Such a great place I went on a van tour. You can drive yourself and even walk through. If you drive through there are plenty of turnouts to pull over into and park so you can walk around to see the animals in that area. The animals look well cared for in the sanctuary. I saw so many beautiful animals it was lightly raining and was in the afternoon so some animals were under the cover of the open sheds. But just to see them at all is so wonderful. The restrooms were clean, the gift shop staff was super helpful. They had food options outside. I wish I had a little longer to look around but being on a tour you have only so long to look around. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Anchorage.

We enjoyed our visit to the farm. You can walk around if you have the time and the weather is nice (probably my preference), but you can drive around to the different pens to view the animals. It was great to see some animals you may not get the chance to see in the wild. The porcupine was super cute. They have a gift store and you can buy coffee and hot chocolates and small food items. It was a lot of fun and great for kids. Highly recommend.

My husband and I visited the conservatory as part of a tour during a visit to Alaska for our honeymoon, and I wish we had more time to spend there. It is such a lovely place. The animals have plenty of room to roam and seem content. We saw a bear trudge over to the pond and lay back, paws in the air, just chillin in the water. Besides the animals, this is a great place to take some landscape photos. It is surrounded by mountains. There are musk ox, bison, wolves, caribou, deer, eagles, bear, and moose. They also have a really nice gift shop. I didn't buy anything, but I wanted to!

Very nice conservation center with spacious enclosures for the animals. We truly enjoyed our time there. You have the opportunity to ride or drive to see the animals. We drove through first and then walked. Spent over 3 hours here and could have stayed longer but had to start our drive to Homer. We were there at the right time to hear a concert of howling by the wolves. We loved seeing that all the animals were well cared for. Staff were helpful and informative.

Can't say enough great things about this place except for WOW. Set amongst the beautiful mountains and valleys, this is a must do experience if you're looking to see wildlife near Anchorage. I took a tour from Anchorage and was amazed from the minute we got here. Seeing these animals enjoy themselves in their natural habitat was so memorable and enjoyable. If you're interested in going, I do recommend going with a tour group, or making sure that you download maps to be viewed offline as there's little GPS in the area. Personally, I enjoyed not having cellular service during my time here but just a tip to others considering coming here. Definitely allocate enough time here, while our tour drove through, I would recommend walking to each and spending more time enjoying the beautiful outdoors and beautiful wildlife.

A very good place to watch Alaska wildlife in case you are in hurry or have missed it in the wild. The center is spread out and huge with local Alaksan wildlife kept in big lots. The animals ans birds are looked after really well and and the habitat is done in a way to reflect the wild. Highly recommended. There are educational centers and a gift shop

The open atmosphere provides a pleasant walk amongst the fenced animals. You can also remain in your car and drive around if you desire. You are able to get very close when the animals allow it. The large animals appear to have large spaces to graze.

We loved visiting this place. Having an experience with the Alaska Wildlife with a natural habitat and the beautiful scenery all around was really wonderful. My 4 year old had a great time watching the animals that close.

Must stop for animal lovers! Beautiful drive here from Anchorage, great and helpful staff, cute gift shop, and beautiful scenery while seeing some amazing animals. They're so close to you, it's incredible to see. There's not a ton of different animals like a zoo, but if you love animals, respect nature, and appreciate all of the work that goes into caring for animals like these then you'll love this place! My friend and I went around twice, you can drive or walk, we drove because it was very cold. So glad we went around twice because then we got to see the bears being fed!

This place was so cool!! You can drive around to each animals area/natural habitat. There's fences to protect the animals from people, but you can see straight through. It was amazing, their sense of humor is great, as noted by the social distancing signs. The facilities were clean and all animals looked super healthy! Gift shop was unique and featured local artists.

Absolutely an amazing spot to see a lot of Alaskan species. Wood Bison, Moose, Elk, Caribou, Lynx, Porcupine, Grizzly Beat, Wolves, and Black Bears are all here and are treated well. We went here on a tour and loved it so much that we went back after a few days to make some donations and to see some more of the animals. They have a very nice gift shop as well. Some of the handcrafted knives were incredible!

My time at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center was pure magic, man! It's all about love and positive vibes, connecting with nature and cool creatures. The center's dedication to conservation warmed my heart, creating a peaceful haven for these beautiful beings. From majestic bears to playful otters, soaring eagles to graceful moose, each creature radiated its own energy. It deepened my appreciation for the interconnectedness of all life. If you want to experience the wonders of nature and spread love, visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. It's a groovy journey of compassion and harmony with our furry and feathery friends. Awesome trip. Highly recommend if traveling towards Whittier from Anchorage. Cool to see the big animals up close and personal, I’m glad they have the drive through option as we were traveling with a family member with mobility issues. Even she had the best time seeing all the animals!

Absolutely a must! I have been waiting since I moved here to check this place out! All the animals were out. Even the highly anticipated brown bear! The most breath taking views. Very nice that there is a drive option but it’s not too big to walk even with 5 kids! Weren’t bored for a single second! Definitely come!

