One of the most photographed structures in Puerto Vallarta. It's a monument that consists of four arches and five columns, that's about it. Located along the Malecon, it's a popular place for photos and a good landmark for meetings. The monument itself is not particularly impressive or interesting. Once you snap your photo you'll be done with it, and probably never look at it twice again.

Well worth the workout to climb the many steep steps and grooved streets to the top of this magnificent spot. You need to be in decent physical shape to make this climb and even then, bring water and take your time. Some of the steps are very steep and broken as is the street, so make sure you have great walking shoes. It certainly is not a walk in the park. There are a few different paths to take, some easier than others, so pay attention to where you start and what route you take. It will take 30-45 minutes at a nice steady pace and most will have to take a break every 5-10 minutes to catch their breath and take a drink. When you reach the old cable car that is not in use, you are almost there. When you do reach the "top of the mountain" (the location of the cross), absolutely go the extra few flights up the tower for the most amazing view. There are a few benches to rest in the shade at the bottom of the tower. There is no running water or bathrooms (they were locked when we were there), so be prepared. Bring a small towel or two to wipe the sweat or soak them in water to cool down. First thing in the morning would be best to make this trek as it could be brutal in the hot sun later in the day. You are in mostly shade as you climb! Again, bring plenty of water! The trip down is so much easier, so if you made it up, don't worry about getting down. Peace & Love!

Amazing views of the entire bay of Puerto Vallarta. The steep streets, and narrow step stairs up to the top are well worth the workout. Just at the base of the stairs before going up to the top, you might find a little street vendor selling bottles of water. We stopped and had a chat with the lady that runs it from her debt porch on the way back down. She also offers a local frozen fruit popsicle like delicious refreshment! After that descent from the staircase that are amazing. Made from in season local fresh fruits! Definitely, a hidden gem for the adventure!

The view was outstanding but you do need to be prepared for the climb. Although it is not a lot of steps, they are taller and vary in size. It will take you a few minutes to get to the top. You get a nice view of the bay and the backside of the city. If it's not 112 I say go for the walk.!

It's worth the hike up! Make sure you do it for sunrise (not just because of the extra beautiful view/experience but because of the coolness in the morning)! There are always people going up, so very easy to find. Enjoy 😊🌵

One of the few places where you can watch the sunrise or the sunset in PV. This place is not easy for everyone. The steps are uneven, steep and few railings. I would be very careful especially with kids and elderly. There's a newly opened store when you reached the top. It's a great way to get iced cold drinks to quench your thirst. There's a funicular if you don't want to use the steps, but I haven't really seen it operational.

This is an excellent hike, especially in the AM before the sun comes over the mountains. It is steep especially at the end which is an ascent up stairs. The view is great and the cardio and leg work out is a bonus 💪

Not for the faint hearted. It’s not an easy walk, but well worth it when you reach the top. I have done this twice now, and both times midway up I asked myself why am I doing this?! :-). But the views of the bay are incredible! Once you reach the top, go the extra few steps and touch the cross, and congratulations you have done it and can tell all your friends about it!! Tips-were good shoes and take your time. Bring plenty of water. Allow yourself to take a break for as long as you need, the view isn’t going anywhere. Once you reach it, take it all in and congratulate yourself to achieving it! Enjoy the walk down, but be careful

The view is amazing. We went around 6:30 and chilled for about an hour until the sun set at 7:30pm. The hill + the steps to reach the top will definitely leave you sweaty but totally worth the quick hike.

My friends and I are quite fit and wow this was not an easy climb. No fees or anything like that. Unfortunately the tram was out of service so one heck of a walk all the way up. Great workout, head back down and enjoy some tacos on the beach!

It's known as the beach of the dead yet it's the calmest beach I have been to. It's a very children friendly beach with low tides. Amazing place to take a dip!😍 Beware of weekend crowds!!

I love this beach. I went there three days straight while I was in Puerto Vallarta. I even got a massage on the beach for only 500 pesos!

A fun walk to burn off the amazing food eaten all around PV in the top notch restaurants and the corner food stalls with homemade tortillas. Interesting to watch them rebuild the vehicle bridge and other infrastructure washed out from the 2021 flood.

Cool neighborhood to check out, look for the casa Richard Burton and Elizabeth taylor lived at, lots of inclines so beware of that, also a nice somewhat challenging hike upto the Mirador nearby which is must do for sunset in PV

The devastation was hard to see...but life goes on and beauty will return...baby steps

Wonderful experience to see the culture here. Beautiful area. Lots of different foods and shops to choose from. So much beautiful artwork. Boardwalk is a definite must see.

