A landmark of Bratislava this castle is situated on a hill overlooking not only the city but Austria and Hungary as well. It has been reconstructed many times throughout history and it has well preserved gardens and yard. We did not go inside, maybe another time. It offers unique views of the city's bridges, the river Danube, the cathedrals and the old and new buildings. Apart from the tourists and tourist groups, we saw local people there doing sports, taking their dogs out or just going for a walk. It's a lovely place to visit anytime of the day and at night it can be seen beautifully lighted from many parts of the city.

It was a one in a life time experience for me and my family. The history was incredible, and the views were fantastic. If you ever decide to take a backpacking trip across Eastern Europe with a friend or family, you have got to stop and take your amazing pictures here! And go through the museum too.

Beautiful castle on top of hill. The views from there are amazing. There is also a playground there in the shade. There are chairs around for the adults. The grounds are free to visit, which is fantastic. The baroque gardens are well maintained and beautiful.

I really love this castle; it's so pretty, even when you're far away. Just a little climb from the bus station, and you'll be there. The view from up there and the castle itself are both incredibly beautiful. If you're into stunning sights and don't mind a short uphill walk, you'll be amazed by this charming castle and the fantastic view.

Beautiful Castle! We didn't spend much time here, probably 30 minutes. We were on a tour of the City, and we were only able to walk around a little bit before getting on a bus to visit the rest of the City. There are great views of the City and the Danube River from here. The gardens on the north side of castle are beautiful as well.

A nice Slovak monument, though, a place that could use a bit of detailed attention. It seems new but somehow falls behind similar places, missing soul somehow. I like it the best at night when the surroundings are not full of people (you can, however, meet younger people drinking there at that time. Still worth seeing and walking in and around. Makes up for nice pictures.

Very nice place. Enter is free. Amazing view on Danube and Bratislava. Danube is green and strong with many tourist boat. There is souvenir shop, but it is very expensive. You can walk through castle and yard. It is unbelievable and unforgettable. Recommend to visit.

The must-visit place in Bratislava, which written history begins in 907, can be seen from many places in the city. The castle offers panoramic views and a rich historical experience. A nice place to visit while in Bratislava. Honestly, for me it's just a castle 😅. But have to admit that you see a nice view of the city as u go up. It overlooks the UGO tower and city bridge. Plus u can see windmills in Vienna and there is also a beautiful meadow to relax.

Not the traditional castle looking, it’s rectangular building with towers at each corner. It’s historical and nice looking you can overlook Danube river. We enjoyed our visit. 2-3 hours requires to see entire building and surroundings.

Nice walk from the Old City but be prepared for steep climbs. Amazing views I’d the city and surround area. Didn’t go inside the castle but you can wander the grounds freely.

Very cute place. You can enjoy the views and gardens for free. If you want to get inside you have to pay for a ticket, the museum was not very big and with different things not related to the castle such as more contemporary history and modern art. If you are not a big fan you could skip it and enjoy instead the views and take pictures from outside the castle

Nice castle and a fun walk through little streets to get there. The castle had been destroyed and rebuild so it looks pretty new and doesn’t have that typical castle feel. Fun to walk around it and enjoy the view and the garden without having to pay entrance! It’s not a very big area, we walked around for about 30 minutes.

What a beautiful view to watch another leisurely day come to an end. Worth the short hike up. A must see for any tourist. The bathrooms were not open after hours when I visited though or I couldn't find them. The map was not helpful in that regard.

Castle is well worth the visit - and it’s free. The view is great. But, the museum costs money ….. however, it’s half price for seniors and students and it’s absolutely brilliant. We didn’t go inside the museum, but the grounds are beautiful and so peaceful! I was surprised how few people were in the gardens. I sat on an bench out there for a while, and it was very relaxing. It’s way up on a hill, but definitely worth the walk!

The ever famous statue of Cumil is well known in slovakia, especially in the old town bratislava area. Several stories were shared on how this came about, either he is relentlessly working hard due to nonstop work and he did this post to depict that even if he is tired, he is still dedicated. Another story goes that he is a slacker, and just rests the whole day. Either way, he is now a symbol of hardwork. They say that you need to touch his head to receive goodluck. You can see this figure in tourist souvenir shops along with the other statues in the old town area.