Such an amazing place! The attention to detail in every aspect of the center is evident. The trail outside with the six authentic homes / dwellings from the different Alaskan regions is such an awe-inspiring, immersive experience and was a highlight for my family. We also enjoyed the sports demonstrations, storytelling, "Teatime with an Elder" and the theater.

Wow, I had such a great time at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Such an informative and eye-opening experience. There were plenty of presentations and other teaching tools, but offered a small window into the many indigenous peoples of the area. Plus, there is no fee for admission, so there is no excuse not to make some time to visit.

I wish I could've spent more time here exploring. What I did see made me want to see more, though, I don't know how much more there was to see. I saw the interior exhibits of carved things and clothing. What I wanted to see more of was the insides of the earthen houses outside. I enjoyed hearing the men on stage singing and drumming. I liked seeing the different regional Alaskan groups posited on the map, which made the distinctions clearer. Great job, Heritage Center!

We finally got the chance to visit this spot. It’s been on our bucket list. It is a small center, but has a LOT of information. Love the natives can come sell their native items. The outside grounds are super large and has plenty of building to enter to see what life was/is like! Love the folks in school building sharing the peculiarities of each building and what life was really like. Loved visiting here.

We loved our visit and learned quite a bit about the native ancestries across the state. There were live demos, dance performances, and you can walk around the variety of home structures for each native regions in Alaska. A must-visit if you’re interested in history and if you’re in the area.

Can't recommend this center enough. Very informative, with many exhibits both inside and outside for all ages. Many "touchable" exhibits for little hands. My favorite part of the visit was storytelling/singing on the stage right inside the main door. And I absolutely love the fact that most of the exhibits we're staffed by younger (teens - twenties) people. In my opinion, that demonstrates a desire to carry on traditions, but also makes the exhibits more approachable by you her visitors. Thank you for the informative center, exhibits, and staff.

Great introduction to the various native cultures within Alaska. The dancers and singers that performed were great. Our tour guide was very informative and very mature for her age (only 8th grade). This was especially evident when the intruder (bear) alert came over the radio! 😀 I appreciated that the center is staffed by Native Alaskans and that opportunities are afforded to youth to grow in their cultures.

It is quite expensive (at least for European standards) but it's worth it in my opinion. The village replicas are beautiful and the people there have lots of amazing things to tell you. The dance show we were able to see at the end was the cherry on top.

Beautiful place. We loved the outdoor spaces and buildings. The sports performance was a little off the cuff but they know their stuff. And we laughed a lot. The dancers were good and kept us entertained. Unfortunately on the guided tour our guide couldn't answer many questions and referred to the brochure. We could have done that ourselves if they hadn't been out of them. We noticed others were having a better guided tour experience though. And we did learn a lot just from the great signage throughout the Center.

Great guided tour of the village sites, wonderful performances and Alaska Native games presentations, and an ok Hall of Cultures. The village sites and performances were my favorite part of our visit. Look at the schedule and plan to attend a few of the performances/ presentations to get the best experience out of your visit. 8/10 Would recommend.

We really enjoyed our visit this week. We were able to watch “the gamers” (as they were referred to) demonstrate native games; their athleticism was incredible. We also got to watch the drummers and dancers. We also enjoyed going to the different tribal structures around the lake and talking to the high school student interpreter (I think he was of the Inupiaq tribe but my memory may be incorrect). Talking to the artists who were selling their work and hearing their stories was a special treat; we came home with some great treasures. Thank you to those at the center for creating a beautiful space in which to learn and for sharing your stories with us.

As first time visitors to Alaska, we wanted to be sure to learn more about the people and history. We'll this center was the perfect stop to do both. They had native people giving demonstrations and leading tours that were very informative and educational. The tour took us through six full scale recreations of the various types of dwellings different tribes used to live the very difficult environment of Alaska. In each one, they had things that the people made as part of their culture. It was an hour and a half, but went by quickly because it was so interesting. The displays in the visitor center itself were also very well done and fascinating to see. We'll worth seeing! A must stop for anyone who has a desire to learn about the heritage of the Alaskan people!

The Alyeska Aerial Tram takes you up a small mountain that has hiking and biking trails in the summer and is otherwise a ski resort in the winter. The tram itself is very nice and the trip both up and down were smooth. Realize that it is fairly tight quarters for about 5-10 minutes. Great views from the tram and OK views at the top during summer. We were up on a fairly cloudy day so couldn't see much for part of our visit. With so many amazing places to visit this was good, but not great.

Near perfect experience. If you never rode a tram. This was quick. Everything was easy, and there was no wait. At the top of the Tramway, there is a small deli and bar with surprisingly decent food. I was told we were going to the restaurant, but I was not open. The weather was not bad at all as we were in the skiing offseason, but its Alaska, it was definitely a little chilly. Can't wait to come back!

At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but it’s worth every penny. Clean, safe ride with friendly staff. The mountain top was very cool with wildlife (saw a bear on the way up), wildflowers, and great views. The bathrooms were clean and the beer hit the spot. 20% discount if you are staying at the resort. Pictures taken August 14, 2023.

