Hands down the best Japanese garden in Tokyo. The garden is large and cheap to visit at 300 yen a person. What's nice is that it is situated on the bay, so there is a nice coastal breeze that comes in on a warm afternoon. Spring is particularly nice, with many cherry trees! Lastly, they have rebuilt many buildings on site, and its great to observe the traditional building techniques.

Lovely garden previously owned by a Shogun Family and now opened to the general public for a small fee. The well groomed gardens with tea houses have some beautiful 300 year old pine trees apparently planted by the 6th generation Shogun. There a waterways or trenches dedicated to a particular type of duck hunting using crooks from what I understand. The Cherry blossoms were just starting to bloom when I visited and I imagine the gardens would be spectacular in the height of spring. The gardens are fairly central in Tokyo and the background of city buildings provides an interesting contrast. A very pleasant way to experience some of the clever topiary characteristic of Japan. 4.5 ⭐️

Just stunning. Highly recommend getting the boat cruise here from Asakusa Pier, then wandering the grounds (1050 yen inc garden entry). Stop off for matcha and sweets in the teahouse (850 yen).

Here is the only one in Tokyo that we can watch KABUKI almost every day. If you can`t understand Japanese, you can use translator (it might cost under 1,000Yen). After an appreciation, you can go to "Tsukiji" market on foot and eat fresh fishes.

Came here for traditional Japanese theatre and was not disappointed. Kabuki-Za is the real deal with a beautiful stage and fantastic performances. The ushers are very helpful if you have any questions - great service. The entrance to the theatre is also just incredible to look at. It will be better if you dress up to go in, though, but there is no strict dress code.

Although a magnificent old building, good seating with no restricted views (nor of people in front), well performed and stage settings, it is let down by having no rolling subtitles. Even Japanese get an audio (pay) so for a foreigner, the plays can get tedious without knowing what is going on. The excuse of Covid is ludicrous.

A place of pure Japanese culture to watch traditional kabuki drama. Seats from higher ranks are way cheaper and still offer a good stage view. Earphone-guides provide translation services of dialogues and lyrics from traditional Japanese to English language.

The teather has a massive stage that rotates between acts to reveal different beautiful sets. If you've never seen a kabuki opera, booking a one act ticket is definitely worth. No translation or opera description is provided and not all acts/operas have the most flamboyant kabuki costumes.

I knew about the Kabukiza show before going to Tokyo. I tried to buy tickets online before arriving, but It was difficult for me to navigate the website. Once I arrived in Tokyo, I asked the concierge at my hotel for assistance, but the website showed the shows as sold out. I decided to go and take a picture of the theatre exterior. Once I got to the theatre, I asked about tickets because I saw a lady at a desk that read "ask me about tickets." This wonderful woman took me to a door labeled "Entrance for Single Act." I could see that everything was "sold out," but a gentleman was working at this door and told me to use my phone and search each barcode by time for a seat. It was about 3:00 pm, so I tried the 4:30 pm barcode. There was a seat, so I was able to book it. I need to mention that I had a pocket wifi. If I didn't have wifi, I wouldn't have been able to book the seat. I don't understand how a seat was available for a sold-out show, but I'm so happy I got in. My ticket cost 710 yen. The performance was for 30 minutes. The gentleman gave me a program about the performance in english. The show I saw was a comedy about a husband and wife making and selling dumplings. In the lower level by the theatre. I enjoyed a delicious lunch and looked at Kabukiza gift items and sweets before the show. It was fantastic. My seat was in the last row of the theatre, but I had no problem seeing and understanding the show. It was so good. This is definitely one of the top things to do, in my opinion, and I would definitely like to do this again.

Kabuki should not be an option for anyone in Japan. It should be mandatory. The amount of time, preparation, and level of performance on display makes this a "Must see" for everyone. Personally, I would advise buying the slightly more expensive seats. However, I don't think there is a bad seat in the venue. Also, the headphones provide a Japanese only perspective to the performance. However, they're optional. Enjoy!

An amazing theatre! So close between stage and seats. I was so excited to watch! I'm really happy to visit here!

