I recently visited this aquarium and it was an incredible experience! The variety of sea life on display was truly impressive, and I was in awe of the vibrant colors and intricate details of each exhibit. The aquarium is very well-maintained and clean, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They were happy to answer any questions I had and even provided interesting facts about the different species of fish and marine life. One of the highlights of my visit was the large tank with several different species of sharks swimming gracefully around. It was an incredible sight to behold, and I could have spent hours just watching them swim. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this aquarium. It's a great place to learn about sea life and appreciate the beauty of our oceans. I can't wait to go back and explore more of what this wonderful attraction has to offer.

Love this place. Make sure you allocate lots of time to actually enjoy it. Lots of people and tends to be quiet busy so be prepared for that. Average time spent here I’d say is 2-3h. They have a gift shop at the end (of course) and a nice little eatery place.

In Europe this is one of the best aquariums available. It’s quite big, a great place to visit and has a great collection aquatic creatures. Well maintained and worth the time. The Underwater Forest is gorgeous, so take a moment to sit down and appreciate it instead of rushing past it. The aquarium in general can be very crowded and busy, so don’t go during the weekend, but go during the week.

It was really great fun! I haven't been to one since I was a kid. It's hard not to lose focus when you get to the end, which has a little more variety and it's slightly experienced. The food at the café was excellent!

My visit to Oceanário de Lisboa was truly remarkable. The size of the facility exceeded my expectations, and I found it easy to navigate. The diversity of fish, numbering in the thousands, left me in awe. Observing sharks and other exotic fish up close was an incredibly captivating experience. The architectural layout was exceptionally well-designed, creating a thoughtfully managed space. My time there was absolutely fantastic, providing me with an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

An exceptionally awesome place. Everyone irrespective of the age would enjoy this place. Make sure you aim to spend at least two to three hours here. We were here for 1 1/2 hours but we felt that it was too short. It has a wide variety of fishes and other species. The place is very well maintained. If you are visiting Lisbon, make sure to include this in your itinerary.

A very large Oceanarium with a huge central ocean basin that is the main attraction. This can be viewed from different locations and from different levels. You practically walk all around it. There are also numerous other aquariums and areas to explore. Penguins, reef fish, a giant octopus and more. There is also a tropical forest. Children can have fun with a little diver. This is available as a figure or in digital form and playfully teaches waste prevention and explains how life in the ocean works. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant on the second floor. The ambience did not seem very inviting. However, there was a nicely designed bistro on the first floor after the store with delicious food and very friendly staff. We also enjoyed the additional exhibition "Forests under Water" on the upper floor near the entrance. The entrance fee for 2 adults and one child was just under 60€. Unfortunately, we could not buy the online ticket because the website did not allow correct information when entering the mobile phone number (too few characters possible in the input field, country code can not be entered). So we stood in line for about 15 minutes, so it went quite quickly at the ticket line. In total we were there almost 5h, a great day in a fascinating place, especially in bad weather.

Great aquarium, very interesting exhibits. They have a lot more than the average aquarium would, it's definitely worth the price. Would recommend buying tickets in advance if you can.

I had an incredible time at the Lisbon's aquarium, it's probably the best one I have ever been to. Hands down even better than Sea Life in London! All the tanks are so well kept which made it enjoyable to walk through the aquarium. There's a massive pool / tank right in the middle of the aquarium which has so many different fish (including sharks!!). We absolutely enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend.

It’s nice to visit, but the waiting time to enter with online tickets is ~ 1 hour. It’s nice that the amount of people inside the monument is regulated, so it’s not crowded at all, but it would be nicer if the tickets are sold for a particular time point. It would be much easier for everyone. The place is also very windy and no shadow, it is better to take a jacket and a hat to protect yourself from wind and sun.

A must visit when in Lisbon! Be sure to get there at opening time to avoid the crowds!! A beautiful tower. It's amazing how it's held up over the course of time and the stories it could tell. Beautiful day, not a lot of people. Nice that there is a large green space to relax and just take it in. Oh, and there is a bathroom near the road.

Sat on its own, a beautiful landmark. There is enough open space to ignore tourists and compose photos. I recommend starting here for a day trip, working back towards the city by bike/foot, stopping at the local centre and other galleries and museums en route.

Such a beautiful tower. It's amazing how it's held up over the course of time and the stories it could tell. Beautiful day, not a lot of people. Nice that there is a large green space to relax and just take it in (not supposed to bring dogs, but some people do). Oh, and there is a bathroom near the road.

