As an internationally recognized symbol for a specific religion, this is an iconic building to see in SLC. It's noticeable in the skyline of the city and is very well known amongst Latter-day Saints. They light Temple Square up to the gills with Christmas lights every year, and it's always fun to walk around. The building itself is pretty spectacular - it took a very long time to build in many years ago. If you are a believing Latter-day Saint, this building and visiting it will mean much more to you than the casual observer recognizing different faith traditions. However, it is an architectural structure and can still be recognized for it's beauty. This is simply my rating as a work of architecture. It is a symbol for a Christian religion that has major influence in Salt Lake City. As a tourist coming to visit, it's a building that will likely be on your bucket list in SLC.

Full disclosure, I am not a Mormon, but appreciate the history of this people. The architecture is great and the ladies that give the tours are very friendly. Unfortunately the temple was underdone repairs, so the view was obstructed.

This was one of the most remarkable pieces of architecture I've ever beheld in my life, and I am in awe of the craftsmanship, detail and commanding beauty of this timeless edifice. the experience of touring the Temple square and the visitor center and the conference center will be a cherished long memory. I hope to return again future, and highly recommend this experience to literally anyone and everyone.

Temple Square is so beautiful. The museum is such an interesting segway to see how the religion began and understanding who the people are and what they stand for. The volunteers were so knowledgeable and friendly, ready to talk, and answer any and all questions you may have! Free!

Temple Square is almost always open, but we learned the hard way that it is closed Thanksgiving day. We still had a good time walking around the perimeter. The front view of the temple was available by going in by the Joseph ith Memorial Building. The weather was beautiful and it was fun to be there when very few others were there.

To the the people making reviews can we NOT start making false accounts of events regarding this building? This is meant for honest reviews and let's keep it that way. If you want to go spread your false accusations of chanting and interactive plays I would recommend Twitter. All that aside looked nice before it went under renovation. Can't wait till it done in 2026.

Best place on earth. It doesn't matter if you're a Believer or not you should go. To see something so instrumental in the building of so many people's faith is worth it.

Not temporarily close. Closed for 3 years and will continue under construction until 2026. If you plan to sightseeing and take a picture, sorry, it's just a construction site currently.

Amazing place to take your dinosaur enthusiast! My kids love it here. They have multiple levels with different exhibits. Interactive displays for hands on learning and to ease your mind, hand sanitizer everywhere!

Mine and my youngest son's first experience at a Natural History Museum. We were not disappointed. It was truly amazing. Between all the dinosaur skeletons, the wild life section, and the history of the Indians in Utah, it was all an amazing experience. Plus, the view of Salt Lake City is incredible.

Very nice museum with tons of interesting things to look at. We were there on a weekday when some schools were there. Had it not been for all the kids I believe we would have been the only ones there. Rocks and minerals were very interesting as well as all the fossils and dino bones. We had a great time and would recommend this as a stop for any traveler.

This was one of my favorite museum experiences I’ve ever been able to participate in. The walking amount can be a bit of a struggle for those with lesser endurance, but even then, slopes are gradual, elevators are available, and the entirety of the exhibits, save for a couple optional locations, appeared to be easy enough to navigate and handicap-friendly. The stories and presentations were excellently captured, and they made it very easy to discern between interactive and non-interactive attractions and displays. Fun for any age, with lots of visual, auditory, and tactile interactions throughout. Set aside a good 2-3 hours if you want to see everything and experience things wholly. We spent 2 and a half hours here and ended up having to be rushed out at closing time half-way through the Colors exhibit. Absolutely worth the time, the travel, and the visit.

This was an amazing experience! The architecture and exhibits are spectacular. I would totally share pictures of them, but it would just spoil the magic! I also really enjoyed the outdoor decks that give an awesome view of the salt lake city skyline. It was fun for myself, and the rest of my family. Very fun, and I would definitely go here again in the future.

