This place is beautiful! The staff is so wonderful and friendly and helpful. You can buy tickets once you get there but if you buy them in advance, it goes faster. Elevators and stairs, bathrooms on every floor. 3 floors total. Price of tickets aren't bad either. Went to the Van Gogh exhibit, but will definitely be back to see the rest.

Good museum with a variety of collections. A variety of collections from across the world. Some areas are better represented than others in terms of history of the art from the region. Some interactive bits across the galleries for young patrons. A few more interactive moments would be nice, and would provide more talking points for groups who visit the galleries. Asia, Africa, and Hellenistic collections are good introductions to the arts. The gallery on Egypt showcases select pieces, and makes for a great introduction to the culture. Native American section represents art pieces from the south, central and north America. Residents of Wayne county have free entry on select days at the museum.

Excellent customer service from Cameron at the entrance, which was the start of an amazing experience of artwork displayed from many eras and with famous artists and different cultures. We were there for a couple of hours and did not complete a full tour. Looking forward to coming back. The museum’s store was full of many wonderful collections of jewelry, clothing, tableware, books and more. I thoroughly enjoyed the time there. Also the food was amazing from the courtyard.

There is just so much to see. I could spend days just staring at the artwork. Mind you I am partial to art. We went and they had a car exhibit and they were so unique. Also seeing a real life van Gogh painting was really cool. I'd definitely go again. They also had art from Mexico, middle east, native Americans, Japan and Korea. I love international art so it was fun to look at everything. Also seeing a real life mummy was really cool but creepy to think there's a skeleton in there.

very cool place and nice to visit, there are so many different sections you can look at with very cool artifacts and such. we were able to get in for free. there are gift shops and places in there you can get food at. i honestly have no complaints, the place is very cool to go to, the building itself is very cool and with the addition of all the old things it makes the place amazing to visit.

The museum has an amazing and diverse collection. My particular favorites were the Native American, Impressionists, and Modern exhibits. And the gift shop is a collection all by itself! Amazing! I even enjoyed the curry chicken salad at their Cafe. I didn't see everything, and I'll definitely return!

Large museum with lots to see. The exhibits don’t flow very well, so take a map to be able to follow your path if you want to make sure you see everything. Very cool cafe inside, museum architecture itself is interesting. Weekend day was not too crowded in the afternoon which was nice. $14 for adult, $8 if you’re a student, reasonable prices.

Incredible museum! This place is huge. We came right at 9am and it was great, quiet and not a lot of people until later on. It’s beautiful here and so much to see. We spent about 3 hours and still wasn’t enough to get through the whole place. The little cafe is beautiful, great spot to grab a coffee and snack while taking a break. The history here is amazing, everything is placed beautifully and tons of information. Have to come back for a full day to really take our time and enjoy!

Fantastic art museum with friendly staff members! Upon entering, I was met by an enthusiastic staff member who explained the layout of the museum to me, and then struck by the majestic Great Hall. But the highlight lied beyond the great hall - seeing Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry Murals in person was such an awe-inspiring experience! There were staff members stationed in the area, one of whom had a great chat with me surrounding my questions about the murals. The Rivera murals was not the only reason that made the visit worthwhile - I found that the museum has quite a comprehensive art collection, not just of Western art movements from medieval to modern times, but also of non-Western art. The African and Islamic galleries were pretty good-sized, although the Egyptian gallery was a bit disappointing. It would have also been nice if the museum put more thought into the re-creations of the cultures' architecture; the current re-creations seemed half-baked with artifacts combined with modern materials. Depite that, the interior architecture of the museum was quite varied and worth seeing for an architecture enthusiast. I liked the modern designs of the stairs and Prentis Court as well as the historic-comtemporary charms of Kresge Court (which very well reflects the identity of the city!). In all, I only had 2.5 hours to spend at the museum and that was only enough for an in-depth visit to about half of the galleries. A jewel and a must-visit in the city!

One of the absolute most unique and interesting collections I have ever seen. Not many public art facilities match up to DIA. It can get crowded but the staff is willing to lend knowledge even if you aren't on your. The lady that explained the Diego Rivera mural was the highlight of the day.

