Love it! My experience was amazing. The weather was perfect, lotts to do. We already have been to the aquarium. Decided to have fun with other activities. Treasure hunt was fun, its more for kids tho. But we enjoyed it. Had lunch at La Bahia Mexican restaraunt on Lighthouse. Food was delicious!

Always love this aquarium! Been going here ever since I was a kid and it always is a fun place to be. The aquarium is rescue and rehab focused and is also promoting conservation efforts for the local area (which is great!). Even as an adult the touch pools are fun to see and learn at, as the jellies are always a joy to watch pulse around the calming waters. If you can, I would always recommend that you try to check the aquarium out! It's also not too big, so if you only have a couple hours you could still manage to see everything quickly.

If you are going to make your way to Monterey, definitely do the Aquarium. One of the finer ones I have seen and very well managed and maintained. The displays and exhibits are well designed and the variety of aqua life is mesmerizing. Great for families and kids and something to do and learn from all the variety. A few options touch pool like experiences. It is located on the historic Cannery Row area so lots to do around there as well. Definite place to visit and take in.

It was an amazing experience. Beautiful aquariums throughout. The sea otters, penguins, puffers, and seaweed/kelp displays are really interesting to watch. There is so much to see and do. The wildlife is well taken care of. There is a beautiful view of the ocean as well.

The visit to the aquarium is worth it, every time you visit. This time was special as I was spending a daddy daughter day special visit on my birthday. 😊 The weekend crowd required a 15 minute wait in the queue which moved at a reasonable pace. There is a faster queue if you have the vaccine details uploaded to the Clear App. Once inside, it's a wonderful world of marine life. The jelly fish exhibits are mesmerizing and don't forget to visit the penguins and the otters. The shows in the auditorium are short, informative and entertaining.

A fun experience for the entire family! We went on a weekday so it was really quick to get inside. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the exhibits are beautiful to watch. There are three floors in total, with exhibits on each floor, an auditorium, a cafe with reasonably priced food options, clean restrooms and lots of kid focused activities. You’ll need at least a couple of hours to go through all the exhibits. I definitely recommend the aquarium as a fun family activity to do in Monterey. They’re rescue focused and big on preserving ocean life, which is just amazing!

Great place for the family. Lots of exhibits to see such as the jellyfish, sea otters, penguins, exotic fishes, crabs, small sharks, tuna, sea ray. You can sit in the auditorium and catch an educational show. They have different activities during the day. The cafe has good food. Clean bathrooms. Parking is fairly easy.

Having been a family charter member since it first opened, I’ve seen many changes over the decades. Fundamentally the same though as it’s an incredible place to come with family and friends. Price has definitely gone up, but that’s what keeps it going strong. A corner stone for the tourism industry in the area, it provides a stable economic contribution to the region. I used to bring my young kids all the time and they loved it. I always enjoyed bringing my camera to shoot the aquatic life close up. Now, I usually just escort visitors when in town. If it’s your first time here though….. it’s definitely worth a trip!

Pricey but lots to do and see. We all enjoyed our time at the aquarium, all ages. I like how tranquil it was, the music is a great touch. Exhibits were clean and well taken care of. Could definitely spend all day there. If you have little ones, the splash zone is a great place for them.

A beautiful aquarium with majestic views of Monterey Bay. There are several exhibits throughout the whole area encompassing 3 floors. The Kelp forest and otters are the two main attractions. I took the time to sit in on one of the free 15 min videos presented in their auditorium. This is a great place for little children. Many special exhibits are designed especially for kids to play with and adventure around in. Some exhibits made me wish I was a little kid because I was much too tall to fit in some of these. There are a couple of places where one is allowed to reach in to touch and feel the animals. They have a large cafe with excellent choices for grabbing lunch at a reasonable cost. There is also a coffee bar where one can buy coffee or espresso drinks for under $5. Keep in mind parking will come at a premium with many all day spots nearby for $15. I really enjoyed myself and glad for all they do there for the preservation of ocean life. It is a great place to build awareness of the wonders of the marine world and our need to conserve them.

