This place amazed me! Building a modern building architecture over historical attraction. In this I mean, they built building over the ancient bath, that is accessible on Ground floor outside. The amount of history and knowledge given by this place,we did not have an audio guided tour and it was still great. The museum is fairly large it would take a couple of hour to walk through it all! So go early! The layout of the museum we're very well thought and designed. The view, in which ever side or whatever level is only an addition the museum great knowledge. Whether you do this first before or after the Acropolis, it would be great information to then consolidate your knowledge about the Acropolis.

Very well put together and definitely a must see, after seeing the video presentations the museum has, you feel the only thing that would make this better is if England gave back the Elgin Marbles. I’ve seen them in London, but I feel they would have much stronger meaning if they were in Athens. When you go, definitely visit the dig site under the museum, to say this museum was well thought out is an understatement.

A beautiful modern museum, full of history and with a great atmosphere. The exhibits are priceless, of course, and the way they are presented is fabulous, giving immediately the feel of how/why/where they were situated in antiquity. The number one feature of this museum is the location and the 360º view around it. It is located under the Acropolis and the big windows are giving a nice view of the surrounding centre of Athens city. The restaurant on the balcony is of very high culinary standards and the view is superb. A "must go" place if you visit Athens.

Wonderful museum. All the ancient treasure but with a modern architecture design. Love the underground ruins. Bookstore is great! Recommend to come early (morning - before lunch time) or later in the afternoon to avoid large groups. Strongly recommend to book tickets online prior to visit.

The Acropolis Museum is my all-time favorite museum. It’s down from the Acropolis and the museum’s glass walls provide stunning views. You can purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid the line—or even purchase them on your phone while you’re standing in line. Both outside floors and some of the first floor inside are glass and you can see a dig below. There are four floors. A reading room. An outdoor cafe overlooking the Acropolis. And two gift shops. The museum captures the airy feel of the Acropolis itself and it’s best viewed when it’s not terribly crowded. I go every year I’m in Athens to visit my favorite displays. Be sure to look up outside the entrance/exit doors to see the statue of Athena as an owl. It’s on top of a metal pole outside. Beware of aggressive pigeons if you sit outside at the cafe—but dealing with them is absolutely worth it for the view. Also, keep track of your ticket because you’ll likely be asked to produce it again when you leave the cafe.

A must visit in Athens! I’d say, even for people not visiting museums on a regular it is worth to visit this museum! There is a big area underneath the building itself, which you can have a look at for free. The single ticket for the museum itself is 15 Euros. There are 3 floors full of old ancient tools, vases, figures, statues, parts of pillars. It’s an amazing collection of antique parts they’ve found and reconstructed. It’s also worth mentioning they’ve set all the parts in the same way the old Parthenon is constructed. So on the top floor you will find all the parts from the roof of the Parthenon. This was stunning, to see how wide the roof was and how big the parts and monuments were. We visited the museum on a Friday late afternoon around 5pm (open until 10pm on Fridays), there was no waiting line on the ticket booth. But we saw lot of people waiting in a long queue on Sunday early afternoon, be aware of that! We had a look at a lot of things and it took us around 2 hours for it.

Fantastic amazing modern architecture absolutely loved the museum which was placed protectively above the ancient ruins below. Lunch was gorgeous sitting on the cantilevered canopy above the entrance and below the Acropolis. The artifacts enclosed are beautifully and imaginatively displayed. Definitely worth a visit when in Athens. Awesome!

Highly recommend this place to visit in Athens! The museum is designed to be visitor friendly and in modern style. The statues were vivid and many of them are with color, and reveals lots of interesting and surprising facts. I did not expect Athena is with red hair since her impression in my mind is simply made of marbles and in white. Besides the exhibitions, there is a fabulous rooftop bar on the second or third floor, on which you can have a good view of the Acropolis! Besides, the gift shop can be a good shopping place. The small statues, clothe handbags and the dictionaries are made delicately!

Great Museum. I really enjoyed the visit, some information: you are not able to eat or drink while walking around but you can eat or order something at the restaurant on the 3d floor. The museum was very interesting and i would recommend visiting the acropolis, before going here because it helps you imagine what it would have looked like thousands of years ago. There is a cloak room just before the start of the museum so you can put your bags or coats there if you do not want to carry them around while walking. Great Museum and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful execution of this museum! Really enjoyed it. An hour and half is perfect. If you’re there in the summer recommend it as a break from the heat too. Win, win! We brought tickets online. Recommend doing so. Saves time and energy.