This was cool to be in snow during the summer with beautiful views! Kids had fun exploring of the mountain and building a snowman. There is a restaurant deli at the top and a little museum. The hotel at the bottom has fine dining to pick from I would just check the hours for the day that you’re coming if you wanted to eat there. Once you get to this area there is a local shuttle that works off tips to drive you anywhere and drop you off and pick you back up around the entire town.

Beautiful views from the top of the tram, although you do have to pay to ride on it. At the top, there is a bar to get drinks, a cafe which closes at 4:30, a gift shop, and the Seven Glaciers fine dining restaurant, which you need a reservation for. If you don’t want to take the tram, there is a strenuous yet doable hike to the top.

A 4-5 minutes lift ride up the mountains. The height of the mountains is at 2000 ft and tram is every 15 minutes up. Cost- it's $48 per adult and $60 / adult which includes food at the restaurant in the top. Personally I feel it's very expensive just to go on the top..but views are definitely amazing. It completely depend on the weather if it's cloudy or sunny to see the views. You can also hike the top which is steep hike and coming down is free!!! Deli- we got the $25 coupon for food and had a black bean burger with cocktail on the top.

A gorgeous view even on a cloudy day. A two mile hike up to the lookout from the roundhouse and restaurant and a tram ride down. Unless you really feel energetic and want to hike the two mile hike back down. It is a do-able steep. I don't recommend it to someone that's really out of shape. The ride down is free. If you choose to ride the tram up it cost $90. for my wife and I both unless you order the meal vouchers which I did so I paid $120.00 for the both of us to be used at the restaurant up on top. If you want to eat at the fine dining restaurant I recommend getting online and ordering in advance. The closest day available was two days out. Prices were a little spendy as you might imagine. I thought it was worth it.

This was surprisingly the best stop we made between Anchorage and Seward, and one of our top 3 things we did in Alaska. By reading the website, I thought it was just a tram ride up and down, instead there was tons to do at the top! Tickets: Tram rides leave very often, so you'll have no problems getting on one throughout the day. There are plenty of tickets available, so you can buy the day of. Lots of military/veteran, student, and senior discounts available. Tram: It's standing room only, but not a very long ride. Glass views all around and good for pictures. Tram Alternative: There is a hike that goes from the base to the top. It's dirt and a lot of switch backs, but excellent exercise! Hikers can take the tram down for free, but ticketed passengers get first dibs. At the Top: Once you get off the tram at the top, there is a hiking trail that will take you further up the mountain for breathtaking views. Well worth the climb! Even in August there was still some snow up there. There is also a restaurant (pick-up & find a seat no servers) and a bar. You can take your brew outside and enjoy the views while sipping on a cold beer or cocktail. There is also a gift shop. Great for families, friends, couples or solo! All ability levels as well.

A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Spectacular views and you don't have to climb a mountain for it. I also want to note that all the folks running the tram were very nice and very helpful.

A quick 4.5 minute ride from the bottom to the top - elevation of 2000ft gain. Unfortunately, today mother nature took her toll. The fog rolled in and all we saw was the white background. There are restaurants on top, one is a 4 diamond restaurant with reservations required while the other restaurant is more casual. Would be an amazing place to visit and have a lovely dinner with spectacular views on a clear, sunny day.

The zoo experience was OK. Nothing to write home about or so spectacular it would deserve five stars. Admission was $10/child and $17/non-resident adult. There were hardly any staff walking around the grounds, which seems unusual for July. Would have been nice to get some questions answered from the kids. There were tigers, bears (black, brown, and polar), seals, otters, eagles, goats, wolves, and more. The grounds are nice and seem natural (like they built the zoo within a natural area).

Fantastic little zoo! Very charming. Well groomed trails. We witnessed some feeding times. Many animals were happily playing. They all have suitable enrichment and toys in their pens. Some baby animals to see. The place had no waiting, no lines, and was not at all crowded! Always got front and center viewing when animals were doing cute things. I also love that they share the animal's life story. Most are rescued!

The zoo was magical in the snow! Not all the animals were out, but we got to see the majority of the cold-weather ones. The zoo is on the smaller side but it's a great way to fill the day without needing to rush through. The shop is small but well-stocked and there are snacks available at the ticket stand.

Let's make this easy: Nice walk. Good environment. Prices are good. However tiny playground. Not to many animals. Most "exotic" is a tiger. -for kids? My son was good w walking around but he shocked me. He got bored. He wanted to learn more but you won't see any employees walking around. Do yourself a favor. Look up a habitat or just grab them boots and go hiking. This is a one time cute weekend walk kind of thing for my family tbh.

Enjoyed our visit. Liked the fact that most of the animals were locally rescued animals that had been injured or orphaned. This, and Alaskan weather, limits the variety of animals somewhat, but the ones there all have back stories that we found interesting. I see where others have complained about it being grown up, but this was a bonus for me. It seemed like the animals were at least surrounded by a little nature. Enclosures were fairly small but seemed adapted to the species and to have it where they were visible most of the time. Our favorite part was the infirmiry, where there were 5 moose calves and a brown bear cub in quarantine as new arrivals. Cute as can be!

