Popular main street of Naha. Touristy. Plenty of stores & restaurants. Packed with people. Great atmosphere. Prices may be higher at times. There are street markets that branch off. Worth exploring when in Okinawa. Love it at night with the lights vs the day. Parking available nearby but pricey.

I came to look for a job, since I am a foreign student but with studies and working experience... 10 minutes later a security guard appeared and told me that I could not submit my job requests here. I have felt treated as if I was stealing or a criminal, I was just looking for a job. It seems that if you are not a millionaire Chinese customer they do not want other types of people.

A terrible beach which shows what happens when uncontrolled development is allowed. A giant highway has been built over the beach and near waters. The massive structure blocks out sun light and ocean views. So if you are looking for a nice beach to relax and enjoy the view this is not it. The area around here is used for scuba training and simple snorkeling. It’s a travesty that Naha’s only beach has been impaired by the massive highway. There are so many other incredible beaches in Okinawa no need to bother with this one.

This beach 🏖 has a different value. If you are staying close to Miebashi or Naha airport, you know that beautiful beaches are little in number there. Though there are many cons here such a bridge over it, no convenience store nearby, still if you are stying nearby, have a little free time, also want yourself into the sea and enjoy Okinawa ‘s sandy beach at least, why do you wait? Just get yourself there.

Great place to just chill or meditate. The bridge is blocking the horizon view but I think having a clean swimmable beach right in the city center is so cool.

Well. It looks like okay beach. It is quite unique to see the bride over the beach. Also, interesting nature behind it. I live in Okinawa-si, so I go to the Chatan area often, which has beautiful beaches. This beach is good enough if you are visiting Naha, but the beach itself was nothing special to me.

Well, is a beach, and it's super easy to get to from the city center by car. Parking is free for 30 min. That may be all you need. If you like staring at highway overpasses, you're going to love it here.

During our trip to Japan, we decided to visit Naminoue Beach on a warm Saturday in June, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. What struck us the most was how serene and uncrowded the beach was, providing a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Before heading to the beach, we picked up a picnic breakfast from a nearby grocery store, which was a great way to start the day. Finding some shade, we settled down to enjoy our meal and take in the beautiful surroundings before venturing onto the sandy shoreline. At Naminoue Beach, we found all the necessary amenities for a comfortable beach day. There were attentive lifeguards, convenient showers, and public restrooms, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The sight of a man selling jerk chicken and another selling beer out of his van added a unique and local touch to our beach day, making it an even more memorable experience. Though we couldn't swim due to the aftermath of a recent typhoon, we made the most of our time by exploring the beach and collecting cool shells that dotted the shore. The presence of the Naminoue Shrine overlooking the area added a touch of culture and history to our beach visit. While we didn't get the full experience of swimming on that particular day, Naminoue Beach still left a positive impression on us. Its peaceful atmosphere and the chance to witness the local vendors added to the charm of this quaint beach. In conclusion, I highly recommend Naminoue Beach to anyone visiting the area. Despite not being able to fully swim during our visit, the tranquil setting, friendly vendors, and picturesque surroundings made it a memorable and enjoyable stop during our time in Japan. It's a must-visit destination for those seeking a serene escape from the city's hustle and a chance to unwind by the sea. One last thing, near the beach is a small grassy area with a butterfly garden, swing set, and small cave which we visited after leaving the beach.

Cozy beach in naha with views of a highway overpass. The swimming area has barriers all around about the size of a soccer field. Lots of mainland Japanese tourists and local Okinawan guys sitting along the entrance watching the ladies... My Okinawan friend said Okinawans go for the eye candy. I did spot a life guard so it seems safe. There are also food trucks and showers/toilets.

tbh there's nothing too special about Naminoue Beach and probably comparing to most beaches in Okinawa, it's not the prettiest. But it's the only beach in Naha city and the closest beach to the airport. It's nice to have a beach near by whenever you want to go😊

Small beach but clean with transparent water, life guards on duty from 9 am to 19:00 pm (weekdays, summer time). There are some facilities there: Washroom, paid shower, couple of restaurants just across the street, beach umbrella can be rented at site (¥2000) and chairs (¥1500) as well. Nearest beach to go if you are in Naha and have some minutes to spare to get rid of the stress.

