I have heard there is not much to do in Havana but we spent few hours in the old town, there is really not much.. good to take lovely photos and to see great architecture, couple of cafes around.

One of the main squares in Havana, also known as Plaza Vieja or the Old Square. The square is surrounded by Cuban architecture building with amazing balconies overlooking the square. There are several places to eat but are very expensive. A lot of of events takes place here during the day and night. It is very lively, beautiful spot to take lots of pictures.

Very nice place to visit. Beautiful houses and good bars and restaurants. Of course it is very touristic place and they have touristic prices as well.

A pleasant square with variety of restaurants and i would really recommend Cafe Bohemia, they’ve really good food and starters.

One of my favorite for her beauty and elegance is Plaza Vieja or Old Square. You can see lovely examples of traditional Cuban architecture from colonial times found within the brilliantly colored glass windows, the beautiful balconies and the brightly colored hued buildings. Nowadays. Plaza Vieja remains a beautiful square filled with traditional Cuban architecture and a few outdoor cafes. It is picturesque area to walk around along the cobblestone streets and sweeping views of Havana's historical past.

Pleasant square with very well preserved buildings but missing some liveliness and too many people constantly asking us to change money. There are only a few restaurants in the square with open air seating. Otherwise it's a big open air square, no trees, seats or much else to make you stop. Worth checking out just to walk through.

This is a must see in Havana city,Cuba. One of the oldest places with the most history in Cuba. The surrounding areas are very beautiful as well and very clean. It has been a while since my last visit and can see that the state has done a lot of work keeping up the Old Havana alive.

Beautiful buildings surrounded by the most ugliest people misery. I wonder when the cuban government is going to take care of its nationals.

Nice peaceful plaza and cathedral. Not too crowded. Good to see from inside.

Must see if you visit la Havana 🇨🇺, the cathedral is beautiful, seems brand new, I think it is one of the main attraction to do in the center of the old Havana.

Interesting historical place to visit.

Beautiful plaza. The main cathedral is gorgeous as well although it's not open to tourists, at least not during my visit. A couple of museums nearby and restaurants as well. A bit pricey just to keep in mind since you'll be paying in CUC as a tourist.

Open parking lot. Not much to do besides take a picture of the buildings and see the cars parked in the lot. The museum was closed, so I didn’t get a chance to check it out.

Large open space surrounded by grey government buildings, the most popular landmarks would be the metal outlines of revolutionary figures. We arrived via a taxi tour but the hop on/off bus is an option as well. This spot doesn’t take too long of a visit, we were able to squeeze it in our itinerary.

An impressive huge square in front of the José Martí Memorial. And as always, you know you are at a tourist attraction when you see the display of vintage cars.

Nice to visit, a fortress used to defend against marauding pirates. This is a national treasure to Cuba. We really enjoyed the tapered defense stations for soldiers to sight and fire upon pirate ships with a well protected rock wall in front. Highly recommended to visit this site.

Cute. Small. Can easily be visited by yourself, but it’s so small that it’s not worth the mandatory pricey taxi ride to go up there.

Must visit if you are in Havana. The panoramic views of Havana from the fort are spectacular especially in the evening. The fort itself has some cannons and overlook windows along with some history. There is also a snack bar inside the fort.

Stunning views of all of havana from here. The fort is amazing and a should see while in Havana. Canons around the fort that you can photograph. It sits high on the hill so can get a lot of high winds. Learn the history and go see it.

A great view to see the new area of Havana from across the waterway that connects the Havana Port to the ocean.

Beautiful place. A must visit in Havana, having a great look of the city from atop the Canal.

We tried to go here today (April 2022) but the main entrance was closed, apparently all or most of the building is closed for renovations now. It turned out that the only thing available was the glass pavilion with Granma, the boat that Fidel used to come to Cuba to start the revolution. It seemed quite restricted as we couldn't bring our small backpacks nor take pictures, so we decided to skip that and just walk around the outside of that park and view it from the street.

