It’s definitely a unique place to visit. It’s the postcard of Salvador. When you go up, you can see the ocean, mercado Modelo, and the fort of São Marcelo. it’s definitely a great way and fastest way to get from cidade baixa to cidade alta.

It cost 0.15 to get up, and 0.15 to get down. Great that's affordable for EVERYONE! It's just an amazing view from here.

It's very cheap at only R$0.15, and conveniently located. It facilitates a 10 minute walk from the ferry to Pelourinho or from Pelourinho to the market. There may be a bit of a line depending on the time of day that you visit. Can also get a bit hot during the day. There are stunning views from the top, a very popular photo op spot, as well as a famous ice cream shop help you beat the heat. Can't miss it on a visit to Salvador and I definitely recommend taking it at least once.

A very traditional landmark of the city, this elevator is known as the first public elevator on the entire Amreica. It connects the up and down part of the town (where the Modelo Market is located). The fee to use is very unexpensive - only BRL 0.15 cents. It's also a good place to enjoy the breathtaking view of the All Saints Bay. Unfortunately, the surroundings are not as safe as expected, but note that this is very common for historical cities in Brazil. I do recommend you to be accompanied by a local to avoid unsafe areas and to avoid the local vendors who can be very insisting. As always, enjoy it during the daytime. The elevator doesn't offer a panoramic view (it was not built with this intention), but it has a glass corridor that can be the place for nice pictures.

This place fully recommends having lots of histories and beautiful arquitetura.

The history behind the construction is interesting, however it’s not a great place to go. Going up and down costs R$0,15 per visitor and the elevator is too crowded, hot as hell and smells sweat. Great view up there though.

It's definitely a cool picture, but beware the people who harass you to buy things outside (even the ones that say they want to give you something free)

I recommend taking Acarajé and seeing the sunset at Farol da Barra.

Well, it’s a simple lighthouse but when the sun is setting, you are gonna enjoy the view and obviously by walking on the same boulevard you get plenty of things to eat and it’s nice

The Barra's Lighthouse is a postcard of Salvador City, at beach with the same name , is the oldest in Brazil but is in a great conservation status. The visit worth cause the historical value, the beautiful neighborhood and the stunning views when you climb until the top! At the building of the old fort, we visited the museum that explain the History of the Lighthouse since the 16th Century and an interesting pictures exposition.

Igreja e convento de Sao Francisco De Asis is a highly recommended stop on your next visit to Pelourinho Salvador. It's stunning from the outside and lights up beautifully at night. The real beauty however is seen in the fine detailing and elaborate use of gold on the inside. The cost to enter is only R$5 / US$1( in March 2022 ), a price thats more than worth it. The pictures really don't do it justice. They don't provide tour guides so I would advise visiting as a part of a walking tour of pelourinho, to get details on the history. Definitely add it to your list of must do in salvador.

this building is so so beautiful. The courtyard is covered in tiles that are donated by the portugese king in 1795 (according to my guide), and the inside is covered in gold. I cant even begin to describe it. There are so many statures and sculptures , its breaktaking. Theres also a cemetery of some sort where some ancient bones lay. I heard it also contains the living quarters for some reverened father. This place was really beautiful and its a must see if you ever are in Salvador

Gorgeous and interesting Church We stumbled across this during our walk around Pelourinho and what a gem it is. There were flowers laid down the aisle of the chapel so I assume there was soon to be a wedding there and it looked truly stunning. Walking around to can go into the Throne Room and Crypts followed by other rooms with information and artifacts. Just after the Crypts there was an outside area but we didn't venture out there as it seemed this was the reception area with the same flowers as the Chapel so likely for the wedding but it was gorgeous.

It's a souvenir market more than anything. It doesn't feel real. Just nice if you are looking for souvenirs to bring home.

Massive market full of unique items and food from around Brazil and beyond. A must see for anyone visiting Salvador and looking for a gift or memorable souvenir to bring home to remember forever. There are a number of restaurants and other food vendors. The market is also close to other top local tourists attractions.

If you want to buy your souvenirs and gifts all together in a single place, then this is probably as good an option as any. There are plenty of options, enough probably, to suit everyone. The first floor also offers some good options if you want something to eat or drink. Restaurant Maria de São Pedro was our choice and we were pleasantly surprised. Recommended.

Mercado Modelo is a famous market in Salvador, Brazil. It is a popular tourist destination where visitors can find a variety of goods, including handicrafts, clothing, souvenirs, and local food and drinks.

Great tourists attraction. When we went it was under construction parts of it so a bit of a mess but you can find nice souvenirs and they have restaurants on the second floor with nice view and veey cool staff.

My favorite beach in the world. However, this year I was so disappointed that everybody was playing music so loudly at the same time. So, if you are looking for enjoy the sun and the ocean and relax, this is not the place to go.

A wonderful & magical place. The scenery is beautiful and the people are colorful. At the end of the day, a cold beer and a well made Acaraje, standing along the wall of the beach front watching the sunset is a scene that bring tranquility and peace.

