This palace is a must if you are in Honolulu and looking to learn about the local history. The items are superbly restored and the audio tour gives you a good overview to understand what you are seeing. Even my kids enjoyed learning about the Hawaiian kings and queens. I only wished to have a bit more of natural light to appreciate the place. But it was a really nice visit

I went with a group of Social studies teachers from California and Hawaii. It was very nice and interesting. I enjoyed learning about the History of the royal family of Hawaii and the international relations they had with Queen Victoria not England.

The palace was gorgeous, and it was so lovely to be seeing it in real life! Our tour guide, Claudette, was so nice and knowledgeable. She gave us so much information about the royal life, as well as history about the architecture. I would recommend going, learn about Hawaii! (also saw a rooster outside, under this beautiful tree)

We arrived in time to go on a self guided tour but they do suggest reservations as there’s no quarantine that there will be availability for walk in. You are given a preloaded audio guide mechanism to hold which gives you the history of each room in the palace. It’s beautiful inside and worth taking the tour. Young children might get bored as it can be over an hour and you can also visit the museum in the basement too. Check out the website before planing a tour as they are only open certain days and times and so have certain requirements and restrictions.

The Docent tours are a great hidden Oahu treasure. Well worth the minimal extra cost. Excellent recount of Hawaiian history, culture & people. The palace is loaded with artwork, collectibles & architecture. Don't forget to tour the rooms in the basement & kitchen.

This place is absolutely amazing! If you are ever in Hawaii please visit this. It’s stunning and has a rich but sad history. The staff is absolutely amazing. It’s very well organized. The audio tour gives a lot of information. We payed for an earlier time but Doreen helped us move the time and was very gracious! Thank you for such a pleasant visit!

We did the self-guided tour which was fine. Bring your wired ear buds if you don't want to have the listening unit against your head for an hour. Definitely worth the price - especially if you like history. Very humbling and disturbing how Hawaii became part of the US. This was definitely not covered in my high school and college US history courses (as it should have been IMO). Tour was $25 per adult and took about one hour. The team that did the restoration did an amazing job.

We paid for a docent led tour of the palace and I am glad we did,. We begin our tour in gift shop areas before being led to the palace for some short instructions and foot coverings. Our docent began the tour with an overview of HM King Kamehameha The Great and how he united the 8 kingdoms of Hawaii into one. We then toured the entertainment spaces of the palace and learned how HM King Kalākaua and his wife use the palace to entertain and more importantly how they used entrainment as a form of diplomacy. We then ventured into the private family areas where we learned about the private functions of the royal family. Sadly, we learned about the final monarch and how U.S. businessmen, with the help of our armed forces, overthrew HM The Queen and ended the more than 100 year monarchy, despite the wills of the native Hawaiians. Our docent was then so kind as to take us to the basement level, which isn’t apart of the docent-led tour, and give us a brief discuss and Q&A session before we were free to tour the basement which included the Lord Chamberlain’s office and relics of Their Majesties King Kalākaua and Queen Kapiʻolani as while as some jewels from Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Iolani Place in Hawaii is a 4/5 star destination worth a visit. The building is charming but small, ideal for an external tour. The surrounding park offers a refreshing experience with some impressive old trees. Overall, it’s a nice spot to explore during your visit to Hawaii.

A unique stop in Honolulu. Beautiful grounds. The tour is a bit pricey at $25/head. It is self guided. You are given a phone-like device that you can use to hear info at each station along the route through the palace. I didn’t realize Hawaii had such a complex history with western and eastern influence going back hundreds of years.

The history of Hawaii is amazing, just like their palace. A huge restoration has taken place to preserve this heritage building. Be sure to add this to your bucket list.

He had a great afternoon exploring the palace. We did the self guided tour which provided details about the different rooms and the history of the Hawaiian kings and queens. My husband and I both loved the tour. The staff was incredibly nice, helpful and informative. We had a reservation and the time was respected. Seeing the palace is a must when visiting Honolulu.

I went to see special exhibit of a Japanese photographer Ai Iwane during Hawaii Triennial 2022. Wow, I was so impressed her photos of Bon Dance. Energy and excitement of Bon Dance were excellently expressed through her photos. I was also impressed with variety of arts displayed here at this HOMA. It was such a wonderful experience to see great collections of different cultures and artists of all ages. Especially I was very impressed with exhibition of Buddhism. I loved this museum and probably will come back.

Beautiful open concept allows sunlight to bask the ~4 courtyards. $20 admission fee, must hold bag on shoulder or in front of you to avoid bumping into sculptures, museum closes early so come early as I didn't get to see everything. The paintings are stunning and you'll learn a lot about Kamehameha. My favorite paintings are attached.

Wow this museum really impressed me! The little courtyards are all charming and there are so many great exhibits and wonderful artists- a mix of old and new. I had a great coffee after at their coffee bar and sat for awhile in the palm courtyard. Highly recommend spending an afternoon here!

