Beautiful park for day out or relaxing. Too less places to sit under shade from sun in summer days. Good zoo too.

This park truly lives up to its name, 'Golden Head Park,' offering a golden experience for visitors of all ages. The sprawling greenery, shimmering lake, and lush botanical gardens make it a haven for relaxation and outdoor activities. One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible diversity of the park. The park's tranquil ambiance and well-maintained pathways make it ideal for joggers, cyclists, and families out for a leisurely walk.

A nice strong away from the touristy environment of Lyon you reach this tranquil and large park with many activities. A beautiful park with many large gate entrances. Very surprised there is a zoo that is free to the public - but don’t expect to see exotic animals…the central pond is just relaxing, the botanic garden is a boast for the flower and plant enthusiasts. Really enjoyed and visited it a few times as it’s also close to the museum of contemporary arts.

I had limited time but I could have spent hours walking around this park, it is quite beautiful. Everything from giraffes and flamingos to botanical gardens and a child amusement park. There are lots of old French buildings to look at on the grounds as well.

A fantastic Parc to visit as a family. Beautiful gardens and plants to discover. Different gardens with different trees and plants. Depending on the days of the week, a few activities are organized for kids (puppet show,book reading, escape games). It is great for a long walk as well.

This is such a beautiful park. I could easily spend the entire day exploring the park and free gardens, so I totally understand why there seemed to be a lot of locals also using the park. We were at the MOB hotel and took an e-scooter along the river bank, I highly recommend doing that if you have the opportunity, it was amazing. Also, check out the amazing gardens!

Incredibly beautiful park with a huge view into the zoo and wonderful free living wildlife animals as well as large areas for people to meet, eat, play games and music. A wonderful place on earth to relax, enjoy nature and the sun or socialize with your friends. I've seen many parks, but only few like this one.

A very large, immense park. It takes at least a day to be able to admire and enjoy every corner of it! There are lots of plants, trees, flowers, animals, botanical gardens, even a lake, lots of benches and some restaurants too! All of this for FREE! Just wow! I put 4 stars because in my opinion animals are not always in an excellent condition

Huge park with attractions to please everyone. Our kids enjoyed exploring by scooter. We found a couple of play parks, visited the island on remembrance and had a picnic by the lake. After lunch we were surprised to learn that the zoo is free. There is also a beautiful botanic garden. We didn't have time to take a boat on the lake, ride the little train or do any of the other activities we spotted. Would definitely go back when next in Lyon.

The church is located up the hill of Lyon city, the view is spectacular. You can see almost all the building in Lyon. Also the church and art are beautiful both in and out. It is not crowded by the time I visited. It is easy to get here by train. Recommended to come as it must be the bucket-list for Lyon city!

Very beautiful place. Just outside is the splendid view o of the city. Try to get the timing. Right so you can see the sun setting over the city. It’s really breathtaking.

Great view from this hill. Take F2 line up and enjoy the long downhill stroll through old town. Also check out the amphitheatre nearby before you head down.

Mosaics, stained glass and paintings are more impressive than many places I have seen architecturally and artistically. The location is very good and you can see Lyon from a bird's eye view. We went on foot, I recommend everyone to go out by walking.

I think it is the most beautiful place of worship in Lyon and I think it is difficult to say otherwise. It is definitely a place that amazes externally and internally indeed and it can be seen from literally every corner of the city center of Lyon! It can be reached by funicular and from the hill you can enjoy a splendid view! Admission is free and it is possible to take photos.

A beautiful, ornate cathedral that I would highly recommend visiting for anyone who appreciates such places. It probably won't be quiet, as it's a big draw in the city, but it won't matter. And there is a great view from just outside the cathedral as well as a restaurant and café. Parking your bike isn't super easy, is my only criticism, as there doesn't seem to be any dedicated spaces for them. However, I was pretty easily able to put it somewhere.

