The best thing about this museum is the design of the museum itself. Very impressive building. There were a few really nice pieces and the majority of the pieces were too modern for my taste. But when in Bilbao... Just pay a visit. You can go through the museum in 1,5 hours if time is an issue

Universal accessibility could have been better in terms of signs to the restaurant and back, but if you ask for help, you’ll get it. Definitely a place to visit, you don’t have to be a self proclaimed art lover to appreciate the Guggenheim. They’ve got modern, contemporary stuff, but also great engineering and figurative art. Even walking around outside is wonderful, and I’d say it’s enough to tick the bucket list if you’re a jet setter, but do pop in if you’ve got the time. No regrets. The gift store has a few cool gadgets, too! We ate at the bistro. Great service, weird seating, a bit pricey, but what do you expect… Very tasty food, and all the more energy to continue enjoying the museum and whatever comes next! Recommended as well.

Such a beautiful architecture and modern art! It was the first attraction I’ve booked before going to Bilbao. I was impressed by the design and grandeur of the art around the museum and of the building itself. There is a bit of wait for the light room but it’s definitely a must! Couldn’t recommend this more. 5/5

The building was already amazing on the outside, but love to walk through it too. The exhibitions were quite diverse, so I like some of it. However, other things did not fully suit my taste. Currently the second floor is not open, so a 1 hour visit was all we needed. Luckily the tickets were relatively cheap. Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful collection of art. Just as great as seeing the art inside is taking in the architecture of the building itself and the grounds surrounding. There is a bridge right next to it that has been painted by artists it's a great place to get some photos of the city and river.

Came here on a Monday Morning. It was relatively empty. No wait, got tickets and in we went. The top floor was closed for construction, so had to knock them down a star. Shouldn’t charge full price if 1/3rd of the museum isn’t open. Some cool exhibits. Ours was all cars themed, so worked for us. I would not recommend traveling a long distance for this museum. But it was fun regardless of the long trek.

An amazing museum, the building itself is a piece of art. The exhibits are displayed to great effect with plenty of room for viewing each picture. The Time structures were my personal favourites, it's rare to find something so massive inside, weird feelings of distorted volume, space and time when walking through them.

It has the name but does not live up to its fame. The architecture from the outside is beautiful. On the inside it is quite plain and cold. The collection is disappointing for a museum like this and you have to get in a virtual waiting line to visit the infinity mirrored room which takes forever. I suggest go scan the QR first (on the 3rd, visit the 2nd and 3rf floor and probably then it will be your turn for 1 minute in the room. The staff is without exception unfriendly, uncaring or uninterested at best. The cloak room is a mess, they better install lockers. Of you buy your ticket online you will save 2 euros. You can most usually do this for a time slot only 15 minutes after buying.

Amazing experience. Visit and walking around the gigantic museum, experiencing all the shades and reflections depending on the weather of Bilbao is an experience. As well as visiting the different exhibitions continuously researched by the Museum. The ground floor with the steel curves from Serra is a must see, no space could better fit the dynamics of the art.

Unique shaping and design defines this museum at the heart of Bilbao. It is tidy, clean, spacious and with good indications. It changes the content to be displayed. On-line booking is cheaper than on-site. <18 years old do not pay. Prices are ok. Unlike other museums in the basque country, child-entertainment not available: you need to entertain yourself your kids while walking the museum 😅

Just wow! The Guggenheim one is the most stunning museums I have ever visited, and probably one of the best in the world. The outside of the museum is incredibly beautiful, and you can easily spend the entire day just admiring the intricacies, details, and thought put into the architecture. The artwork featured inside the museum is relevant, thought provoking, and equally beautiful. I highly recommend this place! We didn’t have any trouble buying tickets at the door, however we went on a weekday so that was probably why. If you are going during high season (in the summer) you should probably consider purchasing your ticket in advance. :)

Not a fan of modern art but loved the museum. Incredible architecture, make sure you walk around the outside. Very interesting exhibits, some immersive. Wide variety of art. Recommend taking a guided tour to make the visit more efficient and meaningful. Buy tickets in advance. Eat in old town afterward.

Amazing architecture. I am not a modern art lover but that piece with caps amazed me. The story behind it what artist thought. Just amazing. You can get your tickets online and there won't be a que for you :). Normally there is.

Very popular place to eat “ pintxos” and drink beer, and local beer. Just close to the river. In a sunny day is even better. So, you can “ fish” or can compete for a place in the sun to sit. Inside is very crowded with people.