Loved the museum had alot of amazing items so much history. Our hotel provided free entrance for us which was amazing. This is a must make sure you come visit.

I have been to Honolulu twice and I had a great first experience in 2019 and had to come back with my partner… a lover of art :) It did not disappoint! We did try once to come here and it was closed. I am sure I messed up the hours but we had some difficulties finding parking. It was there but it was surrounded by homeless.. covid was definitely rough to this area as things were very changed since 2019. So when we came back we took an Uber. The museum has several different rooms that are well organized. We had a lot of fun interacting to friendly employees as well. Thanks! Also, this was included on our go-city passes… we had a blast on this trip and those passes were invaluable

Honestly, this museum seems like a hidden gem. Extremely surprised that there weren’t more people crowding into this place. I suppose they have occupancy limits. However, you won’t be disappointed once you step through. The beauty of the gardens and neutral space was nice. Also was surprised to see Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Georgia O’Keeffe(completely surprised to see her Hawaiian prints, no clue she did them in 1939). They also have a nice cafe, restaurant, and great gift shop. Only wish I had more room to take more gifts back.

I spent an afternoon here with my daughter last Friday - we could've stayed longer because there's so much to see. The few pics I have obviously don't do the museum justice. Admission is only $20 but you can also sign up for their lowest membership tier for $50 which gives you access for one year so if you're local, you can't beat this. There's also an outdoor/open air cafe with live music on Friday evenings. Also, a coffee bar with a super-friendly barista. I'm definitely planning to visit again while it's still an easy walk away!

Hidden gem for those who loves art, not just in general but also local Hawaiian arts. Mostly, Asian art pieces are there but you can see rare collections such as Islamic, Souther Asian pieces as well. Enjoying beautiful nature is probably the main purpose visiting Hawaii but it is worth to spend some time(1 or 2hrs) at this place.

This is a must see. I could have spent at least 3-4 hours here. The museum itself is an architectural beauty. Then you have all the cultural knowledge inside to learn about which is truly amazing. I loved the interactive aspects of the museum but like I said above the knowledge that you learn about the native Hawaiians and culture. From how they lived and thrived to know is wonderful. This is a must do when you come to the island. I think it will give any visitors an appreciation for the land and people and what they are fighting to protect and preserve.

Best museum with something for all ages. Plenty of hands-on exhibits for the youngsters and lots of great Hawaiian history. We stopped by on the way to the airport to waste some time. The cafe was good too. We saw the show about stars at the planetarium. Very informative!

This museum was a hidden gem. On our last day in Oahu we were looking for something indoors to do while we waited to catch our late flight out, this was the perfect spot to spend our last hours in Hawaii. There are a lot of hands on interactive displays for adults and children alike. There is a historical hall, science center, planetarium and outdoor exhibit. We enjoyed all of the galleries and learned a lot while having fun. At first glance it looks like a tiny place but don’t be fooled. There is a lot to see an do. Check this place out you will not regret it.

Not any ordinary museum, Bishop Museum is jam packed with not only a deep cultural history of Hawaii but of nature and science. The first exhibit explores the history and roots of the islands and how everything came to be today. The other exhibits explore the explanations of the plants, wildlife, and even has a giant volcano you can explore! Oh not to mention the surfing game you can try out yourself. Fun and educational, perfect for all ages!

A lot of great information here, but my family and I all left feeling a little like we still didn’t understand the culture fully. We came to try to learn more about Hawaiian culture and Polynesia. However the information was sort of just jumbled everywhere. It would be better if there was a chain of events lined up for you. Organization is a huge part of teaching. They have the artifacts grouped together, but the timeline is missing. The artifacts they have here are priceless and extremely beautiful! But outsiders with no background of the history will have a hard time grasping the basic concepts. It seems like you almost need a little bit of prior knowledge before coming here to really appreciate everything they have to offer. If the museum could incorporate a timeline somewhere explaining the exact history of Polynesia and the islands, that would be helpful to everyone! Dumb it down for us so that we can all advocate for the culture and people of Hawaii 🌺🤙🏽 Some of us tourists want to appreciate the history and traditions! We aren’t all there for Waikiki beach 😉😁 My five year old daughter did really enjoy the kids science building across the campus. The slide for the volcano is hardly a slide though, the kids can’t even slide down it because it’s not inclined enough😅 could use a revamp! We did like the glow in the dark tunnel a lot though! But overall enjoyed our time there. The price was a little steep for three adults and a child, but I’m hoping that the museum will improve with feedback like ours🤞🏽 Would love to come back and learn more at some point!

This place is a phenomenal place to witness Hawaiian history. Beautiful museum and the artifacts are amazing. History should be shared and understanding the journey of the Hawaiian royalty and the kingdom is a must see museum. It’s at least 2-3 hours at your own pace and the cost is nominal.

