A great place to visit in Beijing. It was built for the emperors & royals to stay during summer. Large man-made lake looked beautiful & the mountains made out of dug soil of lake were full of plants. Eastern side had beautiful looking royal palaces & buildings with long corridors, gardens & temple. A beautiful 150 meters long seventeen arched bridges led to the Dragon temple. Place had lot of pavilions, halls, gardens, bridges, Chinese traditional buildings with red walls & yellow roof.

Very beautiful ancient palace over 300 years old. Regardless of old sad stories, this place is worth visiting. The environment is so good and gave relaxing vibes. The lake was human made and it was so big.

I swear may dwende talaga dito, got lost for four hours trying to find the exit.. 😂😂😂The place is beautiful, has a Spirited Away feel to it, but the vast expanse makes it easy for you to get confused with all the twists and turns around the hill, some paths lead to a dead end but it was an adventure I’ll never forget.

We went there on a very sunny day and the sky was blue. So landscape is breathtaking the architect is beautiful I like the colour of the architect so much. You can also take a walk here. It took about 2 to 3 hours to see everything. It’s always crowded from 10 o’clock in the morning, so it’s better if you could arrange to arrive at eight or 9 o’clock. You can easily purchase the ticket at the ticket office. We took subway from home there and on the way back, we took taxi.

Couldn’t see much unfortunately but it looked very good. Be aware though it is very crowded. Some of the buildings should be kept with a little more care in my opinion but overall the park is beautiful! Recommended if you couldn’t get the tickets for the forbidden city as they are almost impossible to get.

Absolutely stunning. Not necessarily required to buy a ticket ahead of time but it’s nice to do it online and have a hassle free day. Cannot beat the views. I’d recommend either having a taxi app ready or have your hotel arrange one for you, the taxi drivers outside don’t go by meter but just name you a price.

Supremely beautiful place, basically a collection of palaces, lakes and parks. Bigger than the Forbidden Palace in size! It might take almost an entire day to explore the place completely. Highly accessible by metro and road, with very good connectivity. The tickets are fairly priced and one can choose the sections that one would want to visit if they are pressed for time, or take a combo ticket and explore the entire place if there is no time constraint. A must visit while in Beijing:)

One of my favorite spots to visit in the Beijing area! Truly a historical gem. It's definitely worth spending a day hiking around the hills overlooking the lake and walking on the paths and over the beautiful bridges. Of course, it can be very hot and crowded in the summer, so it's better to come in the spring or fall (although it will probably still be crowded - just less hot).

When it Beijing, your visit is not complete without visiting the Summer Palace. The place is 290 hectares and almost 270 years in existence…we went there past 5pm and we need to get a bike inside before it gets dark…it is a good place for walking, jogging and biking…next time I will visit, I will make sure to be there earlier to see more of its surroundings and history

A very elaborate and beautiful place. There is a lot to see and you can easily spend a day there. Might want to check the calendar and avoid visiting on a Chinese holiday as the crowds are huge.

The place was so beautiful, during our visit it was really crowded (weekend) and hot Summer time in Beijing. There are so many sightseeing in this place, mostly related to the emperor's history, prepare yourself because the path is climbing the stairs until top level, on the top you can see the lake view, the bridge and city view. Bought the entrance fee through online around RMB 60.

China is the first country I have visited without a religion .. it is a strange feeling I can not explain so amongst this to find a temple was like a breath of fresh air so had to visit you get to pray and light incense sticks . The temple is also housing a very tall buddha statue as you can see in pictures I'm not very religious but it felt good just outside the temple there is a good shot to pick up things to bring back

YONGHEGONG (Lama Temple) situated up north of Beijing, once you arrived the yonghegong station take exit C/B then walks around the temple to the entrance. All tickets can be pre-book or buy at the front of the gate. Once purchase the security will scan your passport, so make sure you bring your passport with you all the time. Inside the temple is very breathtaking. All historical buildings are well preserved. Make sure to visit the mini museums within one of the room to learn more about Buddhism and the history of Lama Temple 🛕

The building and artwork of the temple is a combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. This building is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China proper. The current abbot is Lama Hu Xuefeng.