Nice old market hall with plenty of different pinxos to try. It’s like a food market and really worth visiting. Just giving 4 stars because the facilities were dirty (toilets and elevator). Other than that nice staff and good vibe. If you are with kids I recommend going before 6pm so that it’s not too overwhelming

Visited the market a couple of times. The first was a hot Sunday afternoon and seemed busy with locals. We didn’t stay as there was nowhere to sit and the heat was unbearable.. The second time was later afternoon mid-week when there were plenty of seats and the heat was more bearable (not sure there was air con). We enjoyed a few drinks and the dessert of Bilbao. Would definitely recommend to others as there was plenty of choice and the prices were all reasonable.

Disappointed, lovely walking inn and looks impressive but, most of the stalls were all closed they were being cleaned, closed or repaired. Those what were there normally what you would see at any given market. We thought we would try the pintxos (tapas) but they were mainly dry and cold or tasteless. Tables and chairs could certainly do with upgrading and service could be friendlier. But, it is worth going even if to have a look.

1130 Sunday still quiet. Nice shops for drinks and great selections of tapas from €2.20- 2 50. Good coffee but beers, sangria or Aperol ready! Lovely center seating area inside or you can sit outside with river views.

I loved walking around the food market, and admiring the local produce. Especially the fresh fish is very interesting, but there's a wide choice of meats, vegetables, fruits and other regional products as well. The food market also houses a couple of pinchos restaurants, and although we found bites in the city that we preferred over these, some of them were pretty good.

The ground floor is full of pintxo shops, authentic and very tasty. Inside was very crowded but they have spaces outside to eat and look at the city and the river. The whole experience was unique, it didn’t feel like a touristic event but more like being a part of the city.

Fantastic food market in the heart of Bilbao, perfect for dining in. Just find a table and then visit the range of stalls surrounding the seating area and select whichever pinxtos look good to you! We visited in late August when some of the ingredient stalls were closed for the holidays which was a shame but the food we did get to try was great.

Wonderful fresh food market. Delicious pastries, fresh fruit & vegetables & butchers markets on the top level. Eateries on the lower level. Amazing stained glass roof. So clean & easy to get around.

Ok museum. As of March 2022 it is free due to renovations. Best are the Basque paintings depicting life in a forgotten age

Loved the museum! It had rooms with 2 artists each in one building, where one artist was more classic and the other more modern. The main collections were also very interesting. I would expect more variety in the gift shop.

The museum was being refurbished when we visited so there wasn't too much to see. However entry is free during the works. We visited in August and there were very few visitors in with us. The spaces are nice and the work is varied though not spectacular. I'm not sure it's worth a visit while so few rooms are open even though it's free.

The Museum of Fine Arts is a must visit if you like classic art. The building is a classic art deco building. The numerous galleries house some of the most important works of the great Spanish artists including Goya. Take your time to enjoy the art at display. Should take about 2-3 hours. Enjoy. Do remember to take you headphones.

Interesting collection of Basque artists and some pieces of international artists (Gaugin, Van Dyck). Free of charge. The descriptions are in Spanish and Basque only, you can read them in English on the museum’s website (available under a handy QR code in the exhibition).

Nice museum. Unfortunately, it is in the middle of a large renovation so only part of the exhibition is available. However, because of this there was no entrance fee, which was nice.

Bilbao's "other art museum" is definitely worth a visit. Great architecture. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of old masters (including Zurbaran, van Dyck, Goya, and others) and modern art (including Victor Vasarely).

Great art space with very interesting selection of Spanish and Basque art. Worth visiting not only in rainy days. The maginificent Gernika by Ibarrola is a great tribute to the Gernika painted by Picasso in 1937.

A pearl When you are in Bilbao to visit that other museum, and are disappointed by the G , this will pick you up. A masterful collection of spanish art. We were blown away, by the collection and some of the really rare and old paintings on display. A must see .

Worth popping in. Free and currently under refurbishment so about 8 rooms, 4 of which are filled with an inflated black and white plastic installation. Paintings from different eras and an interesting collection of Bilbao photographs.

Beautiful bridge. Definitely not a must see but if you are at Guggenheim museum it’s a short walk there and it’s worth having a look at it.

The structure looks good but slightly dirty with homeless ppl around the bridge. They also covered up the glass portion of the bridge with carpet, which was the major attraction of the bridge. Pity

Use this bridge for easy access to the funicular. Walked on this bridge on a weekend and there were many locals walking up and down to cross the river.

Even if it's a well know bridge in Bilbao I don't really like Calatrava's work. I'm thankful that the townhall put mattresses in the bridge cause that genius of an architect designed a glass floor in a city were it's raining 90% of the year.