I am a huge museum visitor, and this collection is by far one of the best I’ve seen in the US. Not only that, but the courtyards are stunning. I only spent about five hours here and saw maybe 1/3? I recommend visiting it over two days. Enjoy lunch or drinks in the cafe- the flatbread and summer drinks were amazing. All in all, this is one of my top places to visit recently. I highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful stadium!! We came here for the first time this past weekend to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and it was absolutely wonderful! VERY clean, very good security, comfortable seating, very easy to find sections for seating too. Super friendly staff at all the food stands and nice fresh tasty food. By far one of the best stadiums I've been to! The concert was well put together and went wonderfully. The security check before entering was smooth and very fast and friendly. Even very easy to find parking areas all over by the stadium as well! All in all a really great experience. Highly recommend attending a concert or ball game here!

This is a beautiful park and a great baseball experience. The layout is great, beautiful Tigers at the home plate, and not a bad seat in the hose. We got to enjoy Beach night and Friday night fireworks which was a great 15 min show. +Visual effects of video board were amazing! -Audio in the stadium could be better. We could hear all of the mids/highs, but could not hear any of the bass. Need to get some better subs in the upper decks!

Great atmosphere at this park (was my. Buddies favourite of the 3 we visited this trip). Parking was cheap and easy... Leaving not so much. Food and vendor options were cool - and you could see Ford Field which was neat. Nice view from where we were sitting. Overall great time.

Very nice park, been to over half the current MLB parks and lord knows how many of the old parks. This is a nice park. Friendly staff, not a bad seat. I got a great seat for $28. Beer, hot dogs, and Major League Baseball...what else can you ask for in America?

I have no complaints. I do, however, have a confession 🤦‍♀️. I'm not a huge baseball fan. 😬 This was my first major league baseball game. We were invited by friends so we weren't going to turn the opportunity down. I felt like the stadium was very nice, clean and a lot of food and drink options. Obviously not without draining your pockets, but that is expected at any sports venue.

The stadium is great. I will say if you are going for handicap friendly seating, try to stick to the terrace level. They are about $56 a person but put you in better seats that are more accessible.

Comerica Park is so far the best baseball field I have been to. They have so many great food options including the classics like hot dogs and sausages, along with fair food like corn dogs and elephant ears, and others like tacos, nachos, pizza, ice cream, and more. There were a lot of people there but I never felt crowded. The seats have a lot of space around them. It was a very fun and comfortable experience. Got to stay for Friday night fireworks and there was such a fun and exciting vibe as they were getting ready for a decently long show!

This was my first visit to Comerica park and it was a really nice stadium. I did not explore a lot of the concessions or anything, but from what I saw there were many food and drink options. The seating was nice as it wasn't as steep as some stadiums are in terms of the layout. Nice skyline views when looking to the outfield.

We were in town for a concert at the Masonic Temple and my husband surprised us with Tigers tickets, what a nice surprise, we had a blast even though it was a chilly/damp/windy 39° and cloudy. The fans were dedicated and enthusiastic.

Not impressed with the Kiosk system. People INSIDE were Great- people At Ticket windows, rude as can be, AS IF they're Doing You a favor getting paid to sell or accept tickets. Poor setting for concert- concrete baseball bleachers. Prices are Disgusting- 8.95 for a Hot Dog on rollers. 8$ for a 16oz water. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING AREA. Not enough restrooms, vendors, nada. We went. We enjoyed the show- from damn near the furthest row away from the stage. No Regular beer, All Craft or Light. We agreed, we don't care to go back. It was an experience we'd never had, and, neither care to go a second time. Not even for a ball game.

It's a nice ballpark and although it seats over 41000 feels like a small ball park. The park is athletically pleasing and has great team details on the facade. It's a great ballpark to visit if you are a fan of the team or just enjoy baseball in general.

Absolutely amazing MLB venue, home of the Detroit Tigers. Went to the game on Miguel Cabrera Day...jersey give away, Tiger's hat/ sunglasses swag games give aways inside the park. Great fan experience for food, drinks, and rest areas. Plus Ga great selection of team products at the D Shop.

Fantastic views of the city can take your eyes off the game at times. One of the best baseball venues in the country. Even with multiple events close by and on a weekend night plenty of parking was available with a short walk. Detroit has never been better so take in a game and spend time in the city to eat snd shop.

So! My Husband and I went to Detroit in July of 2021 for our 20th Year Wedding Anniversary And to my surprise woke up on the day that I was supposed to go to the museum and it had been shut down due to a flooding no one ever emailed us or warned us of this tragedy! No one ever responded to our calls we even went up to the museum there were people walking around but nobody ever responded to our needs,I was ver disappointed because this is one of the places I wanted to go and it was a surprise from my Husband! We Have Still NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM THE MUSEUM STAFF ARE BEEN REFUNDED OUR MONEY! We Flew in From Texas and Would like to be Reimbursed or Even Acknowledged!!!! I’ll See if This Review Gets Any Response!!!!