Breath-taking place. You'll dive deep into the history of Utah. It'll surely give you a serotonin boost. The palaeontology section is mind blowing. Loved their collection. The dinosaur's bones are marvellous. Their mineral collections are also praise-worthy. You'll need 3-4 hour min to visit the place. They have a cafe on the ground floor. The ticket fee is $20 for outsiders, free if you have a student pass (of the U) Highly recommended place.

Had a great time here with my two small kids. Lots of steps but there was an elevator for the stroller that was quick and convenient. The dinosaur exhibit was a little hard to find and my husband ended up having to go back through with our 5yr old to find it before we left. Some of the hands on features didn’t work but most did and they were fun for everyone. The staff were helpful and our toddler was free. The gift shop is pricey but had some great stuff that the kids are still enjoying weeks later.

The Natural History Museum of Utah is a sensational interactive destination in Salt Lake City. Museum is huge, 5 levels, all each have a little outdoor patio with stuff to read. Don't lose your ticket cause it's also the key to get in an out from the patios. Lots of interaction rooms, areas and monitors. When you enter there's a cute quiz that suggests where to start. We didn't listen an started on level 5 an worked our way down and across. There's stairs an elevators. Next to the elevators on each level are restrooms. It took us about 3-4 hours to complete the museum an shop the gift shop. There's much to look at. Native american, fossils, dinosaurs, geology, the earth with minerals and plate tectonics, animals/insects, DNA, micro biology, and human/ animal evolution. An a mini zoo. I'd definitely check it out.

What a great experience and well worth the visit. Not sure of cost as I went as veteran free this weekend. Located off Wakara way at University of utah. 5 floors to explore. Native American indigenous peoples on top, an observation deck looks out over the Salt Lake Valley. Dinosaur on a level some play and Interactive for the children. Wild life exhibits on one floor. A great walk through history. Everyone should visit if not once, many times. Gift shop and food court are here to.

Nice place to visit. Lots of history. The architecture is incredible. I went during the cherry blossom season which really added to the coolness factor. Put on some nice walking shoes because you are going to add up those steps. If you park a ways off like we did, you may end up with shin splints. I’m not saying that’s what happened, but you have been warned.

Neat place to visit and learn about! The architecture is beautiful. The tour for us (school group) included being able to see the earthquake supports that have been recently placed under the building. We were also able to see the court room. In that room is a hand-made timer for helping the speakers know when to stop. The timer is in the shape of a traffic light that was built by Lester Farnsworth Wire who made the first version of a traffic light in the state of Utah, in 1912. The "traffic light" timer is still used today. There are great resources on the Utah state capital website such as scavenger hunt games and coloring sheets for use during your tour. So much to see and learn about.

Our 1st stop here upon arriving from Ft Worth, to visit family and grab some of that historic snow! We just randomly arrived, and walked right in, and took a stroll throughout the building. Tours are available, but not for us today... timing. The architecture is stunning, regal, and somewhat intimidating. Bring your best behavior, and quiet voice, as this place will transform you to a different time and place. WOW! The history, art, marble, and meeting rooms were a delight to wander about. I suddenly found my posture improving, and my respect for those before us, well... humbling. Yay for us, just spontaneously stopping in. So worth your time. Nice job Utah!

The most beautiful state capital I've visited so far. Full of history, elegant and so much fun. And the surrounding environment was just amazing. This city is really clean, beautiful and comfortable. Very attractive place as a whole.

Im not one to typically go on tours as I find sometimes they can be a bit dry. This one was actually good fun, about 30 minutes walk around that is done every hour.

This is one of the nicer capital buildings. Very large and good interior with nice Marvel and paintings throughout the dome as well kept and everything is very clean. I like to see the beehives hidden in the architectural and art throughout

Wow! What an amazing capitol! We stopped here early Sunday morning and found it to be open to the public. With multiple floors to explore and tons of displays, we spent a solid hour and more learning about various pieces of Utah's history. Well worth a family visit!

Very impressive in architecture and size. Great 360 degree view of SLC and further out. Has chimes or bells and rings on the hour, perhaps more often. Arrived at 6pm so it was closed for the day.