Must-do when in Tokyo! Even as non Japanese speaker it is interesting to visit the theater and to see the great costumes and all the effort put into the show. We have purchased the ticket online. It is easy and you can choose the price category of your tickets as well. When on site, you will receive a sheet of information (in English) about the different acts (6 in total). We watched the three first acts from 11:00 to around 15:00. You have breaks in between each act and during lunch you can have a great bento (to be ordered in advance in front of the entrance to the theater hall). Eating is not allowed during the show but can be done during the breaks. Photos are not allowed as well when the show is going.

Too quiet as a tourist street. 20% of the shops are still closed (probably due to COVID). Very few people walking down and /or eating there. However just before I left, look whom I bumped into! I met the symbol of this island! What a luck!

Lots of choices and it’s just a matter of deciding. Not a lot of people on a Thursday night but the amount of choices was a bit intimidating, that’s not a bad thing at all. If Monja is your thing, the place is definitely worth a visit.

It’s a unique and cool sight to see so many restaurants in close proximity, all competing with the exact same food. No guarantee you can get into any single one, but walk around and you’re sure to find a shop without too much of a wait where you can get some authentic monjayaki.

Had a good time with the local cuisine. There were some good bakeries as well as the bars/restaurants. Was concerned about the smoking inside but the vent fans did a great job pulling the smoke out

Nice shopping street with a lot of restaurants proposing the monjayaki, a kind of omelette/pancakes. It is very fun to do as you cook it directly on your dining table. We had a good time there!

An unsuspected place! Beautiful garden on top, different spaces with a cool vibe to discover underground. While the original Sony Building is closed due to reconstruction, this is like an urban pop up space. It seems like what's on offer might change from time to time. We enjoyed listening to different music and playing games projected onto table tops. There's also a cafe, restrooms, a small store and space to hang out. It's probably not a destination in itself, but awesome to have an oasis to come to when your are walking around the neighbourhood, especially if you have been on your feet all day. And it's free of charge.

Always come to see the different exhibits. They never fail to entertain me. Such a nice day out visiting here and looking around ginza. The staff are always super helpful and all the facilities are clean.

This is a great longer term pop up park which will be removed once the site is redeveloped. The surface park has many benches and is a great place to people watch. The basement level is an exhibition space.There is connection to the subway which was how I discovered it.

Cool spot to explore and spend some time. We met Aibo the Sony dog and the staff were awesome. Downstairs you'll find listening stations with headphones to explore different kinds of music. There's also a bar on the next level that has different beers and small snacks. On the bottom floor you'll find a cool record shop environment that people hang out in.

It was right behind the Suitengu-Mae Station so is very comfortable and convenient! The Temple itself is quite small and not much to see or do besides praying for the health of your baby.

It has been a little bit long years to back this shrine since the last to pray the birth of our child.

This is a special shrine where people primarily come to pray for blessings for a newborn, safe pregnancies and child deliveries. The shrine was recently renovated to be more earthquake resistant as well as to create a barrier free environment for visitors.

Also a bit sad that husbands are not allowed to attend the pray, not even allowed to wait in the line together from certain point, so it’s definitely better to go here on weekdays.

Great sushi joint in the heart of the markets. It’s not a fancy place, it’s a restaurant chain….but great service and quality of food as well. I loved the tuna selection. Continuing the tradition of the pristine Sushizanmai Tsukji, this new branch didn’t cease to amaze. Ample varieties, easy to order, prompt service and the succulent taste define Sushizanmai.

A restaurant chain in Tsukiji fish market Tokyo, well known for his owner's record buying super expensive fish! The sushi is fresh, delicious and has so many varieties. Price is very reasonable, service is nice and fast. However the place is relatively small, and there could be a long queue during lunch hour, I would love to come back again. My favorite is the sushi with thick slice of fatty tuna, the best!

Good affordable fresh sushi and sashimi right in the heart of Tsukiji. This brunch is not as popular so it’s much easier to get a seat and the queues are shorter but it’s the same menu and service. The chefs are attentive and keen to feed.