Deep Cultural & Historical experience, entry into the temple was quick and you can collect incense as you walk in. Very beautiful and well maintained considering how many people there were. Definitely recommend a tour guide to understand the history and architecture. It’s an amazing Buddhist Temple which I highly recommend to go, the surrounding neighbourhood is also great for a walk with some culturally themed restaurants nearby.

Outside of Tibet this is probably one of the most important of the Tibetan Buddhist temples. It is well worth seen and is easily access via the subway. Entrance price is not very expensive. Make sure you pick up the incense on your way in which they give you for free. Then you will have multiple opportunities to join the people who are burning incense at the various devotional sites in the temple. The giant carved sandalwood Buddhist statue is really amazing!

an extraordinary temple in heart of Beijing situated next to the Confucius temple. I liked walking in entrance narrow road which is covered by beautiful colored trees. there are 7 temples there and in each temples there's an Idol. in 7th temple you see a huge standing Idol which height is equal to 5th floor building.

A long covered walkway with over 8000 intricate paintings depicting scenes from Chinese literary classics and old fables. There are also four octagonal pavilions connected by the corridor, each one with a theme and more elaborate artwork (don't miss the ceilings). Worth taking a stroll through.

Follow the crowd... Well worth the visit despite the swarm/hordes of tourists! One of the sights that should definitely not be missed. Take a look around and try to relax but crowds can become manic... All part of the experience.

Relatively small but impressive park tucked behind the Forbidden City - giving the best views of that, and of north Beijing.

This was my first stop of the day as I wanted to catch sunrise from here. Sunrise was estimated to be at 7.30am as advised by google, so I made my way up the park at about 7am. It is a short but steep climb up the small hill to reach the vantage point. I recommend coming here for sunrise as compared to sunset as there is significantly lesser people here. In the evenings, the whole place will be flooded with hundreds of photographers and you will find it difficult to take any photographers. Fruthermore its a healthy activity to wake up early and start your day. You are on holiday, so grab the opportunity to start early and visit more attractions. The view is nice and you are able to look down at the entire forbidden palace. The sun rises slightly to the left of the forbidden palace so it may not produce the most spectacular picture, but then again that really depends on the time of the year that you are visiting. Below are some of the pictures that I was able to take when I was here. You are required to purchase a ticket here in order to enter. Unfortunately when I was there, they were not excepting cash. Thankful I had Alipay set up and was able to purchase a ticket that way.

This was a really cool park. I remember the ticket teller being very rude (threw our tickets at us for some reason) but otherwise we had a good experience here!

Beautiful area with great over looking views of the forbidden city. Well worth a visit and it wasn't busy when I was there. There is a lot of small up hill climbs and stairs so might not be the easiest for people with limited mobility.

A beautiful park in the standard Chinese park style. As opposed to European parks a Chinese Park doesn't have straight paths and curves around natural formations, even when the formations aren't natural! This is essentially the mound of dirt and rock from the excavation of the Forbidden City moat. And how glad I am that it exists because the views are amazing. Remember not to be annoying and get in others pictures, take your pictures and leave quickly! It's a quick "hike" (up paved steps) and the view of Beijing and the Forbidden City is well worth it, I recommend a visit after seeing the Forbidden City the same day.

We had a lot of anticipation for this place. Heard exceptional things about its other branch. Overall: Reasonable food for Exorbitant prices. Recommended for its name, and previous fame, we were excited for our duck which was probably the only that that did deliver. Duck was well presented and tasty, have not tried with these peking duck condiments before. Other dishes were ok - can get for same if not better quality for cheaper prices. Hot dishes were served lukewarm. Crispy prawns served soft. Perhaps we expected too much. If you charge high end prices, adequate service and food is expected.

Up market Peking duck restaurant. Very extensively menu. The menu is as thick as a storybook! Hahahaha. Spoilt for choice! Good quality food and especially that fish soup we ordered was superb!! Be warned, it's not cheap here and service was not really that impressive. 1 lady was doing the cleaning and when we asked for the bill, she rushed over to attend to us and the rest of the service staff were talking over at 1 corner! Then we chanced upon Da Dong fast food chain serving the Peking duck at much lower price if you don't mind the ambience and just want a taste of their duck. Limited menu items of course!

very special experience=] I liked it. she could not explain dishes in detail, and service was not good enough for this price, but food was new to me and ingredients seemed good for health I guess. worth a visit.