This was a cute little figurine in the old town of Bratislava. We visited Cumil, clicked pictures with him and he bid us goodbye graciously. This was a nice addition to the trip. We also saw the #menatwork sign beside him to prevent people from falling down at night

This is surely a quirky statue in Bratislava, the Capital of the Slovak Republic. His name is Čumil, the Slovak word actually means “watcher”. It only takes a quick glance at the face of the man at work at the junction of Laurinská and Panská Streets to understand why he goes by the name “the watcher”. The bronze statue, with a grin on his face, peeks his head from underneath a manhole cover in the Old Town and he is popular among tourists and locals alike. You cannot visit Bratislava without saying hi to Čumil! And make sure to take a photo – this is actually one of the most photographed objects in Bratislava. Čumil is one of many statues in the Old Town of Bratislava. Other statues include Paparazzi, Schöner Náci, and Napoleon’s Soldier. These statues appeared in 1997, a couple of years after Slovak independence. This was at a time when the city was polishing its image after its Communist past. Čumil is the work of Slovak sculptor Viktor Hulík. The artist was born in 1947 in Bratislava. As for Čumil, there are a couple of theories about his name. Maybe he’s resting after a hard day’s work cleaning the sewers or perhaps he’s a typical communist-era worker who works little and watches a lot or maybe he’s just trying to get a look under the ladies’ skirts.... Anyway, this sympathetic man seems to enjoy his surroundings. There are careless drivers everywhere and Bratislava is no exception! The poor statue actually lost his head twice. Because of this, he was given his own road sign that reminds passers-by of the man at work. Legend has it that those who touch the head of the man will get a wish come true – if they manage to keep it a secret forever. How to find Him? The best way to find this spot is on foot. Amongst the cafés, restaurants, and shops of the Old Town, you will find the statue. It is situated in the front the corner of Rybárska brána (Fishermen’s gate), at the junction of Panská and Laurinská streets. Just follow the crowds and as I already said, bring your camera! There’s often a street band playing in the corner as well.

Just as Bratislava Castle is a symbol of the city of Bratislava, the bronze statue of Čumil (literally "the Gaper") is a symbol of busy streets in the center of Bratislava. Čumil peeks out of the canal, smiles, and looks dreamy into the distance. The bronze statue of Čumil enjoys great popularity among children and tourists from every corner of the world who are happy to take pictures standing next to him. Čumil has been decorating the intersection of Laurinská, Panská and Rybia gates since 1997. The statue was made by Viktor Hulík. The statue was not based on any model and no ancient story is associated with it. In fact, it is the embodiment of the heart atmosphere of the historical center of Bratislava.

Firstly, I didn't know about this statue. I just came across and saw it. I had a feeling that I needed to take a picture here. I was looking into details deeply. Translation of the word Čumil as “The watcher.“ The first rumour says that he is a typical communist-era worker who is not bothered about the work he’s presumed to be doing. According to the next rumour, he’s staring under the women’s skirts. This most photographed statue of old town. It also attracts many tourists at the junction of Laurinská and Panská streets.

I planned a tour to Bratislava just to see this statue. It is one of the most iconic things to see in the city. It looks so beautiful having a smiling person at work . It is indeed a great location.

Fantastic but relatively hidden gem just 20 min away from Bratislava. It has amazing views of 2 rivers merging on one side and beautiful hills on the other side. One can totally imagine the strategic location and importance of such a castle. There’s plenty of free parking. You will have to take a short 10-15 min hike to the top for the best views. The tickets are reasonable - 6 euros for adults, 3 euros for kids and seniors. There’s also a family ticket for 12 euros that includes 2 adults and all kids under 14 years. Just about half way to the top, there are some nice interactive demonstrations led by castle staff. There’s small permanent exhibition in the castle. But the view from top is definitely the best highlight. There are a couple of restaurants right in the parking lot that also serve ice cream.