Wonderful and enjoyable spot to visit if you love pottery. You can spend more than an hour or so just viewing the different pottery shops. There are a variety of styles ranging from cute and modern to more traditional designs and glazing techniques.

Randomly came across Yahimun Street and it is amazing! So many small traditional Okinawan pottery shops offering all kinds of styles. If you go further into the back alleys you will see the actual pottery makers at work. Great for a light stroll and window shopping. A must!

Okinawan Tsuboya-yaki pottery. It’s a pottery street where you have have access to pottery craft, gift and experience. There’re not a lot of people when I was here (Tuesday 12:55 pm) but there are many pottery stores lining up along the street.

This quaint Okinawan street housed many shops which showcase the craftsmanship in pottery, glassware and brass/bronze ware. It’s a nice place to explore and shows a different side of the busy city, which tends to have more shopping and eating to do. These photos are taken of individual shops which are different in character and style. A treat for anyone interested in pottery!

Short walk from Kokusai-dori. Plenty of pottery stores. A speciality in Okinawa. Beautiful pieces. Prices are high though. Not that crowded on a Sunday noon. Great for a casual walk. Worth a visit if you have the time.

A lot of pottery shop , from very reasonable price few hundred yen to hundred yen . If you love Pottery this is the place you can’t miss if you visit Naha .

After a few hours of shopping we decided to go for rest and relation. Boy were blown away by how relaxing and tranquil this shrine was! Great photos as well! The shrine brings all elements together and creates an experience that will never be forgotten! A must see when traveling to Okinawa!

This shrine was good. Nothing really impressed me, though. It is small enough to see. It's definitely worth visiting if you are planning to go to Naminoue Beach. I was happy to visit here because it was very close to where I am staying tonight. I am not so sure if it is worth visiting from far.

Beautiful shrine next to the beach. The area you can visit is pretty small, so it won't take long at all to see everything, but if you're nearby it's worth it.

This is a must-visit spot in Okinawa. Beautiful shrine at the edge of a cliff in Naha. It's a perfect little sanctuary amongst all the loud chaos nearby. There is a direct entrance to the beach from right next to the shrine will give you an amazing view seeing it on the cliffside. Parking can be difficult, but there are paid parking lots nearby.

Amazing place to visit here in Naha. Recommend if your hotel is close by, but if not.. I’m sure the others are just as nice as this place was. Very busy during the holidays.

Honestly, didn’t love it. It was just okay as Shrines go. I know it’s one of the go-to sites in the area, but we were underwhelmed.

A very beautiful and atmospheric shrine located in Naha City. The shrine is built on a hill by the sea, and the wind from the sea blows comfortably in the precincts. The amulets and red seal books that can be purchased here are engraved with traditional Okinawan patterns and are very beautiful. You can also go down to the beach from the path beside the shrine grounds. On days when there are few visitors, you can feel the time pass by slowly and peacefully. We recommend a visit when you come to Naha.

It was one of the reachable shrines I could get to without transportation during my stay in Naha. Beautiful shrine next to a park. There seems to be a tour group that takes tourists to this location as a tour destination since there was a group as I arrived at the location... couldn't really get any quiet prayers done while I was I'm the shrine. Also, there was a ceremony going on at the time so it was extra crowded.

Customer service is fantastic, but unfortunately the quality of meat is very low. We've been to the Flipper and the Emerald, so Jack's steak, which is about the same price, was rather disappointing. I guess they are so famous with tourists that they don't have to try hard anymore.

I went there around 11:45am on a week day and was in line for about 30m. To be honest it was quicker than I thought cuz they always have a huge line. The steak was tender but the taste was a little plain. The corn soup was very creamy and reminds me of traditional Taiwanese steak house (they also have those creamy corn soup). Tacos was also ok and it is small so perfect as a sidd. On the menu they only have a set of 5 tacos but you can ask for single serving.

Best steak, beef is so tender. Highly recommend to order large size steak with medium rare. Very popular, need to wait about 30 mins even on weekdays 1:30 PM. Japan style-soy sauce is good with steak.

