😱 what a beautiful mansion. I did the self guided audio tour along. It was very informational and interesting. It took me about 2 hours to do the tour. I got $2 discount for being a AAA member. All staffs were courteous. They don’t allow selfie sticks inside breakers. There is a big parking lot for visitors. You can park there and enjoy both breakers and cliff walk.

This mansion is Amazing! I didn’t know such property exist in the U.S. large massive floor plan. All interior design was influenced by France and Italy. I enjoyed walking around with the self guided tour from the App. I love the terrace balcony on the 2nd Level which has amazing ocean view. I am glad this building was maintained so well for the new generation to visit. We booked Hunter House Tour in advance so they offer us free upgrade to trio visit ticket.

What an experience! It's amazing to see how much craftsmanship and skilled labor went into making this massive mansion. The grounds surrounding it are also very beautiful but unfortunately it was raining and windy when we went.

Amazing…. Of course! Self-guided/paced tour was nice. (I didn’t happen to have earbuds, so had to resort to reading the transcript, but glad the app had that!). Would give 5 stars if it wasn’t quite so pricey…. Probably better to buy those combo tickets others have mentioned, but we didn’t plan on seeing more than one of these mansions…. We did a weekday in June, and it was moderately busy but not overly crowded and a very nice experience… I’ve visited at least a few mansions, and this really is a well-maintained example of opulence. (Like gold-leaf on huge wall areas applied by hand, such that it looks like leather? Yikes…. I’m still trying to understand why “more” = “better”, but anyway…. It truly is amazing.). My favorite room wasn’t even a room at all, it was the covered porch/veranda… with that ocean view…. Crazy stunning!

Amazing place to explore, and the audio tour app is really easy to follow. Make sure to take some headphones so you aren’t that person listening to the tour out loud! The building itself is intriguing and the level of detail in the architecture is something to behold. It’s a modern copy of authentic European designs, but because of this it’s done in a crisper fashion - most notably gas/ electrics and heating are built into the house - where usually this was retrofitted and ruins the feel of the place!

Highly recommended! I visited the Breakers Mansion in Newport, RI a few months ago and it was absolutely breathtaking! I’ve toured many mansions before, but this is now my favorite place! The setting on the Atlantic Ocean is so beautiful and peaceful! I did the self guided tour and I very much enjoyed it! There was no rush and I could walk around at my own pace! I loved hearing about the history of the mansion and the Vanderbilt family! I also wandered around the gardens for an hour or two. Just breathtaking! I found delightful souvenirs in the gift shop and I finished up with lunch at the darling little cafe. It was a fun half day touring this lovely historic home! Newport is one of my favorite places to visit and I can’t wait to go back to visit this beautiful home and town!

This is such an iconic symbol of the guilded age. Its pure opulence. Such a beautiful home!! The tours are well done but for those who dont want to listen to audio also have a written synopsis. Good child's scavenger hunt, beautiful great lawn. The ticketing here is busy so might be better purchased at Marble House or The Elms. A good stop for early in the day.

This place is gorgeous! I usually came her during summer but definitely recommend everyone to be here around the Christmas too. Their Christmas decorations are amazing!

Very nice place to visit. I can't even imagine spending $50 million dollars to build a house that big back in the day. The lady there told me it's worth over $350 million now or more it no one really knows. They have a self guide tour with an app that you can listen to. Staff are nice and they have staff at pretty much in every room so you can ask questions. Worth the ticket price.

A really gorgeous place that’s quick to tour without the audio guide. I walked through in about an hour and really took my time to look at everything. The ceilings are gorgeous and you can see the historical impressions in the walls and columns. The view outside is gorgeous especially at the upper level of the house. There’s this huge level that overlooks the water and it is gorgeous. Sadly, it’s blocked off by red rope. I understand the safety reasons for it since it’s a huge open wall to the water, but it was disappointing how far back the rope was. Otherwise, I got a good video of everything. At the end there’s a little gift and souvenirs shop that’s a bit on the pricey side, but ofc it goes into maintaining this great community space. So it’s worth a little something to take home.

It was a rainy day in fall! Still the drive was beautiful. So many amazing and historic mansions and beautiful beach houses! We thoroughly enjoyed our drive. Pretty relaxing!

Absolutely picturesque! A great place to rent bikes or scooters. 5 miles each way. The scenery is incredible! Also love all the kites at the park.