Five stars? How about all the stars… we happened to show up in time for the noon organ recital. With just a handful of us there, It felt like a private concert on one of the world‘s great musical instruments. It literally brought tears to my eyes Look, no matter what your faith tradition or beliefs this is truly a wonder. Visit Temple Square, walk the tabernacle … amazing place… oh and the docents are friendly and knowledgeable. Say hello.

No need for tickets. There are sisters everywhere to help guide you and answer any questions. They offer tours as well. All free of charge. The Temple is currently closed until 2025. But the Tabernacle and Convention Center are open to the public, as well as Temple Square. The Tabernacle offers an organ recital at 12 PM. Doors open at 11:50 am. Very clean restrooms. Bring drinks because no food or drinks are available.

Such a beautiful, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was so nice and friendly giving us good background info on the Tabernacle. The acoustic demonstration was amazing! Great sounds!

We randomly stopped in for a quick visit during the evening with zero crowds. The pipe organ was on display and being played for a private group of only 3 guests! We sat down, remaining still and quiet... and took in the feeling of majesty and power. The acoustics were perfect to our novice ears and we found ourselves somewhat disappointed when the display ended. I can't even imagine the feeling of a full Choir! Wow

What an amazing structure, rich with heritage. It is hard to imagine how this building was constructed without all of the modern tools and machinery we have now. And the organ is truly magnificent!

We did a quick self guided tour of the tabernacle and it was enjoyable. There were only a few people visiting while we were there. I’ve seen it on TV since young, but finally got to see it in person. Unfortunately there was no performance while we were in Salt Lake City. The pipe organ

I like to visit gardens and nature centers while traveling. I was able to fit in Red Butte Garden on a Sunday afternoon before dinner while visiting Salt Lake City. The entrance is very inviting , you can almost sense the beauty that you are about to experience before you even open the doors. The staff was extremely cheerful and friendly. They took care of our ticketing, one girl complimented my necklace, the other made sure to tell us where to start and guided us towards the map (which was very helpful). There are some many different garden areas … every twist and turns leads to more breathing beauty and an overload of pleasure to your senses as you smell the heavenly scents, see and touch all the different plants and flowers and hear the birds. Everything is so peaceful! There are so many little spots kind of hidden from the main path you could spend all day nestled in nature. There were also lots of hiking trails we did not get to experience. We hiked morning and night our entire Utah trip , including all morning this day, so at this point (our very last day in Utah) we were just looking to experience calm and relaxation and that’s exactly what we got! The gift shop is wonderful and even the vistors center has lots to see if you want to explore more. There was a photography exhibit going on … but also other beautiful plant rooms and even the stair cases going up are adorned with nature! I really loved it here and if we ever go back to Utah again, I will put this on my list of to-dos… and stay there 1/2 the day!

Visited on Labor Day. Labor Day is one of their free days. Normally ticket cost is about $14 for an adult. Unfortunately some of the hiking trails were closed due to construction. Been on them before and they are great with beautiful views of the city. The gardens have a ton of different species. Walking through you get fragrance and aromas. Even on a rainy day we had a lot of fun walking around and enjoyed the plants, aromas, and views. Worth it! If this review was helpful, please give it a Like!

I grew up going to Red Butte but have appreciated it more as I’ve gotten older. It’s outdoor amphitheater is my favorite concert venue and I had my bridal taken in the gardens (in June when the Wisteria is bonkers!). This year we attended Red Butte’s Halloween event, Boo-tanical Gardens, and were totally blown away. They went all out! It was my favorite Halloween activity we did this fall. The fairytale-themed scavenger hunt led us on a big loop through the gardens (bonus for having plenty of space for social distancing) with a different theme in each area. Even my two-year old was able to enjoy the hunt because each item was held by a skeleton he was able to help spot. The signage and stories throughout were masterfully done, tying in plant life and appealing to the older end of the age spectrum. The gardens were gorgeous with their changing leaves, mums, and an impressive amount of blooms still in tact—not to mention the highest quality decorations. This will definitely be a yearly tradition for us!

