Better than I remember from 1983 and better than expected up the tower. A bit pricey at €20 but they have you over a barrel if you want to do it. Great staff and supervision. Great views on a good day and interesting seeing the bells at the top of the tower. Hard to believe it's nearly 1000 years old

Worth seeing but not what I expected which really was my fault. First arriving and parking: the parking lots are located about 1.5 kilometers away from the square taking about 20 minutes walk. It was HOT when we were there. We should have considered more heat precautions. Shops: so many shops peddling tourists goods of all shapes and sizes. Purses, shirts, pins, etcetera. Very few are worth while and had I known there was a proper gift shop I would have waited for it. It's located inside near the tower. Site: make sure to walk around and take in the structures from all the given angles. Tickets for the climb to the top of tower are worth it. There is also a small fountain on the corner inside where you can get some refreshing water from a small phallic out cropping. Also worth seeing.

The famous tower. It's worth climbing to the top but you have to book ahead. The official website takes bookings up to 20 days before your visit. You take an allocated slot. The climb is not too arduous and you can pause along the way. You get some great views of the area, although Pisa is not as pretty as other towns.

We recently had the privilege of visiting the iconic Learning Tower of Pisa, and I must say, it exceeded every expectation I had. This architectural masterpiece truly lives up to its reputation as one of the world's most renowned landmarks. The interior of the Learning Tower of Pisa is equally impressive. As I ascended the spiral staircase, the sense of history and wonder deepened with every step. The views from the top are nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding cityscape are amazing and offer a unique perspective on Pisa's rich heritage. What truly stood out to us was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their enthusiasm for sharing the tower's history and significance added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. It's evident that they take great pride in preserving this cultural treasure and in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.

I have to say... I was more impressed with the experience here than I was anticipating. We visited as part of a tour through a cruise and figured we would be here and gone quickly. The grounds were gorgeous and the tower was beautiful. It was a very busy day but people were polite and courteous to others trying to get their fun shots with the tower. Very cool experience!

We visited as part of a cruise we were doing, and our cruise docked late so we ended up walking most of the way. It was well worth it though. We were able to meet up with our tour group and walk up to the top of the tower. Some of the steps up the tower have been worn down over the years so they can be a slippery, so be careful. The grounds that the tower sits on is well kept and there are various shops and restaurants in the area as well. We didn’t have any kids with us, but I would imagine small kids would have a hard time climbing all the stairs.

What an amazing site!!!! First, I saw it very quickly when I was in the train. Then when I went out from the train and was heading to the site, I saw the top of the tower! What a feeling!! Just amazing! It’s among the most impressive things I ever seen in my life! All people go there to visit the tower but you should absolutely visit the whole site: the cathedral, the museum etc… because each one of them is a must see site. I loved this place and would definitely come back during my next visit to Tuscany.

Very touristy but still very pretty. Worth a view if you're in Pisa. There are still plenty of places to get a photo and the other buildings are also very pretty. All round good visit. Didn't go inside but there's something about free entry to the cathedral, couldn't work it out.

It's a beautiful spot to see and take pictures. Located in the middle of the town, the route leads you through romantic and picturesque alleys and street. It's definitely worth a stop-over break if you pass nearby. I enjoyed seeing the tower and eating lovely food, but I wouldn't arrive here as my only holiday destination place. It's also amazingly crowded in the summer season. Heat was unbelievable 🔥, remember to take plenty of water 💧 Other places you could have seen before for free are at the charge in 2023- museum or Gardens

Fantastic historical monument! The complex includes Tower, Piazza del Duomo and Cathedral di Pisa. There was a parking close to complex with good price, although when leaving, there was issue with gate and not charged :)) There is a bazar in front and inside. To go inside the tower, need to have a ticket for 20 euro which usually comes with 1-hour wait. Ticket for the rest of the facility, will come with 7 bucks more, all for 27. I would suggest get the ticket for whole, and once you see the Piazza and cathedral, it will be your turn to get into the leaning tower. I liked to small Halal restaurant in front of the area. Overall, it will be a great experience to spend 2 – 3 hours over there.

I recommend getting there early in the morning, it's really peaceful and there aren't many people around. Buying tickets in advance is also recommended, you will then have to leave your stuff at the wardrobe and then line up to enter. The entrance is divided in groups, your group will have a precise hour at which you will enter, so you have to come at least 15 minutes before. Green pass is needed to access the tower. The steps are a bit worn-out, so you should wear comfortable shoes. The view is amazing, you can really see all the city from up there, you might feel a bit of seasickness because of the inclination

Amazing climbing the steps of the leaning tower. When climbing the steps, you clearly feel a tilt. The climb is quite long. Please be careful when you go up the main stairs there is another smaller set. Which leads to the top. Many people don't notice the passage and it's worth it . The view from the top is simply breathtaking. An absolute must climb if anyone visits Pisa.

