Cool place. Give yourself at least 2 hours. The security staff needs a ton of training. Followed me around, walking in front of me while I’m looking at exhibits, just poorly trained for a nice museum.

Small museum but the price is reflective. Cute outdoor, indoor cafe inside as well with good lattes to relax in safety out of the sun. Excellent artwork for those Botero lovers. Fantastic collection of his sculptures and paintings. No photos allowed inside.

The art at the museum is beautiful, and a lot of the exhibits are translated in English hower none of the staff I interacted with spoke English and the museum is in a very dangerous area. Dress modestly, bring a cheap phone, and brush up on your Spanish. The statues around the plaza are fun to take photos with and the museum itself is full of amazing art with a whole floor dedicated to Fernando Botero, and two more floors with art from various Colombians artists which to me was the highlight. I wasn't able to able to see everything while I was there, I would love to go again. Its also the safest place to be in that area so we recommend using that as a hub to pull out your phones and make calls because otherwise your liable to get your phone stolen out of your hands.

What a great display of paintings and sculptures made by Botero. One can find unique paintings, and surrounding the museum (outside) there are a lot of bronce sculptures. Unfortunately inside the museum, they don't allowed to take pictures.

It’s a quick 10 minute walk from the Jose Maria market as a random fact. The space outside is okie. Fill with vendors and we just want to check out the museum in lpeace. The area could use a good cleaning thou. Beside that, this museum inside is so peaceful and beautiful. Big enough for to explore and yet small enough to finish in a hour or so.

My hometown’s main museum. Our most famous artist is Fernando Botero. He put our country in the art world map. Thanks to him we are known for something different than… (you know what). He has provided an invaluable contribution of his own art pieces, and donated a large selection of artifacts from his own personal collection. Thank you so much, Mr. Botero!

Great museum, the third floor is exclusively dedicated to Botero, and photos were not allowed. If you are in Medellin, it's a must visit!

It is a real treat for yourself to see all these sculptures in one place. You can easily spend hours looking at them, also the buildings and the people passing by.

Statues are very awesome. Have some vendors nearby selling all kinds of things in the park, it does get pretty packed. It isn’t in the best area, I definitely wouldn’t go around nighttime.

Botero is the the most famous artist from Colombia so this is a must visit in Medellin if you like art museums. I am pretty indifferent about art but his style is unique. The plaza itself is vibrant and a good place to photos. It is also easily accessible with a train station. I would spend a couple hours in the plaza + museum combined and give it 3.5 stars.

Sculptures are great. But it's so busy and so much going on that it was hard to really appreciate them. Maybe it was the time of day I went. It was about 3pm... maybe earlier is less busy. 🤔

This eponymous plaza is adorned with large sculptures by world renowned artist Botero. These figures are rotund figures for which he is famous. The Museum of Antiquities which is on the square, devotes the third floor to paintings by Botero.

Great plaza with train access, and lots of cool architecture and sculptures. If you are a tourist, do not explore too far from the plaza. It seems to be in a really sketchy location.

A beautiful square in the middle of downtown Medellin. In the middle of the square you will find large works of art by Boltero, beautiful architecture. The location of this square shows (unfortunately) at the moment how divided the city is. The square is fenced off and 'secured' by police. I recommend not visiting the streets outside the square. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

Beautiful plaza. Love the experience to enjoy Botero’s art. If you visit Medellin, you can not miss this amazing place. This is an important landmark in the city.

Would give it 5 stars if the surrounding areas were nicer and safer. Be careful getting into and out of the plaza.

Medellín is working to improve parks and the neighborhood and this is one step showing it’s working. Beautiful art sculptures in this park. On my visit on 5/7/23, there were police controlled entries to the park strictly because the area is being gentrified. This is a beautiful place to stroll through and enjoy the sights.

Just stunning views and hiking trails. Not very stroller friendly but manageable. The waterfalls and picnic areas are amazing. Remember to breathe in all that fresh air. Like other places, 1000 pesos for the washrooms here as well so bring cash. The little cafe and shops are incredible.

