It is the most beautiful church i have ever been to. The area is huge and the interior is so pretty. The statues and paintings all have history behind it. It was nice to know the our past is preserved in such an honourable way. The upper area was closed at the time. But the front alone is gigantic. You can sit there for hours and feel the serenity.

Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal is a masterpiece of architecture and art! The interior of the church is one of the most dramatic in North America if not the world! The deep blue color of the vaults is probably the most eye catching parts of the entire church. The church is also decorated with a series of beautiful paintings and hundreds of wooden carvings. The stained glass windows give a religious history of the foundation of Montreal. Don't overlook the spiral stairs in the church either. Topping it off is the gigantic pipe organ in the back of the church. The building is definitely a must see however, a few things could be be changed. If you pay for a ticket you are not allowed in the second or third balcony of the church. There is a lot of great art up there that is hard to see from the floor level. Perhaps, the church could find someway to allow people access to these areas. Also, I don't know if they have guided tours but they wouldn't be a bad idea. This place is a must see if you're in Montreal!

It was just superb and breathtaking. It was huge and made fantastic. There is ticket entry for visitors. You can buy it online before hand to save some time. Car parking is available on the street as well as there is public parking in just opposite to this. You can do prayer. There is separate chamber as well for prayer which is not allowed for visitors. Very well maintained.

While it’s truly magnificent from the outside, it will not be a complete experience without checking it from the inside! The interior is so stunning it will take your breath away. I wish I had the chance to see the Aura show but I will make sure to do so the next time we visit Montreal.

Must go places if you are in Montreal. Don't forget to buy tickets online. We purchased tickets while in the queue over the phone. It takes you to a different world... architecture was so impressive. We went on Easter weekend so super busy but we we mesmerized.

What s historical landmark, the Gothic European architecture is so amazing all the interior design details are incredible. It's great place to worship also get a museum like experience. The live music was playing when we walked in the immense organ sounds captivating.

This basilica is one of the most intricate pieces of art that I've seen as compared to a lot of the European counterparts. The Aura light show is definitely highly recommended. I would personally suggest to book the Aura experience and rather than double booking the viewing, see it while you're in for that.

Excellent and fantastic architecture and art inside this iconic church. My whole family had a great visit, admiring the beauty within the walls. They told me a typical visit would be 45 minutes but we are free to stay as long as we like once we pay for the tickets. We ended up staying about 45 minutes in total. That’s about as long as you need.

Beautiful gardens, tons of walking paths, many places to sit in the shade and admire the views. The presentations we saw were well done and interesting. We especially loved the Chinese garden. It was very hot today though and we didn't get to see many of the gardens - my back and feet just couldn't take the amount of walking.

An awesome planned botanical garden, a gem of Montreal's attractions. We appreciate the greenhouse which houses many plants from the rain forest, the tropics, and from the arrid desert. This collection requires travels that an average person would not be able to make in his lifetime. The Chinese and Japanese gardens are authentically created, bringing out the beauty of each own. Chinese garden is more showy and large, while Japanese simple and minimalist. The rose garden is splendidly laid out, still shows some of its glory even though we visited it when the high bloom has passed. The Alpine garden is great, nesting around the rocks. The First Nation captured the spirit of the wild. Our most favorite is the every day garden the blends decorating flowers among vegetables and fruits. Very creative and practical. Nice on-site restaurant with delicious food, a nice touch to round out the visit. A must see in Montreal....

Beautiful garden. Unfortunately we had only planned to spend about 2-3 hours here, and due to time we never got through it all. I would definitely recommend planning at least a half a day maybe even longer. So many different plants and flowers to see, all artfully arranged. It is a fantastic garden. This would also be a great place to see multiple times a year just to see how it changes. Or different times a day. The flowers were lovely, in full bloom when we went. Plenty of places to take pictures, sit and enjoy the outside, or take a stroll among nature. We went during the week, early, and it wasn't too busy, however the parking lot was full when we left.

The assortment of plants and trees are very good. It was good fun to roam around and look at the different plants from many different regions. My favourite was the Bonsai section. Can do the whole tour (indoor section - went during the winter months) in an hour and it is self paced. Wasn't too busy when we went. Paid parking on site - quite a lot of them.

One of my favourite gardens across North America, and rivals some of the best I’ve seen in the world! Tons of pretty flowers, interesting trees, arranged with care in various smaller (and educational) gardens like the First Nations garden, Chinese garden, and Japanese garden to name a few. Large variety of plants and landscapes plus events like tea ceremonies and lantern festivals means I love coming every few months to see what’s new! I’d highly recommend the Chinese garden in particular with the large pond, multiple pavilions and bonsai (-like?) collection! I’ve come alone, with friends and with family and it’s always a great time

Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a plant lover, or simply seeking a serene experience, this garden is an absolute gem. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone, and I am already planning my next visit.