One of the coolest drives I've got to experience. Coastline is absolutely beautiful and surreal experience. Definitely not something you typically see on the East Coast.

The Elms is an absolutely stunning property. The open concept guides you from room to room. Make sure you walk through the entire property. The gardens in the back is a serene place that will leave you wondering in peace. My recommendation is to purchase an annual membership. There are different levels that you can choose from to fit your family situation. This will not only save you money, but it is also a tax-deductible gift. Also, purchase your tickets/membership online. It is easy and will save you time when you first arrive.

The Elms mansion was our second choice after we visited the Breakers. We visited The Elms on Saturday. It’s beautiful and have lot of sculptures and paintings They have free parking. Buy package which gives entry to two or three historic houses is a better deal I recommend taking this rather than going with individual mansions.

What a beautiful “cottage” as they call them. So wonderful it wasn’t torn down and we’re able to step into history. We used the newport mansion app for this tour as well and again it was very enlightening. We had a great time touring the home and strolling the grounds.

Amazing experience. Has one of the few remaining lacquer rooms in existence. I loved the marble and paintings. The self-guided audio tour is brilliant and the renovations they have done to persevere the original furnishings and buy back lost items is astounding. The preservation society has been very successfully at returning this "cottage" to its gilded age glory. Make sure you plan to view the gardens after you see the house. The trees are kinda magical.

Nice mansion. Julius Berwind from Philadelphia had the mansion built. He was a coal Barron. They would spend about $350,000 in the late 1800s, entertaining during each season. The season lasted about 8 weeks for during the summer. That equates to about $12Million in today's money. They must have had a raring good time. The preservation society keep up the mansions very well.

This is my new favorite mansion in Newport. Love the vibe. Staff is super helpful and polite. Booked our tickets online. Tip: book package deals where you get to visit multiple Newport mansions at a lower rate. And also don’t forget to download Newport mansions app on your phone to listen to tour guide as you go about it.

This mansion was spectacular. Get the Newport Mansion Mobile App to get the full explanation of everything. The paper handout does not provide enough info. The mansion seemed like a place I could live compared to Marble House and The Breakers. The gardens were equally beautiful.

Beautiful! This was definitely our favorite mansion. So classy and we also really enjoyed the free tour on the app. The interior was magnificent, and we loved walking the grounds afterwards as well.

The Marble house is very ornate and beautiful. The staff wasn’t overly friendly. They are all kinda of quiet. They definitely watch you and make sure you’re not touching anything. You’re allowed photos but with no flash photography. The nicest woman was in the gift shop. I enjoyed the self guided tour you can listen to make sure you have ear buds or headphones.

Much smaller than the Breakers but the enormous amount of marble used in this house makes it look very lavish and is worth a visit. Not too crowded when we came on a weekend morning. Do take note that Marble House is not accessible from the Cliff Walk itself, so you either have to come by car or Trolley bus 67 (stop is right outside, comes every 15 minutes).

Another beautiful estate. Right on par with The Elms. The gothic room was awesome. The fireplace was superb. Its just like a castle out of Europe. Tea house was also lovely. Docents very helpful with information.

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful ❣. Bought tickets to view two mansions but had time for one only. The nice thing is hang on to your ticket, there good for ever. Enjoyed this visit with cousin Sue out visiting from TN. We had a lovely time at lunch nearby also. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Marble house is very pretty. I believe it is one of the 2nd largest historic houses. We got to tour the main rooms. Backyard view is gorgeous overlooking the water & there is a tea house you can visit that has some snacks & beverages. My 10yo was amazed at how big/fancy the house is & said it is the biggest house she's ever been in her whole life.

Full of history beautiful Mansion! It was built by marbles inside out. I enjoyed walking around and listen the audio guide from the App that I downloaded to my phone. The Vanderbilt family actually spent their summer time here in the past. The Breakers and The Elms are more likely as a party house to entertain guests. We booked the Hunter House Guided Tour so they upgrade our entrance ticket to be trio ticket for free.

Definitely not as interesting as The Breakers but the marble facade is impressive. The interior is ok but a little musty. Definitely worth a visit but I probably should have viewed The Elms instead. The tea house is disappointing.