Very beautiful along the shores of the Malecón - the Pacific ocean, the beaches, the shops, restaurants, flea market, excursions and all the amazing palm trees and foliage! Lots of hustle & bustle and the locals are very friendly. It's a must visit if you're in Puerto Vallarta.

Always a pleasure to visit this location. Many shops and vendors to choose from. Love seeing the street acts and talking with the locals. Hotel Rosita is a very nice location right next to the beach and at the start of the Malecon walkway. Definitely recommend!

I had such a good time exploring this wonderful sidewalk. It is full of restaurant, musician, street vendor. It is also open late at night, so it makes it a great place for just enjoying a nice walk in the evening. But it is also really busy with tourist during the day !

That was my first place I walked around when I arrived to Puerto Vallarta! The place offers a great view, nice beaches, restaurants, and more. There were also some decent money exchange shops which was great! Highly recommend checking that broadwalk.

My wife and really enjoy walking along the Malecón while visiting Puerto Vallarta. The ocean, the local artwork, the shops, and the friendly locals make this an experience like no other. We also enjoy the local group descending from the tower on the ocean in native dress. They do this everyday around 10:30 am. If you're looking for souvenirs, you will find multiple stores while strolling the Malecón. You will be mildly approached by locals attempting to lure you in the tequila tasting or a beauty product, but a smile and a polite "no thank you" are all that you need to say. We also enjoy crossing near the Church and enjoying the activities in the square and walking in to light a candle. Safe. Vibrant. Beautiful...day or night.

Beautiful walk in the morning. Hardy any people so I could get a few nice photos of the sculptures. The art scene is great down this way and even better in Zona Romantica.

Must try is the heladonmx for the best homemade ice cream. The coconut and lime were my fav. Be prepared for vendors coming up to your tables if you eat at a beach side restaurant.

Nice place to walk and have lunch or dinner. Shopping places from locals. Lot of colors to take picture and keep good memories.

Amazing views and the sunset is beautiful. The boats right next to the peer look great. Our waiter was good but the ribs were not very moist. If you get the salmon make sure it's cooked and not just seared. Although my girlfriends shrimp and mash potatoes were amazing. Great flavor so I would get those. Thanks for a memorable night.

I chose LA Palapa for our first night on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. What a way to start a beautiful trip. We sat right on the beach just in time for sunset. The service was outstanding and always highly attentive. We had the tortilla soup and the seared tuna called tuna tatami for appetizers. Both were picture perfect plates and beyond delicious. For entrees we had the zarandeado local fish and the short rib. That fish was so perfect I actually regretted my short rib which was great but heavy and that fish was to the point that every bite gave you pause. You had to remember what you were doing level good. We ordered a fancy cheese cake to share and they also brought out a sparkler topped birthday treat for us too. We were sated and happy. We finished with a couple margaritas and called it a night. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant if you are looking for fine dining.

La Palapa didn’t blow us away, but we did have a nice experience there. The servers/service was great - very attentive and friendly. The chicken tortilla soup was pretty good but not amazing - didn’t need to order it. The coconut shrimp was good as an appetizer but was too much/too overwhelming as an entree. My husband’s fish entree was quite good, however. The view of the ocean was great, although we were constantly asked to purchase things by local vendors. They were all kind and not pushy though.

Locals raved about La Palapa and, and I was told they have been here since 1959. A timeless place to have brunch and dinner (cena) and celebrate special moments especially anniversaries. Excellent service, good selection of drinks, and an amazing view of the ocean. Really enjoyed the evening ambiance, very romantic. Love the mariachi bands too. Very lively place and great for large groups on the beach, or a romantic dinner for two. Cheers!

Fresh, delicious! Great restaurant on the beach, beautiful views with on sand or under roof seating. The Tortilla soup was the best I've ever had. Shrimp and crab enchiladas were amazing. Coconut shrimp, lobster, fish tacos...all delicious and the drinks are very good.

Location is unique by the beach. You have options to sit indoor, on terrace or by the beach! There was live music on Saturday night! Band was friendly and made the ambient relaxed and romantic. It's mostly a seafood restaurant. Despite not many options but every taste is accommodated. Service was relatively quick and responsive perhaps depending on busy they are. It's a pricy place but could be justified by the location and atmosphere. Overall was a pleasant experience.