I had an amazing time at the Montreal Botanic Garden! It's a beautiful oasis in the city with diverse and well-maintained gardens. The Japanese and Chinese Gardens were peaceful, and the Rose Garden smelled incredible. The staff was helpful, sharing interesting facts about the plants. It's a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts and families. Can't wait to go back and explore more!

Highly recommend this park if you’re a nature lover and ready to walk! Love to at this park even though it was hot, I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere. Perfect for family/couple outings. The entry fee is not that bad either! Worth your time

Went there in July. Beautiful gardens. My kids haven’t seen traditional Chinese gardens. This is a memorable experience. The trip was educational too. Also admire Koi in the pond for good luck!

Absolutely beautiful! We spent 2.5hours walking the main track and didn't get to see 50% of the whole garden. Better when it's not so busy... could be more peaceful closer to the off hours when there's less people. Highly recommend to all - locals and tourists alike.

Wow! Just blown away by this botanical garden. It's massive with a lot of of different gardens like Chinese, Japanese, Rose, Shade, Medicinal ... too many to list. And they have a massive Arboretum. Entrance fee is justified given how big and nice the gardens. Our favorite was the Chinese garden. We easily spent 2.5 hours and maybe covered half the property. They have benches scattered around the property where you can sit and relax and enjoy the beauty of the gardens.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese and Japanese gardens. There is a photo of a woman that is promoted that is no longer here. But there is lot to do and experience. Wear long sleeve and bug spray. Lots of mosquitoes this time of year! Arrive early to avoid crowds. Definitely my favorite part of my visit.

Beautiful, serene, not too crowded! Lots of themed gardens like the rose garden, Japanese garden and Chinese garden. Costs around $23 per adult, can be a lot of walking so pace yourself and come early in the day to see as much as possible. Can see more than just plants - spotted some turtles, a wood duck and some koi fish. There are also sculptures like a large dragon, roosters and butterflies. Very scenic and truly a great spot to take photos!

This majestic church was one of the highlights of our visit to Mont Royal. It's interior is much more modern looking than other basilicas, and it's newer of course, but no less beautiful or grand. There's lots to see, different rooms and sanctums on different levels, each with its own character and story. Spend $2 and get the guide. And be sure to light a candle in the gorgeous Votive Chapel.

Amazing story of a beautiful church, with wonderful history of healing ❤️‍🩹. We had a guide walk us through the whole church as I wanted the whole history, Not just to wander alone. Our guide she explained all the healing and the testimonials, how the father started in a small room, and lived there till he died. How his body is buried in the Church including his heart ❤️ which is on display which someone stole the heart held it for ransom for money, but later returned it when no one would pay the Ransom fee. Loved the Water coming out of the stone, candles. Be sure to say prayers there. Enjoy The view of the city is wonderful Go slow and if you can Hire the guide for $6 Worth every penny.

Fantastic place to visit and surprisingly, it is free admission. Parking is $5 is you want to park close by, otherwise you can park on the street. The place is under renovation (exterior side), so there is a shuttle bus to bring you up. There is also an outdoor terrace that let you see a spectacular view of the city.

This church is uphill but no worries there is free parking at the top and even free bus services are provided. The church has a cafe, museum and stores to shop. The view from the top is the best thing there. Must go place if you are in Montreal.

It's really a great place. Everyone should visit it once. Awesome landscape view in every weather. The crypt is really beautiful and very peaceful. The whole vibe is amazing. Although I am not Christian but the whole experience of lightening the candle in the crypt and praying was out of the world.

Amazing architecture, history, artifacts and art. Not to mention the spiritual presence there. You can park on site and walk up the hill or take a shuttle bus up the steep road trail. The view from above and below is spectacular. Learn about the interesting life of Father Andre. It's $5 for parking and a donation is appreciated. You can ask the spirit of brother Andre to say a prayer for any loved ones that are I'll or for yourself. You will not be disappointed Ina visit to this amazing international landmark.

It is such a beautiful church. I loved the architecture. They have 6 levels but some levels are not accessible. They also have a panoramic view of the city from the 3rd level. Currently they have some construction going on and getting a parking spot is difficult. They provide shuttle service every 10-15 minutes if parking is not available near the church. They also have a small cafe in case you want to grab a bite. They request for a $5 donation at the entrance except on Sundays. I visit this place every time I visit Montreal.

Visited the Biodome for the first time and it was a fantastic experience. It was such a great time looking at different animals. They are so adorable. The space is very well structured and there is a lot of walking involved so be prepared. Some sections are way hotter as the temperatures are maintained such for the animals. So its a challenge to walk around with heavy winter jackets. My most favourite were the Penguins & Otters! A must-visit with family & friends!