Fresh and delicious sushi moderately priced. English menu available. Staff do not speak much English but we all figured it out. This location does get busy during peak times so there is a podium outside for you to write your name and # of people and wait in line outside.

24-hour restaurant that offers fresh sashimi! Fatty tuna never disappoint me. And the crab paste sushi was delicious! Dons are at a good price too and not cheap on the sashimi. So if you stay in this area and don’t know what to eat for lunch or dinner or late night snacks, come here and point anything you want to eat or just pick up one of the discounted boxes in the fridge outside. This place won’t fail you.

We came here on a week night around 8pm. It was not crowded, we got seated right away. Waitress was friendly. Ordering was easy too. Everything was done on a little tablet on the table. Food came out very quick. Sushi was fresh and tasty. The price was a little on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend this place for tourists.

Great customer service but the sushi was not. We walked up to the restaurant and was immediately greeted and taken to our seats. The waitress spoke English and took our order. Then the chef came out, greeted us, chatted a little and asked if he could make a steamed egg dish for our daughter which was great. Throughout the meal, the staff were super attentive. Now the sushi. The rice was harder than I’m used to but seasoned well. The majority of the fish tasted old/dry. The scallop and tunas were good. The tomago was also good. I forget what one of the other fish was which was also good but everything else just did not taste good at all. I had to force myself to swallow 4 of the nigiri pieces. So of the 16 piece set, 5 were good, 4 were terrible, and the rest were okay. For 44,800 yen, it was not worth it.

At most, the ingredients are manipulated by hand. As a consolation, the customers get to view the preparation with their own eyes, piece by piece. Vloggers, YouTubers, Tik-Tok creators, celebrities, and Google Reviewers have all spoken about Kyubey, and there is no shortage of content showcasing the cuisine. If I had to say one sentence about this: If you love Sushi, this place is a 11/10. These chefs have been classically trained, each cooking tool meticulously maintained, ingredients perfect. The chefs will wipe down your plate with each sushi piece to ensure no taste is mixed with a previous piece. They'll bring out live shrimp on ice, separate the head and tail, and serve the freshly killed shrimp on a bed of rice, life barely still inside the shrimp. Later, they'll serve the head and tail, cooked, making sure none of the food goes to waste. The Wasabi is freshly ground on a grinder made of sharkskin. Seriously, can this get any better? For any friends and family coming to visit Japan, check out this place. Kyubey would be an amazing highlight to any Japan trip.

We ordered take out sushi. The staff was very attentive and polite. The packages of sushi were nicely packed. The sushi was amazing even for take out!

Beautiful, delicious cuts of fish and other small dishes. Money well spent. So good, even Obama ordered Kyubey to his room twice (Look it up)! Friendly reminder to be respectful and presentable when dining here. They try their best to partner you with an English speaking chef. One of the cool moments was when they brought out raw shrimp to prepare. The shrimp were so lively that they jumped right into the soy sauce pot! Eventually, the shrimp was prepared raw and the head and tail were fried. No waste.

This was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had! My boyfriend and I did the sushi omakase of 10 plates. It did not disappoint. Each sushi got better and better. Literally melting in my mouth. Also the soup they gave us in between was so unique, It tasted like a bbq broth. The chef was welcoming and had beautiful energy🙏🏻 We felt super comfortable. Even the owner introduced himself which I thought was a nice touch. We truly had a wonderful experience at our first sushi place in Tokyo. We will be coming back!

Truly amazing experience I had here. The food is delicious and everything is made with so much care. They try to showcase the produce in a simplistic way which elaborates the flavors on its own. This is definitely worth it for the price and will probably be the best bites of food you eat in your life. The service is amazing with how friendly everyone is.

To be completely honest - This restaurant has very strict rules. But if you follow everything written on their rule-board, then it is totally worth the price for the all-you-can-eat Wagyu dinner. Some rules to keep in mind before you decide to come in: 1) You can’t order any additional meat for the first 30 minutes because you have to finish the meat platter provided by the restaurant first. 2) You can only order two meats at a time. 3) You cannot order meats if you are still grilling. Must finish before the next round. 4) For the 90 minutes all-you-can-eat, their last call is at 60 minutes so you kinda have to hurry 😂 we barely talked to each other because of this time constraint. I liked their beef tongue, beef tenderloin, brisket, and the cold noodle. Didn’t quite get their steak. But overall, as long as you have proper expectations, then you wouldn’t regret going because their Wagyu isn’t the super fatty type that stuffs you up and yet you do get a good value for what you’re paying for.