Great food and drinks, and a great dinning experience! We had our anniversary dinner here, during the sunset hour. The hostess was very kind and I was able to arrange a floral delivery to be placed at our table ahead of our arrival. The service was great here, and the atmosphere and ambiance were just amazing! I highly recommend this beach front restaurant if you want great food and spectacular views!

Beautiful place for a sunset dinner. We had a large group with young kids so it was great to actually have the sand for the kids to play in while we ate that longer meal. Coconut shrimp was a favorite and the tomato soup had a really great flavor. Four stars because everything tasted really good, but nothing was out of this world.

Great experience at La Palapa! I called a few weeks in advance to reserve a table on the beach, as we had a large group. They were extremely helpful and our table was ready when we arrived. Beautiful interior and setting. Our drinks and food were delicious and we had great service. The only detractor, were the vendors trying to sell their wares as we dined, but otherwise we had a fantastic time!

Great food! Great service! We had our 5 year wedding anniversary dinner here. They brought out champagne (on the house) after dinner to help us celebrate! Beautiful view of the beach! They regularly adjust the umbrella shades as the sun moves, then take them down to allow the perfect view of the sunset. Definitely recommend for a nice romantic meal!

La Palapa used to be a lot better many years ago. We came back yesterday and the experience was not so great. They charge $300 pesos for two flavorless taquitos of lobster and shrimp, it’s ridiculous. We complained about the quality of the particular dish, but the waiter or the manager never bothered to follow up about it. If neither the waiter, the chef or management cares about the food they put out then it’s better to look for another place.

We had an amazing dinner at Café des Artistes. The food is delicious. Cocktails are amazing and the garden outside is something really special. We do have some suggestions to make the dining experience perfect: 1. It may be better for one person to take orders and serve a table. I think we had our oders taken and delivered by 4-5 different people. This takes away from the experience. 2. There is a lot of movement around tables throughout the night. Last night was specially busy so that's understandable but at some points, there were 5 servers gathered around close to our table as they were waiting on tables and sorting through orders. This also takes away from the guests enjoying a relaxing meal. This place is real special and we will definitely come back!

You can see why this is one of the best restaurants in PV. Well worth a visit esp if its a special occasion. They really make an effort. The restaurant itself is stunning. Tables are spread out amongst the trees with ample space between the tables and on different levels. They had a live piano and violinist which really set the tone for the entire night and you could see everyone really enjoyed it. Food was very tasty and fresh. I had roasted seabass which was incredibly fresh. My partner had the prawns which were meaty and nicely marinated. The bread (like a brioche filled with cream cheese) came with 2 types of homemade butter was so so good. The type of bread where you fill up and can't eat your actual meal. This restaurant certainly knows their stuff and how to entertain on top of that and make that special occasion for you. Will certainly be back (if that wasn't obvious from this review :))

Beautiful restaurant and amazing staff. The Asian cabbage was flawless and the short rib and filet were my absolute favorite. The octopus is delicious as well if you’re feeling adventurous!

This is the BEST restaurant experience I have ever had. The service was exceptional, the food was beyond delicious and the portions were perfect. The restaurant itself is a piece of art with multiple individual and symbiotic pieces of art all over the restaurant. We were a party of 6 and we did a wine pairing 5-course meal. there were two choices per course, and each couple ordered one of each so we could taste everything offered. I especially loved how special we all were made to feel. It was my husband’s 60th birthday and they made him feel celebrated in a way that we was blushing and laughing (he’s a humble guy). We toured the restaurant, and know if we come back, we will be booking a table in the rooftop (enclosed) garden, that looks like a lush hidden jungle. The musicians entertained us with a violin /piano mini-concerto of the Game of Thrones theme and a “Texas-themed fiddle” song. Such a perfect way to spend an evening with friends and loved ones. Highly recommend Cafe des Artistes!

Beautiful newly done restaurant! The garden is stunning. Although a busy place, it’s not loud at all. We had an amazing dinner. My husband got the muscles and I tried the cheese on the hot stone. Both were amazing. I had the sea bass and he had the other version with the skin on. The food was spot on and we enjoyed our evening! Highly recommended!!! Definitely sit in the garden if possible!