Very impressive building with 4 completely different biomes for the animals. However, one can easily see everything within one hour and many of the enclosures seem a bit small for the animals. For example the lynx and the raccoon were always walking on a fixed route around their enclosures which did not seem natural or healthy. Similar behaviour could be seen with the penguins. I expected more for the 23 CAD entry fee. Kids will have fun there though.

Such a great experience and fun for all ages. You walk through 3 different ecosystems and see all the animals and how they fit into their ecosystem. There are staff members available throughout to assist with questions or to share some more information with you if you’d like to hear. The trails are mostly accessible aside from 2 aerial walkways that have stairs and no ramps or elevators. But you can see these areas from down below so it does not take away from your experience. There is a vegan restaurant in the food court that sells delicious food, snacks and drinks to replenish you after the walk. And the gift shop is one of my favourite places. I want to buy everything in there. They have such a great selection of toys and gifts. An absolute must see if you’re in Montreal!

This place is perfect for families with kids. The animals are amazing, the territory is clean, well maintained, and organized. You get a special brochure with the description of the animals in each section. The building is not too big for the kids to get tired. The nice bonus was the cafeteria. There are tables where you can eat your own food. There are even microwaves that can be used by the visitors. This place is really kids and family friendly! Make sure you buy the tickets in advance.

Amazing experience. Lots to see and totally worth it. We loved the penguins the most and went at feeding time which was interesting to see. The Lynx and otters were close seconds. The app didn’t seem to do much for me and wasn’t worth the download unless you want to learn more about the animals. I was very hot throughout most of the visit, unclear if because of temps inside for the animals or because there were a lot of people, or both. Would recommend dressing light. I liked how open it was.

Especially good if you're with kids or high. As an adult it doesn't take long to go through (about 1-2 hours max) and hence becomes not so worth it. Guides along the way point out information which is cool. Definitely look up the schedule in advance and buy tickets in advance so you're able to enter at the time slot you desire - they limit it so it doesn't get too overcrowded. Construction June 2023 makes it hard to get to the entrance

We really enjoyed it. They have 4 rooms with different climates, resembling various animals. One of the rooms is very cold, around 5 degrees Celsius, so I recommend bringing a jacket 😄 The price for tourists is reasonable; we paid 46 for 2 adults on a weekday.

It is very hard to describe what it's like today. It has been freshened up but it has less of everything. They have to repopulate the biodome. If you've never been there (and have kids), then yes, it is nice. Nice elevators, bathrooms, nursing area for moms, and new jellyfish tank. However, those of us who had visited the Biodome since 2001, are somewhat disappointed. There are less fish in the aquarium, less penguins, less birds, you name it. There used to be a basement area with insects and self discovery things for kids. Also, a huge souvenir area with good prices. I saw a lot of wasted space on the top floor. Now, the best part were the 3 lynxes. I have mixed feelings...because I used to love going there. Maybe I had higher expectations.

Loved the experience! All the animals looked well cared. Their penguins are super cute and the jellyfish display is mesmerizing. They serve vegan food at the cafe and have a small gift store so check them out for souvenirs. If you go on a weekend you may not find parking easily and beware of the kids they are so loud.

Took our 3&5 year old grand kids. We all had a great time. The planetarium was great too(youngest had a great nap while we enjoyed the show). What a great way to reuse the Olympic sites. We look forward to another trip when we have time to visit the insect, butterfly, and Biosphere sites that are part of the full Life Science package. (Traffic in the area is a challenge it seems all day so prepare for that)

Visited Biodome in summer. Ticketing is quick and smooth but since they are famous for school visit it is recommended to buy in advance via web or ticket machine in the receptionist area to avoid queue. Visit to 5 areas available will probably last you 1hour top. Special price available for student or under 17yo.

Well I had heard so many great things about this place I wanted to stop. Having been to places like the Boston Aquarium and The San Diego Zoo several times I guess I’m hard to impress. I honestly believe it wouldn’t take much to make this experience so much better. They need to work on their “interactive experience”, given there is almost no staff for the public. This is one of 5 venues at the location. I really hope to check the other locations out on future visits. If you don’t have a lot of zoo experience I believe you’d really enjoy it especially with children. Adults without children can easily navigate this spot in about 60 minutes.

Museum is very nice! Long line but the wait went by quickly. They take your jackets and big bags and hold it in a room for you. One floor of the museum is based on a New York artist. The other floor is filled with sculptures. I recommend visiting this museum. All the artwork is beautiful to look at :) This is also a boutique. I recommend bringing extra money if you would like to shop. Some of the items can cost up to $200 while other items are less than $30.