I appreciate the signs with animal background very much, it makes me feel better about why some of them are there. The animals seem very well taken care of and the keepers are definitely interactive with them. Grandmother approved.

Nice little zoo, the fact that there is a lot of nature around makes the experience really great. Plenty of space for the animals, trails are taken care of, there’s a little coffee shop (wish they had more pastry’s). Great to hang around with your kids and learn about Alaska fauna.

Pretty good size but came when nearly all of the animals were napping. Due to the short staff and low inventory, the gift shop has some barron walls but still some good things to purchase. The foliage around most of the exhibits are too much to see the ground in the cages. The Otter scene was depressing as there was hardly any water and I saw it throw up on the rock it was perched on 😓 We also believe we witnessed one of the porcupines passing 😓 hopefully it was just our experience but it was honestly more depressing than anything else...

I was going to rate this 1 star but at the end, beautiful polar bear showed up and gave us an awesome show swimming in the pool. 2 extra stars for the polar bear. That helped redeem the zoo. Otherwise visit only if you have nothing else to do or if you have patience to hang out in the polar bear viewing area to wait for it as it tends to leave that area often.

It might not be the biggest zoo in the country but the animals they have are amazingly active. They had lots of local wildlife and an incredible tiger. It’s great place to spend an hour. It is a little expensive but so is everything in AK. Definitely recommended.

You will get a birds eye view from this beautiful flattop mountain. It will a great place to get a photoshoot for a family with the ocean on one side and mountains with snow on the other side. Easy accessibility to the bathrooms. The parking is also decent though over the weekend it will be tough to get a spot. A must 2 hr trip if you are visiting Anchorage.

This is not an easy hike before the snow melt. Even after, the trail is covered in gravel in many areas and poorly maintained. But the view is breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. You are facing west, looking over the whole Anchorage, and the mountain range that is part of Lake Clark National Park.

Great hike. Starts of easy, them becomes moderate when climbing steps. The final stretch is hard. Descending was difficult for a beginner like me. Worth it, felt accomplished when we were at the top.

The views are amazing. Trails are good for all levels of experience. It's very clean, and well kept. Pictures won't do it justice. There's also a good chance you'll get to pet some random puppies too

Went here twice in a two week visit to Anchorage. The area is breathtaking. Climbed about 1/3 of the mountain during the first visit. Took wife there when she came to visit, and she was amazed as well.

Really easy to get to local trail! It was a little challenging and we didn’t make it all the way to the top but was a really good time.

We went after a foot of snow fell. A bit treacherous in the parking lot with a car because no snow removal. DO PAY THE $5 PARKING FEE!!!! They do check. Short hike, great views.

Wow, what can I say about this unexpected thrilling hike. My buddy and I thought this was going to be a short and relatively flat hike. We were pleasantly surprised that this was one of the more challenging hikes I have done in the past few years. I've climbed MT. Kenya and while this was nowhere near that, the experience offered a taste of some fun climbing for a novice and naive hiker.

Oh I love going to the Glen Alps Flattop Trail. We don’t go to where the flag is at but we love to go to the other side where we take pictures and look down on Anchorage. My family loves to go there but sadly we moved so whenever we visit Anchorage we will always make time to go there.

Immediate uphill climb before leveling out a bit. Then resumes the climb until you get to a lovely viewpoint of anchorage! You can stop here or continue up a rock scramble to the top. Worth the scramble in my opinion!

I came here for dinner with my partner on a Thursday evening. For 2 we had a 45 min wait and we did wait just a little over that time frame so I definitely recommend making reservations if you can!! This place gets very busy. They are moving drinks and food quick but it’s such a popular place. The inside has a very “Alaskan” atmosphere. There is a fireplace, lights, and lots of pretty exposed wood. While waiting for a table we got drinks at the bar. Drink costs are as expected and pretty reasonable. You can also get food at the bar but we waited for a table for the full experience. We ordered the Alaska Alder Grilled Salmon ($33) and the Herb Crusted Halibut ($41). Bread does not come with meals and is available for an additional cost. Overall, the meals were exceptional. I do still think the food is a touch overpriced. The special of the day was salmon with vegetables and it was going for $55 and was not different enough than the grilled salmon on the menu to warrant ordering. Only complaint with my meal was the salad was dry and the waitress was too busy so I didn’t want to bother her for dressing that should’ve been on it. But overall still a good meal! PS if you want a wheelchair accessible restaurant, know there are stairs that go up to enter so it’s not the friendliest in that aspect

This brewery is expensive and worth the visit. It was really loud and crowded when we were there, but with the high-quality food and drinks, that's to be expected. They have an excellent beer menu with a wide variety of beer to choose from--I, of course, tasted two and got a flight. I ordered the crab legs. They were REALLY Pricey, but they were excellent. There was so much meat on them that I didn't finish the rest of my meal. Excellent experience.