It was really cool to see and take pictures! We got there after closing so weren't able to enter inside. But it was worth visiting even just to see and take pictures outside. It is unique compared to most other sights in Lisbon.

Beautiful castle like watch tower! It’s just mind blowing to have the opportunity to see such magnificent structure still standing! It’s a must see while you are here in Lisbon. Make sure you purchase tickets in advance. (Also, keep and eye out for some pickpockets)

Such a beautiful scenery. This stunning UNESCO World Heritage tower was once the port of embarkation for Portuguese explorers and a ceremonial gateway to the capital. These cloudy sunset made the place even more magical and special. Nevertheless, what fascinated me the most was the little bay with waves constantly splashing to our feet.

Awesome spot to visit while in Lisbon but check their website ahead of time as it was closed when we went during the week. Has a nice park and some vendors around. Restrooms available as well. Within walking distance of public transport with tons of available parking

This little castle, as I call it, is really cool and worth the visit. My first visit was during the week, there was no line but when I return on the weekend a year later they stopped selling tickets after lunch due to the demand to enter. The line was huge. Tickets are sold from a both (small building) in the garden, about 100m away. If you want great photos with nearly no one around consider going at dawn.

The courtyard of the Monastery is very calm and beautiful. The stone carvings are fine and delicate . Well worth a visit but it is important to understand that you first need to buy your tickets from the machines in the entrance to the Archaeological Museum before joining the queue to enter the Monastery. There are no signs to warn you of this and we saw numerous people being turned away after being in the queue for quite some time.

Get there early or you will have to queue (though it does move quick) to get in fully exposed to the Lisbon sun. Make sure you get a ticket before hand. But totally gorgeous on the inside. One needs reminding it was built in the 1500s!!! Church part is free but they do ask for donations if you wish. Could have done with some more material describing its history so if you keen on that, come with your own material.

Beautiful Monastery and definitely worth a visit. We arrived quite early (around 10AM while it opens at 9:30AM), and there was a bit of a line. I see other reviews saying that the line was over an hour - it definitely was under 20 minutes for us. It still looked very long, but we were surprised at how fast it moved. So if you're looking to get a quicker entry, I'd recommend coming early in the day based on my experience. We didn't get to see the cathedral (free) but did get to see the cloisters (€10). I don't believe there is an option to buy tickets in person, but they have a QR code you can scan at the front of the line for you to buy online. Just scan the code and get in line, and finish the purchase while waiting. For us, we had a Lisboa Card, so the entrance was free. However, please note that if this is the first attraction you're using the card at, you'll have to redeem the QR code for a physical card a few steps away. The Lisboa Card info desk is not part of the Monastery and you'll have to walk across the street to redeem it. There were no issues using the card and we spent around 30 minutes inside.

Stopped here based on recommended spots in Lisbon. It's split into two parts, one is where you paid to enter and see the entire monastery and the other just inside the church which is free. It's about 10 euros to check out the paid portion, which is still worth it. The lines move pretty quick. Definitely a great location to check out.

The exterior of the monetary is very beautiful. There was a long line when we arrived but the line moves fast. We had not bought the tickets already so I tried to get them online. A bit of hard work. The inside garden and fountain are were pacifying and relaxing, especially in the heat of the summer. Place for enjoying the quiet and making some beautiful photos.

Don't waste your time and money for this overly hyped tourist trap. 10 Euros for entry ticket and waited in a long queue for more than an hour under hot Sun. The building inside has two floors and a couple of tombs, that's it. The inside view is beautiful but definitely not worth the waiting time. Lisbon itself offers much more spectacular places than this empty building.

Magnificent and resplendent structure along the main drag and just back from the Belem Tower. Due to a military ceremony we could not get inside to see more of the architecture and interior but it was a great day with the sun shining and the scale of the building and intricate design was apparent from the outside.

It's OK Very little signage for info. Nice pictures but it wasn't worth the hour long wait in line watching people cut in front of you. You never leave school do you. I bought tickets on line while I waited in line. It worked well. I wasn't sure how long the wait was so I delayed buying tickets until I was sure I was going to wait.

If you have Lisboa card, you don’t have to wait in the line for ticket office. You can go to the entrance directly. It was splendid building and the inside garden was beautiful. The stand glass are so colorful and shining very beautifully. This is one of the most wonderful place you should come with Lisboa card when you come to Lisbon. Worth visiting and highly recommended!