We stopped here on our way to Rome. And it's exactly that: a nice and quick stop on your way to another destination. We spent an hour here to walk around and take some pictures. It's a beautiful and funny sight to see There is a big amount of people, but still very doable to take pictures.

Exactly what you expect it to be from what all you've read or seen about it. Did not enter as we hadn't booked tickets in advance but still pretty good from the outside. We had visited in June and it was super hot though so make sure to have plenty of water and something to protect you from the Sun.

Beautiful leaning tower, if you want to climb I'd suggest booking ahead. As gets very busy. Was full on a weekday but still space to take photos and enjoy the beauty and the tower defying gravity.

One of those moments when you actually come across this and see it with your own eyes that you marvel at the beauty of this structure. Very fortunate to book tickets to walk the stairs to the top, which is absolutely worth the time and money. You can feel the lean as you walk up and then the view from the top is just amazing.

Very beautiful little church. It’s very old but very well maintained. Unfortunately when I visited I couldn’t go inside. But even from outside is very beautiful.

Santa Maria della Spina is a wonderful little Gothic church in Pisa, on the left bank of the Arno River. Built in 1230 The facade is decorated by the most outstanding Italian sculptors of that time - Giovanni Pisano, Lupo di Francesco, Andrea Pisano and his son.

It's a rare gothic church that can be found in Italy. The church is right by the river. I honestly love the fact that the road and path pass by it shows the importance of the preservation of cultural heritage. Compared to the exterior the interior is quite bland but nonetheless, the church is a masterpiece. Fun fact the former name of this church is Santa Maria di Pontenovo, named after a fallen bridge which was never rebuilt.

Is it small? Yes But also so gorgeous. It's definitely worth walking by it, stop and take a minute to admire it.

Probably the most interesting location in the tower-area if you’re somewhat interested in frescos or religious paintings. Due to WW2 destruction huge restoration efforts have been done. It’s nice to roam through the spacious areas and take some time for the place.

I thought this was interesting and neat to see! I got the combo tickets that bundled the leaning tower tickets and a bunch of other attractions here. The inside of this building was quite impressive, and there was a lot of impressive stone work, and wall paintings. Great to walk through, but I recommend budling this with the leaning tower!

Probably the most interesting building in the Campo dei Miracoli with none of the crowds that surround the tower. Although many of the frescoes are currently being restored, you can still visit the whole monument. Where the frescoes still cover the walls, it’s easy to imagine the impact they must have once had on visitors, especially the depictions of judgment day and hell!

Over a thousand years old burial site with some amazing sculptures. Definitely worth a look if you get the combo ticket with the tower.

An extraordinary historical monument that is, in fact, a thousand old cemetery. The ornated tombstones, statues, and frescoes are incredibly beautiful. It is a quiet and sober place just near the crowded Leaning Tower. I found myself deeply touched.

Tickets required. 7 for just the place or 10 for the complete thing minus the tower. With the tower it’s like 27. Pretty cool! Worth it if you get it as part of the entire tour. Lots of art and history to take in.

A burial site. Interesting murals and frescos. Often overlooked compared to the other buildings in the complex but I reckon it is one of the more interesting building.

Very interesting place, remember to visit the Museo delle Sinopie afterwards to really understand how beautiful this place used to be. 30 minutes was enough time for us to visit it entirely.

Exquisite. Even if you are not particularly into early mediaeval religious art, this museum will still take your breath away. I never appreciated how talented and important the artists of Pisa were in the 11th to 14th century. When Pisa was invaded in 1405, the artists of Florence and Lombardy took over. The style changed. Beautifully presented in this old former convent, for me this was an unexpected highlight of my visit to Pisa.

Wouldn't recommend it. You have to wait a really long time to get in, the expositions aren't intetesting and there was barely any text that tells about these exhibitions.

Most visitors to Pisa just think of the tower as the main attraction but there is more beneath the skin of this lovely city. Beautiful buildings, fantastic restaurants (a fraction of Florence prices) and this gem of a museum. Set in the converted church of San Matteo, there is a beautiful display of Pisan medieval art and historic items from Pisa's past. Do visit if you have time. Just sitting in the tranquil cloister is so relaxing after the bustle of the tourist hot spots.

Really outstanding collection of medieval art, sculptures by the Pisanos plus Masaccios and Ghirlandaio. Really worth the 5 Euros and as a bonus no hordes of turists, one can really take the time to admire.