This was an amazing experience! Many audio guides will just read the plaques in front of the artifacts so make sure to find more in-depth ones if that’s more your style. Be sure to check the excavation area under the museum and watch the video at the end of the path, it was very information and amazing to see how they did all they did for the museum!

Buy the combined ticket online. You then just scan or show it at the entrance. Highly recommended! I didn't wait at all.. As for the Acropolis - it's definitely worth it, most impressive and interesting structure, however not my favourite of the top sites. It is great, no doubt, but the crowd is unimaginable, thus you can't really enjoy peaceful exploration. The top site can be explored in about an hour, HOWEVER (!!) be careful not to exit prematurely or you'll have to buy another ticket, depending on where you enter from. There are two entrances: on the top, and from the main street in front of the big glass museum. You should take the lower entrance and ask how to make your way up. I took the upper one, explored the Acropolis, exited, and was not allowed to go in from the other way. And I didn't see a way down through the Acropolis, but... oh well. The view is also good, the structure is in reconstruction, so the best thing about this part were the few statues.

The oldest acropolis in the world. Old, majestic, incredible, magical. I had no idea how this place would swallow me up. We were lucky that there were significantly fewer visitors that day. Some photos look like we are alone on the acropolis. I will never forget this visit.

Truly just a breathe taking experience! Healthy walk with beautiful vegetation all around. Spectacular views! - you can pretty much see all of Athens just stretching out in every direction around you. This place really just left me feeling full of wonderment looking at the beauty and craftsmanship of the marble columns! I could have spent hours up there just relaxing and taking in the views of Athens. Give yourself a minimum of 1+ hours to wonder about, this is not an experience you want to rush through.

Very clean. It was busy, but easy to gain entrance and explore. Wear shoes with good support and traction. The marble surfaces can be extremely slippery and uneven. I would set aside about 3 hours to see this sight.

It was a great place to visit. The entrance fee is 10€/person. You should know that those of you who are less than 25 years old, from any European area, can go in for free. Let them know, otherwise, they won’t ask you about it. The place wasn’t crowded at all (early February).

It's the top place to visit in Greece and for a reason. All the history, the place itself, the constructions, the temples the theaters. Its absolutely a must do. Really enjoyed the view from the top. I would highly recommend to go early to beat the crowds. Its too many tourists and visitors. And it's worth it.

Great views and beautiful structures, just some information DO NOT go in the MORNING you might think that you want to get there early but don’t, so does everyone else that is one of the busiest times. You aren’t able to eat at the Monuments and i would recommend to bring extra water. over all a beautiful monument and i enjoyed visiting. PS if you are under 25 and from the EU you can get free tickets if you show your passport.

One of the most intriguing and iconic places. With a rich history and "how the heck this has been built", so interesting to visit this place. It gets very hot during the day so it's better to walk early in the morning or at sunset. A great sunset view across the museum. A must see place.

Good iconic place to visit, can be very busy but when we went (mid afternoon) it was quiet (and very hot - there isn't much shade here). A lot of steps to climb so you need to be fairly mobile.

Amazing site with such a great history and beautiful views of the city. It definitely worths dedicating some time to visit the place, see the Parthenon and learn about its history through the years. Tip: Free entrance every first Sunday of the month.

Although it was extremely windy when I visited, the views and being at a site where so much important history took place was well worth the effort. Hold on to the handrails if you need to, but if you’re in Athens, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this majestic place!

Can't say much except that this place was absolutely amazing. I lived every minute of it. The crowds were huge but that did not curve my interest or excitement one bit. Pack some water and maybe some sun block it's hot with pretty much no shade. Put your good traction shoes on as some of the steps can be very slippery even when dry.

Amazing experience. Well worth the visit. Busy day, but despite the amount of people here the crowds were managed very well. No problems taking photos. If you have luggage there is a free cloakroom to store bags.

