My husband and I booked the 2 hour tour, and we absolutely loved it . The two volunteer guides, Rachel and Pete ( I hope I remembered the names right ), were fantastic and so knowledgeable. Rachel did the first hour telling us all about how it was used as an air raid shelter in the second world war and then Pete took over for the second hour, informing us of how the tunnel was first built to transport coal and they both had such interesting stories from both periods. At a cost of just £12 per adult, this is a great way to spend a couple of hours. I highly recommend this tour .

Our family just did the Victoria tunnel tour and it was fantastic. Our tour guides were Mal and Pete and they were the absolute best. It was extremely informative, fascinating, and a lot of fun. It was a very interactive and interesting experience and not too hard to walk along. We had an 8 and 10 year old with us and another group with us had seniors and everyone was able to keep up no problem. We did the 2 hour tour and it flew by! I would highly recommend doing this tour, it was definitely worth it!

My son has been asking to go on a tour for a while so I surprised him by booking tickets for his birthday, our tour guides Pete and Kay made us feel welcome and relaxed from the start and they made the tour both fun and educational,lots of laughs and history was shared in the tunnels. we both learned things we'd never heard before. I would definitely recommend fhe tour for anyone looking for something a little different to do in Newcastle

Definitely the most interesting tourist attraction I've experienced in Newcastle. The guides we had were full of knowledge and more importantly a great ability to hold your attention and entertain when telling us the history of the tunnel. There were stories of different events in the timeline of the tunnel, information on local history which was even tailored to where you were as you progressed underneath the city. There were opportunities for questions too. It's definitely a learning experience and provides a great social history as you go. Loved it.

What a brilliant place to see anything epic. Steeped in black and white history the scale and enormity of its hallowed grounds are legendary. Home to the magpies since 1880. The pitch and scale of the 52k seater theatre are immense. We have been working there this weekend for the Rugby league World Cup for the super league festival and it's been brilliant. Thanks to the site and the people working there for some great footage for our film.

Even if your not a great fan of NUFC I can highly recommend doing the Stadium tour. I was lucky to just turn up and join a group, but these tours are very popular so I'd recommend purchasing tickets in advance. The tour lasts 1.5 hours and you get to see pretty much everything. Starting with a great view of the ground from the highest level you progress downwards visiting the Executive Boxes, past the Hospitality suites and onto pitch side. You also get to see the home and visitor changing rooms and press room. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history of the club, it's players and the Stadium. Really enjoyed my time there.

The size and scale of this stadium really is incredible. It has a car park and metro station underneath. Facilities look very League 1 in the concourse, but there's loads of leg room and the seats are comfy. Obviously cold as it's in the North East, so wrap up warm.

Amazing stadium overall the atmosphere of the fans when Newcastle plays there games is amazing I highly recommend visiting St. James’ park on match days to get the best experience you can. I can also say this with confidence Newcastle has one of the best fans in football history.

Not a football fan but attended a couple of games here. Always been a great atmosphere, stadium is superb and the vast. Excellently located for bars/restaurants surrounding. Brilliant day out and always thoroughly enjoyed it.

First time at this football ground. For away fans, I hope you don't have a fear of heights. A very good view and the Newcastle fans are as friendly as you'd expect. A great stadium for a city that really loves its football. Didn't get the result I'd have liked, but that football.

Went for the magic weekend & had a great time. 1st visit to st Jame's great stadium on a par with other prem league stadiums. Not a lot of room between the seats in front for those of us quite tall , long legs. Take out a mortgage for food & drink , captive audience £6 -£6.50 per pint, burger £7 etc.

Amazing experience visiting such a historic site of football! Super easy access to begin with, I really enjoyed every second of it, the guide was super nice and funny and he knew anything,answer all the questions and made the overall experience even more interesting! Great stadium. Have been here for both sporting events and gigs and both brilliant. The two pint pots are great for not needing to get to the bar as quick. Not much discount for it but you wil take 25p off each pint at stadium prices. Always feel safe there and great atmosphere.

What a great place to learn an reminisce about Newcastle and the lifestyle over it’s history. I haven’t been to the museum for ages and had some time to visit on a rainy morning. Very impressed and had some quality time remembering my youth and learning about the area I grew up in There are social, military and industrial exhibits. It’s free but a donation is suggested but certainly not mandatory. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hrs There is a café if you want food and snacks

We visited newcastle for a couple of days. The museum is great with lots of facts and interesting articles on the top floor, which is loads of things for children and even adults to interact with. If you're in Newcastle, it's 100% a must-see.

The Discovery Museum is a great way to spend a couple of hours. To start, it's free to enter, eith the option of donation. There are three floors of various things to. A look through the history of Newcastle, a section on the army and war. Plus, a slew of changing exhibitions. During the time we visited there was a section on the Jewish population of Newcastle which is always great to learn about.

