It's one of the best if not the best town squares I've ever visited in Germany. A lot of cafés around to sit around and enjoy the old town square in it's full glory. If you want to avoid the crowd, visit it early in the morning to click a beautiful panorama.

Suuuuper cute little city center, unfortunately most areas were blocked off since they were setting up for a Christmas market opening the day after we left the city. Still was able to see a lot, just not many clean pictures.

Its nice - the only thing to see in frankfurt really, although none of it’s original of course - the entire city burnt down during the war. I guess that’s why there’s about 5 tourists in the entire city. Anyways, if you are visiting there’s like 1 tourist shop and a few cafes to outside in. The little church is super plain inside and not really worth going in

Beautiful architecture inside and out. You can enter the church for free, recommended donation if you want to light a candle. If you want to climb the steps to the top, there’s a freestanding ticket booth outside the church on the side closest to the river (opposite side from the church entrance). Once you pay, there’s a small wooden door to the spiral steps and you’re in your way to an incredible view 300+ steps above the ground. Know that it’s a narrow spiral stone staircase most of the time. The outer wall has a metal handrail and the inner wall has a rope handrail that is pulled taut (close enough to the stone that my mom broke her nail on the stone wall while clutching it for dear life lol). Some sections have small windows and/or lights near the ceiling but the steps are still rather dark in most places so I used my phone’s flashlight the entire climb so we didn’t miss a step. If you come across other people going in the other direction, someone will have to stop because it is extremely narrow. At the top you can walk the perimeter of the tower. There’s fencing and I felt safe even with high winds, stone benches built into the tower, and small trash bins at the top. Happy climbing!

Make the most of your layover by taking an Uber to the old part of town and visiting this spectacular cathedral. Buy a ticket for a couple of euros and go up the tower for a 360 view of the city. (Believe me, if I can do it, you can definitely climb those many many stairs up to the very top) After the climb, it’s time to enter the cathedral. I found it to be the perfect blend of clean lines of the building which highlight the sculptures. Found the atmosphere inside to be peaceful and serene. Don’t miss the hidden chapel behind the quiet room. The small museum in the building is also worth a visit.

An oldest Catholic Church in the center of the City Frankfurt. With a beautiful architecture so spacious and good ventilation. The Cathedral is the only building that survived from bombing attack in the second world War. The statues and the station of the cross and all the interior of the church is very beautiful. So refreshing and spiritually refreshing. A place worth visiting.

A beautiful cathedral that somehow survived the flattening of Frankfurt in WWII. The soaring columns feels like you're in a forest of giant trees. The organ is absolutely gorgeous.

An extraordinary cathedral . I believe made entirely of pink sandstone. Very elegant and even majestic decorations and look to this cathedral! Not to be missed if you are visiting old Frankfurt.

Beautiful church restored after WW2. Well worth a visit. Multiple locations in it are awe inspiring. We didn’t get struck by lightning as non believers.

If you are looking for a fantastic view of Frankfurt, make sure to visit the spire of the cathedral. It is quite a walk up there, but it is worth the effort. However, you won't be able to go to the very top. If you want to get that special view, you need to book a tour into the roof. On this tour they also take you to the very top of the spire where you will find a little museum and a view that very few people have seen. You will also get to see the Gloriana, the bell of the cathedral. With 11.950 kg it is a heavy-weight and you might even be allowed to hit it once (As I was allowed.) The tour is incredible, but it is only offered a few times a year and you have to book a long time in advance. Ask at the ticket counter.

Not the most beautiful or impressive cathedral in Europe, but well worth a visit. It certainly has one of the more interesting organs around, with the organ pipes being all-over. It is good that the dome is very regularly used for its intended cause, which however means that tourists need to time their visit well if they just want to have a look, without participating in a church service.

Amazing cathedral. There was a baptism going on when I was there. The organ was playing. How beautiful! I felt at peace inside. The sounds and the sites were glorious.