Gorgeous place for a lovely walk and peaceful spots for relaxation. Wheelchair accessible, some steep slopes and inclines but totally manageable. Loved the herb, medicinal, and fragrance gardens. Tons of flowers, bees, and butterflies while we were here. Lots of benches for seated opportunities. I think this is a lovely walking space for exercise. You can do as many loops and varieties of paths. Staff were super friendly to accommodate us, we needed to store one piece of luggage and backpack, as we made this one hour pit stop bedore our flight.

Amazing place! If you're wondering how to get a yard garden going, come here for inspiration and to see how different plants grow. A great place to discover native plants and water wise plants. They offer a great concert series here too. Keep updated on that via their website.

Red Butte Garden is a hidden gem in the Salt Lake Area. Even for those who may not typically be into gardens, you will find beauty to enjoy in this garden. The botanical gardens go on and on and on and opens your eyes to how many various types of species there are of different flowers, plants, trees, grasses, bushes, and shrubs. So many of them look gorgeous but also smell amazing. There’s tons of small benches and alcoves that you can step off the trail onto and enjoy a picnic or have a private conversation with a loved one. I’d highly recommend this as an activity for any visitor coming to the Salt Lake Area!

I'm not a local but if I were I would visit this place all the time. I was there in June and it was so beautiful. I spent about 6 hours there and wasn't ready to go. I especially love the hiking trails that are behind the gardens as you feel like you're in the wilderness but you can't get lost. The only negative is that there is no option for food that I found. A café would be perfect here.

Gorgeous garden. Lots to see. Only wish I could have gone without so many people there. Seemed there was someone parked at every cool photo opportunity. The gardeners were all friendly. Can’t say the same about the girls at the front desk. The views at the top of red butte are worth the hike. Very pleased with my visit!!!

Red Butte Garden is such an array of luscious, greens, spectacular flowers, and plant life. The views over Salt Lake City are impeccable. It's breathtaking to walk around and see every name of every living thing. The beauty and perfectly intricate details of these gardens are amazing. You can sit bathe in the sunshine while gaining such a sense of tranquility. I highly recommend this place to everyone for people who love the wonders of nature.

I had a few hours to kill one morning last week in Salt Lake so I decided to take advantage of my membership at Red Butte garden and pay a visit. I was afraid because of the hot weather that it would not be in the greatest shape but boy was I wrong! It is absolutely stunning. What a great way to enjoy some time in Salt Lake. It was quiet with lots of shady spots to rest and take in the beauty. I highly recommend.

Very quaint old-time Mexican. The line is long, but the food is quite tasty. I really enjoyed the Beef Flautas and tacos. The mole was also delicious and fresh. I personally prefer a spicier Mexican cuisine, but the flavors were good.

Very good! I see why all the hype. The tortilla chips aren’t greasy and the salsa has a nice kick to it. I ordered the 7 mole sampler so I could taste each one, wow…amazing to taste each and the differences. I forgot all the names, but my favorite was the darkest one with chocolate undertones. I ordered shrimp fajitas and a skinny margarita on the rocks. The drink was strong & good and the food was even more delicious! Highly recommend reservations. I had one thankfully otherwise it was an hour wait.

I’ve been driving past the Red Iguana everyday for 16 days while staying in Salt Lake. Every evening I see a huge crowd of people waiting to get in. The saying goes, go where the locals go. Being a lover of Mexican food, I googled it and read the reviews which are raving. Having the chance tonight and driving by earlier than usual I pulled into the lot and walked in and was seated and served instantly. I ordered the Red Iguana combo. This was hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I can’t really add much to the reviews that are already posted. I will be going back and when in town with family I will be bringing them here. Do yourself a favor and visit. You won’t be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in Salt Lake City. The service is always fast - 5 The food was excellent - 5 And atmosphere - 5 This restaurant is the original and has limited seats when busy. Make sure to reserve a day before so you can get in quicker. Had my favorite usual - steak n shrimp fajitas and a good dessert Fried Ice Cream.