An absolute culinary gem! The calamari and ale fondue with pretzels appetizers set the bar incredibly high, undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. The pizza? Simply phenomenal. We ventured further into their diverse menu with the Salmon, herb crusted halibut, mixed seafood grill, seafood fettuccine, and the peppercorn crusted steak — each dish was a masterclass in flavor, easily some of the best we've ever indulged in. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the desserts made their grand entrance. The peanut butter pie, their world-famous bread pudding, and the summer berry cheesecake were the perfect sweet endings to a memorable meal. Highly recommend!

We went to the Brewhouse first. We have a reservation at 6:30pm, but changed schedule and asked go for it earlier. Front desk is kindly to help us check and arrange. Foods are great! Unfortunately, I was too full to try more. Everything is good including seasoning. However, customers are too much, sometimes we can’t find table server. If I would travel Anchorage again, I definitely will visit it again.

The service was terrific. However, in the words of Gordon Ramsay, " My gran could do better, and she's dead!" My husbands steak literally tasted like charcoal briquettes. That was the only flavour to the ribeye. And my fillet that was ordered medium rare came out well done. I sent back my steak and got a new one that was barely rare. It was so bad the waiter took my meal off the ticket. I'm not sure if this was fluke off night or not, but at 50 bucks a plate, they should, at minimum, be able to temp a steak. Are there no thermometers in this kitchen? At least the one chef back there looked like a nija making pizza!

I recently visited this restaurant and was impressed with the service and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The decor was stylish and modern, creating a comfortable and inviting environment. While the food was fine, I was disappointed to find that they didn't offer any soups without meat. Even their chowder was made with bacon, which was frustrating. I believe it is very simple to make just fish version and serve bacon as an extra topping. However, I understand that not all restaurants cater to every dietary preference, so I didn't let it ruin my experience. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for its excellent service and pleasant atmosphere. Just be aware that their menu may not accommodate all dietary restrictions.

This was my First of few nights in Anchorage, Alaska. So glad i went to this place as the food was good and the waitress was very good and not to intrusive but attentive. Started off with one of their many beer selection on tap, which was good. As it was cold outside, i wanted to start off with a bowl of the Hearty Alaskan Seafood Chowder. Although it was a bit thicker then the chowders that i normally have. The taste was good and hit the spot on this cold day. Next i had the Shrimp and Grits. This was uniquely served on a cast iron like casserole dish which keep the food very hot as I devour it. Creamy grits with shrimps and andouille sausage sauce, topped off with a fried egg. Although i wish i had some more room for dessert, i was too full to order anything from the dessert menu. Would recommend this place in you are in the area.

Busy place at lunch on a Monday. Sat at the bar as it was the only open seat. Best calamari that I have had. Thick slices in a jalapeño sauce. Not rubbery like other places. The halibut was above average but nothing to write home about. Great side salad and mashed potatoes. The peanut butter pie was big and not overly nutty. Serious sugar overload. Great service at the bar with a wide selections of beer on tap. Beer flights of five selections are available. So don’t be in a hurry, everyone is working hard to get your dishes out as fast as they can just a really busy place. Lots of the cruise ship passengers frequent here.

Had to come back a second time because it was too busy the first time we tried. Made a reservation and it was well worth the wait. Had the calamari appetizer which we ate fast enough I wasn't able to get a picture. I had the cod fish and chip and my wife had the filet and shrimp. All were very good including my George Dickel Manhattan. Excellent service!

Had to make a stop here for the bread pudding. The shrimp and grits were incredible. Pleasant surprise. The bread pudding but had a bit too much apples in it for me. Otherwise texture was great… soft not mushy.

Came here as my first dinner around 5p while visiting Anchorage. It was crowded with people waiting outside, but there was a nice outdoor sitting area and a walk-up bar to pass the time. Luckily, table was ready within 15 minutes. Waiter immediately came over to take the drink orders, explain the menu options, and make some recommendations. Started off with a few local beers and the Smoked Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Spread. Both came out within 5 minutes. The Salmon Spread had a nice consistency and went well with the onions, lemon, and the baguettes. For the pizza, ordered the large Call of the Wild and medium Jake's Mistake. Pizzas came out within 15 minutes which was perfect time to finish the appetizer. Pizza was cooked perfectly with a crispy crust and generous amount of toppings. Both pizzas were great and my favorite part was the crust. All the ingredients were fresh and went well together. One was chicken based while the other was a supreme style, so got to taste two different styles. I wanted to try some of their desserts, but the pizzas were so filling. Overall, good food and service. I would definitely come back to try more pizzas, beers, and desserts.

This is just an update to an old review. Lovely place for delicious cheesy melting pizza and tasty beverages. Carnivore pizza with my Arctic Apple Ale and Cream Soda was divine to exaggerate. A lot of tourists and locals gather together, so finding a seat and service can be quite slow at times. I went alone recently, so I hit the bar counter, and it was quick at the snap of the finger. Drinks came off the bat, but food took time to come as expected. Yes, I did eat the whole pizza. Overall, I would recommend the bar counter experience over the table seating if it's just 3 people, couples, or solo.

