The Alamo was beautiful to see in person. My wife and I enjoyed seeing it because we love to visit historical places. The building holds such rich memories. The architecture alone is astounding. If you are ever in San Antonio, I would encourage you to go by and witness it. We also had a tour guide and it was all worth it.

I mean, it's the Alamo. Can you really rate it less than 5 stars? Really, though, it was a must-see in San Antonio. Free to visit the actual mission and its grounds, though you currently have to reserve a timed entry for the church. We found that the times were fairly loose and not strictly enforced. The museum on the property containing the collection of Phil Collins was about $14 and a really great addition to the rest of the attraction. I really enjoyed it. The audio tour was an additional $10 and while it may be worth it to some, it is a medium I have a hard time staying engaged with, especially at the Alamo. I found that it mostly read signs that already existed, so it was kind of a waste. All in all it was an amazing experience and incredibly rich in history.

I highly recommend taking the guided tour at least once. The tour guide was very informative and fun. He took us through the history of Texas and the war and even told us some facts we didn't know. The Phil Collins exhibit was awesome.

It was good experience coming here. Straight to the point entrance is free but you need to get free ticket from the counter to enter. The people who like guided tour you can buy $50 (estimate) ticket to get that but i think its pretty much self explained . Its very hot in summer so be prepared for that. To enter exhibition there is ticket for sure but that you can buy on there gate inside. But everything else is free , so just get the free ticket and take some good pictures inside.

I visited The Alamo on a Thursday morning and did not have to wait in line to go in the church which was nice. It's a very interesting tour and I definitely recommend seeing this piece of American history. Everything is well preserved and the grounds are very clean and well kept! Admission is free which is nice, especially these days. The gift store has lots of branded items to purchase but the prices are significantly higher than I expected. There are also actors portraying people from that time period which is a fun addition to the experience. Pro tips - across the street is a visitor center that has bathrooms when you need them and better prices on Texas memorabilia and you can't park on-site, so you'll have to walk a little to get to your destination. Lastly, the area around this historic site is very touristy and has lots to do but that also lends itself to panhandling. Please be aware.

Simply put-you truly need to visit!!! I love visiting The Alamo, and have made the journey twice from Austin in the past year. The preservation and detailed historical data is something to behold. It is amazing for us to look at a historical battle site that is hundreds of years old and be able to envision the events that occurred there. As you walk the grounds to intricately laid out details it will be a huge wake up call and an expansion of your knowledge base. This is a must see for all.

Nothing like seeing history up close and personal. Parking around the Alamo is super expensive though! But what are you to expect with it being downtown and near the river walk. There are a lot of statues on the grounds with placards to read. Don't forget the gift shop. You can even see a real cannon and cannon balls. If you're a history fan definitely recommend.

I honestly expected to spend 15-20 minutes here, but ended up staying for almost 3 hours. Such a magnificent place that's steeped in Texas history, truly a sacred place to behold. Only the museum costs money to visit, everything else is free, which is a wonderful surprise and I'm sure it helps bring in visitors. The buildings are air conditioned to help you cool off on those hot Texas days. They have a short documentary film playing in the long barracks building to tell the story of the Alamo. I loved the metal dioramas outside that showed the change over the years. The gardens were breathtakingly beautiful to walk through and there are 2 of the largest live oak trees I've ever seen that are around 150 years old. Many statues and lots of informative billboards depict the historical importance of the Alamo. They are building a new structure to expand the experience that will be open in 2 years. My only complaint would be the gift shop. While they do offer some locally made products, the majority of their products is overpriced imported Chinese garbage. I'd rather they have 1/10th the selection of it was all made in the USA or locally sourced. Avoid the gift shop and enjoy the history.

Beautiful sunny days are definitely for coming here! It was very relaxing to take the different scenic walks, and there walks even a museum you could enter (for $5). The gift shop had something for everyone, and they even did displays of loading and shooting an old musket just at the entrance of the Alamo. I'd definitely come here again.

They are currently in *Construction Mode* to expand and they are scheduled to be completed with those works after the New Year! Tickets are FREE, and simply require you to reserve a specific entrance time! Good additions to this trip are a Hat for the Sun, and some water for the heat, they were accepting of water bottles! This is a really good stop on any road trip, A/C is throughout, and there are a number of surrounding restaurants and establishments. There is a LOT going on, and at any time of the day there will be moderate crowds. It's not too bad, but still very noticeable. The Alamo is just SOAKED in history, listing all of the fighters known of, with flags, carved stones, plaques, statues and gardens dedicated to their legacy. An immensity of information that I was completely unaware of was revealed through the in-depth exhibits and artifacts presented throughout, and they offer an audio tour for those that prefer their exhibits in Stereo, but this feature comes The staff was incredibly informative, very nice and proffered details on each exhibit as requested. Every piece had an in-depth explanation nearby, and staff were always present to assist. Gift shop has some fun items, and while priced a little high in my opinion, I understand it's proceeds are going to support their restoration efforts, fair enough in my book. They also sell Water and Frozen Snacks, as well as overpriced junk food! Hopefully you enjoy yourself if you decide to visit!

My biggest compliment to the folks who run, guide and maintain the Alamo is that they don’t let the commercialism overshadow the reverence, particular Texans, have for this place. It is a museum, a tourist destination, and a great source of living history. You see the church much as it was constructed although most of the mission is now gone. you have wonderful photo opportunities. It is full of signs and stories and including guided tours where you should leave there fully educated as to what happened on that faithful day. Oddly enough for those who have not been there, the Alamo is located in downtown San Antonio only a couple of blocks walk from the Riverwalk. So any visit to San Antonio,whether the first or many, should always include a brief visit to such a famous American landmark.

