local beers were cold and wet! The onion rings were the best we've ever had! So hot and crispy. So so good! The burgers we had were delicious and juicy. Almost too juicy as they broke up the buns quickly! But, nevertheless...good. Crazy atmosphere, living up to the hype.

The mini burger is big enough for one adult. The inside of this place is decorated really cool with stickers and fun art everywhere. Very busy inside, though, there is ALWAYS a wait for seating inside and to-go food.

The go to for burgers in San Diego. Every other burger place should take a page out of their book. Waited in line for them to open and we were sat quickly and the service was prompt and very friendly. Food tasted amazing and was fresh and hot. I would highly recommend going here!

Hodad’s Ocean Beach restaurant has the Best burgers and the onion rings for so amazing. Hodad’s has such a fun environment. All the food comes out fresh and is made finally fast. The staff is very friendly. The price is great for the large portion sizes. You need to come eat here. This restaurant was also on the tv show Diners Drive-ins and Dives (DDD)

Fantastic food. The burger was pretty massive. I’m a big guy and even then it was super filling. I’d get the smaller burger next time. Food value was great and portions are big. Wedges/fries where pretty good. Service was good to. Not a bad place to eat.

We came to California from AZ and this was our first stop on the way in and out last stop on the way out! The burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes are the BEST!! If there is a line outside be sure to wait because it moves quickly and you don’t want to miss out on this delicious food.

The Mother’s Day Prado Brunch. The brunch here is one of the best. I dare say that it is a bit of a hidden gem, as the Prado only does brunches twice a year: once for Easter, and once for Mother’s Day. I’ve been to a number of different brunch places, and I have to say that Prado does it very well. The selection is fantastic, with a variety of meats, seafood, fruits, salads, vegetables. All very fresh, and all very tasty. I have spent more on brunches that were no where near as good. You would be really hard pressed to find a better brunch in San Diego. Well done Prado! Plus, afterwards, you can enjoy walking around Balboa Park and enjoying the various art shops and nature trails.

Amazing location. Showed up during happy hour (2:30-4:30pm). Normal menu is "prix fix", happy hour you can mix and match menu items. Ordered the Farmers Salad w/ chicken, Mac and Chesse w/ Beef Brisket and Loaded Fries. The salads were good and Mac and Cheese was pretty good. The loaded fries were not very loaded and came in a clear 3rd place. Great scene, come take in the sights and sounds of Balboa Park.

We ate lunch here a few years ago and according to my wife I was underwhelmed. Tonight we were tired from trekking around balboa Park so we decided to give it a go for dinner. We were not disappointed!. The Pradoritas were fabulous. Our server Alex was top notch. I had the braised short ribs, my wife the sea bass. The presentation was eye popping, and the sauces were exquisite. Great desserts and coffee to finish off. Loved the ambiance. 10/10 would go again.

Nice outside patio with good food and service! Service and welcome: we got to Prado around 12 pm. The entire team was friendly and we were seated right away. Our server was great! Food: the burger was awesome and so was the Arugula Salad. See pictures, I highly recommend both. Price: $18 for a burger is on the high side… but was worth it. This is not your fast food burger! It’s a juicy Kobe burger! Also, if you got food from the zoo the day before, then this price will seem just normal 😁 Recommendation: if you are visiting all the museums in this area, stop by, try the burger and fries! Worth it in my opinion!

Ate here with a party of 5 for lunch when they first opened at 11:30am on a Saturday. They can get filled up pretty quick (there were no reservations available when we looked the week before), so we showed up before they opened to be first in line. It was definitely worth it, because everything was delicious. The atmosphere inside is really cool - a fun intermixing of Spanish, Mexican, and San Diego style and decor. We shared the confit potatoes and calamari fries for appetizers. The calamari fries were excellent with a slight kick, and the potatoes came with a vibrant chimichurri that really made the dish. I ordered the paella, which was excellent. It was a perfectly sized portion filled to the brim with mussels, scallops, fish, shrimp, chorizo, and chicken. We shared three desserts at the table, all of which were delightful. The flan was dreamily creamy with a perfectly sweet caramel; the piña colada crème brûlée was very unique and had a beautiful harmony of flavors, and the German chocolate cake was solid. The server was also very friendly and attentive. I would love to come back again sometime!

The service could have been better. Once seated our waitress forgot we were there. The risotto I ordered was subpar and was garnished with a closed flower from a squash plant, and not made well. My husband's BLT looked good but the food did not match the atmosphere. The food was not worth the high prices. I would not recommend.

Good place for a lunch while visiting Balboa Park. The food was pretty good and the service was awesome. The patio had a nice view. My entree salad lacked balance, being way to heavy on the vinegar and nothing to offset the tartness. My wife had the Mahi fish sandwich, which was delicious. The bread was a small baguette, served warm with butter. And, the Guava lemonade was super refreshing and delicious. I'd recommend this place and would go again.