Good service and meat is really quick to serve for the buffet. A lot of options on the menu to choose from, likewise for the drinks menu. Location is near to Ginza station as well, all is good. Will def come back again! 👍🏻

The interior and atmisphere is really nice (wooden tables, great soft music in the background). As you can see on the picture, the meal starts with a selection of meat (selection can be different depending on the day), what really helped to try out new ones and to find the ones you want to order more of. Also the side dishes were delicious and of high quality. Last but not least, the service was excellent (friendly and professional). Thank you very much!

Meat quality was okay (sometimes a bit too fatty) for the price but the overall experience made it not worth the price. I have been to quite a lot of all you can eat and I'm well aware of the rule not to order if you haven't finished what you have ordered but this is the first place that I have to finish eating everything before I can order more (unlike other places which I can order after I've finished grilling). It will not be a problem if the staff bring the order fast after I order but I literally have to wait like around 10' for my order to come so me and my family just sat there looking at each other for most of the time lol 🌚. Also the mask rule, it was fine until the staff told us to put on the mask while we're grilling the meat since we're not eating 😷. Well I might be attacked by the owner after this review since I saw what he did to other bad reviews but I got to say what I got to say 🤷‍♀️ I was 10' late because I missed the train I did apologize to them and accept that I will have less time to eat and I accept my mistake but the first meat came after I sat down for 15' at the table 🙆‍♂️

Will never return to this scam ever again. They got the view, yes. The meat quality is okay. But the service is a complete fraud. "All you can eat" in this restaurant only allows you to get 2 extra orders max after the first [mandatory] meat plater, it takes well over 20 minutes each order just to get you 4 mini slices of meat. And the real scam starts the moment you walk in, your eating time countdown starts the moment the waiter takes you to your table, while this terrible Indian waiter spends A LOT of time explaining the menu, because he couldn't speak english well, it took almost 15 minutes from me started to sit to the moment he took the order. Then, another 15-20 minutes tp prepare for the meat platter, which by this point we already given up 30 minutes of our 90-minute plan, UNKNOWINGLY. The worst part, you have to finish your meat down to you last piece of meat on your plate, until the waiter see your plate empty, or else they won't take your orders. The worst part in the scam is they take 15-20 minutes of your high-paid "all you can eat" time just to prepare a few slices of meat, and 30 minutes before your eating time the waiter will call for your last order. These are all I could get in 90 minutes for 2 people. Those 2 little plates each took 20 minutes to get to my table. Real scam.

Great place with great meat. We came here as they offered unlimited A5 on their menu. First you will receive a plate of great cuts. Once you have finished those you can order unlimited food from their menu including the A5 cuts. The staff was super helpful and really showed their knowledge of the meat. Their English is not as great, but they have English menu's and explanation available.

When one comes to this kind of place, the beef quality should be pretty good. I'm sure there are better quality. I have plenty of Wagyu A5 but not enough to tell how good they really were. Nonetheless, a few of them were really good. They also gifted a plate of steak which as the worst quality and very tough. Probably a strategy to have us finish extra steaks before we can order more. The side dishes were surprisingly well. Another tactic to fill us up instead of ordering more A5. The bibimbap was very good, even a green salad was very fresh and delicious. The reason I didn’t give a 5 stars rating was because of the service. They were very polite and nice but we had to keep asking for water. 3-4 times. I think it’s a training issues. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a good meal but make sure you make a reservation.