Instead of attending Canada Day celebrations, we instead went to the museum to look at indigenous art & other Canadian artists. They also had an exhibition on from Columbia showing and educating people on their indigenous culture and practices. Overall, the space was beautiful and clean. Organized and well planned out exhibits. Even their museums gift shop was really beautiful and had such a nice selection of items that aren’t all cheap-looking & boring. Their art book selection was amazing and some of the best I’ve seen. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Montreal!

The museum has been in my top five highlights of my visit to Canada. I love visiting museums and exhibitions as I feel they help me learn something about the world, and I was not disappointed in any way by the current exhibitions that show Colombian tribal culture and cultures around the world from roman to first nations influence...this place is a cornucopia of endless fascination and delights. Whither you appreciate pop art or classical art, the museum is for you, I couldn't recommend this place enough, and the few photos I managed to capture don't do it justice. It's spectacular. I was extra honoured to see some scotrish works in the collection, and it might make me biased, but it made me feel like I was at home, so thank you to the curators. ❤️

Spent almost 5 hours wondering around this place. It’s one of my top favorite museums around the world. I loved the exhibitions going on and the variety of art. The seatings and couches throughout was amazing. So inviting and they want you to sit and contemplate the art. I love it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back soon because I didn’t even get to see it all.

This is a huge spacious museum consisting of 5 pavilions all connected underground. It features Canadian as well as international artists. It has more impressionist paintings than most museums. The Arts of One World display is very interesting. One day is not enough to see everything!!!

The staff, the cleanliness, the ticket prices and the overall collection of authentic art was ALL worth the trip. You're not going to find this kind of variety in too many places throughout the world. No video recording and no flash photos - respect the rules and take photos (without flash) with respect. There is a cafe on site - they WILL check your bag, so don't get offended. Outside drinks are not okay.

Pour un vendredi après-midi c'était plutôt calme, avec de l'espace pour marcher sans embêter personne. Un après-midi n'est pas asser pour tout visiter, j'ai dû couper ma visite à la fermeture du musée mais l'expérience est vraiment bien! Le meilleur pour moi est le pavillon où on traverse les époques avec les étages. C'était plutôt court mais très agréable! Loved the tour. Think guide was Mary who took us round through Flemish art. Very knowledgeable and kind. Leave time to stroll around a bit after. Food closes at 3 fyi. Eating late meant food wasn't too great. Very helpful staff.

An excellent museum in many ways, and worth a visit for sure.. One thing though; the museum actually asks you to write how to help preserve the planet in one of its exhibitions BUT yet, when you go to the café and ask for a milk that isn’t from a cow (the dairy / meat industry is a HUGE cause of environmental damage never mind being utterly cruel to its core) they tell you they don’t have any other than cows milk. Serving any of the wonderful sustainable alternatives for cows milk is so easy to do, and it would be fantastic to see the museum actually DO more to aid sustainability than just virtue signal it….

A beautiful museum full of all kinds of art from all eras of human history. Definitely worth a trip if you're visiting the city. It's a mainstay for school trips and family outings in Montreal, for good reason. The museum also holds lots of activities for artists aged 1-100.

Love my visit to this museum. Their admission, service etc is very smooth and fluid. Kids until age of 21 i think can visit for free. We came here on saturday and spent the day going to each floor to explore the various exhibitions they currently have. Toilet is avail at every floor, its clean and proper. The building itself is very pretty and bien-fait. I recommend.

It is enormous. So I suggest you work out which parts will be of most interest so you can pace your visit. We stupidly walked past the museum map at the entrance, which is essential reading. There is a nice bistro inside, which is a neat way to take a break between galleries. And the ticket is valid for the whole day, so you can go outside for a while to get some fresh air and/or something to eat or drink. It seems bizarre to travel from Europe to see a Picasso or some Dutch masters, but they are well presented and well worth seeing.

First time here and it was a pleasant experience. Our server was kind, welcoming and provided helpful information regarding the menu. They specialize in lamb so my partner and I ordered the lamb chops. They were extremely fragrant, flavourful and cooked perfectly. The vegetables that came with it were a little underwhelming. Although the lamb chops were delicious, I honestly preferred the entrees: fried calamari, escargots and bone marrow. Overall, worth a try! The cozy-intimate ambiance is a plus.

Came here for the first time last month (October) and had a pleasant experience. The restaurant has a very cozy and vintage feel to it, which is nice. It also offers a live jazz band on the other side of the restaurant which was really cool! The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The garlic snails were scrumptious (highly recommend)!! The pastas were good but the fried calamari was okay. It wasn’t the best. This is a nice place for dinner with friends or date night.

