It was constructed as a tribute to Queen Victoria, the Empress of India and Queen of the United Kingdom. The natural environment is very pleasant. The only drawback of visiting this place is, that the hall is very far away from the other main gate and you'll have to take a walk to the hall. So, It is a worth visiting place for the ones who are looking for a historic tour.
Good place to spend some time and admire old world charm of Kolkata from British era. The museum itself have good verity of artifacts and collection to go through if you have interest. Weekends and winter days gets very crowded here. Need more efficient stuff or security inside the park area to maintain the environment and sanity of this place.

Excellent place to visit. This is the symbolic historical monuments of kolkata. People were enjoying here for weekend visit. Historical things were placed inside this monuments. You will get lots of information of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose life and the history of Azad Hind Sena. Beautiful painting were also placed here.
It was a unique treat to be back here since my childhood. I went as early as possible to avoid the crowds. I suggest buying the composite tickets for ₹30/person which gives you access to both the gardens and the museum. I came at 8 A.M and spent two hours exploring the wonderful gardens, public toilets are clean and available within the garden area. The museum opens at 10 A.M & I was amazed at the quality of the Raj era paintings including possibly the world's largest painting. I thoroughly recommend it for lovers of architecture and landscape designs.
Beautiful palace.. of the queen.. pure essence of British architecture.. must visit. Although it's too crowdy. Don't forget to meet the queen's old statue outside of the palace also the per person ticket fare is Rs. 30

Beautifully maintained place. Beautiful gardens and ponds surrounding the white marble monument. Some of the sculptures are fabulous. The gardens open from 0530-6 in the early morning and that seems to be the best time to go nowadays. The sun is up and it's cool. The entry to the garden is Rs 20 per head. Toilets inside are well maintained. Lots of trash cans around to help people keep the gardens clean. The museum opens at 11 am. I've put lots of snaps.

Some random clicks of Victoria Memorial. I have visited there so many times. It is the best place to spend time with friends and family. The ticket price for garden visit is only ₹20/- per person and the ticket price for exploring the inside of the museum is ₹30/- per person. The time period is 10am - 5 pm (winter) and 10am - 6pm ( Summer).

Very beautiful serene temple which has a extraordinary calming effect. A must visit. The river just behind the temple looks wonderful and clear. P.S.- Keep you mobile phones in your bag or else you will be asked to get rid of it before entering the temple (during the security check).
One of the best religious places in the entire West Bengal. Clean & well maintained ambience inside of the premises. You just have to keep your smartphones, cameras, shoes etc. outside before entering the main area of devotion.
Wonderful arrangement for puja and meditation. There are counters outside to deposit your shoes and bags. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the main premises and these too have to be deposited. Car parking facility available. Neat and clean temple compound.
It's crowded during the weekends, early morning, weekday will be better for visiting. Truly magnificent. Swami Ramakrishna spent 16 years in one of the building. The miracle of this temple is also mentioned in Autobiography of the yogi.
Truly a pious place for devotees, well-governed and systematically organized by the staff. A review will not rationalize this divine place, a real-time visit to this shrine will make difference in who has faith in the supreme God. You can visit the shrine by water, road and metro rail, however, a boat ride is always the best choice for all tourists, and the extravagant view of the Ganges will charm everyone. God Bless !!!
Best Mandir in Kolkata in terms of Administration. I visited many times this place. As many people visit this place for worship there is long que always, so it's advisable to visit the place with time in hand. But the crowd management is of very good quality. As there is ample space in the mandir campus crowd is adjusted there. There are mainly 3 lines. in 2 lines you can only see side face of Ma & in one que you can see Ma from the front. There is no "Panda" concept. I must raise one point here what I saw there. The candles, alta or sindur what people bring for worship is thrown by the pujaries (brahmin) near the stair of the main mandir, which is then collected by the local people & resold. So waste management should be more proper. Mandir is well maintained & clean.
One of its kind. Whenever I visit Kolkata, a visit to dakshineshwar Kali temple is must. The vibes are different. These days mobile phones are not allowed inside but when I last visited 7 years back, they were allowed. Few of the pictures attached shows inside of the temple from 7 years back. Even outside the temple you can enjoy river side views or enjoy a boat ride. There's like this temple in North India as far as I know.
Well this place is again one of the most peaceful place in kolkata but beware of crowd its most of the time so crowded too. Just some basic information no mobile or bags or shoes are allowed you have to submit it in the place of submission. And no cameras are allowed to in the temple but you can take everything to the ganga river side .
A very peaceful religious place. You can just sit here beside the bank of river Ganges, and feel relieved. And after that the most wondering thing is the temple’s structure. Whenever you try to capture the temple it looks like a painting! The scenic view is also very wonderful.A good place to bring our family for a relegious tour. If you want to released from evil eye then you can come here..... Her love is so fierce that she destroys evil in order to grant liberation. She destroys our attachment to the temporary body—and reminds us to enjoy the beauty of life, because death is certainly coming. Also you can come for 🙏.
This place is an absolute must visit place whenever you come to Kolkata. It is so peaceful and you can feel so much positive vibes over here. You can also take a ferry ride and witness the beauty of this place from the river. And would also like to mention that probably this is one of the few places in Kolkata which is well maintained and is neat and clean. TIP : Don't forget to dip your toes and sit near the ghat inside the temple premises you will definitely feel good.