An area of architectural interest. You have a. Very good view of the Calatrava bridge and the Isozaki towers which are very well integrated to the urban landscape of Bilbao.

The 'clean' city Bilbao has many beautiful bridges allover, but I think this one is the most beautiful one. Near Matiko, 9 minutes walk from Casco Viejo.

A modern bridge! Very touristy, but I did understand it. It's more beautiful in the night! There are several attractions better than this one. Turist

It’s fun to visit it at night. You can get on the deck before it closes at 9pm. The design store is fun to browse. If you are interested they have a book about the unique pillars in the building, and a poster with all 43 pillars. Unfortunately all art exhibitions were closed on Monday.

Fun culture center with these very artistic columns and various exhibitions. You can also swim in the 3rd floor pool. Or enjoy the light show on the roof top

This place is cool and airey. Nice bar for relaxed drinks and food for lunch. Gym and amazing glass bottomed swimming pool that can be seen above your head walking through. Good for children .

Amazing building which is actually a shopping mall. We went to the lower level only which was a local art gallery. Beautiful art works and friendly stall. Worth a visit.

Definitely worth a (quick) visit! Impressive architecture and surprisingly quite inside. Both create an interesting atmosphere.

I used the pool. I will say right away that it is quite an unusual solution. The swimming pool was on the 4th floor and the changing rooms on the 3rd floor. You have to go up the stairs if you want to swim, unfortunately you can get cold sometimes. The pool itself is beautiful, more strictly because there are two indoor pools. one swim 25m and the other more regenerative. I recommend it for training, it even has a swim timer :) The entrance costs 7 €, unlimited in time and is open until 21:30. Lockers in the cloakroom extra € 1

Better to go there to visit an exhibition or any planned activity. Going there just visiting you won't find that much to do. There a bar and a souvenir shop. Not that much more to see. The surrounding rea is nice to visit, it's quite clean and looks like the financial quarter with lots of businesses, shops and restaurants.

Went there for Monday breakfast. The location is rice with a classic interior. The coffee was good. The tortilla tasty but the croissant a bit soso and dry. Prices similar to other spots in the area.

It's one of the iconic bars of Bilbao that's nice to see, but really doesn't live up to the hype. Food is bang average and service somewhat slapdash. Have a beer and admire the decor, then move on...

Traditional restaurant with a 3 course lunch menu (3 options to pick on each course). Good portion sizes makes it a good option if you are hungry. Home cooking flavourful style and friendly atmosphere. Decoration is nice to see with lots of "arabian" style tiles. Good meal overall and be careful to order wine by the glass or you will get a full bottle per person.2 menus (with 1 bottle of red wine) plus 2 bottles of water amounted to 33 euros.

Great pintxos and really really breautiful big place! I went there just for a little pit stop and try the pintxos that were amazing and to see the building. It's "divided" in two parts, one little is more like a bar and the other side is the restaurant also with musical instruments on the "balcony" where probably they have live music! Absolutely a must! People working there... They are not bad but not super warm and fast at least at the bar

Very ornate decor, pleasant staff … the real Bilbao! Ate the menu de dia on the slightly more expensive day of Sunday, but still very good quality food and value. Highly recommended.

We had lunch here, the menu del dia (3 courses) including wine as Well, for around 19€ per person. It was packed, super, busy. The food was quick, delicious, so was the wine. Out waiter definitely was a bit on the impatient, almost rude kind of side, but maybe thats part of the charme? We Chose to ignore and enjoy our meal, which was a really good deal. The place was equally filled with tourists and locals.

Very tasty pastries, not too sweet and filling. Capuccino was a bit bitter for my taste but other than that it was good. 2 pastries and 2 capuccinos cost 8 euros.

If you are looking for good pintxos, this is one place to visit. We took a stop here and tried a couple. Amazing tortilla, the lamb meat was very soft and flavorful and paired with some good coffee.

Some of the best food I've ever had and I've traveled. In addition, the atmosphere is very calming with the owner's brother having painted the walls outside the windows in an ala Japonese garden style. I would not miss this one on your visit. Oh and the service is impeccable.

Very friendly staff. Thanks Italian Andreas for missing his booking to allow 2 hungry meat eating English chaps to devour a whole cow. Staff were very knowledgeable about the local food and wine. Sherry cask lagers were delicious. Yummy

At first, the interior seems quite eclectic and kitsch, but with the amazing food and wine it grows on you quickly. Waiter seemed like his shift ended way better than it started, but the owner who greeted us and served us during our almost 4hr lunch was the most wonderfully accomodating, and very kind. She recommended a wine that was an incredible surprise. The food is absolutely exceptional, one of the best carpaccios and burratas I've ever had, and ive had plenty of those. The chuleton for 4 of course, was perfect. Left very happily inebriated and satisfied! 👌

Thanks to this place, I have discovered one of the most amazing steaks I’ve ever tried in my life - Chuletón ❤️ Seriously, it was a fantastic mouthwatering experience. Great starters too and decent selection of wines. Will be back once I come to Bilbao again!