Semi formal environment; great occasion for anyone from dates, hangs, or just a beer. Food met the expectations and prepared a near perfect steak. The strip loin was slightly undercooked in some spots and a touch too much pepper, but didn’t take away from the overall positive taste. Drinks were generous and flavorful. Our server put his best foot forward and successfully assisted us with recommendations with minimal knowledge of our preferences. His presence was not overbearing and not absent. I did think the music was a touch loud for my taste. Although we were in the room of the live music.

We stopped in for a glass of wine one lunch time and just had to come back. Lorenzo was an amazing host during that visit. We came back for dinner a few days later and were certainly glad we did. Lorenzo was not working, but Patrice did not disappoint. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. Good wine, good food, good company and a fantastic venue. It could not have been a better evening. The value here is outstanding compared to other places we ate in Montreal. I highly recommend.

Set aside and the newly built patio. The vibe was great. The service was excellent. Such a nice spot to grab a beer. However, the food was just so so. The brunch option seemed really interesting like the duck patina, the duck croque monsieur. But the duck was over cook dry and tough and the flavors just weren’t there.

I am a little late for this review, but better late than never: We hosted our family Christmas party here and it was by far the BEST Christmas EVER!!!! Everything was set to please. Food was decent, venue was nice, atmosphere was AMAZING, the music was festive, the price was honest and the service was absolutely exceptional! We had such a wonderful and memorable Christmas! THANK YOU! I highly recommend this restaurant for your Christmas parties!

Went for lunch, and it was a great experience. Good food and great service. There was a singer when we were there. The ambiance was great. Had the lamb benedict. It was my first time trying one, it was good but it came with no sides, but just on bread. A bit expensive, but everyone loved their meal.

The food was great but I don’t enjoy the dinner very much as the service was not good as expected. We had an early dinner at 5pm. While we were having starter, the female server came a few time to refill the water to check whether we finished the dishes, we don’t understand why so rush while there’s empty tables around. While my husband was paying the bill with the machine, I could see she stand behind him and keep staring at the machine to check what the tip was. We are tourists and that’s was our last meal in Montreal. Honestly feel uncomfortable to be served by her.

Had a great time at Modavie on a Sunday evening. There was live music and the service was very friendly! Had a delicious French Chardonnay, escargot and for our mains salmon and octopus pasta both very delicious. Would definitely recommend to check it out as they have live entertainment daily, there’s also an area with no music if you prefer that 😉

My wife and I had a great dining experience here. Even though we made our dinner reservation late in the afternoon, they were still able to accommodate us for the evening — and even gave us a window seat in the second floor where one of the live musical entertainment was. Lamb was their specialty and one of my favourite mains, so I went for the lamb chops. They were grilled to perfection and plated on top of potatoes, carrots, asparagus, broccoli and cauliflower. Highly recommended.

An exquisite experience located in the heart of Montreal. The service was professional, the atmosphere was chic, and the food was delicious. The upstairs tables/atmosphere is significantly cozier and romantic, especially with live music. I ordered the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. Another guest in my party ordered the beef tartar, which was again delicious. A perfect night out in a restaurant that transports you to France. Loved it!

Fantastic live music. One of the reasons we decided to come out here. Ambiance is historic and feels like old Europe, it's charming and pretty romantic. Dishes were well presented, promptly served but the entrees were just okay. It was a set menu with good choices but the portions were a little too small and one salad wasn’t anything special. The prices were reasonable given that there was live entertainment included. It’s a great place to enjoy an evening with friends.

The hype is real, y’all!! You can get so many different types of poutine here, so rest assured that there is something for everyone. The service was exceptional as well. Could not have asked for a better experience. Best comfort food in town. I must add that the wait time was not long at all and they play really nice music as well. It seems like they have an outdoor patio too but it was closed during our visit. Would love to check it out next time I’m in the area.

Hands down, the best poutinerie! I feel like they are crafting art. When I can't tell where the fries end and the meat begins, they have really crafted something special. This place is always busy, but the staff are always calm and relaxed. They definitely have good systems in place here. I've been here 3 times now, and it's a must visit whenever I am in Montreal.

La Banquise is a must for a visit to Montreal. They have a lot of variety of poutines. All are good and delicious especially the options with smoked meat. 😋 Portions are MASSIVE. However, when I placed a to-go order it was a 45 min wait, and perhaps close to an hour and half wait to eat inside. For this reason, I do not have the desire to revisit La Banquise due to their tiring wait times but when I went, I enjoyed my meal.

There was a long line but tables for 2 get in faster. I tried the poutine with pickles and ground beef and loveddd it! I didn’t know what to expect the pickle to taste like but it all was great together. I’d say it’s a must try when in Montreal!

The gravy and cheese curds were delicious. Lots of options if you like crazy combos. I stuck with the classique. I personally like my fries a little more crispy. But, the whole vibe was cool and the service was great. Luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table. Was happy to be able to get a beer (didn’t expect that). I can see why this would be a popular late night spot.

