Their free shuttle bus from downtown was on time, clean, and efficient although there was zero effort to enforce the mask mandate. We were the first group to arrive as they opened the museum. They only had only one person selling tickets, the same person who explained how to go through the museum. The cashier was lovely but our bus of 20 took well over 20 minutes to process. There were lots of displays along the walls that provided great educational visuals and stories about glaciers. They were in good repair and the English translations were better than most we encounter. The center of the room dioramas were lame and not as professional as the exhibits on the wall. We were about halfway through the exhibits when the very LOUD tour of the museum started. It was in Spanish and I was trying to read English and it is not a huge space so there was no way to escape it. It ruined the experience for us. The descriptions are so thorough and detailed that we wondered why a tour of the museum is even necessary. The movie starts about 50 minutes after you get there and lasts 20 minutes. We were hoping to see some environmental or climate change message but it never occurred. The movie was OK but the seats seem to be broken or to have aged poorly as they were quite uncomfortable leaning forward. You have about 20 minutes after the movie before bus departure to see more of the museum if you like. The restrooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained

Absolutely amazing if you have even small interest for glaciers, how they form and how they all disappear!

Easy to get to, takes a little over an hour to read everything and watch the video of the glacier collapsing. Video has subtitles in English. The tour is only in Spanish and from the few words of Spanish I could understand, I felt ripped off that there wasn't the same offered in English. The ice bar was also closed for repairs which we didn't realise until we arrived. Charged 3500 per person, very overpriced for what it was. Wouldn't recommend to an English speaker unless you're super bored.

Great experience and explanation of and about glaciers. And everyone is so nice. Go. Don’t miss it. And definitely say ‘yes’ to the 20 minute frozen bar experience. So much fun 🥶

We enjoyed our trip to the museum, it is build with a lot of images and some interactions. However, if you want to make people aware of climate change and its damages to the world (as the museum does), start with yourself and tell your drivers of the citycentre bus transfer to the museum to turn the engines from the buses off while they wait! The bus engine was running for over 20 minutes with nobody in the bus... It was a bummer on the nice visit we had.

This was a surprisingly informative museum of glacier formation and glacial geology in an out-of-the-way place. Don't hesitate to visit as a foreigner: all exhibits are in Spanish and English, and the film has English subtitles. Despite understanding only 70% of the tour in Spanish (my Spanish is so-so) I found it to be a great summary.

Pretty incredible. Unlike other glaciers you can get very close to this. There are multiple excellent view point which insure you can see the glacier regardless of how many people there are. The walkways are well built and easy to walk for any fitness level. If you're lucky you'll see some of the ice break off which was amazing!

Excellent experience, the guides are the best. And the views are amazing. Not very difficult to complete so it’s really cool. If you’re going to take this tour then I won’t recommend you to also pay for the perito moreno’s navigation tour as it’s quite the same.

No matter how many photos and videos of the glacier you have seen before getting there, once you reach the place and the glacier gets before your eyes, your jaw drops. Its size and beauty are breathtaking. You cannot stop taking photos of it from the pasarelas, which truly give you the opportunity to get different angles of this wonder of the nature.

You can’t miss this one of you are in Patagonia. Easy way to go thorough the pasarelas and even if you are in a wheelchair you can do it.

Best experience ever. I went with Patagônia Chic and was awesome. I did the mini treeking, and it is super recommended if you can. It was a great experience all over the day. Bring your food and keep the garbage with you. The place is perfect and gorgeous,keep it clean.

Very nice place is a must to do in your life, is weelchair sidewalks, the routes are from 30 minutes up to 1 hour and 30 minutes, if you do all take 5 hours with time to take a lot of photos and videos, also you will watch the condor andino bird. It has a restaurant, souvenir store, boat and kayak trips.

Great walkway, enables you to get as close as you'd want to be. Fantastic.

Well worth the experience. With a binocular (rentable for 500 pesos), you get to observe flamingos up close and the variety of vegetation is really interesting. 10/10 will recommend this beautiful landscape. P.S admission fee is 2500 pesos for foreigners as of Dec ‘22.

Friendly and helpful staff. A must for nature lovers. Don't rush, and take in the beauty. Large variety of birds so be sure to take binoculars.

A nice place to have a walk and make some bird watching. Is the day is windy I would not recommend it. On the other hand, it has a direct access to lake Argentino.

What a wonderful place, La Reserva Laguna Nimez is. I came during the summer, and it was amazing to see the lake full of flamingos and all of the other water fowl, the coast line, and the snow capped mountains in the background. It was an especially windy day, but that just added to the fun. When you arrive, you are given a map of the trail to follow. You can also rent binoculars, which I would highly recommend. Most people come to El Calafate for the glacier, but if you are in town, definitely come check out the bird preserve. It is amazing how you will be transported to such a different world from the glaciers— truly a wonderful experience!