I have been meaning to try the Red Iguana for several years now and I finally made my first visit today. It definitely lived up to all to all of the positive reviews I've seen. The first thing that stood out was the great service. We were immediately met with friendly smiles, taken to a table, and we had our water and chips and salsa quickly. After ordering, our food came out quickly and tasted great. I had the Tacos Don Ramón and they were amazing. I will definitely be retuning. BTW, Tony is a great server and gave us excellent service.

My husband and I ate an early dinner here to finish off our anniversary weekend. It was delicious!!! Authentic Mexican food right in downtown Salt Lake. If you’ve never been here before, you should absolutely go. And don’t skimp on dessert!! We got the fried ice cream. It was pretty much the best we’ve ever had! Yum! As for dinner, I got the Enchiladas A La Salado. I was skeptical at first but it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend it! I’m not sure what my husband got. He absolutely loved it though! The service was great. Everyone was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. We highly recommend Red Iguana. But....if you do on a busy night, you definitely should get a reservation!

Love this restaurant! Had to wait an hour for our table but was worth every minute of it. Our server was very sweet, friendly, and professional. Food was absolutely phenomenal (see the pictures). If you want authentic Mexican food, get to Red Iguana asap!

Yum! Holy smokes we came in for lunch and it was so delicious 😋 .. plentiful portions and was so stoked that we could make reservations for lunch. Service was great and there was tons of seating. Food was incredible. So many mole versions to try. Tacos were great. Definitely something for everyone.

I’m not sure why people think this restaurant is so great?? The service was lovely, but the food was mediocre and bland — a sorry excuse for authentic Mexican. I got fish tacos and had to drown them in salsa. Their tortilla aren’t that great either. We couldn’t even finish the guacamole because it was so dull… my husband got pork tacos and said they were forgettable. Definitely not interested in going back.. which is a shame because I had high expectations based on many recommendations (and the fact there was a line out the door).

Great place to grab a lunch and enjoy a convenient. Music paying was in the background. Server was spot on - not over engaged in my life but very attentive to our meal. Burgers were good. Fries were awesome and beer was great. We had the Squatters Bourbon and the Blue burgers. One had the wedge fires and one sweet potato fries. Beers: Full Suspension, Mosaic IPA, Juicy IPA - favorite in order Mosaic, Juicy, Squatters the reason for order was the Full Suspension had more of a bitter taste that we weren’t into on that day.

Our family I visited squatters after a long day of soccer. The atmosphere is exciting and fun. They have a small gift shop in the front restaurant. The staff are quick and friendly. The food is above average. The only thing I did not care for was their cheese curds. They tasted like cut-up mozzarella stick. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Fun atmosphere but the food was not very good. My fish and chips were soooo incredibly salty and the yellow curry was flavorless. I wouldn’t go back for food - just drinks. Our waiter was super nice and fun, though!

First stopped at another local brew pub, but the wait was 45 minutes so moved on to Squatters. So glad we did. The atmosphere was so much cozier. We sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with the bartender. Custom craft cocktails and good recommendations on local beers. Surprised to see calamari on the menu and it was really good. Steak was cooked a little rarer than ideal, but the fries were good. Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich - delicious and not too saucy. We will return if we are ever in Salt Lake City again.

Just flew into SLC. It was mid-afternoon so I didn't want to ruin dinner plans but was hungry. Found this gem in downtown area not far from my hotel. Service was great and the food better!! Vibe was a winner. Actually had a few choices of hard ciders and picked a local one which was a great suggestion from the wait staff.

Went for dinner. They had a good feel to the place and a long bar area with plenty of seating options there and with a large dining area right behind it. Staff were friendly and food was good. Felt clean and just a nice atmosphere and relaxed ‘vibe’ for sure. I’ll go back…

This place was pretty good. The server was fun and friendly and the service was quick. The carnitas nachos were the best item for us, and the tots were good too. BBQ pork sandwich was okay, but felt a bit undersized for the price. The pizzas were pretty tasty though. I would say stay away from the cocktails tho, as they were pretty uninspiring. The old fashioned just tasted like bourbon on the rocks, which is good, but not what I ordered. I'd still come back as it was still a good experience.