Beautiful "cottage". Upon entering you can certainly see why it was considered THE most lavish house in America for a period of time, and why Mrs. Vanderbilt considered herself equal to European royalty. If you're a history or art person, I'd definitely come check out this mansion. I came on the Viking Tour bus and had 75 minutes to tour the mansion. I certainly could have spent more time there due to the huge amount of absolutely stunning architecture and art throughout the building. If you're not too keen on the idea of downloading an app for an audio tour (I wasn't) there are paper copies of the transcript for a self guided tour before entering the dining room. Either listening to or reading the transcript will help bring a lot more life to the tour so that you don't zip through the mansion, as I often see people do at museums.

This Mansion was gorgeous. I definitely recommend this mansion. There was no wait to get in. I got my tickets advanced through a tour I took, Viking Trolly Tour, it was a 4 hour tour which included The Marble House and also The Breakers. I recommend downloading the Newport Mansions app before you arrive, maybe the night before or even the week before. If you know what mansions you're going to you can download the audio tour before you arrive which is far easier then trying to download on cellular data while you're there and waste precious time. The app made the self guided tour so much better, it had so much information and more per room. Each room was between 1-3 minutes of audio and then you could get more information by clicking another button on the screen. This Mansion was well taken care of and there were many staff around the building making sure people weren't touching anything.

Scenic views inside and outside on the beach. Great to know the history of the fort from the world war times. Hoped to see more details of the life during the war time in this place. The self guided tour with smartphone app was super convenient. Can be covered with quick walk around the fort grounds inside and the scenic beach view from the top of the fort.

My husband & I chose to do the self guided tour for a price of $10 per person. The fort itself is interesting to explore! My only complaints are that the fort isn’t in the best condition so you aren’t able to enter most of the structure itself. I fully understand that the fort is older so it is aging, but it would have been nice to be able to see the inside of the structures from beyond the gated entry ways. The climb to the top of the fort had the best view!

Went to Fort Adams for the annual Newport Jazz festival. Great experience and venue. The event itself was rather spacious and Fort Adams had a great view of the water, Newport bridge, and boats. Easy drive down but traffic due to the festival. Ocean drive is a great route for more of a scenic journey. As a Verizon user I didn’t have great service. I could call, kind of text but not roam on socials much.

This is a good park to go to while visiting Newport Rhode Island. There are plenty of parking lots throughout the park to walk on the scenic harbor and take in the view. In summer must have fresh lemonade also available restrooms

This site offers many beautiful views. I came here with my family during their Boots on the Ground Memorial Day Tribute. It was a very touching display of fallen heroes. It truly brought meaning of the Memorial Day to my whole family (not another backyard barbecue and a day off work). Thank you for organizing this great memorial! And thank you all servicemen/women for keeping our families safe.

A beautiful park that we discovered while biking around Newport. Free admission, a great welcome center (perfect for thirsty bikers), and amazing views of the water and boats.

With more money invested, this facility could be so so much more! As it is now, the staff giving tours were all professional and knowledgeable about the fort and its history! The "listening tunnels" were another cool adventure here and a significant part of the fort's history - that one can only hear on the guided tours. I hope the fort is successful in finding ways to raise funding for future plans. It really is a treasure trove of history for Newport and New England.

Fort Adams blew my mind! GO HERE NOW! Take the guided tour and if you are as lucky as we were, you'll get Mike! Aside from the jaw dropping everything that is the Fort, our tour guide knew so much history! So much details! The humanity, the why, the where, when, who, what, how! List goes on. Thank you Mike, you truly made my first visit something amazing! I did not know this place existed up until a few day's prior to visiting R.I. Now, don't get me wrong, there are forts all up and down the East coast in this area but you will not find anyone comparable to Fort Adams. The Fort Adams Trust is doing amazing things to preserve this extremely iconic, necessary piece of America's history! I urge you, go see this Fort! Let it blow your mind too and help preserve it! I will go back and I want to be able to do it again! It was built for us now let's keep'er alive!

If I could give 10 Stars I would! While on vacation, we happened upon Fort Adams. It was the Tuesday before Memorial Day. We thought, "Let's just check this place out. We have nothing to do." I am ashamed now that I thought that. Every staff member was friendly, personable and helpful. The audio tour, although not fancy schmancy and professionally done, was clear and informative. The fort itself was amazing, but little did we know we would see them preparing for a Boots On The Ground ceremony. Watching the volunteers set up the boys and flags brought tears to my eyes. Thank you to all who have served our country, and thank you to those who were preparing to celebrate and remember them.