The place is amazing, great to take a nice walk and get in touch with nature for a while, watching the birds fly around and everything. Be sure to wear sunscreen and some windbreaker!

The wildlife is spectacular. It’s a hidden treasure for the middle of El Calafate. A large section of the park is flooded and you cannot enter that area but you still have to pay the full price 3000 pesos. The staff are incredibly rude which is a shame.

This nature reserve was a completely unexpected wonder. I thought we would see an urban lagoon with a few birds possibly visible but it was so much more. It's a bit pricey by Argentinian standards at $10USD per person but so worth it. For the first 10 minutes I thought we would not see anything but then there was a full 2 hours in the trail of one spectacular bird viewing after another. I will let my pictures speak for themselves.

It may look basic, but don't let the appearance fool you. I think by far the best museum I've found in South America, full points for presentation and execution! The receptionist is a friendly guy who speaks English well. The route through the museum is linear, chronologically, so you can't get lost, or find yourself having to decided after to go and loop back or accidentally miss a spot. In my opinion, the museum's literature is just informative enough to keep you interested, and feel like you're learning, without boring you with too much detail, a hard balance I think many museums struggle with. You'll be done in around an hour, and if you struggle with Spanish, you can ask to borrow a book which has everything translated, in roughly the same layout as the museum, so it's easy to follow. Very affordable too.

Highly recommend this museum! They had English translated guidebooks which were very helpful, and many interesting and insightful exhibits (highlights for us were learning about the history of the local indigenous populations and the dinosaurs). A great way to spend a few hours in Calafate!

It helps to understand what happened to the Indigenous peoples of the region and why reconciliation is not at all possible, but can o ly be a recognition of the historic memory

Very nice museum if you're interested in the history of Patagonia. Information is in Spanish but you can get an English or French translation. You can try "mate" for free after your visit and learn about its origin. The guy at the reception is super nice and helpful.

Excelent place to understand the past, from the first dinosaurs to the modern times. Also u have information about the geology and how the Patagonian jungles become a big desert through time.

Very interesting museum and very well researched (although in Spanish only). At the end of the tour they let you try mate and explain you how to do it - which is v rare as it isn’t served in ‘cafeterias’ and every local has its own pot.

A very nice place to visit and great views of the lake

A little disappointed. I think it's a beautiful visit if you have an archeologist background or special interest in the topic. We went with kids and it's not an engaging your. Anyway, there's a few amazing sights of the Lake Argentino (picture)

Entrance is 4300 ARS p.p. (3500 ARS for kids/students/senior). Audiogide is foreseen. Total walk/tour takes 1 hour. It was really windy when we visited the caves. The cave paintings are really hard to see as most of them are mostly faded. They made some replica's at the end of the tour to show you how they should look like. We were dissapointed.

Cool place to go for a couple hours. Cave drawings were cool and the lake view is the best in Calafate. I had a sandwich made with smoked llama (guanaco), brie, pistachios and sun dried tomatoes. It was surprisingly good. The cakes and sweets were both delicious and beautifully designed. Do the tour and and stop for a snack/coffee and enjoy the beautiful view.

If you are interested in prehistoric people it is interesting. There not a lot of paintings but the made a nice audio tour of an hour. We went there by our selfs, not a organized. But it still was quiet pricy compared to what they have.

Probably has to be one of the must try restaurants in El Calafate. Because it is supposed to serve one of the best lamb in the world? A restaurant which has opened for decades specializing in lamb, they attract locals and tourists and its really not easy getting a table. Recommended to make reservations if you are not going alone. I was there alone and it was easier but I had to wait for quite a while for all those with reservation to be seated first. They do offer beef and lamb here but the recommendation is to eat lamb of course because that is what they are famous for. The restaurant is quite big and there is this display where diners can see the lambs roasting away. I did actually wanted to order a mix plate of beef and lamb, but the staff warned me the portion would be very big and not be suitable for one person, so I took the Patagonian lamb for one instead. She also recommended me to try the fries with truffle oil. The food portions were really big because I ended up so full and not able to finish both the lamb and the fries. The lamb was really one of the best I have eaten, but the fries were a little disappointing because it turned soggy very quickly. I wanted to have desserts but it was really impossible to have any. Food was decent but the price is slightly on the higher end. However I would still recommend this place to experience a good Patagonian lamb meal.

