Lovely one specially by night. You can see the sphinx passage close to the entrance. Special dinners are done by night. Lovely place. I like this temple very much. Please keep it clean and nice. Try to provide some shades all around. Also you make the electric cars with extra money to go through out the whole temple. All the best.

This is a great temple. Remember not to ride the horses outside, they are clearly abused and starving. Inside the temple there is plenty to see and walk along the avenue of sphinxes. One guy tried grabbing my arm. That is not acceptable, the Egyptian government really needs to do something about harassment at the tourist sites.

If only you could go there in peace it would be so much enjoyable. Let me clarify that. You can’t go anywhere near this place without getting harassed from everyone. It really is not enjoyable. Even the workers are hustling you for tips. It NEVER ends.

Great temple, cool to see the sphinx alley, as well as Christian and Islamic additions to the original temple. I'd recommend avoiding the night when it's lit up - crowds are insane and I think the sun illuminates the site better anyway

Super interesting place with an unbelievable amount of thousands of years history. Egyptians, Greek, Roman, ... they all left their marks and scars on the original ancient temple stones. We went here with a guide who showed us many details and told interesting stories around it. Highly recommended to do like this, it prevents you from just walking by history without really knowing what you are looking at

Yet another impressive temple right in the heart of Luxor city. Not as big and astonishing as the Kernek temple which is 3 km away, but still, not to be missed. We visited it late in the evening and the experience was very much different, so I would definitely recommend it.

It is something you must see with your own eyes! This is the best from the ancient Egyptian. We were lucky with our guide explaining everything with patience and give us plenty of time to walk around and explore. Totally recommended!

Best time to visit is just before the sunset , that is golden hour. You will get to see the three shades of the day. Especially with light up evening will be beautiful. huge pillars and historic statues and much more hieroglyphs carved walls and obelisk. Costs 180 pounds, camera allowed at free of cost.

The temple is the only one that stays past the sunset, and that is why it was very crowded, all of the tourists go there after 5. It is very nice and very well preserved. They sell papyrus paper at the souvenirs shop. And there is access to the sphinx road. I recommend going but do it earlier so it isn’t that crowded.

This temple complex is massive! It has many historical significance for the worshippers of the god Theban Triad. There are many pillars and pylons unique to this temple. Some of the inner sanctuary rooms are extremely well preserved with colorful murals. Much of the temple complex is still under excavation, with tens of thousands of stone pieces marked and stored in a large field.

The second most visited place in Egypt after the pyramids at Giza. This complex began being built approximately 2,000 years BCE and took about 1,500 years to complete. It would have been fantastic during its competition. The complex is still in fantastic shape and the hieroglyphs are amazing. There is a light show at night which is a fantastic way to see the temple as well.

If you have the opportunity to go with a group then you will get in there much easier and faster. It was a Sunday in March and pretty crowded however the weather was perfect for a day trip. The place is magical…every corner of it. You walk there where the kings did too. It’s simply breathtaking and the pieces decorations of the building are beautifully made. Unfortunately we didn’t have so much time to sit down and feel the special energy of the place but I recommend it. Definitely worth it to visit. Don’t miss it if you are in Luxor.

This place is truly phenomenal! We were very blessed to not only visit here but our tour guide was also a professor of Egyptology and educated us in a way that no other tour guide could. It is usually busy but very much worth the visit. Much of the temple is still standing, although obviously showing signs of decay, but it is being looked after. If you get the chance to go, you must go. You won't be disappointed.

The most impressive temple that we visited during our stay in Egypt! It is an open air museum! I can't describe with words what i felt when i was there looking all the ancient monuments of egyptian civilization. You just stay speechless and admire...

Egypt is not just about Pyramids and Sphinx. You Must visit the Karnak temple. If you thought building the Pyramids was not humanly then you would be gob smacked at the sheer magnitude of Karnak temple. 62 acres of marvel. Few hours with a guide are just not enough. I will have to come back again. The pillars, the obelisk are just unreal. The colours are still brilliant. Luxor can get really hot. Yes even hotter than Cairo. The best time to visit is between September and March. You can enjoy it more when it is pleasant weather. But surely a must visit when planning Egypt trip

Very informative and has good coverage. Best part is the Museum is designed in such a way that you can cover everything without getting lost. It has a huge collection of antiquities. I truly loved it. The cost for entrance is LE 140.