Eden Gardens has its own vibe. The atmosphere of the crowd is just mesmerizing to watch. It also helps when your home team/supporting team wins games here. Just to point out that washrooms are not clean here at all. If that could be improved then this 60,000+ capacity stadium will be a magnificent place to visit.
It's nice.. we enjoyed the KKR match.. it's good. Please don't take an umbrella, water bottles, or food . Not at all allowed. We bought a flag with a stick. They threw our stick and allowed only the flag or flag with paper handles. Food is costly..but no other options. Enjoy your favourite team. We are on the D block.

Recently visited this place and trust me, it was worth every penny. The ambiance was great. We had Mutton Chello Kebab. The kebabs were very juicy and tender, I couldn't stop drooling! The egg yolk was runny and just perfect. The rice portion had a nice fresh smell and all together it was magical in taste. I can feel the kebabs in my mouth.. so soft and melting.. The portion was satisfactory for a person. Second dish we ordered was Mutton Hamburger steak. The steak was heavenly tasted, soft & juicy inside.. Probably one of the best mutton sizzler i have had till date. Totally amazed with the food.

The staff is very welcoming and courteous. They will try to help in every aspect. Coming to the food, in spite of having a wide variety, it's famous for its Chelo Kebab platter. It's a one plate complete meal for one. It contains, butter rice, two types of kebab and salad. Apart from this, a diet lover must try their "cold chicken salad" under appetizer. Coming to the price, to me the price is a bit high and overpriced. But if you want to enjoy the old Calcutta dining with a sober crowd, this place is a must visit.

Recently visited this amazing place. The hot seller- chelo kebab is a must try when you visit this place. It filling and delicious. The meat is not super succulent but goes well with the butter rice . The sizzlers here is a hot seller. The portion is good and the meat is cooked perfectly. The cocktails here are a bit disappointing both in taste and presentation. It looks almost similar. Was highly disappointed with the appearance. The food was good. Would highly recommend everyone to pay a visit.
The ambience is great! The place is a bit crowded but the warm golden lights are very soothing. Its one of the best Chinese restaurant in Park Street. Cuisines are bit costly! But tastes so good. Staffs are also nice. Perfect for spending time with family and friends.
Had a nice dinner at Peter Cat after anticipating it for months. It is one of the most popular restaurants in the city and I totally understand the hype. The food was really unique and the servers were dressed in traditional attire which felt very different. The place is lit very artistically and although it might get a little cramped up with there are too many people but they have a nice system of managing it. Coming to the food, the chelo kebab platter with sufficient for a medium eater like me and the chicken was really yummy and delicious, topped with a dollop of fresh butter. I would not go again in the next few months, but it is really great for a first try.
Food & Drinks are really very tasty. I feel mocktails are slightly overpriced. Also A one ltr Kinley packaged Drinking water was Charged Rs.75/- 😩. Following good covid protocols. Overall good service.
Nice ambience... But waiters are all seniors but refinement is not there, table manners are not there.... Too crowded... Foods were alright... Quality has detiorated...kebabs were dry and too small in size in contrast to the price...But what is remaining is good... All staffs wear masks.... Drinks costly
I recently dined at Peter Cat restaurant in Kolkata and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food was served to the table very cold, which was a major letdown cause the butter was not even melting on the rice. The restaurant itself appeared quite old and in need of some renovation. One of the dishes I ordered was the chelo kabab, which was claimed to be Persian, but it lacked the authentic flavors I was expecting. As an Iranian myself let me tell you that it was not the actual Chelo Kabab at all. It was mutton seekh kabab with a cold rice. Moreover, the prices of the dishes were quite high in comparison to the quality of both the food and the service. Overall, it was not the enjoyable dining experience I had hoped for. People giving it 5 stars either never had a good meal or never been to a better price and I cannot care less how iconic the place is as long as they’re not aiming to improve.
A fine dining restaurant with a great ambiance. It is a very old restaurant with nearly 50 years of heritage. There's nothing to say about food quality, it's just awesome. Service was very good and polite and friendly behavior from the staffs. Sizzler and Chelo Kebab are the must try dishes in this restaurant. Overall, had a great experience.

