Only visited after museum hours to explore the Panorama and Viewing Gallery. Wonderful experience.. escalators took us all but last floor.. ever opening vistas .. great images of folk around escalators... glimpses of museum exhibitions made me really want to return. Views from the top across city, river and port were stunning. Huge thanks!

Awesome building, very friendly staff! The panoramic view access is free and is open from 09:30 a.m. There are a lot of views on the way too. Every story is a different museum and you can buy tickets for different parts too.

Well, it’s big, so big that most of the time it feels but empty. Once a while an exhibition interesting to visit. But most of the time, it’s good for climbing all the way to the roof top to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the harbor. So worthwhile give it a try. : :

Beautiful experience. The terrace on tenth floor is free to visit (kudos), but the permanent exhibition is a must see as well. A plunge in history of Antwerp, plan an entire afternoon to visit.

Very nice building in a nice marina area, walkable neighborhood with trees some shade and benches to take a break and some nice little art displays like statues and a heart display❤️ with locks. Unfortunately I didn't know that one can take the escalator upstairs for free. There's apparently a good view from up there, but since I was there in the evening it was probably closed anyway. On the way from my hotel to the museum I took a wrong turn and ended up in the red light district which was interesting and rather colorful, reminding me of the laser light show up in the Atomium, which was great. Along the water one eventually gets to the ferries wheel which looks rather pretty at night 🌙

One of the main museum in Antwerpen, a 10 floor museum with an amazing architecture, and INSANE expositions. You have also some temporary exhibitions. Take at least 3h to visit this museum, you will need it. Each floor as a theme and plenty of different pieces of Art. The employees are really nice as well, and super available if you have any question.

I loved this museum and ran out of time. There are floors devoted to a broad theme like food or home and then bring together historic paintings, current interviews, examples of say food businesses like bakers, sausage makers, historic equipment. It was really fascinating and enlightening. One floor explains what they collect and show you this looking in on storage areas (these looked a little staged) but all making for much more interest than many.

Visited because we had the Antwerp pass. It would have been worth the €12 ticket though. The story exhibition was great. The panoramic view and the storage vault is free to visit so at least take some time to view those if nothing else. Very interesting architecture as well, a great addition to the dock. The shop was shut one the day of our visit though which was a bit of a shame.

The panoramic view was great, but we couldn't stay on the roof floor longer than taking a few photos. It was almost 28°C on the day we visited. The exhibitions involved some videos and interactive elements, but we thought they were quite boring. Can skip them if you are more interested in enjoying the city view.

Such a beautiful Cathedral. A must see UNESCO World Heritage site. The cathedral has so neat statues around it also. You can see some of the crypts they have uncovered. If you are in Antwerp you have to check out this place. You will not be disappointed.

What an amazingly preserved cathedral with four of Ruben's artwork. There are many other paintings by other artists which in the main depict biblical themes. Unfortunately for us the English tour was cancelled on the day we were there. There is a toilet here for paying customers. Wheelchair accessible. There is a crypt below the church that is very dank and badly ventilated. Spend just 1 or 2 minutes here. This is a truly grand cathedral. Worth a visit.

This’s a real gem of a cathedral. It’s spectacular. It will makes your heart sing. It’s dazzling white. With many impressive carvings and objects of art that have religious significance. Remember it’s a functional cathedral. We happen to visit during the ceremony and were asked to watch from the hallway.

Sort of expensive to get in but I thought it was worth it. The scale of the inside is very impressive, and the art on display is truly beautiful. There's plenty of explanations written in many languages too so it's very easy to learn about the art etc. I could have spent ages in there just soaking it in.

Very formidable building at the city center but sadly needs tickets for entering, and at weekends most of the time it's booked for private events such as weddings. Has an organ so I guess it's nice being inside while playing.

An amazing church where you can see the olden architecture, paintings, and spirituality. Will get and old feel in each and every thing over here. Entry made with fee and should be vaccinated against covid.

Antwerp Cathedral of Our Lady is one of the top 3 places to see in Antwerp. Construction was completed in 1521, it's capacity is 25,000 visitors. If the cathedral looks imposing, it's interior looks magnetic, with paintings by Rubens, and very impressive wood ornaments. There are also two big organs. Entrance is charged but is worth every penny.