This is an amazing Notre Dame! One of the best I’ve seen in France. There’s a few way to reach it, there is a metro station stop directly in front, you can climb up the steep steps and the steep hike they Jardin de rosary (which we did) or you can drive up and park nearby. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful church. The priest passing by greeted my family and I sitting in the pews and struck up a conversation in my native language, my children loved it. It was a great heart warming welcome for the children as it was their first time in Europe and inside a church. A side note, as a visitor to any holy place, please be respectful, keep your voice down and control your children. Always make sure you are aloud to take pictures (never assume you are allowed to take pictures just because there are pictures online). While we were there there was was woman who thought that everyone in the church couldn't hear her.

An absolutely gorgeous place to visit with some incredible architecture. A great view of Lyon from above at the back of the basilica. It was quite busy when we visited in the middle of the day, so it was not the best time to appreciate everything in a peaceful atmosphere.

This museum was so incredibly amazing, we loved it! So many great movie props, costumes and prosthetics from the actual movie productions - what a collection! I was especially blown away by the miniatures collection on the top floor. I could have spent all day looking at each scene; the talent of the artist who constructs them is otherworldly. Definitely check this one out!

This is one of my favorite museums in France and is a great museum for a movie fan. You could spend a lot of time there without being bored. There are a lot of nice props, costumes, and film technologies, etc that are amazing. My favorite part of this museum is the miniature part. The miniatures are so incredible, and painstakingly created. I can visit and spend ages looking at all of them, and still not be bored at all. Dan Ohlmann and other artists have done a wonderful job, and I would like to thank them for creating such an amazing museum like this. I highly recommend visiting this museum when you are visiting Lyon.

Visited this place a little bit before closing and I had to fight myself to believe that it was miniature. The first floor is major film props like Harry Potter, but the top floor is the main standout, A collection of incredibly detailed miniature scenes that were meticulously built. You could be amazed at the skill for a very long time, next to nothing you've ever seen. All of the images of the sets are pressed to the window, no more than 15 cm.

I came to this museum because I had access to it with the Lyon City Card pass (super easy to use when visiting Lyon). I really enjoyed this museum; it had 4-5 floors with 8-9 different exhibits. It’s a nice tourist attraction for cinephile and families that enjoy looking at movie props. I spent probably 1h30 doing all the floors and could’ve spent much longer if I wasn’t on a tight schedule. There is lineup to get in here, but it wasn’t long (probably 15-20 mins wait). I recommend this museum to all that visit Lyon, especially if you want to escape the afternoon summer heat.

A privately owned museum that will delight film buffs and newbies alike! The ticket paid for itself with the ground-floor Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sidecar (a reproduction that you can get in and photograph), as well as the idol from Raiders (that you can also play and photograph yourself with). I won't spoil your fun with more details: just know it is totally worth visiting 😊

Brilliant if you are a movie fan. Real sets, props and costumes from some the biggest movies in history. Some of the displays maybe a little upsetting for very small children, but otherwise very family friendly. The building is very old and atmospheric. Loved the Alien Queen as used in AVP and the Predator costume.

From the outside, the museum looks very small. This place has nine floors, stacked in a beautiful building in Lyon's old town. The miniature exhibits are out of this world. They are meticulously designed and illustrated with lighting. The cinema part of the museum is also fun. Do not miss this place if you are in Lyon.

A very nice place, located in the center of the old town in an old building. The museum presents many interesting fragments and costumes from different films.

4 floors. 9 rooms. More than 500 items from Hollywood film studios and other studios from the world! Incredible experience. I literally saw decorations and costumes from original Star Wars, Back to the future, Batman, Spider-Man (all movies that were made before the digital era) - all these amazing things! These emotions and feelings have to be experienced. Thanks to Dan Ohlmann for collecting it!

This museum has a varied selection of items contained within a large futuristic looking building. There is one floor of temporary exhibitions and another with permanent collections. It feels like one of those educational museums that children will enjoy more than adults (there were several school groups on the Friday I visited), though there's just enough to make it worthwhile for adults too - I personally really enjoyed seeing and reading about the impressive collection of minerals and fossils. All information in French and English. Took me about 2 hours to see everything.