We truly enjoyed our visit to the Alamo. For us it represents a wonderful glimpse into the turbulent past of Texas. Most Texans I know are proud of their State and rightly so. This is a very well done and nicely recreated shrine to the memory of Texan independence. This is a must see when in the San Antonio area.

Very educational, and we can't wait till they get the new stuff finished. The kids learned a lot, and I'm so thankful for the knowledge the employees had and wish there could've been more. We didn't do the tour and went about it ourselves. Everything was clean and cared for.

Had a very fun time. A lot of things to do. It was made even better by the friendliness of the staff! They were super nice and very friendly. It was pretty clean. The wait was a bit long but definitely worth it. A ton of rides as well as other things. They do have a program for active military service members to get in for free with their family which was very nice of them to do!

Unfortunately, Sea World has gone downhill a lot. You are greeted with $37 GENERAL parking when you first arrive. It isn’t included in your $80-$90 ticket per adult price. Security doesn’t check anyone’s bags and the metal detectors go off but they tell you to keep going anyway. Then, you are welcomed with $8.50 bottles of water in the middle of a Texas summer. You aren’t allowed to bring in any food or drink. I waited with my kid for a water slide ride for 2 hours and as soon as we got to the gate, they said they were closing down the ride. Everything from stuffed animals, to water, to nasty food is so skyrocketed in price that they’ve hit outer space. No aquariums at all. A small penguin and puffin exhibit. The roller coasters all had 1+ hour waits at all times of the day. They overcrowd the Lazy River and the Wave Pool so they can get as much money as possible for the day. Way too many people at one single attraction. I was excited to go, but won’t be back.

We had such an amazing time!!! Beautiful animal exhibits, fun rides, clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. Each animal experience was beautifully built with plenty of space for the animals! I'm definitely coming back very soon!!! Even though it was 100° almost all day, we had an amazing experience! Make sure to take advantage of the free ice water throughout the day! It really helps with the intense heat!

The five stars go to the shows: the sea lions and the orcas were amazing. The park overall is definitely worth visiting, more than once too. The only suggestion to the future visitors is that the quick pass for the rides is a must, otherwise you will spend hours waiting in line.

We had an excellent time here with our family and friends. We recommend getting there as early as possible. The park opens for 10am and we were able to stop get the up close parking. The park is spread out and the rides are great. Definitely get a fast pass so you don't have to wait on line, it's totally worth it. Also, get your drinks that can be refilled for free all day. It's the only way to survive the heat, that and the amazing Chill Out Bar!

Had an amazing time with the family. I definitely recommended if your looking to have a great time. The different slides are so much fun. Overall, it was a great experience they do have many places to eat and drink and small store to visit and shop.

Enjoyed this place a lot with my family. Not only are the animals beautiful and exciting to watch but they seem to be well kept after. Big fish fan here, just loved seeing their reef and the beautiful eels they have on display. Make sure to come to the shows early and get a front row seat on those really hot days. You won't leave there without a gallon or two of water on you. Rides are great fun and during our trip, lines were short. I recommend a weekday visit.

Great park! 10 times better than Sea World Orlando. Rides were fun, fast, and short line when I went. It's located on top of a hill so you get nice view, long walks from ride to ride, and plenty of shades. Love that they have plenty of seats for you to sit and wait, or just enjoy the view. Family enjoyed it a lot.

Parking was packed but enough for everyone. We walk through the gate without any problems showing our tickets from the phone. We had the all day meal plan which is a must if you’re planning to spend the full day there you will recover the $30 in your first meal. All the rides were really good some of them were just a five minute wait which is awesome even though the park was full. The park is small enough that you can walk from one end to another in a couple minutes but make sure to bring comfortable sneakers and sunscreen. Lockers are available throughout the whole park and you can rent them per hour or a full day pass. It’s Sea world so come mentally prepared to get soaked in some of the attractions. If you stay long enough you will be able to watch a night show and if you’re lucky some fireworks too. Overall the park is great however there are a few areas of opportunity on the logistics with the waiting lines on some of the attractions. We will definitely be back at some point hopefully when they finish the construction with potential new rides.

Enjoyed it even though it was 100+. There’s a lot of shade, plenty of water activities, and attractions inside to cool off. We were able to see most of the shows and get on several rides. We also showed up pretty early. Glad we did as it got crowded as the day went on. Good experience overall.

We have been to SeaWorld multiple times over the years. Each time has been a great experience. The park has been well maintained and has many entertainment options. Our visits have been during spring break and summers. The heat can be rough in those months, but there is plenty of shade/cooling options. Lines for rides aren't usually to bad, but shows can fill up quickly during peak times. The shows are well done and always fun. Food/Drink options are typical amusement park variety. Plenty of shopping options as well. Parking is best if you get to the park easy in the morning, but there is plenty if arriving later in the day.

I never seen anything like this before, so I was impressed by the caves.The fact that caves were natural was cool and the history of caves was attention grabbing. The offered 2 tours each which cost $31 per person. One of the tours was hidden path tour (more difficult path but more unique features) and the other discovery tour (family friendly, easy to navigate and good for first timers). We chose the hidden path tour. It was surprisingly warm in the cave about 75-80 degrees and wet so make sure you grab yourself a pair of food shoes prior to entry. The tour lasted about 50 min. You go down deep inside the cave about 180 feet by stairs and then come right back up. So if you have knee or hip problems, or other physical limitations this tour is not for you. Tickets are sold on site there so no need to order online in advance. 4/5 only because the entry is super overpriced for such a short tour. They really commercialized this place. Also, they are still discovering and prolonging the cave and shall finish by March 2023 so there will be a new tour available.

