We only briefly walked through the gardens here bit it was still quite a beautiful spot. If you've got time in Salzburg then definitely go visit, but if you're limited on time don't worry about missing it. On the plus side it's on the way to the fortress from the train station, so don't use the tram, walk through the gardens here instead, it's not a long walk.

Even in early spring, the gardens are well cared for and beautifully maintained. The view from the palace toward the fortress is an iconic shot you must get in Salzburg. The dwarf gardens are a fun and quirky little side visit off the side of the gardens that bring out the silly in just about everyone.

The palace garden is beautiful, and very big. There are plenty of hidden areas so make sure you don't miss anything, because it is worth it! My favourite part was a botanical room with turtles and birds in it. You'll know you're near if you hear the birds chirping.

Lovely garden and nice views of the fortress. It would have been nice to get some more information about the palace and different buildings, but definitely recommend having lunch in one of the gardens. Just lovely to sit outside and enjoy the views.

When visiting Salzburg, my wife and I first walked to the beautiful gardens, from where there is a beautiful view of the castle. The gardens are magnificent in June, when we visited them, the vegetation and flowers were beautiful. The Mirabell manor with all its outbuildings and garden monuments is on the UNESCO list as the Historic Center of the City of Salzburg.

We visited the gardens and the marble hall. It was lovely, a lot of people are sitting in the gardens reading books or having lunch. The rooms were closed for visit but the statues in the marble hall were impressive.

Nice free garden you can walk around. Very well kept, but smaller than I expected. We couldn’t visit the marble salon on the 1st floor as it was closed. It makes for a good walk towards the city center.

Beautiful and the place where the sound of Music is shot but just a little bit. The gnome garden is nice. And as is consistent with other places in Austria the garden is very beautiful and tastefully decorated.

Nice museum, but a bit empty and lacking a few too many original documents and items. The concept of the museum is nice though and the exibition pictures Mozart and his family in an interesting way.

Well described museum. All signs English and German (Austrian). Lots of new facts about Mozart’s life and family. (Sister was new to me). It’s a lot of stairs and rooms small however you come away informed. I loved the little models of the opera sets. Highly recommended if you interested in Mozart.

It was a nice, small museum. The anecdotes were funny and interesting. It was quite small and felt somewhat empty for the price paid, but is nevertheless a museum worth going to.

Nice collection and worth visiting if you are in Salzburg. It can get crowded so choose a quite time when there are less visitors so you can enjoy the tour. To activate the audio you would need to scan a code then download an app which was not convenient for me.

If you have a truly desire to see the interior of a traditional Salzburg house with a very limited old furniture, its worth to pay 15€.

One of the best places for this great person! The only problem was their audio guide. Can’t download it from the internet. We saw both places for Mozart in town. Better to buy combined tickets. It is cheaper than buy one by one

Lots to do and see at this estate so make sure you give yourself enough time. A great combination of trails and museum attractions. If you want to see the trick fountains and you have a Salzburg Card, you'll need to still register to get tickets (at no charge).

Very beautiful and lovely cared for Zoo. The animals have huge areas and still you can spot most of them. Thank you for the great day, especially with children! Toilets were all clean throughout the day, the parking very spacious 😊

This was a nice stop on the Sound of Music Tour. The gazebo from the movie has been moved here so that it is easily accessible to fans of the movie. The original location is now a hotel. You could spend an afternoon looking around and enjoying the history. The gazebo is so much smaller than the one depicted in the movie

This place has a wonderful garden and lots of trick water fountains, water features, grottos, statues and so on. There are mythical creatures too. Make sure you check out the outdoor dining table. I will let you decide if you want to sit at the table or not haha

Very nice small zoo, animals have great habitats, very clean with a nice restaurant to eat and take a break. Good places for stopping in shade and take an extra view or photo. Very nice playgrounds for kids.

Finally we had a chance to visit this beautiful schloss.entertainment for both kids and adults.my kids really enjoyed it I will bring them back again. It full of surprise be aware. It is advised to do it when the weather is not good..I will recommend this for family entertainment

It has a long hallway that's so beautiful and green, you have the water tricks garden which you can enter for a fee. There are water lakes in the outside yard which have fish inside that gives the whole palace a better view. I think it was used as a vacation palace because it doesn't look that luxurious.

A gorgeous palace that should be on your to visit list should you ever visit Salzburg. Amazing views, fascinating exhibitions, serene garden and a super fun trick fountains!

I was here a few years ago and took friends here today on a trip through Salzburg. I am glad that the exposition has changed, even though its main outlines are of course the same. Excellent stop just off the highway. A lot of unique technology in one place in a beautiful environment!! We can highly recommend! No entrance fee ;). RV parking is not reserved, but with a little effort it is still possible.