I was pleasantly surprise at how well maintain and how pretty is this fort, not to mention the amazing harbor view. Incredible place to enjoy for few hours.

Newport Jazz-- Just a gorgeous place! Views are unmatched especially at Sunset. So much going on with the festival yet somehow the beauty and tranquility of this space remained. Definitely a return spot!

Great tour of our country’s early defense system that was used until early 1960s. It was so brilliantly designed that no enemy ever tried to attack.

I heard great things of this restaurant and I was very excited before visiting. However, the oysters were quite small than expected and the service was a bit slow. However, the seafood was really high quality and every seafood in each dishes was enlightening. The clam chowder was also nice, but my favorite is probably the lobster roll, as its quality was very good. Would recommend!

Such an amazing place to eat. It's loud but in a good vibe way and such a great atmosphere. Food was phenomenal. Service was great, our waitress Emily was fantastic. We both had clams on the half shell and I FINALLY found my cherry stone clams to enjoy. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had the seafood pasta (OMG....WOW). Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area, you won't regret it....

MUST HIT IN NEWPORT!!! Great staff and great food - the perfect combination!! Had the clam chowder, oysters, and lobster claws. All was excellent. Great drink selection. Went back for dinner and had the lobster roll (insanely good - soft bread, tons of lobster), bag of donuts (lobster fritters - uh yeah!!), and New York cheesecake. All perfect with great service. Note - plenty of parking but it is a pay lot and you have a $9 minimum charge. That is the only negative.

Wow. Do not skip this restaurant if you are in Newport. We went here a week before Memorial day weekend , It was so busy for a Wednesday night but the service was still great. Food was amazing! Crispy calamari for apps, then I had the sole and it was such a delight. The outside was cooked crispy and inside was flakey and perfectly cooked, tasted very fresh, well seasoned, topped with capers , and the cauliflower vegetable medley with the puree was so flavorful. All the flavors worked perfectly together. The pasta was so delicious as well , shrimp and scallops were fresh, had perfect crust and the spicy tomato sauce had a nice kick to it. Price was very decent with what great service, quality of food and serving you get.

Absolutely delicious seafood dinner! Exactly what I was looking for. The service was a little odd- definitely focused on their other tables around me, perhaps because I was alone? but I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever raw oyster (very flexible ordering menu), first ever whole lobster, and a decadent chocolate cake. The prices seemed reasonable for the fantastic quality of the food and setting up a reservation was easy.

Came here for lunch and was very impressed. Food was delicious and service top notch. Apps: - Oysters, ordered a dozen and tried 3 different types sourced locally. Fresh and good. Comes with lemon, cocktail sauce w/horseradish, and vinegar - Fried Calamari, the highlight of the meal. Cooked perfectly and very tender. Peppers were a bit spicy but addicting - Caesar, traditional Entrees: - Lobster Roll, the quality of lobster is very good. Sweet and flavorful. Worth getting if you like lobster rolls

Very good seafood. There’s a water view (marina) out the back. Loud and very busy (we went on a weekday night). Service was good. We had the lobster/shrimp fritters (fritters were good but sauce was not) and the clam chowder (quite good but not the best in Newport) and the scallop chowder (my boyfriend liked this a lot). For entrees we ordered the seafood pasta and the scallops. Both were excellent. My boyfriend also ordered the oysters and we believe it was the oysters that caused him to be very sick the entire day following (order the oysters with caution).

This place stays jamming for a reason. Had no reservation but got seats at the bar for dinner which was perfect. The bartender was great and kept us entertained. As always expected the food was very good. The bed of couscous beneath the lamb chops was the surprising star of the show! So much flavor.

8/30/23 Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Parking Stress Level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My friends had the seafood platter for two $72 they thought it was excellent . I tried a bit : it was excellent . Three of us thought our food were good . Dessert was great except the caramel but that come on top of it , very hard to chew . Parking was about $9 an hour I think . We were there for 21/2 hours . Place can get noisy. On a busy day and time get there half an hour early to find parking. We parked in front of the restaurant there were about four parking spaces available at 1pm. They DONT VALIDATE parking tickets .

