Darwin

The city of Darwin is a good starting point for exploring Australia's tropical north. Situated on shores of the Timor Sea, Darwin is a base for activities such as diving and snorkeling, canoeing and kayaking, bushwalking, fishing, wildlife watching, and four-wheel driving. The "Gem of the Top End" is also known for its vast mangrove forests, hot springs, tidal lagoons, and Aboriginal culture.