Had such a great time here, we visited during the peak of heat wave so we got free entry! But it would have worth spending money for the ticket anyway! The exhibitions are very well curated. Even my friend who doesn’t normal goes to museum also enjoyed it! The information were very English speaker friendly. Such a shame that we only had less than 2 hours to go through everything. Would love to come back again one day

The architecture and garden of the museum is something to see in itself. Only had time for one temporary exhibit, but it was done extremely well. Given the sensitivity of the topic, representations of Native Americans over time, it was a job well done.

My review refers to the external structure, as I have not had the opportunity to visit it internally. Well, it really is a very, very strange structure, even if it is useful to be able to shelter from the hot Lyon sun and it is also located in a fairly nice area of ​​the Confluence district. Incredible place! The collections were very well organized and there’s a lot of interactive area too - mindblowing experience of touching a meteorite piece or dinosaur fossil. There’s a lot to see so reserve a whole afternoon for it at least. There’s a lot of Asia/Africa cultural objects and art, amazing fossils and quality taxidermy. Staff was kind and helpful. Museum accessible in English. Entrance free of charge with City Card (2023). Architects totally allowed to freak out!! Awesome views of the rivers, good place to sit and watch the boats.

An interesting museum mostly about human, animals, history and culture. Very organized and interestingly presented. The architecture is modern as well. The staff are polite and nice. The entrance price was logical as well. All info were available in English. 👍

Great museum, interesting exhibits and highly educational for kids and adults. I think it's a great place for an afternoon visit to escape the summer heat and to take a break (they have a snack bar, AC). It is easy to get here with the tram T1 and you can also visit the outside with the ONLY LYON lion sculpture.

Disappointing. The permanent exhibition remains unsatisfactory, somehow does not go deep enough or wide enough… rather superficial and with not really too much to show … did’t like it. But then, I’m not into ethnography much myself. On the contrary the building is stunning!! Wonderful architectural daring ideas that was great to see come to life there! I could not stop to look around in the corridors and in the stairs and enjoy the openness and energy of the place!

One of the best museum experiences I ever had! It is such an interesting museum! It is really modern and everything is also in English. It has exhibitions about Life, Death, Evolution and the Human Experience in general. I recommend it to everyone.

Great museum with amazing architecture and great exhibits. The building itself is worth the visit. The museum has several permanent and temporary exhibits which are very interesting and interactive (Even the kids enjoy them). The upstairs cantine has good options for meals or snacks and the museum shop has a great selection of beautiful objects. I enjoyed it so much, I had to get the yearly pass!

It was the best museum we have ever visited. If you need to visit one museum in Lyon or even in France, let it be this one. Each exhibition was special but especially the one dedicated to the history of the world and universe was simply brilliant. It was full of inherently interesting artefacts and rare objects like real star dust or remains of prehistoric animals. I was always wondering why such exhibitions about the most interesting topics for humanity are not common to find. The other exhibition about the society and knowledge was mesmerising and thought provoking too. Everything was so interesting and beautiful that we came back the next day to continue, so I would recommend at least 3-4 hours to spend there. And it was free for students under 26 years old!

I am always impressed by the architectural design with remarkable acoustic qualities of such Roman theatres. The setting, with the enhancement of sound and lights by modern technology, offers excellent experience and enjoyment. The downside is it is open air, so events could be affected by weather.

Really beautiful amphitheater . Always a lot going on there as it is still being actively used. When we were there there was a band doing sound check for a concert later that night. Our friends stumbled into a gladiator performance here. Steep stairs but not so bad. Great views of Lyon… and free!

It's great to visit such old moments and imagine life long ago. It would be nice to have more information about what exactly the ruins are, maybe some pictures of recreations. One picture shows a sign that likes like it leads to other signs to discover what they ruins are, but when you go to those numbers places, there is nothing. VIP? Huh? They had things set up for concerts in the evening. That sounds kind of cool, but the modern equipment detracts from the history. Well so far, it was one of the few places in Lyon I've seen without graffiti everywhere. We walked down to a boulangerie, grabbed lunch and ate in the theater, a fun day.