**Please Note** this museum is not currently operating, it has begun renovations and for some reason the Google listing does not reflect this. **Edit: they’ve changed it to temporarily closed after I brought it to their attention. Cool. There is fencing around the museum (not shown in picture as I wanted a shot of the building and pushed my phone into the fence) and I had already gotten a ride there before realizing it is not operating tours until next year according to the sign on the door.

My bf and I have been waiting to come to the Motown Museum since he moved to Detroit in Jan 2021. Finally after a year and a half later, Motown Museum undergone some remodeling and we were able to go inside. It was $15 to go on and it was a 30 minute tour. Our tour guide was amazing. She gave us a lot of information and was enthusiastic during the whole tour. She gave us enough time to take pictures at different areas of the museum. We saw Berry Gordy’s actual apartment and saw Studio A which was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I can’t believe that small room created such amazing music. A lot of priceless history and a must see if you are in the area.

Very, very cool museum that captures the history and essence of Motown music. Our tour guide was fantastic and super knowledgeable which made it an overall interactive and positive experience. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for something to do in the area.

An excellent experience is to visit Hitsville USA and hopefully they you'll catch a good band playing while you're there. I don't know the bands name - but they showed up and showed out. I really enjoyed them, the audience started dancing on the lawn there were food/ice cream vendors available on-site. In addition, the Motown Souvenir tent had a variety of t-shirts, CD's, Keychains, jewelry and a large selection of other items to choose from. This was my highlight event while visiting Detroit.

The tour was awesome. We saw the famous Studio A where most of the iconic recordings took place. A lot of stuff in there are actual things from the 60s and 70s when Motown was at it's peak. The tour guides are very knowledgeable. It's very easy to find a parking spot. And they have plenty of photos of the label's legendary artists recording

It was absolutely amazing. There's a lot of history in the house. I'm lost for words. There were some Great Artist that came out of Motown Records And Created Some Beautiful Music 🎼🎼 that I still listen to Today😊🥰❤️.. Thank you little sister for the road trip. ,☺️❤️❤️

Stadium is great, I can not believe they managed to have the whole stadium with AC. The parking is not as bad as other stadiums, you don not have to walk as much. You mite think is a lot, but compared to others is not bad at all. Also staff was very good, not sure if they use same staff for games and events, but when I went, staff was helpful. There is enough bathrooms, mite get a little crowded is is full but it’s not that bad.

Atmosphere was amazing at the Lions 🦁 game. All people are nice, welcoming and friendly! Food was pretty good as for a stadium, the stand with roasted almonds was our absolute favorite! Everything was organized on a very good level! There are employees everywhere, but you feel comfortable. I love how there was no trash thrown on the floor not only inside of the stadium, but also outside, around it. We noticed it as we were leaving. That tell a lot about how people have respect for one another and the city where they live. And it was nice to see friendliness and good vibes at the stadium in general.

What a great time we had watching Detroit and the Bears!!! My fiancee and I stayed downtown close to the stadium. Everything is close and convenient. I will definitely be coming back to watch another game. All the workers we move and friendly. Beer and drinks were good. Even the spectators were fun and friendly. We had an amazing time!!!

Great place to go and see an event. The layout is nice. As always really need to do something about those prices at the concession stands. It's just out of control. Talk about price gouging. Should actually be illegal. Other countries have agencies that regulate the prices of these types of things because well, they must just care more. Shout out to my Europeans!

Only been for concerts, not football games. Most of the staff is wonderful and helpful but occasionally, you get a bad egg. There are no "blocked view" seats which is great, and like most stadiums, the food and beverages are overpriced and underrated, but there are options here, which is nice. They have a designated parking structure but we prefer to park about a 10min walk away cause that helps traffic clear out a bit by the time we get to our car. PS: as a bonus note, they allow breast pumps and have a designated pumping/nursing room for moms!

We love this place! I have been here a few times for lions games but this time, my daughter got the chance to dance with the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders! Such a cool experience. For the games, there are so many places to eat and drink choices. The club seats are the best and it's always a good time coming here. I can't wait for football season again!