I've been here several times over the past 30 years. It has definitely grown and become more commercialized but I understand its a business. Definitely gives off an amusement park vibe. Its still a cool place to visit and take your kids. Lots of neat things to see.

A beautiful natural wonder. The caverns go pretty deep underground and are filled with many beautiful things to see. The tour guide was very informative as well. Just make sure you're in good enough shape to be able to climb back up from the very bottom of the cavern as it is quite a long journey uphill. I recommend visiting and seeing the beauty of nature.

Amazing experience indeed this is one of the "world premier show caverns, and one of the most attraction in Texas". 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Good for families, has other activities for kids of all ages. Bought the discovery tour pass for around $30 online. Took around 1 hour. Tour starts on time. Need good walking shoes because there are natural water formations on the ground, can be slippery. Has good hand rails for steep areas. We had no problem walking the whole cave. but advisory for people who can not walk decline/incline hills and unable to handle humidity. Our tour Gal, she was very knowledgeable & funning. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Kudos to the whole team: the explorers & planners. The construction and layout for the cavern was very well thought out. Would love to do the hidden passage and adventure explorer next time. Yes!!! highly recommended.

Commercial Caverns would be a better name. We have been to SEVERAL caves/caverns in multiple areas of the U.S. Our take on the Caverns themselves at Natural Bridge Caverns were wonderful and we truly enjoyed seeing them. Everything else about the visit left much to be desired. The walkways and paths into and out of the caverns are very nice, be mindful that they're quite steep if you plan to tour. I'm not knocking them for this, just awareness if you plan to visit. The tour itself consists of multiple "tour guides" staged throughout the caverns to elaborate on that portion. Wasn't a bad idea compared to having a single tour guide IMO, BUT...... THEY NEED TO WAIT ON THE ENTIRE GROUP AND SLOW DOWN WHEN TALKING!!!!!!!! We were towards the latter part of our group, and I honestly don't think I could tell you three sentences from the guides. Again, we really enjoyed the Caverns themselves....everything else was a complete turnoff for us. Overall takeaway is that I felt like I was in a tourist trap with prices comparable to major theme parks. Seemed like we were rushed through so the next herd could get in, get out, and make way for the others. For a family of three to do the combo tour and ropes course it would be nearly $300 dollars........ We WON'T be back! Too many other attractions in the area to go broke here!

Experience of a lifetime! Two separate cavern systems to explore with well-trained tour guides. If you plan on doing both tours be prepared to walk at least 2 hours in high humidity. They provide a 30 minute break in between tours (you can choose to schedule a longer break if necessary) but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you have difficulty moving around, have asthma or experience extreme claustrophobia. We only toured the caverns and shopped around the gift shops but you can easily spend all day here. They have a maze and zip line playground for the kiddos along with a crystal sifting area at the gift shop.

Today we took the Hidden Wonders Tour. We arrived at 1pm, but our tour didn't start until 2pm. During our wait time, we raced our way through the maze. It was really hot outside, but we completed the maze in 11 minutes, which is faster than the average of 15 minutes so we were happy about that. Lol Our tour guide was Jennifer. She was pretty thorough, but it was kinda hard to hear her since we were in a large group. All caverns are pretty to me, but this one was spectacular. It is amazing to see how massive caverns can be! There were so many centuries old stalactites, stalagmites, columns, soda straws, etc. Each "room" was more beautiful than the last. And the last room on this tour had a theatrical light show that was really nice. We rode the BAT thingy on the way back up. It was really slow, but it beat having to hike up the incline to the exit. 😁

Wonderful cavern tour for the whole family. We recently did this tour and it was great! We did the Discovery Tour and found the hike to be very manageable for us and our small kids. The entire thing is completed on a paved path but be aware that the caverns are actively dripping and so you may want shoes with decent grip and ones you don't care if they get wet or dirty. The features of these caverns are amazing and the lighting fantastic. Our whole family enjoyed this and we hope to visit again to see a different section!

A must see ⭐️ What a wonderful place. I have been living in Houston for 12 years and can you imagine I have never been here. I cannot believe how deep it was and what a great adventure it is. Loved it and loved it. Must book your tour. We did it on site. Last tour is like at 4:30 but call. The cave is hot so if beware. You can take lots of pictures. It is slippery so be careful. No heals. Wear comfortable clothes there is a lot of steps and walking you do. The tickets were like $30 per person

This place is incredible. I’m a geologist and had no idea this was lurking under the relative flatness of central Texas. My children and I marveled at the beauty of the caverns and appreciated the time spent exploring and preserving the space for all to see. The grounds are well kept and they have included lots of other businesses and activities for folks to explore. The guides were well educated and seemed to be enjoying their jobs. There is expansion taking place since more caverns have been discovered and we are excited to visit when they open the new areas.

This is a great little cave system to visit. Our guide, Ben, was funny and informative. I especially enjoyed his bat shadow puppets! I was surprised to see how big the caverns were (and how much we actually walked). After the tour, we grabbed bit at the restaurant on site. Pretty much pizza, but it was totally worth it. Got a slice of peperoni and it was delicious. Afterward, my friend and I took a stab at the maze. It was fun running around trying to find the letters. And hey, we only got a little lost a couple of times. I'd like to think we did pretty well. So if you're looking for something different to do for a couple hours, it's worth the drive.