Beautiful buildings and stunning views, some works going on but you can still visit everything. Definitely worth visiting if you're an EU citizen u25 as entrance is free and if you're not EU, it's reduced to 10 euros. Huge crowds and some waiting time to get in so be warned.

Great place but very busy, buy tickets in advance which are 20e per adult if you are from the EU and kids go free. I would recommend getting a guide to visit and go as early as possible to avoid many people and heavy sun.

Amazing that this is still here after all this time. Walking through the ruins and seeing all of the architectural details combined with an awesome view of the city. We truly enjoyed this timeless treasure.

Very pretty. It's currently under renovation on one side, but everywhere is fine and great for photos. Marble floors are quite slippery, so I'd advise (especially if travelling with kids) to avoid during rainy days. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing to see in-person and that it's still standing. Definitely go at your own pace and lots of areas for pictures. Warning ⚠️ it's mostly marble walk stones and they are very slippery.

It was very warm- which meant it wasn’t crowded. Don’t go behind the ropes, don’t touch allow the world to enjoy this historic site up close and personal. Even with scaffolding in areas the Parthenon was very accesible visually.

Went back to the Motherland in July (the same week as the heat wave). Didn’t matter had a superb time even with the crowds. FYI - water is super expressive inside the Parthenon so bring your own or pay up. It is amazing what the Athenians were able to build and being able to walk around and absorb the ancient history is truly inspiring. I was able to get some early morning photos which added to the beauty. I did not buy tickets in advance and I think it only set me back 15 minutes. FYI - If you are a student or you are traveling with kids bring your kid’s passport to get the student discount. This is to show the age. No negotiation whatsoever. My son is 16 and had his student ID. Didn’t matter, no passport, no discount. So, I had to pay the full price for him.

Greece as we know is the epicenter of all the major events in the history of europe and this place makes u feel the same. The ruins still has so much life in it that it oozes the history out. This place goes restoration from time to time and may hamper the photographic experience. Rest once in a lifetime experience with beautiful view of Athens city.

Incredible standing amongst such history and amazing architecture. The views of the city are great. Very hot as there are literally 2 trees once you have gone to the top. Best times to go are early morning or late afternoon as the temps are cooler and the structures themselves provide shade.

It is magnificent and grand. But it is out in the sun. If you are going in summer, be careful of the heat and people - tins of them. Now, don't let this discourage you, you should go either in the morning or afternoon but if you want to learn absolutely everything there is to learn about this place then you should visit the museum. It is the perfect place to learn all about Parthenon. The view of Athens from the top of Acropolis is beautiful.

We quite enjoyed our stay here. We came as a family and already had our tickets booked. We also had an audio tour guide booked trough get your Guide. That worked quite good and we were able to spent a nice afternoon looking at the expositions. The museum is quite big and is lovely organized. The small garden was quite lovely as well.

One of the best museums i’ve ever visited! A must see for those who love archeology, ancient greek and/or art. Such and impressive collection of mainly statues! This museum offers you a trip trough the history of Greece, having pieces from every time period. It really shows the progression of art trough the ages and how the Greeks ended up with their iconic style. When in Athens make sure to visit!

I just had a short visit intend to return soon then will give a update. Visit was fantastic no bags allow inside. No problem they have a holding cell for it😁. Don't leave your phone you need it to take photos. I really enjoyed it and was surprised by the volume of the little I've see.

Wow! We went on a rainy day with my family who was visiting Athens. I honestly loved it. I think I will go back. Tickets are free if you are under 24(or 25/26 can't remember) I enjoyed staying there, they actually have a great variety of statues and even a greater collection of gold objects. It is all amazingly organized and they even have an egyptian collection too. I am literally amazed! This is one of the best museums i have ever Visited. I Visited quite a few especially when I went to London in Uk. Great! Very great!

Wow. If there is one thing to do in Athens besides visiting the Acropolis, it is this museum. This is filled with tons of rare artifacts and knowledge about the entire history of Greece. You can see beautiful statues starting from Ancient Greek all the way up to the Roman period. They have an incredible display of items that easily should take you several hours to review in full. I also highly suggest going to their cafe at the end for some excellent coffee.