It was once the best culinary experience I've ever been in before. The food is outstanding. My respect and compliments to chefs and the people who work there. The combination of Mexican and French flavors is amazing. I have been dining here for 19 years, and it never fails to amaze, delight, and just plain wow me every time. When you step into the art filled lobby and wait for your table by the piano bar, you get the feeling that it's going to be a magical evening, and it never disappoints. The waitstaff are meticulous in their attention to detail, the menu is seasonal and fresh, and each dish had been well thought out. Beef cheek tacos and tartare were beautiful starters, the sea bass was sublime, as was the pork belly. The pulpo was so perfectly cooked it was amazing, and since it was a special birthday we had an assortment of desserts delivered as a beautiful presentation with a sparkler candle for dramatic effect. Highly recommend.

Our second visit. This time we opted for the dinner menu over the Chef's menu (which we loved last trip). Luiz and Giovanni were fantastic with their service and attention to even the smallest details. For example, recognizing that I'm left-handed and resetting my tableware accordingly at each course. We skipped dessert this trip, only because we were so satisfied with dinner. The mocktail selection was really well thought out as well. Some sweet, some spicy, and some frozen options. This is a beautiful restaurant and I highly recommend you dress accordingly.

We went for dinner to celebrate my mom’s bday and it was an exquisite experience. The food was OMG, instead of the choosing their tasting menu we picked several dishes and everything was delicious! The garden is beautiful and we had a gentleman play the harp at our table, it’s a must!

Best service ever! My son spilled his smoothies. The server cleaned up our table and offered a new drink for him. The food was tasty too. Would highly recommend. Their in house pastry is yummy, must try.

Classic gay diner vibes. If you've been to Key West, Fort Lauderdale, WeHo, or Palm Springs then you know this type of diner. Good classic American style breakfast with yummy pastries. Omelet was just right. Loved the plating. They're cash only and the bathroom, while clean is extremely hot. A nice place to nurse a hangover or pre-game a day at the beach. Service was almost a bit too attentive with the servers frequently checking in and glancing over. Drinks were good but nothing spectacular. Standard modern diner concept with a good menu and service. Exceptionally clean dining room.

This place is popular for reason, the service is top notch and everything taste great. The regret we had was ordering milk shake and moka, not because they tasted bad but just because it was too much. Will be less ambitious and just order coffee next time.

Amazing breakfast! So beautiful! The food and drinks were works of art for the eyes and the belly. We had a huge group of adults and children, the restaurant was busy and they didn't miss a beet. Every step of the service was executed masterfully and with great poise. They even when above and beyond for the kids. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Place is great. Not a “hole in the wall” but it’s excellent service, the food is quick to be prepared and there is not a bad thing on the menu. It gets busy so come early. The coffee is unreal, do not pass it up. The pastries they offer are so fresh and good.

Eating at Fredys was a highlight of our trip. The service was excellent, and the decor was inviting. We ordered two Grand Slam Breakfasts, one with pancakes and the other with waffles and smoked pork chops. We also ordered a mimosa and chiltic to wash it all down. Our taste buds were dancing as we savored every bite, and we wished we could have sampled everything on the menu. This restaurant was an excellent find in Zona Romantica, and a great way to get our day started.

OK they need to clean their drinking cups, it is very dirty. The food is average, eggs Benedict with salmon is bland, it taste fishy. Fresh fish will not have a fishy taste. The English muffin under benedict soft and fluffy. The hash brown very crispy but a little too thick and burnt... sometimes service will not give you complimentary chips, salsa and toast unless you know. however i gotten many, but the other tables, well to let u know they won't come back..

Hands down one of the best tasting breakfast I’ve had here. Make sure you try one of the delicious fresh baked breads they offer in the morning, the one with the banana in it is to die for.

I've been coming to this breakfast joint for years and I've never been disappointed. I pretty much get the same dishes every time I go -- avocado toast, Florentine scramble and blueberry cream cheese bun. All are extremely tasty. Gerald, who serves the bar, is the friendliest and most pleasant guy. All other waiters are very nice as well. They make me feel like home when I'm traveling.

Food is mostly good. I feel like they have cut corners in the past few years, for example, warm items that have cheese on them should have melted cheese. Maybe too Americanized (if that is a word!) The strawberry crepes were good

It's been so long since I returned but I've never eaten dinner. The change is not to my liking. It was a great place for cocktails with friends. They remove the main bar and close off the patio. I kept an open mind and sat down for dinner. I was not disappointed. The service was awesome and the food was yummy!! I ordered the meat ravioli!! The best I ever had! No joke. The people who I was with all enjoy their dishes. I may return before I leave for home. I totally recommend this place for dinner.