We went for dinner and had a patio table. Th place was busy. Our waitress Christine was very friendly. We didn’t care for the Crudo appetizer, it was removed from our table and bill. I noticed that the table was not cleared for awhile after we ate and even then, it was not completely cleared before dessert was served. Overall, the food was ok. The baked ginger and lemongrass lobster for 2 was rich in flavor, had some sweetness to it, definitely not your typical lobster. I enjoyed it. The asparagus as well as the bread served with the mussels appetizer tasted burned- not charred but burnt which I did not enjoy the taste nor smell. The cheesecake was delicious.

Walked down Brick Market & came across this restaurant. The atmosphere was fun - there is so much to look at! I had a cup of lobster bisque, ahi tuna salad, my SO a Caesar salad & daughter the grilled cheese. Nothing super extravagant but the food was good! I HIGHLY recommend the watermelon lemonade. It's FANTASTIC! Our server Melanie was excellent. We stopped by to eat a half hour after they opened & was seating right away. By the time we left, it started to get pretty busy. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but well worth the visit if you're in the area.

I came here for dinner my very first night in Newport. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess that seated me was very bubbly and welcoming. My server, who I believe her name was Amy, was friendly and attentive. I ordered the lobster bisque, salmon entree, and chocolate molten cake from the decent sized menu. Everything was great, but I wish they would have given just a little more garlic mashed potatoes for the side dish that comes with the salmon entree. Otherwise, the lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful, and the chocolate cake was very rich. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very clean. If you get a chance to use the restroom, the area upstairs is quite cool to check out. Overall, I was pretty pleased with my experience dining here, and I will surely come here again the next time I visit the area.

Brick Alley is more than a restaurant, it’s an experience. As a native I appreciate all of the Newport nostalgia. There’s nothing else like it. The wall art and vintage items are amazing. Food was exceptional. Staff so friendly and attentive.

The place was packed on a Saturday evening at 7:30 with a 1 1/2 hour wait, but we managed to snag 2 seats at the bar right away. Had a good spicy margarita and a glass of wine, and then started with a most delicious apple/brie bruschetta that had bacon and garlic. I had fish & chips which were really good - the fish (cod) fortunately did not have that typical heavy batter on them, but just a light crust. The fries, which were bigger than usual but not quite steak fries, were perfectly cooked. We also had a bacon burger which was also cooked to perfection and delicious. We got the brownie sundae for dessert and it was plenty for 2 people, and we couldn't even finish it. Highly recommend this place.

I drove a senior adult group, on a Motorcoach from Cleveland TN to Newport. Everyone wanted to experience good Clam Chowder & a Lobster Roll. The amazing Clam Chowder & the delicious Lobster Roll did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service from Jordan was excellent. She was very polite, professional & just a Sweetheart. Highly recommend Brick Alley Pub!

Great food and service. You can add the soup & salad bar for an up charge- totally worth it. Large dining area so even when it packs up wait times are not long. Staff work extremely hard and their restrooms are super clean!

Great place with great food and service. We walked to the restaurant from Thames. Took about 15 minutes. I had the fish sandwich with the best sweet potato fries I have ever had at a restaurant. Thick and delicious. I actually chose this restaurant because I wanted some sweet potato fries instead of French fries. Im trying to be healthier. They really hit the spot. My husband had the fish with french fries. His was good too. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

Excellent place, and area to visit along the water. Great food, and service. Highly recommend stopping here for food. The fried mozzarella was the best I've ever had. The burger was really good. My friends also loved their nachos and burgers. Will definitely visit again if I'm ever around the area!

Our waitress Maddie was friendly and efficient! food was delicious. I had the fish tacos and expected two small tacos but they were huge! They were so good! We enjoyed our lunch and will definitely return.

Place was very busy and had a wait. Pretty expected for a Saturday evening in the summer. Service was great, food was absolutely delicious and the prices were fair. The mussels special was awesome. We practically drank the broth once we finished the musslest. My Huntsman Burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. It was cooked a perfect medium and the blue cheese was delicious. My wife got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and we were both impressed with how much lobster was in it. Very very tasty. If you're in Newport and need a delicious meal in a cool, casual place, make sure you stop at Brick Alley Pub.

6/23 Brick Alley Pub in Newport, RI. We had an outstanding meal here for lunch today. Our server was Elyse, and can’t say enough about her skills and wit. Rarely meet people looking out for their customers as she did. Service was a 10 out of 5. At the table Point Judith style calamari, few bowls of delicious clam chowder, fish ( cod) sandwich and ahi tuna sliders on wonton crackers. Excellent and shared by all of us. Drinks were good also. Recommend you need to go and partake in a tasty meal in a fun atmosphere.

