Beautiful church. Very unique. You need to pay to enter. I also heard a sermon in English. I think they do English sermons on Monday afternoon. I am not Christian so I can't rate from prayer/sermon/praying facility point of view but still I can say that it is very nice and unique church in the whole world

It has a remarkable structure that beautifully combines nature and modernity. The church is carved into rock, resulting in an interior illuminated by natural light pouring through the skylight. The incorporation of exposed rock walls and a copper dome brings together a touch, enhancing the overall atmosphere.

We loved the church very much. It’s a unique place to visit. The church is built into the existing rock. This makes the place even more unique from the acoustic point of view. Inside is so peaceful: quite and beautiful piano music was playing the whole stay 💕 definitely must be visited

It's one of the most stunning churches I've been too and a brilliant example of contemporary architecture. It has a great calming vibe and is divided into 2 levels. View from the top level is better.

A beautiful, quiet place to visit in Helsinki. The copper top and the organ is impressive. You can hike around the back and see trees growing on top of it all. It was crowded but we were able to get tickets and go right in.

The church looks cool from the outside, but please, pay the small amount of admission fee and check out what's hiding inside. The workers there are really kind and cheerful, and the church is absolutely stunning. You can take the stairs to check it from the first floor as well. If you are really tired, you can take a seat and admire the architecture from there. There is also nice organ music playing in the background.

It's a very interesting concept to built a church in the rocks. The copper dome is really amazing. In general I liked the feeling of being in the church but I would prefer the music to play louder. I would definitely recommend a visit.

A must-try attraction when you visit Helsinki. Very beautiful, peaceful and holy place to not only Christians but also tourists. A special church was created by carving into a huge stone. So the locals call it as "the stone church". There are often many musical performance here and I usually spend some free time to listen music here to balance my life and work. Highly recommended

This is really a very beautiful church. Unfortunately there are mostly a lot of tourists. Therefore it is not really silent in this church. It sounds more like waiting at the railway station. Sometimes a lady talks through the speakers to be more silent, but this helps only 5 seconds... For me a fun fact: Even citizens of Finnland are not allowed to enter this church without paying the entrance fee... 😂

Beautiful and very peaceful. Ideal place to do your prayers and Quuet Time. There is always a soft muzak playing although personally the selection could be more serene to complement the ambience. Beautiful architecture and design.

This was probably the coolest thing we did in Helsinki. You take a ferry to the island. There are a lot of trails, we mostly stayed on the blue line with only a couple deviations. The River that cuts through the middle was awesome. Near the end you can walk up a hill toward some cannons. Don’t miss this!! There are little mounds that look like a hobbit city!! It’s a really cool landscape you can explore. You get great views of Helsinki from the cannon area too! We went into an art shop on the way back and they had some REALLY cool stuff that the locals that LIVE on the island make. Very talented people!! Loved this excursion!!

A must visit when in Helsinki. Great ferry trip there, which is especially good in nice, warm weather. You can walk around the island in about 90minutes comfortably (and with some beers).

Nice fortified island in front of the old Helsinki port. It's just 15 minutes ferry ride to it from Kauppatori quay. Take your time to walk around the island after visiting the fort museum. Be mindful though of the residential areas in which people live, indicated by a small blue sign with a house in it.

Really lovely place. Definitely recommend a visit to walk around and enjoy the nature. Best time is during the summer when the weather is warm and sunny and all the places are open. However during wintertime this little island has a totally different vibe which is also interesting to experience.

This was a really cool experience for me, went with a friend during the week and the best part the transportation was included in my 5 day city transport pass. One of the coolest things on the island to see are the cannons, the shipyard and the surrounding views. It's just a really nice place for a chill walk.

Super cool island that is easily accessible via ferry or seabus. Beautiful walk along the ramparts and interesting to see all of the huge cannons up close. A few cafes on one side where one can have lunch, just be wary that they will often only be serving lunch from 12-14:00.