If you're an art enthusiast and love artworks from the high renaissance era, then this place is for you. At the basement, it's a vast space for contemporary art. You can stay there the whole day and enjoy all the paintings. It's a pretty relaxing place. You won't get bored going around. 👌👌👌

A wonderful art museum. The collection is not too big, but it's magnificent (there are works by Picasso, Monet, Renoir, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Degas and so many more)! Add to that fact that it's not overcrowded, so you can take your time in admiring the work of arts spanning 7 centuries with leisure. I would say for sure a must-visit place in Frankfurt if you love art!

It's a great museum. Very complete and has some beautiful pieces. It would be nice if they made the android audioguide for the Renoir exhibit available on android or through html5 on their website.

I have absolutely no talent in Art or know how to appreciate it but visited Stadel Museum as it was supposed to house works from the very best artists. I wandered around the building and was thoroughly impressed with the gorgeous building and also the large variety of beautiful works (of different categories) kept in pristine condition! Just amazing….

A very nice place with a huge art collection. Recommended for any art lover, with very detailed descriptions of the painting and the artist's life when creating works that go far into the past to the present day. The ticket price is 18 euros.

Stadel Museum in Frankfurt is a must for art and design enthusiasts. The interior is gorgeous and creates a perfect flow through the art pieces. From classical to contemporary, the selection is fantastic. I spent four hours there without realizing it. Highly recommended.

One of the best museums we ever visited, particularly because of the well written explanations provided next to the paintings. These were really special compared to other museums and provided valuable information to understand the painting, the story behind it and the background of the painter. Additionally, there's a free audioguide app (covering some of the most important works) with additional detail.

Many of the great classic painters have pieces here. Enjoyed walking through but some rooms were so stifling hot that it was hard to want to stop and take in the art.

An amazing discovery. This museum offers a wonderful walk through among art over 8 centuries of history from medieval art, through renaissance, modern art till contemporary one. A special highlight goes to the very interesting and cared temporary exhibitions. Very well organised as well regarding services, accessibility and didactic areas. Absolutely recommended

Absolutely beautiful 🌼 Tix were €7 for adults, €2 for children. Big park. Good for picnics for families with children. Beautiful exhibits of succulents and cacti. Waterfalls and fountains. Absolutely gorgeous. Literally gone for a long walk in the park. On a nice blue sky day 💙 makes perfect pictures. Worth the visit. 3 cafes but only 1 open. Boutique is small but lady is friendly. Takes card payments for transactions above €20, otherwise a €0.50 charge.

Its a beautiful place, loved the diversity of plants. Well maintained must go of you are a nature lover, you would love the walk through this whole place. They have specific sections for different regions on planet and they are climate controlled inside.

It's a big garden, and I highly recommend a visit. You can see different types of plants, from those in dry desert conditions to ones in humid jungles, all in one place. It's interesting to see how they take care of these plants. They offer student discounts too.

We were here in April,but I think it's would be even better to visit it in May, when all the trees will bloom. Anyway, great place to spend the whole day with your family or friends. Don't forget to take some snacks and drinks. You can relax on the beachbeds surrounding by the trees there.

It is a lovely botanical garden near the Frankfurt city center. You can take underground train and walk few minutes and you will be there. You can spend hours there. There are several planetarium. Inside you will find beautiful plants and seats to rest and take it all in. There is a natural history museum nearby also. Keep in mind some museums are closed on Mondays and or Tuesdays.

It’s a surprise and bonus to our 1 month Europe trip. We landed in Frankfurt, as a succulent lover, I always visit botanical gardens especially the ones with a good collection of succulents and cacti. This is abundantly and breath holding visit. Both the indoor and outdoor succulents and cactus, they also have some greenhouses not open to visitors, but you can definitely see the the glasses. Best collection so far! Of course their other gardens are also very well presented, love the carnivores collection. The palm one is so so. We were wondering why don’t they call it Frankfurt botanical gardens instead of palms en garden!