I came here because I’ve read that they make the best poutine in town. To be honest I liked it very much, but I would have preferred a bit more gravy with the potatoes. The portions are huge and I consider that one regular size is more than enough for one person. There is a big variety of poutine in the menu and making a choice can be a difficult task. There was a line, but it moved relatively fast on a Wednesday evening. On the terrace they do not serve alcohol so make sure you ask for a table inside in case you want to have a beer. What I didn’t like was the waiting tome for the food. We ordered 3 portions of poutine and it took them like 30 minutes to bring it to us. There is also a vegetarian option.

One of the craziest poutine I have ever ordered in my entire life. they have a big menu of different choice of protein you can on top of your fries. there are 2 lines for Dine in and take out. The Dine in lines is going fast, so if you want to eat inside you can. Definitely recommend it

I must say, I visited this location as a tourist. My opinions may vary from the locals but I found the poutine delicious. The portions are very generous, and each part of the poutine is made well. The gravy is flavourful and not too salty. The cheese curds squeak delightfully. Interestingly enough, the fries are unsalted. I liked it though, because it prevented the whole situation from becoming too salty. Someday, if I come back to Montreal I’ll visit again. They’ve got enough menu options to try a new type each time.

There’s always a line outside la Banquise and people claim to wait hours in line and inside to get their food. Best time to go there is in morning when they open their doors. You’re likely to get seated fast and get your food fast before the crowd gets in. We got two different poutines and smoked meat sandwich and they were delicious (definitely not average as many reviews claim). Only complain I have about the poutine is maybe they could’ve added bit more cheese curds. The fries were excellent, gravy as well. 4/5 Smoked meat sandwich was very good and certainly satisfied my craving for the day. 4/5 Service was fast, friendly and efficient. 4/5 Even though it’s known to be a tourist trap, I would definitely recommend it to try

For once the line wasn't too long so we tried it for the first time. Every table was occupied so I was surprised at how quickly the meals came out. The server was on his game and the host was never without a smile. I ordered the Chevre burger and It was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. The atmosphere is super casual and fun. Every inch of available floor space is taken by seating so be prepared to be in close quarters. We'll def be back.

Good and delicious food. Poutines are really good and so are the burgers. We ordered a vegetarian option and it was too yummy. My wife liked the veg burger. The ambience is good. They have an ATM machine inside. Sometimes they have a long queue too, so plan accordingly.

One of Montreal’s finest restaurants with a great fine dining experience. Great food in an amazing atmosphere with a culinary journey to experience. The wait staff are attentive and friendly whilst giving you all the space to enjoy an unforgettable meal. The food itself shows the love put into it from the kitchen and tastes absolutely delicious. The presentation of everything is impeccable without being over the top. Highly recommend for any occasion such as a romantic date or important business dinner.

Dining at Jerome Ferrer Europea was one of "the things I should do before I die". We had a wonderful "dream come true" experience for our dinner started with a welcome note from the Chef. We choose the Birthday menu from a waxed sealed letter. We certainly thought we were so lucky to find the best deal in this 3-Michelin-star worthy restaurant. The talented Chef and his attentive staff magically turned the dining into a fairy show and made us feel we were so special. The food was very delicious with beautiful plating. The 8 course gastronomic dinner started with pieces of beef jerky with gold flex hang on transparent branches, blue crackers in a garden rock, gathered some dry green leaves cheese on petite gravels. On another plate, the thick fog gradually disappeared to reveal the white sea shelves. All those with soup in grilled onion were the 1st course. We could not describe enough our full of surprise of all the amazing dishes from beginning to the last dessert. We were overwhelmed by the thank you note that was brought to the table in a wooden box, full of coffee beans with chocolate on the top. We also brought home very cute chocolate boxes with the restaurant logo as gifts from the Chef. Thanks to Jerome Ferrer restaurant for giving us a chance to enjoy the extraordinary dinner and memorable experience! Strongly recommended to all food adventurers!

I’ve been here a few times now. The first time the service was subpar: the waiter was a bit arrogant and we felt rushed throughout our meal. The food was good, but we were definitely not impressed. We went back a second time to see if our first experience was a fluke. A different person waited our table this time and the entire experience was exquisite this time! Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, savoury and perfectly portioned. The waitress was charming, attentive and very professional. We were so happy we went back and didn’t stay with our first impression. Well worth the extra money: I highly recommend this restaurant!

The overall experience was excellent. We took the 8 courses meal. Everything that we ate were delicious. The service was very fast and the staff were very friendly. Special shout-out to the cappuccino lobster.