Not the best steak restaurant I've been to in Argentina, but it wasn't bad either. There's a cover fee, which annoys me but it's only 800 pesos. To start, I got fried mozzarella sticks, and they looked good when the came out but lacked any flavor. The steak was better, but cooked more than I wanted. The waitress had a photo to show for how much red you wanted, and I chose number 3 which should've been medium-rare but there was hardly any pink. I also got the lemonade which was very good, and comes in a pitcher's worth so it's great for sharing. Service was good.

Absolutely great. Great Argentinian food and a fantastic selection of good wines. Very service minded staff and professional. It will be a great pleasure to visit La Tablita again. Excellent service and strong wifi signal 😆. I ordered the lamb for one but it could have easily fed 2 people. The lamb was a bit dry for me and didn’t come with any sauce. Bread basket was very good though. Salad didn’t come with dressing. Overall a good restaurant but there are better restaurants in El Calafate at the same price Point.

The atmosphere was enjoyable and cozy! The service was very attentive. Got the perch for appetizer, lamb for 2 as the main course, grilled vegetables, and flan for the dessert. A bottle of wine and mineral water for drinking. The lamb was very tasty, as well as the flan. The grilled vegetables weren't prepared correctly, and didn't taste great. The perch appetizer was very small, was ok, not much perch. Overall a good dining experience.

One of the best Mutton (Cordero) barbecues I had in Patagonia region. Price is also cheap and the quantity is huge. I recommend to order for one person and share it between two. Service and atmosphere are the plus point for this restaurant, can't complain service at all.

Fine Patagonia Argentinian barbecue dining. Everything was really well made, and truly enjoyable in company. The portions aren't large, but they can still be perfectly shared. The prices are very reasonable for El Calafate. Everything is made to order, so be ready to wait. Believe me, it's worth it.

We had the disc of cordero with mushrooms, bacon and vegetables - it was absolutely delicious. As others have mentioned, each portion serves 2 easily. Be careful not to fill up on the bread at the beginning - it comes out warm and served with a delicious shallot butter. The staff also kindly stored our heavy backpacks for a couple of hours, then refused to take a tip. Highly recommend if you’re in Calafate!

Perfect place for some warm and comfort food after all day hiking in the woods and on the glacier. We ordered classic beef disco and vegetables disco, both good. They also have a wine cave where you can select your own bottle.

Food was good. The discos are recommended for 2 people. We definitely intentionally over ordered so we could taste a bit of everything. They don't have a wine list but a little wine cellar closet that you can go into and pick your bottle which is fun.

We had the trout with white wine sauce which was delicious. The “disco” is more than enough for two to three people. The staff was nice and professional. A nice place to eat in el calafate

Amazing disco! The portion is said for two but I would like to try the very famous signature dish by myself, so when it’s served I almost broke my teeth out. So big and tasty stew with bife steak, fried potatoes, beans, bacons and some other vegetables. So good but I still can’t finish even half of it. Btw the waiters there are very friendly and helpful

Great food after a day of trekking. I highly recommend this place! It was so good my group of friends and I came twice!

The food here was absolutely delicious and okay at the same time. We had a great Argentinian stew here that was just right to share for two normally hungry people. We also had some pasta that just didn't taste like a lot at all - not bad, not especially good either, just kind of dull. But that might have been a one-off, it is popular and well-known for it's good food, so give it a try (and don't forget to book a table in advance, we got lucky with ours, the restaurant was otherwise fully booked). Slightly more on the pricey side, but not expensive.

Overall good, not great. While well known for their Discos, their reputation failed to fully meet my expectations. While the food was good, it was not life changing or even exciting enough for me to come here again. Still giving it 4 stars because it was good Disco, just not amazing. If you are in Patagonia and are craving / want to try, there are a lot of options, but if you are craving meat and not in a Disco setting, you will be disappointed.

The meat dishes easily serve two. It was delicious and so were the empanadas (fresh). We also got the mozzarella starter which was delicious but way too much !

Great food to experience Patagonian culinary ! Staff was really helpful and gave us some good recommendations. We tried a stew Al disco and one portion was enough for 2 people. Prices are a bit higher than average but still worth it.

The Romana pizza (vegetarian) was superb! Absolutely loved it. The vegetarian lasagna with tomato sauce was pretty underwhelming, had to return it. The sauce was too runny and while I was told the vegetarian lasagna had a bunch of vegetables, I only got spinach. Patagonia beer was pretty refreshing. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options by the way. Our server Patricia was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the menu in English. The vibe is lively and bustling. The restaurant was packed until 11pm, we arrived at 8pm and waited about 30 mins to get a seat. The service, pizza and the beer were totally worth it.