Really beautiful garden with many different plants and attractions. Just the right amount of information but great detail. We spent hours there and always discovered something new. Quite cheap considering everything that they offer there. Friendly staff also answered your questions. Highly recommendable :)

Beautiful, scenic and informative is how you can best describe the gardens. Amazing place to go with the kids and spend the day. There are washrooms on site and they have a small shop for water and snacks. Would recommend packing a small picnic and having it by the Stone-head statue or next to the lake. There are nice restaurants here as well.

It's the perfect place in Frankfurt for anyone who wants to spend their weekends. The park is really well maintained and there are varieties of food and drinks one can enjoy . Occasionally there are live bands performing in the open space also. Had a great time there .

Love the vibe of the entire riverside! The bridge gives a beautiful view of the river Main and the city around. There are benches and clean grass on both sides of the river, a perfect place to hangout with family and friends.

The love lock bridge has to be one of the most romantic spots after sunset here in Frankfurt - though I have read how such tons and tons of locks being placed on bridges around the world actually pose a real risk to the bridge. What’s more interesting is the sight of the city from both sides of the bridge and the cruises on river Rhine - a sight to behold to round up the tour in Frankfurt.

Beautiful bridge. Had a pleasant time walking through it, enjoying the great view on the Main river. The love locks that are vastly found throughout the bridge is simply gorgeous. Definitely worth the visit:)

The Love Lock Bridge-----must see across the Main river. Smaller foot bridge with locks lining both sides of the bridge. Locks which supposedly symbolize " everlasting" love. Beautiful views of downtown Frankfurt from this bridge. Easy access from both sides of the bridges to river walks along both sides of the Main River. Selfie spot for sure.

A nice walk to a historic bridge over the river. Filled with love locks, tags and stickers, it's a great way to take in the energy of the city and see the skyline of Frankfurt.

Very nice and touristy place you must visit if you ever go to Frankfurt! A beautiful view over the Main-hatten Skyline, and with beautiful restaurants along the river. The sun sets right behind the skyline, lending it to some awesome photography.

Absolutely in love with this true authentic Italian restaurant. We got a variety of different orders and everything was extremely tasty. The pasta was cooked to perfection, together with that delicious sauce is a match made in heaven 😋. The pizza was fluffy but also crispy, astonishing! The truffle gnocchi were my personal favorite, I couldn't get enough! All the textures were amazing, all the flavors were out of this world delicious. They definitely know what they are doing in the kitchen. Staff is fast and friendly and the interior design gives a cozy atmosphere. The only problem is that prices are extremely high and the portions are rather small.... I would still come back tho

Nice environment restaurant in Sachsenhausen. Ambition of fine dining, but we thought ambition of food was not that high. We had both the fish and lasagna - none really impressed us, not saying they were bad. Staff friendly and accommodating.

I'm just like entering to a little Italy. We ordered : Breaded fish ( I don't remember the name of this dish) but is one on my favourite appetiser, and drizzle with sweet lemon sauce. Just love it. Carpaccio Di Manzo ( Beef carpaccio) a pleasant flavour slight tangi and it won't take over the meat flavor well balanced. Paccheri Con Gamberone E Zafferano (Prawn Pasta) is a little light in flavour but nicely portioned. Schwarze Nudeltaschen (Ravioli) nice trafful flavour wrap with mince meat. It also hit we with saltiness but light. Portion slightly smaller. If you are craving for Italian cuisine, YES you may give it a try. Services was great and helpful.

This is a quality establishment with very welcoming service. The restaurant is located in a quieter area of Frankfurt and the terrace seating is very pleasant. The eggplant starter was absolutely delicious but was slightly let down by the pizza and the Orecchiette with sausage. I would definitely give it a second try.

