A conflicting feel on the effort of what you have to do in order to experience this beautiful place. We did a good amount of research before attempting here. We woke at 3:30am and ventured out for an hour drive here. Coming down Lake Louise Drive, you will not be allowed to make the left into Moraine Lake Rd so need to drive to lake Louise and double back and HOPEFULLY they allow you to get into Moraine Lake Rd. if the lot is full then the attendants there will wave you off and you will have to go back in town, double back and try again. Arriving here at 5am, luckily there was 2 parking spots left on this tiny parking lot. We thanked the gods and then slept in the car until sunrise. You can take the short climb up to the rockpiles left of the lake but it will be a mod of people and picture takers here that will stay for longer times, but the view of the lake here is breathtaking. Afterwards you can take the path on the right side of the lake and enjoy a less-people experience of lake side or venture into the lake bed for more grounded shots. It can be a once in a lifetime thing but for me once in a life time is enough. Perhaps you may get a better chance of finding a parking spot if you come later when the morning crowd is finished and they are leaving and freeing up spots. Bathrooms here are pit toilets only so prepare mentally.

Absolutely breathtaking and so very peaceful! And yes the water does look exactly like the photos, no filter added!! Personal vehicles are not allowed, only for accessibility purposes, so purchase you shuttle ride ahead of time on Parks Canada recommendation is 48hrs before. Shuttle takes you from Lake Louise resort to Moraine then another from Moraine to Lake Louise and back, very efficient and you can enjoy the view.

Amazing! Almost unbelievable. I thought Lake Louise was turquoise but this spot is SO MUCH MORE MAGNIFICENT! Both spots are a must visit but the water here is spectacular.

Amazing view. Beautiful emerald green lake. You can climb up to the hill with rocks and will see fantastic landscape from there.

Highly recommend the parks Canada shuttle! Friendly folks and they stay exactly on time so you can rely on them. The earlier in the morning, the better during the summer months. If you go along the lake, it’s less crowded. The canoe rentals look beautiful. It was $140 for up to 3 people per canoe.

Very beautiful spot! The water is very blue. It's definitely a popular destination with lots of tourists swarming along the lookout points. We parked and took the tour bus here and to Lake Louise.

Went to Banff in summer of 2021. Personally I like here better than Lake Louise. I was mind blown. The color of the lake is insanely beautiful.

Best lake near Banff! The parking lot does fill up fast but we did get lucky in finding a spot, perhaps it was low season. The lake is a beautiful turquoise blue and the little hike up the top of the rocks gave us a nice view from above. Would highly recommend the hike if you’re somewhat physically capable.

Took a private shuttle to the lake and it was fuss-free and convenient. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the Park & Ride in Lake Louise but you have to book in advance. If you’re not driving, you can actually take a free shuttle from near the visitors’ centre to the Park & Ride. Do not miss out on this view!! It’s really not that difficult to get there and is absolutely worth it. Many others were having a little picnic while enjoying the view of the lake and the Ten Peaks. I did too, with cup noodles (just remember to bring a tumbler of hot water 😉).

Situated in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, this glacially-fed gem is a postcard-perfect vision that lives up to every ounce of hype. If you're looking to connect with the raw beauty of the world, this is the place to be.

Moraine Lake has a really small parking lot so if you want a spot, you better get there around 2-3am or in the evening around sunset or later. Beautiful view. Take the short trail up to the Lookout spot on the rocks above the lake, especially if you go for sunset. Or rent a canoe or bring your own kayak to paddle around the lake.

Hands down, the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life. Is this place busy? Absolutely. Is it worth the crowds, the waits, the parking lots, and having to take a bus from a parking lot to the lake? ABSOLUTELY. Do not miss Moraine Lake! I parked in a parking lot a ways away as the closer one was full and took a bus to the lake. I visited in August and one day had shorts on and was swimming in Emerald Lake, then the day I went to Moraine Lake there were specs of snow while on the bus ride up. There were tourists for sure, but there were also plenty of spots to sit and take in the incredible view without it being obstructed by others visiting. Again, do not miss this place!

Moraine Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been to! The lake is serene and the powder blue water is absolutely surreal! The mountain range surrounding the lake looks like jagged arrowheads and adds a great dynamic to this wonderful place. It does get crowded and people will definitely get in the way of pictures. It was surprising how easy it was to get here from the parking lot. That being said the parking lot fills up quick and they close down the road when it fills up so get there as soon as you can. We tried going multiple times and only got in once due to the closures so keep that in mind. Of all the places I visited in Canada I would put this up on the list due to the sheer beauty of this lake!

I love this place, it is always amazing, breathtaking views, a lot of activities to do, from viewing, hiking, kayaking or boating, a side there are different services at the hotel. Take in mind currently there is a ban for the private cars to reach the lake, you have to use the buses, reserve and pay online.