Red Bull gives you wings? Well here that phrase becomes reality. This is one of the largest collections of historical planes that are actually fully functional. So for instance on the day I visited you could see. A Douglas DC-6 flies over Salzburg and then on the ground at Hanger 7 which is located at Salzburg airport. There is a strong emphasis on sporting related activities with racing cars and stunts but also plenty of planes. There is a restaurant and cafe which you can visit, but the exhibition itself is free. You can access it via local buses and then a short walk (under 10 minutes). I highly recommend buying a can of Redbull from the vending machine and just enjoying the overall environment.

You get to see cars, helicopters, glider, navi helicopter etc. Entrance is free. Better to go in the morning time for better view of exhibits. They have a posh restaurant in the first floor. Very small place, can complete in an hour including taking pictures.

Free entry, so why not :) Pretty small area but with very nice collection of Red Bull planes and F1 cars. Not so much to do but just watching them. The gift shop closes at 6 and has nice variety of branded products

Amazing display of Red Bull F1 cars, aircrafts, helicopters. Perfectly located with beautiful mountains in the backdrop. The building looks great both outside and inside. Entry is free of cost and worth a visit. One wing has the collection display and the other wing is dedicated for repair and maintenance. There’s restaurant, cafes and a merchandise shop inside the building.

This experience is highly recommended dor so many reasons 1. Extremely well curated selection of cars , bikes and memorabilia of the flying bull team. 2. Futuristic with it's seamless integration of art, technology, dining and a food experience all in a hangar 3. The exhibits are Free !!

Free entry and fun for the whole family. Kids were excited as much as I was. Not big, not small. Lot of planes, helicopters, cars, formulas, bikes and some surprises. Also the architecture of this place is very nice. Ice cream and coffee available. I am glad we stopped by, thank you Red Bull HQ

Get place to visit with family, no charge to entry. Kids loved it lots to see. You will need a maximum of 1 hour here. Definitely worth seeing if you come to Salzburg

Really big modern hall with Red Bull logo decorated cars, plains and helicopters. Fantastic for fans of beautiful vehicles. Bit hard to find, but close to Salzburg airport, 20 min walk, the bus stop is quite close as well.

Wonderful place and very unique .. finally had the chance to see redbull formula 1 car and be very close to it.. it is the must visit attraction to visit in Salzburg.. there are cafés and lounges but they need reservation .. there is a small shop to buy the goods and souvenirs of redbull sport teams

What a fantastic place to visit. Right at the Salzburg airport. Free parking. We had a wonderful time visiting and seeing all the planes and cars. A must visit when in the area.

This is a must see for any visitor in the warmer months! The trick fountains are fun for all the family and are very unique! I have been a handful of times whilst showing friends and family around and they all love it! You get wet!!!!

Lovely place!❤️ We had tour and it was fun playing on the water tricks while listening to the audio. It was an amazing place to visit. What’s more interesting was the stories behind each of the station. I do recommend to get your own audio at the entrance and hey its free!☺️

It's a nice place, very pretty, not too big, but I did not like their system of running tourists in groups through the park. You enter the park with a group of another, say, 50 people. Timed. The group arrives at a Play fountain and you literally see the person who starts the water to splash it onto the group. No 'surprise' there. Then on, to the next 'fun' with the whole bunch to meet with the next guy with the red button. Kids love it anyway, of course. I saw similar (but a lot larger) fun fountains in St. Petersburg in Russia.

The trick fountains are lovely and the guided tour is very relaxed (and available in a ton of languages). You can get splashed if you want to but you don’t have to. I went in slacks and a button down and I was okay. Waited about 15min for a tour to start.

Great place with lots of water powered mechanical figures and trick fountains. From a metal hat balanced on a water stream to pipes playing music using water power. Get ready to get wet as you walk though the fountains.

Worth a visit. Trick fountains could've done with a bit more trickery as we weren't getting wet that much but still a fun enough place for the family day out. Kids will enjoy it ....if they get a chance to get wet. Gardens are lovely and it was very nice to see thee actual garden glass porch cabin from the movie Sound of music there. Very happy to see that. All very easy to get too with number 25 bus .

Fantastic and super fun! It's interesting to find out that gardens with fountains using the modern technology of the time were in fashion in the 17th century but gradually disappeared. This one is still standing and will amaze you for sure.

