Went on a day when there was literally no exhibition. As in, nothing, not a single painting in the entire museum. I don't understand. Why wasn't this on the website? Don't know. The views inside are cool. Anyway, truly magnificent building on the outside and it sits perfectly in the landscape of niteroi. Incredibly futuristic and yet close to nature.
The architecture is SPECTACULAR.. an iconic building that deserves the accolades it so richly deserves. Unfortunately upon my visit the exhibition was not ready for viewing which was a shame.. however there were some pieces of modern art on show that were interesting. The views of Rio from inside the building are nothing short of amazing with a 270 degree vista of the bay and surrounding areas. Well worth the visit..
Small museum worth the trip for the architecture, but not the art. Not much display space, and what was on view was second tier modern art (and I like modern art!). I found the architecture much more engaging than the pieces within.
Have to pay, not much but considering there's not much to see inside and you have to check your bag into a small locker it's a tad annoying. The outside is absolutely incredible. Get a chance to cross the bridge and see a little different angle of Rio. Couple this with the beach and view points to make a half day out of this area.
One of the most stunning architectural places I’ve ever seen. The backdrop of the Rio de Janeiro beach and mountains is unbelievable. The actual museum is small, with only two exhibitions, but it was thoughtfully curated. The bistro on the bottom floor was an absolute must—and included a beautiful view. It was one of the best restaurant food I’ve had during my stay, as well. Go to this place. It’s incredible.
Architecture and structure design are awesome. Very limited art exposition. The Engineer who calculated this structure and other projects of architect Oscar Niemeyer in Brazil and abroad was Prof. Bruno Contarini
The magnificent Oscar Neumere building, built in 1996. Entrance to the museum is paid, the bag must be put in the locker, there is a toilet and water fountain. The exhibition is small. If you go down the stairs, there you will find a restaurant.
Futuristic UFO designed building by famed architect situated along the coastline in Rio. It's hard to get too if you're a tourist who doesn't know the area but worth the trip.
Did not have the time to enter but I know it was cheap and reasonable as a fee (I think 20 reals). There was around 8 paintings available outside for free. You can take pictures from the beach, where you enter and underneath it (see pics). Lovely neighborhood and I felt safe! Spend some time at the beach. The cave below is only 3 - 5 meters. Not too fancy!

The Museum is now open and vacine cards must be presented. Do not speed over the speed bumps but do go to the natural showers.

This park is amazing. Great vibe and constant contact with nature and with Rio de Janeiro's history. Even kind of abandoned by the authorities, it remains beautiful. A perfect timing to enjoy with family and friends. Hope you like it as I did.

The Fortress of Santa Cruz da Barra is located on a rocky point at the entrance to Guanabara Bay, and offers guided tours of its impressive structure as well as a scenic view of Sugarloaf Mountain. It was historically very important in the defense of the city and bay, and was intervened during the French and Dutch invasions. Throughout its structure, visitors will be able to observe rows of canyons that lead to the bay entrance.

Amazing place! Highly recommended!
10 reals to enter! It includes a guide. I had a Portuguese guide so I didn't understand much! It felt long! You can take pictures everywhere. You can't touch or stand in certain places which felt annoying at times. Not spectacular but decent! They can improve on lots of things!
Gorgeous view, good story.
Beautiful spot to contemplate nature and feel the wind! There is also a military fortress and a coffee shop there. No need to pay the entry unless you are visiting the fortress.

Beautiful view of Rio and the Guanabara bay, the place has lots of potential which is being wasted by the poor management taking care of the location. Have made two attempts to visit the place and both times end up in frustration as the place was just closed. No website or social media giving accurate and updated information on basic things such as opening hours, the information available online is not trustable as Google and their website do not have updated information. Nobody seems to care about it and as a results it’s facilities such as toilet are all in terrible condition. Both Navy and local governments needs to pay urgent attention to this place as this true waste due to terrible management!

Beautiful urban park with enourmous tropical trees and peaciful ponds. A real oasis in the heart of Niteroi's Icarai nrighbourhood. Great place yo ho with your kids and on weeekends when an fantastic arts snd crafts market is held from early morning to mid afternoon.