Moraine Lake is an amazing destination, but there are some important things to know before you go. The primary mode of transportation to the lake is by shuttle buses, and it's advisable to book them in advance. I used the "Moraine Lake Bus Company" and had a great experience with it. Once you arrive, you'll find an information pop-up for hikers and the general public, as well as plenty of public bathrooms. The Moraine Lodge Lodge features a small cafe and a gift shop, and there's also a canoe rental available. Of course, the main attraction is the stunning and vast lake itself. I highly recommend bringing your own kayak, paddleboard, or any other inflatable watercraft to fully enjoy the lake. However, be prepared for the water to be extremely cold. Make sure your equipment is inflatable, as it needs to fit in the shuttle bus. The hiking trails are family-friendly, and there were many families around when I visited. However, the area can get overcrowded, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. For more challenging hikes, check with the information staff from the parks. You're allowed to bring your own food and supplies, but be sure to check with your shuttle company about any limitations on the number of items you can bring. In summary, Moraine Lake offers a beautiful day surrounded by its crazy blue water. Just keep in mind the transportation restrictions and the potential crowds, and you'll have a fantastic time exploring this stunning lake and its scenic surroundings.

Spectacular and awe inspiring. The water is a vivid neon blue like no other lake I've seen before and surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, giving it a surreal view. Easy family friendly trails around most of the lake. Absolutely stunning making it one of my favorite places on this earth.

A beautiful combination of mountains, logs, rocks and blue water. Such a magnificent destination is great for weddings and such. You can sit there all day. Bring family, friends or date. Whatever you do don't bother with the logs. Read the reason on the sign posted there.

One of the most beautiful scenic rivers and falls. Nature at its best. Calm serene colorful and exhuberant all at one time. Ir relaxed you and fills you up with new energy vigour and clear mind. Words can't do justice to this wonderland you need to experience it first hand.

Absolutely beautiful, despite being nearly completely frozen the ice was starting to thaw so we could hear some rushing water whilst still seeing the beauty of the ice and snow covering the falls. We can’t wait to come back in the early summer when the falls are rushing at the full glory.

Beautiful place. Most organised tours come here (we came here twice during our vacation), so you're probably going to visit it, and it's worth it. It's beautiful! Now I would like to check out the movie with Marylin Monroe that was filmed here, since both guides mentioned it...

I great place for hiking, taking pictures and just to see the sites

Don’t be turned away by the shortness of this waterfall - its roaring and powerful. Got some cool slo mo videos. This hike was very confusing to get to. We originally tried going for sunset, but were unsure and it was getting dark. So we went the next morning. We parked in the SMALL parking lot for surprise corner lookout and got there early enough there was one spot available. Most people just park there for the surprise corner lookout, which is pretty short, so cars are coming and going for parking spots to open up. We parked there, went to the surprise corner lookout, then walked all the way along the highway to Bow Falls, which was very out of the way because we had to backtrack once we crossed the bridge. I would recommend parking near the bridge on bow river and going from there. There is also a path from downtown banff parking lot across the street from patagonia, but you have to pay to park there. The actual hike is pretty fun, but people everywhere and getting in the way. The path goes along bow river until you get to the falls. There are railings at the end that might get in pictures. Overall pretty cool spot but way too touristy.

Located near the Fairmont Hotel, walking distance. Paid parking is available less than 5 min walk from the viewpoint. Beautiful view to snap some pictures. Don’t miss this place when you’re in Banff. Right next to it is the golf course (across the bridge).

We walked from Banff Ave, took a left, went over the pedestrian bridge, and walked all the way down the path till the falls. It was MAGNIFICENT and a trip highlight. Seeing the Fairmont was a surprise as well. There are stairs a few times, so keep that in mind. Great for kids. The falls are bigger then they appear. Beautiful!

Amazing! No rainfall! Newer boardwalk along the river. We went down to the river. That's cool. I saw people was riding in paddleboats.

Beautiful place to visit while in Banff. There’s parking next to the falls or you can park at the parking of the Banff Springs Hotel and walk 15 minutes to get to the falls.

Exceptional place the view is breath taking. There is a short trail across the river giving you some amazing views. Ample parking & washroom. There are picnic spots if needed. Over all you must stop at this place its so serene. Check out my other reviews & follow for more.

Beautiful lake in Banff National Park. There are few picnic tables by the lake. There are big parking lot close to the lake but always busy. Most of the time it is hard to find a parking spot. Washroom facility is available too.

This is a lake which took me by surprise . Walking down from the *free parking lot* the view did not seem that good. Starting part of the lake looks dried out. But once you find the right spot in between the rocks, the view is mesmerising. It’s full of colours. Every time you move an inch or turn your head, the colour combination looks different. Walking down the road is peaceful Would love to visit this(amongst other places) in winter.

Wonderful crew, and beautiful scenery. the boat doesn’t dock anywhere on the trip but the engines are shut down for a few minutes at the turning point in water to experience the calmness and peace, it was a serene experience.

Very nice place. I recommend stopping at a parking lot a bit more South of the main parking lot just by the Road. Here you can get some really nice pictures of the Lake and the mountain. And there are almost no people. Enjoy!

Well paved hikes with great bathrooms. Saw a family of deer on the hike. Make sure to bring bear spray as the park ranger mentioned a family getting charged by a bear on this trail last month. Cafe at the start of the trail has great food too.

Beautiful, easy to get to and drive along the lake. The views are absolutely stunning, the color of the lake in July is unbelievable. If you are in the area, I'd recommend at least a drive along the lake if your are in a hurry, it doesn't take long at all.

Beautiful lake! With its turquoise colour water this a perfect place for a boat ride or just a visit to explore the beauty of the rockies.