The museum is a little too expensive but it's an outstanding museum with a lot of artifacts from remote times in the Hawaiian islands. It has a big area with the historical artifacts and 2 other buildings with interactive experiences mostly catered for children. My only criticism is that the part where the history of the islands is told is kind of relegated to a small area in the third floor, and it could have taken a whole floor if it had been set up in a more organized and logical manner.

If you're looking to learn about the culture and history of Hawaii, this is the perfect museum to visit. There was so much to see. I recommend making this a two day event. Unfortunately, the planetarium was closed. However, everything else was open. I'm impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities and the extremely friendly staff. I really enjoyed every aspect of the Bishop museum. If you are military or local you can receive a discount on your ticket. All others pay the full price of $28.95. Additionally, parking inside the fenced area is $5.00. I hope your experience will be as great as mine! Enjoy!

A great museum to go and explore for the day. There are actually three different exhibits in different buildings. Keep that in mind if you want to see everything. There is the Hawaiian history in the main building which is some of the most beautiful architecture you will ever see. A dinosaur exhibit next door. And lastly a science exhibit across the court yard. Would recommend for all ages! Prices aren't bad for what you get and you learn alot.

This museum was a wonderful experience! There are children's exhibits, natural history exhibits, a planetarium, and several cultural history sections that fill 3 floors of an ornate and beautiful building. I saw the Wayfinder planetarium show. We spent about 5 hours at the museum today and really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!

Pretty nice museum - learned a ton about Hawaii’s history and culture. Not overly long, the main mansion was the best exhibit. You also have access to the science portion but it was being maintained when I was there - it’s more geared towards kids. Did this with the Gocity pass so it was worth it. Probably not worth it just with the single ticket for me.

An awesome beach with long white sand beaches and areas of shallow water where the waves are minimal. Very popular for wading, surfing, beach volleyball, or just strolling. Can be super crowded on weekends. The ocean is nice aqua blue color when the sun is shining. It's right off the street with lots of restaurants, hotels, and shops.

My hotel was across the street from Waikiki Beach. Grabbing a snow cone is a must! This beach was so beautiful and clean, I walked it every day! It is most always crowded so try and get there early or later in the afternoon to catch the sunset. I loved that there was surfing lessons offered right on the beach!

First time here and the beach was amazing. There was one side where we could swim and the opposite side had lots of waves. The water was so blue it was beautiful. The temperature of the water was nice on this summer day. The only con was how packed it was but later in the evening it was better. Watching the sunset was a perfect ending to a lovely beach day.

Loved it! But! Lots of coral here so make sure you wear water shoes. Water and scenery is beautiful. Lots of shade if you need it, but not next to the beach.

Waikiki Beach in Hawaii is such a beautiful place. The blue sea and the wide sandy beach are great places to relax. Many people enjoy relaxing on the beach. People enjoy tanning, swimming, or surfing. I could get a lot of energy from them just by being there where everyone was happy. If you come to Hawaii and you must come to Waikiki Beach. If you didn't come then you don't have no reason to come to Hawaii.

Golden sands, azure waves perfect for surfing, and a vibrant atmosphere make it a dream destination. Breathtaking sunsets, top-notch resorts, and a blend of culture and relaxation create an unforgettable Hawaiian experience!

Waikiki beach is a super fun beach. Very accessible with tons of shops, restaurants and rental places around there is a lot to do here. Easy for families that are in hotels nearby to walk to. There is rock barricaded area that makes for calm waters for swimming and enjoying chilled water activities. Another section of the shoreline has plenty of waves for boogie boarding etc. There is volleyball court and of course plenty of sand to enjoy your day out on the beach. This is not a quite and secluded beach. It's bustling with lots of people and activities and that is a party if it's charm.

First time to the famous Waikiki Beach and was NOT disappointed! Watching surfers from pre dawn to past sunset. Such a welcoming energy and laid back atmosphere. For the most part, it was very clean. Places to shower off the sand. My favorite part? Stopping with everyone to quietly watch the sunset with respect and awe.

It's one of the busiest beaches I have been to. Parking in the mall parking lot will save you time but will cost you . There are plenty of people and things to see. Tons of food choices in walking distance

Visit Hawaii you won’t be disappointed! my wife and I spent a week there and we both loved it from beginning to end. Peoples here are very friendly and make tourists feel welcome. Hawaii is one of those places where most peoples make their income from truism,tip generously and buy local made stuff. I recommend a helicopter tour so you can see it better. Respect their rules and traditions and have fun at these beautiful Islands.

An excellent hike that gives you a great view of the city. It’s a fairly easy hike, but there are some steep steps that one must take. Overall amazing experience, and go in the early morning times, less sun to deal with while coming back down.

Absolutely beautiful hike! There is an entrance fee and reservations are recommended but they were kindly letting us in without it. Very nice hike and stunning view from the top. Some leftover military buildings you can see and visit. Water fountains are available at the bottom of the crater. No dogs allowed.