Simply stunning piece of architecture! All round spectacular views. The entrance is free if you have Lisboa card. The queue is much shorter if you have Lisboa card you can enter it straightaway. It is very close to Belem tower so make sure to visit both when in the area! A must visit attraction in Lisbon.

Get tickets in advance for opening time if possible otherwise doesn't matter what time you get your ticket for, you will be waiting in line in hot sun to get in. We bought tickets for 10:00 and waited +60 min in line. Wear hat/ sunscreen/ umbrella for sun. But worth the wait. Very beautiful architecture and history inside. Clean bathrooms inside. ***separate line for church portion only on right of building which is free and if you buy tickets to monastery you still have to get in the church line and wait again.

One of the most overrated landmarks with horrible organization. Pros: the architecture is pretty. Cons: Buying a timed ticket to queue less? Don't bother, everyone will be waiting in the same huge queue. Looking for information about the significance of the building, people, events, history? Don't bother, you will leave knowing exactly zero about the place. Cherry on top: the queue to the church is separate, so when you finish your 15 minute monastery visit, you have to queue up again for an hour. 10 euros and an hour wait to walk around a cloister and 3 empty rooms for 20 minutes is a joke. There is no information, nothing to do but take pictures that are exactly like the ones online. Want to sit and admire the stonework? Not allowed! Don't bother going inside, take a picture outside and move on.

Be warned! In the morning, there is a looooong line outside under the burning sun with absolutely no shadow and vendors yelling "fresh water" for 2€. We had to wait 1h15min there even though we had purchased tickets in advance. It is not acceptable to make people wait so much even with a reserved timeslot. At least have some structure to make shadow! Other than that the visit was great. The cloister was breath taking.

Don’t be afraid of the long line outside if you didn’t purchase your tickets online in advance. It goes quickly. As far as the visit, we have never visited a monastery before so it was a unique experience for us. Tickets were $10/pp so worth visiting it. I recommend it.

Very well preserved castle and keep. The trek to the castle is a bit, but if you walked through Lisbon for a couple of days, it won't seem bad. You can easily buy tickets online and save the time (quite the queue when we were) by going straight to the turnstiles. The views of Lisbon are magnificent and you get refreshments on site. There are toilets on site and a souvenir shop. A museum and an archaeological site to cover the historic preservation of the site. All in all great couple of hours spent.

If you like exploring castles, then although most of the castle is in ruins, nonetheless there is enough remaining to climb and investigate. Not for the physically impaired as the castle steps are often quite narrow and somewhat precarious, and younger children may need to be supervised in places. However, it is great to be left free to ramble over a whole castle and imagine how it would have been in the past, defending the ramparts. We downloaded the audio which was worth the additional cost if you want to learn about the history.

Beautiful castle and worth the legwork to get up there. Price of admission wasn't too bad, especially when paying online and jumping past the line to get it. We enjoyed some fresh crepes and ginjinha in the classic chocolate shooter (SO good!). The peacocks were a nice surprise, and there were so many of them. The mating dance was so awesome to watch, and definitely made for some good pictures and video. Can't wait to come back.

Nice big castle where you can walk along the walls and get amazing views of the city. However there’s not much information or history to engage with except a few signs and a small museum with some pottery. There are also some peacocks wandering around. Overall I still really enjoyed it and felt it was worth the 10 euro ticket price.

What an incredible place! I may be slightly biased as this was my first official castle I’ve ever visited, but it did not disappoint. Even the long, weaving roads to get up there were beautiful. Near the entrance there is a little place to get a light lunch as well as some ice cream for reference. Getting in the castle for us was much easier as we have an infant and you are a priority entry for the castle, so we got to the front for tickets and walked in. If you don’t bring a baby, get there early as the line can get really long. Inside, the courtyard is beautiful and shaded with plenty of sitting areas if you’d like to stay and chill. The views are incredible! The castle itself is fun to explore and walk around, with several peacocks just strolling around. They’ve been fed by humans so be careful as they’ll get very close to you to try and get food. They almost pecked my daughter, which to me was hilarious 😆 Make sure you also go to the inside museum portion as some of the rock architecture inside is very beautiful and a lot of it is informative. Great castle!