This was a great museum. The flow was amazing. It casually directed you through the entire museum with arrows on the ground. The staff here is incredibly helpful and ready to answer questions to their ability. I would recommend going on your own without a guide because the group sizes were very large and seemed to take away from the amazing pieces of history. I'd highly recommend visiting this museum and stopping by the cafe downstairs. It has a lovely atmosphere and some historical artifacts within it.

Interesting museum with lots of cool artifacts and iconic statues! Bag was taken and held at the free coat check but we could keep water with us (definitely bring water). Bring your passport or other ID if travelling with teens - may qualify for a cheaper price if you can prove they’re below 18! Only down side was that many areas were restricted to tours only.

We spent around 3 hours. 12€ during summer and 6€ during winter, but check the website, because there are days and special occasions with free entrance.. It is worth a visit and captures the entire ancients history of greece with marvellous exhibits.

Fabulous building, an easy walk away from Omonia Square. Once inside, the sculpture and statuary are nothing short of astonishing in many cases and the jewellery and gold vessels are stunning. If you're in any wayinterested in the cultural side of Athens, this should be on your list of visits to be made.

This was quite a beautiful museum. It costs €12 per adult, students under 25yrs are €5. It took us about 4 hours to work through the whole two story building. It has so many beautiful statues, weapons, vases and jewelry going all the way back to 3000 BC.

No trip to Greece is complete without this museum. This museum is worth every penny of the entrance fee. It is well lighted, chronologically laid out with plaques that explained what you were looking at. Lots of statues and armor and pottery of different eras.There was so much to look and all so interesting at this museum that you would need several hours. You will not be bored!

We went 6 of September and outside was big line but we wait maybe 10 min tops to get inside and buy the ticket (12 euros 💶). It has 2 floors and in the basement you can find cafeteria(you can enter also from 2 floor and enjoy the view of very pretty cute small garden where people sit, talk and enjoy their food and coffee ☕️) and gift store 🏬 Museum itself very nice but not big so I think you will spend 2 hours tops there! All well organized and clean :) outside you can find small park with lots of green parrots 🦜:))))

Great historical place. Only 10 euros for adult admission, which came with an audio explanation for 12 locations. Each audio location was only about 3 minutes, so it was exact, concise, not overwhelming. It took about an hour to see it all. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the Olympics, past and present.

I can't believe that I could stand on The Stadium of The first modern Olympic Games! The Stadium was built in 1896 but It's still a very strong and hard place! Very clean and keeps it so well. Visitors can climb to the top of the floor and real-see the Olympic logo within one foot! The little Stadium museum inside the playground where you can find many Olympic torches together!

An incredible sight. It ignites the imagination. No matter where you stand it has a great view. It was built in the 4th Century BC and it has hosted many Olympic games ever since. There is a little museum here that displays nearly all the Olympic torches and a tiny little gift shop inside. This place inspires you to become an athlete. I definitely recommend a visit here.

Astonishing and wonderful place! This is truly a raw and rugged landmark of ancient times and worth an engaged visit. It boasts incredibly panoramic views of the entire stadium and the history of it is very palpable. To stand where the Olympics of countless years past were held, is truly both thrilling and wondrous. The stadium is great for pictures as well, and you get bountiful views of other classical Athens landmarks on all sides of your view. Truly recommended to visit and enjoy! This is beautiful Greece and Athens at its wonderful best!

I have no words to express this fantastic monument. I am grateful that I got a chance to walk and see the place where the first Olympics took place. This stadium is more than 2300 years old but looks newly constructed as it is fully built with marble that never ages. There is a 10 euros fee per person to get in, but it is nothing compared to what you get out of it. They give you an audio guide when you submit your ID card temporarily.

Really interesting, and I was a bit surprised with how much I enjoyed it due to the great free audio guide. Interesting history and kept in beautiful, clean condition. We went at about 5.30pm to avoid the heat and this was good. No queue at this time, for tickets or audio guide, and less than 30 people around (June 2023). Reduced admission with showing student card, even international. We spent about 40 minutes there, which is enough time with the audio guide and still seeing the hall with previous olympic torches.

Interesting place with rich history! Though it wasn’t the highlight of my day i still enjoyed my visit! I would recommend climbing up on the right side when you enter to peek over the edge to get this nice view of the Acropolis! (last photo in this review) There is also a small museum that you should visit! There is probably some shade and you can buy drinks and ice cream at the entrance.