This is an absolute must-do! We went on a Sunday morning and there was a long line that wrapped around the building, but we were in the aquarium within ten to fifteen minutes. The exhibits are so informational and beautiful. The staff/volunteers are SO friendly and fun to chat with! Definitely ask them about the exhibits because they have lots of information to share! We started the day off with the 11am feeding which was so fun because we got to see lots of fish right at the start. With the exhibits, you can really get up close, which is awesome! Their Into the Deep exhibit is fascinating.

this place is genuinely gorgeous. I loved all the interactive exhibits. seeing the moray eels and the octopi were definitely a highlight. I wish the adult tickets were a bit less pricey ($60) but it was worth it for the experience. we spent about 3 hours here. would definitely come back again!!

This aquarium is amazing! I went with my brother and my two kids. We arrived around 12:30pm on a Monday and there was no wait to get in. It’s very clean and the animals are well taken care of. My favorite animals to see were the otters, hammerhead sharks and the penguins. Being able to touch and interact with the bat rays was an awesome and unique experience. If you have the chance to go I definitely can’t recommend it enough! I can’t wait to go again.

We visit weekend and it is crowded! But thanks to other reviewers, we reached early and right at the opening so entry queue was not that long. I highly recommend checking out the feeding times/shows at the aquarium. They are worth seeing! Highly recommend for kids 😊😊 the place were full of them and it was lovely to see them enjoy! Now price : I find the aquarium a bit pricey compared to others but still it is definitely worth visiting (May be one time for couples ☺️) The Monterey is beautiful! You could see the beautiful ocean from the aquarium deck. Cost approx $60/adult. The aquarium also has a caffe and restaurant but by afternoon it is bit crowded as expected with families with young kids. We chose to eat outside ! Last but not the least a big shout out to all the volunteers and the staff working there. They were all amazing! Thank you

Old Fisherman’s wharf is a popular tourist attraction. went there on a weekday and there are few people. Before the pandemic it used to serve free clam chowder to entice customers to dine in. Nowadays there are less people and some of the big seafood restaurants are now closed. Luckily, the Old Fishermans grotto is till open where you can get the famous clam chowder. Overall the old fisherman’s wharf is still a good place to visit.

We took a whale 🐋 watching tour from Fishermen's Wharf and it was great! We rode out for about 1.5 hours and finally saw a couple of whales in the distance, then rode as close as allowed and just sat and watched. Pretty soon, we started seeing more and more whales! They all stayed within sight, and we ended up with about 15 whales around us. It was amazing!! One even surfaced about 30 feet from the boat 🚢 but I wasn't ready for the photo. I got lots of photos of tails and dorsal fins.

The place has some good seafood restaurants. But many are closed for renovations. Seals are found throughout the year. Well maintained walk and bike ways. Parking is free for the first hour.

Monterey Harbor awesome way to end a fabulous trip. Well worth the trip from the Sea Goddess. Great views. Delicious food and sea lions for entertainment. Fantastic end to a great trip. Earlier in the week got to meet family we were not aware existed, discovery of 8 nieces and nephews. Such an exiting trip for my 90 year old young Dad. One amazing man deserving of this awesome and amazing trip. FAMILY!!!!❤

This was a fun place to walk around. Our initial plan was visit a restaurant here for a quick brunch, but when we came to this wharf, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere here. My husband even said this place is unexpectedly pretty and fantastic. We ended up trolling around the area.

The area is quite tourist oriented, but the walking, biking and running trail is excellent. Parking close is a challenge with pretty good parking a few blocks away. I hear it is a great whale watching launching point.