A must-see landmark in Antwerp when you visit Belgium. A nominal entry fee gets you access to this magnificent example of 18th Century architecture, with fine art and historic notes, including a crypt. Easily accessible from central station.

Quite tiny nice and clean ZOO, very well organised for a visit. Unfortunately some parts were closed for reconstruction. Admission fee is extremely high comparing to its size and what can be seen on place 🙂😐. Thanks to location accessibility by public transport or train is excellent.

Antwerp Zoo, nestled near the station, is a true urban oasis. Had a great day at the zoo! It's always nice to see some animals but unfortunately (and this is at a lot of zoo's) they don't get a lot of space. In many cases we saw huge groups of animals packed together in one tiny area. Another unfortunate thing was that 2 of the little shops were out of drinks.... Maybe because it was busy but should that really be an excuse? Other then that it was nice and we took some nice pictures.

My honest opinion is that it's to expensive for what you get! Really like they had 2 years time to paint and restore the zoo due to corona but no.. fake trees.. ugly stones (if they are real) the animals look sad 😔 and not happy..they all stair at you with a sad look on there face.. to much monkeys in to little spaces Really is this a zoo .. they should be ashamed it need to be a public park because there's more space for us humans who eat drink and play around. 62€ for 2 adults and within the hour your back outside... no never again

Beautiful zoo right in the middle of the city. Beautiful architecture, well maintained, lot of places to relax and eat. Lot of birds, animals and reptiles don’t expect it to be a National park but a well maintained Zoo with enough animals the place can keep you occupied for couple of hours. Its just beside Antwerp central station so location wise it’s amazing.

Excellent place to visit. The atmosphere is great, lots of different animals, friendly staff. The only thing I missed was more points selling drinks and food. Worth the visit!

The zoo is located right in the center of Antwerp next to the central station. Overall the zoo is beautiful, and they make great use of the limited space. However don't expect to walk around for much longer than 2 euros, which is not too long considering the steep entry price. As a student (or in general) it is probably worth buying the yearly subscription as this also gives access to Planckendael and you can enter the zoo an hour before opening time (well worth)

Beautiful zoo! It looks like the animals are well taken care of and have enough room. It is also a great walk around with nice places to sit and rest !

Currently all the enclosed areas are forbidden a cause de COVID and due to the weather some animals remain inside. It would be a good idea to invest in the annual membership, to go back and enjoy it completely. Nevertheless, my 6 y/o had an amazing time in the playgrounds and watching the few animals we could.

I don't go to zoo's often, but this one amazed me. Quite spacious (even though it was busy), and the scenery and kind of themed areas look very nice. The animals also seem well taken care of.

Had an amazing afternoon at the Antwerpen Zoo. Some of the directions sign could be improved a little, but overall it was very nice experience! Definitely better to visit during weekdays becaus the space is not enough or would be too overwhelming for a weekend crowd.

A very nice place in the city center, animals seem as happy as they can be in a zoo. It looks well maintained. Butterfly garden is an amazing place for plant lovers as well.

This place would have been more enjoyable if 1) the audio guide was not so incredibly long-winded and mundane 2) it wasn’t so crowded, especially for the limited space available in the rooms of the house The house is very interesting to see, so are the ornaments and paintings. But if you actually want to spend time there and learn something you better go equipped with patience.

The house has a great collection of art assembled by Rubens himself, and the audio tour is informative. Original furniture was interesting to see. The lighting throughout the house is very dark, and the "flow" is a bit confusing, due to the small size of the museum. On the night we went, there was a life study class taking place in one of the rooms, and the teacher needed to keep telling visitors not to stand in certain places, as the visitors were blocking the lighting on the live model in the center of the room. It was very awkward, and made it difficult to see all of the art on display.

Lovely place to visit, however it was a bit overcrowded. The audioguide was a little long (at times mundane) but a great journey to walk through. A shame that some places were closed off due to preparations for the 4 yr renovation, but looking forward to visit again once they are complete. 🤍

Wow! Well-preserved home with amazing marble and tile work. Lovely art collection. You learn about the artist's life and his appreciation of art. Well worth the time.