The architecture, beautiful details and upkeep were fabulous. So much amazing things to learn and see from a foreigner's standpoint. This is a museum that I cannot wait to go back to learn more and enjoy. Only drawback was the one room was off limits for upkeep and restoration.

Museum in renovation for now so you can only see the outside with vehicles. They didn't change the entrance price but neither since inflation get crazy so it's 1$ to get in.. but still, I was only able to see just few vehicles with not that much history.. the main thing to see is the boat but it's quite well hidden behind not-so-transparent glass windows. You can't enter, there is no explanations about that boat so I wanted to sit and watch on Wikipedia but sitting was forbidden apparently so I just get out of this place with no more insight than when I entered, understanding Cuba is far from their original vision.

Wonderful place to visit, full of Cuban history. It is not a tourist trap. Admission includes seeing the yacht Fidel, Che, and Cienfuegos came on. The souvenirs were the best prices we've seen. The building was under renovation when we went, but that didn't hinder the beauty of it.

Cool museum with tanks planes ect, too bad most of it was under construction maybe in another 100 years lol

We enjoyed our experience immensely! Great ambiance, great servers, and great food. I recommend the marlin tacos and the watermelon gazpacho as a starter, the fish of the day and the slow-roasted pork as an entree, and the puff pineapple pastry as a dessert.

Restaurant itself is nice and rustic with a cool rooftop bar. Food is definitely overpriced for the quality and not worth it at all. Definitely a skip when in havana.

Went to dinner and a jazz night on the rooftop patio. Beautiful view, great atmosphere, good service and overall good food. On the pricier side, relative to options in Cuba, but realistically a very affordable nice meal/evening.

Happy with our fine dining experience here. The food was amazing as well as the service we received. Waited at the roof top bar until our reservation was ready. Just be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs once you arrive. Totally worth it!

The thing about Cuba is that the outside maybe so rustic but the inside looks classy. That's the same with this restaurant. Old world charm and class. I loved the atmosphere, professional staff and great overall service. Fine dinning restaurant and great separate rooftop bar.

Its been a few years since I have been there. Some fairly new staff that need some additional training for a level of standards La Guardia is known for. Still a go to if your on this side of the island. Still get the Puff Pastry!!! Still the best!

Our dinner at La Guarida was spectacular! From the hostesses greeting to the end of our meal, the entire experience was fantastic. The service was top tier and the food *chef's kiss. If I could give 10 stars, I would!! The fact that they played Stevie Wonder's birthday song for me made me cry.... It was such a fantastic experience

After reading the great reviews of this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. It is situated on the 2nd storey of a building with some nice colonial features. The menu is priced at the same level as you would be charged in Europe however, the quality and flavours fall way short of what you would expect at that price. My starter dish was only Luke warm when it arrived and had to ask for it to be reheated. The main dish, as seems typical here, was uninteresting and overly salty. I ordered a glass of red wine, of which there were only 2 options on the menu, somehow when the bill arrived they had managed to discover a third option which was almost double the price. I was not asked if I wanted that nor was I told of the price. Apparently they decided it was a superior wine, in their opinion not mine, and would charge me for it. After protesting the bill, it was reduced to the more expensive of the wine options. Frankly, I fail to see the allure of the food and certainly do not believe it merits the reviews given here.

Liked the ambiance, the cold soup and the desserts. The chicken was OK. The soup was delicious but it came in a very small size! Overall a pricey restaurant in Havana.

One of the best experience I had in Havana. They have live music with different kind of music’s, good food, nice ambience. You have to pay on entry all incl. Its a bit expensive but to compare with live music, dance show’s and quality of food&drinks it’s ok.

Lovely people here as everywhere really in Cuba. I needed to check in for my flight and the host was so kind to provide internet access through his own phone. We had the cubed and grilled pork with rice and beans. Tasty, fresh food. I could not get enough of the beans, I love black beans and am now ruined to them prepared any other way.