Very bad service. Staff is not polite, it took so long to come service every time you call. The worst part is that All meat has to be grilled and eaten into your mouth before you can order the new ones. Then you have to wait for 5-10 mins until it comes. They will serve you a plate of suggested meat at first, and it will take 30 mins to finish that. Then you can order what you want to eat, which they only allow 2 meats at a time. The WORST buffet experiences ever, DO NOT COME HERE!!! (Its ok they cant speak english, but its the service manner that makes restaurant a nice place to visit) Soso wagyu. go somewhere else for better experience.

As others have mentioned, service is pretty bad. They are slow and I had to repeatedly ask multiple times for something I ordered and never got. It's all you can eat, but the fire is so slow that by the time you finish the main plate, there's not much time to order anything else.

Finally I tried this in Tokyo. I’m surprised when there’s quite a long q on Sunday around 8+ today there’s q but there’s single seats so I got a seat quite quickly. It’s quite a big bowl order normal for the noodle but I guessed the firm would be better for me. Used a tablet to order where there’s English so no worries and they accept credit cards.

We went for an early dinner to avoid the lines and luckily there was no wait for a party of 2. There is limited seating, but luckily it wasn't too cramped. You order from tablets and we got the Karaka, Shiromaru, and the gyoza. The ramen was good, but I have had richer and more flavorful ramen at other places in Japan. The gyoza was also good, and overall I enjoyed the experience.

After having visited Ippudo in other countries, it was great to finally try Ippudo in Japan. We arrived around dinner time, so there was a bit of a wait, but customers were able to scan the menu while waiting in line, and this helped to move things along quickly. Service was fast and friendly, the food was good, personally love the fresh garlic and condiments that we could help ourselves to. A personal note for large groups - we find that it is usually faster to be seated if we split up into smaller groups of 2-4.

Traveling to Tokyo for business so having dinner solo. This was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Got my own area. Gyoza was solid. But the Karaka is ridiculous. Literally the best ramen noodles/broth I've ever tasted in my life. The random jazz music playing was a fun touch.

Ippudo was a ramen stop with higher expectations given constant talk about the broth and, although the ramen itself was flavorful, the location was not very enjoyable. The service was very careless, spilling the ramen from the bowl and pouring the mugicha on the table without recognizing or cleaning it up. The space was also very tight and we were squeezed closer to others than in any other ramen joint. It was also excessively loud which didn't fit the ramen vibe at all. Lastly, food wise, the ramen we ordered was quite flavorful. The broth bases were tasty although slightly watered down. The noodles were al dente as desired, but seemed like spaghetti noodles from a barilla box. Toppings were decent but the egg was not seasoned well, just an egg. Overall it was experienced. Tried and tasted.

I ordered Akamaru ramen and gyoza. I had Ippudo ramen at their Indonesian branch before. It had always been a favorite, but eating it in Japan made a whole different experience. They don’t have chicken karaage in the menu, but they have this spicy bean sprouts on every table. It was so good!! It goes so well with the ramen. I would also suggest to order hard/firm noodles. They will get softer as you eat.

I heard a lot about this chain ramen place for tonkatsu ramen. In short, I would say it's a little overrated for the price. The ramen overall is good but lacks the richness. I was surprised by the gyoza's size. It's smaller than the standard ones. But I really liked the taste (especially the chutney they give with gyoza). They have a tablet system to order and it's available in English as well. The staff can also speak basic English. During peak hours you can expect to wait for 15-20 min in the line. The service and atmosphere is good. Once in a while, you can visit.

Had their plant based ramen today and I must say it was delicious. Very appreciative of this option. First time visiting and hopefully I can go back if there are more plant based / vegan options. Would be lovely to be able to order a set but as the ramen was the only option I just went with that and it was very filling.

Excellent food served hot and fresh… Ramen is out of this world, as are the gyozas! Fast and friendly service. A great spot to rest up and unwind a little before hitting the pavement to shop and explore this awesome area of Tokyo!

One of the best meals we had in Tokyo on a rainy Sunday night, the queue was still going strong around 8:30pm but the turnover was pretty fast so we only waited for around 15 minutes. Since it was late and the weather was bad, we decided to hit this place up which was conveniently located just beside our hotel. What a great decision it turned out to be. We had the shiromaru classic, the broth was very flavourful and the ramen was cooked to perfection with the right amount of "bounciness". No wonder the place was packed!