We celebrated my birthday here and it was perfect. All the food was delicious, we liked especially the fried goat cheese with fig jam and gnocchi with gorgonzola and asparagus. Daniela was extremely friendly and helpful. She also put a birthday song for me. And we got two shots of limoncello on the house. It was really a great and memorable experience for me.

This cosy family-owned Italian restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable employees, delicious food, a vast, comprehensive wine list and fabulous dessert. I recommend it to everyone!

Great place for a family dinner or date. Service was very nice and helpful. The pizza was delicious. Dessert is also worth a visit here. This place has an incredible Sicilian vibe, I will come back here more than once.

Have been here years ago and had really good memories. Yesterday's experience was a bit mixed, but overall really good. Restaurant has great interior with loads of space between tables and you are welcomed with a lovely smile. Staff is super friendly and chatty, which is great. They also have a separate smoking area, overall you wouldn't expect such a nice restaurant in the area it is located. Food itself was tasty, we had three different thai dishes (Pad Thai, Wok stir fry with chicken and red curry with duck). Unfortunately, what we finally got served didn't match the order - the super spicy red curry with duck came with no spice and chicken, and the wok stir fry wasn't spicy either. The lovely waitress apologized and was really sorry, and pleased us with a round of drinks on the house - which is amazing and really worth calling out! Will we come back? For sure! Will it take another few years? Definitely not. Food was really good and what has been served on the other tables just looked mouth-watering and amazing!

We had our valentine dinner there and it did not disappoint. The scallops for appetizer were great. My wife had the lamb chops as her main dish and I had the surf and turf. Both dishes were delicious but I am not sure the surf and turf is worth the price. The ambiance is nice and the service was adequate. The only bad notes are 1) their card machine wasn’t working so we had to hunt for an ATM in the area so we can pay for our meal. 2) there is no parking for the restaurant. There are only street parking that are used by the residential building near the restaurant. I recommend using a taxi or Uber. I also recommend making a reservation, they are on open table.

If you want to treat yourself to expensive, but exceptionally tasty food; (!) Highly recommend the tenderloin cooked for 12 hours, with a side of mashed sweet potatoes - this was some of the tastiest food I have tasted in a restaurant ever. Also recommend the two steaks we had, Argentinian and American. Medium raw is true to medium raw. Side note: fries accompanying the steaks could be more presentable (1st world problem but if you pay 90€ for a piece of meat, the fries coming along must look and taste better than the 2€ McDonald fries) Ambient is cozy, and the venue is big. The menu is large (almost 20 pages) so plan ahead if you can. Surprisingly a lot of vegetarian options, so there will be something for those who go there for the company. Dessert is overpriced for the amount you get.

Go for the Tomahawk steak like the locals, try out the sushi-style starters, or have some sublime Thai curries… whatever. This place does it well, and ZOMG is it tasty. Not the cheapest place in Frankfurt; not the finest furniture. But all the money is spent on the food. It’s high quality stuff.

The waiters give you personalized food recommendations and everyone gets the perfect dish in this restaurant! I had curry with beef and it was sublime, they can even arrange the spiciness for your taste. The menu is really long (like 20 something pages) and everyone is smiling at the end of the meal.

Restaurant was already full house when we visited on a Monday evening (7pm), prior reservation recommended. Despite full house, the owner/waiter were nice to allocate seats for us after some waiting. Busy place so may take a while to get the service staff attention and get your food. The onion soup was very tasty. Pork knuckle was crispy outside and tender inside, eat in with the pickled vegetables to lessen the fatty taste. Portion was big and reasonably priced. Service staff were friendly and understand English. Payment in cash only.

We did not have a reservation and we were able to sit outside in the garden. It’s been busy but we have been served in a decent time and the food arrived just in the right time. Amazing place to try the green sauce, and I usually never eat Schnitzel from the pork but this one was very delicious. I wouldn’t have noticed it was pork, if I didn’t know it. The waitress suggested tasting platter as a starter which was a big mistake, as the Schnitzel was more than enough. We also had a 4er Bembel for two of us, which we could not finish again.