Very nice visit thanks to the audio-guides (available in different languages) who explains you more about this amazing place. As a sport fan it was a must do visit and it was lovely, you also have a little shop inside and a little "museum" with some posters and torches of the past Olympics. I would also recommend to go to the top of the stadium to have an amazing view of the Acropolis and the city of Athens. Only negative point was that we couldn't go on the track because they are preparing an event..

Oh my, what an atmosphere, what a place. Audio guide device is included and I recommend you take one and follow the narrator, such history is revealed and fascinating facts about the place that you would otherwise overlook. There are no 'off-limits' areas and you can sit in one of two pairs of royal thrones as you please. Be warned all that polished marble makes for heat in a sunny day so take it easy and hydrate. It's quite a sight and you can't help but imagine the great spectacle of the early Olympians competing there. Cheap entry and no time limit, there is a small Olympic museum up the atmospheric gladiator entrance tunnel carved through rock and marble, worth a visit, I'll leave the audio guide to tell you about the naked dancing maidens 😉

Massive. The steps were tiring, but making it to the top was very satisfying. A unique experience; we climbed to the top then walked full circle from start to end of the stadium. We went in the middle of the day so it was hot. Price was okay, and the place wasn’t crowded.

Awesome place, with so much history about the Olympic games. It is incredible how this stadium could sit more than 60 thousand people. Right now it is restored and it looks pretty similar to the original one with a few exceptions. There is also a museum which is included in the ticket, which you need to be careful not to miss because it's a bit hidden. In there you will find even more history and most of the Olympic torches from over the years. Overall, definitely a must visit.

A place where locals eat. Not a tourist spot. Food is spicy and full of flavor. Beware the spicy sojouk is actually the hottest food we tried in Greece. Cooking is home style with multiple ingredients coming together in complex flavors. Get a table on the roof it is up a few flight of stairs but the atmosphere is great. Service is attentive. There is a deli on the ground floor where you can get some of the meats to take home.

Felt like family, the staff was exceptional. Food and wine was excellent! Recommending to all of my travel friends. I had the spicy fried cheese, the fried eggs, and the sweet wine, but I envied the meat cuts platter.

Lovely place! Once seated, they offer a welcome plate of sliced ham. After you finish your meal, they give you a homemade dessert. The food is great, the staff is all very nice and friendly. I am so glad I came here!

Really great Greek authentic Greek food for a very good price. We ordered two starters and two main courses, which was more than enough for the two of us. The service was very friendly and the food came quickly. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone visiting Athens!

Perfect place to eat. Food portion size is perfect, atmosphere is very lively, and the taste of the food phenomenal. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant, vine leaves, and the saganaki (fried cheese). They give you a free dessert of yogurt, honey, and carrots and it’s wonderful. Baklava is so tasty. Wow!

Delicious sharing plates in a real locals feeling place. Got both a starter and a dessert on the house which is fantastic. Lovely staff, and has its own deli too! Stumbled on it whilst looking around the market area and so glad we did as it feels truly authentic

Simply delicious! The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks given it expands into an alley at the back. Service is very friendly - a bit slow at first but then the food all comes out super fast. The stuffed vine leaves and the dessert with yogurt were my top favorites. You can definitely eat your fill without breaking the bank and get some really homey flavours!

One of the single best places to get food in Athens. The food was sublime, the service was excellent, welcoming and warm and the overall atmosphere was buzzing. When we come back to Athens, we will 100% be back (with a +1 ;))

We were welcomed on arrival by a friendly server who offered multiple seating locations . We ordered stuffed vine leaves and the cold cuts platter both of which I would recommend if you have the appetite. We also shared the beef with potatoes and veg/chillies. This was even better than anticipated. The beef was tender and flavoursome with the veg and seasonings. A great natural organic wine selection and attentive staff. I will recommend this to any friends visiting Athens. Thanks for a lovely meal.