Just beautiful!!! Serene experience. We were on a short visit to Bratislava and we are glad to have explored this place. Taking the early morning bus to this place, the journey itself began beautifully and the place was just beyond beautiful. Nature at its best. The views of the villages, fields, river (where you can see border with Austria), forests, and the castle. It was amazing. The fresh air, clean water, greens everywhere.. filled my heart and soul with peace. Definitely a must visit place if you are planning to go to Bratislava. The premise has washroom facility, drinking water and lots of benches to rest. It's kids friendly too. Overall a great experience being here.

Sometimes you come across places of outstanding beauty, and this is one such place. Well worth the walk up and €6 to get in and walk around the ruins. I wish I had stayed until sunset as I imagine it would have been spectacular. You can feel the history of the area with each step. It must have been a truly imposing place in its heyday. I would 💯 recommend a visit

Amazing castle, with great views. Toilets are available to use inside. The entrance to the castle is a short walk up hill, there are benches along the route should you need them. We sat on one to have our picnic. The carpark is below the castle and there are restaurants there, ice-cream huts and a small souvenir shop. The entrance fee is not too expensive but not the cheapest castle fee we have paid. You can walk around the castle freely but there is also a guided tour. There are also interesting expositions as you walk around. All in all a good day out!

We got here for opening at 10:00 using the number 29 bus which was quick and easy. I recommend getting there for opening as it was getting quite busy as we were leaving. The castle itself was impressive and the scenery was stunning, there was also plenty of information on the history of the site (and area), overall this led to a really enjoyable visit. Highly recommend.

We took the boat down and spent two hours at Devin castle, which was great! The place is very beautiful and there is a lot of text around in both Slovak and English. The well is especially cool, and they keep a bucket nearby that you can fill up and dump down. All of the views are amazing, and the site is super interesting. The only downside was that we went on a weekday and there were a ton of school groups running around, but other than that it wasn't very busy.

8 euros and 75 meters up. The climb is neither very steep nor hard. Great view of the Danube and the Morava. The museum is included in the price; we decided to skip them, but you have to buy tickets to enjoy the view.

Beautiful place, we went on a day trip to Bratislava and found this place. We had time to visit it. It pays to get in. Had a nice walk. It’s children friendly. Great views of the Danube and Morava, honestly I wasn’t expecting that. In the distance is the Bratislava skyline. There are a few other historical sites in there, below the castle. Devin is also cute little village, or rather a borough. Would recommend, also you can eat there, and go down to the rivers. 8-10km from Bratislava center, public transport or by 🚲.

Even though not much of the original castle is left, these ruins are absolutely worth a visit. Easily reachable by car or by public transport from Bratislava, this location offers a small museum, beautiful ruins and stunning views. The 'hike' up the mountain is also not as bad as it seems when standing at the parking lot. Another plus, especially in summer, is the drinking fountain installed on the central square of the castle!

Nice and cool restaurant and Attraction. But pay the Ticket for Day and Night it's Cheaper . 12.90€ and one Entrance cost 9.90€ it's cool when you see the Sunscreen and on the weekend the night is soo cool . The bar is on the left and the right side the restaurant only in the middle and you have reserved for a table . The food is every time in the Year the same ( change only one time in the Year the Menu ) but it's cool location. When you visit Bratislava go there 😉🥂

Taking the elevator up to the observation deck, I was greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of Bratislava and the surrounding areas. The vantage point offered by the tower was unparalleled, allowing me to marvel at the city's landmarks, the meandering Danube River, and the vast landscapes beyond. It was a photographer's dream, providing countless opportunities to capture stunning vistas. The UFO Tower also houses a trendy restaurant and bar, which further enhanced the overall experience. The modern decor, stylish furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows added to the ambiance, creating a vibrant and chic atmosphere. Enjoying a meal or a drink while surrounded by the mesmerizing views was a true highlight. While the observation deck and restaurant were impressive, some visitors might find the entry fee slightly steep. However, considering the unique experience and the opportunity to witness the city from such a height, it is still worth the investment. The staff at the UFO Tower were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant visit. They were knowledgeable about the tower's history and provided helpful information and recommendations for exploring Bratislava further.