An exceptional place for the quality of the works exhibited. Tourists seem to ignore the place. That's a blessing. You'll have it to yourself. Visit the painting section first. Then take a break. Lunch can be had near a city gate nearby. Then back for the sculpture section. The Pisano school is outstanding

Interesting former palace laid out as an art gallery. Lots of history and varied collections of art.

Went to see the Keith Haring exposition, definitely something interesting to see and standing in nice contrast to renaissance art you traditionally see in museums in Toscany.

For me, this is the best art museum in all of Tuscany...and probably in all of Italy. One of my favorite museums actually. Whoever is curating their shows is the absolute best and should never stop. I went to a Warhol exhibit here, a Modigliani, a Dali, a Toulouse-Lautrec, a Keith Haring... they're all just so thorough with loads of works from the featured artist. So many times in Florence, especially at Palazzo Strozzi, you go to see the works of a big name, and there are only a handful. It's pretty disappointing. But I've always been extremely pleased in Pisa and make a trip to see the new exhibition they have, which is always the theme of Pisa's December marathon for that year. I love it!

Palazzo Blu is a great exeperience while in Pisa. There is a permanent exhibition where you will find a lot works of art and furnishings. When I visited, it was a temporary exhibition with beautiful art of Keith Haring. You can find on their website what is new.

We loved visiting Palazzo Blu. Very cheap admission and you get to see so much of the history of the palace as well as Pisa itself.

A very interesting exhibition that makes you think. Beautiful photos are definitely worth seeing. Parts of the exhibition are found in the ocean plastic bottles, containers that still look the same after 40/50 years. The entire exhibition prompts you to think about what impact we as a human have on the environment and how much we still don’t know.

We stumbled across this deli while on a self-guided walking tour of Pisa. There were a lot of options to choose from. It was busy but the line went quick and the orders came up fast. The staff were friendly and patient with English speakers. The sandwiches were fresh, large and a very reasonable price - well worth the trek over if you are close to the area. We took our sandwiches and walked around the botanical gardens that were near by - perfect way to have lunch! They have a lot of variety and are willing to make to your liking with no issue.

Delicious vegan sandwich (my partner had non vegan). Good value for the portion size and the piazza is very cute to sit in the sun and eat. Mine was the 'vegano' and had courgette, pepper, rocket and olive tapenade. There's also the possibility of building your own sandwich (or adding to one of theirs). Super yummy.

I came here 4 years ago and had the best sandwich I’d ever had, so good that I’ve thought about it ever since! Today I went back and it was even better than I remembered. The staff are lovely and the prices reasonable. 100% recommend.

What an amazing place where you can grab a very delicious panino with all local flavors. Must try!!! We enjoyed fully their special 12. For students they apply a special price.

Huge sandwiches and served on a cutting board. Definitely not your typical deli sandwiches. They have a massive menu and you can customize your sandwich however you want. They are also very helpful with whatever questions you have. They're mostly a walk up counter so seating is a struggle but there is a small courtyard right outside where they bring you your food. Highly recommend!

One of the finest wine bars we've been to in Tuscany. The guys will always choose a nice wine from their selection, we also had crostini with lard, liver, salsiccia, and sopressata, and these snacks were soooooo good. Great place, top service.

Lovely takeaway paninis. Great selection of alternative meats - definitely recommend the Goose salami and bresaola paninis. Friendly staff and cute plaza outside where you can sit and enjoy one of the best sandwiches you'll ever have.

Amazing sandwiches and just all around vibe in the store. They have a sign outside that says adopt a tourist and save them from plastic lasagna, rubber pizza and wind filled panini and they are 100% right. If you are visiting Pisa skip the touristy restaurants that are going to be bad and head straight here for incredible sandwiches

We found this very yummy sandwich shop after visiting the tower! It was delicious and the meat was fresh and the bread was scrumptious. We got water,coke,beer, #10, #12, and # 11 sandwich. I’m not sure what was exactly on them cause I can’t read Italian but assume some prosciutto, gorgonzola, mozzarella, pesto, tomato, and probably some other stuff. But it was overall good and quick to eat. The guy was also freindly!

We had *lampredotto* but its particular taste didn't drive us crazy….then, we had a platter with some cold cuts of salami and local cheeses, with bruschetta tasting. An informal place, where we talked a lot with the friendly owner Giacomo and, also, with the very sociable waiters. Recommended for a quick break.

The best panini we had in four days. Tasty, cruchy but not dry, generously filled. Great combinations of ingredients so the only problem is what to choose. Staff was lovely and made our order priority as we were in hurry.

Great experience, would highly recommend to everyone!! We enjoyed a board of cold cuts and cheeses, and a glass of red wine. The guys working there were very friendly, made suggestions on how we should combine and various cold cuts and even suggested the wine. Not too many spots to eat inside, so go before the rush hour, or just enjoy one of their delicious sandwiches take away.