Had a very good meal here during a first visit. Did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table. This was during a weekday at 7pm off season, so keep that in mind. The place definitely seems to be a favorite in the area. Food was tasty and pricing seemed on par with other establishments. Service was quite slow, however. Our waitress was friendly, but we spent about an hour and a half here between waiting for drinks, waiting for food, eating, and waiting for the check. Overall, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Spent my evening dining at The Red Parrot in Newport. Though I didn’t make a reservation the host had no problem seating me. I first ordered a strawberry daiquiri, which was absolutely gorgeous. Made up with whipped cream and a cherry! A little sour, but pretty good strawberry flavor . Then I ordered the lobster bisque soup which was good tasting but no lobster in it and croutons were soggy so i took them out. I then had to wait a bit for the server to come back. It wasn’t busy, she was just missing. I finally got to order and decided on the sunset strip burger. That was actually very good. Cooked perfectly medium, great portions, and came with everything I asked for. Ordered dessert to go and it was all upside down when i got it, but still delicious. Food good, service eh. I’d go again, just would need a different waitress.

Went here last year in July, it was very good. Different martini drinks, different tropical dishes. Now in 2023, changed their menu cut a lot out. Their menu wasn't clear with ordering dishes. I thought it was their shark appetizer good thing I asked because it was swordfish bites, swordfish doesn't end up well with me. Calamari had grease floating in the bottom, my shrimp wasn't explained how it was in menu. Very spicy, rice was sticky. When we got there, walked up to the podium nobody around us, told us to go upstairs to be seated. Got upstairs, they sat 3 tables infront of us while we are standing in front of their podium first meanwhile these people walked up after us. The server kept on forgetting about us, took almost 2.5 hours just for dinner and missed the whole sunset got outside when it's dark out, couldn't get outside because we were waiting for the check then our card. This year it went downhill drastically and we won't be returning. Went to Benjamin's the next day and it was day and night difference. I won't be returning.

Really great experience here. Service was great for the price point and the food was really good, but not great. I tried the oysters, clam chowder, the lobster nachos, and the New York Strip. Oysters were mostly fresh, the clam chowder was good, the NY strip was cooked perfectly, but lacked a bit of seasoning. Had to try the lobster nachos; you will definitely get glorious pieces of lump lobster meat in your nachos. However, I found this dish a bit on the bland too. Really good experience overall at this price point, I definitely recommend you check it out.

Great experience! Excellent food! Was with a party of 5, and all of us enjoyed the food. Sam was a great server too! I had the crab cakes, awesome! Good cocktails too! Prices very reasonable, you're in Newport after all. Totally worth it, stop in for a bite.

We ate here twice, because our first experience was so great. The lobster nachos brought us back for a second dinner. The adult beverage choices are fresh and delicious, and we sampled a variety of entrees and none of them disappointed. Then there was the Ice Cream Nachos as the grand finale. The menu is so extensive, we had trouble narrowing down our orders. Our servers, Hannah and Ryan, were knowledgeable and all smiles. Don’t miss this gem.

The Red Parrot is a great place to grab a bite to eat after a day of shopping around Newport. With a 15-page menu, there’s something for everyone, and the portion sizes are good, so you’ll never leave hungry. It’s a bit pricy, but well worth it. NOTE: The restaurant does not take reservations.

Tried their famous Lobster nachos. Absolute bomb ! As a solo traveler, it was just me and hence I couldn’t finish it. I had just the nachos as my entree. The portions are large(the price as well-$32) but I’m glad I tried it. The workers are kind and lovely. Lovely ambience. Just get a window seat and do some people watching at the Thames street.

The menu is 18 pages long. Lots of delicious options to choose from. The vibe was amazing, the music was great. I actually tried oysters here for the first time. It was so good. We ate upstairs (2 dining floors). The clam chowder was excellent and so was the calamari. There are multiple ways to have the calamari done. I enjoyed the spicy tossed calamari.

Had the Bacon Egg and Cheeseburger, it was cooked perfectly. She had the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla, thought it was a bit in the dry side. Excellent service from the hostess to our waiter. Had a beer and she had a Pina Colada which she said it was very good. Took one star off because it was uncomfortably hot inside even with all the windows open. Would definitely recommend and would also visit again.

