The temple is a tourist attraction with many little souvenir shops around it. Also some food, ice cream and cold drinks. Check out the spiritual statues along the estuary. Good place to watch planes land and taking off as the fly quite low in the area!

The place is nice, if you are on a ride and you can do a short stop then it is fine. But I would not recommend to drive especially for the Big Buddha to this place. You have a nice view from the top of the Buddha and you can see Thai people praying at the statue. You can see that this is a very touristic area, because directly at the parking space there are a lot of shops and some restaurants. I would not recommend to buy or eat there, because the prices are higher.

Breath taking view for sure. I was there after the COVID pandemic, was pretty calm very few people. So it was very easy to go in. Not much thing to do here. But the Buddha statue was great plus the view of the ocean.

A bit far from the center but totally worth it! A very well kept temple with an impressive Buddha and spectacular view. Very touristic friendly, easy to reach and very photogenic.

It's definitely a happening place worth a visit or two, especially the night market every Friday. Plenty of shopping, eating and drinking options. The negative side is that everything shuts at 11pm. We had a tough time getting dinner and ultimately it was an Indian restaurant called Kohinoor that saved the day for us........

Awesome laid back walking street with many nice restaurants lining the ocean. The beach area and sand isn't necessarily centerfold magazine material, but the chill atmosphere and quality food is the reason to make this a destination you take time to stop and take in! Plenty of shopping as well - Enjoy!

A great little walking street with many boutique shops and fine restaurants! Better to come at night when everything is open and the night market opens up right when you finish the walking street. If you want a bit slower traffic come around 2pm and chillout at anyone's of the nice beach side restaurants or coffee places.

A good beach, I like it, but my husband does not, because it is shallow. To get to the depth, you have to go a long way. But those with children are very good. There are always free sun loungers of resorts or cafes. Where can I sit and order drinks from them. Or you can sit on your own towels, as you like. The sand is fine and soft. The water is clear, you can see the fish

Nice beach. Lots of places to eat and drink. Long and sandy with busier and quieter areas. Sea is perfect for swimming and stays shallow a long way out. Not rough at all and very warm.

Chaweng Beach is too close to central Sumai. There are lot of resorts and hotel here, so that's why lot of hustle and bustle here in this Beach. This Beach is perfect for walk, swimming and to have some Vitamin D from the Sun. You can enjoy scenes from the mountain and Beach at one place.

What a beautiful place to visit! Let your imagination go wild and enjoy the site you see. Brilliant photo oportunitis to work on your photography skills. Easy to find just look in your GOOGLE maps. It will get you there no worries. Spend some time feed the fish and enjoy this place.

Pretty large Temple, nicely built, surrounded by water. Kids can buy a good amount of food to feed the fish in the pond. Chickens are there too :) the temple itself is pretty large. Would recommend it totally if you want to see a Buddhist temple.

A great stop in if you are touring the local temples. Unbelievable architecture with such delicate design and very well kept. Each temple has its own very special feel. You would need to have 30-45 minutes spare to take in all this site has to offer. Dress code does apply, no short skirts or shorts and no showing of the shoulders. No entry fee and and wait to get in, you can just stroll around at your own leisure. Thousands of fish in the ponds that you can feed to stir up a huge feeding frenzy! Totally worth a visit to add to your list.

So many sights to see here, a pleasure deep diving into the history and sheer beauty of the place and temples. We visited about 09.00 not busy, or hot so comfortable time of day to visit, only a few people around, a site shop for a cheeky cold drink ✌🏻

Very picturesque and calm - beautiful on a nice day. Many things to see including the cuddliest cat, fish and many chickens/roosters/baby chicks. The temples/statues are on the water which is a nice touch.

Amazing attraction on the northwestern tip of Samui with a wide variety of Buddhist monuments nestled within a scenic lake. Free entry however donations are highly appreciated. While the temples itself seems to be kept in good conditions, the area in general is very dirty from the countless stray dogs and birds in the area giving the impression that the place is not that well kept. The water-based monuments are facing west and are therefore the best lit in the afternoon or just before sunset.

Close enough to the airport to see flights coming in and out, but far away enough from absolutely everything to bring real peace and tranquility (I went there during ‘the situation’, I should add, so no tourists) The lower floor is currently being repainted (but is still open) and the results are bound to be breath-taking!