Was so much fun, for kids as well as for adults. We spent there approx. 50 minutes... recommend waterproof shoes or sandals and shorts or a skirt 😉

The trickle fountains are definitely a must see when in Salzburg. The visit is in bookable slots to limit the number of people. The garden is berry big with loads of water features - some controlled by the staff poyrposedly to get the visitors wet. Really impressive waterworks, considering it was built mllong before electricity. The water powered theatre is also very interesting. Every bit of the garden holds a surprise for the guests. Definitely recommended for children.

Super fun, especially during the summer. I really didn't expect it to be so exciting (and refreshing :)), and I was blow away by the fountains and their tricks, the craftmanship behind them, the beautiful scenery... I highly recommend it, it's definitely worth the visit, especially with children during hot summer months. They will love it!

We have been here twice. And we have loved it every time. It's such a lovely atmosphere, especially on holidays and Sundays. There is so much to do and lovely spaces to walk and places to eat. The zoo is within the grounds and has a few shops and cafes of its own. Your Time spent here will not be a disappointment.

Tasty and extraordinary experience for beer lovers. It is a self serving place. The beer is poured from barrels to a heavy ceramic mug, the food is “heavy” and good as expected and there are a lot to choose from. Recommended with pleasure.

Love this beer garden, easy to find and close to the center of Salzburg. The garden is huge and on some nights it's hard to find a table in peak hours. In the garden you have a few food stalls and in upstairs in the main building you have a great selection of other plates and appetizers. Great atmosphere a must when in Salzburg.

Great relaxed atmosphere food court the Bavarian style.. you can buy food and drinks that you like at the small shops.. Great beer and typical beer „company food“. The table hall is decorated with Latin and German graffiti and on each table there are „Stammtisch“ signed.. there is also a nice outdoor area under old trees. One star missing as the shops accept cash only and as the Noise level in the hall is very high..

You can buy various food like a kind of food court, but don't expect the food to taste good. Beer was pretty good. The most attractive point of this place is you can feel real local vibe.

Cash only! You have been advised. What an experience. Self service beer and food at very fair prices. Huge venue with over 5 rooms. Baby changing station available. Felt like we were the only tourists there that evening. Far, far less touristy than Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Highly recommended.

This spot is great. The oldest beer house in the country. The beer was great! High quality and clean tasting brew. Also, you can bring your own food, but the food at this place is also great! Maybe the best ham I’ve ever had.

You do not need to speak German here - you need to speak Beer, Pork and Sauerkraut. Dip your face in delicious Marzen and forget the world. Half day of fast before arriving is recommended by the Abbot. An average meal and a few beers ( 1 unit of beer is 1 litre) equals 8000 calories. I wasn’t hungry for 3 days afterwards.

Never experienced before as unique as I serve by myself from choosing glass to buying beer & food. You can imagine food-court and beer-court likewise. Multi-hundreds of beer lovers are given spacious halls and garden. Beer is as good as you refill the glass.

Came here without a reservation so we had to wait a little bit at the bar. The waitress there recommended us a couple local beers which were a big hit. Took a table and ordered goulash with Austrians dumpling and schnitzel with fries and cranberry sauce. Both were very tasty and big portions. The goulash was very hearty and hit the spot. Was amazed by the combination of schnitzel with cranberry as well!

All I can say is that if you do not come here for dinner, you wasted the chance to try something spectacular. After a long and rainy summer evening in August, I ended up dining alone in this marvellous restaurant. I have always been self-conscious about eating alone, as I am, at my core, a social adventurer. But honestly, hunger was winning, and this place came well recommended. My dinner started with a rich and dry local white wine, whose name I am unable to pronounce, but it was the first on the list; a plate of cheese and fruits was followed by the most incredible boiled beef you have ever tasted (and if you haven’t tried it yet, by all means, do try it), as a side the meat came with roasted potatoes, spinach and an onion apple jam. The food was cooked to perfection, and most of it was tasty. I do not have a sweet tooth, so dessert was a strong doppio expresso. I do recommend making a reservation.

My wife and I visited after a long day of walking around Salzburg and were lucky to get a table inside even without a reservation. The outside seating looked lovely, but the weather was pretty bad so we were happy to sit inside. The service was super friendly, even though we essentially only speak English, and the food was fantastic. I had the bratwurst and sauerkraut and it was a big plate of food. My wife had the Spätzle (pasta) with cheese dish that was very tasty but quite strong on the cheese taste. Overall, the food was fantastic, we were served quickly and the guy who served us was happy to share tips on their favourite beer - which turned out to be wonderful. Overall - a great meal at a reasonable price.

This place seemed to be really popular, huge lines in front of the restaurant. The service servicing the customers waiting in line was really slow. The food was really delicious. I ordered Tafelspitz, beef was super tender, beef broth was savoury and the side dishes were on-point as well!