Live in Texas and didn’t know such beautiful underground caves exist. This place was a blast for the whole family with things to do for all ages. We had 4 years that were able to do the discovery tour (180’ cave) no problem in flip flops. We were concerned because we didn’t quite come prepared. They also have a nice relaxing outdoor area spaced out with gift shops, food, cold drinks etc. Loved our experience, thank you team for everything!

We got to see so much history and natural beauty. It was nice to stroll the river walk and see the bridges and restaurants that line the scenery. There were many Hotels that were along the river with great views. The shops around the village were nice to escape the heat. There were a lot of people in the heart of the Riverwalk but it was really cool to see the popular photos I've seen over the years. I am sure at night it would have been much cooler and beautiful with all the lights and night vibe.

Excellent place and must visit if you are visiting San Antonio. The walk along the river, especially in the evening when the temperatures are moderate is amazing. Food is little costly but can’t help as the area itself is very costly. This place has history to it, if you are interested to know then you need to get on to a boat ride. There are multiple places to park at $10 to $20 per hour and , we do have have street parking at a price but not easy to get them.

The experience was good. A lot of outlets to get both food and drinks. Even gift items were available. Got to see the Alamo to read about some historical events. Great place to visit, just not on a hot sunny day. Best visited when its cool.

We loved it even though it was cold when we went. We went on the small riverboat ride and were very glad we did because we could never have seen as much of it walking in such a short time period. Our captain on the boat was awesome! Very entertaining and knowledgeable.

The San Antonio River Walk is a very neat area. All ages can appreciate this area. It’s beautiful day or night. You should visit during both times and see if you have a preference. We like the day, but we often find ourselves doing other things that are closed in the evening, and visiting the River walk at night, but it’s a great spot any time of day. The walkways are right at rivers edge on both sides. Ducks frequent the water. The water level is just beneath sidewalk level and many areas do not have railings and you can be right next to it. However most places you sit and eat will have railings and such. There are a lot of places to eat, or get treats. There’s often live music at a place or 2, and even a drug store for your misc needs. It’s beautiful, classy, a great place for your family, or just you and your significant other. I highly recommend stopping down here if you are passing through. If you plan to, check to see when the next parade of lanterns is. Very cool lit up boats coming down the River.

I can’t say enough about San Antonio River Walk…. If you like food, this is a definite. Casual walks… perfect! The River Walk can get extremely crowded, so my recommendation is to walk it early morning. Best time to take it all in and plan your place to eat. Perfect time for photos also. It’s clean and have never been approached for handouts or selling. Absolutely love SA for keeping all this under control. Enjoy your walk….

This a great place for family, friends or a date. There is a lot to see and eat! I recommend taking the boat ride, as it will give you an easy tour of the place. We had entertainment on our boat ride. A poor soul decided to jump in the river to cool off before being fished out by the police. Everyone is very nice and friendly here. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

The San Antonio River Walk is the heart of the city. As the #1 attraction in Texas, the River Walk is full of dining, beautiful architectural buildings, even there is 300 years old tree !!! Absolutely loved this area. Walked all the way from Southtown up to the Japanese gardens and it was such a pleasant walk. The touristy section was busy and lively with lots of bars packed along but the contrast with the quieter sections was lovely too. Something for everyone!

Pete is the best. The San Antonio River Walk is a very cool place. All ages can appreciate this area. It’s beautiful day or night. The River Walk is beautiful, classy, a great place for your family, or just you and friends. I highly recommend the River walk for the United States great attraction. Just come down here if you are passing through with Pete, you will get knowledge and wisdom with US history lessons.

It's a really nice place. Strolling in the morning when it's not very busy is a beautiful experience. There are lots of places to eat from. The street vendors make the place lively. It's clean and well maintained. As a trainee at Fort Sam back in 2013 I used to come here. This reminds me of my time back then. It's nice to see people walking, shopping, eating, and doing many other things.

Very neat and well done area to visit. For those out of town, it's more of a district than an attraction. The River Walk is also a park that follows the river all the way through the city. There are a ton of restaurants, hotels, and shops, all along the waterfront, making for some magical venues. There's historical and cultural markers as well, outdoor theaters and malls. You could kill a day here. The boat ride has gone up since the last time I came. One wanted $34 a person, another $25. That's a big chunk of change to ride the boats. A special thanks to The County Line for having free ice cold water outside along the walk. Seemed like a good restaurant too. That was nice of them. There was also some big touristy stop staples you might find in other places like The Rainforest Cafe, Margaritaville, and Hard Rock Cafe I would love to come back at night when all of the lights are on. Would be spectacular.

Love it💯❤💯. We will come back... The city and public areas are clean and well maintained.. We saw Lots of young men, homeless type of men in drugs, walking on the city and hanging on the parks. They all look like zombies. UBER is cheaper and fast...

Oh, what to say that hasn't already been said. Beautiful place, I can see why this is the focal point of the city. We went on a Wed just to hang out, eat good food, and have a few drinks. Loved it... we'll be going back for sure. Note: if you have a chance, take the River Boat tour. Really nice and informative.