Beautiful views. Tranquil. Been here twice and love visiting the place. Can drive up the hill and then just a few dozen steps to the top. Nice spot to watch planes take off and land on Samui airport.

Amazing experience! Temple is nice and high in hills so you can see it from the whole Samui west side. But look from there is amazing 360 degrees view on the whole island and you are standing right above the airport.

Monthly place of worship for me. It's a long walk up so be prepared if you are not driving. Dress code must be observed the same as every temple in Thailand. For tourists, just look out for signage to guide you around and if you are unsure of the step to pray ,look for the old lady who is usually near the stairs where you can head up to the highest point of the temple. I'm not sure if they still charge a fee so just check around. Anyway, that's sort of like a donation towards the upkeep of the place . Parking is available for both bikes and cars along the slip road around the temple.

Went to prego on Christmas day for dinner and the service was impeccable. It’s absolutely delicious. The drinks were wonderful. The atmosphere was really nice and pretty, and it was nicely decorated. I felt the Christmas spirit. There was also live music going on in the restaurant did not disappoint. I absolutely highly recommend this place.

honestly really loving this restaurant — we were overheating so needed a place with AC. And my stomach was acting up so we needed a safer option than Thai food We ordered the spaghetti o’lio, fillet tenderloin and the sea bass — + mashed potato on the side it was really excellent, everything from start to finish even the bread basket (ask for balsamic vinegar) — service was lovely, right from door to table. atmosphere and music is also lovely, all in all great vibes and great food. photos are midway through eating, whoops !

Don’t trust the Tripadvisor review. We came to try the food for the first time. My Penne al salmone which is supposed to have salmon came with a piece of accidentally put salmon instead a salmon with a purpose. It was a thin slice salmon with the whole spaghetti taste very terribly. This restaurant is over rated. Food terrible.

We came to Prego restaurant for lunch. Overall the food was good and tasty, yet it was very pricey (on top they add 7% VAT and 10% service) and we didn’t feel that it was enough value for the price we ended up paying. We took the penne with salmon and it came with a ridiculous amount of salmon, which was very disappointing.

Honestly best Italian restaurant ever even after Italy or Europe experience. We had special from menu and children menu. All was great very tasty, head chef came to us to ask if food and everything is ok. Love truffle mashed potato a lot and veal. All was amazing, really enjoyed there and service and friendly staff.

Great menu and lovely decor inside restaurant. Food was fresh and plated to perfection. The tiramisu was very good. The highlight of course was being able to sit outside the bar area and smoke a cigar after an excellent meal.

Finally got a chance to try this Italian restaurant. Nice decor and hygienic. Bread sticks were offered free. Food ordered arrived at the table without undue waiting time. The pizza served was very good. We liked them. The crust was light and crisp. Generous cheese on the top. The pesto pasta was al dente but a bit cold while served. Anyway, it's a good dining experience. Will definitely go back to try out some other pizzas and pasta on the menu.

This is truly Italian restaurant. The owner is Italian and there were a lot of Italians in the restaurant during our dinner there. We had bruschetta and pizzas. Both excellent. After being in Thailand for 14 days Duomo fixed our urge for pizza 😂 do recommend to do a reservation if you want to visit.

We came in for dinner as we were craving Italian food and saw on Google that it was a proper Italian restaurant so decided to come, as soon as we came in we were very welcomed by the Italian sir who seated us straight away. We been delivered the menus and it actually took a while for us to order as the restaurant was almost full and all the employers were very busy, the waitress came and took our order and it was not very friendly to be honest might be that they were too busy but was not very kind… We’ve ordered the bruschetta to start with and it was delicious you could tell the bread it was homemade the tomato it was good quality and the olive oil and balsamic vinegar it was great quality too but so sad to say that the portion served it is quite a shame as we were two and been given three slices of bread only and not four like it should. We have ordered the lasagna for main and it was one of the best lasagna I have ever had it was homemade the meat sauce it was delicious and cooked to perfection as well as the bechamel and the cheese had the right amount and everything was delicious I was so satisfied that i could eat another one however the prices are really high are above average, there’s quality on the food and the red wine it was also quality. The service it wasn’t to our taste however they were full and running around as well the restaurant is a bit small and the noise of big groups talking it was too much, personally the food it was excellent only failed that portion of the bread and the bruschetta that came three pieces only and the service unfortunately as well as the noise, but for food it was brilliant. Best Lasagna in Koh Samui.