Ruben's house was a very emotional visit , such a man with great vision ,his kitchen was impressive for those days when very few facilities were available .his medicinal garden with its original geometrical shape was marvellous. The wood work in his house is still strong and impressive.the paintings and self portrait are beautiful.

Beautiful and interesting museum, but it could’ve been better! Unfortunately it was too crowded to actually enjoy looking at all the rooms. The audio guide was a bit too long, I would’ve liked to read more. It felt like everything in this museum was focused on the audio guide. And there was no free toilet to use?

I almost walked past this place without noticing it all, but there were some cool woodcut images on the Building which piqued my interest so I had to go inside. There was no queue, the staff were really helpful and spoke perfect English, it was a mind opening experience and so so beautiful inside that I would highly recommend everyone going pst should pop in! It’s worth the money as you get some free prints and a free audio guide.

A very rare gem of a museum. A must see, even a site of pilgrimage for graphic designers, as this is the birthplace of mass produced books and maps. See the Garamond fonts in their original state and marvel at some lesser known paintings by Rubens. I visited on a Saturday. It can get quite crowded.

Beautiful historical house in the centre of Antwerp with important historical connections to the printing industry of the day. All very interesting and informative.

This museum is incredibly beautiful. It is located in a 16th-century mansion and features astonishing interiors, furniture, tapestries, and paintings. The spirit of previous generations is palpable throughout the building - you can smell it, feel it, and even hear it. I strongly recommend spending a couple of hours there.

€8 student discount, 1:25h visit. The museum is well organized, with an audioguide that gives plenty of details (except in one of the first rooms, when it describes the different paintings, the order is pretty mixed up - you need to constantly pause it to figure out which one it's talking about). If you are interested in printing and old books you might enjoy it, I found that it isn't my kind of museum.

I could not imagine that a printer's legacy could be so impressive. It is thanks to Mr Platin that knowledge was able to spread worldwide in the 16th century. The museum succeeds in presenting the achievements of this epoch in a very interesting way and accompanying them with the explanations of the audio guide. In my opinion the most interesting museum in the city.

A nice 1 and 1/2 hour in a brilliant museum. First I thought there would be some old printing machines to see. I was wrong. The building is fascinating and I learnt a lot about the history of books

AMAZING museum! Multifaceted but not overwhelming, this museum is about the history of the printing press, of book publishing and books in general, Antwerp history, and also the lives of a few very ambitious businesspeople that made this building into what it is. Add to that quite the collection of paintings by Rubens, a stunning flower garden, a beautifully kept building and a great audiotour to be guided among all the information available. Other highlights: two really old libraries and many many botanical books, atlases, prints... All displayed really well for you to enjoy. Don't miss the illuminated manuscripts they kept for inspiration... Book lovers, business people, plant lovers, art lovers and of course history lovers will have a great time here. There's even someone present to workshop the printing press and many interactive moments for kids. Would recommend 10+ though.

It was a great place to drink and dine. It was busy but probably not as busy as it usually is. The beers we ordered were good. I tried out some trappist monk beer and their blond beer. My husband took the brown beer and we had some beef stew and pork ribs for our meal. The service personnel are sharp and lively even when they are clearly swamped with orders. There were no wrong orders sent at our table even when we kept on ordering drinks which goes to show how organized they are. The best part is really the ambience and music was not bad either. If you are a religious person and take offense in the use of religious images, then this is probably not the place you'd want to visit. Only one thing I was disappointed about was that they ran out of mussels when we came, I was craving for the dish. Our spending per person is only because we ordered quite a lot of beer. 😅

Warm, cozy and the meat stew smelled so good walking in. Religious theme, full of statues and check out the paintings that replicate the menu. Multiple seating areas down and upstairs and an outside terrace. Had the baked chicken with root vegetables and curry sauce, very good! Friend enjoyed the fish stew. Great service.

The service level in this restaurant is impeccable. They really make an effort to meet the customer needs and if they can’t they explain to you why and try to make up for it. Would totally recommend and definitely come back. The food is amazing too!! Best tomato soup & fish stew I’ve ever had.

Very peculiar place, it’s full of religious figures and statues. Nice place. Food is brasserie type. There is music in the evening but we didn’t have time to stay. Service is top and they ask to tip from 10 to 25% tip at the payment which I think is worthy.