It was a dark and dreary day when we visited this lake which is a short drive from Banff. It was still beautiful. Maybe because it was raining there was not a big crowd at any of the view points so available parking was plentiful.

Great for getting in the water. Plenty of "beach" space (it's really pebbles, not sand). The breeze was nice, and lots of trees if it's sunny. There are also some nice views of mountains.

Beautiful Lake and interesting history behind it. Exceptional facilities: toilettes, coffee/bistro with reasonable prices; beware though CRAZY parking. We were fortunate to park quickly but as we left there was at least a dozen vehicles waiting for a spot. There's some unofficial parking spots we noticed at the shoulder of the road. Check out the cruise/hiking options. Definitely a must-do while in Banff.

Very close to Banff, just a few minutes drive. Open all season long. Boat tours on the summer. Popular for hiking, crosscountry ski and dive tours. Great history and story for the Spirit lake Minnewanka. Not to mention picnic tables are available for free with a cafe open on the summer and fall. This is my favorite place to go in Banff.

Exceptional lake with great view. There is boating, kayaking and mini cruise rides available check out timing and price on their website. But the views of mountains and lake is just breath taking. There is ample parking, washroom and picnic spot and benches. Kids had a lot of fun. There are hikes from the lake. Lake Minnewanka is less crowded and easier to access than Lake Louise, but the geography is just as stunning! It's the largest lake in the park and quite deep as well. A long but easy hiking trail runs the length of the lake, connecting a few camp sites (some get shut down during peak bear season in July). Kayaks are available to rent, and boat tours can be booked in advance. When visiting by car, plan to spend some time circling the small parking lot, waiting for a spot to open up. Minnewanka has a long and interesting history - Clovis tools, flooded towns, a number of dams that changed its shape - so it's worth reading a little bit about it before visiting if history is an interest of yours.

This doesn’t get the hype of Louise or Moraine, but it’s beautiful, and the biggest lake in the area. Free abundant parking, nice bathrooms. We hiked past the bridge then with our bear spray in hand hiked the the left along the river that feeds the lake just over the wooden bridge. We coupled up with other hikers as required to avoid bear 🐻 encounters. Go until you can go down to the river bed.

This was an unplanned stop and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by both the scenery and how enjoyable the hikes were around the lake. Informative panels talked about the history of the area, the native flora and fauna, and a great viewpoint at the end of the trail produced some great pictures of the unearthly blue waters.

One of my favourite stops along the Icefield parkway. The walk is short in distance but has a steep elevation going to the viewpoint. The bright aqua colour lake and mountains behind make this one of the most amazing views in the Banff/Jasper area. The parking lot was empty during a weekday evening visit.

Hike road was concrete and stiff (going uphill). There are some resting spot throughout the hike. No picnic benches available or shaded sitting area. There is overlook view point. Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. Pictures are not doing justice. Absolutely must! This hike is handicapped accessible path to the end. Hike can be finished in an hour so people are in/out quite often. Loved the hike!

Insanely beautiful. The crowds were not too bad at late morning. The hike up to Bow Summit Lookout is not easy but worth the view. Many hikers spotted bears along this trails so have a bear spray ready and make lots of noise while walking.

Incredibly picturesque viewpoint at the end of a short uphill trek! Beautiful blue waters of Peyto Lake look surreal and is an iconic viewpoint in Alberta. The short but somewhat challenging hike up a narrow trail to the viewpoint dock is definitely worth it for the views and pictures! This spot is generally very crowded and the parking lots will be quite full resulting in multiple drive-arounds to find a vacant space. Check this view out if you’re able!

I went to Peyto Lake because I could not find a parking spot at Lake Louise and we decided to go for a trip to Jasper and on the way there we saw this beautiful lake just less than an hour from Lake Louise. It took us about half an hour walking up on the pavement to see the view point. It’s built for wheelchairs. Parking is easy to find and it’s not busy at all. The pictures I took are no filter at around 8.45 am.

The beauty of the lake make this place so unreal. This place became one of my most favorite places of all time when i came here. And when the water hits direct sunlight, it becomes so bright and pretty. But you need to have a bit of walking to the Peyto Lake. So if you want to go here make sure you’re ready for the walk. But it’s actual just like 500m long so you dont have really to worry about the walk

We enjoyed the hike and the view of Peyto Lake. This is a must visit in Jasper, BC.

Unreal and absolutely jaw dropping beautiful. The lake is an amazing Turquoise Blue color, and is surrounded by amazing mountains. The lower parking lot is abput 0.6 mile to the viewing deck. There is an upper parking lot, but that's for public buses, if you come late in the evening, you could park there, when the buses are not running and thats a 5 minute walk to the observation deck. A must stop if you're on hwy 93 to Jasper.

I recently visited Peyto Lake in Alberta, and I must say, it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The moment I laid eyes on the lake, I was mesmerized by the incredible color and the stunning view that unfolded before me. It's as if nature itself decided to paint the waters with the most vivid shades of blue, creating a scene that looks almost surreal. The color is so striking and vibrant that it's hard to believe it's real.

The most beautiful place is Jasper National Park. The walk to the viewpoint is not easy and people struggling to walk will have a hard time. Else that that, this is a must see Lake i Jasper! Enjoy!

A short but steep hike up a paved pathway to the lake viewpoint is well worth it! The day we visited Peyto Lake was a bit smoky but still beautiful. There are no picnic tables at the viewpoint, just a bench along the pathway.