A long steep walk, but great views. Don’t think you will see an intact castle - this is ruins only. Entry is €10 for an adult (€5 18-25) My tip is to buy your ticket online to skip the ticket queue (will cost you an admin fee of 60c) but the line today in no shade was down the street and said to be about an hour. With the online ticket, you show at the entrance and walk straight in. Is it worth the €10? In my opinion, no. The €5 I would’ve been happier. Great views but not a lot of signage or information.

Stunning. The views are incredibly beautiful, and the castle wasn't even crowded when we visited. It is so worth the price of admission, as Castelo de S. Jorge was possibly the highlight of our trip to Lisbon. We didn't buy tickets ahead of time like we probably should've, but the line to buy tickets on site wasn't bad at all (though I'd still recommend buying in advance). It is just so worth it for the view. From the castle, you can look down on the city in all directions; it's gorgeous, quiet, and peaceful. There are also a couple peacocks wandering the ground nearby; if you're lucky, you'll see one.

This castle is worth visiting just for the views. The fort is remarkable and you can climb up to all the towers. Sunset is amazing from this vantage point. The exhibit is very educational and gives a good account of Portuguese history. Highly recommend.

You can spend quite a few hours in this beautiful castle ruin. Standing high above the city, you can enjoy a wonderful view in all directions, many of the city's landmarks can be viewed here from a bird's eye view. You can relax in the arbors, but there is also room to climb up and down, and the garden is well maintained. All in all, it's worth the price of admission.

Beautiful castle with many parts of the castle in good conditions. The outer wall and inner castle are mostly intact. The inner castle you can climb and walk around on top of it. The view from the castle is amazing because you look over the old city of Lisbon. The castle also has a museum of the archeological findings around the castle. Additionally, there is an archaeological site next to the castle. Overall, worth the visit. The entrance to the castle is 15 euro per person. There is also a place to buy drinks around the castle.

My whole family loved this place. It's in the heart of Lisbon so it is easy to reach. The castle grounds are fairly large and there is plenty to explore. There are many peacocks wandering the area, which my kids loved. There was even a fenced off area where baby birds resided. As for the castle itself, it was impressive. The views of Lisbon are fantastic, as the castle is at the top of one of the many hills in Lisbon. It is well maintained and there is also a small indoor exhibit if you care to read and learn some history. Included in the grounds is a small archeological site, though it is roped off and only accessible through guided tours throughout the day, which we did not do. There is plenty of shade and places to sit in the grounds so bring some snacks if you need a break from climbing all the hills and stairs. Bathrooms are available and quite clean. Kids 12 and under are free, and adults are 15 Euro. Purchase tickets (even for the kids so they can gain entry) ahead of time online if you know you're going so you can bypass the line. Otherwise, go early early so you don't have to wait in line too long. My family spent most of the morning there, though you could easily keep your visit to 2 hours or less. Well worth the time and money for us.

Amazing structure at ground level, and wonderful view from the top. I suggest buying Lisbon card if you plan to visit many sights of the city, in this way entrances to certain attractions are either free or with great discount. At ground level there is also the museum about the plans and expansion of Belem part of the town.

Great views of Lisbon from the top! Impressive structure with figures from history carved into the side. Definitely the best way to see the map on the ground below! It is a must see when visiting Lisbon, especially on a clear and calm day!

Very interesting place. There is an entrance to the top of the monument. As of May 2022, the ticket is six euros. I recommend going to the top. The view from there is incredible. You can see the bridge on one side, and another side is the tower and palace across the road.

You can only see it good from the side of the see or not really good from the other side of the land. Padrão dos Descobrimentos, or the Monument to the Discoveries, in Lisbon, Portugal, is a tribute to the country's Age of Discoveries. When we first arrived there the weather was rainy and windy. The staff was very kind to tell us that it’s an open space on the top and suggested us think about it before we bought tickets. So we did not go up. However, the monument itself is magnificent and the sculptures on the two sides are different.

Cool monument to how the Portuguese just set off around the world on discovery expeditions. Amazing how far and wide they went using sails! I need google maps to get me to my local shop! Did not do the lift but that is an option.

Monument to the Discoveries is situated on the bank of Tagus river, close to the Belem tower. We only visited it from outside which was good enough to observe the monument. The location of the monument is quite nice and has very peaceful surroundings. We saw the monument in the evening while taking the river cruise and during the day while visiting the Belem tower. It's really beautiful and special. Must visit place in Lisbon.