The drive there was with beautiful views of the city. We got in to the botanic garden and did one of the trials to get to the kayaks. Clean air, lots of green over all a great day

One of the best places to visit in Medellin, even if you don't go round the park itself it is worth just taking the cable car ride up there to see the amazing views along the way. The park is free to enter however you can lay $40,000COP if you want to hike round yourself. Worth doing as it is generally a nice gentle walk though the forest with little bits of information on the way explaining what the park is all about and how keeping the forest there does for us. Probably a good hours hike. Good place to bring children as well as there is plenty to do.

Got to see a really interesting side of Parque Arví, which I wouldn’t have been able to see without the help of a local friend. If you take the “free route” which takes you on a sidewalk down the hill a ways, there’s a small café that sells cerveza de cannabis, which is worth the stop. Then you follow a paved road to the forest entrance. In there you’ll find a waterfall and many fire pits and campsites. There’s also a few spots along the river where there are deep pools that you can jump into if you can stand the cold water ;)

I was stunned to see such a wonderful park on top of a mountain. The construction work about 7500 ft above sea level is unreal. So well maintained and so worth seeing it along with the espectacular views from the Metro Cable

It's a great place to have a relaxing afternoon. There are street vendors and homie/cozy restaurants with very yummy foods. Everyone in the area are very friendly . I highly recommend to take the metro cable up the park. It's a nice experience if you are not afraid to heights.

We did a private tour in English with Veronica and it was one of our favorite things in Medellin. The park is absolutely beautiful. Veronica is very knowledgeable and such a great guide. There are excellent little snack spots. We can't wait to go back.

Fantastic welcome point to the national park. Friendly staff and a selection of things to do. Would highly recommend it especially if you are in Medellin. Travel here by cable car for a brilliant experience

Nice park you can take the metro/tram all the way the from Acevedo. Although the last tram will cost you 12.500. Mil pesos each way. Add that on top of the regular metro each way and it a little over 30 mil per person. Didnt stay long so id like to go back and find some trails to hike or go horseback riding..

This place is pure magic! We started taking the metro train all the way to San Javier then we got into the Metro cable and got to see all of the comuna…you are able to go up and down…amazing views then after you get of in San Javier you take a metro bus to the stair of the comuna…then the magic begins. Make sure to stay hydrated and put on some sun screen. You will be all set and ready to enjoy the culture

The transformation that took place at Comuna 13 over the span of 20 years is out of this world. So worth visiting, you will learn a lot of history, enjoy stunning views and be entertained by rap, hip hop music, art, coffee and many other shops.

Magnificent murals and graffiti, outdoor escalators, street hip-hop - such a vibrant neighborhood. Hardly to believe the massive military operations ever happened here. Hope the neighborhood is only getting better and better and can enjoy the peace forever.

Excellent, magnificent piece of local history in a visually rich form. Lots of going on. Felt fairly safe especially during the day.

Best view of the favelas. Take cable car from San Javier, Comuna 13, up to Aurora that's the final station. I recommend to leave the station because just below it there is a supermarket D1 and just in front of it a better viewpoint and even some cement seats 😎

Fantastic views and sites in this colorful, festive community within San Javier in Medellin. Replete with tragic history but also of human spirit and hope as chronicled in the street art.

Hit it 👍🏿! Definitely a must visit. Do it with a tour or on your own. It is very safe and there are so many things to check out.

One of the best place I’ve visited! I am shocked by the organization. Tons of super friendly and very knowledgeable mini guide that will gladly walk you through for free around their sections. Each one have a red polo shirt and each one covers a certain section. I felt like a VIP and they truly love their job and make the whole experience unforgettable! I would give it a 10 stars!!!!