We were staying somewhere nearby and chanced upon this eatery on google and decided to go for it. No regrets! The owner, Vivian, was very friendly and gave really good recommendations. They are generous with their serving portions and the food was definitely great. We had to go back a second time to try all other foods on the menu. My favourite was the green curry chicken pie and the fried rice with fish! Hope to have a chance to dine in again in future!

WOW! Just wow! If you’re in Koh Samui and looking for some great food then get this on your list. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the papaya salad and soft crab rolls, chicken spring rolls, the beef cheek and the sea bass. It was all superb! I used google messaging to book and it couldn’t have been easier. Vivian and the team were so lovely and looked after us so well. Get yourself there, you will not regret it!

Was so happy to have been recommending this place. Was seated then the owner came out to great us, we asked him to recommend our meals which he did and they were fantastically plated and the flavors where Devine. We had to go back again and where we had different meals and again the best I have had in my travels in Thailand to date.

My wife and I took a last-minute trip to Koh Samui, and going to eat dinner here was by far the best decision we made on the whole trip. Every dish we ordered surprised us – in a good way! The shrimp and pomelo appetizer was my wife's favorite while I loved the roti stuffed with green curry puffs. The plating was beautiful, the flavors perfectly balanced. Even things that are an afterthought at many restaurants were great here (we ordered extra kimchi with our Korean fried chicken). Also don't skip dessert, the mango sticky rice brûlée was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The decor is quirky, and there isn't any air conditioning. Don't let that stop you. If you come to Koh Samui you need to eat here, period.

Really, really excellent dinner. Super friendly staff, accommodated us with 2 messy babies and provided custom orders for them. The food itself was top notch - creative, beautifully served, super tasty, and not at all expensive. The chicken with green curry and the red curry duck dumplings were amazing starters, the lamb Massaman was just as delicious, and the desserts were wonderful as well.

Based on the name and decor, this restaurant is not at all what I expected. It offers the food (taste and presentation) of a high-class restaurant and the service and price of a local family owned Cafe. My only regret is that I found it on my last day in Samui. My favourite dish was the roti curry entree.

Amazing food! Our lunch has been the most delicious experience. An absolute MUST for any meat lover are the slow cooked Krapao beef cheeks😍 There are plenty of options for vegetarians or vegans as well. Everything was FANTASTIC and hands down the best food we have eaten since arriving in Thailand😍 The owners of the cafe are very sweet and you can feel how passionate they are about their business. Incredible and aesthetically unique restaurant, with a super friendly owner who you can easily chat up with. The food is a fusion style and tastes very good and balanced; clearly there has been some culinary thought that has been put into the cuisine. I had the pomelo prawn brushetta like starter and the tilapia fried rice, which had a whole fish that came with it. Highly recommended.

Very nice and stylishly decorated restaurant. The attention to detail is also reflected in the arrangement of the dishes. We received a very warm welcome and were made to feel very comfortable. We were shown pictures of the food to illustrate the choice between the many different dishes. The food was unbeatable delicious. We would definitely come back!

A fine dining disguised as a cafe! The food here blew me away, and it was clear it was created by someone who loves food. Tuna tartar and somtum roll with soft shell crab were my favorite. Chicken green curry puff was so flaky and scrumptious and truly deserved to be the signature dish. Will definitely come back for more ❤️

Last week of our 4 week food safari of Koh Samui. Cafe 69 is epic, easily the best food we have had on Samui, and rivalling the best we have had in all Thailand. We did not expect this, but we're genuinely happily surprised. Definitely Michelin Star worthy I believe. This is well thought-through, clever and sophisticated food. We had the tom yum cones - 10/10. We also had the green curry chicken pies - 10/10 We also had the green papaya salad with soft shell crab - 10/10. Chef Vivian manages to bring together perfect Thai flavours with Japanese or Singaporean style presentation. If you really like great food, get here. If you don't think I know my Thai food check my other posts. And, . . . we just had to come back to this very special place. This time we had beef cheeks krab pow (heat level 4/5), Khao Soi with river prawns, and the prawns on toast with mango mayo. All were cooked by Vivian himself. Please believe me, the krab pow and Khao Soi were off the planet. Easy 12/10. Rich, multiple layers, perfect balance and as you can see, very generous serves. Truly Thai but so sophisticated. The beef cheeks had cooked down so that they fell apart, but not gooey like they sometimes can be. No idea how Vivian cooks it, but it is stunning. We added some fresh mango on the side to provide extra balance as the heat builds up. The Khao Soi is so rich and refined, amazing how much flavour was packed into it. We chase authentic and special food all over the planet, and this food today was in the top 5 of any meal we've ever had. Stunning. And we finished with the sticky rice creme brulee. I mean, why wouldn't you? Aannnd, back again for our last night in Koh Samui. Tonight we had the tom yum cones (delicious, again), and lamb shank massaman. It was huge, rich, decadent. Glorious. Two of us could not quite finish it. Chef Vivian is a genius. If this were Bangkok or Singapore you would wait weeks for a booking, and there would be dozens of people outside waiting to pounce on any "no-show". We will definitely be back to Samui next year, and Cafe 69 is on top of our places to return to.