Cute little museum, much better labelling and information to read than the Egyptian Museum. Some cool statues, you could spend a lot of time here if you are interested in learning about Egyptian.

Outstanding museum! We visited just after a 9am taxi ride and it was wonderfully quiet. Unlike some others this museum goes for quality over quantity. The exhibits have space to be seen and enjoyed. The Luxor cache section is excellent. So good to see treasures discovered at Luxor temple displayed in the city rather than being dispatched to Cairo or beyond. We stayed for 80-90 minutes and learned a lot. Highly recommended

A lovely museum to visit, but don’t expect an extravagant exhibition. Still recommend visiting. I spent about an hour here, came after 5pm. My hotel organised a taxi and I paid extra for him to wait for me - happy I did as came solo so better for safety. Staff nice and guided me where to go and what to specifically check out.

Great display of antiquities in a well organized museum. It took us an hour to see all the displays. Most of the antiquities have an informative piece of paper.

Great, great museum. We were extremely tired after 4h30 in Karnak and then Luxor + Mummification Museum, but despite that we loved the world class collection magically exposed. The mummies exposed, all the artifacts of the Tel El Amarna (Akenathon) period, the amazing sculptures... Not to be missed, at least one hour of pure beauty

Be sure to visit the cachet room. It’s right as you enter the museum on your right. Nicely air-conditioned, and very well organized with a huge variety of artifacts as well as mummies.

It’s a small yet very rich museum, it has a collection full of beautiful pieces, totally worth visiting.. the whole tour would take around an hour, everything is neatly displayed.. it is open from 5-8pm

Small museum with a couple of mummies worth a visit if you want to kill an hour or two and avoid the afternoon sun. The range of artefacts is a lot less than the museums in Cairo

Definitely should be on your bucket list. Go early, you will have about 30 mines window before big tour bus show up. Sunrise are Karnak is amazing.

A beautiful monumental work that allows us to capture the life of the ancient Egyptians. The dimensions of the architectural elements are enormous and captivate with their beauty. Note that it would take you a minimum of 2 hours to "run" the entire complex, and given Luxor's climate it would be best to visit between October and May, as 40 degrees in June was a bit brutal and distracting.

Great place to visit there are temples upon temples and if you’re not familiar with ancient Egyptian history highly suggest you get a guide to explain all the interesting artefacts and paintings. I got here at 6am and pretty much had the place to myself with some stray dogs 🐕

Really cool. Highly recommend. We went with a guide who was able to give us tons of info about the temple, but honestly its not necessary unless you truly want to learn about it. If you just want to take it in and be in awe of how incredible the structure is, you could totally enjoy without a guide.

This temple is amazing, but VERY busy. We got extremely lucky because our tour guide was a professor of Egyptology so we got a better tour than most, and he gave us a proper education on the topic, and even translated hieroglyphs. Luxor is utterly amazing. we will be going back for a 2 week trek across many more sites as we've only seen the tip of the iceberg

Now this was incredible, I had no idea this gigantic structure even existed, the Temple is really amazing and gives you a great idea of Ancient Egyptian society. However, there was a seller right at the back of the temple who was very pushy who followed us for a long time, so be careful and don't be afraid to say no. Remember, don't give anyone your phone!

A wonderful place full of rich history. Definitely do your research on basic Egyptian history or get a guide before coming here, the sheer amount of information written on the walls of the temple speak volumes of the pharaohs that ruled long before our time.

The place shows a lot of history, and it looks nice, but not very impressive because a lot of ruins were destroyed by the earthquake. Basically, you can see a lot of stones and just a couple of statues and 3 obelisks. Was so hot when we visited, about 42°C.

A beautiful archaeological place and very rich in antiquities and the ancient Egyptian civilization, and it has very large statues of King Ramses and the important royal families, and there is a wonderful lake inside the temple, and there are many obelisks, beautiful paths, huge pillars decorated with words and dates, really a place that fascinates you very much

It is simply amazing to visit this place, they say is the biggest temple in Egypt, they are doing a great job to renovate all the ruins. If you are in Luxor you should visit this place. There is no special dressing requirements since is not a mosque.