It is the thing to not miss out when visiting Bratislava. If you walked all over the city you just must visit the UFO tower to see the city from above. The restaurant is also well suited and comes in handy. Really recommended place for anyone.

Nice Attraction added to the city for tourists, but in a city which is having already high city views through war memorial or the castle. Someone would come to this place only for a unique experience but not only for view. But price is reasonable. I actually expected a lot more than just a simple view for which as well the approach is not so good. Bar is nicely placed and well serviced.

Prepare to have your mind blown! The view from up here is absolutely stunning. Trust me when I say that shelling out 9 euros per person is totally worth it, just to catch a glimpse of the Danube from this elevated vantage point. It's like getting a sneak peek of the grandeur of the river from high above, all while keeping your wallet just a tad lighter. Talk about an investment that pays off in awe and laughter!

A symbol of Bratislava and a must visit when there. U can get a nice view of it by going up the Bratislava castle. There is a restaurant on the rooftop, but it's a bit pricy. Otherwise u can go up and enjoy the view for 10 euros. Haha.

Nice experience to enjoy the above view on the Bratislava city from all directions , There is a lift from base of the tower directly to the top then few stairs to reach the roof , the area there is not that wide so sometimes gets crowded . The entry is with ticket costs around 10 euro , special price for students . There is restaurant and caffe bar up there with panoramic view . On the roof is the best view on the city with landmarks already painted on the wall as a guide . Lovely time to be there before sunset in one hour and after , so can enjoy the view of( day time , sunset , night time ) . Recommended .

Great panaromic view of the landscape from the top. It costs around 12 Euros for the lift. The washrooms are actually a highlight there. We didn’t try the bar as we were running late.

Beautiful view, the panorama is amazing. Easy to get here, booking is not necessary. The adult ticket costs €9.90 The bar is quite expensive and the service was really slow. ~25min for a latte and lemonade. But still worth to visit.

Bratislava is a lovely place on summer and well worth a visit. We arrived by boat which is even better. St Michael's Gate is entirely encased in scaffolding at the moment and is closed to visitors but there's plenty more to see and the short climb up to the castle is well worth the slog for the view alone. Lots of shady cafes for ice cream coffee cake or larger meals.

It is a nice gate , great feeling when you goes through it , you feel the place is a historical place, is the only city gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. Built about the year 1300, its present shape is the result of baroque reconstructions in 1758, when the statue of St. Michael and the Dragon was placed on its top. You might need tickets if you want to go to the top.

Fun exploring the old town. I didn't expect there were a lot of things to do and wished we stayed the whole day here. We just took a quick stop here from our roadtrip; nonetheless, it was a good break from a long drive.

A picturesque spot in the old town area. Nice location for taking beautiful pictures and sigh seeing. The lights make it more beautiful at night too. There are lots of restaurants and souvenir shops around and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here.

The preserved fortifications and decorative details evoked a feeling of stepping back in time to a bygone era. Passing under the archway, I entered the bustling streets of Bratislava's Old Town. The gate served as a gateway to the city's vibrant past and a connection to its present.The cobblestone streets, quaint shops, and charming cafes that lined the area created a delightful atmosphere, perfectly complemented by the gate's historical significance. Climbing the spiral staircase within the gate, I was rewarded with breathtaking views of the city's rooftops and landmarks. The panoramic vistas showcased the blend of old and new, with medieval structures seamlessly integrated with modern architecture. It was a moment of tranquility and reflection, providing a unique perspective on Bratislava's evolving landscape.

One of the city landmarks, the last remaining gate from old town fortifications. Leads to a nice pedestrean street with a lot of nice shops and bars/restaurants. There should be a museum of arms within the tower, but was closed when we were there. Would be really nice to see the view of this pedestrean area from the tower balcony.

This is the northern gate of the ancient fortification walls dating back to 1300, the only one that was still preserved today. The tower is 51 meters high and at the top there's a statue of archangel Michael slaying a dragon. It houses the Museum of Weapons but it was closed for renovation during my visit. On the pavement under the tower there's the so called "zero kilometre" plate, displaying the distance from Bratislava of 29 world capitals.