We finally made it to Anchorage and our friends kept talking about this place. Well, it was absolutely amazing. We are pizza snobs and all of the options just knocked out socks off. I’d actually go back to Alaska just to eat here … it’s that good. We tried three kinds of pies and each was delicious. I’m just overwhelmed by the cool varieties of pizza. Fast service and cool decor. I can see why this place is at the top of the reviews! Don’t wait … just go!!

Wonderful pizza! They have lots of interesting pizza toppings and the flavors are delicious. The mozzarella breadsticks are amazing and cheesy. Great service and clean restaurant as well. If you’re looking for a good pizza place in the area, look no further!

So I been hearing about this pizza that's outta this world. And I must say they didn't disappoint. The crust is flaky and crunchy at the same time. With a touch of sweetness. There is no skimping of the meat either. I had the Santa's little helper. With nice moose plates. They say a 2 hour wait if you catch it right before dinner so we went around lunch time. We only had to wait 45 min. If you don't mind the wait camp out and get some drinks.

We arrived at 930 pm on a Monday night in the summer. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. We ordered the Korean Spicy wings, a medium Santa’s Little Helper pizza, and a slice of Snickerdoodle cheese cake. The wings came quick, and were very good. Not spicy. The pizza was good. We liked the sauce a lot. The cheesecake was decently tasty. To drink we had the Arctic Apple ale, and the Raspberry Wheat beer. Both were fantastic! Over all it took 90 minutes from walking in the door, to walking out. While the pizza was good, it was far from the best I’ve ever had. Not even in my personal top 10. Our bill at the end was about $72, which I think was a bit much. Overall I think this place it good, but overrated and overpriced. Eat here if you have the chance, but don’t go out of your way to do so.

This place seems to always be packed. We ended up waiting 40 minutes, which seems to be quicker than most times. The server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and tap list. We ended up getting four large pizzas for a group of 12 (4 were small kids) and had a lot of leftovers. The larges are a good amount of food with the thicker crust and abundant toppings. We got the Call of the Wild pie which had excellent flavors but was more dry than the red sauce pizzas. The Chugach session ale is also recommended.

30 minute wait for lunch, but I feel it was worth it. Got the brew house pizza and it was delicious! My guest got the cheeseburger pizza and he loved it. Service was good but it took about 45 minutes to get lunch served but I understand the restaurant and kitchen were very busy. I think if I was updated on the status of the order that would have been more helpful. Homemade root beer float was super delicious as well, probably because the root beer was house made. When in Anchorage I would return again!!

The food was absolutely amazing! I came here purely from recommendation. I found and heard about this place from word of mouth so I had to come try it out when I knew I was traveling to Anchorage. The servers and just the staff in general was really kind and willing to help whenever they can. The reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the wait that we had to do because of the place popularity. When we first arrived it took them about 45 minutes to get us seated. They got our order fairly quick but still took at the least 30 minutes to get the food. So we spent over an hour and 15 minutes just waiting to eat. I can understand that they are a busy and popular, but it was a lot of waiting.

We love Moose’s Tooth and come here every time we are in Anchorage. Great pizza 🍕 great beer 🍺 and cool atmosphere. Outside seating by fire pit and lots of indoor and tent seating. We highly recommend the Moose’s Tooth! Family friendly and lots of bar seating too. They get super busy and you can’t call ahead which is a bummer but we love this place. You can also order pizza in sections like 1/2 of this pizza and the other 1/2 that pizza. Thin crust is amazing. Wheat crust available and GF options too. 🍻 try the wonderful desserts too.

Went to the Moose Tooth for some pizza at 3:00PM on a Monday afternoon, still had to wait close to 45 minutes for a table. Seems like there's just always people here! I had heard good things about the pizza prior to coming and the food loved up to its reputation. I ordered the "Call of the Wild" pizza (pictured) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also tried a couple of the Broken Tooth brews and found them to be very enjoyable as well. There are very many pizza and beer options to choose from. I would very highly recommend the Moose's Tooth!

Amazing pizza! We absolutely loved the foragers pizza and root beer. The pizzas are massive and well worth the price! We had leftovers for days. Even though it was busy we only had to wait a few minutes to get seated. Great place to bring the family!

This place is absolutely fantastic! The pizza was super delicious 😋 We got the Brewery Favorite and the Margherita one. My husband enjoyed the local beer 🍺 For desert, we got the Moose pie, which is more than enough for 2 people. Would love to go back to this place when we'll have the chance.

Good prices, good food and good experience. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and nice. The place has music on live with a girl playing her guitar and the piano. The restaurant is kids friendly, the restaurant is spacious, this restaurant is in a good location from Anchorage. I love the Halibut 🐟 🐠.

Dined for lunch. I got the “Health Nut” with Halibut. The marinated cucumbers were pretty spicy and needed salt (I rarely use salt), but the halibut was very good. The steamed veggies were broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and were exactly steamed veggies (no seasoning). My daughter got the dinner salad and said the ranch dressing was excellent. She got the chicken sandwich and said it was fine (it’s rare in my experience to get an outstanding chicken sandwich). The fries were really good. It was a busy Sunday around noon and the service was fine - can’t expect super fast when they are that busy. A bit pricey for what we got.