Loe space for simple diver or swimmer. Full of bahian tourists. No international tourism.

Very fancy and a little expensive place. The food was tasty but a bit weird concept. Would like to go back to try other things. They have vegetarian options, but not many compared with the huge size of the menu. Service was quick, but very insistent and kinda pushing us out to leave, even though the place was empty.

One of the best restaurants I ever been in Brazil!!! Amazing food, staff and environment. I was there last Tuesday and unfortunately I don't remember the name of the waiter that was serving us (I think his name was Felipe). What a guy!! Amazing service and very friendly. This restaurant is full of incredible options. I can't wait for the next time that I will visit it :))

We were received by Adrian, very nice guy. Made the whole experience a breeze. He accommodate our changes to the dishes like no other. The food was amazing. We got the fish with coconut sauce. Very tender!

Delicious, well cooked food with incredible flavours and generous portions! A stunning restaurant with great service and super friendly staff. We had Mocqueca with prawns and one with soft shell crab - both incredibly tasty and great condiments. We also had the steak and the leg of lamb witch were cooked to perfection 🤩 We all left feeling like we all had a food experience worth the money! Highly recommend.

The restaurant is good. The atmosphere is cool, the decoration is dense, and the service is notably good. Ícaro was the best! Food wise, it delivers. Tereza Paim, the chef, holds it tight on the notoriety she deserves. We ordered the mixed starters, a tasting menu of her creations. They were very authentic and hell... they do know how to fry! For the main course we ordered moqueca, the infamous most typical Bahian main course, which was flavourful and well balanced, its octopus was impeccable! For the desert... well... maybe it's not her best. We ordered the Cacau com Dengo that comprises a handmade tapioca icecream that was a little too sweet for my taste and a cocoa cake that was maybe a poor version of another Bahian delight Torta Bulgara. The dessert definitely does not deliver the higher standards Tereza Paim built throughout the dinner. We spent R$442 for a 3 course meal (we shared one desert for the 3 of us because we were really full already). It was worth it but I'd definitely try other desserts next time.

I ate here for the first time in 2017 and was surprised by the amazing food I ate, the Moqueca was absolutely the best thing I ever had. In restaurant that truly stood out in Salvador with an amazing decoration and excellent service. A return in 2018 have me the shivers again. In 2022 I had the feeling things just weren't the same and this year I'm definitely sure I paid my last visit too this restaurant. The juice used to be sensational, and is just normal. The Moqueca was buttery and far from the amazing Moqueca experience I had before with simple pieces of squid, regular shrimp. It used to be season driven but I don't see that anymore. The artificial ice-cream is full of pieces of frozen water. The place starts to feel a bit outdated as well, yet service is still great.

Got the mix appetizer and it was delicious. However, I would definitely not order it for 2 people because it’s a lot of food. We tried the chef Ana moqueca and it was very good. We’ve never had this dish before but it is similar to a curry but not as thick. This one had banana, fish, octopus and shrimp. It also comes with rice, cassava and cassava paste. You can eat it all together since we saw that from other diners.

Wow! This place is amazing. The Moqueca I ate was one of the best. I am still dreaming of the flavours of the food. I enjoyed the anbience of the Restaurant and the service was also top. Thank you for giving me this experience and one of the best taste I ever tried. I definitely recommend this place

Definitely a hidden gem in Salvador! Tried dishes I’ve never tried before like cashew steak (vegan)🤯 The restaurant is beautifully decorated and staff is friendly and super attentive It’s so good to find unique options and casa de Tereza has so many of them ;)

The absolute best item we ordered was the shaved meat and onions in orange caramel sauce. It comes with homemade bread, and is just outstanding. The Moqueca was good too, but was outdone by this strange sounding appetizer. Don't skip it!

Food was amazing, all seafood was fresh and the location was absolutely stunning. However the service was kind of rude.

The setting and views are fantastic. We found the sushi variety to be lacking and the service was not very prompt. An afternoon rain shower started spoiling g our plates and drinks and it took the staff several minutes to lower the awning. Then no one though to offer us clean plates and drinks.

For me, the best dish was the shrimp tempura. We also had the 17pc combination sushi that came with 2 pieces of something really delicious, but I don't know exactly what. All the fish was quality, but everything seemed... Lacking, I guess? The Godzilla roll was bland, the shrimp gochujang was the same... There was nothing memorable for me here. Good service and view though.

Great Japanese restaurent in Salvador. Japanese food is almost authentic. The only thing I didn't like is the dessert which I thought is too heavy for an Asian liking.

Super disappointing experience at Soho. We had to wait an extraordinary amount of time for everything, from the cocktails whilst waiting for our table to order to actually receiving the food. There was so many dishes that didn’t even arrive and we had to re-order or remind our waiter to put in our order after he had already gotten it. The tempura prawns were deep fried so hard that they were hard to chew, the spicy tuna was not spicy, the gyosa still had the prawn tails in them… I don’t mind paying a lot of money when it’s excellent food and service but this was not worth the wait. Avoid spending your money there! 😔