We saw this place recommended on social media and given the wildly positive reviews on Google, made a point to stop here for dinner in our itinerary. We ordered four dishes - can’t quite remember the names but the pictures are below - and out of the four, one was superb and the other three was decent. Service was quick, though somewhat impersonal - understandable given the large volume of diners here. That said, they did accommodate two unannounced guests for us (we booked a table for two but ended up being a group of four), for which we were very appreciative. The decor was charming amidst a very noisy ambiance. Overall, it was a perfectly nice place for dinner, but that was about it. We just didn’t find too much that was special about this place that warranted the rave reviews.

The best dinner we had in Athens! Busy, frenetic restaurant and deli counter that has traditional and delicious Greek and middle eastern dishes. Great selection of Greek wines and beers too. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish we had discovered it on our first night rather than our last. Everything was so good we over ordered but the bill was exceptionally reasonable (a fraction of what we paid at less amazing restaurants).

I went 3 times during a 4-day stay in Athens in May. Different than your usual Greek menu with recipes from other Greek historical areas. The crowd is a good mix of locals and tourists. Even their "classical" Greek dishes, like taramosalata or dolmadakia, are made in a special, unique way. I'll surely go back when in Athens. The place itself is very pretty.

Marvelous! 🤩 My favorite restaurant in Athens! We had an appetizer-dinner which was delicious and satisfying made of thought-out, homemade food from the buns to the fig marmalade that came with the cheese. We had an incredible salad, and yummy yummy buns with mushrooms. The staff was very nice and the music and atmosphere were lovely. Prices are fair too! Can’t wait to go back!

This is the best restaurant in Athens. The service is amazing, the food is amazing and the entire team is friendly. I loved the port tomahawk. 5 stars I wish I could even give them more. Barbara was our server and she is amazing. You want to eat from here trust me! You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend Lithos Tavern.

The best sea food I’ve ever eaten! The staff was really nice. They were checking if we need something a few times during our stay. The localization is good. We were sitting outside and was really comfortable due to special heater lamp. At the end we’ve got a shot of tasty liquor. Highly recommend!

A brilliant service with lovely outdoor seatings available. I only had Lithos salad as I wasn't so hungry. I didn't find anything special though. I would have preferred Greek salad.

Lithos salad was the best salad we ever had in a restaurant. Veg. Risotto was really good I loved it, pork chop was my friends dish, he liked it generally 8 out of 10 for pork lets say. Generally it was really good, service was fast, recommending here

Food was 4.8, tasty local greek, red wine was nice. Rissot, Musaka, Millefeuille were great. All Staffs are not wearing mask properly, talking over our plates, hygenic reason, rating 3.

Located in the bustling neighbourhood of Psryrri, a place buzzing with people, Lithos tavern offers delicious food served in generous portions by welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, multilingual waiters and waitresses. There is plenty of patio seating to enjoy your food. It caters to special dietary needs and it is great value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

I found the restaurant through looking for a restaurant in Central Athens for dinner tonight and glad I did. Our server Lee was lovely to chat to and very professional. The food was great and having a cat by us was an added bonus.

Highly rated on trip advisor so went to try it out. Nice Greek food with lots of options! Simple little restaurant with outside seating. Located in the touristy area of town so prices are higher. Waiters were friendly and accommodating. Overall feel it’s worth the try for a good selection of greek food. Really enjoyed the Shrimp special sauce.

Small place so there may be a bit of a wait, but it is absolutely worth it! The staff is friendly and ocean recommend the freshest fish of the day. Service was great and the food was amazing! We got the fried calamari, the Greek salad, the tzatziki and pita, and the fish of the day -which came with veggies and lemon roasted potatoes! Literally some of the best food I had in Athens! 100 percent recommend!

Absolutely loved it! Probably the best fish I have ever eaten (and I love and eat a lot of fish!) Unfortunately we do not remember our waiter's name but he was amazing and took such excellent care of our table. We ordered the fish of the day special (grouper) and I have never been so satisfied with a waiter's suggestion. Ot was fresh and grilled to perfection!😋👍🏿 I can not recommend this restaurant enough. If I lived in Athens I would go there all the time. Awesome!🤩

Awesome place for dinner. The ownership and all the waitstaff are very accommodating and warm towards the customers. Literally can’t get over how warm and welcoming everyone was. You can tell that they care a great deal about what they do and the food they serve. The owner treated us like royalty. We found a table inside and had some apps while we waited for a table on the patio. All the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. Highly recommend this family owned restaurant. Plus the food was delicious, I had the lamb and my friends got the seafood pasta. The dessert was excellent as well.