Came to Ford field to watch supercross! Great experience, friendly staff, many food and drink options all throughout the facility and plenty of clean bathrooms avaliable all over. Our seats were in section 205c so we got the club level experience and it was well worth it! Soft cushioned seats, own food vendors and bars! Highly recommended club level seat for any events!

Besides the Lions losing always—great field house! So many food and drink options. Gluten free buns and food can be found on Ford Field’s website for locations and sections. I love when they have the massive Christmas tree up for the Thanksgiving game. Clean walkways but they get busy at the end of the game. Go to security further to the right for a shorter line.

We attended the monster jam truck show. It was awesome and loud. Everyone was courteous. Our seats were great. Ford Field did not feel crowded even though there were way more people than I thought at this event.

Ford Field is an awesome venue! We went for a concert (not into sports haha) but the view was amazing, and the stage was right in the center, so people all around had a great view. The arena itself is easy to navigate and filled with dozens upopn dozens of places to eat, drink, and snack. The facility was kept clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The arena is cashless, but some parking is cash only. Parking was the biggest pain, but we were later than we should have been.

A stunning architectural marvel! Truly stunning Aztec deco lobby, and marvelous details hidden throughout. Especially special is the Tiffany clock, one of 4 in the world (the most famous being on Grand Central). A must-see for any visitor.

Evertime I come to Detroit I find really interesting things to do! This has to be one of my better finds. It was incredibly beautiful to see all the Art Deco on the ceilings and walls. I love Detroit, it has so many hidden historical buildings and Art Deco finds.

My friends and I just walked inside to see the beautiful architecture of this amazing historical building. They do offer tours, check online to see what's is available. There are some businesses on the ground floor that are open to the public. Some food options, but mostly open during the working hours. There is one public bathroom.

SEE THIS BUILDING!!! What a great example of what craftsmanship of the Guilded Age Americans did- it is truly one of the several unbelievable buildings in this beautiful city. We only saw the lobby and also the outside- which is amazing as well. Part of a great self guided walking tour in Detroit.

This is an amazing building circa 1928 that’s still gracefully intact. Amazing architecture style outside. Inside the main hall is a beautiful full length wall painted mural including the demographic map areas of Michigan. On each lower side of the mural you’ll see painted depictions of the agricultural and industrial aspects of what Michigan was built from. The entry atrium has amazing perfectly matched geometric colorful patterns. A must see building done in art deco; beautiful inside and out!

After all the years of both being in Detroit and coming to Detroit, I realize that there are plenty of things that I still haven’t seen. I can now cross the Guardian building off that list. I actually came down yesterday to see the MLK statue. I ended up finding parking on Fort St, so when I walked down Griswold towards the water, I found myself immediately outside this beautiful work of art. I also was not aware that they host tours on Sundays. When I walked into the gift shop, the lady working told me they started a little bit ago if I wanted to join in, so I did. It was a nice little tour. I enjoy both history and old artistic construction. I highly recommend checking it out.

Beautiful building from outside and even more beautiful on inside. The colourful tiling just makes you happy. It remembered me of Legoland. You can take a look at the reception, however, obviously you are not allowed to go up unless you have an appointment. It is absolutely worth taking look at.

This building is an amazing work of art. It's a must-see if you are going to walk around Downtown Detroit. They have done an amazing job of keeping it repaired. It looks brand new! It is a perfect example of the Art Deco style. They are very accommodating in allowing you into the ground floor lobby. It's is amazing

I got The Texan with waffle fries. The Texan was good and juicy but fatty. The waffle fries were good. Friendly staff and clean place. There are a few parking spots in front but if you’re planning to go on a weekend you might need to park somewhere else and walk there.

Travelled all the way from Canada just to eat here. The absolute best bbq place I’ve ever had. My family loved it. The options are amazing, prices are unbelievable affordable for such good quality. Service was great, we didn’t go without, my drink never went empty. I highly recommend this place to anyone in & out of the country if you want to try some delicious food for a great price followed by friendly service this is the place!

Amazing BBQ place! Tons of different barbecue options to choose from. Their American Dream sandwich was amazing! Hands down one of the best sandwiches I have had. The baked beans were also amazing. They have tons of different beer options to choose from as well. The price is a little on the higher side but you can expect that for great food. I would definitely recommend this place time after time!

