Interesting museum that is exactly what it claims to be. No fuss, with focus on the three ships that have been found and restored. There's also a projected movie in of the halls that runs every 15 minutes or so, but that's about it. Have probably expected more for the price, but if you have any interest in the Vikings' history, this is a must.

This is a small museum with a few big viking boats. Still very impressing about the size and the craftmanship skills shown in these boats. Apart from the big boats, there is not much more to see here actually.

A beautiful museum that feels surreal to visit. A good way to admire the ancient artwork of our ancestors housed in a very unique building.

To tell the truth, I expected more from the site. I thought that the museum would be bigger and that they would have more typical and autochthonous things from the Viking age, but still, I liked it. The boats amaze a bit. They are beautiful.

Small but really interesting museum if you have a thing with Viking history. Seeing the Viking ships is overwhelming and the good part is that you are allowed to take pictures. Detailed info is offered in Norwegian, English and German. Short but very artistic movie about Viking ships is on, every half an hour or so.

Wonderful museum dedicated to the famous sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Located right next to the park that bears his name and many statues, it’s easily accessible via public transportation, either tram or buses. The exhibition itself is quite grand and extensive. Definitely worth a visit.

Small but fantastic museum with some truly unique statues from a few time periods with many artists. Highly recommend coming here and spending some time to marvel at both the small and large artifacts. The museum is laid out extremely logically by time period and category and the reusable museum map is well made and reduces waste.

A good place to get to know Vigeland and his work

Very quiet - hardly anyone there. Got to see smaller versions of the park sculptures plus more.

This museum offers an introduction to Vigeland's art and craft. Visiting the museum first and then the Vigeland Sculpture park is more rewarding than visiting that park alone.

After a couple of hours, I feel amazed from the amount of information you can get from this museum. The history behind all modern explorations to the North and south poles are included in two buildings with the focus to the Norwegian missions, which were ,no doubt, the most important and successful. It is not only the ships inside, but the history you learn on your way around the exhibitions. Highly recommended.

Situated right next to the water with a great view. Being able to climb inside the boats and to see the interior of the Fram including the rooms of the officers is great fun. The Maritime Museum Right Next to it has a nice cafe with good food.

Absolutely fantastic museum! Lots to learn about here and very well laid out! The tickets are really affordable and at a good price, and can be bought online or at arrival. The museum itself is really interesting and has lots of interactive sections. Being able to go on and inside two of the ships was such an exciting experience and it's amazing for both children and adults! This wasn't applicable to me, but the museum is very accessible and has wheelchair access and lifts. The staff were constantly friendly, and the gift shop was nice too! The seating area outside was clean and spacious to relax after the visit.

I would give 6 points. It’s astonishing view and dive into the history of discovery the both Poles. It’s history about brave men and obsession to the main goal. The Fram itself is a wonderful peace of modern history. I highly recommend to visit this museum

Really cool experience and beautifully laid out museum. Even if you don’t think you’d be overly interested in Antarctic expeditions, the narrative of the museum sweeps you up in it - culminating in an opportunity to climb aboard the ship. Also don’t miss the experience at the front of the second level, not sure what’s going on behind those doors but it’s fun for sure

Great museum for fans of exploration, sea travel and anything Arctic/Antarctic. We really enjoyed touring the ships. The exhibits were enlightening and had several interactive components. Our family enjoyed the visit from young to old.

Wonderful museum about arctic expeditions. This is another museum that shouldn't be missed, where you will see two huge ships from two different expeditions. The ships are great to see outside and even inside. You can enter in both ships and see all the cabins and can imagine how was the live on the boat of each member of the crew. You can learn about their live and stories and expeditions. Do not miss this museum as you will not regret it. You can walk from Folk museum and see a beautiful neighbourhood or you can take the boat from the center.

Must Visit place if you are in Oslo. Very nice Museum with great collections. It's near to the sea. So nature is also very beautiful here...

Very informative museum, with a lot of pictures and a lot to read. It would take couple of visits to see everything. The ships are amazing though, the way they are set up allowing the public to visit the interior and see how things used to look like is really nice. It was impressively well maintained. People with accessibility issues will definitely have trouble to see the interior of the ships but getting on them should be doable.

Loved it. We could go on board the ship and explore. Lots to read, look at. Good visit, particularly if you have children. My teenage daughter really enjoyed it.

This is probably the most friendly opera house in the world. It merged into the landscape becoming part of community where people can come and go easily, for a performance or not. The area is now much more developed than a few years ago and is definitely worth a visit for dance and/or opera lovers. I also highly recommend the guided tour but need to book in advance.