It's a cozy area with beautiful trees, some animals, a pleasant lake and an area with some rides and a playground for the kids. In the weekends there is a fair from the morning up to be beginning of the afternoon. Sometimes there are events in the park like a food truck festival.
Lovely park for the kids to spend some time in. It is a relaxing area inside the city and the children love to run around and be free. The water fountain is impressive and is well worth a visit. The kids play area is lively and clean. There are a lot of kiosks to buy some snacks and drinks from. The park is free to enter and there are discrete security personnel around

Great portuguese food with a Brazilian influence. Huge portions and a very cozy informal mood. Perfect for weekend family lunch. Arriving early is a must because of the waiting time to sit.
One of the best restaurants in town. Food is absolutely brilliant and the portions are big. Be prepared to a long wait for a table tough.

Very busy, with long waiting times for a table (more than two hours), it was Saturday lunch time. In the end, we just asked for appetizers and ate outside. The food was still good and it was well worth the visit.

Great Portuguese food in Niteroi! It was hard to order from the menu as there was so many tempting dishes to choose from! We ended up having some Bolinhos de Bacalhau, Polvo na Brassa, Bacalhau com Natas, and Caldeirada de Frutos do Mar which were all excellent. It is also worth mentioning the lovely atmosphere and kind service we received from the waiters who tended our table. Overall, Gruta de Santo Antonio is a wonderful restaurant to visit when you're in the area.
Expensive but not special. I am not a great fan of bacalhau - salted cod Norwegian style, which was popularized in Brazil by the Portuguese. People that like it may find the restaurant great, but I was mostly indifferent to the different styles of bacalhau we ordered - even the bolinho, a snack sized fried ball of bacalhau and potatoes, was nothing special. Not bad, but I am not returning.
Very good. The environment is like your dining at a house with lots of tables. Food is very good, with very generous amounts. But it's quite expensive. Not somewhere to go everyday. Better phone in advance to check if there's available places. Free wi-fi. Ask for the password at the counter. Terrible place to park, but there's a parking lot just passed the restaurant, on the right hand side. I'm not sure if the parking lot is opened on weekends, but it must be.

There's plenty of seating, although some may find it difficult to get a reservation during busy times. Parking can be accessed for free nearby or payment can be made with validated parking tickets.

The buffet was better than good but less than great. The service however deserves a 10/10. The staff are friendly and they have a few people who can speak English which is good for tourists. I ordered the buffet option and it cost R 70, for this you may eat as meat barbeque as possible as well as a lot of vegetarian and salad options including seafood and sushi.
This is the best restaurant we have eaten at on our stay. The service and staff are second to none. If you can make a trip here you will not be disappointed.
Great Rodizio .meat all you can eat different types of meat, Sushi and more. Unlike most Rodízios here you don't need to get up and go to the buffet bar to get your salad, vegetables beans cheese etc , you just ask for anything and they will bring it to the table. You loose few options but better service to the table. I Recomended. Price was fair. About 90 RS saturday night per person plus drinks and gratuity.
I always visit when I'm in niteroi, a great Churrascaria, wide selection of meats, well cooked and great service. Highly recommended

I was looking forward to a typical brazilian food experience after living out of the Country for so long. Someone referred us this restaurant and it was very disappointing. I have been trying different places since I arrived in Rio and Niteroi and have been very happy until my mother and I tried Familia Paludo. The service was cordial but the food was below expectation. I don't like to put bad reviews, because we are all here trying to make a honest living. Brazil has amazing food and Familia Paludo needs to work hard to catch up.

Always a pleasure to have lunch at Outback throughout all the restaurants around Rio !! Wonderful service with a wide selection of tasteful dishes !!
I really like outback steakhouse, however, most recent visit the staff were incredibly grumpy and almost rude. For the price the service needs to be better
The WORST experience ever! The food is pre-cooked and then heated in side the microwave. Awful food, their steaks are extremely small in sizes. Disgusting attitude and bad service. Stay
It's the kind of place that is way too expensive for what they actually deliver. Food is over seasoned so you don't actually get to enjoy the taste of whatever you order. People usually like hanging out in here because of the refill policy, which is unusual in Brazil, so if you expect to stay a couple of hours chatting and drinking sodas/iced teas and eventually ordering an appetizer it might be worthy. Otherwise if you expect to eat great food, there are plenty of better options for your money.
We just loved the renovation, much lighter than before, feels more welcoming. Awesome Aussie fries, ribs cooked to perfection (juice and flavorful) and we also enjoyed the "fake" tattoo for kids. The iced tea still superb ! Hey, don't forget the chocolate "thunder" ice cream.