Very nice island to visit. It’s free of charge (except you want to go inside the museums), You can reach it by the ferry from Market Square. The ferry is a part of the transport system, so the standard fare applies (3.10€ per person). You can buy the ticket at the machine next to the harbour. Try to go there on a sunny day. I bet it’s much nicer than the rainy weather we had.

Place to enjoy at least one whole day. Several ferries to Helsinki city also after midnight. Several museums on the islands (maybe, the more interesting is the military one), but generally, nice to stroll around the fortress.

We visited in autumn, and this island makes for a good half to one day trip from Helsinki. There are many different museums here (you need to pay per entrance if you don't have the Helsinki card), but our personal favourite was the World War 2 submarine and war museums. There are also historical buildings you can visit, and you can also get scenic views of the sea here. Everything is within Walkable distance, takes about an hour to two to walk non-stop from one end to the other end. There are also different restaurants here for food if you want to try it out, but nothing caught our eye. We did try an ice cream stall that sold 1 cone for 4.50 euros. As this is a tourist spot, expect things here to be pricey if you're spending money, even the church charges an entrance fee. Otherwise you can also bring your own food and have a picnic here, the King's Gate is quite a good place to sit and chill. Do check the weather before coming here though, as it was raining when we were here and that somewhat affected our experience as most of the places are unshelthered. Overall an interesting attraction to visit with different activities. Highly recommended as a half to full day excursion from Helsinki. You can reach this place via a public ferry that departs every 20 minutes from the Market Square.

A cool fortress just a short ferry ride away from Helsinki. Interesting preserved architecture and nice views of the surrounding area. An interesting museum can also be found on the island. The views of Helsinki from the ferry are also great. Definitely worth a visit. In February the island was covered in snow and ice, but was still a great experience.

Good place to visit. The guided walking tour is definitely a good think to buy, otherwise you won’t get the context you need to understand the places you’ll pass by while exploring.

Amazing islands with lots of museum attractions. The icing on the cake is the opportunity to visit the submarine. Buying a full-day public transport ticket in Helsinki (€ 9) we have a ferry to the islands for free.

If you have to visit one thing whilst in Helsinki then this should be at the top of your list. A mere 20 mins ferry ride from the Helsinki harbour front you will find Suomenlinna. Tickets for the ferry can be purchased at the pier. It is a preserved site, township and fortress. Absolutely stunning things to see all over the island with information scattered across each famous landmark so it is easy to self tour the place yourself. Several museums available to visit too. Most of the houses are private residential areas so it is important to respect their privacy. Spent a good 2.5 hours there just roaming around and taking in all the sights and surroundings. Cafes, restaurants and souvenirs are also available. Must see so don't miss this place.

Great day spent at Suomenlinna. A must see if in the Helsinki area. 20 minute ferry ride is beautiful. Our 6yr old loved the underground tunnels. Spectacular views everywhere. Great cafes around the island.

We’ve only visited the Cathedral from outside. This white coloured structure forms an iconic view from the yard in front of her. She is beautiful. If you’re visiting Helsinki for very short time even for a transit, this place is a place for “must visit”.

Helsinki Cathedral is, I think, one of main attractions in Helsinki. And for reason - Helsinki Cathedral is a magnificent building. With its robust appearance it entices full buses of tourists, and why not Finnish tourists, too, to admire its shiny white walls and green domes. The inside of the cathedral isn't any dissappointment, either, so in my opinion, the church is absolutely worth of visit.

Of course, going to Helsinki for me meant visiting churches and cathedrals. I think this one is where you'll see most tourists, for a reason. It's located next to the parliament as well, and the view from up there is incredible. I didn't take any picture of what it looks like inside. It's small and clean. Very white.

We have been here during wintertime and enjoyed the impressive building from the outside. There are big stairs in front of the building you need to climb to get to the church. Inside it was a bit disappointing since the walls are mostly just plane white. Even if it says the entry fee is five euros it is free since the fee is voluntary. We spent there about ten minutes in total.