Love the vegan schnitzel that came with fried and green sauce on the side. Food was brilliant. Apfelwein was not to my liking. Service on a Saturday night is slow due to the crowd. But the ambience is good. Big crowds with lots of happy people chatting.

My first experience in traditional German food and I loved it... I couldn't have chosen better. attentive, polite and super calm staffs to explain each dish on the menu. super clean place, wonderful atmosphere and I recommend it to everyone.

Nice place to have dinner in Frankfurt!! The food was delicious. We tried their apfelwein and was also good. Be aware that the dish is big in case you eat just small portions 🙈. We made a reservation with some hours of anticipation and was a good idea in our opinion.

The Gastätte Atschel is a pleasant surprise, just outside the busy evening-life center of Frankfurt, a great place for an authentic German cuisine experience. The Schweinebäckchen is fantastic and the Apfelstrudel certainly among the best I have had to date.

I can't say that I have dined in the restaurants since I was only staying in the hotel that is attached to this restaurant. However, I have tasted the breakfast that was given to this day in the accommodation so I think I can speak of the food of this place. It was a fine meal and I liked it a lot the service was nice for one person serving everyone who is staying in the hotel for breakfast. Breakfast was included in the hotel stay and I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to worry about my first meal of the day. An affordable hotel in the town centre next to a beautiful cathedral. It is steps away from the Romer train station. I came during the Christmas period, one of the biggest Christmas markets is located right in the area. There are many restaurants selection and walkable shopping districts. It was surprising that the hot water had an issue while I was staying. As a habit, I'd test the power outlets, lighting, and water supply upon check-in. As soon as I turn on the shower, the water that came out was brownish for quite a while (see pic). I went to the receptionist for assistance and it seems that they already had someone on-site fixing some pipe issues. In the end, it is kinda resolved but surely the water wasn't all clear and no way I would drink from the tap in this city.

Excellent food. Great service and nice ambience. Beer 🍻 Pork knuckle is a must have. Meat loaf and chicken salad are good. Ice cream desserts are delicious.

Very good food, the best schweinshaxe I have ever had! Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. And every part is easy to chew. Staff are very friendly and quick. Great price and good quality. Highly recommended!

I had Paulaner in Beijing ages ago, never thought that even as a chainstore, they are still on top of the list in their hometown. I was in a very good mood before dining at this location, after left cold on my seat for a good 20+ minutes, with air conditioner blowing hot air on my legs, i got miserable. Ask waiter to change my seat, they did the favor, but in a very frustrating face. I don’t blame them, they got 2 huge Korean tourist group dinning here, and with 2-3 waiters serves everyone, I’ll get frustrated too( and I am). Decent food, could do better. Hope for the best, see you next time!

Location- is perfect. Near Romer city Hall and River Main. Beer and food is good. I couldn't believe that it was very busy on weekdays and it was understaffed. Overall , the experience was nice.

Fantastic location, right next to the cathedral and 30 seconds from the U-bahn. Superb friendly staff, comfortable beds and all very clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, fresh, generous portions of traditional food. I loved my stay, the only tiny point is one the hotel can’t help, I’m over 30c temperature the room was baking hot, the hotel do provide fans, but it was just moving warm air around. All in all though, a fantastic little hotel. I’d not hesitate to return.

Very nice hotel in a best tourist location in Frankfurt. Hotel is very comfortable, rooms a bit small but well fitted out and our room had a lovely guy view of the Cathedral next door. We had dinner in the Biergarten restaurant attached to the hotel and it was also very good. Breakfast was about the best we have had in eight weeks in Europe, really excellent with very good service. Highly recommend this hotel.