A very beautiful lake shaped like a dog! Waterfalls can be seen in the distance falling from the glacier and a few streams from there joining the lake. The hike is short but steep and it starts from the parking lot. Went there in the evening and parking was almost empty.

Visited : May 14 2022 It's a simple hike and easily doable for all experience level . However many portions of the trail are covered with ice, we initially mistook it for concrete but it was hard ice and extremely slippery. You should be fine with proper hiking boots. Running shoes and slippers can be extremely dangerous. Watch your head while hiking the cave before the falls!

Extremely beautiful and a pleasurable walk. 3 stars because of how busy it is here lately and that there's no garbage cans anywhere along the trail. Yes of course if you pack it in, you pack it out but people need to be given more options because they aren't very smart or considerate. Also, the upper falls is closed down and they're still bringing bus loads of people here, its ridiculous. I know for a fact that the majority of them had no idea upon arrival.

Very nice and easy hike. While several other hiking trails are still closed (early May 2022), the Johnston canyon trail is open. P1 was pretty busy, but on the trail it was well spread out. We had a good time during our hike and enjoyed the scenery.

This hike is amazing. A little crowded so go early or late in the day. The water canyon is awesome and the views are incredible. We did not continue on the the ink pots but if you are up for a longer hike you can add 3 km more to your hike.

Loved the place unfortunately it was under renovations to extend the upperfalls so i couldnt get that far and another downside it was really busy to try to get in the cave to see the waterfall that way. Still 5 stars because it was too beautiful not to see. P.S. i did wait for the cave it took 35 minute wait at the time be warned but if you just want to see the falls font wait just head there

Beautiful water falls, amazing cave with amazing waterfall sound and view. Took almost 30 mins to go in because of lineup outside the cave, but it's worth it. Parking all full on weekends, try to go in weekdays, so,that you can find parking easily. Great place for hiking. Few benches to sit and take a bit rest. We didn't go to upper falls as we get tired but lower falls were also very mesmerizing! Definitely recommend it ! 5 stars 🌟

Simply amazing spot for a hike in the winter. The hike to the frozen upper falls took us a couple of hours but that's due to LOTS of stops for photos. There was a wait to see the lower falls up close which I am not sure is worth the 20 minute wait. Would love to come back here in the summer too.

This is a really impressive canyon. We visited the lower falls and went through the little cave get really close to the water. It was brilliant. The path is a little narrow in places and you have to wait for others to pass but should prove no issue unless you have assisted mobility, then you may require help to get to the falls.

I went with my grandkids to Johnston Canyon, Lower Falls on a weekday closer to 6pm. That was a perfect time! Low low crowds and it wasn’t to hot, the walk was easy and scenery breathtaking. At the base of the lower falls there is a cave you can go through to see the falls from a different viewpoint. You either want to go early in the morning or later in the evening. There are also clean public washrooms which is nice. We would’ve done the upper falls as well but we were to tired from hiking we had already done. Johnston Canyon is a must to see, there is parking but limited..so pick your time wisely.

Did a hike here in the evening a couple weeks ago. Pretty easy walk on the pathway. Maybe a half hour most to get here. Continued on to The upper falls after. No wait at night to see the falls. Maybe a few other ppl around. Evening there are no crowds.

Views for lower and upper falls. Lower falls accessible in 30 minutes and upper in an hour. Safety railings are provided. Beautiful photo opportunities throughout the hike. Arrived via the Hop On Hop Off which dropped us off at the main entrance.

During our visit to Banff, we enjoyed dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory! We actually went to 2 restaurants prior and were very disappointed with the atmosphere, service, and friendliness. When we arrived, they were very busy. There was a 15 wait we received a text message when our table was ready. Our server was very busy. It took a little while for him to make his way to our table , completely understandable. When he greeted us, he apologized for the wait and was super friendly. He was so nice. It being our first time here we had a few questions about the menue. He was very patient and kind to us . I figured our food would take a little while , it being so busy.... but no, he brought out a mini loaf of bread and butter , then our dinner shortly after , it was really fast . Everything was delicious, better than expected. The price was unbelievable. For a family of 4 , 3 course meals, beer/drinks, and an appetizer, our bill was under $100!!!! It is honestly the best dining experience we had in a while. Great server ✅️ Quality food ✅️ Reasonable price ✅️ 5 🌟 all around !!

Decent pasta, friendly service. We were shocked by how much food we got for the price we paid. You get your main dish + complimentary tea/juice, salad/soup, bread and ice cream for the price of your main dish.

My first visit here, it was just amazing ! Even we had blackout tonight (all banff area), I enjoyed dinner with my friends. Food was great for the price, and ‘all included’ was fabulous idea that we had salad, ice cream and hot drink included. All were perfect except for the slow service. Our waiter was a guy (cant recall his name but started with J). It took so long to get the take away box, paper bag, dessert order, getting the bill and paying for it. I do not think it was busy that half of tables were empty (as it was late). This is the only thing can be improved, providing service little faster. Other than that, it is perfect place to enjoy nice pasta dishes with others :)

Was here on a Thursday afternoon (around 3 pm) and the place was on the quieter side, which was perfectly fine. The greeter was friendly and showed us to our seat and was in general pleasant. We ordered the French onion soup, the carbonara, and the pesto linguine with chicken. Although the French onio soup was good it wasn't the quality I was expecting based on previous visits at other locations in Edmonton and Calgary. The pastas were undercooked and the pesto sauce was not blended properly. Both pastas also tasted pretty bland. Ordered a bottle of wine and interestingly our server never actually served it to us, like you normally expect (presenting it, approval, and finally serving it). He just opened the bottle and left it on the table. Our server was friendly. Overall, compared to the past experiences I have had at other locations, this was not the greatest.