It is definitely one of the most beautiful monuments you can find in Bratislava! The street you take to reach it is really very beautiful, full of very nice shops and restaurants. I highly recommend going for a nice walk

It is a beautiful tower that you go underneath entering one of the side-main streets of the old town. Public toilet nearby. Nothing that special, but could be used as a marker while touring the small old city. You can't get up, or at least I didn't find anything like that. After/before passing it there is usually someone singing in the tunnel. Good starting point if you're entering from the north side

We went there based on the number or reviews and good rating. As some other people mentioned, service was a bit long and waiter not always present. On the other side the food was amazing and cheap. The main dish really reminded me of my grand-mother cooking and I loved that! Soup was a bit cold but still fine. Don't except a super clean place, this is a pub with cheap/good beers! Worth a visit for sure!

The food is typical Slovak. Very tasty. Portions nice. They offer different sizes of dishes with 3/5/7 pieces. I prefer to order a variety of dishes. Service good but bad knowledge of English. A place where also locals eat. Atmosphere good for a pub. Would recommend and we’ll return.

My husband and I came here 8 years ago and decided to come back last week because we remembered how we enjoyed it so much. We had a creamy garlic soup and cabbage soup with sausage and they were tasty. The garlic soup has lots of garlic, which I love. We also ordered the Slovak Platter for 2 person and they were delicious. We couldn't finish it because the soups were already filling.

We wanted to go to the other one but it had closed just as we arrived. We asked them if they had any recommendations for us and they recommended this one *Slovak pub*. It was quite big with lots of seating areas. Food was great and the plating was gorgeous with their flag on it. It was close to all the main locations in the centre. Easy to get here. Definitely recommend.

I loved dining on my last night in Bratislava here. I loved the place, with an excellent themed atmosphere of the history of Slovak cuisine. The staff is super friendly and we feel very well taken care of. They have a very characteristic menu with reviews of the restaurant and in English. I absolutely recommend this place for a better approach to the culinary culture of Slovakia.

We went for lunch. It was a nice, cozy place. We ordered the fried cheese, potato perogies with meat and the chicken steak with ratatouille. Everything was very good. The service was also good. Would definitely eat here again.

Great popular spot for some traditional food. Had pero his, sausage, Schnitzel, garlic soup and cabbage soup. Prices were really reasonable. Seems that they have a certain farm where they grow a lot of the produce at. Felt a little like a tourist spot, but nothing blown out. Would recommend to anybody. Total bill came to about 35 euro.

Best food I have had in Slovakia! Seek this place out, order anything, be happy. The decor and pub itself is incredible and worth the visit, but the food take you to a whole other level...

Slovak Pub is a must visit. Great ambiance and great food. We had made reservations but the place is huge so they said we can sit wherever we want. We loved everything we ate. We only spoke English so it was difficult to get food recommendations from the server. So make sure you check their menu and order some of the classic Slovakian dishes. Have a look at the pictures of some of the mouthwatering dishes we ordered!

🥟 We tried the platter for two which included dumplings and pierogi, absolutely delicious! Would have loved to eat more of those. The beef was good but not super special. The pork instead was fantastic, really nicely season, well cooked, super soft. 🍺 We tried the local draft beer, very good and affordable. 🤵🏻‍♂️ The waiter was super nice to us, always attentive, and our dishes were served super fast. Also they took a reservation for us (we had to go in person to ask for one) and it was all super simple. We waited no more than 5 min to get our table. 💶 At a price of ca. 32 EUR per person, including appetizer, water, beer, and main dish, it's on the affordable side. Would definitely recommend the place for Slovak cuisine.

Proper pub with a traditional menu. Prices are all good and the food is cracking it is easy to see why this place has such a high review score. We ordered wayyyy too much food as we were too hungry when we arrived. Be cautious as the portions are very good. Try the potato dumplings of the beef goulash you truly wont be disappointed. All in for us with a sharing platter and two other mains (I did say we had ordered too much) a glass of good red wine and a 1lt jug (2 pints) of beer came to about £35

The restaurant is nice from the inside. We liked the furniture. We didn’t wait long to get a table. The food is not expensive and the personal is friendly. If you like cheese and bacon, you are at the right place and you will love it. We loved the garlic soup but the other dish was too much for us. But I would recommend to try it.