This was my 4th Ippudo restaurant around the world and 1st in Japan and surprisingly, the worst one so far. The broth was so so, not very flavourful, but the noodles and the egg were good. Gyoza was fresh, but definitely not the best I've had in my life. I would not go back - there are better ramen places in Tokyo.

2/5 The experience was great but the food did not wow me one bit. I get that most of the appeal of this place might be the entertainment or gimmick but if you’re going to a restaurant for that, you’re better off paying for an amusement park. The food itself was above average at best but given the VALUE for what you’re paying for, it’s quite mediocre. It’s expensive and at $200 USD I expect to be wow’d for at least 80% of the dishes but was wow’d zero times. Didn’t even bother taking pictures since I just wanted to leave halfway through.

Great dinner and entertainment. Unique experience. [Keywords] Original, molecular world cuisine, entertainment, counter style, interactive, friendly and fancy. [Reservation] We made reservation via phone call, around a month earlier. During the phone call, we were asked if we are celebrating a special day. If you are celebrating a special day, you are also asked to send information about celebration in email (in our case birthday girl’s name). During the phone call, we were informed about the price. Then, they sent an email for confirmation. [Arrive 30 min early] It is recommended to arrive half an hour early and wait at the fancy lounge while having a drink. Drinks costs around 2000 yen. If you are lucky, you can even get a seat next to window. I added a photo of the lounge to show the atmosphere. It is quite nice, and mostly have women having tea time or drinks. [Restrooms :)] Check out the restrooms with Sky tree & Tokyo view on the same floor. I have added a photo for the view. [Experience & Atmosphere] Chef was raised in Canada, so he speaks fluent English. If you are foreigner you don’t have a reason to worry. He cooks, prepares plates, and explains everything in English right in front of you. You will be sitting at a counter. The maximum number of customers is eight. Food is delicious and original, generally prepared by combining different cooking methods or different dishes together. Story telling makes evening even better. It is a very interactive experience. You are allowed to take any video or photo, ask questions to chef. After dinner, you can even have a bit chat and/or photo with him. In many restaurants, chefs cook in front of you without interaction, but here part of the package is interaction. If you want a dinner where you want to chat with your date or friend, this is not the right place for you. Here, chef almost speaks none stop. You are there mostly to listen his stories, and eat what he prepares. It is quite interesting and an original experience. You switch from one plate to another, and one story to another. There is not much time between plates either. At first, I was not sure whether we should spend this amount of money on food, but believe me, once you are there, you will want to spend even more :) The atmosphere is friendly and fancy at the same time. They had a small surprise for my birthday and honeymoon celebrating couple. [Customers] During our visit, one couple was on their honeymoon, three foreigners were on a business trip, we were celebrating my birthday :) and one customer was a solo traveler. Everyone seemed to have very good time. Everyone was dressed smart casual. [Food] We enjoyed all dishes very much, but some of them were just too good. We loved the originality that brought different cooking methods and different dishes together. Highlights were fancy donut with mascarpone and caviar, lobster bourguignon, white goscht, eggs Benedict (with surprise element), and white winter. Super happy to see menu accommodates food from different countries, as it is a bit tiring to eat only traditional dishes from certain western countries. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Especially if you enjoy original experiences and have an interest in cooking. It is worth the price. It is not just food. It is also entertainment. I don’t recommend here if you want to have a conversation with your partner.

Is it fantastical, 💯%. It was almost overly appealing to the eyes for the taste buds to catch up. 5 star experience, 4.5 on taste. Which I hate to say because the chef was a wizard 🪄

Probably the best restaurant I have been. It wasn’t boring or slow like other high end restaurants such as 3 starred Michelin restaurants. It was entertaining and the dishes were cooked to the absolute perfection. The chef describes each pieces of his dishes as “art”. And I agree as every dish are finessed to the finest detail. It was entertaining as well with different creative cooking techniques such as liquid nitrogen sorbet which was delicious. I absolutely love this restaurant however you would need to book in advance since there are only eight seats. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone for dinner.