We have the afternoon tea for two. It is a vegetarian restaurant and I am not very into it. About food, the portion is quite large, most of the dim sum are good, while some of them truly missed the point: too oily or with odour. Service good. Atmosphere is excellent.

As the first vegetarian restaurant which has been marked & collected by the Michelin as 🌟🌟🌟and from the restaurant manager, this restaurant is the first three stars vegetarian restaurant around the world. Firstly,the diner in environment perfectly matches the topic of how traditional PEK restaurant looks like, therefore, from the setting address, interior decoration & service quality,it can be seen that the owner spend his own enthusiasm for the restaurant. At least, According to the previous mentioning terms , the only Michelin three stars vegetarian restaurant absolute right evaluation. Secondly, for the term of cuisine, the main course such as quinoa boletus wellington with red wine pineapple grapefruit enzymes is highly recommended, because, there is no difference between this & real steaks in taste & appearance. Lastly, usually having fine dinner with wine is a routine for any type of Michelin restaurant, yet, for this restaurant, it offers different juice to service corresponding cuisines. It can be marked such as unique. However, from food, dinner in environment & service quality, the first Michelin three stars vegetarian restaurant is well-deserved.

The environment of the restaurant is absolutely perfect. However, the food to me is very disappointing. The mushroom soup is purely mushroom stock. They used Celery instead of Chinese celery as garnish which definitely have less flavor. Plating was almost the same in the middle of the meal. And the pace of the dinning experience is uncomfortable. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian but I do love vegetarian meal. Compare to Fu He Hui in Shanghai, this restaurant got a lot to work on.

I am not really a vegetarian type of person, and nothing beats a good bbq for me. Having said this, the food at this place is delicious. Great variety and interesting flavors. The menu includes ratings from other guests as well as foreigners (which may help some people - like me). They also have set menus for different price points but we didn’t order any but chose a la carte. The waiters English was good enough, everyone was very polite and helpful. The ambience is upscale, everything is very proper, with bigger areas with tables and smaller one table areas for groups or business dinners. Design wise you will experience darker wood with white/ ivory colors, low Chinese music, a very elegant and peaceful environment. Total bill including a bottle of wine (around 500) was 1500 (around 220 usd in 03/2019). Not cheap, but if you have the cash, you get some fantastic flavor experiences, a new look at vegetarian food and a very stylish lunch / dinner. All In all, it’s a great foody experience Highly recommend it.

Honestly my favorite restaurant in Beijing. I love the vegetarian food, the ambiance, the harpist playing live music regularly, the lighting, staff and overall experience. It’s a sensorial wonder. Highly recommend it, and consider booking a day or two early!

After such a long search, I finally found the ultimate place to eat. In Beijing of all places exists a three Michelin star vegetarian place that is truly awesome. In terms of taste and scent complexity my new number one. Great wine Menü too. I will definitely come back at least once a year!

A wide open hall with lots of families eating and enjoying their time. Great selection of foods with an exceptionally exquisite and delicate Peking duck. Good price point of around 70 USD for a large set of meals. Fast service efficiently catering to dozens of tables simultaneously. I think maybe the only thing I didn’t like as much were the other meals that came after the Peking duck. The duck was so good while the other dishes were merely above average that the discrepancy was tangible. But all in all wonderful experience. Would definitely come here and try the other sets.

The waitress is nice, they teach us how to wrap the duck correctly. The duck is nice. We ordered a little bit more than enough. Half duck is only one small plate, whole duck is 2 plates. They offer us a free duck soup. Very nice. They keep the duck warm the with a candle under the plate like my picture here.

Amazing place to taste the roast duck, their specialty. Interiors are done well and ambiance is bustling. quite a busy restaurant which is testimony for good food and great service. we were group of friends and tasted wide variety of food on offering.