Steak House in Naha! Service: Their crew were accommodating and nice. From the time we set our feet in the front door someone approaches us to assist. The steak will be cooked in line to your like. We choose #2 Medium with rice. Food: The food was good, maybe am more of flavorful type of person so I don't find it so enticing and deli. The beef quality tho is something to try. For an amount of 1800 yen/set you will get a soup, coleslaw salad and steak with rice and some potatoes. I think they are the one who did their sauce. It's good too. Parking Lot: They have quite a space for like 10 customer at the same time. At the moment they are all Take Out only. They do not have English menu ready in the front door but you can see the English one inside across the counter.

Taste is not bad. Steak is as tender as its name. This restaurant will be crowded after 6:00pm. If you don’t want to wait for the long line, you better come earlier.

One gets into Okinawan atmosphere once gets in to this place. The owners - elderly couple - are among customers stay, talk, and serve them. You can have only local drinks and food here. Be ready to queue, but it goes fast.

Nice resto for local Okinawan cuisine. There was a 30 min queue for dinner, if you're willing to wait, the food is quite delicious. There is a recommended set, another patron said "Set A is really good" on his way out. My group ended going a la carte because most of the dishes we wanted were not in the set. The champuru and pork soup (very wholesome, soul food feels) were complimented by everyone, the squid ink soup was loaded with squid chunks and the flavors was positively intense. The squid ink risotto was more of a porridge and worth trying if you have a large group, I would skip it if you're a couple because the portion is large. They have homemade umeshu and large bottles of Orion, but nothing on that's on tap. Owner thanked us on the way out, nice guy and rounded out the overall pleasant experience.

Probably the most tasteful and atmospheric restaurant I have been in one year in Japan. Their rafute is extraordinary. Totally worth the wait.

Eggplant fried tofu was amazing. Taro tempura also surprised me. Seeweed tempura was great as well. Deep tried tofu was rather normal in comparison.

Incredibly good Okinawan food with friendly staff and English menu. Traditional atmosphere. Be prepared to wait, but it's worth it and the last part of the wait is seated inside where you can watch locals chatting and dining. We ordered 6 dishes (pork belly in miso sauce is a must eat, it's the first thing in the English menu) and we couldn't finish them all. Paid about 5000 yen (with beer). They have an English speaking staff member and are so helpful and friendly they'll even ask you about allergies! Highly recommended.

The rafute (Okinawan braided pork) is amazing and tender. Ordered the set lunch and wasn't disappointed. This is authentic Okinawan food so it was nice to experience what the locals eat. Most of the food was excellent 👍 The owners know conversational English and they have an English menu as well, so that made ordering much easier. Very nice atmosphere and service. Would come visit again!!!

Amazing food, amazing staff. I personally had the Goya Campuru (bitter melon with egg and tofu), Rafute (2 pieces of pork belly in some sort of sauce), and the Ika-yaki (Squid ink yakisoba noodles). The champuru was great - as a person that isn't a fan of super bitter foods, the freshness and thin slice made it a ton more enjoyable than I expected. The rafute and ikayaki were also great - I'd recommend some carb to go with the fatty pork belly though. In total, I paid ¥2100 for 3 dishes. Service was amazing, and there's an English menu. Be prepared to pay in cash - they do not take credit cards. The only downside is that it's a really popular restaurant among locals and tourists! I waited 45-60 minutes on a Monday evening.

Had to wait a bit outside as it was packed (on a Monday!) The service then is super fast, the food is great. I had Tempura Moriawase and Sôki Karaage (spare ribs), both in the day menu, and both were nice. I guess I could have gone for a 3rd dish if I were hungrier!

Wrongly ordered a Hamburger steak but it turns out delicious. Bread is super soft. Love it. Coke is too little.

I often eat here for lunch. Mostly I order the lunch sets ¥500-1,000). The food is good especially if you like beef. The staff is kind and friendly.

Can enjoy yummy food there, especially different kinds of beef, they all taste really nice. Also, you may enjoy free parking there too.

Ordered an Ishigaki steak. When asked how I want my meat, I said medium rare. When I got my beef, it was well done. As I had to go back to work, I had no choice but to eat it. But clearly not the experience I was looking for when paying 5300 yen for lunch.. That said, the waiter was really sorry for the trouble and tried to make it up with free soft drink. Will I return? No. But appreciate the service attitute.