Thoroughly good day out for the kids and adults alike. If it's just an adult visit, you can really take time to appreciate the intricacies of the displays. Some very poignant pieces that provoke an emotion I won't give away here. Plenty for the children as there is an interactive level too. Would definitely visit again. Plenty of parking outside.(2 car parks, the discovery museum car park is a little cheaper too)

Great museum with lots to see. Entry is free, but a suggested donation is there which I believe is not too bad. Museum has a good collection of historic items from Newcastle during different eras and it was quite interesting to learn the history of the city and see how things looked back in the days. There’s a lot of activities for kids. Great day out activity to do if you are in the city with family.

Visited here a few days ago and it was a really fun, spent around 1.5h here just exploring all the exhibits! It wasn’t too busy we got there for opening time :) also free to go in which is great!

It's a first visit after few years and it was a nice trip. There are lots of things to do for little ones, some historical and science sections for older kids and adults ...good cafe with nice cakes. Free but £5 donation recommended.

Great museum, clean and tidy. Toilets , spacious parking. Great for kids of any age 🙂 mine 6-8-11 love it. Easy access to each floor.

Excellent experience for 5+ years old. We had a family day out. We loved it! Started with lunch in the cafe. My son doesn't eat sandwiches so was quite restricted on what he could eat but our toasties were awesome. My other son adored his chhese sandwiches. The boys loved interacting in the science section. Learning about things as they went. They found the people of Newcastle section a bit dull but I found it quite fascinating. We struggled to park and ended up in what appeared to be a derelict site and paid £4 but at least it was nearby. The museum staff were absolutely lovely and fun plus informative. We ended our visit in the red arrow simulator which was well worth a little charge for tickets.

Staff very friendly and welcoming.it was so busy due to half term but staff said they had limited numbers due to restrictions, i cant imagine more people, it felt busy enough. It is very expensive in the cafe, soft drinks are nearly £2 a bottle so for a family this doesn't come cheap and once you have factored in food aswell the pounds quickly add up, my son didn't eat the cheese sandwich as he said it was "horrible".we also had chicken nuggets and these seemed to be a hit so that was a small hit. We spent 3 hours here in total and that was enough for us, the boys said they had a great time and thats the main thing. It's not a place I would come rushing back to but it's certainly worth a visit if you have not been before, just be prepared to queue for everything.

We spent all day here - literally from opening until close I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area again! From making our own cardboard faces, to the live science show about our gruesome bodies, the 2 planetarium shows, all the interactive exhibits... and the best bit for me was donning the lab coat and goggles doing actual experiments such as mixing acids and alkalis, and doing forensic fingerprinting! And the admission price was 10% off with it being last week of summer holidays

What a fantastic day out at the centre for life we had. Loads of highly interactive things for my daughter to do, from science experiments, to crafts, games, building rockets, learning about space science, it really is s great experience for children of all ages and adults too. Very safe in terms of covid setup, nice and spacious cafe area, plenty of staff to help with any issues too. Only challenge we had was one of the lifts broke so we had to lift my daughter's wheelchair up a short flight of steps. Regardless of that, I'd highly recommend a visit if you're in town. Always something new to see and do here.

Of your kids like hands on science activities then this is a great place to come. They also have a few shows and short movies that's shown on a dome which is quote cool. As a bonus we went on the Queen's Jubilee weekend and they gave free delicious cup cakes.

The Life Science Centre is a proper spot where you can easily spend the entire day and still not manage to cover everything! Took the grandson the other week, he loved it. Lots of stuff to get stuck into and have look at. Loads of hands-on bits to mess around with. I'd highly recommend catching the science theater show if it's on – it's a cracker. And you've got to check out the planetarium shows and the 5d motion ride. You know you'll always find something different and interesting. And getting there's a doddle – you've got parking close by or it's just a quick wander from the nearest train station or subway. Proper easy to get to!

Had a brilliant day here today came with my 2 year old, 5 year old and 8 year old. Decided to come here as was looking for somewhere which was autism friendly and I am so glad we travelled up here there was so much to do and perfect for my sons on the spectrum. I really loved the play area upstairs there was so much space for them to run around and play and for us to have a rest, the kids play kitchen area was a really big hit for my kids loved how it was so realistic. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will return again in the near future.

Fantastic experience. Visited here once in primary school on a trip so decided to bring my niece her for the first time. She absolutely loved it. Spent half an hour in the makers section creating monster puppets. Followed by two live shows and a walk around the Lego and Space section. She thoroughly loved it and can't get to get started on some little science experiments at home!

Really good day out - big shout out to the guys doing the signage - gave the little un a wave - really started the day off nice. It’s great inside - definitely for children that are a bit older but there’s loads to do for children of all ages. Will definitely go back and I think the little un will get more from it as she grows up

Had a great day here yesterday with my son, so much to do and see. Great for a rainy day. Lots of things for kids all ages to get involved in. We were here 2 hours but my son would of stayed longer. Staff really helpful and friendly.