A fair museum about the mummification process, where you can see a real mummy and some sarcophagus enclosures. Be informed though that the museum is very small and thus costly (100EGP) for what it offers. If you've been to "Egypt Civilization Museum" in Cairo and saw.the mummies, then I'd for sure skip this one. If not, and you fancy seeing a real mummy, then pay a visit here. Another nice thing here are the "Alabaster jars" of the offerings, which I have not seen elsewhere (just heard of them or saw in the Egyptian paintings/engravings).

A very small, but tightly focused museum which was a quiet stop in the middle of bustling downtown Luxor. When I say small, allow half an hour, including a leisurely browse in the gift shop. There are some lovely pieces here, interesting examples of tools and equipment used in the mummification process, and mummies of several different species (a man, a cat, a crocodile, etc.). The descriptions are clear and concise. At 140 pounds, it's reasonably cheap.

This is one SMALL room, definitely not worth the price. They have 1 mummy on display of a high priest and some other interesting bits. But it's still ONE SMALL ROOM. Definitely not worth what they are charging. Something so small should be free, or part of something else. I don't know why everyone else is reviewing it so highly!?! Look at my last picture of the whole room. That's all it is.

Interesting little museum. There are some real mummies, a human, a baboon, a cat, a crocodile. There is also an interesting experiment, a duck that was mummified just 80 years ago.

Too small of a place. Museum consist of only 1 room about 25-30 sq.m. Not worth the money you pay for entrance, but something to do if you are looking for different activity in Luxor.

Just one big room but worth visit! Mummies of animals, one person and all accessories to prepare body in mummification process.

Compared to other museums i visited in Egypt this is by far the smallest and less interesting. 50% or the artefacts inside are representations or broken covers of the real mummys. If have a lot of extra time in Luxor, come. If not it will be a waste if time and money.

Beautiful restaurant! I had dinner there twice, each in one circular-shaped room with me the only customer. Beautiful decorations, delicious food. Very clean and nice. I want to go back there!!

In my personal opinion the best restaurant experience in Luxor so far (and we stayed here for 7 days). Its top number of reviews (1.4K at time of writing) justifies it, good service, obscure location but once you get to the upstairs, its oozes of old charm like a long forgotten era. Almost lazy like athmosphere, was hot as well despite not being airconditioned. Food wise, probably the most interesting menu in Luxor! And the juices were one of the cheapest we found (almost all of Egypt). Protip: Do check out their other activities too like country side dining, felucca dining and cooking classes which sound interesting but pricey (USD).

Delicious, fresh, traditional Egyptian cuisine in a charming ambiance. The prices are fair and the portions from normal to generous. The service is very friendly in a local corner of the interesting and vivid city of Luxor.

Excellent food served in a converted house. Try to make a reservation as we tried going around 8pm and were turned away but able to book for the following evening. Food is well presented, flavoured and priced. We ended up being seated in a room with only our table so almost felt like private dining.

Very good food , tasty . It’s a mix from local and Anatolian cuisine . Nice guys works there and the service is very good . It’s good choice to take the offer with 4 hots and for cold mezedes.

If I could give Sofra more than 5 stars I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You know a restaurant is going to be good when blocks away people ask if you are going there! We rocked up without a reservation first night. They kindly seated us in a downstairs room. The food was outstanding. My Chicken Tagen was excellent and the rice and milk pudding for dessert really tasty. The bill was amazingly good value given how well we had eaten. It was so good that we immediately booked for the next night. That got us a table upstairs on the terrace. This felt like the full Sofra experience. Insight of the kitchen and fearsomely hot charcoal barbecue. We all chose different dishes and all were exceptional again! 😋 The lamb shank and okra tagine was reported to be very very good. They were happy to make me an off menu version of the molekeye dish, which had been recommended by our local guide. Our advice is book a terrace table. You will love it!

I can’t rave enough about this place, best traditional Egyptian cuisine we’ve ever had, this place is charming, clean, fresh. We were a group of 4 and they gave us our own little room with closed doors, it felt so intimate, it was amazing! We loved the staff, the service and the food! Amazing experience!