One of the best restaurants on Samui! Super friendly owner and staff, high quality food and very fair pricing. We went there nearly every day during our Samui trip and can‘t wait to come back soon! The owner‘s dog Misa also is super friendly and makes Red Moon our new #1 in Samui :-)

King dish of Fisherman's Village. A must eat when you visit. We really enjoy the meal. It was an wonderful experience. Friendly & humorous owner. Lovley staff. It couldn't be any better. All the food and desserts are great. Especially mushroom truffle pasta and ravioli is so good. It has a very very rich flavor to it. You'll love it on your first mouthful. Tartar tuna is delicious too. Thank you for the sweet present. I highly recommended this restaurant♡

Excellent food, this level of high level food is very surprising and an unexpected pleasant find. I think this is probably the best (western) restaurant in the fisherman area. (maybe even in Samui). Good prices for what we ordered. - Excellent duck - Excellent steaks ! - Excellent kids food like "שניצל" schnitzel. Recommended.

Had dinner here last night , excellent value 390 bht for entrée & main. Good selection to choose from. Serving Thai & French cuisine, very yummy desert and a Beautiful bottle of French Rose for only 1000 bht. Spike our waiter was very friendly and provided excellent attentive service. Just 30 metres past the old pier at Fisherman’s Village, therefore nice and quiet. Worth a visit for a great meal, definitely going back again before we leave.

We returned to this restaurant after 3 years. Had the steam fish, tom yum soup and stir fried morning glory. Ingredients were very fresh. Cooking was authentic thai- style. Did not disapoint and highly recommended.

This was my 1st night in Thailand, so I couldn't wait to get tucked into some authentic Thai food and Khaw Glong Thai and its amazing staff delivered my expectations of eating in Thailand. We are a family of 6 with differing tastes and spice tolerances, they have a clear guide on what is suitable with myself having "3 - Thai spice level", I was questioned on my over enthusiasm but fortunately is was a perfect match for me. The food was incredible, I think my dish was the best, followed closely by the Basil and minced pork. Would recommend highly

Amazing authentic Thai food. We had loads of different dishes to share but the highlights were the tamarind ribs and the duck stir fry. Fresh food and great service could not recommend enough. Off the Main Street in a very quiet and charming area not touristy at all. The owner came to our table at the end of the meal and told us a bit about her restaurant she was so lovely

This is literally across the road from Central Samui which is in the popular Chewang Beach area. Food is really authentic and nice. We ordered the pandan leaf chicken, pad kee maw with pork, massaman curry chicken and omelette with pork. All of the dishes were delicious witu our favorite being the pad kee maw and massaman curry. Will definitely come back for my next visit to Samui.

We came here with a friend, we spent an amazing evening. Was the last night of my friend in Thailand actually and she couldn’t wish better for her last evening. Food was delicious, we had wine, panang curry chicken & massaman chicken. Lot of meat, tasty sauce full of flavours…. Was ask no spicy but they said will be a little bit and that was perfect ! Service was amazing, even the cooker come to our table ask if it’s okay, and if we have question about the plate ! So so nice 🥺. Staff was really friendly, smiling, and they care about you. Environnement is beautiful, well decorated. At the end of our meal they offer us coconut ice cream (so far the best we had here!) was really nice attention. They also explain what was a confit fruit and what they do with it here in Thailand in cooking .. super interesting ! They take care with no charge. Was so sad to discover that place our last evening…. But so far the best place on food/service/ for a very good price on this island !