Hands down BEST bison black & blue & fried pickles in the state. This is my go to cheat meal, as a bodybuilder I look forward to a good burger and something that isn't going to upset my stomach like beef. This is the spot!! Also I enjoy being able to just order a shot of their apricot beer which is locally made in their brewery.

We have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. They brew their own beers and offer many other brands. The food is excellent and the service is fast and friendly. It is located close to the city center and within walking distance of many hotels and the Salt Palace. Give this place a try if you are in the Salt Lake City area.

Solid pub for food and beer in downtown SLC. Very cool historic building with fun mural art. Gets busy on the weekends, you can add your name to the waitlist and walk around/explore downtown in the meantime. Metered and parking lot spots nearby. Nice covered patio in the back for outdoor dining which is dog friendly. The food was decent but pricey for what it was. Slower service but friendly staff. Burger was good. Jambalaya was okay. Pretzel was fluffy and rich, a bit over salted for my taste. Brigham’s brew was a nice local cream soda but don’t look at the nutrition label if you want to enjoy it. Peanut butter chocolate pie was great, bread pudding not so much. Would just stick to American pub food next time, that seems to be their specialty.

Needed something for dinner while traveling on my own for dinner and love checking out breweries. Sitting at the bar here was exactly what I was looking for! Got to try some good brews and also had a lot of food options for dinner! I got the Mac and cheese with broccoli added but a lot of other dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen also looked and smelled good! Seemed super busy on a weeknight- not sure if it’s usually that busy or more so because of events that were going on at the Salt Palace convention center. Took a little bit to place an order both times (beer and then food), but the wonderful employees working the bar area were very busy and going as fast as they could!

It had a great beer selection and the food menu was very diverse. Service was fast and friendly. The spicy fried pickles were delicious. The turkey sandwich could have been better but was fine. Would definitely return again in the future.

Happened to stop here for lunch since my husband had to pick something up at his office and Red Rock is literally right across the street! Ordered the Kobe Burger which was a special and it was incredibly delicious with the Garlic Aioli. Also ordered the Alaskan Fish and Chips and I thought the batter was a little thick but it was still nice and crispy and the fish was flaky and delicious! Swirly shaped fries were fun and nicely done. Service was good as well. Parking in the area isn’t the best so be aware of that when you’re at this location.

This restaurant was recommended because children are allowed in this establishment. The service was quick, and the food was average. It's bar food. We enjoyed the atmosphere. They have t v screens playing sports. This is a cool place to visit.

We had a wide variety of beers all of which were really good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very attentive. I only have two small complaints. The“tiger shrimp” which is an appetizer definitely wasn’t tiger shrimp. You can see from the pictures they are extremely small. However, they still tasted good. I personally had the lasagna. The homemade sausage was extremely over powering in my opinion. All of the other food was delicious.

I met a friend here for lunch before we both left town. I had the avocado toast and a Caesar salad. Both dishes, though simple, were absolutely delicious. I would happily order either again. My friend had a burger, and she raved about how well seasoned it was. We spent quite a while at the table just chatting, and the server was both attentive but did not rush us in any way. Great experience!

Red Rock Brewing is an absolute favorite of mine. For a few years now some friends and I go for birthdays and it’s always delicious. The pizzas are all good, among the sandwiches the patty melt is great too. But my favorite, by far, is their French onion steak sandwich. It’s just fantastic through and through. It’s steak, Gruyère cheese, mozzarella, caramelized onions, on toasted sourdough with French onion an juis for dipping. You need to use a knife and fork, and the sandwich gets soggy so don’t dilly dally. But man, this is good food. I 100% recommend the sweet potato waffle fries as the side. All their sides are good but the sweet potato fries are the unanimously the best (at least among my party). I always get their draft root beer. But I’ve been told their selection of drinks is top notch. PRO TIP: The menu offerings at their downtown location vs fashion place and park city are slightly different. They’re mostly the same. But if you have a specific thing you’re looking for give the menu a glance before you go. For example, their bread pudding (a favorite of mine) is only served at fashion place.