Delicious! I ordered The Big Three; everything was so tasty, and the BBQ sauces were all really good. I also ordered the mac-n-chesse, and the crusty cheese at the top was really good. The service was good too. I recommend this place 100%

Still great restaurant to eat in...near Ford's refurbishing of historic Train Station. Ford redoing entire area... Menu has great selections.... If you get Waffle fries covered in premium cheese - you must ask for extra extra crispy waffle fries or you get under cooked fries made mushier when topped with cheese.. one portion serves two ... had great waiter.. I had pulled Pork Sandwich - which I made open faced and Waffle fries w/ cheeses...enough for two...

Came in here for a snack and definitely got to experience their barbecue. If you like your ribs to fall off the bone this isn't your place, more like gnaw them off the bone here. Wasn't overly impressed with any of the food really. This is supposed to be like a famous barbecue joint. They did have some Eagle Rare though which, is rare.. Other than that, which most of it being it's a barbecue place, nothing really to write home about I didn't think.

Let’s start with that secrete door entrance that takes everyone by surprise… more than one person fumbled alone the doors that didn’t work before discovering the wooden wall to enter this BBQ Speakeasy. The ambiance is that of a rustic modern feel. Comfort and cozy. The service is pleasant and the BBQ is overall solid. Ribs were of significant note; crispy, flavorful; wish it could be a little more moist on the inside. The brisket was very thick cut - they don’t skimp. The chopped brisket was likely my favorite. They even have vegetable BBQ. Just a solid, fun place.

Returned post pandemic and was just as delicious as I remembered. Our server was fabulous. He came within minutes of us being seated, took our drink orders, came back not longer after and took our meal orders. Our food came out not long after and everything was yum, yum. 😋 Still 5 stars 🤩

Great BBQ! Fast, friendly and reasonably priced. Not a place to go if you are looking for a large selection of foods, but everything they make is excellent. Pulled pork has crisp edges and falls apart at the same time. The sweet potato mash is unlike anything you've had and the Mac n cheese is fresh, delicious and made with large shells. Will be going back for sure!

I searched for the best BBQ places and stumbled onto this one. Slows BBQ caught my attention with all the awards it's won for it's famous sandwich and baby back ribs. I also loved the feel of the place and knew my fiance would too. The food was so good it was like being back home having a BBQ with family. The waitress was very nice and quick with checking in on us asking if we enjoyed the food or if we needed anything, she also was excited to know it was our first time there. My fiance and I both got the Favorite with BBQ chicken as the extra meat. I loved pretty much everything I got.

Slow’s is great. I have only encountered one bad experience in all my times of coming here. A group of previous coworkers went out to celebrate my birthday early and the service was excellent! I also tried the Beef Hot Link and it was one of the best sausages I have tried at any barbecue place. I highly recommend.

Very Very Old school, not exactly sparkling clean looking, could use updating. I actually love the flavor of the dogs very much. Casing was a little tough but my grandson did a Coney challenge and we both agreed the flavor of Lafayette dogs was better but we wished the casing wasn't so tough.

ok, it is pretty good! Was not sure what to expect with "Coney Island" in the name, but it was recommended as one of the goto Detroit food stops. The hot dog has all the characteristics of a good new york hot dog: snappy casing, mustard, onions, if you choose, and the bun. The difference is the chili. Not the chili I am used to, but it is more like ground beef with mild chili spices, so not greasy at all. The people running the place look to be the original founders... old. Heard them asking the customers ahead of me if they enjoyed the food, I think they care that the people enjoy their food. It shows in the taste of the food.

Perfect end to our trip home to Detroit! Nothing beats a GREAT coney dog! We had fantastic and quick service- we were treated like old customers as soon as we we walked in - if felt like being home again! We missed this being down south!!

Nostalgia at its finest! Love everything about walking into Lafayette knowing I will soon be eating the best coneys. From the hustle and bustle sounds and views of the city, to the snap of the coney dog- nothing not to fall in love with. Service is always fantastic. The taste… oh the taste. THE BEST.

I ordered the Lafayette Special with chilli Cheese Fries and let me tell you this and my wife got the Coney and fries...I've waited years to come back to Detroit specifically to come here. It was EXACTLY how I imagined. The snap of the dog, the deliciousness of the chili with the onions and mustard. The hot crispy fries smothered in cheese, chilli and onions.... PERFECT! My son was recently born in Detroit and I can't wait til he's old enough to experience what we experienced.

The Lafayette special is well worth it. The buns are soft, the dogs just pops when you bite it, and then the chili, onion, mustard are just classic mixes on all coney dogs. Even though it doesn’t look like the best atmosphere to dine in. But it was full of suit and ties people during the early afternoon and reminds me of Wall Street. It’s a sign that you know it’s returned guest and the best place to grab everyday food.