Used to be really good but now it's become so commercialized that some of the good are just pee packaged and not of good quality. Ducks are still good but pancakes are too think and even after changing are too dry. Good queueing process: you are asked how many people per table and are directed to certain floor, and later given a number for waiting.

Best Pekin duck I’ve ever had. I went here with friend’s who have been here before. The duck was amazing, and other side dishes we ordered were great. I would love to go back. It’s been 6 years… 2015 when I visited here.

Before my trip to Beijing, Sji Minfu was recommended to me as the go-to restaurant for their Peking Duck, the real and true Peking Duck (not the roast duck we are accustomed to in Australia). The Peking duck skin was thin and melt in the mouth, the meat was tender and the bones were cooked into choice of soup or deep fried. The dishes we ordered were also flavoursome and delicious. Service was friendly and the menu is available in English. Due to its popularity, all their restaurant branchs come with a long queue. Recommended to get there early if you want to avoid the wait. Will definitely be back!

I’m from Canada 🇨🇦 so this was a beautiful experience for me. First time I tried many Beijing specialties right in the heart of Beijing. All the classic dishes were done with beautiful modern presentation. I recommend this restaurant to any foreign travellers 🧳 like myself. Be sure to bring a friend who speaks Mandarin and knows the culture so you can enjoy the full experience.

Very authentic experience! The food, especially their Beijing Duck is one of the finest dishes we had in China. Very nice and polite service. They taught us how to eat the Beijing duck like the locals do. Prices are decent, guests are mostly locals. Highly recommend for every Beijing visitors.

After having read the other comments, I had some good expectations of the food at Da Dong. Sure, it tasted decent and the food certainly looked even better, unfortunately the service was lacking what you'd expect for this sort of calibre of restaurant. For starters, we wasted ages looking through their 200 page menu trying to work out what to order. Then we tried to order, flicking through the hundreds of pages of the menu, while the waitress yawned at us looking like this was the last place she wanted to be. Actually most of the waitresses looked a little tired and overall lacked any sort of enthusiasm. I guess their mood kind of rubbed off on my impression of the food. Next, I tried to order one of their long list of beers. Sorry they only had a couple of them... boring old Tsing Tao which doesn't even taste like a beer should. Why would you list a whole bunch of drinks on your menu if you don't plan to stock any of them? Sorry but that is not good enough for a restaurant like this, what a let down. Fortunately, the food itself is the redeeming feature of this restaurant - it actually tastes pretty good and looks brilliant. A chef came out to carve the duck at our table, which was an interesting little bit of show. The skin and texture of the duck was exceptional and I doubt you can find better. Too bad the taste itself isn't as good as some of the duck I've had back in Sydney. Oh well, still pretty good and worth a try! I would recommend eating here, but don't expect anything from the service at all. Also, expect to be surrounded by foreigners (I certainly was).

Modern Chinese cuisine, you can't imagine how much it has improved unless you compare the food to the finest japanese omakaze or Michelin star restaurants around Europe and the UK. I'd never agree to wasting food unless it's unbearably bad, but you can start to understand why the new Chinese generations leave food uneaten at fancy restaurants overseas, it's because they have better food at home. The price point is reasonable, and I'd recommend you try the soups on the menu, absolute flavour bombs with a modern chinese twist. The squid ink and tomato soup (no photo) was just wow.

High class restaurant with fair price. Beijing duck is one of must try when you are in Beijing. They make a very nice one for sure. All other foods are above average but I personally like the fresh corn juice very much.

This is a Chinese restaurant specialise in peking duck 😋. They also have other variety of dishes like dumplings, mains, soup, entree and etc. The food is quite expensive if compare to China standard, but definitely cheaper than Singapore if same quality. I really enjoy the peking duck, its one of the best l have ever tried. You can choose less fat or more fat peking duck. All the other dishes we ordered were very good also. Happy eating peking duck 😋

Best Peking Duck, period. Duck has no gamey taste and very crispy skin that does not taste over oily. If you had great Peking duck anywhere in the world before, I'm certain this place redefine the definition of excellence. And to top it all, other dishes as well as ambience is great as well.