This may have been the most expensive restaurants i ever ate in. Chef Jerome Ferrer puts on quite a spectacular food show. His creativity in plating and pairing food is Michelin star worthy. A 10 course pre fix was way more food than i ever ate at one setting. One surprise after another unfolded with each course. The chefs wine collection was worth the upgrade. Excellent choices. I savored each sip. Three hours later we wrapped up what was definitely a check mark on our bucket list. Thank you to the highly skilled servers.

Very nice place to have a fancy dinner for special occasions. Food, service and experience were near perfect. It is a pricey dinner for 8 or 10 services but it is worth it for special occasions.

We went on April 23rd and had such a delightful time..The amuse-bouche was so wonderful and creative way to start the experience. The food is delicious and the presentation is gorgeous. The entire staff is so friendly and kind, especially Louis. It was our first time visiting, and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to Montréal.

Received a warm note from chef upon arrival, the experience during appetizers period was great but a little bit overwhelming tho because multiple dishes were served all at once. The lobster was delicious and fresh. It’s also a fair price given the portion and the taste. Overall we had a wonderful dinner

One of the best culinary experiences we ever had, food was exceptional, artistically well thought out. This was as much a meal as it was an experience. It was even more incredible that they actually have a kids full experience, so we had our 7 year old son with us, and he came along for the ride, and he loved every bit of it. This isn't for the faint hearted when it comes to pay the bill, as this is on the upper highest tier of restaurants. Well worth every penny.

Fantastic vibes and ambiance. Very lively atmosphere. Live band playing Jazz music, surrounded by the beautiful terrace. The whole front wall seemed to be the facade from a previous structure which gives it an amazing feeling. Great customer service. Our server Victoria was very friendly and attentive. We tried many food on the menu with a party of 9. They served warm and were very delicious. Jardin Nelson offers lots of comfort food options. Definitely worth the wait and visit. Will definitely come back when I visit Montreal next time.

Came for lunch and we were very pleased with our food. Service was excellent. We had someone who had quite a few allergies, it was very helpful that they had a list of all the allergens which made it easy for us to order. I had the seafood crepe and it was delicious.

We came here and saw the line. We figured it's going to be long wait looking at the lines but fortunately with only 2 people, we were able to get a table in minutes. The French onion didn't disappoint. Good flavor, not too salty, great cheese flavor. I would hope it's slightly more baked then the cheese flavor and aroma will even be better. Honestly, the pizza was ok. The drinks was good. Didn't order enough

[FOOD POISONING] 2022-05-11 : I had a wonderful time here at Jardin Nelson, our waitress was super friendly and courteous, we sat inside the “garden” where it was shaded and cool. Unfortunately, all of this went badly when I had food poisoning later in the day. The only thing I ate was a toast at 7h30am and we came here for lunch towards 14h00. The cocktails were nice, refreshing and well made (nicr amount of alcohol). I ordered the maple BBQ ribs and they were tasty, but I was bloated right after I finished the plate. I didn’t notice anything immediately after the meal but when I got home, I started feeling nausea and had liquid diarrhea, so it’s a shame. It’s nice under their canopy and “garden” because there is live music being played by musicians. I would recommend you come here for your 5@7 with your coworkers after work or just to have a drink to escape the hot afternoon sun when you're visiting the old port, but not to eat because I don't trust the food. Overall, it’s a good place and I would like to give it a 2nd chance. However, for now, I will give it 3 stars.

Ambiance is amazing. Live band playing music, birds chirping and the greenery on the feature wall with charming old windows. Crepes are delicious, lots of comfort food options. Pudding chômeur is delicious and a must have local dessert. Waiter had told us it’s a family recipe from the owner’s mother. Definitely worth the wait. Very lively atmosphere and all positive vibes

This is a place that is about the experience, not just a place to eat. There's a wait to get in, but the restaurant is huge, so it has a fast turnover. Couples get in faster than 3+. They don't take reservations either. The inner courtyard is amazing, the food and service were good, and the jazz band was excellent!

We had a lovely lunch at Jardin Nelson! Such a beautiful & unique restaurant! The menu is ample with a variety of beverages, appetizers, mains & desserts. The service was very good! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly! It’s a great place to have lunch or dinner. I highly recommend it!!

Excellent experience overall. Made reservations for lunch. We were welcomed at the front and directed to the host table where we were seated right away. The atmosphere was pretty cool and the jazz duo played some great tunes. Really enjoyed their Beatles set. Our server was great. Made a few suggestions that we went with (crepe and pizza). Very friendly and checked up on us just the right amount of times. Food was really good. My daughter, who doesn’t eat pizza often, really like her smoked salmon pizza. The chicken crepe (Diva) I had was delicious. Highly recommend trying this place out.