What a great experience this was! The coke alone would be 5*!! The chilli cheese fries were on point, always make sure to get them ‘smothered’ (extra onion extra chili). The hot dogs were great as well! Loaded with fresh goodness! The place does not have parking though, from the looks of it, so you’ll need to secure street parking. It’s also just minutes from the border so you could quickly hop on over from Windsor have a quick bite and head right back! Will definitely be a top item again on our next trip!

It was a pretty good hot dog. Being from Texas, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a pretty standard hot dog. The wiener was tougher than normal to bite through. And the Bathroom was in an uncomfortable tight staircase downward. And there wasn’t any soap. To be fair, I’m not normally a hot dog person but it was a must do according to the locals.

Another Detroit staple, the Coney Dog. We tried the famous Lafayette. The chili was unique and the dog had a great snap and flavor. A good chili dog always soaks up the nights beverages...

Definitely has a Classic Detroit feel. We had the Lafayette specials. The Coneys were definitely fully loaded. Bonus, everything is $5 or less an item.

I got the Lafayette special and it was very good. The staff are friendly and the food is quick. They are definitely a local gem. Make sure to try a donut while you’re here!

Had a Lafayette Special and Chili Cheese Fries add Shredded Cheddar. Neither were particularly amazing, but were good enough I would visit again on occasion. Can't beat the price. Dig in and eat up. Make a trip down to the restroom, you won't regret it.

They have delicious Detroit style coneys. The coney sauce has great flavor and the dogs were tasty. Small place so you might have to wait when it's busy. The service was very fast even when it was packed.

This is my first time visiting Fishbone's, and I can see why it is a classic Detroit institution. Unfortunately, most of it was closed because of COVID. It would have been so fun to be able to sit in the center area with the waterfall coming down. The wait staff were very nice and accommodating, however. We ordered the classic saginaki and they promptly lit it on fire. It was tasty because it's basically melted cheese. I would stick to the soul food on the menu. I tried a sushi roll just to try it, but they should really stick to one type of cuisine.

My dinner here was great. The fried alligator was incredible. The orange roughy was perfect. The sides and special sauce so very tasty. My server was absolutely outstanding. The only issue is, I wanted to go back. The second night I tried there was an hour+ wait, long line. Ok, popular, no problem. The third visit there was no line but we were greeted what we all 3 felt was very rudely. While there was no line we were told they were full up. "No, no, no!". We were told 25 minutes or more, but the way we were told scratched this off the list. The 3 of us left and felt like we're just were not wanted there. Very disappointing.

Everything was hot, fresh & delicious. I went Monday September 4, 2023 (Labor day) at 8:30p. I sat at the bar w/ my partner. The place was pretty slow. The bartender was kind & very helpful. We even ordered sushi togo. My was really good and flavorful. It just wasn’t as spicy as I wanted. My love adored his Chicken Pasta Orleans. && babyyy that Alligator Voodoo was so fresh & powerful!

The service was great, especially because we came close to closing time (arrived at 830p, doors locked at 930p) with a party of 8. The food was overall fantastic. My grits were a bit dryer than I imagined, for my shrimp and grits dinner but the kick of the sauce was nice 👌🏾. My Husband's Lamb chops were cooked perfectly. We WILL be returning for a family gathering when possible!

Crab stuffed shrimp was good but the tuna steak was cooked completely inconsistent. We asked to send it back and instead they just took it off our bill. We also never got bread like all the other tables and the waiter left us with empty glasses most of the night. That being said, there's an excellent bakery down the street when you leave here hungry....

We had an early dinner here after a recommendation from a local. We were not disappointed. I had the Faroe Island salmon and my husband had the grilled salmon salad. Both of them were delicious. And our service was excellent. If we lived here we would definitely return.

First time there. I will be back. Atmosphere was great. Good even better. We had a large party. Took a little bit longer to get everyone meals. That’s ok because food was good. Park in front of restaurant. Cost 10$. Not bad !

Cool place. Our server Denis was great. Only regret was that i didn’t get a full bowl of gumbo for my meal. A cup wasn’t enough!