I have the sense that The Old Fisherman’s Wharf is struggling post pandemic and with inflation. My husband (who usually abhors tourist traps) has enjoyed it in the past so wanted to bring me for the first time in September 2022. A quarter of the store fronts were boarded up and pricing on the food was incredibly steep, even at grab and go style spots. We scrolled through reviews for the restaurants on the wharf and did not think any of them seemed worth spending the money they were charging. I do think that if we had been more in the mood for a tourist trap and feeling spendthrift our experience would have been different. Saw some gorgeous views available from within the restaurants and certainly seafood here would be 👌👌👌. Will update my review if we find ourselves here again. We did enjoy the salt water taffy we picked up on our way out from one of the candy stores that sold it individually rather than in $15 bags. We stayed less than twenty minutes. Should note that the sea lions piled up on the shore right at the entrance to the wharf were a delight. We stood watching them nap, clamour over each other and brawl a bit for probably a half hour. We smiled as wide and laughed as hard as the kids who were also transfixed.

I liked the nostalgic atmosphere and not too many crowds. Lots of good clam chowder stores and souvenir shops. We also saw sea lions and seagulls.

This is a beautiful park. The park has many different things for the kids to play with. There were swings, slides, small maze and other jungle type gyms to run around in. The park resides next to a small lake that almost surrounds around the whole park. My 2 year old daugther loved this park and was upset when we left. This is a park perfect for all ages of kids.

Great playground! Has a gate and it says it doesn't open until 10. They opened the gate around 9:15. You can tell the playground is older and still a lot of fun. It is well taken care of, there were people in there fixing things before they opened the gates.

We visited Monterey for the day and on the way into town my kids noticed this park from the road. I’m glad we stopped to check out this park because my kids ended up having so much fun. There was a lot for them to explore and quite a few structures for them to play on. The park was nice and well kept and everyone played nicely. We will definitely stop here again next time we’re in town.

A huge outdoor area with a large variety of unique and interesting playground equipment. There's a bouldering wall and roller slide. Almost everything is handicap and stroller accessible as well. Keep an eye on your kids as there is a lot of space here for them to roam!

A large and very fun playground with lots to do and explore. There are some unique aspects too not often seen other places: a roller slide (a little too bumpy for this grownup), a huge merry go round, a very tall slide, a suspension bridge, a rock wall, and even a train engine (though sadly you can’t play on it. Our kids had a great time for hours over multiple visits. There’s a small pond nearby where you can rent paddle boats (some are shaped like dragons, others as ducks and swans, super fun, $25-$40/hour depending on type of water fowl). There’s also a skatepark Nextdoor, what a blast.

One of the best playgrounds we’ve been to. It’s huge and very popular with a climbing wall, bridge, and multiple play structures. It’s also located near a pond where you can rent pedal boats by the 1/2 hour. There no sand in this playground, but instead there are wood chips. Great for a wide range of ages.

My 3 girls had a blast there yesterday. I wish we had a park like that over here in the central valley. Snack bar at the entrance sells good food. It's a great park to visit if you have kids. Definitely recommend this place.

A good place to stop by and walk around. Not as much to see as Carmel or the 17 mile drive, but it’s worth stopping by. The bougainvillea flowers were gorgeous!!

Good to see a cross-section of characters through the history of Monterrey. Would be great to have a smartphone-based audio narration that a person could listen to that describes the people depicted in the monument. The area is a nice place to sit and enjoy the sunshine and see the bay.

The platters we ordered was delicious and plentiful for two. But I have to give only 4/5 because the crab was not fresh and was so dry that you might think it was old and had been frozen. Cocktails were awesome and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the view out the window! Staff were super friendly.

Location, location, location. Eating on the patio is the way to go. You get excellent views of the bay and the cove. The food was decent for a tourist-y location, but you can find better clam chowder and seafood down the road in Moss Landing and on the wharf (and for less $$). Expect to pay higher prices due to the tourist-y vibe. I had the snapper sandwich, which was ok. Service also left a bit to be desired.