Beautiful building with nice ocean front view

An architectural wonder of the city of Oslo. Culture, art and history lovers will enjoy their visit to this magnificent monument. The architecture is modern, sober, airy and especially spacious. Do not hesitate to go inside to visit the place. If however you want to attend an opera or ballet performance, you will have to reserve beforehand! If you are lucky, the roof can be opened and you can go up on the roof to take pictures of the city of Oslo, its port and its beautiful lights!

Super spot … the view on the opera and the Oslo harbour. Depending on the light the scenario can be quit different. With a morning sun I recommend it, early morning you are here almost by yourself. The water is so peaceful.

I love this building, I’ve been up during good weather, bad weather and it is always awesome. Today we went for the guided visit inside and it is even more incredible: it is a 50 min visit that tells you a little story and lets you visit where the magic happens. Backstage, main stage, the workshop for costumes and all the props. Amazing!

Very nice infrastructure and nice place to go for opera, ballet and concerts in the city. I couldn’t make it on time to attend an event here, please check schedule and get your ticket in advance. Touristic destination, has good demand 🫶

We watched a performance of 'Così fan tutte' - loved it! A gloriously fun performance in an iconic location. Then topped off with a stroll on the roof to see Oslo at night - amazing!

One of the best Sculptures parks I have ever visited. No entry fee. A huge collection of Great Sculptures made of stones, metals with deep meaning and emotions. I fully recommend visiting this place.

Beautiful garden, easy to get to via public transport. The sculptures are much fun -- humans in so many different poses. Some serious, some playful. An enjoyable few hours.

Vast park with interesting statues. The cafe is delightful. Clean, well maintained but rather busy for a Monday mid morning. Lots of tourist groups snapping pictures with nude statues.

I love such places. Full of nature and art. Clean and perfectly cut grass everywhere. You can see the tremendous amount of work put into this place. Very nice and inventive sculptures, everyone sees something different in them. They stimulate the human imagination. Everything is thoughtful and interesting there. You can calm down and relax here, and it is difficult to find such places in the capital. For families with children, couples and solo people, it's also cool that a lot of people sit here on blankets and have a picnic, play games and sports, which is why there is so much energy here.

Spectacular huge sculpture garden. Open 24/7. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. The detail on some of these sculptures was unbelievable so much emotion and story displayed in them. Acessible via public transit and Hop On Hop Off bus.

This sculpture park is a must-see. Warning - the sculptures are all human forms and anatomically correct. Prudes should not be here. There are fantastic stories about this art, so you will benefit by researching him.

An excellent park! Lots to see and lots to take great pictures of!!! It's fun to pose like statutes and take pictures. It's a stunning garden, so just walking around is just simply enjoyable. It's free too! Highly recommended to visit!

It is really nice park, especially in sunny days you can enjoy the sun while observing Gustav’s sculptures. There are some of my favorites. It is recommended to go there via tram or electronic scooters :)

Very nice place to visit for free, with nice sculptures and lots of places to rest and chill. You can go up on a small hill and have a great view of Oslo.

I almost skipped this because it is a bit out of the way from the main strip, but boy am I glad I didn’t. Dozens of sculptures and engravings depicting humans in various forms and with different relationships to the self and other. I haven’t seen that wife of a variety of sculpture themes together like that.

Enjoyed the statues found throughout. The fountain exhibit was very cool. An easy walk from if your staying in the Karl Johan Gate area. Lots going on, obvious tourists sightseeing, outdoor exercise classes, joggers, at least one large playground area and expansive walking paths with well tended garden like areas.

Such a very good place with a pleasant atmosphere. The wine recommended was Awesome and the food fantastic. A “have to” place to come in if you like italian food an wine.

Great service, great food, genuine Italians actually running the place, recommending the best of their respekctive areas of origin. Maybe a bit pricey if you want the whole treatment, but as anything goes in Norway; expect to pay if you want it the right way.

Atmosphere and service was great. Food came quick and the waiters were very helpful and friendly. Food however was a disappointment taken the price into consideration. It's a rather expensive restaurant, but the food didn't taste much at all. The main dishes are all served with same side, mashed potatoes and salad.

Tonight my husband and I have just returned from this restaurant. We both had the bruchetta to start followed by seafood pasta and of course for me fillet of beef and desert it was the Italian cheesecake and the chocolate soufflé. So the food it's absolutely really amazing, The service well they are absolutely top of their game they are so attentive , so efficient and so polite. I absolutely love Italy, it's food it's wine,the culture all and to find this amazing authentic Italian restaurant in Norway well it was the best end to our vacation. Thank you !😊 What I also loved was like with most Italian places the owner himself was so attentive to all his clientele. Checking each table . Checking all customers were happy. Perhaps it was the jet lag or perhaps it was good pizza…the food was good. Having eaten in Italy last week it was a good time to compare. It’s not as good but still good. The crust on the pizza is a little too thick and the sauce didn’t pop enough but I’m being picky. It was good. We walked in with a party of 5 at 13:30 and was seated right away in the back. Our server did a good job and was prompt and nice.