✝️ A Must-see Mission ✝️ If you only visit two of the four Missions, I recommend this one (San Jose) and Mission Concepción. Mission San Jose is the largest of the four, with the outer wall intact, a mill, a sanctuary, and many museum-like displays that depict daily life in the Mission. The open-air interior imbues a sense of tranquility. I found myself happily strolling the grounds without true aim, simply taking in the architecture, nature, and atmosphere. The multi-colored stone arches, rugged wooden crosses, and vibrant greenery create a lovely palette of contrasts photographers will love. Many a memorable backdrop may be found here. At an easy-going pace, you can spend an hour or two at this Mission alone. The wide-open interior is perfect for children or dogs that want to roam the grounds. History buffs will love seeing the inside of the Indian Quarters and the Convent. There's a little something for everyone, whether it's history, religion, nature, or photography.

Absolute must see! Amazing history, hundreds of years old structures, nice visitor center and souvenir shop. My kids were amazed at how the ancient thick stone walls helped ease the 100 degree temperature. The rangers were so helpful- my children enjoyed earning their Jr Ranger badges. We came near closing time and back the next day. Beautiful church architecture and history

Loved reading the history. We homeschool our children and this was a great learning experience. Kids got to learn about their heritage and how the world was before technology. Can wait to visit the other sites.

One of the prettiest missions we have been to. Kids loved doing the ranger badge activity. The grounds are well kept and structures are beautiful to look out. Definitely glad we came here. Want to come back when kids are older and do the trail bike rides.

Visiting this church was very informative and educational. So much history that has occurred on the very land we get to roam free on. This church is in Pristine condition. It is still as it was before. They still hold mass on Sunday. How amazing is that?! The park rangers were wonderful and so patient with the children. The kids are able to become an “honorary park ranger “ if they complete an activity book learning about the church. I am excited to visit the rest of the missions located along the river.

My favorite after visiting all of the missions. This mission was under renovation during the visit but the architecture was captivating regardless. I always saw this mission in various photos with its arches and understand why after visiting. Stunning. As an added bonus, the visitor center was second only to the Alamo although this mission felt less “touristy”. Well maintained grounds and friendly staff.

Very nice grounds and church. Kind of funny that these historic grounds are surrounded by a Pizza Hut, auto shop, and various other businesses. Once you’re inside though, can’t even see these distractions. It’s free to enter, which was a pleasant surprise. The mission does “ask” for only a dollar to enter the church.

Wow! This is a must see and visit when visiting San Antonio! The last time I was here was 20 years ago with my parents. It is a super fun place. We were able to get a booth after a 10 minute wait. Our waiter was prompt and funny. We all had drinks. I had the steak and enchilada plate. Yummy. The drinks were good, but not strong. I have never seen so many people in a restaurant! The bathrooms were big and clean. After eating, we ordered some baked goods. We are going to eat those tonight. Again, this is a must visit place.

We were looking for a Great place to eat Mexican food, so we drove to San Antonio and went to Mi Tierra Cafe and they did NOT disappoint. I started off with a delicious Watermelon Margarita. Then I ordered their Mole enchiladas with rice and beans and all was so good. Everyone in my party was pleased with their meal. Our Server Cesar was so attentive and nice considering he was very busy. It was my Mother-in-law's Birthday and they brought out a piece of cake and sang to her. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. The next day we went back for Mexican Sweet Bread and that too was so good. I will be eating here again when I go back. I recommend you give it a try when you're in San Antonio.

I really want to love this place. It’s like stepping back into a time warp. It’s definitely old school with some crazy Mexican Christmas decorations. I really love the atmosphere, but the standard food is just not very good. Nothing seemed very fresh or hot. And everything have the slightest hint of ode to cigarette smoke which was very weird. And I would avoid the cheesecake since the texture was like glue. We didn’t have any adult beverages but the ones on the other tables looked fantastic. Also, another table ordered fajitas which smelled great. That all said, I still would probably return if we are going to El Mercado around lunchtime, but I think I would sit in the bar and order fajitas.

Food was truly fantastic, and seemed authentic. Great spice and unique flavors. Yes, there will be a wait, and it will probably be at least 45 min. Was it worth it? Yes, I though so. Get your painter for a table, then stand in line for pastries. Both items we got were good enough for us to bring with us on a 2 hour drive!

🌮 Best Burritos Ever 🌮 Mia Tierra is a festive, authentic experience that’s well worth tasting. Every room is a vibrant array of lights, wall murals, and sculptures. There’s a massive bakery up front with delicious desserts and confections for sale, and the walls are covered in pictures of famous people who have dined there before you. My waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. When I accidentally received the wrong item (my fault), she was quick to order a replacement and it arrived fresh and warm within minutes. I immensely enjoyed performances by the wandering musicians as well. I have never tasted burrito shells as fluffy, tasty, and positively addicting as these. I found myself reaching for them again and again, filling them with leftover salsa and guacamole, as well as anything that fell from my main entree. Expect to take *lots* of pictures when you visit! There’s much for the eye to behold.

This place is a must. If you are looking for an iconic place in San Antonio, look no further. The food is authentic and impressive. The drinks are strong. Expect to wait in a long line, we waited about an hour. But while you wait, they have awesome bar along with bakery shop up front and you can walk around plaza while you wait too. The food and service was top notch. the portion is huge. The park can be difficult due to street parking. Staff are friendly which enhanced our great experience.

This place is always packed. They used to be 24X7 now they are 8am - midnight Monday-Sunday. Of course always check the web site to see if the hours may have changed or if they are closed for some reason. The food is good, there are some that they say they’ve had better. The beef tips were nice and tender. The rice and beans were okay. The Chile relleno was okay. The bakery is awesome! The sad part, a lot of tourists visit this place.