I came to the restaurant in the late afternoon (following a few hours on the beach) due to a recommendation in my travel guide. As mentioned by others, it's the last restaurant in a dead end street. Since it was around 4.30pm, there weren't many guests and I chose to sit outside. The service was quick and friendly. Since I was very hungry, I ordered 'ropa vieja' with beef (meal of the day) and a salad. To drink, I had a 'special mojito' and to piña colada. The portions were good and everything was very tasty. The bill at 4200 CUP/29 EUR was OK. After all, it's Old Havana. If I wasn't leaving Havana tomorrow, I'd come back!

First restaurant I’ve tried in Cuba. Excellent local food; pork, rice, beans. Simple, supposedly, and top notch. Don’t want to go anywhere else. Dad said it was the best lobster he’s had in years.

We had our last dinner on Cuba here and were not disappointed. It's not in the absolute top of what we ate but directly following. The staff was competent and friendly, explaining the menu to us. We went for croquettes and the Ropa Vieja which were both good. Prices are a bit higher than other places around but considering this is Havana and the quality of the food it all was good (and there are lots of restaurants in town charging more for inferior quality!). The place is also nicely decorated and very clean.

Very nice restaurant in city center of Habana. You can order chicken or pork steak with rice. As specialist they offer lobster. I recommend this place.

Amazing food and amazing staff. They brought us the food in minutes. Big portions and magnificent taste! Also prices are good. They deserve 5 stars in every way!

Everything was phenomenal my two faves, well 3 was the Lamb with rice and beans, the octopus salad, and the green lemonade since I don't drink alcohol.

We stopped by here for lunch just before 1pm but had to wait half an hour for a table. It wasn't an unpleasant wait though, as they have some nice chairs in the air conditioned waiting area at the entrance. They couldn't offer any of the breaded dishes that day so all the meat was just grilled. However it was still very very tasty, as were the fried sweet potato wedges. The sauteed vegetables were mostly cabbage and less of a success. We finished with a delicious Flan, as shown in the picture. I would definitely go here again, but perhaps make a reservation next time. Including the waiting we ended up spending two hours here. If you're not in a rush that's fine, because the food was good!

It is not a traditional Cuban cuisine: they focus on Spanish dishes. They didn't even have mojito. They try to push you to drink sangría instead. Food is just ok, but very overpriced. Everything is extra charged and each side dish comes for the price of a full meal in similar places. Waiters are not helpful at all and are there just to push you to spoil your money and order their expensive suggestions and "combos". NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

The service here was excellent and the food delicious. The menu appeared to be dramatically scaled down from what it once was and probably changes regularly depending on what is available, but the food they have is great.

On the second floor. Has live music. Very good $1.50 mushroom soup ☺️ Had chicken cordon bleu but they couldn’t bread it or deep fry it. I had them put a bechamel sauce on it. But turned out great. And the prices!!

I had a really good time here. Be aware there are three different floors: Cuban, Spanish & Italian. I’ve tried the Italian & Cuban. Both great, portion/taste wise. Italian one is a lot cheaper, I guess it’s because the surrounding is simple, less decorative. This is definitely the best place you can have decent food in Havana!!

This place is so cozy! Great food great drink great AC hey a place that doesn’t need that much explanations by by itself is just awesome and the prices are good not over priced at all a plus is the decoration of the dishes and one of the best mojitos a ever had

This is a must visit place with delicious Food. Divine mango daiquiri taste still haunts me in my dreams! The owner is very polite, looking quietly and carefully how his quests Are doing. You will be amazed with style, taste, presentation, music, professional staff and how clean it is. With order you just can’t miss, close your eyes and pick - all is excellent, full of flavor and taste. This restaurant saved me cause I had hard time to find clean and nice place to eat in Cuba so I was regular guest every day while in Havana. ( Yes, I am spoiled ). Prices are very moderate considering the quality. Location is perfect. Guys - thank you! Keep it going…. sending love from Croatia.