Good, not great. That being said, the service was good. We didn’t feel rushed at all and our server showed up whenever we needed him. We tried the beer battered pickles, sausage pizza and artichoke pizza. This is where we lost one star. The pizza was good, but center loaded and the sauce was just ok. The crust, however, was good and really the star of the show. We’d go back again.

Food is excellent. Beer was great as it always is fun. Place to hang out. Great crowd. Definitely recommend the onion rings. They're out of this world. Even the neighbor on the bar was jealous of them. My only real complaint and it is a notable one. Our waitress completely abandoned us and we had to find someone else to process our check The waiter's name that helped us out in the end was Cody. Make sure that man gets all the praise. He's a goat

Had the sautéed Halibut and the dish was delightful! Even though we came with a very large group, the service was very fast and efficient. I also enjoyed their fried shrimp appetizer! I had never been here before but I will surely be coming back for another delicious meal!

The idea of Ruth's Diner is cool. She was a tough, old broad and her Diner is a trolly car. It's very popular and you should expect to wait. They offer free coffee 'round back in the mean time. When you make it to your table, waiting will be their famous mile high biscuits. They're neat looking, but they need a lot of butter and there is a homemade jam at the table. I ordered the quiche of the day. The veg was clunky (pictured) and there was too much of it versus the egg. The staff is very enthusiastic and friendly. People love it, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm sure given another opportunity I would probably find something I'd like.

Cool setting in the mountains. Kind of just pops up out of nowhere. Seems super popular, a lot of people wait to sit on the patio outside when the weather is nice. We were lucky enough to get seated immediately inside even though they had a large crowd. The food was great, I thought the biscuits were top notch. I like a large, dense, buttery biscuit and this hit all of those criteria for me. Our server was very friendly, there were some long gaps between visits to our table but they were very busy and it didn't ruin the experience. Would definitely go back.

Great place. Love the outdoors patio seating. Wonderful food cannot go wrong with any item. Did not have the hamburger, but it must be good because every table I say someone was eating one. Sirloin and shrimp was tremendously good. Wife had pot roast and mashed potatoes. Excellent service. Weekend entertainment was a great touch to a great night.

Great meal. Good service. Ask for Hayden, he will take good care of you. Had the pot roast and it was amazing. Tender meat, delicious gravy and tasty vegetables. So good. Stop by and visit this treasure nestled in the canyon.

Gorgeous patio, gorgeous setting! I did have to wait for a while but that was expected on a Sunday morning, and there are nice places to sit and wait. The biscuit was good and so was the service. I got the salmon Benedict which I didn’t love, though - the polenta was really mild and so the overall effect was a little less tasty to me than a regular English muffin might have been. It was fine, but not great. I would be happy to come back and try another dish sometime, though! I was still happy I gave it a try.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch outside SLC. Nested in beautiful mountains. Great elevated diner fare. Best ever house made biscuits that are served complementary before each meal. Wonderful history of Ruth starting the diner. So much charm and good eats. Highly recommended for family meal, a date, friends catch-up or really any occasion.

Food was good. Wife & I had the pot roast. Had a very good home style taste and feel to it. Which was welcomed. We sat outside. It was wonderful, live music and good atmosphere. My whole family enjoyed it. Our server had a good personality about her as well. Thanks. Only thing that wasn’t that good was The gluten free bread for my mother. Not blaming the restaurant because it’s always hard to find good gluten free bread.

Took some out of town friends for a drive up the canyon. They loved the setting of this little diner, surrounded by the mountains. Inside was so cute and we got seated immediately. We all got breakfast dishes and everything was spot on! I got the king of hearts omelette (heavy on artichoke and mushrooms) and I have not stopped thinking about it. Will be back.