A family favorite for 50 plus years. Food always delicious and authentic. Chicken enchiladas en mole. My first visit was in 70s my great uncle knew the owner and we would dine occasionally at a large table. My great uncle worked for the El Po Po tortilla company. Taking my wife and daughter there is always fun and a tradition. We were there during Fiesta. Long wait was worth it. Thank you for another wonderful dining experience.

You can’t go wrong with this place! Arguably the best Mexican food downtown! Their chips are the perfect thickness so they have a great crunch. The salsa has a great flavor I wish they had one with a little more heat! The fajitas were very tender and were not chewy like other restaurants. Rice and beans were traditional and were enjoyed! Oh yeah the tortillas were so soft and delightful! The pictures say it all! Thanks Mi Tierra for great food, atmosphere, and service!

We love this place!!! Every time we visit San Antonio we come here at least once if not more. Prices are reasonable especially compared to the bigger chain Mexican restaurants that their food isn't that great but prices are way too high. Food, atmosphere and the people are awesome!! We highly recommend this place. AND you must get something from the bakery! Absolutely delicious.

Pastries are a must try and are super cheap. The food is also very good (not the best Mexican I’ve ever had but still very tasty with good portion sizes). Atmosphere is a wow and the kids loved looking at everything. There is usually a wait at this place the few times we have come so plan accordingly and arrive early. Parking is a bit hard to find.

Amazing food. The staff is so nice and very helpful, it's a little crowded but that's because they want to be able to see as many people as they can since it's so popular. They have a great selection of seafood and lots of steak, the drink selection is solid as well. This location is right on the Riverwalk, so you can see all of the boats going by and at night they do the light parade which is really pretty. Unfortunately on very busy nights if you're seated close to the river it can have a lot of foot traffic but it's not so bad. Pricing wise I would say it's pretty average for a steak and seafood place you'll probably pay at least $30 for an entree and you won't be disappointed.

One of the best meals we have ever had! It was our 10 year anniversary and they celebrated with us by providing a glass of sparkling wine! We ordered the guacamole and loved how they make it in front of you. It was amazing! I had the shrimp and grits and it was the best thing I ever ate in my life! Thank you for such a great experience!!!

I’ve been here twice, the first time was a couple of years ago. I went here recently in hopes of reliving the great experience but was slightly disappointed. I ordered 1 starter, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. It took a decent amount of time to get the dishes out but they were pretty busy. The waiter was helpful enough to let us know which foods may contain my brother’s allergies and gave us a lot of different options to choose from. The food overall was okay but it didn’t live up to my expectations from my very first experience, maybe it’s because it was my very first time there. Despite all of that, this place is a really good place to go to if you want to dine on the Riverwalk. Just get the tables inside unless you want to be sweating in the heat on the patio.

Service was awesome! Staff very friendly but professional. Food was exceptional! Best meal in 6 years! Can not wait to return. Prime Rib and Shrimp and grits were not over rated by any means. 5/5 .

Great atmosphere. They do take reservations but also welcome walk ups. We were seated in less than 15 min on a Sunday afternoon with no reservation. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The old fashion was well made and the lemon drop martini was delicious. The double pork chop was a little rare by the bone but the offer to finish cooking and bring it back, but we declined as we were stuffed, the blackened prime rib was perfect. The only improvement I could suggest was to soften the butter for the bread it was rock hard. I would recommend this place if your eating on the river walk!

Boudro’s on the Riverwalk was a surprisingly good treat. They have both riverside seating and interior. The riverside is very attractive but on a warm Summer evening we opted for inside. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food was also very good. The frozen margarita was a nice treat. We highly recommend this spot.

All around AMAZING!! Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, this can be done on their website. We had reservations for 6, we showed up around 5:50. Our table was not quite ready yet. The hostess took us inside out of the heat/humidity. Took us straight to the bar and had the bartender pour us complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated within 5 minutes. Everyone was very friendly. They all said happy anniversary! Our waiter JD was extremely knowledgeable of the menu; sold us on the guacamole, shrimp and grits, the prime rib. All of it tasted wonderful! He was patient with us, gave us time to eat our appetizer, enjoy our drinks. Very friendly! All around great experience for our 1 year anniversary! Highly recommend it!

Make sure you make a reservation! This place came highly recommended for a must go restaurant on the River Walk and didn't disappoint! I attempted to go on a Tuesday night ~6pm and the wait was over an hour and a half so we decided to skip it and go to another restaurant. On Wednesday, made a reservation for 5:30pm and was able to get seated right away with a table next to the river. The food was excellent and the server was very good providing detailed descriptions of the entrees since it was our first time at the restaurant. Tip: Do not get lime in your water. There were a number of bees that wanted to hang out with us at our table, one landing in my water. After that, we had the server remove the lime (from the new water glass) and that appeared to reduce their attraction to our waters.

Teresa S. was incredible with her service. She gave us the time to linger (sit, chat, drink wine, soak in the ambiance) without rushing us. She gave great recommendations and made sure our glasses were never empty. The food itself was incredible and difficult not to scarf down. We got the crab cakes and the wood-grilled fish. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious and the table side guac is a must have! It’s busy on the Riverwalk, so make sure to make a reservation if you can. Food and service was excellent. We had the prime rib and drum, would definitely go back! As soon as we were done I let my friend who was visiting In the next few days to make a reservation and they loved it as well!

The ambiance is a typical fine dining restaurant. The food was delicious and savory. We love the appetizers fried Oysters and dessert creme Brulee. The price is on expensive side but worth it. The service was good. ... Location is right beside the Riverwalk. But we op to go inside for cool air. ... We had a wonderful dinner.