This place lives up to its reputation. From the lady at the door to the waitress who looked after me (Nina), everything was amazing. The best fish I have eaten and so so affordable. Shame I couldn't go back the next day but it'll be my top spot in Lisbon

Strongly recommended! Accidentally found this place to have a casual lunch, then next day I went back again for another lunch! Can’t have enough of their grilled squid! Fish also perfectly done! Very nice staff! Clean and cozy. Also good wine! Next time visit Lisbon will def visit again!

Honesty, I would give it a 4.5 but feel bad about it because they were so nice, patient with our questions, and food was good, felt very local. We were the first customers and they were ready for us. After that, it got packed with people waiting. I would not say that the food tasted like the freshest ever or that the cuts of fish were absolutely delicious. I grew up eating seafood and it can definitely be better, but it really is amazing value. We couldn’t even finish our food and we eat a lot.

Great restaurant, we loved the octopus and the calamari! Great portions. Try the desert called baba de camelo, it's delicious! Great prices and quick service. We made a reservation 1 week in advance to guarantee a spot!

Excellent place. The food is prime quality and you fell like home. The price is correct, oh yes because the food is amazing and so tasty and the price is so cheap. Try the green wine and the cheese cake, the best cheese cake I ever tried.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Floresta das Escadinhas. It is a very popular place so I suggest booking a table if you can (they take reservations for 12.00 and 12.15) or preparing to queue for a while. We were lucky to get the last available table for two before a long queue formed. The food was very tasty; we had octopus, sardines, a side of vegetables and a bottle of vinho verde. Everything was very fresh and well-cooked. Although it's a popular place, the service was friendly and relaxed and we didn't feel rushed.

Best fish restaurant we found in town. Inconspicuous by the stairs, come in and smell a thousand scents! We had the sardines specialty and mixed fish. Both were delicious and the staff very courteous and friendly. You must eat there if you are in Lisbon!

Good food.. we had Tapas.. And very hospitable. The only problems is their toilets.. sink is out of service- no good lighting- dark color wall tou can hardly see, and its not very clean. I judge a restaurant kitchen by the cleanliness of its toilets.

A must visit when in lisbon. Right on the square. Really friendly staff especially Fran. Fantastic menu and wine. The food looked and tasted amazing. Will definitely recommend and will go back there next time we are in lisbon.

food was amazing!! i highly recommend the fried green beans. my father ordered the fried steak, and greatly enjoyed it. i had the chicken and pesto pasta, and it was amazing!

The food was tasty, although nothing out of the ordinary. When ordering wine I said we wanted to order per glass and not a whole bottle, the waiter then said that the wine would be included - without specifying which wine. When the bill finally came, it showed (as expected) that the wine was actually not included, and that we had also been served their cheapest wine, still paying the same amount per glass as for some more expensive wines in the list (there were also some extra products charged for, which we hadn't ordered - this I accept as a mistake - and it was corrected upon remark). There was a rather steep charge for 3-4 slices of bread with butter/olive oil of 5 Euros, which was served when we were seated. Food was ok, but the "trickery-ish" part was not.

My hotel (Hotel Mundial) booked this for us. Restaurant had amazing service - greeted with a smile and attentive. Cod dishes were excellent. And great place to people watch in the city centre.

Absolutely spectacular. Our server Cathy was spot-on with every single recommendation from wine to dessert and the food we were served was next level. The octopus surprised me because the quality of the olive oil itself was able to shine while complementing the actual dish. Every bite and sip left me satisfied and excited for the next. Please do yourself a favor and try this spot out!

This place had friendly wait staff, really fresh seafood and an amazing. We got the fish of the day (sea bream with potatoes and sauteed vegetables), prawn risotto and octopus rice. The prawn and octopus were really fresh and sweet and the flavour in the risotto was amazing. The sea bream was also cooked and seasoned really well. We also had some local Lisbon chardonnay with our meal. This meal was a little pricey but it's worth it overall.