About 1.8 mile round trip hike with great views. Continuous uphill hike with several flights of stairs. Recommend to go early in the morning before it gets too hot. Make sure to take at least 2 to 3 liters of water. Once you reach the top, the views are amazing. This is one of the places you must visit if you are in Oahu, Hawaii. It's bout 10 to 15 min drive from Waikiki Beach.

Great hike! I definitely recommend arriving early, as the park fills up quickly. After 10, it gets really hot and the hike becomes more of a chore. Right now, there is no outdoor mandate for masks in Hawaii. The signs that say masks are required in the park appear to only be required when within six feet of others at the entrance, and when buying things, also at the entrance. There is no enforcement of masking on the hike. We chose to park at the park, which is 10$ for a vehicle and you have to wait for a spot to open up. The trade off is that your car is not likely to be broken in to while on the trail. If you've hiked other hikes in Hawaii, you know break-ins are a problem, so 10$ is worth it. After your hike, cool off with a dole whip, (pineapple ice cream), or a pineapple smoothie. There are also mango smoothies and lots of other refreshments available at the small stands towards the right of the trail entrance. There is an area with picnic tables and shade trees to the left of the trail entrance. It's 5 dollars a person to hike the trail, (unless you're local). There are 3 machines to pay for tickets, (located to the left of the trail entrance) and they accept credit cards. The attendant in the booth on the left as yoy walk towards the trail will take your receipt, or check your HI ID. The trail starts off smooth paved, and then transitions into a rocky paved, but is solid, paved ground all the way. There are a few portions with stairs, all towards the summit. Be careful on your way down the stairs, we saw 2 people almost fall, as their legs were tired from the climb. You experience that the most on the way down, believe it or not. Bring water on the hike. At least a liter per person should cover you. There is some shade in the beginning of the hike, and a cave towards the end, (no way to rest in the cave, it's stairs and a tight squeeze in passing two way traffic). Otherwise, you are exposed to the sun, especially if it is directly overhead during mid-day hours.

Lovely hike, well setup for almost anyone to get to the top. Took about an hour to climb to the top and about half an hour to climb down. The view is incredible from the top. I would recommend going early before it gets too hot. Honestly, it was a great little morning activity, and I would recommend.

This is a must see when visiting Oahu. The hike was steep and challenging but the views were amazing and worth it! There were plenty of spots to rest or have a seat on the way up. Hand rails were a good surprise! The Area was very well kept, bathrooms, water refilling stations, etc. We were there for the full 2 hour reservation, the hike itself took 90 minutes round trip (2 slightly out of shape adults and 3 energetic boys).

Good for families. Parked in the park. Bring enough water. West s hat. Go to the bathroom before you start. Moderate hike with flat and uneven trails. Not a straight path. Some stairs. Rails available. Dark tunnel to go through. Once you reach the summit. Check out the now and the bunker. Go at your own pace. There are some chairs along the way and scenic spots to rest and take pics. Good time.

Breathtaking hike and Breathtaking view once you get up there. Very dry and hot walking up in mid day. If it's sunny you better get a hat and plenty of sunscreen and water. Best to hike up in morning or 4 pm. Gate closes at 6 pm and you will be stuck inside thr park.

Prepare for an exciting adventure by lacing up your comfortable hiking boots or sneakers! This trail is both steep and stunning. However, it's important to note that it's not suitable for individuals with unmanaged asthma or limited mobility. The path starts off smooth but quickly becomes uneven pavement, featuring numerous stairs and a couple of tight tunnels that might challenge your claustrophobia. Once you conquer this trail and reach the summit, the $5 fee is well worth it for the breathtaking views. If you're planning to visit, be sure to make reservations in advance as walk-ins aren't allowed, and please leave your pets at home. While driving is an option, parking is limited, so I recommend using a ride-sharing service for convenience.

Absolutely brilliant view out here. Along the trail the crater become very clear. It is quite the sight to see. Once you reach the top the view only gets better. The old bunker is pretty amazing to check out from the inside and out. And at the very top you get a very clear view of the ocean, Honolulu and the mountains in the middle of the island. Check it out it is worth the climb.

What a great experience and what a great view from the top. Being out of shape, the hike did make my wife and I work, but we made it up fairly quickly. This is more of a rugged hike compared to some of the paved bikes in Hawaii, but it’s still manageable for most people and the view is well worth it.

Great little hike for the family to see some great views! Don't touch the hand rails or your hands will turn rusty brown. Don't try going to the top with a stroller or someone way out of shape. Bring and drink water!

If you love to hike and like a bit of a challenge, this is the place for you. The hike is absolutely worth it when you reach the top. The views are a beautiful vantage point. Also, do it with audio tour so you hit every historical highlight.

Great hike with beautiful views along the way. Fun to walk through the tunnel, and climb inside an old WWII bunker at the top. Busy place, unfortunately not handicap accessible other than the parking lot with steep, uneven surfaces in many places and stairs but still a great hike!