The food was great, it was also a lot. The inside decor is really cute and the whole atmosphere is cozy. The staff were very nice they also spoke English and even a bit Italian which made everything a lot easier for us

Quite a small space, but they have solid Austrian food. Get the classic combo with Schnitzel. It has good size Schnitzel plus a lot of sides such as chicken, wings, bbq ribs and fries for just a little more.

This place is centrally located and easy to reach. It has a very nice vibe. The strudel was exquisite. Food was decent. The service was extremely slow. The staff who interacted with us was very unclear in his communication. Looking at the other reviews, I was expecting professional hosts.

I chose this restaurant based on good reviews. However, I believe that ask the good reviews were by tourists. I mean sure, if you are not European and you are visiting from somewhere else then the food is good. I personally found it flavorless and overpriced for what it is. I mean the Goulash they offer, have big chunks of meat in a stew, however, it did not take like anything. Nothing good or bad. Same goes for the Schnitzel. If these are you got choices then you are better off eating elsewhere, when I visited it was Christmas market season, and ask the food stalls offered tasty food way better than this. However I must say that the service was amazing. The waiters were all very attentive, polite and helpful. They all served with a big smile on their face and nice attitude. The restaurant was also beautifully decorated for Christmas and had a nice bar.

Second time visiting here! The waiters are always so friendly and the schnitzel is always tasty. I prefer the turkey schnitzel over the veal schnitzel. The sauce that comes with the sirloin steak is also very tasty!

While walking around we saw the menu and it sounded good. It was a big courtyard with trees for shade with lots of outdoor seating (along with tables inside). The pretzel soup was so good. Somewhat simple but rich beef broth and then pieces of pretzels - what a great dish! The lentil stew was thick and flavorful and serviced nice and hot. Service was friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for a great place to enjoy some Austrian cuisine and beer, this beer garden is a must-visit. Located in the heart of Altstadt, it's always buzzing with activity. The traditional Austrian dishes like schnitzel and wurst are top-notch and the beer is simply amazing. The staff is always busy but they never compromise on efficiency or hospitality, even with the tourists. The outdoor garden is a lovely place to sit, but the interior restaurant is also cozy and inviting. Plus, they even have a self-serve section outdoors. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant is really nice, clean and spacious and love the decorations. The staff is very attentive , cordial and always checking if everything is ok. The food was super amazing , the typical Austrian food menu is big and selective. There is something for everyone. Thanks for making my experience a good one. Service is below zero, I have asked for fries, and they said that they do not have it, but yet I saw a table getting it few minutes later. The meal (Schnitzel) was simply bad, unsalted and tasteless. Only good points are the beer and the environment.

The definition of a good Biergarten: good beer, authentic Austrian cuisine and a efficient and friendly service. This combined with the great location and best Schweinesbraten (pork belly) make this place an absolut must when visiting Salzburg!

Nice casual Austrian restaurant located in oldtown Salzburg Austria. They have reasonably mastered balancing 3 important factors: quality, price, and time. Waiters are efficient and friendly. Food is good and arrives quickly. Great beer selection as well.

I love this restaurant especially for their breakfast. Their coffee and tea are top tier, and that homemade granola and fresh cheese are to die for. I've also tried their dinner tapas and they were delicious as well. The waiters/waitresses were all wonderful. They all spoke English and they even gave us recommendations for what to visit. Their cocktails were also incredible. I know they have a main restaurant, but the tapas restaurant is never really that busy and you are able to try a variety of dishes instead of committing to one.

Nice restaurant and great ambience. Good selections of food and nice seafood menu as well! The oysters are good but I prefer classic oyster. In oyster there are cucumber which destroy natural oysters taste… I ordered big portion of mussels but big portion is only 200g of mussel which is not that much and it slightly overcooked as well.

Located by the historic St Peters Church, this is one of the oldest restaurants in town. Atmospheric, stylish place with great food and service. Everything we tried was delicious, served fast and with a custom presentation. We had goulash and chicken, cucumber soup, burata, wine and a few cocktails. Not cheap but reasonably priced.

What I really like about this restaurant more than anything else was the service I got there. It was really a good service and so welcoming. We had 3 staff serving us and were both good.I had a butternut soup which was really tasty and the presentation was on point and I had the most famous Parmesan noodles. You should try this if you are a lover of finer things and obviously for social media. It’s is easily accessible place and in the inner city of Salzburg. Beautiful restaurant and set up

Great place to brunch, food was fantastic. Service was good but not great, we were seated quickly but then took a while to take our order, same again when it came to ask for the bill, had to ask two times for the bill. With a 3 year old ready to explore the city more, I found this a little frustrating. Although, once we ordered food it came quickly, was super tasty and our drinks were then continously topped up. Definitely a place I'd recommend to visit in Salzburg.