Very charming location a few minutes away from Luxor station. A Moroccan touch in an egyptian style cafe/restaurant The food was nice, but the details in the furniture and interior decoration were spot on!

Sofra is a victim of its own success. It has potential to be great - but it’s way too popular (definitely make a reservation, many people were turned away) and the staff can’t keep up. The good: Staff were friendly, the restaurant set up is beautiful with antique furnishing, they have a wide variety of juices and the fresh lemon juice was yummy. Food wise, we enjoyed the baked lamb kofta - delicious, cooked perfectly so the meat wasn’t dry. The prices are really affordable and fair. The bad: - We were seated in a small room next to the entrance, which made us invisible to staff and it was really stuffy when the front desk guy closed the doors, we asked for it to be opened up to get some air conditioning from the bigger room. Unfortunately another Indian family was also seated in the room across us, as only the European guests were shown upstairs for seating. - The wait time. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and a total of 50 mins for our food - which was considered fast as we walked up to the front desk to ask to place our orders instead of waiting in the room. The Indian family waited 40 minutes to just place their orders. - Unfortunately they forgot my lemon juice order initially - The food was disappointing. The chicken tajin had chicken fried separately and placed on top of the stew instead of being cooked together. Perhaps they had no time - chicken was dry and the stew was tasteless. The fried prawns were a little salty and the rice was hard and tasteless as well. To be fair, the kind front waiter noticed we didn’t finish our food and asked for feedback. I showed him the dry chicken and he waived it off the bill. Perhaps the good reviews here are from tourists who haven’t tasted great Egyptian food - there’s way better restaurants such as Loqma and El Kebabgy. If the Sofra kitchen can’t keep up with the orders, close some of your rooms and limit the number of guests so the quality of food is good.

Nice quiet and peaceful place to relax. We had a great little meal - Smokey chili and the mezze platter. Menu has a great variety, including plenty for vegetarians. Excellent lemon meringue cake with vanilla ice cream and black coffee to finish. Although many restaurants are unfortunately “dry” - no worries here - they serve wine and beer 🍺 Highly recommended

Visited on 5.12.21 and had a great meal! I am from London and was a bit a a naughty treat for me and my partner. I had the stuffed potato skins to start and that were nice but the skin was a little soft for me. Much to my jealousy now my partner had the garlic mushrooms, which were the best I had tried in years… certainly don’t get them like that in The UK anymore. I had the steak and a roast chicken main which was great and then a lovely apple crumble for pudding. Staff were lovely and attentive and will be back!

5 stars all around. I was looking for an authentic and reasonably priced Egyptian meal after 6 days of organized tours and tiresome buffets. This place is outstanding. A wonderful and well-rounded menu, including international options for those who want it. I had the falafel, chicken liver and a glass of Egyptian red wine – all outstanding, especially the food. If I had more than one day in Luxor, I would eat here every night – as the table next to me was doing! Prices are extremely reasonable and the service is world class. No reason to eat anywhere else in Luxor!

Local food targeted for tourists. The menu is in English and the owner speaks English. Prices include taxes and there is no hidden fees in the bill. I wish I could eat here every night during my trip in Egypt.

Best meal ever. I can't recommend this place enough. We stumbled upon this place for late lunch. It was quite empty. Very nice and welcoming owner. The food took a bit of time to prepare but they have a free and fast wifi so we didn't mind. The food was delicious, great portions and super cheap. We loved everything. Definitely worth a visit. This restaurant became our favourite, we stayed in Luxor for 4 days and we used to visit it everynight for dinner…we tried chana puree, biryani, mixed veggies, prawns puree. Chana puree was our favourite. If you like indian food you should definitely visit this place when in Luxor :)

Was missing home food and came across this place while searching for an Indian restaurant and I'm so happy I did!! I tried a Indian restaurant in Cairo in the Hilton Hotel which was disappointing but this place is better by miles!!!! Tastes so much better and way cheaper. I have now had dinner here 3 times in a row!! The staff are really friendly and very helpful, always welcoming you with a smile and can have a very good conversation with them. The food is amazing and full of rich taste which made me feel like I was at home. Dishes are served quickly and you can request how spicy you'd like them. I highly recommend this place and for sure will be visiting when next time in Luxor.