Typically with a restaurant like this (beachfront in a high tourist area) you're really paying for the location. I was pleasantly surprised to find that was NOT the case with Duke's Waikiki - everything was perfect. The host (Faye) and our server (Krissie) were both so great. Faye was really welcoming and answered a few questions I had. Krissie was great from start to finish. She was pleasant, funny and very attentive even though she was quite busy. I booked about a month in advance for mine and my husband's anniversary dinner and we were sat at a lovely table. Upon being seated, one of the glasses had broken due to the cutlery resting inside. We were offered a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. I thought that was really customer oriented since we didn't mention it or anything, it was just offered right away. I did the ravioli which was delicious and my husband did the buffet they offered at the time. We did receive a free dessert for our anniversary which was absolutely DELICIOUS. Everything was great - impeccable customer service, great food and a lovely location.

We stopped in on a Sunday and joined the wait-list. We had family visiting who wanted to go here and it's def for the tourists. It took about an hour, hour and a half to get a table. We were sat inside in a room with very little atmosphere, and it was obviously very busy. I'm not sure what the seating is like towards the water but this little side room was not enjoyable, and it was packed full of larger, loud groups. We ordered coconut shrimp, wontons, ribs, steak, and tacos. The apps were great and entrees were fine, no stand outs, no problems. The hula pie was the best part of the meal. It's probably a good family friendly option if you're staying in Waikiki but we felt the whole experience didn't live up to expectations. Our poor sever was in charge of what seemed to be our whole dining room. She couldn't check in very much given how many tables she had, but she was very friendly. Overall it was fine, nothing wowed us, but we wouldn't go again, even if visitors request it. We'll just drop them at the door next time.

It’s a Waikiki institution, so you should go, but the food and service were meh. It’s right on the beach and open-air, so nice ambiance. Our food came out lukewarm and our server, who brought the food out (late, as the food seemed to have sat for a while = why it was cold) was just okay. We ordered the calamari and coconut shrimp appetizers and the fish and chips meal. They came out at the same time, not coursed out. They would have been great if served hot, but alas.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this establishment because it was on the beachfront and so I didn’t know if the food would be good as the view here… But both were wonderful. Their cocktails were amazing as well. I had the Endless Summer cocktail and it was very tasty. The food was really good as well. My partner had the ribs with chicken (forget the name of the dish) and it was really good. I had the mango bbq bacon burger. Also good. Our waiter was very professional and nice as well. Overall, a pleasurable experience and I would highly recommend.

One of the best dining places in Waikiki Beach, great food and service. Their lobster and hula pie were delicious. This is a “must go” restaurant if you visit this area. While their staff is friendly and helpful, due to high demand the wait time can be an issue. The best way is to make a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance so you eliminate the wait time.

Duke’s is a must when visiting Waikiki beach! We have been a few times, mainly for lunch recently. We’ve been eating on the bar patio. Views are amazing!! We have had great service every time. Our favorites have been the fish tacos, poke tacos, and kale & Caesar salad with fish.

I have tried their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is good. I haven’t come across anything that I didn’t like. My favorite part is the breakfast. You have to get there before 7 (when it opens) because a lot of other people like it too. There is a huge fruit and breakfast buffet. Their drinks are good as well and I feel as though you get more for your money here. They give out full glass Drinks. You can eat/drink inside or outside. The bar has been full every time I’ve been there (minus breakfast). Like most places here, you have to watch out for the birds.

Me and my wife went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Dukes gave us the best seat in the house with an incredible view. But the atmosphere is incredible, I've never eaten at a restaurant like this before. Make sure to make your reservations as early as you possibly can, this place is a gem. 11/10 will definitely go back at least one time next time we're in Waikiki. The food was phenomenal, and the staff members at dukes were awesome. They were all extremely polite, and helped us decide on what we wanted to eat because everything on the menu sounded incredible. I highly recommend this place to anyone!!! You will not be disappointed 👍😁❤️

My group only came here for drinks. We wanted to enjoy the afternoon right on the beach. Fortunately we were able to get an outside seat without any wait. The view and atmosphere was spectacular. The mixed drinks were great and they had a small beer selection. This place isn’t cheap but you’re paying for the atmosphere. It’s totally worth it.

I went for a birthday brunch on a Wednesday. I had called them earlier and made a reservation while also telling them we were coming for a birthday brunch and requested an Oceanview. On the phone they said they'll be making our dine-in experience special with the view and a birthday treat: and none of that happened. They gave us a corner view on the patio and no mentions were made about the bday. Our server seemed preoccupied and out of it. I came for a special birthday brunch and felt let down by the restaurant. On the brightside, the food was decent and the atmosphere was amazing.