Wonderful atmosphere! From the old buildings surrounding a secluded courtyard, to the live jazz musicians... so unique! Our server was very confident, helpful, and supportive throughout our meal, and the food was SO good. We weren't expecting a restaurant with such an expansive menu to pull things off that well. My favourite was the bruschetta for sure. Thank you Jardin Nelson, we'll be back! ♥️

Absolutely loved this place. There was a long queue when we got there for dinner with our two kids but the line went really fast. We got a beautiful table upstairs. The live jazz music just added to the beautiful atmosphere. You are surrounded by a beautiful garden. The service was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable and very attentive. My kids had pizza, I had the smoked meat crepe (it is a lot of meat) so I ended up taking some of it out. My kids had pizzas which were also very delicious and my husband had the chicken sandwich. We were all pleased with our choices. I had a spicy margarita (not on menu) and it was to die for. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Montreal and looking for a nice place to have dinner in Old Montreal. Very kid friendly as well.

If you’re ready to treat yourself to a good night out, Gibbys is the place. For a while now, i wanted to try it out. I finally crack and take a reservation. I would suggest to book early on if you are planning to dine on a weekend. It was my first time there and service was perfect. The waitress gave me and my friend a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable. She gave us a lot of her favorite combo as we were first timer there. The ambiance is very classy and chic. I ordered the oysters Rockefeller, Sirloin steak and a dessert. Everything came out perfect. The cheese sauce that accompanied the salad was excellent. The steak is one of best quality I’ve had so far in a restaurant. Overall, Gibbys is a must and a classic place to try for a special occasion:)))

Gibby's has been around for a long time, and for good reason. I grew up in Montreal and frequently visited with my family. Recently returned there with my fiance, and it's still as amazing as I remember. It's a must go every time I'm in town. Their steaks are always perfection and you can't beat fresh east coast oysters, but the one item I always get every time I'm there is their jalapeno sirloin sausages.

Excellent steakhouse in old Montréal! Service was phenomenal, food was fantastic! The bar is able to whip up any cocktails by request as long as they have the ingredients. The only minor nit is that the tables are a bit close together. It's rather understandable given the popularity. Would definitely consider going back next time I'm in town!

We had to ensure we had dinner here during our visit to Old Montreal in January 2023. So many people had recommended this to us. It was within walking distance for us from our Hotel, so as we strolled through the beautiful snow covered streets with the sun shinning down on us we found it! Incredible stone work and unique design from past years. Our dinner was fantastic and the service was perfect. It felt so warm and cozy yet so elegant as we enjoyed our evening here. Recommend a dinner here for sure!

Food is always amazing. No matter what I get on the menu I am never disappointed. This is hands down my fave restaurant. The staff is always friendly and professional. Absolutely worth every cent.

This was probably the best Beef Wellington I’ve ever had in my life. The Oyster Rockefeller was quite delectable too. The chocolate was so rich in their cake as well. You can tell they really put a lot of thought into every small detail of the restaurant. The ambiance is nice and quaint. The service was impeccable too. 10-10-10s across the board!

Gibbys is an excellent steakhouse! It was seriously amazing! The food was delicious - and I mean seriously delicious - from the steak itself to the amazing side dishes like the bread, salad, and pickles. It was all so good that we have to remind ourselves that we need to save room for the main course. The staff were so attentive and friendly, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. The vibe was super chill and relaxing, which made it perfect for our group party. We love going there, and we always have an amazing time! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great steakhouse experience. Oh, and a little tip - if you're celebrating your birthday, definitely let them know - they'll give you a whole cake on the house and even take a photo and print it out for you! Although I will say, the camera was a little old and could use some improvement there. But hey, free cake and a photo? I'm not complaining! The only other thing I have to mention is that the portions are huge - like, seriously huge. I'm a pretty normal person and I couldn't even finish my meal! But again, that's hardly a complaint when the food is so delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone looking for excellent service, amazing food, and a chill atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

It was our 4th time having dinner and we still got surprisedly great impression. Delicious food no questions. Nice people and service. Good portion. Valet parking, a big plus. Cannot wait to come back again!

The steak here is fantastic! The sear is great and the seasoning is perfect. I was surprised at how few pieces of asparagus came with the meal, but it was cooked well with a nice bit of crunch. I also appreciate that they give you bowls of bacon to top your baked potato. Service was slow, but we got great food at an excellent price.

Fancy ambiance and valet parking. Prices went up 10$ each plate due to covid. waiters/waitresses seem to enjoy their job and jump into smalltalk and jokes. Makes me feel welcome!

Went for dinner with my mother. The ambience and the decorations were amazing. The waitresses was very kind and attentive. All the food were superb. I loved the beef wellington, it was so mouth watering. It is pricey but it so worth going there at least once.