My family came here to spend the day while visiting Medellin last week. Based on the website and YouTube videos, I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew there were the outdoor hands on activities and the aquarium, but I didn’t know about all the other activities upstairs. We spent 5 hours here walking through the outdoor areas, aquarium and all 4 of the themed rooms. We were pleasantly surprised by all the hands on, interactive stations in each section. Each room upstairs is separated into different themes: time, music, mind and “on stage.” Each area had something interesting for both adults and kids. It was a perfect way to spend the day for my 8 year old. The staff was helpful and everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. They helped us understand what each activity was about and the man working down in the aquarium was very informative and nice to speak with. The facilities were clean and well maintained with nothing out of order. The only thing that could be improved upon in my opinion is the food offerings. There are only a few fast food options and nothing looked fresh or well made. Be sure to eat beforehand or bring snacks if you will be there for a long time. For the price we paid (40 mil COP per person) and all the fun we had, it was well worth it. I highly recommend to visit here, especially if you have kids.

Great place to spend the day, it’s a huge museum with interactive exhibits. You can easily spend 4-5 hours there interacting with the exhibits and looking at the aquarium.. There’s also a planetarium which I didn’t like that much, the movie was like 30 minutes long, not with it for me.

Amazing place, hudge amount of attractions for kids and adults. I would recommend to go for a whole day. Especially kids will love it. Many animals to see, big aquarium, amazing explanation of the subject in Spanish and English too. So this is very good for travelers. Quick payment, no queues, very friendly staff. Nice place to spend day out.

Went with three generations of cousins. Exhibits in Spanish with good translations in English. Lunch options are good. Spend the day inside, and then stay and play on the outdoor patio once the sun isn’t so hot. Entries close at 5 or 5:30pm, but the museum is open a whole hour later. Lovely day spent learning and playing. Highly recommend, even without kids- it’s fun!

Parque Explora near the Botanical Gardens is interesting for both children and adults. This is a great place to visit and explore via the many interactive exhibits. Plan on a good 3 hours at the minimum to get the best bang for your buck. The life-sized dinosaur statues are must-see too.

Really good service. The food is really bad though. Asked for a medium rib eye. It was rare. Very tough and chewy steak. Fries that came with it were cold. The salad was just sad. Would not recommend.

La pampa offers decent variety of beef. Food quality I would give it a 7.95. It’s not bad. It’s actually good, but considering it’s an Argentinan restaurant, it’s not no where as good as some other beef places in town. Service wise I would rate it a flat 6. Waiters are respectful but not very attentive and quite rough to answer questions.This location specifically has a very nice terrace with a nice view to plants and green trees. Quite chill.

Restaurant has no core Identity. It's an argentinian meat place with japanese and Peruvian food. It sells different options so they can cater to all types of clientele that comes in. FOOD: Some of the dishes are a local interpretation and not the original recipe. For example: the causa was just a potato salad, not the real thing. Ramen was salty as hell and no chopsticks we're give to eat it. burger looked good but with a overdose of cheddar cheese. PRICES: HIGH for what it's being offered. plates are small and nothing out of the ordinary to pay such prices (similar or better options can be found in restaurants in front of the street at similar or slightly lower prices) SERVICE: by trying to be helpful, they end up being too in four face coming every 5 minutes to ask if you're ready to order and suggesting the pricier plates. Also I DIDNT LIKE the waiter almost force us into leaving a review in tripadvisor. He shared the qr code to give the review but he's on top of you pressuring into leaving a good review (that's how they end up being suggested in the too restaurants in the zone... when, they're not that great) In general I would agree with Other reviews of the place mentioning that the place is overrated and not that incredible.

Very disappointing meal and atmosphere blah. Way overpriced. Steak was not high quality like we are used to in the midwest of USA. How do they get good reviews: well, they came to our table and basically bully you to do a review while they stand over your shoulder. They present it as lets take a picture of you to post with review so we can win a competition with our sister restaurants. Unbelievable. Anyone saying this is not true is an ABSOLUTE liar. These reviews are UNRELIABLE. The end.