Had to wait 30 minutes for a table but it was definitely worth the wait. Very tasty pasta and great ambiance. The staff is very nice and they have an online waiting system so you don’t necessarily have to wait in the line at the restaurant but can walk around the city until there is a table for you Came back the next day to try some more dishes and can still say that this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Oslo!

How could I pass on reviewing this one? Simply put, I couldn't! It has been 1 week or so since we've been there, and I still remember the waiters and the hearty food. Everything was great, from the appetizers to the main course and right through desert, they couldn't miss it either on the big doses or on the flavour. The waiters are amazing, always caring and right there whenever we needed something. They definitely bring the Mediterranean soul to Oslo, and us being Portuguese, felt very much welcomed. Save some space for the desserts! They are biiig and worth it. Oh the only thing they could improve: we heard that it would be a 45min wait for us, and then to another group, and another. And bottom line: all of us were being seated way sooner than that prediction. So don't be worried that you're going to be waiting for a long time, as the prediction isn't so right, and you can always grab some drinks while you're waiting ;)

Real italian pizza with an excellent Italian touch. To get the perfect light texture, they make dough with four different flours, left to rise over 36 hours! I tried margarita with fungi and teally loved it!

Great pizza, pasta and desserts. Really good quality on the food and the restaurant has a nice vibe. Somebody may find the place a bit crowded. But I feel it got the right vibe and with lots of friendly smiles. If we had got our food at the same time, and not just 3 out of 5 meals due to some misunderstanding by the waiter, we would give this restaurant 5 out of 5 stars. But we’ll be back soon for a second try!

One of the better pizzerias I tried outside Italy. We were there at lunch time and it was very busy. There both tourists, locals and Italian speaking guest. Several of the employees also spoke Italian which only added to the good experience. The food quality was very high and although we didn’t explore it the place was also a winebar. Definitely worth a visit

Pizza was great! Had to queue for about 15 minutes but it was worth it. The staff were friendly and the food was really good. I also loved the plates the food came on. The only negative thing was that my friend accidentally ordered a white base pizza and so he asked for some tomato sauce. They said no problem but actually charged us for it… that was wrong in my opinion.

Visited this place around 5 pm today. We got 1 pizza to share. We ordered the Diavola. The base of the pizza was nice. However, the sauce has room for improvement in my opinion. I'd add more salt to the sauce or Parmesan to the pizza. The service was average. I had expected that the staff would come and check on us after the serving the food just to ask if everything is okay, but that didn't happen even once. The place itself is really nice. Nevertheless, not sure if I'll try it again.

The trek form Dallas to Oslo was long and at times grueling (mainly due to the jet lag). As self proclaimed foodies, we decided to try Der Peppern Gror. Let’s just say we chose wisely. We showed up 20 minutes before closing, but they graciously sat us and served us quite possibly the best Indian food outside of India 🇮🇳. Bravo!!

Went here with work the other day, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was full of flavour and very creative. The drinks were also vary good. Only thing dragging it down from 5* to 4* is simply the lack of good service. I really missed being presented some of the foods and drinks. It also felt like some of the waiters didn't really enjoy their work? I'd love to come back here and try one more time. Hopefully the service will be better

Went there to celebrate birthday and without any doubt i can say it was the best experience. Service was what made our dinner the best. There was this guy Anish who served us , really professional . Food and drink were good and affordable. All the waiters sang the birthday song and all they seems really Nice.

Fun, friendly restaurant with friendly service. Would highly recommend eating here for a good indian meal - it is expensive but everything is in Norway and the food was delicious and filling! We had great service and it felt very "family run" which was nice. We both loved the free popcorn too!

Quite a nice Indian Restaurant: lots of flavor, but compared to other Indian restaurants where I often have to take food home since there so much, this place serving sizes are quite small compared to the price. Even tho tho food was very good I kissed getting free papadam as a starter like most other Desi restaurants, instead we got some dry popcorn which none of us ate. I might give this place another shot, but not in the near future.

This is the first Michelin restaurant that I tried. Food is good, but not blow my mind good. But the service and atmosphere is very good. Like the innovative twist to all the traditional dishes. The crispy duck is especially authentic but yet new with the extra incredient to wrap in. We were lucky to get a seat without reservation Friday evening. Out dining time allowance is 1 hr. With the fast service, we were able to finish our dinner with plenty of time to spare. Overall great experience.