We had seen the restaurant but hadn’t visited until this trip. We got there at about 5pm on Friday and were taken right to a table overlooking the beach and shore. Our food was excellent as you can see from the pictures. I had the spicy prawn pasta, my wife had the seafood linguine and her mom had the Parmesan crusted chicken and all were fantastic. Toward the end we also had a visitor..

Our family visited this place for lunch and had a great experience. The view was stunning, and the food was delicious. The service was 10/10, and our server was very attentive and kind. We splurged and got the Platter for two entrees. It was delicious. It does come with an excellent variety for the price. The stuffed crab mushrooms are a must. The Spicy Shrimp Scampi & Pasta Isabella were also tasty.

We came for our Anniversary Dinner. Being careful of crowds Bec of Covid n we are Seniors. We came 3 yrs ago with friends n remember the great food n the Ambiance. Came a little early, it was quiet, people distancing, chose a table by the window with a beautiful view. We were hungry for Seafood Pasta. My Hubby ordered Seafood Pasta Isabella .. shrimp, scallops in rich creamy Sauce. I ordered Spicy Prawn Pasta .. with wild Mushrooms, Spinach, herbs, light Tomato sauce Both dishes were delicious. I had leftovers n thankfully our room has fridge. Delightful evening. Tyler was our Waiter .. friendly n helpful

This place was one of the highlights of our trip. We arrived at around 2:00, so not completely full but definitely still busy. I gingerly asked if we could have a view of the ocean and to our delight we passed table after table full of people only to end up at the very end. The joy!!! It was the most incredible experience eating their fantastic food (I ordered the ciopino and it’s fantastic!!!) while watching sea otters on their backs eating their own meals. Later, as things became less busy they sat another couple next to us across the aisle (room for only two tables at the end) and they were equally delighted. I love that they don’t reserve these table for certain people who are used to it and take it for granted, but just seat anybody lucky enough to arrive at just the right time. In short: yes, the view is spectacular, but the food being equally spectacular is the absolute best! We will return. Oh…and service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and the man who frequently refilled my iced tea was also attentive and friendly. Excellent service.

I was very skeptical about finding a spot here as we went there on a Sunday afternoon. But we didn't have to wait long! The food was great, specially the clam chowder. Moreover, our server was very nice and accommodating. They helped us on deciding what to order and we needed a table beside a charging outlet because our phone was almost dead and they managed to provide us a table beside the outlet. Overall, it was a good experience!

One of the only restaurants on cannery row that I could find take out from a limited outdoor menu. With many delicious items on offer, I was surprised to find grilled salmon with rice and vegetables as an option. Even more surprising was it was delicious. While the indoor dining looked delicious with a beautiful ocean view, time for the ride to the airport was running short. This allowed for a delicious meal in less than 15 minutes prep time and time for eating with a view of the beach without a long time commitment. If their “real” meals are anything like their outdoor quick kitchen I highly recommend trying them out.

The Fish Hopper is a nice restaurant in Monterey, California. The ambient, service, and food are good. I sat in the section which extended into the ocean and the ocean view was amazing. The server, Steve, did good. The Bacon Wrapped Scallop, Broiled Sardines, and King Crab Legs were all good. After hearing the canned fish story about Monterey, I got to try the Sardines. I liked the dessert tray presentation. Well, I picked the bread budding. Yes, I would visit this restaurant again.

A great view sitting on the water with an array of dishes to choose from. About 80% are seafood, so beware if seafood isn’t your thing. Since half of our party loved seafood it was perfect. The clam chowder is very creamy, the portions just right. Desserts beautifully presented and scrumptious! No shortage of staff, always someone there to help.

Absolutely dynamic dining experience. In town for a couple days and this was the first spot we decided to have lunch. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. Food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Eric the manager was attentive as well as a few of the waitresses, Valencia, & Virginia. Thank you guys for a great lunch!