Great San Diego outdoor patio dinning with great food. Everything came out exceptional. Eating on the patio in balboa park at the Prado is a mini vacation in itself! Sandwiches are only available at lunchtime. My only complaint is they add an extra 4% surcharge because prices have increased; I wish the prices on the menu reflect that instead of adding the extra 4% at the end.

Excellent service, from the moment you walk in, to the time they bring you your food. Always making you feel great! The views are delightful, their cocktails are delicious. Try the burgers and tacos!!!

Amazing place for lunch while visiting the Comic-Con museum (or any other museum in this museum filled area!) 1. Beat grilled mahi sandwich I’ve ever had. Such soft bread, tasty orange sauce, and fresh lettuce & tomatoes! 2. Amazing Kobe seared Sushi!

It was an experience to go downtown where they call it little Italy. We were going to eat Japanese food at first and my friend was driving by this place ... all of sudden she's like Italian food because this place has the best Italian food. I agreed even though I wasn't in the mood for Italian food. As we entered the restaurant through their grocery store it became interesting to see their shop first. As you enter the building the aroma hit me like a ton of bricks and it made me hungry for Italian food. We were able to order our food and decided on a combination plate where you choose 2 entrees. I chose spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs with cheese ravioli. Unlimited bread and butter. It was a perfect choice. We were full but decided on dessert because we were celebrating our friendship, departure and embracing / planning to do more spontaneous trips to see one another. Because we live in different states. We can always count on food 😋 because it brings people together anytime and anywhere. Happy eating 😋

Filippi's is a MUST when visiting the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego - they've been around since the 1950s for a reason! I love the authenticity of the restaurant from the original building to the decor to the entry market that sells authentic Italian groceries. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious and the service is always reliable! When you come here, you best come HUNGRY! We always start with the fresh garlic bread and house salad. The garlic bread is literally a full baguette smothered in garlic and butter - my mouth is literally watering right now just thinking about that bread! My Husband ordered his favorite Margherita pizza, which depending on where you're sitting, you get to see made fresh to order in their open kitchen area and is so delicious. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with ravioli as my pasta - HOLY SMOKES IT WAS GOOD! Like I said before, you must come hungry to Filippi's because the portions are large enough to share. You won't be disappointed!

For starters, we had no idea the restaurant was so large. From the outside it seemed like a cute little restaurant, but it was spacious! The store next door was wonderful so you could purchase some of the things you enjoyed in the restaurant. Service was kind, the atmosphere was fun and the food was delicious!! Portions were very large and perfect for sharing many different entrees in our group. A must try if you're in Little Italy.

Absolutely amazing! 👌🏼🔥 Everything smells and tastes fresh. My wife and I ordered the pepperoni pizza. Amazed by how great this tasted. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating. She was attentive and made us feel like family. We also ordered the chocolate cake just to taste it. It too was also fresh and delicate.

This place was very cute! The service was good but the waitress didn’t seem as though she really wanted to provide recommendations on their best sellers or what to order. We ordered thin margarita pizza and it was awesome! We also ordered the small antipasto which was enough for two people. It was an experience but I am not sure if we would go back. We would definitely snag a sub from the deli/market. I was expecting a lot more, I think, unfortunately with how well-known it appears to be based on reviews.

Wow! What a gem of a restaurant! It was a beautiful day and I was lucky enough to score patio seating. The server was fabulous (Tina I believe?) she made sure I had all the things I needed! The pizza crust was good, but it was the massive amounts of cheese and toppings that were my favorite! The sauce is a bit sweeter than I’m used to, but it could have been from the pineapple topping. Either way it was delicious and saucy, the way I like ‘em! I will definitely return and try some of the other options because they looked delicious on yje nearby tables!

Amazing restaurant and atmosphere. Family friendly. The staff is very courteous and attentive. Definitely coming back for the amazing authentic Italian food and friendly staff. We ordered a pizza (enough for three people), ravioli (enough for two people), and a salad (enough for two people). Bread and butter was free.

I’m rating this restaurant based on my most recent visit. I’ve been here before and had a better time and food. The restaurant is very charming and cozy, and has a very great and cute Italian market inside. with 5 different ambiences, 4 inside and 1 outside, there was still a short waiting line, but tones of empty table, so they are clearly short on staff, which also affected our server, which couldn’t be much attentive. We ordered pizza, which I’m usually a fan, but this time wasn’t as great as the others. The cheese on the pizza is delicious and they add a great amount, but the toppings were mediocre and not much added to our pizza. Points for having parmesan cheese at the table.

We were seated outside with awesome people watching and an outdoor heater to keep us comfortable. We enjoyed dining family style with a big pizza, lasagna, salad, and bread sticks. All were excellent. They were really busy but our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive despite the crowd. The bread sticks alone are worth coming here for. Hope to be back!