6 Ballygunge Place is one of those elite restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Bengali cuisine. Multiple branches opened in South & North Kolkata and New Town. A bit pricy but worth it. Specially Gondhoraj Chicken is one of the best starters. Polao and mutton is the best combo. My wife’s favourite is their Dub Chingri. One of the best in the city. We went to the Salt Lake area outlet. It is iconic. It depicts a woman's life in different ways. You will get typical Bengali food. Bhetki fish fry was delicious and crispy. Veg food is also good. They don't have a big menu but whatever items they prepare are all authentic cuisines just like their old outlet in Ballygunge.
Great experience with great food. We had Fish Kabiraji and Prawn Cutlets as starters. Prawn cutlets were delicious. For main course, we had radhaballavi and cholar dal, rice, chitol muitha, bhetki paturi and mutton er jhol. For dessert we had baked mihidana with rabdi along with aam porar shorbot and ghol. All the items were delicious.
6 Ballygunge place is my go to place for authentic Bengali cuisine cravings but this branch was kind of disappointing only because of the mutton kosha they served was hard and smelled stale else rest of the items were phenomenal. We ordered mangsho chop, mushroom cheese stuffed bhetki fry, gondhoraj ghol, mangsho polao, bhetki kalia and nolen gurer ice cream which were all very delicious. I expect this outlet to keep up with their brand reputation. Rest the staffs were warm. But other outlets like Newtown,Sec V the staffs are better. The ambience is top notch. I wish to re visit again and re edit my review after they improved in the areas I mentioned above. Good luck team!
My connecting flight was delayed and had 8-9 hrs layover at Kolkata. So i decided to have lunch Bengali food. Asked my Bengali friend where to eat. Ahe suggested this place. Awesome food best service. All food was new to me. So waiter suggested some famous dishes. Adding some pics and bill also.
Food was decent and better than most other buffets in town. They need to work on the starter items in the buffet menu. Main course is really good. The dessert section is so so. Service is impressive and the staff are courteous.
Cozy place with fine dining. They serve authentic Bengali cuisine which blew my mind. We opted for non veg buffet which was pretty good in terms of the number of dishes it included. Food taste was also okay except few items including Mutton and chanar Dalna which were so average. Staffs are so attentive and well behaved. Must visit once
We visited the Salt Lake branch of 6 Ballygunge Place. Ordered: Banalata Sen and sanyasi Raja - drinks Chandannagar fried fish - Starter Chittagong fried pomfret - Starter Posto narkel bora - Main Doi elish - Main Basanti pulao - Main Dhakai kalo bhuna mutton - Main Only the pomfret was a bit bland in taste, otherwise food quality is top notch. Nice atmosphere and a very elegant and well-thought Menu book.
Where to start I don't know. I was lucky that my family planned for aiburobhat at this resturant. The food, ambience and service was impeccable. If you want to taste authentic bengali (bangal) food this is a must visit place. Although this is newly opened branch but I didn't have anything to complain compared to their main branch. Upon knowing the special event, they gave us complimentary fries which are part of the custom. They also greeted us with refreshing welcome drink, sort of pinacolada. There speciality is kosha mutton, dab chingri but you can order anything and you won't be disappointed. Definitely, there is rush during the peak hours so make your reservations accordingly otherwise you might have to stand in the queue.
The atmosphere was fantastic. We indulged in a delightful lunch buffet that left us satisfied. The Chingri malaikari, Saak bhaja, Sukto, Paturi, and Mutton were all outstanding choices.

Looking for authentic and great food.. This is the place.. Simple dine in option with great taste. You taste buds will be very satisfied here. The heritage dish options are various and too good. Loved all that i have tasted here and will wait for the next time to try out some new and great tasty food which are yet to be tasted. My check list of dishes from here is long, so will be visiting soon to taste them all. Happy foodie. 😊
If you want a taste of vintage Calcutta food joints this is the place for you. From the beautiful ambience to the lovely layout of the restaurant, this is a good place for fancy dining. The food were great. Especially the devilled crab is exceptional. Even the prawn starters was great. The sizzler is okay and the main course was good. Never forget to have the Baked Alaska, it is worth visiting the restaurant alone!
Had a lovely evening with my family here. Yes, the main course took time to arrive but it was definitely worth the wait. The fish risotto was great, full of subtle mild flavours, their signature classic chicken garlic steak was no doubt delicious, so was the Angels on Horseback. Nice name for a naaaice dish. The staff were very polite and attentive. Good experience overall.