Went up to the Cathedral and passed by this place. From here you can see the Lyon city view and a good spot to relax and enjoy the view. I didn’t go to the museum. A good place to spend sometime.

We made sure to make this a destination in our weekend walking tour of Lyon. Very impressive amphitheatre and would have loved to learn more about it but we didn't have the money for the museum at the time.

Great museum for adults and kids. The cost is low €4.5 per adult from memory. I had pre-booked audio guides in French and English for a group of 11 at no extra cost. The quality of the sound was good and the explanations very informative. The building itself is amazing, the museum very well organised over 5 floors, it has well signed stations to start playing your audio guide (a kid version is even made available), and there are many interactive stations to entertain and educative kids and adults.

Beautiful ruins and view out over the city. It does feel a little surreal to be able to walk and climb amongst something so ancient. I love that performances and cultural events still make use of the ampitheatre, but some of the modern installations do detract from the authenticity. I wish more thought was put into how they might be integrated less clumsily - like how the nearby museum is built into the hills.

Truly beautiful history! It sits close to the Basilica Notre Dame de Fourvière and overlooks the city. Perfect place to take in the sites. Make sure you bring your camera!

An old roman theatre but still in a perfect shape. Visiting in the evening by metro, the weather was great. It is free of entry fees. You can stay as long as you want. But please keep you eyes out for the stairs as it is soo steep. Beware of falling down. Overall, It is a good place to chill out with your friends.

Genuinely an awesome experience and a must do in Lyon. Easy to get to the top via the funicular and a short walk to the Notre Dame which is very worth seeing. One of the most impressive and uniquely coloured churches in all of Europe

Out of all the Michelin restaurants in Lyon, we booked this one by chance and im glad I did! Its a true institution from Eugenie Brazier being the mother of all the great nouveau chefs. The food was excellent, of course, to be expected at that level. Lunch 90euros for three courses, option of having other set menus as well. Additional cost for all other items. Unfortunately, we felt the service offered to us was slightly less than the tables around us, from one particular server. Not sure why that was but all other service was excellent.

It was a great dining experience at La Mere Brazier! We went with the smaller menu and were stuffed at the end of the meal. I wasn’t a big fan of the fish stuffed quenelle, and I also saw other tables not finishing that dish, but I guess that is just a matter of taste and preference. Altogether I would have wished for a bit more flavor and innovative courses. There was nothing that I have not eaten before or that surprised me. We have eaten better meals in Lyon in non Michelin starred restaurants.

A wonderful place to explore the roots of Lyonnaise cuisine. Vianney himself came out to meet and talk to all the gusts at the end of the dining session which I thought was particularly welcoming and made it so fun. The pate, which was served complimentary as an amuse bouche, was an excellent start to the dinner. Writing this review in 2022 (but having eaten in late 2019), I still remember how light and flaky the crust was, combined with the flavoursome chicken and the buttery foie gras, with the cherry and cherry jam cutting through the richness.

I have been to about 20 Michelin restaurants in France. This was one of the best restaurants in France I’ve dined in. The Foie Gras was amazing. Much better than the Foie Gras I’ve had at other restaurants. The tuna and veal sweetbreads was amazing. The crab dish was great too. The Soufflé was incredible! A very impressive dessert dish indeed. The service was world class and my waitress was one of the best servers I’ve seen. I got to meet the chef too and it was nice that he introduced himself to guests. Overall, I highly recommend dining at this restaurant.

At La Mere Brazier, I tasted Lyon's treasures. The artichoke with foie gras, a celestial symphony of flavors. The veal, a succulent ballet of indulgence. Life changing! Amazing French cuisine. Every single dish was perfect. To me this was on par with 3-star meals I've had elsewhere.

What a great place to try local cuisine. And cheap. Thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended. They deserve a 5 star. However, at the end while paying, the waiter started talking to us and then suddenly turned towards somebody else and started talking mid sentence. I found it terribly rude as he was serving us and could have waited for 10s to finish us. That's why giving a 4.