The food was delicious. Portions are small. Service was acceptable but not spectacular. Definitely make reservations as it was packed on a Tuesday night. You won't be disappointed with the food other than the quantity.

The meal was memorable, the atmosphere was wonderful with dim light yet bright over our table and pleasing acoustics and the service was very fast with one course flowing to the next as if they had timed us individually. We hope to return!

Very nice Chinese restaurant with Szechuan style cuisine in the heart of Oslo. Very spicy though but I loved it. The service is perfect and the waitress very kind. I absolutely recommend it. Just be careful about the prices which may be quite high for some… especially the wine. Nothing good under 80€…

Absolutely a highly reccomended restaurant. I like the ambiance. Great service. Staffs easy to approached. I ordered a vegan dish and it was a bomb. 😋 My friends enjoyed their foods as well. So all of us came home with a very satisfied tummies..😄 We will definitely come back there.

We had chef menu, which included a very tasty starter, crispy duck that a bit better than the other Asian restaurants in Oslo, a standard main dish and an ok dessert. We got very full. Service was standard, atmosphere was good. The overall impression was great.

The food is amazing. Dim Sum is great, perfect wrapping and interesting sauce. The crispy duck is well known, must try.

The staff and owners are lovely. Each of the owners came by our table to make sure we had a good meal and they were so nice to our daughters. The food was amazing, I'm not sure I've ever had a crust on my pork as good as what they produce on their pork knuckle. The bones pulled put with ease and continued to stay warm and steam the whole meal.

Ate the spareribs. Great taste. Rather small portion size and meat could maybe be a little bit more tender. Also fries were a little bit overalt. Still would recommend going here tho, since they have a rather appealing menu. Also a great selection of beers.

Excellent food and drink in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The pork knuckle - their signature dish - thoroughly deserves its reputation: better even than similar dishes I've had in Bavaria where pork knuckle is renowned. Lusciously tender pork but with skin that's gloriously crispy without becoming burned or dry - absolutely perfect. The drinks menu is wonderfully wide ranging, focusing on beer but covering all kinds of wine as well - and each dish comes with recommended drinks matching, giving options of beer, wine or alcohol free pairings. The service was friendly and attentive and the food came pretty quickly. When we weren't sure which beer to try our lovely server, Pernille, enthusiastically gave us recommendations which matched our tastes beautifully. I really loved it here - it was our first meal in Oslo, and I get the impression we really struck lucky!

This was the best restaurant I visited during my entire trip to Norway for the first time. Even though I’m not a fan of pork knuckle, I decided to try it out after reading the reviews. It turned out to be the best crispy pork knuckle I’ve ever had. Portions are generous and best shared with a group. What was even more amazing was the service. I was seated immediately and had my order taken promptly even though the restaurant was very crowded. Food arrived piping hot in double quick time (even though I was getting used to waiting quite long in other restaurants in Norway). Every single staff was friendly and attentive. Special mention to the front of house lady whom I believe was the lady owner of this family run restaurant. She was so warm and sincere to everyone. I even witnessed her giving recommendations and directions to a couple of customers who had mistakenly wandered in looking for coffee. When they left, she even wished them well and hoped they get to enjoy Oslo. What an amazing ambassador for her country!

Pork specialists they are. Signature pork knuckle(roasted slowly for 5h) was mouthwatering,engaging staff and quick arrival of the dish made service excellent. Besides the outstanding food and service, what also made quite an impression was the cozy,intimate atmosphere spiced up with dimmed lights and wooden elements of the interior. P.S. Even though pulled pork and spare ribs were delicious ,it wouldn't hurt if the portions were sizewise similar to the knuckle 😉

Great place to try local cuisine. They have a slightly expensive 3 courses menu that include whale meat, pork knuckle, and a white chocolate and bacon mousse. While the whale meat was tender but lacking some punch and the mousse was quite good and a bold pairing, the highlight was the pork knuckle. Simply delicious, with a hard, crunchy, exterior and a soft, melt in your mouth, interior. It alone is worth coming here. Staff was extremely friendly. The interior are old school, like a century ago brasserie. They have an extensive beer selection, some wines and a few ciders. Recommended when in Oslo center

Awesome food. The pulled pork with mashed potatoes and bacon was delicious. The pork knuckle had such crispy skin and was great. Such a cozy feeling place with great service, food, and atmosphere.

Fantastic in every way. The food was amazing and served very quickly. One of us had the pork knuckle and the other the pork neck, both were great. The staff were really friendly and helpful and checked on us throughout the meal. I also found it good value for money, you can pay the same price for a "regular" meal in Oslo, and this was special, so to me very worth it. Definitely will come back next time we're in Oslo.