The food was incredible! The shrimp and grits is one of the best meals we have ever had! They said it was award winning and it actually was! The red fish was also amazing. The prickly pear margaritas were very very good. They make the guacamole for 2 right in front of you. You can't beat the location or the food. Don't look anywhere else and make a reservation here!

Great food honestly if you're in town for the day this place won't fail you. Just stay away from the rib-eye sandwich the horseradish sauce was too strong that you couldn't get steak flavor BUT everything else was amazing I got the chicken fried rib-eye and it was a solid (8.2). The crab cakes were delicious (8.5) and the bread pudding was definitely worth it if you have space! (7.8) Israel was our waiter and everything he mentioned to get was great.

Casa Rio is well located and the restaurant is very nice and well preserved, unfortunately the food looked like it was store bought, the guacamole was cold and not seasoned. We ordered the deluxe platter, the taco that came with it looked like it was from taco bell, also cold and very basic. The refried beans were fine as well as the meat, the tamale was also bad. Drinks were good and our server was very nice.

Place is great! Food was awesome, the river view was great and the service was unbelievable! My coworker and I sheared the fajitas for one and it was more than enough food for us. I thinks it’s the oldest restaurant on the river walk. Check it out for sure!

This location is great. It is right at the hub of the river walk and has nice outside seating, live music and great vibes. The service was fast and friendly. The food wasn't anything especially good but it was reasonably priced. We ordered the regular plate and combinations plates with chalupas and enchiladas. We also got non-alcoholic peach and strawberry daquiri's which were very yummy.

Lets take it in steps for this one! Service - To begin with the food will be a disservice to our server because she was spectacular! The restaurant got 5 stars but April earned 10 well deserved stars. We never had to ask for anything, her manners and gracefulness were absolutely infectious. April we would like you to know your efforts were as beautiful as you were! When we return to SA and dine at the Casa Rio, we want April!!! The atmosphere - We sat on the Riverwalk and the atmosphere was amazing, the colors and activity, the birds, the live band going from table to table, people out loving life (as it should be), the ducks having a wild time as if to say "Hello! we are 'the real' attraction here...", touring boats lazily navigated the waters; even the flowers and trees seemed to chatter as a light breeze flowed through. The food- Note* (Portion sizes are large) Out came the chips and salsa and it was one of the absolute best I ever tasted! Then the food came and that too was next caliber with such balance of flavors, note* no blandness here! This is what tastebuds were made for, punch after punch of delight! We will visit again for sure in the very near future. Huge Thanks to April & the Casa Rio - shout out to the amazing cooks/chef's.

I dined here on a Sunday afternoon. When I "checked in" they asked if I wanted to eat indoors or out. Considering it was hovering around 100 degrees outdoors I chose indoors. I was told to wait 20-30 minutes as opposed to being seated immediately outdoors. I still chose indoors so they took my phone number to text me. After about 7-8 minutes they texted me and I went inside to see no less than 10 empty tables just on the one side. For whatever reason they don't want to seat a single person inside. I ordered The Sombrero and lemonade. The food was bland. Not a bad taste but zero spice whatsoever. At least as far as prices this place seems to be the only restaurant on the River that doesn't want to charge $25-$45 per person. Very reasonable prices which is refreshing. Chips and Salsa come free but with too little salsa for too many chips.

First time here at the first and oldest restaurant on the Riverwalk, 75 years. Ordered a really spicy margarita when the chips and salsa came out. The salsa is good but average spicy, so I paid $1.50 for their special spicy and it was worth it. I got the Commerce St. Tacos, 3 tiny, tinier than street tacos, but flavorful. The food came out in literally less than 10 mins. Ultra fast I was impressed. Sat outside along the river. Very nice atmosphere.

First timer at The Riverwalk. We were seated within minutes and service was great. Food portions were on the smaller side for the price but definitely delicious. Skinny margarita was smooth and strong. Stroller friendly and bathrooms were clean.

This definitely is an exquisite place to visit in San Antonio. I definitely recommend sitting in the patio Next to the river. We had a toddler and they didn’t allow us to sit outside since it was for four people only max and our toddler counted as a fifth according to the host. Besides that the only thing that could have been improve is the lightening. Our waiter was very courteous and efficient in everything he did. He made sure our cups were never empty and ensure we were satisfied. We got our dishes at perfection. Taste was on point and everything was warm and just perfectly seasoned. The fajitas-steak were a two person menu item and had both corn and flour tortillas along with garnish.

The best Cesar Salad I have EVER had! The steak melted in my mouth. My husband got the pork and mashed potatoes. The mash potatoes were incredible and so was the pork. We were so happy we chose to go here for lunch!! Thank you again for a delicious lunch.

Had a client in town yesterday and chose this place to take her to dinner. It did not disappoint. Bryan was our server and he was phenomenal. His presence snd service was an absolute delight. I tried the Southwest Paella and it was delicious. My client had the Shrimp Tacos and she loved them. I can't remember the name of my margarita but I loved it!

I came here for my birthday dinner and what a great experience. We had a fantastic server! I loved the ambience here. The drinks are good but kind of small for the price. The food was really good. The lobster tacos were an absolute hit! The Mexican Meatloaf is definitely a must try. It had so much flavor. Very nice size serving of mussels as well. He even made our guacamole tableside!