Nice-looking bridge. There's lots of room on either side for pedestrians and cyclists, etc. Mostly, it gets you easily to and from the Grey Nag's Head in Gateshead. Cool views of the city and the fun neighborhood below the bridge on the west side, Newcastle side.

Its an iconic structure aswell as a landmark so as a teesside lad myself it was only right I go check it out for myself and it was amazing and well worth the visit.

The place is amazing and elegant but very busy. The staff are so attentive. I had a sirloin stake and cheddar mushroom soup. Everything was very delicious. Definitely going back again. I recommend making a reservation because it is usually busy.

Amazing place. Accommodated almost 20 of us from Belfast for a stag party lunch. Food was amazing. I ordered off the standard menu, which is more expensive, but worth it. They also have a lunch menu, £9, £12, £15 for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Rachel was our host, and couldn't have asked for better. Amazing service.

Fabulous service from Mark, great cocktails from the bar and delicious steaks from the kitchen. We shared the butchers block and was great value for money. Also excellent gluten free choice and knowledge and you can get more than the usual menu due to food prep!! Great team effort

Food was so tasty and decent sized portions for what you pay! Arrived quickly and all hot. Lush cocktails and also clean and aesthetically pleasing environment. Staff lovely and friendly, also decent how you can be sat outside, shame there wasn’t more tables as there would be room to add a few more.

I have always wanted to try here for a while so i did via Just Eat! Arrived on time piping hot and superbly packaged! I went for the 5 tapas bundle meal deal wasnt sure what each thing was so i just ordered what sounded nice haha. My least favorite was the Brazilian Fried Chicken although it was juicy, tender and spicy the way i like it tbh it had no flavour, a bit boring tbh. The Brie and Mango Empanadas were nice, savory, tad sweet and cheesy mmm! Next was Albondigas to me was a really nice meatball dish, very homely and hearty flavour, really nice! My next fav was the Chicken Quesadilla, packed full of flavour.. chicken peppers and all sorts, the wrap it came in was soft and slightly charred.. very taaty indeed! My absolute favorite of all was the Fiesta Tapas.. what is that i hear you ask? Basically its a salad lol not just any salad tho this was stunning.. packed full of all sorts of flavours with watermellon and these little red pearls i have never seen before which are actually called Roquito Peppers which are sweet and spicy anyway im not normally a salad person but this i would highly recomend 👍😁👌

We went to Las iguanas in hopes of some amazing food however I was left slightly disappointed. The sweetcorn side was extremely dry and the ribs I had were too fatty. Which was a shame. The nachos were nice though and the staff were extremly friendly.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant, where the waiters were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their attentive service truly added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the excellent dishes they served. Each plate was prepared with care, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and presentation. Moreover, the timing of the service was impeccable, ensuring that each dish arrived at the table promptly. Had the bottomless brunch today and what an amazing day we had. It's well worth the money £29 pp. For starter and main and as much prosecco as we could drink, we had 3/4bottles and many cocktails. The added bonus was the service provided by the wonderful Lydia, nothing was too much effort. She was attentive and our glasses were never empty. Will definitely be returning and hopefully we get Lydia again !

Food was amazing. The crispy chicken in garlic was unreal. We had nachos and fajitas And zombie cocktails 2 for 1. Highly recommended

For mains, we ordered Lamb shank kashmiri rogan josh and Handi lazeez (chicken). They were delicious, and I really recommend the lamb shank for meat lovers. We were given complementary ice cream at the end, which was a very good touch from them. Speaking of which, the staff were very friendly, and they showed very good hospitality.

Good quality food, excellent customer service ( apart from being watched and stood next to at the end of our meal, as they wanted our table. They should have just let us know the table was needed, rather than making us feel uncomfortable ). The 3 people I went with would give this either 4/5 stars, and they all loved their food. I chose Murgh Malbari Maharaja for my main. The roast chicken was really bland, and the skin and meat was quite tough. The sauce was a very basic coconut cream sauce too so I was quite disappointed. They served it in a small bowl, so I had no where to put the rice. The naan breads were steaming hot and very fresh, they were delicious. I dont think what we got justified the amount we paid. I decided to let my hair down ( without checking price! ) and didn't realise until the end of the meal that 2 Gin cocktails cost me just under £20. Lovely drinks with candy Floss on top, but tasted no gin in them. Poppadoms were £4.50 and the equivalent of 3 poppadoms broken up in a bowl were provided to us with a mango sauce, yogurt sauce and a pineapple chutney. We love onion salad and lime pickle, so we were surprised and disappointed these weren't provided. You can buy lime pickle but we didn't realise that until we had finished. As there was 4 people on our table, we were given 2 of these so we were charged £9. I wouldn't recommend. Portion sizes are small-medium. I also personally felt that there wasn't much to choose from. I'm sure my 3 friends will return but I don't think I will.