I had an amazing experience here. Our server, Thomas was the best! He was kind, sweet and friendly. He is an exceptional server and management should know this. The food itself was good too, and the price was on the affordable end. I came with my sister and brother-in law and we all enjoyed our time here. We will be coming back and will ask for THOMAS again. :) OVERALL I would recommend to all my friends.

One of the best pastas I’ve ever had! They offer a good range of menu including vegan/vegetarian meals. I ordered ravioli and manicotti and both of them tasted really good and had a generous quantity. Also, love how most of the meals are ‘all included’. Our server was really nice and offered us his recommendations. Will be looking forward to revisit and would recommend to anyone visiting Banff.

Our first visit here, it was very busy and we had a twenty-five minute wait for a table.  The decor and atmosphere are appealing and relaxing, the menu has a good variety to choose from.  We ordered the Seafood Linguine Marinara, Roasted Garlic Grilled Chicken and Spaghetti with Meatballs.  Food portions were generous, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the meals were very tasty and nicely spiced.  Prices are decent considering the salad, unlimited bread, main course, tea, and icecream are all inclusive. Our server, Gabriel, was very friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed conversing with him, all the best to him in his future studies!  I highly recommend trying this place.

What’s not to like?! Reasonable price for Starter, Main Course and Desert!! Spinach Salad with Goat cheese and Cranberries, Roasted Garlic Chicken were tasty. I’d recommend this place!

We went to this Italian restaurant for the very first time and we love it! It was a very pleasant experience from the people who greeted us to our server Harry! Harry went above and beyond, he explained everything and he helped us to choose the meal, exceptional customer service!! We ordered Chicken Alfredo with Mushroom and Mascarpone Cheese Ravioli and it was the best pasta in my life! I was enjoying every piece of this dish! This meal comes with freshly baked bread and garlic butter, soup/salad of your choice and ice cream. We also ordered Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo with with our spinach and egg fettuccine noodles, it was very yummy! Portion are big, it’s nice that everything included in price. You can also get free coffee and tea. We had our meals with classic red sangria, highly recommended!! The interior is very interesting, a lot of stained glass windows, vintage lamps and wooden chairs! If you are in Banff, you cannot miss this place!!

The food was amazing here!! If you like Italian this is the place!! The vibe was very warm with comfortable seating. The fettuccine Alfredo was amazing and the soup was definitely up to the mark! Our food also came with extra sides of ice cream which was a first! 🤩 The views from the restaurant were 10/10 with a full view of the mountain and town! I highly recommend this place but it gets crowded around 7-8 pm. 🫶

Came at opening hours. Quickly seated and fast service. Unlimited baked bread and came with side salad/soup. Seafood linguini marinara had a generous portion of seafood and spices. Once other diners came, they were seated relatively close to other tables. Server forgot to give us our ice cream at the end, until we asked.

Great deal for very good food. Bread, soup or salad, tea or coffee, and ice cream included in the price. Aaron, who kindly served us was very friendly & professional. Highly recommended!

We were there in the afternoon around 3, not too busy but taking a bit of wait time to get our order/food. The service was absolutely excellent! The cheese fondue was great, but it was a bit greasy as it's only bread dipped in cheese and there are only two of us. the hot rock BBQ is good, with a small portion tho. The other thing I loved about this place is the deco, vintage and country vibes, bears, moose, woody and rustic deco, every little detail filled with an eye for beauty, a great photo spot!

Wow ! What an amazing experience. This place has great fondu options and Exotic meats ! We cooked our meal at our table frying in hot oil and on a hot black stone. Super fun ! A must try in Banff. Yum !!

I had an extraordinary dining experience at The Grizzly House! The diverse menu featuring venison, frog, kangaroo, buffalo, alligator, ostrich, and wild tuna was an adventure for my taste buds. Each dish was prepared impeccably, and the ambiance added to the excitement. The Grizzly House is a must-visit for those seeking unique culinary delights at Banff.

Very cool experience. I had a chicken tortellini soup and the cheese fondue for starters. I then had elk, venison, beef, ostrich, Buffalo and wild boar on the hot stone with their sampling of sauces. Cooking on the hot stone was awesome although beware, the bitter gets EVERYWHERE. My phone, which was on the table, and all our drink cups and napkins were covered in butter grease by the time we were done! This meal was amazing and will definitely go back when next in Banff