This is a nice bar to hang out at with an awesome view of the ocean if you get a table near the balcony. They also host events and have live music. Went on new years eve and they made it a an awesome party with live music and a DJ. The bartenders know their craft well but it is very fast paced and they didn't shake my margarita like I expected them to. Had to dilute the drink myself. The food is a little pricey but it is definitely delicious. Minus that the care and service is outstanding, everyone is so kind and pays attention to every step of your dinner. My girlfriend has a peanut allergy and they noted several times "here is your food, the chef made sure there your food is good and peanut free!" Very courteous and genuine. The Manager Mike is also a very kind man.

Outstanding location with 3 hours free parking. Set on a roof top, my family was celebrating the renewal of vows for my son and daughter in law. Outdoor seating was excellent. Our waitress was the bomb helping everyone in her area. Food was good, but the cocktails were outstanding. Then it happened. The Sun set and the views were spectacular. Even the staff took a second to take pictures. Really great outdoor dining experience.

Came in on a busy Thursday night a week before Christmas. We made a reservation ahead of time and got seated around our time on open table. Service was good even on a busy night. The food was pretty good and we had a decent nighttime view of Waikiki with some live music. Would come back for drinks.

Fantastic service, delicious food and incredible drinks! This place gave us the true Hawaiian feel. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu and what was included in each dish. We reserved a table and had just a few minute wait to be seated. Food was served quickly and the server was attentive but not annoying. The view is breathtaking. Be prepared to spend some money though, but it was so worth it! Will definitely be back if I ever make it to Hawaii again!

This place was fantastic! I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The first hostess we encountered was not very friendly and was quite off-putting, but every other employee was very nice. Our server was just the sweetest most kind person, she was wonderful! The vegan pasta was INCREDIBLE, as was the pineapple creme Brulee! The guava glazed ribs were also very good. I would absolutely go back!

Nice place, lively but not too wild. Live band and open air seating made it perfect. Service was friendly, attentive, quick, and accurate. Food was lacking salt for my dishes but the other dishes for those in my group said it was perfect. Dessert was really great.

Good atmosphere and vibe with friendly staff. As visiting Australians, the food was pricey, but everywhere is in Hawaii at the moment with our dollar. Food was good but not outstanding but there's a nice "island vibe" to the menu. The 1944 Mai Tai with a souvenir glass is a tasty drink and gives you a nice souvenir. Would go back but maybe only for drinks next time, not the food.

This place is really fun and lively. The food arrived very fast. My favorite was the calamari Katsu. We were seated outside in the terrasse, there's a nice view of the ocean. The staff is very friendly. The litchee martini was not good at all, try another drink :p and I didn't really enjoy the tartare, but the ribs, calamari and pineapple creme brulee were excellent!!

We were looking for a late night snack and decided to visit Tikis Grill and Bar. The patio has a great view of waikiki beach. We were originally offered a table inside the restaurant but it smelled like beer had been baking in the sun for awhile. The host was kind enough to move us to the patio. Our server was excellent. Took our order and kept checking on us without being intrusive. The drinks were good. We enjoyed the ginger gimlet, strawberry squeeze, and lychee martini. The Butterfly Sunset martini was good but needed to be chilled more or shaken a tad longer because it was on the warm side. The watermelon salad was refreshing. The Volcano wings were ok. The wings were a good size and spiciness good. Unfortunately the skin was not crispy and may have benefitted with a batter or just fried longer. The crispy brussel sprouts were good. Ahi poke wonton sliders looked yummy. The truffled garlic edamame was not very good. The sauce destroyed the natural yumminess of Edamame. Less is more. Overall it was a good experience tonight. if we come back I would try other menu items.

The food, service, and atmosphere are on point here. No matter what we tried, we failed to be disappointed. The staff is super attentive, but not bothersome. The live music added to the great atmosphere and made this a nice night out. Great for kids or even a date night with the lady.

Very nice restaurant on Waikiki, live music and great cocktails. On the cocktail menu you can get free novelty jugs with special cocktails so look out for this offer. The food was well prepared and packed good flavour. Hosting was also good! I would return again.

We went and ate at Hula Grill on the first night that we arrived in Hawaii and I was so pleased with the quality of the food. It was absolutely phenomenal! The Mai Thais are incredible, calamari was the best I've ever had and the shrimp carbonara was delicious! I am so pleased with the service. Overall it was a great experience, wonderful atmosphere and very kind staff but service was a bit slow most of the time, especially during the mornings and afternoon. Dinner wasn't as slow, surprisingly. Can't wait to eat there again 😍

Hula Grill sits right above Duke's Waikiki. The atmosphere is great. We sat in the bar area for happy hour. The pork ribs, fish and chips, and burger were great! The Lemonade Slush drink was well balanced with a good pour. We finished off with some hula pie, which was phenomenal. A great start to our trip and stay in Waikiki. Five stars!