Service was a bit slow because the restaurant was packed, but our waiter was very friendly. The lobster nachos were delicious. The mussel soup amazing. The cocktails were yummy. would skip the lobster burger honestly.

Definitely I'll give a 5 star. The service was very fast. The food was amazing, best place to eat sea food. The clams, oysters and mussels were amaaaazing. We had almost all the cocktails and they were great as well.

Nice lunch out. We chose to sit indoors (staying out of the sun), though the outside seating looked nice. Ambiance was cool with seafaring images throughout. Bloody Mary and a Dark& Stormy drinks were quick to arrive at our table and tasted great. I WISH that I took a pic of the swordfish sandwich!!! It was the best, excellently cooked swordfish that I had in a long time. I am always disappointed because restaurants usually overcook swordfish and dry it out. The Black Pearl’s chef did a superb job with the swordfish. Hubby had the lobster roll, which he enjoyed and it was a descent size for the price. Enjoy!

Where did the Black Pearl with the best chowder in Newport go to? Came here years ago and with all the choices in the area decided to eat here again. What a disappointment this time around. While the staff does a very good job it does not make up for the food quality. Came for lunch with the wife. Sat in the main dining room which has a nice ambiance. The dining room was about half full off patrons and appeared clean, well organized and tables had plenty of room. Out waitress was attentive and engaging. I ordered a bowl of chowder which was surprisingly very runny and not all that hot. Not sure if it came from the big pot I noticed in the waitress station but would not be surprised. She ordered clams casino which came out small and overcooked ($18 or $3 each). We split a burger and fries. Burger had a good flavor but was slightly overcooked. The plate must have been sitting in the back as the fries were lukewarm and limp. The former mystique is gone. I'll be trying someplace else in the future.

We chose to sit at the bar and received a warm welcome from our bartender Abraham. He was on top of things, with great recommendations and suggestions. We started with cocktails and beer… a nice Samuel Adams October fest and the ladies chose “the Daily Ration”-Martin Miller Gin, fresh lime, soda w/blackberries. I next tried the local Pale Ale “Whalers”… very nice. The food was great… Native oysters, Cajun Swordfish sandwich and their “self proclaimed” awesome burger (served on an onion roll). So stroll on down to Bannister’s Wharf and drop in to the bar… you can’t go wrong. 😎👍

Had lunch here. Nice place. Staff was very friendly. The clams casino were pretty tasty. Mussels were good too. The toasted bread was great. Good soup. Didn’t like the salad. Just two halves of lettuce. Half of a lobster was very tasty. Recommended.

Food was good , just small overpriced plates but it is what it is after all since it's near the water and given your in Newport. I recommend regular white or wheat bread for a kids grilled cheese. Kids don't care for fancy breads. My roasted chicken Statler was great, just small. Spouse's cheese burger was good . I didn't like the plastic cups , prefer glass. But overall, I would try again.

Highly impressed with this place. Even while they were very busy, they managed to get a table for us under 15 minutes. The clam chowder was exceptional but slightly overpriced compared to the surrounding restaurants. Ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was the best corn beef sandwich I've ever had to this date. Also, not even ten minutes after the chowder came out, our food was served to us. Superb experience to say the least. Edit: After reading some of the reviews left by others of this place, I am absolutely apauled. A common complaint being "the seafood is too salty." Maybe you shouldn't be eating at a seafood restaurant then lol.

This was everything I expected it to be. I loved the atmosphere, upscale Tavern/bar. I was able to walk in without reservation and was seated quickly. My server Stephen G. was prompt and knowledgeable 5star!!!. I ordered the Orange Cadillac Margarita(not a weak drink), the Lobster Thermidor (wonderful flavors but about $10 over priced), the Artisan breadboard(a bit hard but edible with the oil/balsamic blend or the cream from the Lobster Thermidor) I made a mistake ordering it but just went with it, and the Key lime pie(edible but not worth $9, I make mine homemade so to me this was worse than a store bought, no keylime tartness). Overall the food was good and the experience was pleasant.

Had lunch here. When we first ordered the clam chowder, we were told a new batch was being made and it would be 20 minutes. No problem, we enjoyed a beer and cocktail while waiting. The soup was flavorful but too thin for my liking. Decent amount of clams and very little potato. I wonder if it was supposed to be thin consistency or the adding of cream or milk was rushed.