The Grizzly House was a must-do experience for your first time in Banff…however, the food itself is fairly lackluster. The good, as I mentioned, was the uniqueness of experience. Choosing what to order, sharing and exploring the fondues with your fellow guests and cooking (or trying to) with the provided hot plates. It was fun, the staff were great and it was very memorable. Now, the food itself seemed a bit overpriced, taste was underwhelming and portion sizes were small. For what we paid per person, we shared what seemed like pretty small portions of vegetable and cheese fondue… the starter Caesar salads were fairly bland, and the house tortellini soup served lukewarm. Following the starters and fondue, we received our 6-7 ounces of protein per person (which felt quite minimal once served)… but as I said, it was fun to cook and eat, so not a wasted experience by any stretch. We had made a reservation, but be prepared to wait until the exact minute your reservation begins. Understandable given the busy nature of the place, but something of note nonetheless, as we had been accustomed to being seated 5-10 minutes prior at most other restaurants. One tip I read that I was happy to have followed: skip your fancy clothes! Due to the hot plate cooking, our table and surroundings collected some cooking grease… nothing to bother us, but we were glad to have known this prior, and dressed accordingly! Thanks for a memorable experience! We had a good time - likely wouldn’t return, but grateful for it nonetheless.

Our server made everything 10times better. British girl Jess? She was absolutely lovely and bubbly. Food was great and great! It was wayyy better than my expectations. My parents loved it!! Rib eye steak was my one pick and dessert was awesome 👏

This is one of the best, if not the best fondue restaurants that I’ve ever visited. The restaurant has been open since 1967 and still looks the same way it did back then. Which is classic and awesome. The food is simply outstanding and all the different fondue options were delicious. They have numerous fondue options so you are definitely likely to find something that you would like. I highly recommend the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue.

This is a good restaurant with an interesting history and culture. The food is very good but on the pricey side, not a big surprise for Banff. My favourite was the chicken tortellini soup, not pictured here but soooo good! Libor was our server, he was so helpful in explaining everything to us. I was really surprised to see Czechvar, you don’t see many Czech beers other than Pilsner Urqill. We would come back.

We did the four course dinner, and it was great. The vegetable fondue is delicious, and we got a large variety of game meats (including some specials like kangaroo) to cook on the hot rock. Everything was delicious, as I am a big fan of eating game meat and other exotic meats.

I've personally never been here before, my friend recommended the place and after lastnight I understand why. Our server was Susan M. And she was the best server I've ever experienced. She was bubbly, personable, extremely knowledgeable, and all around she made our already amazing experience perfect. The restaurant serves wonderful dishes and I recommend you come in a group and try a little bit of everything. The decor of the restaurant gives it a very nice cozy, rustic atmosphere. We enjoyed the fondue but swapped out for hot rocks for our main entrees. As mentioned earlier, Susan M. Was fantastic and she anticipated our needs before we could even ask for a fresh hot rock she was offering to replace them. We tried the house cocktail, gin based, and it wasn't overly sweet but extremely flavourful. We also tried the 3rd tap brown local draft. I was expecting more of a honey brown but it was darker like a Guinness, which wasn't bad at all, but I definitely filled up a bit too much for it. Definitely recommend you choose lighter drinks, like the house cocktail.

The 4 course menu was a great recommendation. I personally recommend to add sauteed mushrooms to the cheese fondue. The service was super fast and helpful in regard to how to do the different types of fondue. Grizzly House already made it on our list where we will go again when back in Banff!

We had a great final meal before leaving banff. Cheese fondue to start. Everyone got different meat. Beef, chicken, prawns were good, but exotic kangaroo was amazing. I preferred the ostrich which was very lean. Some started with soup and salad, all finished with chocolate fondue. Fair selection of cocktails and wine.

I decided to try this restaurant for the first time when we came for my wedding dinner (it was just 4 of us) on August 13th and the food and service was phenomenal!!! All the staff already knew who we were when we arrived and greeted us so warmly! We had a table right next to the window with a great view. Our server was very knowledgeable and amazing, he made the night so great. The restaurant provided some complementary glasses of champagne for us when we first arrived which was a wonderful surprise. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely incredible. Great selections of wines as well. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding dinner. Will definitely be a new favourite of ours when we come to Banff!!

Located in Downtown Banff and the restaurant was easy to find. The menu includes good options for all however unfortunately the quality of food wasn’t very good for the price we paid. But the service from our waiter couldn’t be faulted. He was lovely. What we ordered off the menu: Mains- 2 x New York Striploin cooked medium well Unfortunately, the steak was not cooked to our liking. My husbands steak was medium rare and once the waiter noticed, asked if he wanted it back in the grill! This is a steak no no in our books. They really should of cooked a whole new steak because then it was tough. My steak was as cooked medium and I tolerated it. The hassle back potato wasn’t pleasant either. All in all, we were very disappointed with the food and the expensive price we paid for a terrible meal. I would not recommend this place for a decent meal unfortunately unless they dropped their extravagant prices. Sorry 😞 Would recommend you make a reservation so not to miss out.

My husband and I came here for our Anniversary dinner while in Banff. Service and food were incredible ! Jason was a very knowledgeable friendly server and was so quick to have our drinks filled and plates taken away. We had fresh oysters to try for our first time and they were great! We then had mussels and they were also delicious. My husband and I both had the salmon for our entree and it was the best salmon we have ever had ! Cooked perfect! We finished off with dessert which was the perfect amount of chocolate goodness ! We would love to come back next time we are in Banff celebrating a special occasion !