We ordered the three-combined Slovak dish, and it was really tasty. The sheep cheese was so so good!!! However, the service was kinda slow. So prepare yourself for a 3-hour lunch or so……

Food was good and they have a lot of options on their menu. It is not overpriced like other places of Slovakian food in the city center. The place is really huge and there are several areas where you can sit. Service was good, although it took a little bit of time to get our food.

I have always mixed feelings about this restaurant. I love their cuisine, the food tastes really homely and good, the interior is like from a real Slovak village and they have a lot of seating, so you can come with a larger group. On the other hand, the staff is horrible, I don't remember it ever being better, they are rude and slow, and they have no problem arguing with you.

The service was incredible and the traditional dishes were definitely worth their price. The only thing I slightly disliked was their beer. It was slightly too bitter for me, but this is merely a personal preference. Aside from that, I had a great first lunch in Bratislava here

One of my favorite places to eat and take my visitors from USA. The menu is extensive and food is excellent with good prices. Steak tartar is to dye for and one of the best in Bratislava. This place offers a large indoor and outdoor seating in a garden and they do take credit cards but the gratuity need to be paid in cash and not on the card. Most of the staff is friendly and speak English. Little fun fact: On one occasion I was dining in the garden and HGTV was taping House Hunters International episode just few tables over from us. So it was super cool to watch on tv later when it aired.

Once again, I find myself trying a new cuisine. This time Slovakian. Excellent dishes, generous portions, and quick service. I want to point out that I was charged €1.60 for bread! I didn’t order it, assuming it comes free as all other restaurants. The waitress didn’t inform me of this too. I was going to give the restaurant 5 stars, but because of this incident I decided not to. Nevertheless, highly recommend!

I ate here twice and had a great meal both times. The local cuisine I tried included pork schnitzel and chicken with noodles. Both meals were excellent and I really enjoyed them. The cost including beer was very reasonable. I would recommend coming back here again.

If you are looking for a lovely place to take a beer or two and enjoy typical Slovakia food, then don't miss this place. Friendly staff, amazing food and own local beer.

This specific location is further outside of the city center than their other spot, but it was worth the short trek. Authentic Slovak food which is quite rich and flavorful and some delicious beer. The leziak 10 and 12 and the Bubak 12 were all very good, easy drinking, and paired well with the food. English menu was helpful and the waitress was very friendly and gave some good suggestions. Interior is rustic yet modern. Great place to stop for lunch or dinner and some local beers! Also a great beer garden out back for warmer weather.

One of the better stews with dumplings, and it also looks great! The interior is very well arranged and the staff is hospitable. If you are coming for lunch, I recommend Kofola for refreshment!

An absolute MUST try! We loved the food and although it was packed (full) and you could tell that the servers were a little stressed, they remained friendly and helpful. Their lemonades are tasty (even for the rather high price) and all in all a great experience for our tastebuds :) would go back there anytime!

Nice place to try some traditional Slovak dishes. It is lovely to sit outside in the summer. The food is delicious, the portions are quite satisfactory. The prices are reasonable, but the dumplings they serve with goulash or the sauces are extra and they have additional costs. I highly recommend you to try the goulash though 😋

A unique place with delicious Slovakian food, nicely served. Located in an old theater. If you order one of their national foods, they indicate it by sticking a Slovakian flag into it. The service was quick. A couple drawbacks: they charged us a 20% service fee and the cabbage soup came without bread

My friend highly recommended that we should visit this lovely restaurant when coming to Bratislava, and we did on our first day here. We were very happy with the dishes we had as well as the elegant decor and soothing vibes. It was truly a feast for both the eyes and the mouth.

A must when visiting Bratislava. The restaurant is huge and so beautiful inside. The history is really interesting. The food was excellent. We sampled their soups and other traditional dishes. We visited between the lunch and dinner crowd so it wasnt too crowded. The prices aren’t bad given the popularity of the place. Would definitely come back again.