~20min wait time for Saturday afternoon. Decent vibes inside. Southern Paella was delicious (no fishy taste) and worth the price. The guac was very good and made with fresh ingredients right in front of us. Our server Kelley was very friendly, explained things patiently, and made it a good time for our small group of friends visiting San Antonio :)

This location is one of the spots on the river walk. Went during a low peek time of day. The General Manager came out and greeted our table and treated us exceptionally. We had a variety of meals at the table. I enjoyed the lobster tacos most. Could’ve had a bit more bold flavors with the other meals that would’ve help elevate the dishes.

5 star experience and food. We only had a 15min wait and then was seated inside. The place was busy as expected for a Sat. They bring you chips and salsa with your drinks. Tequila is their specialty. We got a cherry lime aid and it was really good. My sister in law got a passion fruit margarita also good. I ordered the Baja fried tacos with rice and it was phenomenal. For the 3 of us..lunch platters and 1 drink apiece it came to $93. The food and experience was worth the money. I recommend.

The food was just okay, at least what we ordered. I did really like the salsa! The chicken quesadillas just got a little soggy and my husband got chicken enchiladas, but there wasn’t much chicken in them. We went two nights in a row, no wait the first night and about 20 minutes the second night. Both of our servers were great! We didn’t have drinks there so I can’t speak about those!

When coming back to Texas, we always make a beeline to a TexMex place to eat, and Iron Cactus did not disappoint. From the fajitas to the guacamole made fresh tableside to the cocktails, everything was a reminder of why we miss Texas so much. Thank you, Iron Cactus, for the excellent service and food! Best food we've had in San Antonio so far! Service was great. My husband had the Ahi Tuna Civiche. Says it's the best he ever had. Also had the paella, delicious. I had the chicken enchiladas and it needed nothing! 10/10 would recommend and eat here again.

The ambience of the place was amazing, and it is very clearly extremely popular in San Antonio. The service was also very good. The only issues I had were the food itself. I got the mole enchiladas, and they were decent. The food felt a bit too standard however. I hope in the future the food can be elevated just a bit. I recommend it if you have a chance. It is definitely a family restaurant.

We went here the 1st day of our anniversary trip and we're pleasantly surprised as we just stopped in. The service was impeccable (thank you Ben G). The food..WOW! The salsa was perfect! The Chicken Chipotle was beautiful but amazing!!! We also had the chicken enchiladas which were great and so flavorful. I had a House sangria margarita and it was perfect and not overloaded with sweet and sour like most in town. We walked from our hotel but because parking is hard anywhere downtown but it was well worth the not even 10min walk. We will definitely be back!

This place is good and just a short walk from the river walk. The drinks here are not sugary like the ones on the river walk. The food is better too. Slight wait for a table around 3pm on a Saturday, but nothing crazy.

Came here during lunch and glad they have so much space for seating. The service from our waitress Carmen was great, love how friendly and easy going she was. Food was delicious and you can really taste the authenticity. Chips and salsa are definitely worth buying.

The newly redesigned and remodeled Rosario's is a feast for the senses. More modern and airy than the previous two versions (including the beautiful location now closed, off San Pedro), the restaurant includes various waiting sections (the bar or a lounge area), which we were not offered while we waited for our party. The service was dry and efficient. The food was as spectacular as ever, especially the Mole Poblano Chicken, perfectly tender and covered with the most delicious mole sauce reminiscent of old-fashioned recipes. The shrimp nachos were incredibly tasty. Our business meeting was a total success, amidst the modern beauty of the new Rosario's, and under the loving gaze of the iconic Virgin of Guadalupe painting.

Although we were there for non-alcoholic drinks with friends and didn't have a chance to eat, the food looked delicious. The atmosphere was electric and casual, and the hot pink furniture and art were an excellent choice for the decor. Although I didn't have the opportunity to go to the second floor, I could see that there was a beautiful patio. The outside seating area was very cute and would make a beautiful backdrop for a photo shoot. As you can see in my picture, the towers of America in the background make it social media-worthy. It's a must-see place while in San Antonio. Four stars because I didn’t eat there.

You won’t be disappointed with the food. Parking may be tough in this area but there is a parking lot up and to the right of the restaurant’s main entrance. About $9 for two hours and $13 for four. This newer location is a lot bigger than the previous one, and tables are actually reasonably far apart you don’t feel like you’re on top of other people. It’s still difficult to carry on conversations due to the open seating layout. Service was great food came out quickly on a Thursday night. We didn’t wait at all for a table for four. Most importantly, the food was delicious. And you can’t go wrong with $1.99 chips and housemade salsa. All four of us were happy with our meals. Definitely recommended.

Wonderfully tasty dinner. Enjoyed our drinks. The atmosphere is nice in the front room. Unfortunately, we sat in the back where the lighting was too bright. But the food made up for the lack of atmosphere.

We went here with friends after five years and I have to say- that's phenomenal consistency. I had the spinach enchiladas (without queso fresco because I am pregnant). It was just as delicious as I remembered! I also had a watermelon mint mocktail. It was delicious and they were very helpful accommodating me not being able to have alcohol. We had queso, guacamole, the salsa and our food: it was far too much for four people but we all had a delicious meal and leftovers! The salsa here is so delicious with roasted peppers in it.

Wife and I went to Rosario’s for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time there since they moved to this location. We loved the previous location so we looked forward to this visit. They did not disappoint. The food and drinks were awesome! We started off with top shelf margaritas. Then, we both had the fish tacos. We finished the night off with their Mexican Chocolate Flan. Everything was perfect! The service was exactly what you would expect. Fernando was very attentive and helpful with our questions. After our meal we went up to the rooftop terrace and bar. We had to take some pictures so we could post them here. We highly recommend Rosario’s. It remains our favorite restaurant in San Antonio!