The best seafood I have ever had! The ultimate pasta has a large amount of seafood, and 3 colors of pasta. The service is great! I feel very respected. And the server gave me a rose which made my day. I had a really bad week this week, and this helps me feel much better.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant, thoroughly enjoying the delectable food they served. Luckily, we were seated next to a window, allowing me to relish the breathtaking ocean view accompanied by a stunning sunset. The service provided throughout our meal was truly exceptional, with the staff attending to our needs from the moment we arrived until the end. Personally, I savored the sea bass dish, while my sister delighted in her Halibut selection. Additionally, their clam chowder was a standout item that should not be missed. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that combined delicious cuisine, scenic views, and impeccable service.

Get the garlic bread bowl!!! They add extra crab meat to the chowder and bake the bread bowl with garlic butter!! The pasta dishes are usually great. The calamari batter is light and crisp comes w horseradish and cocktail sauce. The oysters are always fresh. The service is always great here, they are professional and show some love during dinner service with a nice rose.

The gentleman host I think was named Shake? Was a very nice gentleman and got us a table in quick order, the server I think was named Gustavo was a very informative and attentive server who gave us the run down of everything they serve and what is popular and his personal favorites and he did not disappoint. The food was so delicious and well prepared, definitely coming back again. I like the atmosphere and classic 50s music kind of a romantic atmosphere with candlelight and at the end of the dining they give you a rose, how thoughtful, this is a perfect spot for a date with your significant other. To the people who have children this place does not allow children or strollers so just be forewarned this is just for adults. If you have children I would like to eat something similar you can probably go to The fish Hopper down the way they are owned by the same people and the food is fantastic there as well.

Great seafood! Expect to spend at least $50 per person. The view was great and service was good. I would not recommend coming here if you have small children as there is a sign in the front stating that loud or crying children are not allowed. They also don’t accommodate for them either (High chair and etc) I found that to be odd. Great for a nice date night.

The food was better than I expected. The Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection, clam chowder was excellent (on the thicker side) and the pear and Gorgonzola salad was very fresh and used local produce. We could tell ingredients were best of the best. I took a star off for the dated atmosphere - it’s very dark and furniture and carpet feel old. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was timely. Try to get a table on the second floor by the window to have a view of the sea lions playing in the water!

This place is very cozy, romantic and spacious. Our server was very friendly and he recommended the seafood pasta. OMG, this was the best pasta I have ever had in my life! We also tried the clam chowder (definitely a must) and it was delicious as well. We enjoyed the view and at the end of the night the server gave my husband a rose to hand to me :) we had a lovely evening at Old Fisherman's Grotto. Thank you!

The restaurant is on the pier and so you have a good view from almost anywhere in the restaurant. See photos. The service was excellent, Jose being friendly and attentive, even though busy, with a nice warm smile. The food was delicious. The clam chowder was just the way we like it on the thicker side, nicely seasoned, full of clams and not too many potato bits. See photo. The Seafood Linguine Isabella was more food than I expected and not skimpy on the seafood part. See photo.

We came for our anniversary lunch. We were greeted at the door, the host was very welcoming and inviting. Our server was very prompt, professional and answered all our questions. The bus boy was also very prompt and would also ensure proper customer service. The price is well worth it for the quality of food, service and ambiance.

Food was great. Best clam chowder I've ever had. Calamari was cooked perfectly and the garlic bread is phenomenal. The service was on point. I was a bit worried about the sign out front that put a lot of limitations around kids dining at the restaurant but we had no problem with five kids in our party.

Highly recommend outdoor seating when the weather is right - very peaceful watching the water right underneath the tables. Went with the cioppino and gnocchi, which were both delicious. Ceviche wasn't as impactful, and likely you're better off going with a different appetizer. Probably better values for food in Monterey along the ocean, but you're paying for the view. Only real gripe is trying to find the actual entrance. There were multiple points of entry from along the street, but they all led directly to the dining area. Signage was vague about point of entry.