I took my mom to dinner Friday night and there was a 15% gratuity added onto our check. I honestly thought it was a suggestion, as most places do these days, so I put zero in the tip line and signed the amount for the total of our actual order sans the 15% because we always tip in cash. The pending charge on my credit card was for the actual meal so I thought nothing of it. The transaction just cleared though and they still added in the 15%. Our food and service was good, but not $60 tip good (the forced tip plus our cash). And since when does a party of two get a forced gratuity charge?? I understand parties of 6 or more, but two people??

I had the filet, which was cooked to perfection. The guests that I was with their food was cooked to perfection also. The service however was horrible. We sat there over 45 minutes waiting on refills, only for another waitress to come by and after asking her for a refill to no avail. We kindly asked our server (Summer) for our checks, after 45 minutes and not returning we kindly asked another server (Athena) for our checks, and she did so hastily and happily!!

It is not easy to give Joe Muer Seafood a 3-star. The food was better than most seafood restaurants in US but it is an upscale fancy place with dress codes for Everyone so I had to raise the bar. The raw bar was closed during lunch. They were out of few other fishes which is understandable during the pandemic. The beets salad had fresh arugula and beets but the beets were cut into quarters which is little hard to eat without cutting. The perch was fresh but the it was sauté little too much so it was dry. The mashed potato was so so. The Australian sea bass was good. Now, the signature dessert, Coconut cake, was very much like a cheesecake. I found out later that they had a dessert display cart that had several delicious looking desserts which was never shown to us. A 20% gratitude was automatically added to our bill for 2 people. I would have left more tips besides the 20% if the service was better. The main dining room has very nice view of Canada and the lake if you are not wearing any sportswear.

We were planning on going to another restaurant but it was full. We went to this place on a whelm, a year after Covid, a day before Father's Day and last minute, but we were lucky they had a table. You usually have to reserve a spot. The food was excellent, had great service. We were recommended the crab cakes by the security guard. They were good, This place specializes in seafood dishes.

My favorite restaurant in Detroit. We celebrate a birthday here every year and it’s absolutely phenomenal. Restaurant is right next to and overlooking the beautiful Detroit River. The staff and management at this location are phenomenal. Seafood is so fresh and absolutely make sure to leave room for their desert cart. Specifically for their coconut cake, my favorite and so good.

Great atmosphere. The view of the river was Clutch! The food was absolutely amazing. I had the Crab Stuffed Atlantic Flounder. It was fluffy, full of flavor and hands down some of the best fish I ever had. We will be back! But next time.... 2 things: 1) We'll get a room upstairs in the Renaissance for the view. 2) Ill buy a bottle of wine. Lol. Our waiter was amazing but also extremely busy (Valentines Weekend).

While in Detroit, we were looking for places with happy hours, and came across Joe Muer Seafood, conveniently located inside our hotel, the Renaissance Centre. We had an absolutely fabulous experience here. While the regular menu is a bit pricey (though good quality), the happy hour is a great, affordable way to experience the restaurant and amazing views. The snacks and drinks on the special happy hour menu were inventive and delicious - we tried every one and shared them between our group of five. Our favourite snacks were the fries and the calamari - definitely some of the best calamari I've ever had. It was crispy and perfectly seasoned, with a delicious dipping sauce. Our group also tried different local beers and some cocktails - my favourite was the lemon drop. We loved the experience so much that we came back almost every day while we were in the city. The views, food and service were second to none. Since the happy hour is quite popular, it can be a bit tight at the bar, however there are two sides that you can choose to sit at. The restaurant does also have a strict dress code in place - one member of the group had to change out of her yoga pants before being allowed to enter. We were ok with this, as it does help to maintain a great experience and upscale ambiance. This is a must-try staple when in Detroit.

The food was amazing as always, but the service was slow. One of the guest in my party ordered a medium steak that came out well done. We had already waited about 45 minutes for our food. Ambiance was perfect and overall had a good time!

Went to dinner here with a coworker. Food and service was good, but we were surprised to see that an automatic 20% gratuity was added to our bills. We both worked food service when we were younger, are very generous tippers, and are used to seeing added gratuity for larger groups, but not on a ticket for one person. We did still tip a little more because we tip for service, but had we got bad service, it would have been a different story. Just beware when dining here folks, it seems tipping is no longer a optional expression of appreciation but a requirement.