One of the Helsinki top attractions. Compared to the Russian cathedral - well, it's doesn't have such a rich decoration , it's way more simple. But still, it's magnificent and you can see it from the board of the ship, even before you reach the passanger terninal.

The cathedral is beautiful both from inside and outside. It’s very soothing and calm. You can also take a walk outside and sit outside it on the huge stairs peacefully and spend time and have conversations. Loved the place.

One of Helsinki’s many landmarks. Definitely worth stopping by during the day, but at night time it’s particularly beautiful. Great photo opportunities around the large square surrounding it. There’s special activities and events that take place throughout the year in this square. Also, this is where the opening sequence in the music video for “Darude - Sandstorm” was filmed!

Lots of stairs!!!! It’s iconic to the city though so I say it’s a must do. I walked in during a service and it was crazy busy standing room only and that’s the only time in 20years of traveling in Europe that I’ve seen that happen. It’s very pretty on the outside not so much on inside. The real charm is the adjacent square where you can take pictures, grab refreshments, and people watch.

It’s a beautiful cathedral which was constructed with recycle bricks due to budget restrains. Although it’s modest size, the cathedral is fitted very elegantly with beautiful paintings and decorations. Be mindful not to use your camera flash inside as there are many valuable artwork. Give yourself a minimum of 30 minutes to enjoy this spectacular building.

Located on a short climb up the hill, this is a very interesting place to admire the Eastern Orthodox Church architecture from outside and inside. It was quite the experience to experience the grand exterior and interior of the cathedral. No information boards if you're coming here alone, and the church interior is not all that big, but still okay to visit on your own. Recommend the experience as entrance into the cathedral is free, unlike other more famous churches in Helsinki.

A beautiful Russian cathedral that you can see from many different parts of Helsinki due to the hill it’s built on. The architecture is also quite unique compared to other buildings in the city so it’s a refreshing visit. The inside is equally as beautiful and if you have the chance I’d recommend. There was a service going on while I was there so only got a bit of a glimpse from the side.

It was a very beautiful Cathedral both inside and outside. It was about a 5-10 minute walk from the main Helsinki Cathedral, but worth the walk for the view. The inside was filled with the smell of incense for anyone with a sensitivity.

Helsinki 2nd famous cathedral. Architecture is influenced by Russian design and it is beautiful made with bricks. It is on small hill so when at above you get good view of near by places. Inside architecture is also good. Can't get enough of bricks color and preservation of the cathedral. There are few steps to climb before you see the main entrance. There are other ways to come. Very near to market and some food joints. It is crowded on most of the days.

Helsinki seems like a perfect place to have a walk, if you’re in introvert, because you can barely find any people outside. The Senate Square is no different 😄 It’s pretty famous place in Helsinki, must see location and I can see why. Senate square is such a beautiful place to visit. The buildings are gorgeous and it's worth the visit!

Beautiful square all seasons. Climb to the top of stairs to get a panoramic view. During winter, there is a Christmas market at the square with stalls selling handicrafts, local food and drinks. It's quite a beautiful experience to be in a snow covered landscape and warming up with mulled wine (glöggi).

This is a lovely square that is convenient to get to by bus. My only criticism is that we were using a wheelchair for my wife and it was not very friendly for handicapped access. It could be done only with patience and a lot of effort.

Waking though the streets of Helsinki, we ran into a building that looked very intriguing. Right before getting onto our fairy, we decided to walk in and had a wonderful cafe experience. The building host's a restaurant, bar and cafe. There were several options to choose from and the staff helped us order their favorites which were amazing! The staff were super friendly, polite and empathic. What a wonderful experience!

The restaurant was so good so we went there twice during our short trip in Helsinki. The salmon dishes (soup, grill) and beef are all excellent! The service was great as well.

Cozy and nicely decorated café with great coffee and a large choice of pastry so perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea time but also offers healthy and delicious snacks so great for brunch too. It’s a glasshouse and offers great view in the city center, near the cathedral and ferry for the nearby islands. A great place to warm up and rest feet after a day of sightseeing.