I’ll admit when I am wrong. I won’t eat at hotel restaurants usually or be meticulous about researching them. So when we pulled up to this Ocean-side place I almost went elsewhere. But we were tired from our drive and caved in. Glad we did. The burrata cheese platter was high-lighted with cherries and some great bread. Only suggestion here would be to give us one more wedge of bread ( 2 were not enough ). The large tempura shrimp were juicy and piping hot. Tempura better was great. My kids’ fried chicken sandwich felt homemade and the boys ate these down to an empty plate ( fries also - seasoned well and crispy. ). The drink was some rum, pineapple juice and coconut juice. Perfect for the beach setting. Over all the food was a 5. The service and hostess felt formal and snooty but this place is trying to come off as “high end “ or upscale. The view is phenomenal - so the prices are also a bit steep. I can recommend it but be prepared to foot the bill.

It is very fancy looking place, very good service but the food was okay. The portions was fine but it has no taste. I got lobster rolls and it was salad inside or sandwich. Red hummus pepper and it had a lot of onions. Chicken sandwich was okay, tilapia tacos was okay, It was brewery style food, goes well with a beer. Overall place is fancy, food is okay. If you love good food I would not recommend this place.

The service and view are amazing. The outdoor dining patio is literally over the water. Their clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl is delicious, as is their Mai Tai. Take your server's suggestion on what to order. I should have taken my server's hint that the shrimp pasta dish was heavy and not ordered it. It was a big bowl of doughy pasta with just 3 shrimp sitting on top...for $32! The Oyster Rockefeller were also very expensive for only 6 oysters, and the fennel they add kinda ruined the flavor. Our server recommended the mussels for an appetizer and we should have listened. Stick with what your server recommends, bring lots of money and enjoy the view!

My first time at an ocean view restaurant. It was beautiful. Since I'm a vegetarian I didn't find the menu very interesting (not complaining because the view fixed all the disappointments). Definitely would go again to enjoy their scenic outdoor seating.

I recently visited with my GF Schooners Montery and had an amazing experience! The food was incredibly tasty and delicious. I especially loved the seafood dish - the freshness of the ingredients really made the flavors pop. And don't even get me started on the chocolate dessert - it was super yummy and indulgent. Beyond the food, the price point was very reasonable and affordable for what we got. But the view from the restaurant was absolutely breathtaking - overlooking the ocean made everything even more special. Overall, I highly recommend giving Schonner Monterey a try if you're in the area. You won't regret it! 👌😎🫡😊

Honestly, I was expecting a lot more for the money. The food is okay. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just not special enough to justify the price. The service was fine, but not remarkable. Confusion with the order. Drinks came late. This sort of stuff. Not terrible, but not what you'd expect at the price level. Tokaji was quite excellent for dessert.

I brought my mom there. She is a little bit picky about seafood. She is impressed with the food quality and loves the mussels. Not too pricy considering its nice location. We will come back in the future. P.S. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Based on Google Reviews, we visited Schooner's for a late lunch. We were NOT disappointed. We were promptly seated on the patio and the drinks/food were well-paced and hit the spot! I ordered a Plaza cheeseburger that was cooked exactly as I requested. Scenery, service and quality of food, make this a must stop location.

You’re paying for the view. Amazing fresh oysters, love the vibe. We went during winter so the breeze was chilly but enjoyed the sunset while eating dinner. It’s pricey but food is fresh and do try their oysters. I would definitely recommend this place.

We made a reservation online and requested an outdoor table with a nice view of the bay - they did not disappoint! We were a little nervous about the outdoor seating as the day was pretty chilly but they also had outdoor heat lamps! Food was pretty good, but the parmesan fries ended up being our favorite dish. Friendly and helpful server and the wine spritz was so, so tasty!