WOWWW! Best restaurant in Bilbao everything was cooked to perfection, fresh and so so delicious. You must try the Chuletón, the bacalao and the burrata I mean everything was next level tasty! The service was incredible too and I’m definitely coming back!

Simply amazing. All products are locally sourced and about everything is home made. Very good service, attention to detail and a relaxed atmosphere with fine-dining accents. Beautiful interior design, great both for a date, family or friends. Would highly recommend. Dishes are quite large so bring an appetite or choose to share the starter / main dish. Veal cheeks were the best we ever had!

Loved the place for the impeccable service and relaxing atmosphere. This restaurant is both cozy and elegant inside, perfect for a dinner date or a calm family gathering. Menu has a variety of categories(like fish, meat, etc), but not so many options in each of the categories, what, in my opinion, is a good thing. I think it would be great to add a vegetarian category too as I believe this restaurant has all of the potential to create awesome plant based main courses. I had a salad with fish and it came out to be very filling, because of the amount of fish and vegetables in it. The only thing that could be improved is a boiled egg on top, It made the dish look too simple, so swapping it for a poached egg for example would elevate the whole look of it as well as the taste, because the fish itself is quite dry. Other than that loved their dessert options, it has quite a few, and it tasted absolutely delicious. Also, the presentations were unique for each dish and pleasurable to look at. Overall, I think the restaurant can be quite pricey, especially for the tourists who are on a budget, and the quality/price ratio could be improved. Still, it was a great experience and the place is worth a visit.

Went for the crab gratin and it was so worth it. Crab is probably the signature dish of this bar it got even a decoration of crab. Tried other visually enticing stuff too and almost every one of them is good. Seafood tastes fresh. The atmosphere is great and people seem to have an agreeable vibe at this location. The staff are very friendly too. Strongly recommend for Bilbao center tapas bar hopping.

Very well located with one of the best selections of pintxos in Bilbao. Very busy most of the time. Just order at the counter and eat standing around the counter or try to get a table on the terrace. Good selection of local wine and beer.

One of our favourite pinchos and small raciones experiences en Bilbao. It took some time to get a table outside but we managed and the service was very good. The bartender gave us great recommendations. The crab pincho is nice, I was even more surprised about the blood sausage and peanuts and the tortilla with truffle. Very tasty pinchos. We also tried the smoked tuna and it was so delicious.

Definitely worth the fuss. Yes it’s not the cheapest pintxos. Yes it’s always extremely crowded but the taste and variety and uniqueness of all the food and wine is amazing. And what is most important they are so nice with customers even when is busy and crowded which is rare in Bilbao. Don’t miss pintxos here they are next level from all the others in the town.

This is super good. The spider carb is a must-have. So creamy and good! Foie is also so so good! Crispy on the outside and so flavourful. Croquettes are also one of the best we have ever eaten! Tip: Ask for half squid ink and half ibérica if you can’t decide like us! 😛

.Visited this evening for dinner. Good location, friendly staff and delicious food. I had tuna which was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, crispy outside and a bit pink in the middle. Potato dish was also well seasoned and tasty and tried a bit of meatballs my partner ordered which was very tasty. The photo I added doesn't do the justice, my fault it looked very appetising and I had a mouthful before I remembered to take a pic for the review!

Wow those tapas are beyond imagination! So tasty!!!! We are two people and we took four rounds of tapas, super yummy, thanks for such awesome food!

Probably the best pinxtos we've tried so far in Bilbao. Excellent combination of ingredients, and everything was very fresh. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can be difficult to find seating during busy times, and it's worth being mindful of your possessions as we spotted a pickpocket scoping the inside of the restaurant area for an opportunistic theft!

If you're looking for a cool pintxos bar, this is the place to be. They have all sorts of pintxos and you can just walk up to the counter and pick some. It's great for a simple dinner with some drinks. Rotation is high, so if you can't find a spot to sit immediately, you'll probably find a spot if you wait a while. A must try when in Bilbao

Fantastic curb appeal from the exterior really makes the restaurant stand out and encourages you to enter. The decor is a high-end finish and the Pintxos looked fantastic, displayed under shining glass domes. We ordered four along with a couple of glasses of Crianza. The wine was excellent but unfortunately, the Pintxos were completely underwhelming. Both the Cod Pil Pil and the Crab Croquettes were bland and lacked any flavor. Unfortunately, we paid before realizing we had been overcharged. The staff were apologetic and refunded the overcharge without question.