A famous Helsinki restaurant that started operation in 1867. Salmon salad was very delicious and risotto was slightly seasoned, so it may not suit Korean taste. The food is salty overall. Overall, the atmosphere was good and the staff was kind, so it was good.

The staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and the food is next level. Truly something special. I love how there is a whole menu for asparagus meals, and also love the options for vegetarian items. Everything was so delicious!

I love this place. It is so elegant! It brings me so much pleasure to just have some coffee and a piece of cake here. It is, of course, not cheap, but when we consider the ideal location and how good it looks, I can't say it is really expensive.

We came here for lunch as we're passing by, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the salmon dishes here. The meat was nicely seasoned and fried, and tasted juicy. There were a bit of bones stuck in meat, though the overall taste was decent. Service was average, one young man took the extra effort to make us feel welcomed, though another lady was somewhat colder in her service. Atmosphere was not too bad for a restaurant located at such a prime location and the price was also slightly on the higher end, as expected. If you like something fancy, this place is not too bad.

We visited here for my B-day, and I got surprised with a candle on top of the cake. Friendly staff, freshly made and delicious dishes. I would say everything was perfect!Highly recommended!

First meal in Helsinki and we started off on the right foot. The restaurant was in a beautiful building in a beautiful park. Great place for a date. The salmon on the soup was lightly smoked then grilled. It was the best salmon I’ve ever had. The soup was great too! Also loved the winter vegetables salad. A great introduction to Finnish food. We got some pastries in bakery too!

They have separate sections for cafe, restaurant and bar. So, feel free to go in when you need just a cup of coffee. A very spacious place inside and outside.

Amazing restaurant! This is kind of traditional restaurant with very rustic design. Food is exotic animals (like reindeer, Elk) and they are very well prepared. It was surprisingly tasty. We enjoyed a lot the place with different dishes and good atmosphere. Fully recommended

The door somehow got locked before the 5 o’clock seating. Customers were inside the restaurant dining but 3 parties were standing outside and could not get in for a few minutes after the hour. Once we got inside, it had a very rustic feel. Beautiful wooden beams everywhere and some fun historic decorations. The food was pretty good but not amazing. The seasonal dessert was flavorful. The salmon salad appetizer was very good. All portions were large and a good value for the price.

A wood cabin atmosphere in the city… So I was looking for a traditional Finish restaurant where I could experience the real deal cuisine from this interesting country and found this place. It’s like stepping inside a cabin in the middle of nature waiting for the northern lights to come out… ok so that’s the atmosphere, pretty cool and cozy feel. The menu is the easiest most straight forward I have ever seen. Most probably they change as the season evolves. Right now in early may it was about reindeer. So I started with a generous portion salad with their cheese which was more of a texture than flavor and continued with the roasted reindeer which could have been some type of beef as the flavor didn’t hint I was having a special gamy type of meat. The service was friendly and fast so overall I would recommend to check this place out but if I was to spend a week or more here I would not come back most probably basically for the lack of options. Very fair price I must say. Ok

If you ever go to Helsinki and want to have a great evening this is a great place. They have some very nice, typical Finish, dishes. The whole restaurant has a Finish theme. As you will see in most places, the menu is not too big, but whatever is on the menu seems to be quite good. There is only one downside here; the wooden chairs! Those are not too great to sit on, but the ambiance make that less painful.

The dining experience was lovely. The restaurant can get busy but the servers were very prompt and friendly. The decor seemed very catered for tourist but I enjoyed it. The Lapland salad was fresh and tasty, really enjoyable. The salmon was also fresh and well cooked. The reindeer shank was gamey (but I’m not sure about how reindeer should taste to begin with) but the mash and sauces complemented the meat well.

Very nice architecture (wooden furniture representing Lapland). I love the decorations! The food is pretty good. Salmon soup is mediocre but reindeer dishes are on point. The farm cheese desert is good.