Located on the first floor of the Monterey Plaza Hotel, this restaurant is a stunner if you are dressed appropriately for the patio! Although, they can also bring you a blanket if you ask. You might even catch a sea otter enjoying their dinner in the water! 🦦 Food was okay. Started with the ceviche followed by chili but honestly forgettable. Hubs enjoyed seafood pasta. 🍝 I was excited about the lavender crème brûlée but it was meh. Great service though, felt cared for!

A seafood restaurant (part of Monterey Plaza Hotel) with great view and reasonable pricing. Friendly staff, fast service. Food quality is average, some seafood dishes are better missed. We come to Monterey for view and chill time.. this place is perfect for that. Note: bring a jacket and sit at the patio, the view and air are much better than indoor.

Finally had the chance to get this place out as one of the (self-proclaimed) biggest Forrest Gump fans. I liked how the restaurant and menu was themed to fit the movie and whatnot. The location itself was absolutely beautiful, overlooking the ocean. I was fortunate enough to get a window seat and enjoyed the view all evening. As for food, I got the Cajun crab boil. For $35, the price is hard to beat. Alaskan snow crab cluster, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn, all served in a delicious juice for you to enjoy! Service was pretty good. We got what we needed and nothing more. Polite and respectful service, but nothing over-the-top. I'd recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a great dinner with solid views 👌

A fun and tasty place! I ordered the shrimp heaven and absolutely loved the coconut shrimp, so yum! And the strawberry salad was a refresh and perfectly paired with other main dishes we ordered. Service was very friendly. You can join the waitlist from Yelp in advance :)

The BEST chicken sandwich I have ever eaten!!!!! Next time I’ll know to have it with no cheese or bacon. The Bubba Gump sauce on the chicken sandwich took it to another level!!! The homemade Mac n cheese was phenomenal!!! My son added bacon bits to it for you 😋. All the servers were just G-R-E-A-T!!!!! They came to check up on me without having to flip the sign.

Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name, but they came with a bed of cabbage underneath them. If you visit Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., I highly recommend giving these a try. They were delicious and left me wanting more. My sister opted for the Jambalaya, which was tasty overall. She mentioned that it needed a bit more salt, but that was an easy fix with the salt shaker on the table. The flavors were rich, and the combination of ingredients was satisfying. My brother-in-law decided to go for the Forrest Surf and Turf. While the steak was slightly overcharred for his liking, he still enjoyed it and found it to be tasty. I am only giving this place 3 stars for its location and decorations. The food I ordered tasted as if it were a "microwavable" dinner...the broccoli was over cooked. OVER COOKED even a person without teeth can chew it! The food came out VERY slow too, so was the service...In fact, I feel like I'm being generous with the 3 star ratings. I'm just considering A.) Location. B.) Decorations C.) The nice theme. Cons: :( horrible food, and got the service to match it! (Fries were nicely seasoned and freshly cooked - the only bright side)

Came in with pretty low expectations, as this was more of a merchandising experience based on Forest Gump, than a culinary outing (first Bubba Gump ever!). To say the decor is very nice would be an understatement. But it turned out that they're actually having very delicious food here! Portions are gigantic; we should literally have been here with 3 instead of with 2, to be able to finish 4 appetisers. (no entree was ordered, but seeing from the other tables, 1 entree per 2 people a certainly enough !)

First bubba gump experience! Met with good servic, and the food was pretty good! The rice caused my Singaporean blood to boil coz you could feel that this was made in a pot, but otherwise the jambalaya flavours were on point! The pasta was enjoyed too, simple ingredients yet cooked well Favourite dish was the calamari coz their ancho chilli mayo was amazing!!!

I had been here once before but did not enjoy it... decided to give it another try today and I am glad I did. The appetizers arrived before the meal which was great. Our lunch was excellent... especially the clam chowder bread bowl! A good meal albeit expensive. Will be back when we are in Monterey.