Hearty meal. I got a speghatti in arabiatta sauce with lots of veggies. I did ask for mushrooms instead of the meat, but it may have been lost in translation (quite literally :)). My husband ordered a caprese pizza because they didn't have chicken or beef in house, which we found odd. My speghatti was quite rubbery and the texture was off a bit, but I finished it as I was ravenous. The pizza was delicious. The service was very friendly and tried their best to explain the menu and what's available but it was a bit slow. For desert we ordered flan which did not meet my husband's flan standards as it was missing the cooked caramel sauce and he said it was eggy. Maybe an off night for them. Other than some food issues I liked the place as it was friendly, staff was nice and atmosphere was fun.

Very busy place, initially quick service. Had a pizza with good toppings, the dough was not entirely cooked though and it tasted and felt like baking powder based, certainly no significant amounts of yeast. In other terms, a frozen pizza in this quality would be respectable, in a pizzeria it ain't. The quality of service then dropped and nobody really seemed to care anymore. The door was left open so there was a significant draft while the last orders came through. Uninspired, bland food, partially good service, but evidently already happy to get home a bout an hour before closing time. Didn't get my bill and went eventually to the counter to pay. Well. Looks may be deceptive.

I guess people’s standards drop when they’re hungry after a day of hiking….either that or we were very unlucky. Empanadas were pretty good. Spaghetti was waaay overcooked and drowned in oil and watery sauces. Both pasta dishes were just a soggy mess. Many Argentinian’s Italian ancestors must be turning in their graves.

Nice place, easy breezy in the center of town. I had a small pizza which was done in the typical Argentine style, the crust, a little, too thick for my taste, and not as crispy as I like, but filled my belly, just the same.

Atmosphere was cozy. We got a bottle of wine to relax and kill time before our flight out. We got a milaneza Americana with a side of potatoes and a spaghetti with some cream sauce with green onions and pancetta. The spaghetti was overcooked, no flavor or even salt for a taste. Didn't even eat it. The milaneza was ok. It was big with lots of sautéed onions and a fried egg. Was the only thing that my husband and I were able to share. The potatoes were dry and no flavor as well even adding salt. If no other options are available. Maybe try the pizza.

Poor service, not recommended. The waiter took too long to take our order, and offered us to get a free dessert as a courtesy. Right before ordering our desserts, he repeated: "get two -- you'll only pay for one." However, mid-dessert, he brought an additional single scoop of ice-cream -- turns out *this* was the free dessert. We ended up paying more than expected. Food was okay, but overpriced.

the food is amazing, we had the parrilla for 2 and was a blast. but when the bill came some surprises were there. they charged almost 5 dollars for couvert (3 slices of bread and 30g of homus). we ordered a glass of champagne and when arrived the waitress offered water to us. we accepted, but then at the bill they charged 5 dollars for that too. its the most expensive restaurant at the city, they really dont need to make those things. i couldnt even tip the service because the bill was bigger than I expected.

Very overpriced for what they are offer in food and service :( You can see "burrata" salad on photo, there is even no burrata at all, quality of tomato also you can see and the quantity of mozzarella (not the best one also). Cordero just normal, and very little portion.

Amazing food! Amazing ambience! Amazing staff! The bread at the beginning was soft and fluffy. The meat was perfectly cooked and flavoured, and the mash had perfect consistency. The calafate ice cream was to die for!!! I've never had ice cream so delicious before!! They even had some live entertainment (a singer and two dancers performing the traditional zamba - so amazing!!). Would definitely recommend this place!!

The ambience was exquisite.. try empanadas for sure it's awesome. I would recommend to order only asado because they provide a generous portion. We loved baba ganouch dip with bread basket. The brut dulce wine was good. Loved it. Food portion is very generous.

Tonight was wonderful. The smoked guanaco was nice, the lamb well-cooked and tasty and the chocolate volcano also good. The 500-peso Patagonia house red wine was really good and the glasses generous. Staff was welcoming and professional from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Fantastic spot. We got the lamb tortellini and lamb bbq. Plus the Calafate mojito and a bottle of wine. The meat was so tender and the pasta just the right balance of meat and sauce. Would definitely come back again.

Nice ambient, clearly very busy and popular where they turned away some visitors without reservations. Food is tasty and plenty of choices on the menu. House wine does the trick, not bad at all.

This was a HIGHLIGHT meal! We traveled to Argentina for 3 weeks and ate out 2X a day. We spoke about this meal for weeks afterwards. The service was great, food was 10/10 and the staff was great. We'd gladly go back! We are so happy we followed the good reviews. We WhatsApp'd the restaurant and they got back to us quickly. We'd gladly go back!