Perfect food. The restaurant is relaxing. Food was also well prepared. Drinks where fine. The only thing is that they are very quick in bringing the bill. The food was finished but still drinks on the table and the bill was there straight away. But again I had a good time. Thanks Black pearl!

The food was ok . We ordered simple : salads with sides of salmon and shrimps. The location outside made it memorable . Beautiful patio , good for people watching . Service was good except at the end when the cheque arrived before we had a chance to order another drink . And the drinks presentation was disappointing: Glass of wine in a plastic cup ?! Draft beer in the same !? Anyways we are on vacation so it's our only time to eat and drink here so I decided to write a review .

The location and inside decor is beautiful. Unfortunately, the food was a little bit of a let down, especially knowing it is part of the Newport Restaurant Group. Both my boyfriend and I found the salmon and chicken entree to be unappetizing. The waitress was very attentive and was nice enough to rectify the food situation. Might be willing to give it another chance in the future.

If you are in Newport, you absolutely need to visit this restaurant. Their food is phenomenal. We’ve tried lobster roll, surf and turf burger, grilled octopus and grilled salmon on kid’s menu. Ingredients were so fresh and they were prepared beautifully. Please make reservation several days ahead.

I had the opportunity to dine at 22 Bowen's on Easter Sunday, April 17 2022. I made reservations, of course, and the place was full. Michael was our waiter. It was nice to have an experienced waiter. He said that he had been a waiter for more than 15 years and you could tell. He was very attentive, knew the menu and had good suggestions. He knew how to interact with the diners. My dinner partner really liked him. I am not much of a seafood eater but I decided to have the 22B Clam Chowder. It was actually fantastic. In addition to potatoes and clams, it had bacon to add a special flavor to its creamy texture. We paired dinner with a bottle of Malbec, Domaine Bousquet from Argentina and an Espresso Martini. Very nice and it went with the appetizer and the main courses, as well crab salad, oysters on-the-half shell and shrimp that we were given because of a delay in our main courses. We got our beef on with a 14oz Prime New York Sirloin and a 18oz Prime bone-in Delmonico steak. Cooked to perfection as far as I was concerned, maintaining tenderness and not dry. Our sides were French fries and RI Mushroom Fricassee. Both were very complimentary with the steak. What a meal. After a fine meal, dessert was Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte. One can never go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter with a scoop of ice cream on the side. The atmosphere was great with water views that I had requested. Service was five-star in my book, thanks to Michael, and the food was four to four and one-half stars. This was not inexpensive BUT well worth it. I would not hesitate to eat there again or to recommend 22 Bowen, especially for a romantic dinner with a nice walk afterward because of the location.

Probably the best restaurant in Newport. The food was spectacular and the drinks were made on point. If you don't mind spending a little more for great quality then 22 Bowen's is for you. The staff is great and knowledgeable. It made our intimate birthday celebration that much better.

I wanted to have a little something to eat and drink at the outdoor bar. The bar was pretty full, but no one was eating. The bartender did only give me a drink menu. So j assumed that it was drinks only until I was almost done, and a few gentlemen sat down, and he asked them if they wanted a food menu. So I am a little disappointed, but otherwise the service was good, the drink is good and it is a beautiful place.

Excellent dinner, the roasted root vegetable appetizer was amazing, I could eat it everyday. The ribeye was amazing melt in your mouth, absolutely perfect cook. Our waiter AL was the best

Wife and I had lunch here while visiting Newport. Sat outside, nice environment. Service was on point. Had the salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly, nice char on the skin. Tasted fantastic! My wife got the fish and chips. That, too, had great flavor. I’d come back here if back in the area.

Fabulous cappuccino to start ~ tried the wagyu carpaccio, the tuna sashimi & Oscar filet with the lobster truffle max and cheese~ everything was absolutely phenomenal. A long time favorite for a beautiful meal!

Probably the best meal I had in Newport. The star of the show was the oysters, king crab and surprisingly the steak! The sandwich was good with the pickles, if you don't like pickles you'd probably need a bit more dressing.

Absolutely everything you order here is amazing. Kudos to the chef! WY better than anything in Newport, just those 4 beautiful host ladies at the front need to learn some manners... other than that, perfect!!! Way better than Mooring restaurant