A fantastic “find” down in Old Havana. Everyone from the door person to the wait staff - and even the chef - made a point of greeting us. Very friendly team. We accepted the recommendation of the day which was a seafood platter for two and it did not disappoint. Very fresh lobster, fish, shrimp etc. after a few early disappointments in Havana this place has restored my optimism for the days ahead.

This is one of the best place we found to eat in Havana. It has a really cool environment with live music and attentive waiters. I did order the same thing on my first and second visit, and the dish came slightly different. Overall, I think it was worth the visit. One advice though is to avoid the special seafood platter. As thought it taste good, you can get individual meals that cost less.

Absolutely excellent! Best dinner we had in Havana & we've visited quite a few places. All dishes that we ordered were impeccably delicious & had that unique Cuba flavor that you will never get in any of all inclusives, alas. Ceasar Salad Cuban Style is to die for + white fish for Jose. Not sure who Jose is but lucky guy = white fish for him was cooked to perfection.& their Banana/Pineapple Daiquiri is simply heaven deliciousNess (& usually I am absolutely NOT a fan) + fast & friendly service, excellent live mostly jazzy music after 7pm ( were there in Jan 2022) + charming atmosphere. Totally a place to go for a romantic date. A tad off the main touristy streets in Old Havana, so makes it perfect for a relaxing evening after all hustle & bustle of a day. 100% recommended.

Like their Classic and homey decor. The mercaderes street is very scenic and clean. One of the most walk friendly street in old Havana. Food was not the best to our taste but good in quality. Services were professional and friendly. No air conditioning was a problem in the summer heat.

Excellent dinner! Beautiful restaurant, the waiters are super friendly, create empathy and make great recommendations. It has very nice live music. The prices are a little higher than in Cuban restaurants, but for European people it's ok. The food was worth all the money. Really Really Really tasty! I recommend 200% super nice.

Specifically decorated in collonial style restaurant with live cuban music and amazing food. We had the best fish ever and very good vegetable risotto. Delicious canchanchara coctail. Great service. Good rating exchange. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best dining experiences we had in Havana. The ambiance is immaculate - the gorgeous old 20s style architecture and whimsical decor were delightful. Our food and drinks were excellent and the live band was perfect. The owner introduced himself to us while we were dining and chatted with us about his family and business. We felt welcome and were well fed!

An amazing restaurant! Simple and fre with a lot of care and love on the plate! The lobster was fresh and tasty, perfectly balanced! The rice and beans are to the perfection. Price is super fair! What they put on our plate with all the difficulties they face everyday is under appreciated! The service is amazing too!! Please come and support them!

If you love seafood you have to try the lobster here. It’s the best in Havana. The seafood soup was excellent too. Waitress Jenny speaks perfect English which made our communication seamless. Good choices of drinks. The staff were outstanding. Services were excellent. Highly recommend.

The best restaurant we ate at whilst visiting Cuba. It has a good reputation and it’s well deserved, the food was delicious. The fish croquettes were light and fluffy with a delicate crispy outer. I can also highly recommend the traditional shredded beef, it was full of flavour- I must thank our waiter for his recommendation. All was not perfect, as the lobster was slightly over cooked but full of flavour. The staff were pleasant and helpful, their English far superior to my Spanish so guided us through the menu and choices. Reservations are a must, and they only take local reservations - meaning no website bookings, so either use your local contact or book when you first arrive, it is worth it though.

This is by far the BEST food we had in Havana, and believe me we’ve tried almost all the “fine dine” experiences here during our trip. Make yourself a favour and don’t go to the tourist traps like La Guarida as you will only end up having less than mediocre food. You can easily see how much attention & care chef is giving to each plate in Habana 61. Everything we tried (shrimp, lamb, ceviche etc.) tasted amazing and was so fresh. Servers & all the staff were super friendly and communicated well in English. If you are looking for delicious food in Havana with cozy atmosphere, don’t look beyond Habana 61 and you will not disappoint. Keep up the good work guys!