This place is pretty good. They have a small town diner feel and they have good portion size. When you sit down they give you a nice fluffy biscuit!! They have some yummy jam right on the table for you to put on your biscuit. The biscuits and gravy were yummy! I would recommend getting an extra side of gravy. They put onions in their hashbrowns, which was odd for me. Our waitress was nice, but extremely slow and didn't want to make any eye contact. They also have some cute shirts and mugs with flamingos!

I got there just as the Sunday lunch rush finished so I was able to be seated quickly. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The meal was very good. I suggest eating only half the biscuit if you want to have a dessert. 🥰

The biscuits are crispy on the outside and the texture is just fine not too dry, and the food portion is large. Good place for hanging out with friends or family.

Amazing history here. Ruth's is a classic in the Valley. Atmosphere is great, food is good if you know what to get... Salmon, fried pickles, Eric's chicken, and you must get the chocolate malt pudding. One of kind. Worth the drive up the canyon just for the pudding.

Good food and experience, but not worth the price. Pretty bad value. I’ve been to Italian restaurants with a similar experience, that was just as good or better, and much cheaper. The bruschetta and bread (with homemade dipping sauce) was my favorite part. The lasagna was pretty darn good, but did seem a little over cooked. We also got the pasta sampler to share. It had some interesting flavors, but overall enjoyable. My friend got the steak, and wasn’t impressed, but he loved the soup.

One of the best restaurants in Utah. If you haven't been, then you need to make a reservation and go. This is a complete culinary experience. As close to eating in Italy as you can get. Service was out of this world. Food presentation and taste is off the charts great. Will definitely be returning

First time at Valter's - Christmas company dinner. The restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays, reservations went smoothly, and our party was seated right away and was greeted warmly. Had the privilege of being served by John. He was personable, and friendly, and gave us recommendations on the menu. The "magic" sauce they serve with the bread at the beginning of the course blew me away - what is in that sauce?! Normally I'm a "butter" gal with bread, but that sauce was a left hook - didn't know it was coming and it knocked my taste buds out of the park - seriously it was so good! Cioppino was good as well as the pasta sampler - got to taste a bite or two of each of the most popular pasta dishes.

We absolutely love Valter's. It's our favorite Italian restaurant. The food has fresh ingredients, which makes the dishes tasty and delicious. The staff are so friendly and the service is on another level. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We decided to try this place for my birthday while visiting- it was slammed on a Tuesday night but they still were able to accommodate us only an hour after walking in. Even though they were all clearly busy, the service was impeccable from start to finish. I will remember this dinner and the experience for the rest of my life! They know how to make a lady feel special on her birthday! The tiramisu, espresso martini and the house dressing for the bread were personal highlights. Brenda deserves credit where credit is due- she knew the menu, knew how to adjust her serving style to the type of people we were and coursed everything perfectly! Literally cannot recommend this local spot enough. It’s worth every penny!

Oh my goodness! The food here is legit! So amazing! Pricey? Yes! Worth it? Absolutely! They have wonderful specials, I would suggest sharing the sampler special. Trust me it'll feed two adults just fine. This is a must have experience. And don't forget dessert!

Staying in SLC for business and walked by this place and it was very busy so ate here the next night, Troy was the server and did an amazing job outlining the offerings. Food was amazing, bread and dipping sauce off the charts. Will definitely come back. Was just in Italy and the homemade pasta here is top notch.

Great food and excellent service. The atmosphere was a little stuffy but if you want a more high-end business dinner could be a good fit. The server Tony was an excellent guide through the menu. Drinks were great. The pasta was a highlight and the burrata was one of the best burrata dishes I’ve ever had! Well done Valter’s!! Save room for dessert, the lemon gelato with sea salt and honey was incredible!!

Absolutely fantastic experience here it was by all accounts amazing and delectable. Best lasagna I have ever tasted and so many good flavors in the pasta sampler. They had an excellent wine and cocktail menu. The service was impeccable and the waiter so friendly and helpful. The only issue I had is I can get claustrophobic and the seating is a mite cramped, but I am sure I could have asked for more open seating when I made the reservation alas I did not. I am positive I will be visiting this lovely establishment again and again in the future, thank you for an unforgettable experience!!