Easily one of my favorite meals in Lisbon! Highly recommend making a reservation before you go, the place is pretty small and gets packed. My girlfriend and I made a trip here for a date night. Service was great from start to finish, they even offered to split our appetizers for us to share. We ordered: - Fish soup - delicious and homey, especially on a cold night - Prawns appetizer - so good and flavorful!! The sauce was delicious, we got bread on the side to soak it all up - Grilled octopus - I see why everyone recommends this. It is cooked to perfection and one of the best dishes of the night - Duck entrée - loved this! Duck was tender and the sweet sauce paired really well - Steak entrée - typical steak, the other dishes were definitely better Total came out to around $90, which was great for the quality and portions.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Frade dos Mares, and Alexandre really made the difference as a waiter, he was very caring, attentive and friendly throughout our whole dinner, and gave us excellent recommendations. The food was exquisite, of tremendous quality and for a really good price for what it was worth as a tasting experience. Totally recommend, I will definitely repeat.

This is probably the best seafood meal we had here in Lisbon after dining in several different restaurants! The quality and freshness of the ingredients with the chef’s cooking really tick all the boxes. We’d highly recommend the prawns and clam starters alongside the octopus “a Lagareiro” - LOVE them! We also had the fish soup (hearty) and the fish of the day which were so fresh and delicious as well. The service in particular is top tier! Hicarla were very attentive and lovely while serving both of us. We particularly applaud the restaurant as they separate our dishes into 2 separate plates without asking them to, as we are sharing all of the dishes. The ambience of the restaurant were perfect, the noise level were just nice and we could talk without having to raise our voice. Overall, a 10/10 experience and couldn’t recommend this restaurant more! Thank you!

We tried this restaurant for diner. One of the best in Lisbon. The decoration is very pretty as well as the personal who was very friendly and very welcoming. The food is so delicious. We tried the octopus salad, one of the best. We had the octopus dish, very tender very easy to eat with a lot of flavor. The seabass fish was also greatly cooked with side-vegetables. For desert, we had the cheesecake with bread crumbs and berries. The service was great and one of the two cheesecakes was on the house as they took a bit of time to be served. Over all very good restaurant, strongly recommend.

AMAZING!! I haven't even left the restaurant and i was to excited to comment. The best codfish of my life so far. The restaurant is very nice, dispite the fact that accross the street they are domingo work. The waiter was so nice, the music, the food OH GOD THE FOOD. The best in Lisbon, so far for me.

Very good yummy food and good wine! Ceviche, fishsoup, risotto with shrimps. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Paid with tip 90 Euros for 2 people including 2 bottles of sparkling water and a bottle of white wine. We saw the desserts they looked yummy too but we were so full, couldn't try. Overall really good experience 🤩

We came here for a nice dinner. The ambiance was very cozy. We were lucky enough to have a table in the corner. The octopus salad, the fish of the day and the octopus main meal were good.The fish soup deserves a special mention, it was extremely rich and flavorful. Mili, our waitress, was nice and sweet.

Just perfect. Delicious food and amazing presentation of it. Grilled octopus was top! The dessert and house wine were great as well. Really enjoyed the whole experience and the ambiance. 100 % recommend!

What an incredible experience. In summary, the food was EXCELLENT, the service was incredible, and the feeling of the restaurant was perfect. For the food, I had the octopus for my main and the puff pastry with raspberry ice cream for dessert. The octopus was just absolutely delicious. The flavors came together beautifully. Mica was my waitress and she was just the sweetest! She recommended an excellent wine to go with the octopus and regularly checked on me to be sure I was happy without being overbearing. It's a small restaurant that feels very intimate, which I love. Everyone here was so nice. They even gave me a small chocolate with some portuguese liquor inside as I finished up my coffee. I can only highly, highly recommend this place.

Absolutely recommended! We had garlic shrimp and octopus croquettes for starters, and shrimp risotto, codfish and octopus as main. Everything was delicious and fresh, it was of the best seafood we had honestly. Also all the waiters were very nice and friendly. We didn’t have a reservation and randomly found the restaurant, but would be better to make a reservation if you consider dining here. 🤗

We came here because of the great reviews on Google. But... Me and my husband are big burger fans, so we like to try it in different places, looking for the best burgers. I had high expectations of this place, but it didn't meet it. 1. Patties are too small for the bun, which is disappointing 2. We ordered two of their best-selling burgers. And it taste good, but nothing special really 3. I ordered cappuccino and it was one of the worst cappuccinos in Lisbon... No foam at all Also the cup was all dirty from the outside (with the coffee) 4. The door in the lady's restroom didn't close 5. I liked the interior. Nice lamps 👍 So, you can try here a burger, but it will be a pretty average one, definitely not the best.