The food was fine but the service was terrible. I waited over 10 minutes just to get a menu while other tables who came later than me were already having drinks. Another long wait for ordering and asking for check. At that time it wasn’t even that crowded and busy. Half of the tables outside were empty and not to mention the indoor area. Several staffs wandered in and out for no reason and ignored my request.

The food is very good including the portion size for the money for this location. The place is very cozy with lots of tables. A wide selection of dishes and very good beer. In my opinion, there are a bit too few waiters because the waiting time for service is quite long. Worth a visit anyway.

A decent German food and good Paulaner/Munich beers if you want to treat your guests in Frankfurt. I have tried many other places but disappointed. This one Paulaner am Dom is a go-to restaurant. Booking is highly recommended esp. during peak hours.

Food was delicious! Generous servings cooked well with great flavors (skip the burger though, my colleague was not impressed). I had a flatbread, most others in my group had one of the schnitzels and they were great! Good prices too.

Lovely. The only issue was too much food ... Which we could not take with us as we were staying in a hotel. I think that the waiter should have told us how much we ordered and a bit of portion control! But both waiters were very friendly. The restaurant nice and food extremely fresh. The location is central too. I did find the salad a bit over priced but the quality was amazing so I should not complain too much. The wine went well with the meal. All in all a good meal... Visited for dinner whilst on a business trip as a group of 9. The restaurant was busy but the staff were good and quickly sorted our table and got us seated. Drinks were a little slow, but food was soon ordered and came out in good time. The food was excellent and very well presented, drinks also good with a selection of cocktails available. Staff very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is also very well decorated. Highly recommend

We ordered the set meal 3 that comes with soup or salad, fish main course and dessert. Enjoyed the freshly baked bread and the asparagus soup was yummy. The main course and dessert were nice but didn't impressed. Overall it's a good meal that's also reasonably priced. Nice ambiance and friendly staff too!

If you’re a tourist, don’t go there. We went with 2 friends, one was speaking German and me and my friend, French. The waiter was very polite during all the service, the bad surprise happened at the end. When we asked for the bill, they didn’t print any receipt, the waiter just told us how much by person (72€ each because we gave a bit more for the service) - very expensive for a bottle of wine, shared starter, plate and bottle of water. We paid and then my friend asked for the receipt, the service has been automatically calculated by the system - apparently. I believe they did that to every tourist or non German speakers. When we asked more details, the waiter finally told us that the service has been calculated already. Thing that he didn’t mention when we paid and added few more for the service. The food was ok, such as the wine but you can have way more delicious food and experience in every other restaurant. Communication is the key, inform your clients that the service is first, already included, second, automatically calculated. I don’t recommend.

This place was great . We had a great time and amazing food and the waitress were very friendly. Highly recommend for big groups.

I liked this place, its atmosphere and interior - all is fine. Their menu is pretty big and you can definitely choose almost what ever you want. Friendly staff, the lady was so "friendly" so I would say intrusive. I didn't check whether they have a wife but definitely no parking. No questions to food, all what I have chosen were great: fresh, tasty and done like in Athens.

This restaurant is next to konstablewache, really in the heart of the city center, amazing service, waitress were really nice and helpful. 😁 We had different appetizers to start, and they were really tasty and nice Main dishes wouldn't said are that much, without the appetizers it may wouldn't be enough. Wouldn't say it's cheap and there is lot of meet/fish/chicken options, but definitely worth to try it 😊😄🤩 Nice environment inside the restaurant, cute and pleasant 😊 definitely will come back😊

Throughout the evening, the waitstaff seemed overburdened and disorganized, leading to lengthy delays in taking orders, food, and providing basic attentiveness. Multiple requests for refills and condiments were forgotten or ignored, and the overall service experience left much to be desired. Food (5/5): On a brighter note, the food at Ariston Restaurant was undeniably exceptional. It's evident that the kitchen is staffed by talented chefs who take great pride in their craft. Beverages (3/5): The beverage selection at Ariston Restaurant was adequate, but not particularly noteworthy.