Okinawan dishes cooked in a homely manner by a troop of Japanese oba-sans! They have brought heart-warming and belly-filling dishes to the public at extremely affordable prices and large portions. These ladies are so experienced and efficient, it was a joy watching them work in their open-style kitchen. The restaurant was fairly busy even at about 11pm. It operates long hours, catering to the breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper crowds. My dish was traditional tofu soup, served with a fried egg, salmon, salad and white rice. The tofu packs a moderate firm bite which gives a very handmade feel to it. This was the highlight of my meal. The other dish was a stir-fry comprising of corned beef, vegetables and egg. This dish was really tasty because of the corned beef, and goes perfectly with a bed of steaming hot white rice. I’d say this restaurant is great value-for-money to savor the local cuisine in a comforting homemade style as our grandmas or mothers would whip up a sumptuous meal at home! If you return to this restaurant, do try their other dishes!

A must place when you’re around Naha. Great service, cheap and delicious home cooked Okinawan cuisine. I had the tofu, eggplant and pork miso stir fry and it’s very good. From my observations, this place is quite popular as it was showcased in Japanese TV variety shows. The place is quite small so it gets busy quick during peak time so there is a wait time.

Great food and service. The food was original and very similar to home cooked meals. Price is good considering the portions. Worth considering if you're in the area, and wanted an authentic Okinawan lunch or dinner.

Must try! Home cook style set meal in the center of Naga city. The taste of any dishes are fantastic. There are 4 auntie chefs cooking in front of you at the counter. 6 set meals are highly recommended, not just the taste, freshness is definitely score 6 stars! You may enjoy how they cook before having your delicious meal.

There is already a long queue of locals, tourists before the restaurant opens at 11.30am. Have to queue for about one hour to get in. The soba may be too al dente for some people. The rice is great and goes well with the sauce from the pork dish. The elderly lady serving us can speak simple English. The pork is not tender enough especially the lean parts. The salted biscuit for 30 yen is nice and is a local Okinawa snack, which can be bought in supermarket.

9/2023 Soba, tofu (wow), pork, rice are all excellent. Waitress made us feel so welcome, always with a smile. I usually don’t care too much about service, but this time it made the experience extra nice. There’s a little outside area with seats and bougainvillea, set apart by a huge window (glass wall?) but the glass is so clean that it’s hard to notice it’s there, and the bright pink flowers + fresh green leaves are so pretty. You can just stare outside and feel relaxed. (If you get a seat where you can see it that is…) Really glad we got to go 😊 (Entered Saturday right around noon, miraculously no wait, but when we left there were roughly ten people waiting.)

Reach much earlier if you want to avoid a long queue. Waited in line for about an hour. Also note that the carpark is pretty small. Prices were cheap and decent servings. The noodle like people mentioned was chewy and the broth tasting light. The meat was the highlight as it was tender and delicious.

In the neighbourhood nearby Shurijo, down a side street is a normal looking house with a line out the front of it. The singular reason for the line is of course Okinawan Soba, a dish Shuri does excellently. We popped in after a little wait for four bowls, shaved ice and some cookies. Okinawan soba is an interesting dish, a light dashi with thicker (clearly homemade) noodles than you might find in a ramen joint. The reason ramen is the comparison is because in Okinawa soba is made with wheat. If you haven't had it give it a go, its great.

When I went there the place was not even open and there was a long queue outside the shop. There were approximately 20 people in the queue in front of us. When the shop opened, we still had to wait as the shop was filled. We waited for about 10mins before the shop open and then waited about another 15mins until we got seated. They only have a Japanese menu but the waiter knows minimal English and we were able to order what we wants. The food was served within 8mins. The noodles tasted so nice with the soup. The meat was tender! The bean curd and vegetables were tasty too! The rice ball had some curry inside it which was very tasty. The fried rice was very tasty too! We had a great time there! We will be back for more!

The pork is so so so good. Other than that, everything is normal. The noodles were a bit too hard for me. Not the best soba I’ve ever had.