Hula pie is the size of your head and wonderful. It’s a hazelnut ice cream pie covered in chocolate. Had the seafood stew which is a coconut Thai tasting soup full of seafood. Amazing. And the view…. Will make you cry. Top 10 restaurant visits of my life and I travel as much as a pilot. Also the service Was fast and good. Lots of staff to keep everything going. Duke’s downstairs has live music and seems more popular, but.. it’s the same restaurant/menu and when you are upstairs you can see past everyone’s head straight to the ocean while still enjoying the live music. Price was typical for the area, but not bad.

Although there was a short wait, the experience overall was top notch. We had a great seat with a view of the sun setting. The bread and their special sauce were a delicious twist on sweet and sour. The Korean wings were as good as the presentation. My chicken was fresh and the sauce brought out all the flavors. It had a smoky grilled flavor with guava sauce. The noodles were not the best but the shrimp were. Both drinks accomplished the goal and the staff are very pleasant.

Poke tacos and seared ahi were amazing. Nice views and shade from the patio. You still get all the music and vibes from Dukes below, but without the crazy crowds and wait time (when we went for dinner on Saturday, it was 1.5hr wait for Dukes and nothing for Hula Grill). Nice portions for the price and really fresh fish. Excellent service. Thanks 😁

Service was super friendly and attentive! Was able to grab a quick dinner without waiting since we sat in the bar area. They had mushroom fries, which is something I’ve never seen before. They were pretty good. I got the fish tacos—one grilled and one fried. They were not bad, the corn was a nice added touch but wish it came with more sauce. They did a good Mai Tai. 🍹💕

From start to finish this was such an amazing dining experience. The hostesses were so kind and helpful and our waitress Ocean was so nice and prompt. She gave us great suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband got the peanut butter bacon French toast which did not disappoint and I got the Big Kahuna Burrito with breakfast potatoes in the burrito (Ocean’s suggestion and she nailed it). For our drinks we had the Iced Chata and the Bloody Maria, whoever the bartender was can work magic. The weekend brunch is where it’s at and the views are top notch!

Very nice restaurant with different seating areas. Best is beachside seating area but also seating area around bar was very nice. Waitress were friendly,helpful adding nice atmosphere to the place. It’s usually busy, so you may have to wait for a while until being seated. Food was great adding more good reason to why I should go back there again.

Everything was lovely! Went for a birthday, they brought a delicious dessert! Highly recommended a reservation.

Such a great dinner spot in Waikiki! Loved the focaccia and highly recommend the macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi. Also enjoyed the rainbow sorbet. Super friendly staff and a beautiful view!

Decided to eat here instead of Duke’s. Walked right up to the bar with no wait while Duke’s was already at an hour. Bartender’s were nice, funny and enjoyable to be around. You get the live music from below since it’s open to the ocean side. Can get tables setting there as well. Food was good and didn’t take long to get. Definitely worth going back to.

Although the line was long down the street corner, it went through very quickly (30 mins) , there are staff cleaning and organizing tables, so it's not like people would fight for one. I'm not a big fan of thick noodle but I do enjoy it along with their light broth, it was so comfort. We get to pick out our own tempura and how many we want them.

This place was recommended to us by three different people who were locals. It is a no frills kinda place. You go through a cafeteria style line to get what you want. They were making the noodles fresh when we walked in the door. The food was fantastic. There is always a pretty long line to get in for dinner. We came back for lunch and the line was considerably shorter. Well worth the wait. The only reason I didn't give a five for atmosphere is because it is a no frills place. You get your food, you eat, you leave.

I tried Japanese noodles for the first time and totally loved it. Long wait worth it. This place is always busy which proves how good the food really is. Tempura shrimps, fried fish and veggie fried ball as a side order was a nice combination. The wait is long but service is super fast. One of unique taste!

Best meal we had in Oahu. The Udon is amazing. We loved it so much we ate here twice. Don’t be discouraged by the long line as it tends to move pretty quickly. Everyone seemed to be able to find table seating too, so don’t worry about that either. Highly recommend!

5/5! After a night out with my friends, we were all hungry and wanted something good to eat. After looking over the reviews, we ended up at Marugame Udon and I can say, this place did not let down! We absolutely loved it here. The Food: After browsing the menu, there were so many options that I wanted to try. However, I ended up with the Curry Nikutama. Comes with beef, soft boiled egg and their house curry sauce. The flavors of this dis was outstanding! The beef was nice and tender, full of flavor. The whole dish was perfect. I also paired my meal with some shrimp tempura, and oh man. It was delicious. The crunch from the batter was perfect and it was lightly battered enough where the portions just felt right. The Service: Service was great. This place can get really busy, so you may be in line for a bit. However, it's almost cafeteria style, so it moves by quick! The Atmosphere: The indoor seating area has plenty of space. However, due to its popularity, it can get very crowded, so they encourage people to eat at a pace so that other people have a chance to sit down as well. Overall a clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Overall, a 5/5! Highly recommend trying Marugame out! We loved it so much, we came back, even though we wanted to explore new food options.