We were one of the earliest reservations of the night and were denied to be sat in a well lit area or a few other empty tables. My wife and I could not help but notice the table we wanted sat empty pretty much the entire time we were there. Left a really bad taste in our mouths. The food was good for the price point. Some surprises and delights but nothing I would say wowed. Two people for around $90USD is a fantastic deal that can be enjoyed daily if you were not forced to sit in a dark corner next to the noisy kitchen. Cannot help but felt being placed there due to us being Asian, since a complete stranger who was also Asian (not a lot of Asians here) were sat next to us as well. Don't get the seven leches, it was a terrible way to end the meal. I definitely noticed a trend in this restaurant that if you don't look the part they will treat you like second class citizens. Get dressed up and look like you have money and you will be treated as such. To the restaurant, take it from someone who's collected near triple digit Michelin stars, you probably need to stop doing this type of obvious perceived class discrimination if you ever want a star. And by looking at the other reviews, I'm not the first and probably will not be the last to call you out on this. The hostess you hire needs much better diversity and bias training.

Fabulous tasting menu and wine pairing. The service was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. Both the regular and vegetarian tasting menus were delicious and totally worth the price. They even provided some birthday decorations upon request to surprise one of our guests. Definitely worth a visit while in Medellin.

I loved this experience, excellent service and ambiance, good food as well. You can see the concept they have and this is a lovely place for special occasions. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. I must say I had higher expectations based on the reviews and recommendations, however we had dishes that were either too salty or too bland. None of them were mind-blowing. Also, both the Rose and white wines were not chill (as they should have been). I would be fine with this if it was another place, but not for Carmen, having a sommelier and paying such high prices, this is not a mistake one can pass.

Very nice location. We were here for lunch and got a seat although we had not reserved. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, especially the main course but unfortunately not warm enough. I drank a Sauvignon Blanc with the meal which was very tasty.

The drinks are all super delish, so are the plates. We ordered five different plates and they were all good. The desserts were good too but I would like more options of a complete dessert not like little pieces. The waitress we had was amazing, explained the different elements of the plate and made suggestions. I’ll be going back for sure.

Not that they need another glowing, five star review, but here it is… Carmen is truly world class. You can feel the excitement, passion, dedication, and creativity from the entire team as soon as you walk in. The energy and warmth you feel is truly unique. Very few restaurants continue to innovate and grow once they’ve become famous, Carmen has that feeling of always going further. The night I was there they had visiting bartenders from other Colombian establishments making (quite possibly) the best cocktails I have had in my life. They invited me to join them at the bar and partake in their delicious offerings. My only sadness is that they eventually needed to close and go home. Oh, and the food was perfect!

We spent a week in El Poblado and visited several places for dinner. Got to Carmen without reservation and they have us seated. For us, this was the best experience. We didn't get with the wines so can't comment about it. However our cocktails and food were amazing, our waiter Javier was very good at making recommendations and explaining the magic behind their food and drinks. Great service, great food 200k + CLP per person. Will visit again in the future and highly recommend it.

One of best tasting menu and dining experience I had on this trip. They are on the 50 best restaurant discovery list and I can see why. Beautiful ambience and amazing food. Absolutely delicious and good price too for an tasting menu plus wine pairing. U can expect to pay 3x more if this was in London or new York. Highly recommend this place

The vibe is very good, definitely recommend making a reservation. Appetizers we’re very good the mushroom tartar was delicious and so were the empanadas. As for the main dishes we’re a little disappointed there was missing some refined aspects. The portions were very large we couldn’t finish our mains after all the appetizers we had. I was a little disappointed with the service there was missing some attention from the staff and drinks did take long to come.

Nice Restaurant, moderate price. Stuff was very friendly. Great salsiccia as starter, super tender baby beef. Unfortunately, the chateaubriand was chewy. The prices are a bit higher, but thats still okay for this steakhouse with argentinian beef. There are also seats on the outside in this area which can (and will) get crowded on weekends and the afternoon. Make sure to be on time

Looked for the best restaurant near me and I believe I found it. Excellent ribeye cooked to perfection. Asked to have a dessert and had my host chose for me. OMG ! Delicious.

Was a nice lunch after a long walk on the Comuna 13. The best was the red sangria, and the appetizer was cheese, empanada, and chorizo (the last one was the best). We ordered steaks and I ordered ribs. It was okay, the onion rings had a good taste. Is a good option, the service was really good.