Love music on Saturday night when we went. 2nd time I’ve been here. The crabby patty melt was really good the first time I went. This time we tried so smoked salmon options and the smoked salmon tasted like it had a tint of liquid smoke in it which did not settle well with my stomach. Crab cake were great. We’d go back for a third time. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Fantastic as always. Great service and my food was really good. Good size portions. I got a crab roll and the smoked salmon chowder and both were delicious. The fries are especially good! Will definitely be back!

This was a great place for quality beers, but we were disappointed by the service and food. . I reckon there were 15-20 minutes between checks by our waitress, which seems long when you are staring at an empty beer glass. It turned my next beer into "check please". . The halibut fish n chips was in fact chunks of fish surrounded by a soft coating of some type... not the shattering batter one expects. It was spongy and bland. The fries were the coated sort that are exactly not to my taste. I'd had pub fries the day before elsewhere so these were more obviously lacking. The king crab bites were probably 50% breadcrumbs; at least they weren't gourmet priced like my fish n chips. If you squinted, you could detect crab flavor. . The place has a great vibe, no doubt. If we skipped the food, it would have been fine. Perhaps if we were a table of 8 that was worth the server's time, it would have been fine. Instead, it was disappointing.

Local landmark - so when in Anchorage go and check it out. Great selection of beers and local seafood is the main specialty. We got the salmon chowder which was ok though we wouldn’t get it again. The grilled salmon was delicious as was the Cod plate with some of the best fries! Splash of malt vinegar and tartar sauce was very tasty.

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had, bride enjoyed the halibut tacos as well. Outstanding beer selection with quite a few local selections on tap.

New in town and checking off the local spots. Bonnie our server was very friendly and helpful- We started with the smoked salmon spread, but really didn't see the value in the mayo-based limited fish creation at $17. We followed it up with a Crabby Patty Melt ("meh, at best..crunchy but tasteless) and the Health Nut halibut (super tiny portion with a side of undercooked under seasoned veggies). Now on to the beers I had- (local)Black Spruce milk stout and the Ninkaski Bourbon Barrel Baltic porter....if you like a quality dark beer, these will both satisfy!!

Due to the fact that I have a sick child at the hotel we ordered lunch to go. I had of fish and chips. So yummy. The fish had just enough breading you could taste it and it was seasoned perfectly. The fish itself was so thick. Like huge chunks that were meaty and tender. The fries had a light breading on them. Definitely just a light coating. I would say if I had been able to eat these at a table in the restaurant they'd be one of the top 10 fries I've had. My husband had the halibut tacos. He said they were good. All that since he is the most descriptive person I know. Hahah. I'm glad we chose Humpy's.

Apparently *THE* place to eat at when in Alaska and everything was very sub par. Restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. Started off with the crab cake nuggets and they were good, but nothing extraordinary. For main I got the “famous” halibut fish and chips and my companion got the grilled salmon plate over potatoes. For fish and chips, these were actually not the best I’ve had and the halibut did not impress. The side of fries it comes with were more appetizing than the fish itself. They give one small cup of tartar sauce which is not enough for all the pieces you get so they will charge you $1 for every additional cup of tartar. As for the salmon, it was fresh but over cooked and dry. Service was average. We went for a late lunch and missed the sold out oysters.

I visited this Grill house in Anchorage, Alaska and ordered a Reindeer Hamburger. It’s delicious. It’s my first time to eat reindeer meat. And the place was packed with people when I arrived. The ambience is not that electrifying but the service is great. My order arrived within 5 minutes. However, both washrooms for men and women were out of order which was an inconvenience for me.

A GREAT place for local flavors and funky atmosphere. Express train to flavor town! Salmon spread and king crab we top notch. Reindeer burger rocked and the halibut sandwich made Momma smile. Great selection of beer with a good local options.

We went on a Sunday night around 7:30 p.m., live band started at 8:00 p.m. and it was really fun. Good vibe, good food, prices are reasonable for the quality. There was quite a bit of a wait for our food other than that we had a great experience.

Good table service, but bad attitude at front desk that she only cares her makeup. You still need to wait more than ten minutes even you have reservation, please don’t arrive earlier. We have reservation at 5:30 pm, and arrived around 5 pm. We have a table around 5:45 pm. Food is okay. Scallop is good, but crab with béarnaise sauce is not worth to try. The halibut is too easy for the decoration, no seasoning and messy with bottom rice. I actually don’t understand why they have high raking. We waited dishes for a long time with understanding because the server told us that they don’t expect would have so much customers. Thus, their staff are not enough. If there is no good table server, I would only leave one star.