This place has a singular aesthetic and is well located. While we found the stew to be filling and nice, we believe the croquettes are a bit pricy give the number of units, 2. Beers were great and service attentive. Maybe good to make a reservation before you go just to be sure they have a table. I also saw they have live music sometimes

When visiting Belgium, you should dine there as well and what I like the most are the delicious stews. At this place you get a three course menu for only €30,- which is a bargain if you see what you get! The staff is very friendly, in for a small talk and serve quickly. We got the soup of the day which is a pumpkin soup, and what a big bowl! Bread included with some herbs spread. The stew is served with a good portion of crispy fries. As a dessert I had the Bier Brûlée, which is made with beer. I didn't find it an experience, but nevertheless it tastes good. I really recommend the place after this great experience!

Food was nice in general. There were a few dishes that were sublime. However, overall there was no surprise in the menu. Service that night was not so well organized, and there were a few mishaps. One of the dishes was a surprise for the guests to figure out, but at the end of the evening there was no explanation of what the dish was. I stayed the whole night with one drink that became warm and was standing on the table the whole night, no one came to ask if I wanted a new drink. The water was pour into the glass so abruptly each time, the table was soaking wet. I expected a higher standard in service…

Overall an okay place. 10/10 for service. The staff is super friendly, personable and attentive. They were great to talk to. They made you feel super welcome. 8/10 the atmosphere was nice. The place itself is pretty trendy and unique. 6/10 the food was okay. Some of the dishes were bland and some were too salty. Overall it was fine but would expect more from a top rated restaurant. 7/10 the wines and cocktails were pretty good. Overall would recommend trying this place but not a priority compared to other Michelin star restaurants as the food was not anything out of the box.

Phrases like "Religious experience", "I think I am going to cry."(it is so good), and "I might be high from this" may seem a bit like hyperbole when reviewing a restaurant....but I assure you, in this case, they are fully appropriate and words I actually uttered to my dining companions. The meal was one of the most amazing I have ever had, the service, presentation, and orchestration beyond reproach. The same can be said for the aperitief, the wine pairing(and!!! The non alcoholic pairing for my wife...absolutely stunning! ). The Jane deserves all of it's reputation. Thank you team@thejane, you made our anniversary dinner something beyond all our expectations.

Great experience for any food lover. Courses are well balanced and come to your table at an ideal pace. The wine pairing is at some points surprising but always complements the dishes. Friendly staff!

Excellent experience to be at the famous Jane. Nothing to complain about, quality speak itself in their plate. Each dish was well-presented and well-balanced. If only I have to say something about ideas or things to make it even better in the future, that would be: 1. Maybe consider to have an ala carte menu, where guests can enjoy each course with slightly bigger portion (and of course don't mind to charge more price to it). Anyway, we will be back again in the future for more awesome experience. Thank you for having us, it was a great pleasure.

This experience was just exquisite, from the welcoming, to the service (with a special thanks to Alexander) and of course the mindblowing tastings!

I had my eye on coming to The Jane for several years, and it is a truly wonderful experience. The food is delicious, the building is incredible, and the price makes it inaccessible enough that you’re likely not going to become a regular. However, at times it felt like The Jane’s two Michelin star status is more heavily riding on the striking building, design, and the restaurants ubiquitous branding that seems to touch everything from the hand soap and room infusers, to the vinyl room in the basement, than to the dining experience. While it’s certainly a once in a lifetime experience, menu items sort of blended together rather than stood out, one from the other, and the service model, in which multiple different servers take care of your table, felt more impersonal than innovative. Clearly a very fine dining experience, but I am sad to say that I have had more impressive meals at restaurants with fewer stars and less hype. If this were not a two Michelin starred restaurant, it would easily receive five stars, but a perfect score isn’t merited for the price point and prestige that this restaurant carries.

It is a two stars Michelin restaurant(for me it is 3 😊), the food was really amazing most of the entries were seafood based. The presentation and service is really unique. To eat here is an experience. There is no parking close to the place you can park on the street if you find a place or close to the train station there is parking it take 10 min to walk from there to the restaurant.

Absolutely amazing service. Sarah deserves a raise. The food was okay. For the price I would say that I was a bit underwhelmed by the steak. It could have been a bit better with some sauce. But it is still steak so…🤩 Buy anyway, great place!