We had the lampredotto in soup and the spread of Tuscan meats. Previously I had come for a sandwich. Everything is recommended! Come early and there is no line. The staff is super friendly. Note that there is no table service but you get to sit under the trees of the square or at some simple fold out tables under a little canopy.

The best food we ate in Pisa. We ate here twice and enjoyed a variety of starters, pasta, steak, and desert. Everything was absolutely delicious and the best traditional Italian food. The atmosphere is amazing both inside and outside. The service is excellent with expert advice and recommendations. They also have specific wine of the house, which is amazing, both red and white. The prices are also very good.

The food was really great, but they'll charge you for bread even if you don't ask for it. We were told that's normal in Italy - which is fine. However they did not bring any olive oil, vinegar or butter when we asked. We told the waiter and he gave us attitude which was unnecessary. Conclusion: great food, can be better service.

I thought the food was very good, even though I ate a seafood risotto that didn't feel that much like a risotto, more like a seafood rice, but it was very good. The torta della Nonna was also very good and served warm. The decoration is beautiful! They have outside sitting on the street side, I've seen pictures of the inside garden, but it was closed when we visited. Edit: we visited again in April and the garden was open and truly very pleasant. Being Easter Monday, the restaurant was full and service a bit slow, but other than that, the food was once again delicious!

Visited Osteria Santi with my girlfriend on our second day in Pisa. The staff is kind and professional and the portion sizes are enormous. We ores some cured meat with truffle for anti pasti which was great. The pasta and second menu were also good and tasteful. As a dessert we shared a cheesecake that had a perfect level of cheese taste. All in all a good value for money place to eat.

Pretty good value for money. They did forget one of the drinks and also forgot to take the order of a few members of our group. The pasta’s were pretty good, the cheese/meat platters average at best. Also they clearly wanted us to go leave as soon as possible so new people could take our spots.

THIS PLACE?!! The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter(s) were so sweet! We felt at home and welcome. They made a small mistake with the pasta I ordered but fixed it asap and within 5' min without hesitation. We came back 3x in our Pisa trip because it was the best pasta ai fungi we ever had! (Please share the recipe!!) Also the bisctecca fiorentina was perfectly made and soo flaverfull. We will come back when in Pisa again! Thanks a lot for the food and kindness.

Wanted to have lunch here when visiting Pisa in 2019. Was not fated to. Finally had the chance to try it out in 2022. Great decision! The food is good, generous portions, fair prices, service attentive. Nothing more we can ask for in a touristy district such as Pisa.

Traditional homemade top quality food. Pisa is a super touristic place and therefore can be hard to find a good local placer out of the crowds. La Taverna di Emma is minutes distance walking from La Torre di Pisa and the experience was amazing. Familiar atmosphere, good service and the food was absolutely delicious! 100% recommended 👌

It is a good restaurant in close proximity to the Leaning Tower of Pisa which serves authentic local cuisine. The service is kind of slow and cold, maybe because of the lunch crowd. The food is very delicious and we appreciate that it is homemade and fresh.

Delicious italian food. The pasta is fresh and homemade. They have Illy coffee - Italy's best. The location is perfect - right next to the big parking 5 min away from the tower. The only bad think is the slow service, so if you are in a hurry avoid it because it takes more than an hour.

Food was excellent and Simone has a history for every single plate and drink you take in Osteria in Domo. Very nice service. Tiramisu was terrific. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely dinner at this place. Simone is an excellent waiter - very knowledgable about food and wine and happy to help with recommendations. We tried a local Trebbiano wine from Pisa and he told us how his friend makes it around 8km away. Very accommodating for vegetarians and I had a truffle pasta main. Great spot with extensive wine list and a classy atmosphere. If you are into good food and wine at a reasonable price then check it out - restaurant seemed much better quality than others on the same road. Grazie Simone!

Amazing service and great food at a reasonable price! We were offered to taste the wines before ordering, the meat was cooked to perfection and the waiter was very kind. Coffee was strong and we got a free limoncello. Grazie!

Terrible food and drinks - they are earning money from tourists who don’t know better and are choosing this place because of its location. We were really hungry and this food was still absolutely not enjoyable. This restaurant has been the worst we had in Italy since the three weeks we are here.

Stopped by for lunch this April with my family. Very close to the tower of Pisa. Great service and food, my favorite was the cuttlefish. I also recommended it to my husband and his family who just visited end of May. They reported excellent service, the best they experienced on their Italy trip. The staff even helped call them a taxi because they were running late to the train. Their favorite was the Florentine steak which they said was exceptional!

I tried the dish called carbonara pisana and it was so so good I just want to go back to Pisa to eat it again.