The decorations and the vibe of the restaurant was very Canadian, we like it very much. However, it seems a bit overpriced for us. A 18oz of steak cost us $78 dollars however the bone is not too small… The duck wings as the appetizer was amazingly delicious, but the hamburger and the salmon were just okay. We saw a lot of people recommended this restaurant on Internet so we decided to give it a try, and now we probably will never come back cause it’s really not worth the price.

The experience I had here was exceptional to say the least. I had the 8oz Alberta Prime Baseball sirloin steak cooked medium-rare with Peppercorn sauce and fries and it was fantastic all around. Glasses of Budweiser beer with a nice quiet ambience inside the restaurant made for a very memorable time here and I would definitely like to come again. The service was kind and attentive with respect. Awesome! Get over here folks because you won't be disappointed ! 👍

Amazing brunch! I got the French toast and it was to die for. The slices of bread were so thick and soft. My fiancé got the farmer’s breakfast and he loved it. Especially the rye bread with homemade jam. We left satisfied and stuffed! The service was great too. We had planned to go to the restaurant across the street but when we found out there was a 40 minute wait we decided to try the maple leaf and we have no regrets!

Amazing restaurant! Amazing taste steak and other food we ordered. Fast and friendly service and would take time to go over menu. Much better stake than in other higher rated restaurant close by. Would come back when in area no doubt. Keep up great job. Cheers

I recommend this place for both lunch and dinner. Parking: The restaurant is close to the parking area for Banff downtown, taking around a few minutes to walk to the restaurant. Also, street parking is available beside the restaurant. Booking: It was not busy during the lunch period, so it is not necessary to book the place in advance. Service: The server is very nice, and he always carries a nice smile on his face. He is kind to recommend sightseeing locations during Banff and Alerbta. Food: I ordered 4 dishes, including The Steakhouse Cheeseburger, Crispy Chicken Burger, Baja Shrimp Tacos, Maple Jalapeño Chicken Wings and Maritime Seafood Chowder. The Burgers and Tacos are excellent to try. The meat inside was juicy and tasteful. Maritime Seafood Chowder is the most impressive among all. It has all kinds of seafood inside, and the soup tastes not too heavy. Restaurant Interior: The seating is comfortable for a family and a group of friends. We sat next to the bar, and the overall decoration was classic Canadian style.

It's located in a historic building King Edward Hotel. The bison steak is so delicious. The dining environment is very classical and elegant.

Amazing!! I don't even know where to begin. We went there for dinner and the food was absolutely delicious! (I miss the cornbread already🤤) Most items were very reasonably priced for the portion size. The restaurant is a very cozy and fun space. The staff are so warm and inviting! Immediately, we were greeted by a very polite host, even the chefs and other staff would gladly engage in conversation if you walked by. As we left, they called to us from across the restaurant to have a great night and stay warm outside. Our waitress, Mara, was absolutely wonderful! Such a genuine and kind person. She was attentive, sweet, and helpful. She gave honest answers to any questions, quickly helped us through the menu, and engaged in cheerful conversation. Even as it got busier, she handled all her tables with the same grace and quality. Anyone is lucky to have Mara as their server and furthermore, I would like to shout out the whole staff! Thank you for the great night Tooloulous! We will definitely be back❤️❤️

This Southern Style restaurant had a good reputation online but delivers only acceptably. The decor is dated and dim, and the policy for our table of 11 made us all arrive on time, which felt inflexible. However the biggest downside was the quality of the food and flavours. The meals ingredients could do with more clarity of flavour and acidity. Our chicken was even cold in the Bayou soup. The Bourbon bun for the beef burger was over burnt. In short, it seems the dishes were hastily prepared or seemed to have been made from one large reheated pot. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and mean well. Though for the prices we paid we had expected more.

HUGE PORTION and we loved it!!! Had to wait for maybe 15-20mins before we get seated... We ordered some pancakes with side of bacon, veggie omelette, apple cinnamon waffles and some eggs Benedict and we enjoyed all of them. Great service as well and pretty good ambience when we dined.

We loved the cornbread here so much we came back another time during our short stay in Banff. Other than the cornbread, the Etouffe was our favourite! The wait wasn't too long both times; each time we were given a buzzer and we could wander the block to pass the time. Service was good; the waitstaff really nice.

Food was delicious. We were seated immediately and service was fairly quick. Waitresses and staff were very helpful with some allergy concerns. Portions were a bit small however, depending on the dish. My snow crab plate was delicious, but I left still hungry.

Came here for brunch after reading positive reviews... And yes, those reviews were very accurate. It was a bit of a wait today (Easter weekend after all), but it was only 30min so understandable 👍 The atmosphere is pretty cool in here and the food was amazing. Priced within reason, good sized portions and tasted amazing. I had the Acadian BLT and the Fried green tomatoes that come on it... Wow good 👍👍 We also had the "Starv'n Marvin" which is essentially a steak sandwich made their way and it was really good too. Would definitely recommend coming here anytime. One standout feature is the have a hot sauce area, many to choose from and some of them are pretty spicy. Thanks for the great service, great atmosphere, and killer good food 👍👌👍

Was my first time to this establishment. Our food was delicious! But our waiter Sunny? Was awesome, hands down made our time here remembering. Took 3 kids here they had a great time too. Nice kids menu with good prices! Had the frog legs as an appetizer kids loved them! Drinks were great! Wife had the Bellini was awesome. If you are in town and want some fun Cajun food come here!