Lovely experience to try out traditional Greek food. The staff is so friendly and warm. Food is fantastic with some of the amazing chef's specials. Each dish we at from appetizers to dessert were simply superb and delicious. Highly recommend their feta appetizer with honey and sesame. Loved their pita with dips as well as some of unique chef's special. Cheesecake was heaven!

My other half came here a few years prior and had a great experience so we came here for dinner when we visited Athens in May 2022. Food was very lovely, filling, and bang for your buck! Location’s close to Acropolis so you’ll get a view of it lit up at night on your way to this restaurant. Staff were accommodating, and the atmosphere was very nice. Would love to visit again when we come back to Athens and try other food in their menu!

A good small restaurant on the plaka that serves traditional Greek fare. It’s an enjoyable restaurant with friendly service and good food. We sat on the front patio which was very nice and our server was extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel at home. We had a very good Greek salad with pita bread, and excellent lamb shank recommended by our server and a moussaka. The lamb is apparently cooked for seven hours and falls off the bone. It’s served with boiled potatoes that were delicious. The moussaka was not great as it tasted dried out and we were disappointed as a result. The moussaka is advertised as some of the best and the restaurant should do a better job ensuring it is fresh. Overall while not perfect a very nice and enjoyable lunch.

The food was absolutely delicious! We were a party of 3 and ordered the aubergine dip, greek salad, fried calamari and vegetarian moussaka. We were given a refreshing fruit salad at the end. Everything was so fresh and tasty! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, fresh and excellent quality Greek food!

This place was supposed to have the best moussaka in Athens and I was not disappointed. It was the most delicious I have ever eaten. The other dishes (saganaki, pita and dessert) were also really tasty. The food came very quickly, the staff was totally friendly (dessert was on the house) and the portions were good. The prices are also good for the location.

Go here!! The best traditional Greek food we had on our trip. The hospitality is especially amazing. We spent 2 hours here and loved every minute. We got the special shrimp, grilled feta with honey, and the Greek plate for 4 - everything was SO delicious. They gave us a complimentary cheesecake at the end. 5 stars all around!

Get there early to secure a table and you will not be disappointed. Large servings and so good. The roasted lamb was one of the best meals I’ve ever had and the service is over-the-top. You’ll leave smiling.

Loved the food so much, we ate here twice. The dishes are very filling. The bread and olive paste given to you at the start is delicious, as is the orange syrup cake they give you after your meal. The stuffed tomato & pepper are vegetarian/vegan as there is no mince meat in it. Prices are cheap. There are restrooms available inside at the back of the restaurant.

Great place for a meal. The prices are super acceptable (around 9€ for a moussaka) for the location. The restaurant is nice inside with two floors and they give a surprise dessert for free - the traditional orange and olive oil cake. Nice staff

Excellent greek restaurant in Athens! Perfectly located for lunch/dinner in between tourist activities! We really liked the interior design, very greek place, and the dishes were excellent. We went for a Greek salad (6.8€) and a chicken souvlaki (9.6€) with a Greek local draft beer. Prices are quite affordable and I love that they say in the menu what ingredients are coming from frozen products. Menu attached from today 7th April 2022. Good food and good service. I ordered octopus and a Greek beer. As a starter they offered a bread with oregano and olive oil, plus olive tapenade (So delicious). however they don't tell you in advance that the bread and water which they give you at the beginning is not for free and you will have to pay for it. I didn't complain and the price for the items weren't expensive, but I would like to be told about the extra cost before they served it.

I would give this place 4.5 as the portions were huge and it was tasty. The moussaka was very good. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is the sausage & meatball was a bit on the salty side for me (that’s a personal taste) and it was a bit chilly inside as the door is left open. Overall the service was good and very good value for money.

100% recommended. The food portion is big and price is very reasonable. The food taste is delicious as well. They even provide free mineral water, bread and baklava. Staff Service is perfect. Definitely recommend to try if you visit Athens.