The most incredible place! We came here to Bilbao on holiday and decided to come into the square. We saw Victor Montes with the lovely restaurant front and fabulous collection of wines, ports, etc which line the walls in glass cabinets. The food was amazing, cannot fault it. The lamb was so tender it fell apart and the pork was to die for. The dessert of white chocolate cream with lemon and vanilla was like heaven, could truly eat another one, or two! Definitely recommend this place. The service was amazing, everyone was happy and very accommodating. Great atmosphere. Certainly somewhere to come again!!

It is not easy to make them understand that I was there to eat late lunch. Looks like they need a time to see if they will or not make food for you. Questions about nacionality and where you live are made. So, the table was presented. I ordered meat, but they did not understand that I asked it well done. The plate hadde to come back to the kitchen, but in the end was ok. More care with the furniture, it can cause damage to customers' clothes. I found this restaurant walking at the old town.

Just a nice cover!😔 We were disappointed with our choice for dinner in Bilbao. The place is beautiful and atmospheric. They are well located. However the service was really bad. For our waiter we weren’t “important guests” and whole evening felt just pathos and disregard. Food was quite nice, but not so impressive. I wouldn’t recommend this place if only for pinchos near bar!

Excellent place to meet with Basque cuisine. I would recommend carpaccio from local ox meat and local wine - we were tastying red Imperial. It would be easier if you speak some Spanish, as only one waiter speaks some English. Be ready that there are plenty people at the bar, so it might be uncomfortable to sit close to the bar. There is about 20 sm between your back and the drinkers.

The food is really tasty, a real surprise considering it's a central touristic place. We tried some starters (only at the table) and also some pintxos (served only at the bar) and both were amazing! They also have a great selection of drinks.

Fast and friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere, choice of outdoor or indoor tables(2 floors). While the available menu is mouth-watering, I reccomend the octopus or lamb dishes, please ask about specials or for a recommendation; you'll be happily surprised!

In the middle of a very touristic area, Victor Montes sticks out of the pack. High quality food with a beautifull dinning area. You can ear at the bar or terasse if you want to chill out. Service is really nice and food is great!

We ate at charming restaurant (Jun 30, 2023) out door table. My husband had stakes. It was amazing taste. Perfectly cooked. Even French fries were tasted good with chunky sea salt. I had Cod loin al pil-pil. It was nice, too but slightly fishy. Yellow source had very little flavor. My first time tasted the “pil pil”. Perhaps, what it should be. It was beautifully decorated, dish though. We also had Sautéed seasonal vegetables(no picture). It was plentiful for us to share. Service was very good and friendly.

Wonderful food and vibrant atmosphere in a great location. I would have given it 5 stars on all ratings if I had not been charged 8euros for bread with a dash of olive oil! That’s a rip off

WoW! Definitely one Of the more delicious & friendly service bars on the Plaza Nova - just point to these photos to the waiter and then bring them to you. Between 130 and 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm till about 10 pm to message of the time they serve straight from the bar food.(also delicious)

The place was full and i can see why, excellent drinks and pinchos. The staff is friendly and if you are not sure what do you want to eat or drink they can give you some recommendations. Prices are fair and the place is very easy to find.

Unfortunately they don’t serve their famous pintxo until 1pm. But the few selections were good, and the coffee was very good. The tiny croissant that came with the coffee was excellent. Very nice seating area and comfortable chair.

Found a spot rather easy compared to the queue that was waiting when we were eating. Best pintxos that we had in Bilbao so far. Wonderful evening with a great service on a lovely square. Be mindful of the closing time of 11 pm.

Did not manage to take photos properly as I was busy enjoying my food. Beef with seaweed was my most favorite although others were really good as well: croqueta, calamari, calamari with black bread and spices, and tempura. The wine was high quality with good taste. For that price with such an experience, I would love to come back many times!

Famous pintxos for a reason, great diversity and very interesting flavors. Drinks are also nice - good sangria and marianito preparado. Grilled octopus - amazing, crab in tempura so-so, oysters ok. I am still sad I haven't tried the cheesecake.

We enjoyed the dinner there. My wife and me really enjoy this place. Food was good. It was busy and we couldn’t get a table so we ate at the bar. She likes the sangria they made and for sure the foods. Around 60 euros for 2. Jamon Joselito was really yummy. Oishiiiii!!! Pulpo, squid and crab tempura 😍. I recommend and will be back there.