Very nice place with view on the Grote Markt (from some seats), great steaks, (portions are big enough). Desserts are quite big, and prices are not high considering you are in the centre of Antwerp. Best to book a table in advance. For those who like Italian wines, the white pinot grigio is fantastic. Staff is very friendly. Also burgers or salads available.

Best Service & Food experience in town. If you like meat & service at it‘s best than you need to give this place a chance! Try out the Cheeseburger with fries and the bernaise sauce, it‘s a blast! We recommend lunch time @12:30h to drop in without a reservation. But we would strongly recommend a reservation if weather conditions are bad due to it‘s a tiny restaurant with just a few seats. Have good time, we‘ll come back for sure!

Being here for several times , really like the atmosphere and decorations here, service always great. However, today’s suggest menu first hang and amusement are both tartar.I’m not a big fan of pork, but the lomo main dish is really lovely. The wild duck is also great. Mussels soup is with smoked paling in it, add more flavor. Strawberry Dessert really with BIG strawberry, maybe cut it into pieces can be very helpful since I don’t have knife then. Whole experience is 4 star.

While hearing about this great place I was really tempted to visit it myself aswell, while being welcomed and handing over my coat I was lead to my table where I could enjoy of the sunset view in the many windows they have in this marvellous place which is based in the old out of service pump housing which brings over a very nostalgic feeling, I ordered the steak with fries aside which was very tasty and a catch for the eye. The sanitation area was very clean aswell which I find very important in this kind of high standard restaurants. The staff was friendly and gave you the opportunity to have a moment for reading the menu without feeling hasty to make a decision. At the end I couldn't resist ordering the Créme brûlée which I still haven't had any regrets from since this was one of the best I had, definitely a place worth your visit also perfect for private dinners because of the nice atmosphere and perfectly fine interior.

What an unexpected surprise! We actually went for visiting the Port House, but then passed this restaurant. We decided to give it a go, and it was worth it. Friendly service, good wine, tasty food. We went for a 2-course lunch, hamachi/chapati and veal, so good! Nice ambiance, no regrets.

The vegetarian burger is actually good. Great vibes. The beer selection is unbelievably good. Must try. The outdoor seating is solid but do check out indoors just for the decor. Go to the basement to see the innumerable beer kegs through glass walls. Limited option on vegetarian food.

This place is absolutely a "must visit" location when you are a beer lover. 30 different types of draft beer and over 300 types of bottled beers to choose from. Or you can order a 'proeverij'. A selection of 4 (smaller) glasses of beer of your own choice. And besides all that the ambiance is really great. Enjoy your visit! 🍻

They have a big selection of beers. Great place to taste Belgian beer. I would also recommend trying the Vol-au-vent here, it was really delicious. Carbonnade flamande was not that impressive.

It may have been a lack of luck but the service last night was terrible. We are still waiting for an extra plate for my son, (I asked the same waiter twice...) We had to go get our own silverware and had to wave and go get the waiter to get our order in and the check. To end on a good note the food was excellent. We just didn't have a great experience.

One of the coziest place in town. You can come here a hundred times and still try a different beer. They have a beertionary for their beer list. Friendly service and nice ambience inside the bar.

Vast selection of beers and a good selection of yummy food. We were staying nearby for a few days and came back twice. We barely scratched the surface of the huge encyclopedia that is their beer menu. It's the place to beer!

Visited for a beer before heading elsewhere. A large selection of beers on offer in a nice venue with both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately I can only give three stars due to the service, despite there being quite a few staff on duty it was difficult to get their attention. We went up to the bar but were duly told we couldn't order there. The food looked good but having queried our order after 30 mins, it seems our server had not informed the kitchen of our order, as the member of staff checking couldn't see it on our tab. I note that the table next to us queried the length they were waiting for their burgers to arrive as well. Card is accepted here.

A busy place but I found a free table outside on the terrace. Did not try the food, had just one local beer which name I don't remember but it was really good..Nice and cold. One thing I would change is the format of the beer menu. It's just very long list with the names and prices, so If you don't look it up in the beer bible you don't know what to choose. It could be at least more organized so you know what category beer belongs to, with a brief description. Anyway, I pick one from the tap and was not disappointed.