The food here is good, the service very good. I’ll echo what other reviews said; we enjoyed our meal of Quenelle, salad Lyonaise, and Ouef mollet but it wasn’t life changing. The lemon tart was great while the creme brûlée was good. I would like to eat here again to try more. The servers were friendly, patient, and welcoming.

Lovely more modern Bouchon, fantastic staff, great selection of wines. If you want to try the traditional quenelle this is the place to go - the Nantua sauce was delicious. Also it would be a crime to miss the cervelle de canut - a cheese dip that you could eat by the tub.

I came solely based on google reviews. I was in Lyon for the day and wanted to eat something that would be a slam dunk in one of the gastronomic capitals. When we sat down and read the menu I thought this restaurant focused on pork. Although it has few options and half of which are pork. The fish options were absolutely amazing. I’d come back again and again. We had the 3 course lunch option for €30 per person. This is a starter, main and dessert. We also ordered the Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine.

Vibrant as it gets, and the food was very tasty. Service was still exceptional and on-point due to high occupancy!

I recently dined at Le Bouchon des Cordeliers and it was an absolute delight. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. We made a reservation and were promptly seated upon arrival. The full course meal with wine was a great value and the quality of the food was top-notch. For our main courses, we tried the fish and the Quenelle, both of which were amazing. The Quenelle took a bit longer to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. The sauce had an outstanding flavor and I couldn't help but clean the plate with bread. The appetizers and desserts were also very good. Overall, I highly recommend Le Bouchon des Cordeliers for anyone looking for a great meal in a cozy and authentic setting. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! If you would like to visit this restaurant, I recommend you make a reservation!

Wow Arvine was absolutely incredible. The flavors were creative, surprising, elevated and whimsical. Our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable. She made us feel incredibly welcome and the service flow was perfect. We chose the wine pairing which was beautiful and she recommended a gorgeous apricot aperitif at the end. My partner also has a gluten allergy and they were incredibly accommodating which we are very thankful for! I recommend to anyone living in or visiting Lyon!

Very tasty dishes and nice and accommodating waiters. Really great tea. The waiters spoke very good English and helped us understand the menu. We unfortunately could not sit inside, because of our dog, but the waiters made it possible for us to sit outside and helped us with getting pillows, to make us more comfortable.

Hits-and-misses. Chef is playing too much with foam and it took away the creativeness and taste in almost every dish. The dessert in particular is a disappointment. I am surprised it's been featured in Michelin guide. Still plenty of room for improvement.

Took me a while (4.5 years) to post my review as we were going through some old photos. We visited this restaurant during our one month Europe trip and I can say that we had one of the best dinners of the trip at Arvine Restaurant. The food was really tasty and top restaurant quality and restaurant lived up to the expectations we had based on the reviews. The restaurant staff was extremely accomodating as we had a 4 year old kid with us which they happily managed to accommodate even though the table setup was only for couples during the dinner time. The hospitality was great and we look forward visiting Lyon again in coming years and visit this restaurant again.

If you are looking for a good dining experience in Lyon.. this is not the place. None of the 5 dishes for dinner was good. A lot of cream and sauce and that was about it. Bad food and mediocre service .. Just bad..the worst meal I have had during my stay in Lyon. What a shame. Monsieur P was way much better. This is not what Lyon is about..

The chef even came to welcome us personally and translated + explained the whole menu (written in French) for us when we told him that we were from the Netherlands. Incredible experience to end our trip in Lyon! The views of the Rhône and the city were beautiful at sunset. The flower mojito and Le Rhonin cocktails were refreshing and paired well with the sea bass and languistine tartar. We had the lamb chops which were elegantly prepared and served at the table side. The duck breast was cooked perfectly. Our waiter, Samuel, was attentive and upon learning that we were on our honeymoon gave us a complimentary chocolate dessert and champagne. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to have a memorable evening in Lyon!