Went for lunch with 6 people the steaks were too small and cooked medium rare chicken millenesa had no flavor Buenos Aires burger for 28,000 pesos was in a small bun.Very disappointed .

This was a let down for me. I didn’t enjoy the ribeye steak as much and they didn’t have any Argentinian beer. It’s also a bit on the pricy side compared to a lot of other options in Medellin. Would I go there basin? No. Would I recommend it, not really but I would say maybe worth a try if you are in the area. But I enjoyed the salad.

So coloreful and everything is so tasty! Beautiful place, very nice people. All the bowls are vegan! And also you can order some vegan bagels and toasts. Ask the water! Even the avocado and mushroom toasted was great! So simple but good!

This is the bowl restaurant of my dreams. Toast and smoothie bowls are really the two dishes I want to eat the most. The dishes tasted extraordinary and were unbelievably beautiful! I love that the smoothie bowl is covered with fruits. I also had a lulo juice that was heavenly! Bring cash as this establishment is cash only.

I have to eat here every time I visit medellin. The staff here is delightful, and when I haven’t been able to go in person, it’s super easy to order via whatsapp and they deliver!! The fresh fruit selection is to die for, and they make killer smoothies and bowls. The star of the show is the chimi bagel and I swear to you it’s the best bagel I’ve ever had in my life. I talk about it all the time and look forward to getting it when I’m in town. Don’t miss this one!

I travel to Medellin frequently, easy to find a coffee shop, BUT Betty's is a step above. The staff and owner Maria are a special group. They take great pride in their food and service. Extremely healthy food, EXCELLENT way to start your day. Fluent English speaking staff also makes it great!. I usually stay close, I go 5-6 times a week. Try their "ginger shot", then cappuccino or their special, unique coffee, check out the photos of the coffee making process.

I like coming here nice staff like Camila and Santiago they’re very accommodating! I like sitting in the back (I think it’s inside the hostel) it’s very calm and relaxing, and away from the road. The açaí was good, big portioned and the price was quite reasonable. Their açaí was sour and watery. I think they’re using very acidic fruits when blending with açaí that’s why the texture is not what it is supposedly. But still good. I don’t like how you can only open the menu through their IG page. I don’t have IG, so it’s quite irksome when you can’t access it immediately. I would suggest to just give a physical menu or rather a pdf from a QR code. When I first came here a month ago, they only accepted cash, but last week they accepted card payments, so it’s a plus!

I've had breakfast here for the last 3 days, Food is simply amazing, the presentation is great, staff is friendly as well and everything is made fresh. Highly recommend you stop in.

I adore this restaurant. Impeccable service, beautiful ambiance, spectacular presentation and most importantly, the most delicious food we’ve had during our week long trip in Medellin. This is the restaurant I have recommended to all of my colleagues and I’ve heard nothing but great feedback.

Great for date night or business dinner. They have both English and Spanish menus available. Everything was so delicious. Also make sure you grab a table on the open air area to listen to some of the night sounds. I would definitely love to dine again.

A must visit restaurant when you are in Medellin. Period. We are planning to go back this week. We love every dish from the artichokes to the fig to the desserts.

Beautiful restaurant with lovely outdoor dining. Service is excellent. Started with Beef Carpaccio which was tender and light with the perfect amount of Parmesan. Also had the crab cake that was light and filled with crab and an order of Shrimp Ceviche. Everything was delish. Chateaubriand was nice cuts of tenderloin but our broken Spanish didn’t get our steak medium rare it was more well, but good, just not how I would want it. Seafood Risotto had plenty of shrimp, scallops, and squid but was a bit too salty for me. All in all, it was a nice dinner but maybe stick with appetizers and drinks.

Great food to a very affordable price. Usually these type of places are way more expensive... I would highly recommend it.

Really nice fine dining experience. Our waitress was so lovely & knowledgeable, she really went out of her way to make sure everything was up to standard. We had the crab cakes along with the artichoke heart with pesto for starters, and the medallions and duck for entrees. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the steak & artichoke heart. Highly recommend!