Delicious! It was a unique and delicious dinner. We tried the sautéed reindeer and the whitefish. Both were perfect. Neither of us had tried reindeer before, and we both loved it. The fish had a perfect crust on the outside and tenderness on the inside. I enjoyed the sauce with the fish. Creamy and rich.

An ideal place for an initiation with Finnish cuisine, and above all, reindeer meat. I ordered everything traditional - salmon soup and reindeer in two versions. Each dish was polished, and the amount of salmon in the soup could easily compete with many traditional dishes 🐟. Really everything worth the price, plus the atmosphere of the restaurant is kept raw and traditional.

My experience at Lappi, was nothing short of exceptional. The food was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. I started with the salmon salad, and its flavors were simply divine. The freshness of the ingredients combined with a well-balanced dressing made it a perfect appetizer. For the main course, I decided to try the Reindeer entrecote, and it did not disappoint. The dish was a true delicacy, with the tender and succulent reindeer meat complemented by flavorful accompaniments. It's not every day that one gets to savor such a unique and traditional Finnish dish, and Lappi Ravintola certainly did justice to it. The service was top-notch, with the staff being knowledgeable about the menu and providing helpful recommendations. I appreciated the attention to detail and the genuine enthusiasm they had for the food they served. The delightful combination of great food, friendly service, and a warm ambience will leave you with a memorable dining experience that you won't soon forget.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place with their very locally inspired design and of course food menu. Emphasis is on fish and game meat dishes (reindeer). The restaurant is located fairly centrally and is easily accessible. Recommended to make a dinner reservation regardless of the day you are planning to visit. The platter for 2 and salmon soup are recommended. Would I visit again? Most definitely.

Great dining experience! This is an excellent option if you are wanting elevated Finnish cuisine. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. The standout for me though was the roasted reindeer. So tender and delicious. Definitely make a reservation.

We were an international group of 13 and everybody was more than happy with the food and great service! Most of us ate the classic menu with reindeer roast which was absolutely delicious! Also the location with the Helsinki Cathedral right across the street is stunning.

A restaurant that really does work to deliver on what it promises - traditional Finnish food, attentive service, explanations of dishes, and the offering of a pre-fix menu. Savotta may be a tourist-y restaurant, but the food it serves is very tasty. Meats like Reindeer, Elk, and Bear make appearances on the menu, served in non-pretentious ways. The potatoes were well prepared, the soup was delicious, and the sauces were fantastic. You’re paying a bit of a premium for the tourist appeal, but it’s still reasonably priced in my opinion.

Great traditional Finnish restaurant at the great location . The food was yummy even we tasted some of the dish for the first time. Friendly service with friendly attendants. Only complain is the portion of the food is quite small therefore we need to order many dishes.

Unique food at a very nice Helsinki location! Savotta has a unique Finnish menu with bear and deer on their menu. Excellent quality in the food, worth to try the traditional Finnish starters. They managed very well to take traditional menus from regions in Finland and make the food premium. Drinks menu is good too. There are many nice wines on the list, but if you dare go for the stronger liqueurs as well as here you can find many traditional schnapps like "Jallu", pontikka etc and actually they fit very well to the food served. Service is very good, staff love to explain their menu to visitors and atmosphere is very rustique despite a very urban location. Not a place for a good price ratio, but as they deliver a good quality experience 5 stars is well deserved.

This is an amazing rustic Finnish restaurant, with all the local delicacies. The best location if you want to try bear, moose or reindeer. I've been there twice and tried all three and boy are they delicious! Unfortunately they only had the small bear "between the courses" but it was great nonetheless. Sometimes they are full so I advise you make a reservation. The drinks are very good too, be sure to try pontikka! I was looking for it later in Alko but no luck...

we experienced really tasty finnish cuisine and would recommend it to everyone! food was well prepared and the staff were professional. our favourite was the bear meat! so unexpectedly tender and the broth was delicious. i really liked the appetiser plate too.

We went today to eat some traditional Finnish dishes. We were enjoyed the service and the food. If you want to try some traditional dishes this is the place. The location is also very nice. Highly recommended.