It's YES! If you wonder if you should go, you already have your answer. Just prepare to be unable to move for next couple of hours :) It's a small, cool place with Louisiana spirit. Lots of gluten free options (basically the same as for anyone else). The portions are huge, but everything is super tasty, and has that homemade feel to it. Even the waffles were nice, light and fluffy. Just... go and enjoy! Oh you might wait for a bit to get seated, even on the weekdays, but it's totally worth it. We were also told once that the wait is an hour and it turned out to be 30 minutes so be nearby.

Get here early. We waited 15 min at 9 am. It was 45 min by the time we left. Staff was great. Place was clean and the food was awesome! My wheat toast was buttery. The omelets were tasty. May come back a few more times this week. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Really enjoyed our meal at Tooloulous! The service was prompt & we were seated with drinks within the first 15minutes. The food was exceptional, a nice generously portioned serving which was seasoned very well. Tooloulous made for a great lunch stop whilst walking the streets of Banff, and I would happily go again!

Magnificent view! What a place to enjoy your dinner with loved ones. Our waitress is very friendly and she provides a great service! However, the food here is only ok, pork chop is over cooked.

This has got to be one of the best places to eat in Banff! We were served by none other than the Australian Ambassador himself-- Luke!! Hailing all the way from Perth, this gentleman was attentive, gracious, and truly enhanced the dining experience. Standout items include the house bread, the Sky Salad, bison, and salmon. A must try! Recommend budgeting no more than an hour outside of dinner to explore the peak of Sulphur Mountain. Don't allow too much time, as they won't let you down on the gondola any earlier than your scheduled time!

Make sure you book your tickets in advance! I do find the price for food high, but its banff and you are mostly paying for the experience of eating on top of a mountain. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles, it was delicious. The strawberry salad is also good, especially when you add the chicken. Server was v/ nice. Overall, pricey but for us worth it for the overall experience.

My husband and I had a fantastic lunch here for our anniversary. The food was great and the service was phenomenal! Morgan was very attentive, she surprised us with anniversary chocolates on dessert and champagne! She made our trip even better. Not to mention the views are excellent!!

Dinner a la carte made a reservation a month in advance. We did not get a window seat. We were still very content with where we were. However if you are going there for the view, don't reserve with a large party as most window tables are for 2 people only. Going up the gondola is so cool!!! There is a speaker inside talking about what event is happening at the top. It's a short ride up and once the announcement is done, you do get nice zen music and then silence to enjoy the view in peace to the top. There is a walk to the other peak and some outdoor decks on multiple floors to see the views from as many angles as possible. With nice signs naming each peak you see around with heights. Now about the restaurant. Wonderful menu! Great options for all food restrictions. Delicious. Good portions. Lovely cocktail selection. I do not recommend for large parties (more than 4) especially if you want a window seat.

This place is amazing! We made a reservation a couple weeks in advance because the lunch time slots fill up pretty quickly. The view is stunning and the food was really good too! Our server Maxwell was so nice and professional as well. The sangria was really good, and the chocolate cake was very moist!

Unbeatable atmosphere and location. Let's face it, that's why you're really eating here. That alone is worth the price of admission, as they say. Try to get window seating for maximum impact. Would advice to reserve in advance during peak season, just in case. Among the food, I would highly suggest the Chicken & Waffle, nicely crispy without much grease. The pulled Bison bun was decent, although I wish there was a worthy sauce accompanying it. Clam chowder was just ok, not bad. Overall I would suggest going just for the experience!

What a treat! We showed up late afternoon without a booking and Georgia kindly guided us to a beautiful table by the windows with a stunning view. Luke was our server and was super polite, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. He proceed to suggest and deliver a fantastic meal and experience. We had the corn ravioli and the orange blossom for dessert. Both were very well balanced and, in my opinion, fairly priced for where we were and the quality. There was also a featured drink they served which was really special. Once in a lifetime feel and truly a pleasure to the palate.

One of the best places for lunch or dinner in Banff. Reservation well in advance is required. The food was delicious, we ordered two seafood chowders, an angus beef burger and a mushroom toast for two people. It was more than enough. We completed it with an orange mousse that was amazingly good (see the photos). The entire menu is also in the photos. The service was also great and the views of the mountains are second to none. You can access by a gondola ($69 round trip) or by a moderate 2h trail called Sulphur Mountain Trail (5.2km).

Such a nice view out there, the food was awesome, and so with staff. The chef even came to me and asked about the food. Truly enjoyed the view. It’s ideal for partners and even families too. I think I could spend hours there just staring at the mountains. Very wonderful atmosphere! I will surely be back!

Absolutely stunning views! The food was delicious- we had the bison and ravioli. Great wine selection too! Our server, Morgan had great recommendations as well and really made our experience special!

This was our favorite restaurant we ate at in Banff. Our waitress Victoria was great and very helpful. The food was delicious, and it was such a great experience taking the gondola up sulphur mountain, walking the boardwalk trail, and then eating a delicious dinner as the sun set over the mountains put the window. We particularly loved the seafood chowder and the bison steak with mashed yams.

Had a great evening here Aug 20th. The food was great. We got the seafood chowder, beef, bison, and chocolate for dessert. Our server Lisa was also exceptional. She was enthusiastic and attentive throughout the busy night!