We always see Bubba Gump in these seaside tourist areas, but Monterey's is the first one we've dined at. It's about what you'd expect out of a character restaurant. The interior, decorations and merch are all fun if you enjoy Forrest Gump. The food is very okay. Drinks and specials have a nice presentation, but aren't anything to write home about. Service is decent and we never felt neglected. Overall, it wouldn't be our first choice, but might be worth going to if you need to seat a large group.

I've always wanted to try this place since there's always a line outside all the way to the parking lot on weekends and holidays. Finally able to try their lunch so we started off with the calamari starter, the kids had clam chowder on a bowl, wife ordered shrimp pasta, I tried their Father's Day special Seafood with Artichoke pasta. All of them tasted good, our favorite was the calamari and the pastas. We would like to try the dinner menu next time we come back.

Honestly pretty disappointed with our experience here, especially after reading all the good reviews. We ordered the clam chowder, oak grilled oysters, Sicilian holiday pasta, and the special menu's artichoke pasta. The appetizers were our favourite part of the meal. The chowder was tasty, and made us regret getting the cup instead of the bowl. The oak grilled oysters were warm, tender, and had a smoky taste, and I thought they were worth trying. If we had only had the apps, I would've been happy to give 4 stars at least. Unfortunately, we found both pastas to be underwhelming. Both the holiday pasta and the artichoke pasta are seafood medley pastas, with the holiday pasta being more broth-like, and the artichoke pasta more creamy. I thought there was a decent variety of seafood in the pastas, but I wasn't too impressed with the taste/presentation of either. I also thought the artichoke pasta in particular was completely overpriced for what it was. The holiday pasta was the most expensive pasta on the regular menu at $31.95. I think it's reasonable for this pasta to be more expensive than the others given it's the only seafood medley pasta on the regular menu. The artichoke pasta on the other hand was $39.95. And also, because it's a daily special, its price is not listed on the menu. I see no reason why the artichoke pasta would be nearly $10 more than the most expensive pasta on the regular menu, especially when both of them are seafood medleys. Coming from New York, I'm used to seeing high restaurant prices, but I still found the artichoke pasta to be unreasonably overpriced.

The food was delicious!!! I came here with a few buddies on a Friday for dinner and we beat the crowd, very busy. I ordered the Artichoke seafood soup and I really enjoyed the flavors. I Tried the baby octopus, It was ok but had to grow on me. My buddies ordered the crab Ravioli and salmon dinner and they both loved the food. The service was excellent and fast, I didn't have to ask for any refills because there was always someone there to help are table. Excellent food, I will have to come here again.

Went on a Monday night and there was a wait to be seated; it was absolutely worth it. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly, offering many suggestions. The house-made pasta is fantastic and the sauces and seafood that go with it are just as great. The atmosphere is fairly loud and lively. Highly recommended!

Nice seafood restaurant. Away from Monterey downtown. Business is good. Cant make reservations ahead. Need to stay in line. Their dishes taste very light...not too salty or oily.

A Monterey staple! Came here and sat at the bar for dinner. We had the Sicilian Holiday Pasta and the special Scallop and Mushroom Linguine. Both were delicious and good sized portions. The price for the scallops was more than I was expecting, but the amount of food on the dish and the quality made up for it. The wine selection was good and the price for a bottle was well worth it! We will definitely be back again and again!

The Baked Oysters were delicious followed by Very tasty Mussels in a tomato based sauce that was divine. The star of the meal was the Seafood Cioppino. Tasty, savory, delicious do not give enough to explain how this meal ended on such a Happy note fir both my and friend's tummy. Well done will definitely stop by when I return. The service was also very good.

My all time favorite restaurant in Monterey. It’s cozy, quaint and always packed and there’s a very good reason why. They have the freshest seafood and their dishes are remarkably delicious. Love their fresh oysters. My mouth is watering as I write this. Prawns are quite tasty. Shrimp pasta had huge shrimp and so delicious.