La Leche has turned into a guaranteed delight. They have the taste, the texture and the ambience. The cocktails are refreshing and their standard is on point. Plus, you can dance while you eat!

Great food and service. Loved the drinks being made table-side. Got the duck, pork leg and steak. Steak was my favorite but all was outstanding. The decor is obviously unique and definitely added to the experience. Would recommend for anybody looking for a cool dining experience, especially away from all the noise near the touristy parts of PV

If you are from the U.S. and googling restaurants to go eat this is the one you want to go to! Food and service was outstanding. Was with a party of 12 all from Houston and everyone loved the food. One of the best tasting restaurants I’ve ever eaten at in my life.

Absolutely worth the hype and the money. It really is an experience from start to finish. The service is really good, if not even a little intense (you finish the last bite of something and they're right there to take it away; sip your drink and someone will instantly come fill it up again). The food was phenomenal. First were the oysters, which were some of the biggest I've ever seen and came with 3 unique sauces. Next was the pulpo and the pork costillas, which were both to die for. For dessert we ordered the chocolate brownie and tres leches cake. The chocolate one was superb, but the tres leches was actually the one thing that disappointed us the whole dinner. We got a bottle of wine and a cocktail each, so our total came out to around $3800 pesos with tip (roughly almost $50usd/person). We were so happy we were able to try this place out.

What a taste! Words can’t describe all flavors and pictures can’t make justice either. I highly recommend this place if you are in PV on your next trip or vacay. I can’t wait to come back and try the tasting menu. My two favorite dishes: Lobster and octopus. Oh and service is beyond my expectations, way to go Management! All debit and credit cards accepted.

This restaurant is amazing! They have great menu. The items we ordered all of them were so delicious. Lobster was juicy, buttery and soft. Drinks are mind-blowing! Deserts are so unique and delicious. Interior is very interesting. Staffs are very nice! This restaurant is just superb. Highly recommending for date night or special day dinner. A must go place in Puerto Vallarta for your special occasion or any celebration.

Perfect service. I think the best I had so far. For the food, I had the green salad which was delicious. I also tried the oysters, served with two sauces, which added a great taste to the oysters. For the dessert, I tried the tres leches which was good but a little bit dense. I prefer the plain version, with regular flour and Chantilly cream, offered us as a birthday celebration of my brother in law. There was also a DJ and a band playing jazz. Honestly, they could do better in terms of music and entertainment

Don't have any negative comments, truly unique restaurant. Food and service was reminiscent of any fine dining restaurant but with an atmosphere that was really fun and doesn't make you feel stuffy like a fine dining restaurant. The fresh Oysters are a must. We want to go back to just get the Oysters before we leave town.

We had a memorable dinner here! Our server "Joe" (she said they're all named Joe) was phenomenal (friendly/fast/fun) even though it was only her first week. Food and drinks were good too!

We went there by chance and it was a wonderful experience. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Their special Fried Chicken was finger licking good and the portion was generous. Guacamole was fresh and one of the best we’ve had in Puerto Vallarta so far. And the mojito was refreshing, perfect to pair with the Fried Chicken!

This was a mixed bag. Visited twice. Wanted to eat something different over my two week stay so went in on fried chicken day. It was chicken and it was fried. I'll give it a 3. Hot, fresh, crispy but over cooked. But, the mash potatoes were great 5 stars there. The octopus on the plancha was very very good. Cooked just right. Great flavor and the sides were good. Now, here is where the train left the tracks. This Tequila is truly amazing if you don't mind spending close to $1000.00 for 2 drinks.

Atmosphere was great, a nice breeze on a hot day. Guacamole was by far the best of the meal, they even brought extra chips. Guacamole was fresh and portion was very generous. Fish and chips left something to be desired and French fries were definitely fried in same oil as the fish. Fries tasted spoiled

It's ok. Very predictable food and safe menu. Staff is great and the drinks are good. It's a stake for the less adventurous eaters. If you want something bolder and more traditional walk a few blocks and you will find great spots. I've been a number of times and I will return.

When you go to a place and every single step blows your mind, you know you found something especial. The attention to details was spectacular, the food was amazing, no words to describe the service. 10/10 all day long. Don't be fooled by the name, this place has authentic Mexican food. The best.

Great expat friendly restaurant. All the wait staff speaks English and my waiter Ariel was very customer service oriented. The food and drinks were delicious and came quickly. My first experience at Joe Jack's was fantastic. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Zona Romantica.