One of the best juicy hamburger experiences ever. The meat was soft and tender. The sauce was spicy and pleasant. The Bloody Mary was just perfect. And to top it all the waiters were witty and quite helpful. Thanks Mario and Jeff

The burger I had was so juicy and tasty and I couldn’t believe how cheap it was given the quality (8 euros with fries)… they had a good wide range of beers, also reasonably priced… the atmosphere is lively and busy and the decor and music was on point. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a burger and a chicken sandwich. Sadly, the chicken had cartilage, which was not very pleasing. The restaurant is very loud which makes it hard to have a conversation. The design of the restaurant is very nice and the waiters are friendly. There could be some more vegetarian options on the menu.

This is one of the best spots we visited during our 2 weeks in Portugal. We visited twice. The food is 12/10, exactly the way a burger should be made. The drinks are just blessed, many diff types and very very professional and just bang on. The ambience of the place is also out of this world, staff are very pleasant and joyful, the music is on point depending on what kind of vibe is in the air. If your around the area , check the spot out , the thousands of reviews speak for themselves ;)

Clearly it was the best overall dinner experience in Lisbon. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the everything they have in the menu also very welcomed us while we’re waiting at the line. Foods were better than all restaurants we’ve tried previously here and prices were reasonable. They have special dinner menu along with relatively wide wine variety. Basically we liked everything we had definitely visit here again as soon as possible. Also the size of the foods were the biggest one so far.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. The food at Maria Catita blew my mind. It was absolutely incredible and the staff was friendly, helpful, polite, and also were joking around with us which was a plus. As starters, I decided to go with the Tuna bites in a white wine and garlic sauce. I would recommend getting bread to go with it because the sauce is yummy. The tuna was so chunky, man it was amazing. My boyfriend had the friend monkfish, I definitely recommend this starter as it was out of this world. As mains, we both went for the slow cooked octopus, again, it was incredible. We had such a good meal, if i could go again, I would in a heartbeat!!!

After spending the past 5 weeks in Lisbon & dining out almost every meal, we keep returning to Maria Catita. We haven’t been disappointed by a single dish yet, & can’t wait to try more items on the menu. Also, the service is excellent. Luciano, Sky & Mayara have been incredibly welcoming and helpful when we have questions about the menu. The rest of the staff is also friendly & they seem to work together well. I’ve noticed that the historic area is riddled with tourist traps, but Maria Catita is not one of them. Dinner can be hard to get into, so we usually go for a luxurious lunch. Check it out & enjoy!

It is possible to find a table without reservation even though it's busy. It's a bit touristy but the food is good. We had lobster and sardines as the main course. I especially loved the tomato rice alongside the sardines. Sardines and lobster were also delicious. The beers we ordered with it were also a good pair with the food. However, not the best spot if you are looking for a more local spot.

Amazing experience! Came the first time in by coincidence by seeing a huge queue outside, I thought myself - must be good! Was solo dining and the waiters immediately came to me and were very friendly and nice, very positive attitude and energy in general! And of course the food was amazing, the cod was so fresh and portion big which I liked. All together the best dining experience in Lisbon. The team and waiters are just amazing and they made it unforgettable, and the food. Came also second time and they all remembered me and made me feel again so warm. Keep up the positive vibe and amazing food! 11/10 experience:)

My friend and I stopped here on a beautiful sunny afternoon for our last official meal of our trip which ended in Lisbon. Firstly, order the passion fruit sangria without hesitation. Refreshing, delicious, and packs a punch! Second, every dish we got was excellent and the portions were pretty big in comparison to other restaurants we visited during our stay. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We walked in right after they opened for the day, but if you’re planning on showing up a little later, I’d recommend a reservation as they filled up fast. (But they did offer people drinks as they waited for tables to open!).

Fortunate enough to secure a table at Maria Catita, our taste buds were treated to a delightful feast. The portions, exceeding even my capacity, were a testament to their generosity. The service extended was marked by both warmth and attentiveness, further enhancing the experience. Without a doubt, a strong recommendation is in order for this establishment.

The food was really really really good! I thought it was another tourist trap thing but nope! Delicious and reasonably priced paired with great service!

We had a great time there, even though one of our drinks took a long while. But the staff were all very friendly and attentive, which made up for the delay of the drink. Bitoque Maria Catita Style and Steak Portuguese Style were both excellent. The flavor was something I’ve never had before and they really surprised me in a good way. We truly enjoyed both steaks. Very popular place. Reservations recommended.