I won't say that this is the place to go for the best food experience, but the quality was good and not the quantity. The prices are too high. I tried Indian dishes. You can also check out their Italian cuisine as well I heard it's good. The location was easy to find. They do have washroom facilities for men and women and it was clean. The are maintaining the covid protocols as well. The customer service was good. They should pay more attention to the food quantity they are serving in compared to the price they charge.
This place is very nice with perfect ambiance for family and kid. The price is reasonable for both drinks and food. The quality and quantity is really amazing. For a couple a single dish of most of the items will suffice. It becomes full pretty fast so please care about booking. If you go by 7 pm it's still available. The place provides quite ambiance where you can sit and enjoy your drinks and food with some descent gossips with your loved ones. PS: do not order virgin merry in mocktail section. You will regret.

I am going for my birthday dinner today. I love their decoration in the restaurant. Service is also very good. We ordered some fish items in white sauce and chicken steak with garlic sauce. I love the food very much. They served the food very well. Their continental menu is very good.
It was my first visit to the restaurant. One of the oldest restaurant famous for its authenticity. Few of the dishes are good but not upto the mark. Prices are bit high compared to other restaurants. Over all experience is good. Ambience is nice.
It’s a good restaurant and it’s crowded every time I visit it. However this time, we were able to get a table the moment we arrived. The outlook of the restaurant is heritage feels with low-hanging lights providing a perfect opportunity for food photography. Coming to the food, it’s good but not exceptional. We ordered the famous Crab, it was good but way more cheesy than required. However, I loved the pork cutlets with a layering of cheese in the center. I feel almost every food served is cheesy over here 😅. However, loved the dessert “Baked Alaska”. It's an amalgamation of flavors, fruits, cake, and ice cream with cream set on fire. Loved the unique take on it. Overall a good place to try out western flavours.
Such a delightful place to visit despite long queues on weekends... Absolutely fantastic service, Restaurant manager, guard, waiter, cleaner everyone is at the top of soft skills. Delicious food with a wide range of unique options. All so yummy as well!!!
Tried chicken drumsticks, chicken and mushroom sizzler, lobster thermoid. In dessert baked Alaska. Everything is perfect mouthwatering dish. Luxurious and cozy ambience good for couple and small family n groups. Spent a great evening. The amount you pay is worthy. Overall amazing experience for a refreshment. Staffs are nice.
Best restaurant experience so far for me 😁. The atmosphere was as good as their food. I really liked the devil crab I think you should definitely try this. Also other dishes I ordered were really delicious 😋. Service was also very nice. The only downside to me is that you have to wait more than 45mins outside on the weekend, although there are chairs available outside.

Aside from decent tasty food, the turn around time was really fast. Food was not disappointing, but at the same time nothing out of the ordinary given the exorbitant amount of money one would spend here. The service was really good, we received useful recommendations on food options and our additional needs were met.
Absolutely loved the whole experience here. The service was impeccable. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. We had a 20-25 minute wait-time due to the Sunday night rush, but it was worth the wait. Also, one of the servers overhead that it was my father's birthday, so they arranged for a cake and celebrated along with us, which was lovely. The ambience,the food , the service everything was commendable and perfect 😍 the only place in Kolkata probably where I saw jackfruit biryani in the menu...will surely try it on the next visit.
A great place to enjoy Bengali cuisines for non Bengalis (and even Bengalis). Food was great. We went for a buffet and had a good time. The taste of certain items on the menu were great and some had a standard taste, but none had a non-commendable taste. Polao was good and went really well mutton. Biryani was standard. But the kebabs for the appetizers were really juicy. No wonder they were emptying out fast. You can also order something off the menu as well at an additional charge, like we ordered kochuri specifically for the mutton. The place was not very crowded so a bit of laughter and chit chat made the ambience very social and inclusive.
It was great. We tried my first time bengali buffet 😋 here. I love the fish fry and the dessert 🍨 🥧. The main course is little bit more ghee. I don't recommend the buffet prawn. The ice-cream was awesome 👍 👌. If you want to try the bengali food 😋 this place is perfect for you. You must try the salmon fish fry, this is the best way to start you buffet.

We had a sumptuous and delicious meal to celebrate a family occasion. The choices are varied and some exotic dishes can be savoured here.The service is excellent and we had been pampered especially with a complimentary cake too. @ Rs 2500/- per person for unlimited buffet meal in a luxury hotel would be appropriate for special occasions!
Perhaps the best buffet offered among all luxury hotels in Kolkata. The preparations in the buffet spans across such a diverse spread, there's something or other from every other cuisine available. Be ready to test your palate for a terrific gastronomical experience. Hoping to be there soon!
Service was nice but food was not so good. At a 5 Star hotel we always expect the best quality. But genuinely I never felt that taste... The rest was fine.