We wanted to try authentic local good and arrived here. Best choice ever. The food was super delicious so we even came again for lunch the next day. Among all the ordered dish i loved the potatoes meat balls the most, which was not too salty and came in a combination of fried onions and sauerkraut.

It is recognized as one of the biggest restaurants in Europe and it's easy to understand why. The whole atmosphere of the place is unique and takes you back centuries. The food is amazing, with many local dishes and great quality beer. The staff was very friendly and always nice. A place to go to taste the culture of this city.

Great place to try Slovakian dishes and other cultural food from the surrounding areas. Fun ambiance and interesting history to the site. Gluten free options marked (but not celiac safe). Definitely recommend stopping by here on your trip to Bratislava!

We came for lunch and dinner because menu has variety of local dishes. Big portions for a reasonable price. Must try local beer. Staff works fast and efficiently considering how crowded it is. Compliments!

This place is amazing! Yes the food is great and if you want to try traditional Slovak food it’s a great place to try but also this building is not only huge but fascinating, I can’t even really describe everything so I took lots of photos and yes all of these were taken at the same restaurant, do yourself a favour and come here

It's a nice restaurant in an old building, they tried hard to imitate an old ship. Soup in bread is one of the traditional food here. It was a good soup but it was nothing for the bread. I only finish 20% of the bread with the amount of soup they brought which was disappointing. We ordered the ribs and pork knuckle. They were very good and the portions were huge. We couldn't finish half of it. It's better to order the pork knuckle for 2. In general, it was a good experience.

Nice experience. Good food, nothing amazing, just correct. Definitely traditional and a good choice if you are looking for something traditional while in the area. Also they have a very very quick service. Rather noisy and loud as it gets filled with people. Also a tourist destination. We tried the sausage and wings. Both were good.

We were very excited to experience this restaurant, cause it has great reviews, but we did not enjoy. Very slow service, we felt quite abandoned and had to request multiple times to ask for food. In the end food was a bit salty. The beer was good.

It seems to be very famous for their beers from inhouse brewery and they have a specific menu for something to eat with beer. Their garlic soup was good and the potato dumplings I tried was good and creamy but was salty for me. I tried their strudel of the day and it was just average. It's a good place to try

A very old authentic restaurant serving brew beers.. they are really tasty.. food is big disappointment. They are just average.. so much Space for big groups. Waitress are friendly.. you can also check their brewery downstairs. The vibe is also good .. a good place to grab beers and have long conversations.

Spectacular restaurant with a huge main hall. Many local dishes and also tasting platters to try the different authentic flavours. Price for value is great (especially for the beer). The beer is brewed inhouse and both the light and dark Lager tasted great (as Germans we are picky with beer :) ). You can pay by cash or card. Great spot for lunch or dinner as the meal sizes are diverse (soups, cold platters, snacks etc.)

Very impressive restaurant, especially for value for money and swift service. I had the pork with sauerkraut and dumplings washed down with a recommended beer. All in all around 15 euros.

Everything here is great. The service, the space, the location, the food. But most of all - the beer. They make their brew from Bernard malt and it shows. Really good beer! I got hungry just looking at my photos.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful experience! We made a last minute online reservation which didn't have time to process, but the staff were very hospitable, welcoming and seating us despite not having received the reservation yet. The cuisine is absolutely delicious. We had the goulash and duck, both prepared in sizeable portions with lovely presentation and paired with a fabulous local red wine. The food is hearty and tasty and the service amazingly attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is amazingly cozy and intimate... Part of the dining area appears to be cut into the side of the mountain with stone walls in much of the dining area. The lighting is perfect - not too bright or dark. We finished our meal with dessert of both the almond chocolate cake (gluten-free) and the traditional dumplings with poppy seeds and coffee - not too sweet or too rich and yet full of flavor. A brilliant end to such a lovely dinner. We couldn't recommend this establishment more highly if you're looking for good quality local cuisine with very friendly and professional service. It is definitely worth the steps up and we look forward to dining here again on our next trip!