A little indian oasis on a dreary wet Newcastle Friday evening . The restaurant is a small place . Beautiful pieces of art with soft lighting adorn the walls . It's what you call an intimate eating establishment, in fact the waiter told us it seats 35 people at anyone time , so you know you will get looked after . The menu is what an Indian menu should be . Not too many dishes but enough regulars and new dishes that make you curious and subsequently I found that the resteraunts interpretation of some of the dishes was outstanding . For starters the sev puri and a dish of lamb chops. The sev puri was super fresh . All the tastes , textures dancing in your mouth in one glorious party , good start . The lamb chops , simply wow. Charred on the outside but the inside soft and tender . The masala coating subtle but packed a punch and then little pomegranate jewels explode in your mouth to temper the fire that begins to increase with every bite. Brilliant. Then came the chicken jalferezi and garlic naan . I am from the north west of England and I have to say that we are spoilt for choice and quality when it comes to indian food but Simlas was one of the best . Dark rich sauce dressed the succulent moist chicken with slivers of peppers giving depth to the colour and a warning that this was gonna be hot . We always ask for "apna style" when ordering food in an Indian restaurant, basically means make it home style hot and this didn't disappoint. The dish was hot but hot in a pleasant way. It didn't leave your lips or mouth numb but it set fire to the perimeter of your tongue and you got the heat subtly at the back of the throat . The garlic naan , a lively accompaniment to the dish which tempered the spice perfectly. Everything was polished off dutifully. Then the crowning glory . They only do 3 desserts and the one that caught my eye was a rice pudding infused with saffron cream topped with pistachios , served cold . Fragrant , nice subtle cardamon and moreish , just what was needed to round off a tour de force of an exceptional meal. The bill came to a very reasonable amount and I would have happily paid more . We then departed into the wet , dreary Newcastle night glowing in the aftermath of an culinary feast . Brilliant

My mum and I had a terrific Sunday night meal at Simla. Nice place to be. The food was terrific- delicately flavoured & spiced. Not a bit greasy. Nice selection of vegetarian dishes for mum. Will def return if/when we next come to Newcastle! Thank you

Amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant is visually stunning and walking through the door, we were treated like family. The menu caters well for both meat eaters and vegetarian and the quality of food is second to none. Highly recommend Panak Paneer. Excellent wine list. A long established family business well worth a visit.

Got a last minute booking on a very busy bank holiday weekend. The place was packed, but the service from start to finish was superb, very friendly and efficient. The curry I had was one of the best I've ever eaten, & everyone on our table felt the same. Can't recommend this place highly enough, absolutely excellent.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lezzet Newcastle, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From start to finish, the food was simply outstanding. To begin, the hummus and bread were served fresh and had a delightful combination of flavors. The hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned, while the bread was warm and fluffy. Moving on to the mains, I opted for the Adana, and it was a true delight. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting in my mouth. Each bite was a burst of juicy, buttery goodness. It's evident that Lezzet Newcastle takes great care in preparing their dishes with high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the baklava with ice cream. This heavenly dessert surpassed my expectations. The baklava was wonderfully crisp, with layers of sweet, sticky goodness. Brilliant restaurant in a lovely setting. The portions are huge. Visited for a birthday and they made a real fuss when bringing out the cake which was lovely, music, singing, lights dimmed and candles.

An excellent place for dining. Wide varieties of Indian foods are available at a reasonable price. You need to book the seats prior. Some days without booking we can enter. We felt that a large group of parties can conduct very easily...

I liked the taste of food . They have so many dishes in LAMB. Lamb lovers will love it more . And I loved the variety of desserts . So creamy and yummy. I went for my friend bday . They are good at making surprises by bringing birthday cake and play songs . It’s very lively and happy moment. You need to tell the staff about the birthday plan . I loved the birthday cake a lot . It’s so soft,creamy & Very melting cake.

A delicious buffet in Newcastle!! Variety of dishes including pizza and pasta, almost a dozen of different sauces and pickles, Pakistani and Indian traditional dishes including Biryani, Qorma, Karahi, nibari, paaye, haleem etc. Variety of Bbq options including chicken tikka, lamb and chicken seekh kabab, chicken wings, chops etc Many snacking items as well. Really good selection of food, albeit of fairly average quality. Plenty of staff around to remove used plates and take drinks orders. Music and lighting create a good atmosphere and family friendly. Allergens and dietary preferences are clearly marked on all dishes, but the risk of contamination due to buffet self service should be considered. Drinks are reasonably priced so a great value night overall.

Good staff Food was not really good samosas was too bad too dry nit really clean but i like Indian desert was nice