My daughter and son in law made 6:00pm reservations for Mother's Day, A table for 4. In hopes of making this a really special evening for me. This was my first Mother's Day without my mother, she recently passed. My husband and I arrived first and was advised they were running 15 minutes behind. We were seated at 6:30pm. We were also advised there was a dress code, which we didn't mind because we love to dress up and dine out. Only to see that some people were dressed in jeans and some very little clothing. So, my husband and I were shocked that he was asked to remove his hat walking to our table. (My husband always remove his hat once we're seated) My daughter and son in law arrived and they had gifts for me along with 3 balloons. They were told balloons were not allowed and they held them in the front. That was a bit upsetting to my daughter especially with seeing a table right next to us with balloons. Our waitress was very pleasant however it took some time for us to place our order. We ordered appetizers that didn't come out. My food had to be sent back because it was not hot. My husband's chicken was very dry. Once our dinner was served the waitress brought out our appetizers. This was our first time dining and although our experience was not the greatest, we may give it another try some time in the future in hopes of a much better experience. I was so hoping to give a 5 star review, especially with our bill being a little shy of $400.00 The plating of the food was nice. I only wish the entire experience would have matched.

I was so lucky enough to be taken here for my birthday 🎉 celebration by my lovely girlfriend and this was my second the time going to a upscale restaurant. View of the water was surreal it being frozen and the background of Canada was beautiful. Our seating was near of window. The drinks were good though I'm not a drinker (do with that information as you will). I was talked into the Twin Lobster Tail against the Whole Lobster because the ones that was on hand was rather small so shout out to our waiter. The food was amazing 🤩

Went there for a Birthday for my wife. Food, atmosphere, and service impeccable. But have to laugh at pettiness of Joe Muers. I spent $380 for 3 people, we ordered desert and waiter was nice to bring a very small cake with a candle. When I received the bill, I found out they charged me for it. A small thing but truly surprised me.

Fabulous evening on the Detroit River for our 33rd Anniversary. View was great, food was fabulous, and our server Terry was terrific. The atmosphere and music was on point for the occasion. Thank you Joe Muer for providing a wonderful dining experience. One more shout out to Terry !

This was a perfect dining experience. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience.

Food is awesome. So many great flavor combinations that I wouldn’t think of. Every bite is delicious. Great place for a date night! Have a hard to impress food snob friend? Take them here. We had zero complaints.

I am comfortable and confident making this statement: Selden Standard is THE BEST restaurant in Michigan. I visited Selden Standard for the first time in 2018 and have been a returning customer ever since, never once having a dish any less than a 10/10. Words to describe Selden: Dreamy, Euphoric, Exquisite. It awakens and introduces you to taste buds that you didn’t know existed. Selden Standard is a consciously and seasonally sourced farm-to-table restaurant. The local farms and small businesses that they use are listed at the bottom of their frequently rotating menu. The service is beautiful, passionate, caring, unpretentious and patient. The Wait Staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine on the menu and are alway eager to guide you in the right direction. Andrew is a personal favorite, as his service is above and beyond. I recommend Selden for a romantic date night OVER a steak house (recommend reservations!) OR a solo foodie trip at the Chef’s Counter. I would say 3 plates PER person to share is a great place to start. My personal favorite seasonal items are their rabbit, swordfish, trout, and vegetable carpaccio. Trendy upmarket restaurant with fresh and seasonal food. Some dishes better than others - the kale salad, parsnips, beef tartare and squid the standout. Great to take a group and share so you can try a few things. Not super excited by the wine options, but is very much a personal taste. The cocktails were delicious - recommend the Catching Rabbits.

🥘🥘🥘🥘🥘 Best restaurant in Detroit. Menu items added weekly to incorporate seasonal offerings. Food and drink at its finest. Curated wine list featuring small batch vintners. Great staff. Bartenders are long timers who know their customers. Never ever a bad meal.

Consistency. I've been coming to Selden for a few years now and I've always had delicious food and great experiences. Their menu is always evolving but you can always expect a creative salad choice, a ridiculously good pasta, and a perfectly cooked meat selection. Pair it with a glass of wine or a craft cocktail from the bar (my preferred seat) and you'll be all set, ohh but don't forget to ask for their bread. Great place for a date, meeting with friends, or bringing your mom for her birthday

Terrific menu. This is a busy place, and the food is fresh, flavorful and fun. We shared some small plates and had some top notch cocktails. Kale Salad, a cheesy mound of goodness. Roasted Asparagus with wild Ramps and pistachio butter- a lovely melody of texture and flavor. Carrot Fritters that were just a lovely riff on a latke, with BBQ seasoning with a light buttermilk sauce. We ended our meal sharing the Chorizo with local Michigan Beans. This was a terrific sharing meal.

Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.