I ate here twice, chose different dishes both times, and liked everything. It was completely empty on one visit and had only two other groups on the other, so my meals were peaceful and served very quickly. The service is great and the prices are good for a touristy restaurant.

Really lovely place. Highly recommended! We had late lunch here. It was quite empty but calm and with soft music, and perfect to escape the craziness of Luxor. Delicious food, great service and great price/quality. They didn't have everything on the menu but the food was delicious. We even had some leftovers and took them away.

We are in Egypt for the second time. For the first time we met such a fantastic place as Snobs. The owner who is such a positive person that you would like to spend time with him trying fantastic food and drinks. Snobs is the culinary #1 in Egypt. If you want to experience an amazing adventure, this is the best place!

Hidden gem right here! This restaurant had great recomendations so we picked it for dinner during one of our nights in Luxor. The place is super clean and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. They make it feel like they’re inviting you into their home. Local food was fresh, looked and smelled great. Prices are also very reasonable. In many ways it feels like a traditional European restaurant, but with Arabic influences. Top choice!

This place had a very calm energy and atmosphere, with delicious Egyptian food. We started with an appetizer plate, which is a little taste of different starters, highly recommend it; followed by a delicious seafood soup, tasty lentil soup and our main course, a filet with prawns, and a sea bass. What a charming little restaurant in the heart of Luxor city that is not to be missed! Decorated in the style of the 1950s, with music to accompany, the menu was a mix of European and Egyptian food and very fairly priced for the high quality. My son and I both had the Surf and Turf, the beef fillet was perfectly cooked and tender, with a fresh oriental salad, fruit juices and a Knickerbocker Glory to finish! Staff were polite and friendly with excellent service.thank you and see you again soon!

SNOBS – Not to be missed when in Luxor! 4 weeks in Algeria, 2 weeks in Egypt, and 1 week in Jordan and this was the BEST meal BY FAR! Kudos to Mahmoud (our guide) for recommending SNOBS when we’d mentioned we really liked lamb. Honestly, we didn’t even look at the menu. We asked the owner/chef (yes, he came to our table!) to bring us what he thought was the best combination of lamb et. al. WOW! If we ever get back to Luxor, we’ll make a point of eating here again… and again, and again!

Unbelievably delicious, hand prepared food. The owner came out to get me personally. They made my meal gluten free and never questioned. Super friendly staff. Prices are excellent. Wish I could take this restaurant home with me, it's that good!!!

Nested in the heart of Luxor city, this family run restaurant is a true gem of Egyptian cuisine. Very tasty food. Above all staff are very welcoming and humble. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Just remember to take cash for payments - they accept EGP, Euro as well as USD.

We had dinner at Aisha twice in a row and we still remember how tasty was the food! The two days I had the same fish tagine (awesome!) with a bowl of rice, while my boyfriend tried different meat dishes. Everything was simply delicious! I think their food is so tasty because they balance very well the spices or the sauces with the food, which is not that common in Egypt. The atmosphere is quite and relaxed so no rush of crowds. If you liked my review it means you should go at Aisha ;)

Excellent food! Mostly for tourists but it is a nice place for typical food and also has some “international dishes” (beef, pasta, pizza, etc)! Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Luxor!

lamb tagine is good! But the plate is a little small than expected. Lemon mint juice is good, and could be without sugar! Grilled fish is fresh, delicious. The atmosphere is lovely as well as the waiters. Last, price is also affordable.

The best restaurant in Luxor!! I stayed almost two weeks at the hotel close to Aisha restaurant..went many times and all were perfect!! Love the pigeon,duck, kebab, the salad, the tea, the fresh juice, dessert, everything sooo delicious! Polite and kind people and nice place to eat. I strongly recommend everyone to eat here when in Luxor.

The restaurant is cosy and located not too far from the main street. Eveything is well presented and clean. Staffs were attentive and polite. Gives you a good vibe overall. We love the bread. Chicken dish was good but beef skewers were overcooked/ tough. Took a while to get our order but that's okay. Very tourist friendly and accepts credit card.
