Giza

Giza is a suburb of Cairo at the very heart of Egypt, one of those places that you need to see to believe. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and that is still in existence. It is believed to have been built as a tomb for the 4th dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), and is the largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex. Giza is also home to the Sphinx and the pit of the kings, which is an underground tomb that holds bodies of ancient pharaohs.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest among the pyramids in Egypt and is part of a larger complex that also includes temples and other ancient artifacts. This structure has been considered as one of the remaining wonders of the ancient world, with its impeccable geometry, enormous size, and striking shape raising questions on how it was built and why. Research has revealed that it was constructed by tens-of-thousands-strong teams of workers under pharaohs' orders to serve as tombs.

The Red Pyramid, believed to have been constructed for the pharaoh Snefru, is considered to be the oldest true pyramid in the world. Its name originates from its weathered limestone that appears red after the removal of its white limestone casing. Unlike its predecessor, Bent Pyramid, which had a deformed shape due to poor architecture, Red Pyramid was built at a 43-degree angle with a gently inclining upper section.