Pretty cool place to try some Finland dishes. We had reindeer stew and smoked salmon. Both were delicious. It has an eclectic ambiance. It is nicely located as well. Eccentric bathroom decor.

Excellent environment and food. They respected the Halal preference and avoided all kind of meat and alcohol from the menu.. one of the best fish was served. Perfect place to spend a winter evening with friends

Nice introduction to Finnish food. We tried the blinis (quite oily and stodgy), Finnish meatballs (salty), salmon soup (the best one by far!), roast chicken breast (small portion) and baked squeaky cheese (was very interesting - tasted like sweet halloumi in evaporated milk)

Food is only ok to my taste :) maybe I’m not a big fan of Finnish food! So don’t take my review personally. However, plus point for the vibe and decorations, also customer service is very good!

Nice restaurant in the center of Helsinki. Last time i visited was in the middle of the week and it was very busy. So probably reservation is a good idea. However i have walked in on a Sunday and it was empty. The food was quite good and the staff were friendly. I would say it is a little bit over priced for what it is though.

I referred to Google map to Zetor, but the map didn’t point it well. I asked the staff for recommendation of Finland sensation, and I was satisfied. Good service and happy being here. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The dinner was enjoyable.

The place is very cozy, the menu is written in more than 10 languages, and the attention to the customers is great! Had an amazing portion of creamy salmon soup. Very comforting and delicious!

"Come in, it's great!" was the sentence of a guest in front of this restaurant, so we ended up here. It was our first evening in Finland and we got a great first food-impression of this beautiful country. Food was delicious, beer was good and the atmosphere was between cozy and party. The restaurant is parted in an eating-area and bar-area. Something for everyone :) It's a bit pricey, but it's okay for one evening.

Great food, mix of local traditional and a few more international dishes. Staff were multilingual and friendly. Lighting is a little bit dark at first but once your eyes adjust its fine.

What a lovely restaurant. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff explained the menu to us very well in perfect English. Then the food arrived, absolutely delicious, so good we came back 2 nights later. The Reindeer is amazing and so is the Helsinki set meal 4 course. Cannot fault the place. Highly recommended.

Service was exceptional and made the experience infinitely better. They all spoke great English, were very knowledgeable, fun and ready to assist with whatever. The food was hearty, well thought-out and delicious. Prices are awesome for what you get. All in all, I would definitely recommend it. P.S. Their homemade malt bread is to die for.

Tradicional and classic restaurant. Multiple set menu’s available. Classic dishes stay on the menu like rain deer. Extensive wine list, wines imported by the restaurant themselves. Location is not in downtown. Unisex toilets with music was nice touch.

Absolutely amazing place. From lighting to desserts. We ordered special Kuu and Helsinki courses with wine pairings. I came across unusual combinations of flavors and, for example, white fish cooked in a special way was a discovery for me. The deer platter was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful

Indeed the most delicious food I ever had! The freshness and quality of the food is very high!! Staffs are amazing and lovely!!! And their chef is simply doing magic!!!! this restaurant is the only reason I’ll come back to Helsinki!!!

A restaurant with a long heritage serving traditional Finnish quisine. I went with one have their set menus consisting of popular local delicacies like salmon soup, reindeer meat, a sampling of local cheeses and finishing off with dessert. All these were complemented with a nice bread basket. The food quality was decent throughout, without being outstanding. Maybe some of the things were too new to my palate and I will learn to appreciate them more with time. The service was warm and friendly throughout.

I was alone but they showed me to a good seat by the window. I had a course of local food and a recommended beer. The beer, which was made in Helsinki, was fruity and very tasty. All the food was delicious and the service was friendly. The dessert was made with sea buckthorn, and it was very interesting to see a uniquely Finnish ingredient that I had never seen before. I would like to visit again.

We wanted to have a nice dinner with traditional Finnish food. The food was great and out waiter was very friendly. A big recommendation!