The restaurant was recommended by Maria from the soap shop a few doors away. We arrived around 4pm. Was told by Maria to look for George. The place was quiet and it was easy to get a table. We sat at the covered courtyard at the back of the restaurant. They were very friendly when we arrived but very slow in taking orders. We ordered lamb cooked in parchment paper and some dips. We didn't really like the food. But we got a dessert on the house which was delicious.

We got very satisfied with the dinner. We ordered fried zucchini, fried feta cheese and grilled octopus. All food was delicious! Also the staff (or maybe boss?) was so nice to us that offered free small drinks and free cake. He also told us that we can ask for his help during our trip here. Such a wonderful experience in Greece!

Little restaurant decorated with interesting objects and very pretty lights, which made for a warm ambiance. Service was prompt and friendly, food was tasty and came in good portions. They even brought us some cake on the house at the end!

Its easy to get lost in the restaurants of Athens but we're happy to have stumbled across this restaurant! We were getting a bit overwhelmed with the crowds but the waitstaff of this restaurant immediately welcomed us in and took care of us. I ordered the grilled salmon and my husband got the veal kempap. Both meals were delicious! They even surpised us with a little dessert before we paid the bill. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent dinner at Maiandros during our vacation in Greece. The staff was friendly and the food was great! The waiter was especially nice to our 6 year old daughter, and even brought her a dessert at the end. Thank you for the great experience!

I think this restaurant is a bit overrated. First of all the restaurant is next to the ATV on a lane way, it’s quite crowded with lots of people walking by while you are enjoying the meal. I have eaten other Greek salad, the portion seems smaller than others and not the best I have. The seafood was okay. Price is reasonable. I think you will like it if you haven’t had better before.

Absolutely delicious! Octopus was fresh, light and tasty. Eggplant was scrumptious! I wish I could eat this meal twice if I had room! Excellent service and very friendly staff. Highly recommend eating here.

Two fabulous meals here. First on the rooftop, was very busy and server did an amazing job and gave an excellent service, food was so good we came back! Second time we were inside with another server but yet again fabulous service and food! A favourite of ours was the saganaki and feta in oven (pictured). Wish we were staying longer as we’d definitely come back again!

Came here specifically for the mixed grill platter and was not disappointed at all. Juicy, flavoursome meat, not oily or greasy, just perfect for two people. Service was friendly and wonderful also! We'll be visiting again to try the seafood platter :D thank youuu!

Prices have gone up really fast in the last few months, so it's possible to get there and see that they have soared again after this review. Even though I loved everything (the simpathy of the people, the quality and taste of the food, the ambience of the space) I can't give it 5* precisely because I'm considering it maybe a bit overpriced. Nonetheless, the location couldn't be more central (just behind Monastiraki Square) and right by the side of a metro station. I tried 'kebab politiko' and it was very good.

EVERYONE SHOULD COME HERE!!! The staff is so kind and generous and the food was great! We sat outside and watched the sun go down, a perfect start to our vacation in Athens. I would definitely recommend and will be returning!

Five stars hands-down. We were walking around after a long day touring Athens on foot, admittedly early for the local dinner (think: 1730h), and most of the restaurants were empty. This place was not, which was the main attraction. For completely reasonable prices, we were rewarded with an absolutely fantastic meal of traditional Greek cuisine. Service was efficient considering there were two servers for the entire restaurant. My parents ended up chatting with the host and waiter and they were extremely nice. Souvlaki, grilled octopus, Greek salad, and kebabs all flavorful, perfectly cooked, and well-portioned. The waiter brought us complimentary chocolate mousse as well. I'm writing this review from Santorini and honestly I wish the meal we had tonight was half as delicious and enjoyable as last night's. Stop ready this review right now and get a table!

Delicious greek food and very welcoming host Mikel - he was entertaining. The lamb was a bit dry and bland. All the servers were very attentive even if it was busy when we were there dining.

Excellent service, ok price but improvement needed on the food. We came here due to the high google rating but have to say that we are really disappointed. The service is as many have mentioned excellent, however the food wasn’t. We ordered a egg plant spread, house special chicken and the lamb shank. The chicken was dry and lamb was tasteless. Also beware of thefts and try to avoid the outer row if possible, they tried to pick pocket the owner when he was taking our order but thank god that the owner realized and warned them, he also told others to be aware, as said good service if that’s what you are looking for but if you are a foodie, try something else.