Definitely a place you would come back to more than once. The place itself is very unique and the service is very polite and professional. We choose to split a starter, the beetroot strudel, which was delicious, and then ordered the duck and the rabbit. Needless to say they were both excellent. The pricing is fair considering the quality of the dishes and their size and the quality of the service too. If there will be a chance to ever come by Bratislava again we would make a stop here for sure.

A special place, surprisingly big and interesting. Not to many dishes, but fair prices and good taste. I kindly recommend it!

All the stars for this gem. Family owned and run, and they serve amazing local food. Everyone can help you out in English (which was much needed). Had the tasting menu on NYE and it was great. Was a bit hesitant about the rabbit and venison, but both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The cheese dumpling dish was also really yummy. Good local wines and liquors. A must stop for anyone in Bratislava.

A very nice, cozy place! This small tavern is awesome! The food is great! The service is great! The atmosphere is fantastic! It could get a little loud if you have a group of cheerful people in this other room, but all in all is a pretty select place to take dinner.

We spend a few days in the lovely city of Bratislava - no restaurant equals the flavors and quality we had at the Modrá Hviezda restaurant. Friendly staff - a nice restaurant - and incredible food paired perfectly with the local wine. Must try the dumpling + Deer Goulash! A dream

Great food, amazing medovina (honey liqueur) and nice place although a little small. Traditional Slovak food and waiters are nice. Area is beautiful under the Bratislava castle.

Nice restaurant one road down from the castle. It's a really nice spot if you are feeling hungry after a visit. Here you will find typical Slovakia food, we had the veal goulash and the magalitza pork for main courses, for dessert we had the dumplings with poppy seeds. All tasted very good. The restaurant itself looks really quaint and cozy.

Very good restaurant. Everything we tried was seasoned to perfection and the service was excellent. I was quite surprised to see their “sharing” policy where you’re being charged €1 for an additional sharing plate and cutlery if you’d like to share a dish - never seen this before. For the size of the portions, it could be cheaper but it was really tasty so no complaints!

Had the rabbit leg and duck with pancakes. Food was delicious and the atmosphere is really warm and fun. Service excellent. Best dish was the desert with the poppy seeds and dough. Would come back again.

A great pub. Their own brewed beer was damn good. Wasabi prawns and pork schnitzel were both very good. Friendly staff and prices reasonable compared to the city centre. You must book though. This is not a walk up pub, every table booked.

We arrived to our hotel late and we’re happy to see Fabrika was still open for dinner. The arugula and tomato salad was fresh and the chicken poke bowl was amazing. There were so many flavors combined in this great dish. We tried an apa beer and it was obviously good. The vibe is industrial with decor to match.

The burger was fantastic! Wings were as good as they look! The atmosphere was amazing at this restaurant! Having also a brewing station, the beer also tastes amazing!

I recommend visiting "PUB" on foot. Finding a parking place in the neighborhood is a problem. The offer includes original beer from our own craft brewery and I guarantee you that you will not leave after one beer. It is a completely different league than the usual "eurobeer". Great service, great atmosphere, great beer (I had a light lager) ... I don't even know why it's called a pub, it's a pretty fancy place. I recommend the classic burger even though the menu is varied. The very cozy summer terrace is a bit noisy, but it is a pub after all.

Dinner with friends and colleagues. We came here at friend's recommendation. Oh dear, I am stuffed with deer (meat loaf). It was very tasty. Definitely worth the walk. And the toilets are awesome. Most likely situated according to the saying: Men left, because women are always right. 👍

Crafted beer is delicious and even tho it's expensive, nothing beats mini crafts. As for food, Satay Kai was also delicious, but colleagues had fries and complained that homemade fries would be more suitable for the burger. However the service was very helpful and kind and the waiter even joked with us. He spoke fluent both Slovak and English. Big beer tanks and nice environment creates a nice environment for the dinner.

My husband and I went for beers and lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was perfect weather to sit on their outdoor terrace. We got the ribs and Bryndzové halušky both were delicious. The beers were also good, I really liked the weizen.