Nice atmosphere on a hot summer day in they private garden. Service is super in a rush and not attentive to their guest with focus. You can clearly see and feel they are rushing to the next table. Food taste is good but a bit plain without the right intensity touch of flavor (watery flavors). In all over, you’re better off at another local restaurant … authentic flavor and also a nice atmosphere.

Hands down best restaurant in Slazburg and my favourite restaurant in the whole of Austria. Service was top notched and every dish cooked to perfection. We did not have a reservation but the restaurant kindly accepted us and led us to the cozy room on the left side of the garden.

It's a blessing that my daughter booked this restaurant for us a few days before our arrival to Salzburg that we have the opportunity to dine in the cave of St. Peter Stiftskulinarium, the oldest restaurant in Europe for over 1200 years. The restaurant was filled with colourful plants and decorations. Yet, everything blends perfectly with a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. I ordered Pete's Aperol cocktail, and the main ingredient is vodka with Mandarin purree. It's very refreshing. Then, we had homemade soup with prime beef. It's actually the wild garlic potatoes dumplings in the beef broth. It tasted good, but It's a bit salty for my personal preference. Our main courses were basil pesto asparagus pasta, a vegan dish, and a gratinated saddle of the local lamb. Both dishes were perfectly cooked. Lastly, we had ordered the famous apple strudel tops with cream and vanilla ice cream and white nougat parfait for desserts. These two desserts were the highlight of our dining experience here. ✨️ The waiter/waitress served us were very friendly with good service. Although it's not compulsory, it's a lifestyle of giving tips in Europe. We are happy to tip them who provided good services.

St Peter is a restaurant out of touch with her historical past. Historical figures such as Mozart, Columbus and Karel the Great have dined at this restaurant. It is the oldest restaurant in the world but it seems to hide that fact with modern glamour. We made a reservation for lunch, we were surprised with a dinner menu. The menu offers luxury dishes like Wagyu per gram and magnum bottles of champagne, tempting you to spend as much as possible. The service is good and friendly, however, it is clear it wants to facilitate spending. Our waiter made an elaborate explanation of the "dinner" menu, but mentioned nothing about historical importance and showed his disappointment after ordering a cheaper bottle of wine. The food is great! It is made with quality ingredients from local producers, this you can definitely taste as the this has great flavour. I wish the restaurant puts more emphasis on its historical past and gets rid of the overpriced glamour.

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this "marketed" sort of historic restaurant, but it was really impressive from a food/wine/staff point of view. Gigantic wine by the bottle list. Staff was amazing with wine and food suggestions. Ended up doing a local wine with just 4k bottles/year, beef bouillon soup, the schnitzel, creme brulee, and of course the wine. Interior is borderline like a Miami beach club. Not entirely sure what I think of that feeling, but would be back here immediately if I came through town again. Get a reservation if you want to get in during tourist season (my hotel did that for me). Best meal I had in this area.

We sat at the bar because not tables were available. Place was full. Beer was really good. Food was AMAZING. I had the BEST GOULASH SOUP I have ever had. I keep telling everyone about how good that goulash was. It was extremely delicious as it was all the other food we ordered. Happy we picked this place for our late lunch during our day trip to Salzburg.

I have never been so sorry to finish a meal. I had the perch-pike fish dinner with sweet potato gratin, and it was incredible. Light and delicate. My boyfriend had the Zwettler Schnitzel, and he ate it slowly just to avoid finishing it. Absolutely fantastic, and very quick service with friendly waiters.

The place always seems to be busy so expect a crowded sitting area and some noise. The servers are constantly on the run trying to get everyone taken care of. The food was amazing and the beer was superb. If you’re looking for quiet or fast service this is probably not for you. If you want an authentic Austrian experience with matching atmosphere then come on in. Always as for staff favorites, they won’t disappoint.

After arriving to Salzburg we looked for a nice place to seat and eat. We found this restaurant while walking around, it seems like a nice quiet place. We ordered a pumpkin soup, goulash and a veal schnitzel and non alcoholic beer and for dessert we had the chocolate cake Everything was delicious the waiter was very nice and we had a very nice time

Great food with an amazing atmosphere! We had the pork and the bratwurst, with tap beer - and we enjoyed every moment. The place was packed with both locals and tourists,but the service was great and we got the food quickly. Definitely recommend