Marugame Udon truly lives up to the hype! The food is absolutely amazing, offering a unique and delicious menu that will leave your taste buds begging for more. What's even better is that their prices are incredibly affordable! It can get very busy and the lines can be long, but trust me when I say it's definitely worth the wait. If you are on a time crunch though they do offer take out that you can order through a separate window or through their website. This restaurant is a must-try!

Someone leaned over in line and said “We ate here yesterday, it is worth the wait” And no joke… wait in the line. Just do it. The food is amazing and very affordable. The employees work very hard to move the line fast and they split the tips, so please tip generously!

Nice udon and finally found a vegan version 💪 love that they have vegan options And that it is so affordable with only 8.95$ for the small one (which is plenty). The broth has no veg only noodles and tofu crumbs which is a bit disappointing Also it is quite popular so you will have to wait in line - which is fine though. Only thing is that it is more like a diner - so it’s quite hectic inside. They have tempura which is nice and also some spices to add some chili and so on.

Don't be afraid of the long line outside, because this one is worth your time to come out a try for yourself. All handcrafted and prepared fresh right in front of you. From Tempura to Udon and many sides to add aside your bowl, this was a delight to indulge in for sure. Beware though! This place is fast-paced in and out eating. Not a place to relax for hours on end.

Super delicious upon. Line took forever as it was a city block long all day everyday. They move quickly so it is just because it is so popular. Sweet beefed with black pepper sauce was amazing. My wife does not like black pepper and even she thought it was outstanding

Had to wait in line for half an hour but completely worth it. I’ve beef udon and it was simply perfect. From the texture of the beef to the taste and consistency of the soup and the noodles, everything was amazing. Price is affordable too.

Had a lot of flavor and fresh toppings. The fries were also really good. cocktails, beers and spirits are also available. There's a bar in here as well as normal seating. The cocktails are generous servings and are quite nice. The service was good , our waiter checked on us periodically making sure everything was good Pricing is appropriate relevant to other local establishments. Highly recommended!!!

All my boys want to have burgers so we chose this place, very close to the beach and their food is yummy. The table next to us is 4 Japanese guys, looking at how they use fork and knife cutting beef patties into small pieces then eat, I feel like American way’s not civilized😅. Their table is so clean after they left and we were dripping sauce everywhere, but I still prefer our way, feels like we can enjoy more when we take big bite. Maybe the burger feels the same way 🤣. The burger is very good, I love they put grilled pineapple into burger which gives the meat a nature sweet flavor and fresh feeling after. So you wouldn’t feel too oily and hard to digest.

We went here for breakfast, & we had a great experience. I got the breakfast burger with rice in the side. The burger was awesome, & was very filling. The rice was okay. My wife got the omelet & hash browns, they seemed good. There coffee was was surprisingly good for a diner. By that I mean it didn’t taste like water. We also got the mango strawberry smoothie which was delicious. We also got the cinnamon rolls which were SO good. Nice vibe overall & a food place for kids.

Having a meal here is always on our to-do list when in Hawaii. Even with the 35 minute wait, it was worth it. Their August special, the All is Good burger was delicious and juicy. We also tried their Steakhouse burger and it was equally as great. Our family loves coming back to this place because we always leave satisfied.

The food was really good here. I love when places have a decent kids menu and isn't some generic hot dogs and burgers. The kids hot dog was fat and juicy and the kids burgers were little sliders. All the food here was delicious! Our server, Alissa was very attentive and she was making sure we were good even from afar. The only reason I am deducting 1 star is because our table was not cleaned properly. The chairs were dirty, the ketchup bottle was greasy and there was a hair on the ledge. Which led me to believe that they don't clean properly after every guest leaves. We took baby wipes and wiped everything down because that hair on the ledge was bugging me and I didn't want it to fly onto my burger. Besides that everything else was good. Great location too!

Love this place! Happy-hour filet sliders and tacos are delicious! Also love the burgers! It was close to our hotel so we frequently stopped in for a couple drinks and some food during our visit. Staff is awesome and friendly! Will definitely come back!

While vacationing in Waikiki Beach, Honolulu for several days I simply wanted some plain ol American style breakfast. And this place was a touch of the homestyle breakfast spots back home in the Carolina's. The breakfast price was very reasonable, better yet priced right. Beer was cold, lunch and dinner menu was very delicious. During out stay My girlfriend and I frequently visited this place because the food was good, drinks were as well, plus in which they kept a steady cold temperature and it was within a block from our room. We definitely enjoyed the scenery along the walk to this place with a beach front view. Definitely recommend this place if you're in town.

Being right on the main road by Waikiki Beach, one could argue this is as close to paradise as one can get. Beyond that, the food is very down to earth, lacking flavor and somewhat overpriced. A lot of burgers on the menu, but breakfast is offered until 11 am. Portions are sized right, and the service is quick and friendly. The food could use a little more attention to be spot on.