This place was very underwhelming to me. I came at late lunch hour (2pm) on a Wednesday. They weren’t busy yet I waited 15 minutes to get sat while the hostess took phone calls before the customer standing in front of her. The table was nice and the views were great. I ordered a bowl of chowder which was admittedly delicious but it was also room temperature which was a tad off putting. The bread they served with the soup was delicious. I had the almond crusted scallops as an entree. They were perfectly cooked but simultaneously very forgettable. There wasn’t much flavor to them and the sauce was very mild; in my opinion not a great pair. The asparagus medley was good but the potatoes beneath again, very forgettable. There’s much better places to eat in the city but the view here is among the best. My server Marylou was a sweetheart - my biggest demerits are for the hostess, lukewarm soup and super okay entree. When you're paying $50 a person for lunch, you should leave with a smile on your face.

This place was absolutely amazing I mean it is hard to even find the words to describe the sheer quality. They have a great happy hour with prices ranging from $4-$10 and the food is phenomenal. The prime rib tacos literally melt in your mouth! I wish the crab and artichoke dip had spinach as well but it was still delicious. The view of the water is so relaxing and the service is excellent! The atmosphere is beautiful when you walk inside, the outside doesn’t do it justice. They also offer drinks specials along with food and the menu is huge. I can’t wait to return to try the dinner menu as well.

We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant twice. Both times the service was excellent. We Ordered king crab and fettuccine the first night and Wagyu filet and prime rib the second night. Portions were great and food tasted terrific. Crab was cooked perfectly

We went here for my birthday as I have heard so many times that this is one of the best restaurants in town. Honestly, I was not that impressed. The calamari, bread, crab stuffed halibut, hamburger, and drinks were pretty good. Good, but not great. The prime rib was stringy, bordering on inedible, the crab and artichoke dip was barely warm, the pasta was overcooked, etc. I was really expecting more from this place, especiallyfor the price. The service was good and there was a free piece of cake for my birthday so.. there's that anyway. I would have given 2 stars but the waitress really was nice and tried to make it a special night. I won't be back unless someone else is paying. There are just too many restaurants downtown that have better food and better prices.

My first time visiting Anchorage and I came here for my birthday. The cocktails are excellent, but a bit pricey. The French onion soup is delicious. Our waiter Josh was great and gave good dish recommendations. My husband got the halibut cheeks which were very tasty. I’m taking away a star because the lead hostess was kind of rude. I chose this restaurant because I heard it had a great view of the water, but we were originally seated at a table where I couldn’t see out the window at all. We asked the lead hostess if we could wait for a different table or to even sit at the bar where there were empty seats because it was a special occasion (there were several other parties waiting and one of them even offered to take the table from us) and she got a bit snippy. The other hostess was very nice however and was able to quickly find another table.

This place is absolutely amazing. We came early in the day to make reservations, our option was for 5:15pm. As we were arriving before 6pm, parking is paid around the area. We told to the host that we wanted to seat by the window, they will make an effort to seat you there, as everyone requests this very often. The place is always full so you NEED To make a reservation in advance. The quality of the food is INCREDIBLE, so tasty and well maid. Of course, we ate seafood and it was so yummy. We ask the entree's to go as we were full with the salad and the appetizer platter, which I think is a great option, so you can taste a lot of dishes in one plate. The artichoke and crab dip is out of this world. I've never tried a dip like this, it was WOW. Please ask for it, you will thank me later. The atmosphere is amazing, and of course the view to the ocean is very peaceful. Def, I will visit again this amazing restaurant ♥️

Bread and butter was really good. From there it was downhill though. My 17-dollar-burger was greasy and way too salty. The chicken was thin and dry. The white cheddar Mac and Cheese was sent back because noodles were too hard. I've had better side salads at gas stations. Might be time for a menu change, just my opinion though. Atmosphere was very nice.

I visited with a group of 6 in early June and was very pleased by my group's meal here. I was concerned after reading other negative reviews but am glad we gave it a shot. Plus, we were able to get a gorgeous water view table that did not disappoint! The dishes were delicious and cooked perfectly. The Warm Brie was delicious and lasted seconds on our table before we devoured it. I ordered the Halibut, which came with rice and seasonal vegetables. The Halibut was cooked perfectly! It was light and flaky, full of flavor, and not fishy at all. The vegetables were a nice complement and balanced the meal well. I ordered the Red Velvet Bread Pudding and was blown away. I'm not a red velvet fan, and this may have made me a convert. It was rich and decadent, with the melting Vanilla ice cream oozing into the dish. I would fly back to Alaska just to have this dessert again. I was quite pleased with the service! Our server was attentive and flexible as we waited for a final guest in our party who later canceled. She was inviting and answered all our questions thoroughly. She also did not lead us astray in ordering dessert. Overall, it was what I would expect from a higher-end restaurant experience. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit odd. It feels like you're walking into an office building, but eventually, you arrive at the historic venue. As you enter you're blown away by the sweeping views of the water and a beautiful bar to your right. I would love to come back and grab a drink at the bar while looking out over the water.

I definitely recommend this restaurant for sure. It's a little pricey but great for a special occasion. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is my husband's Salmon was pretty dry and they served it without the sauce he had to ask for it. He ordered the almond encrusted scallops as well and they were not the best. From a man that absolutely loves scallops i was very surprised. My meal however was fabulous 👌. The bread and appetizer came but within minutes of our entree so the timing was a bit off but they were very busy so i get it. Our waitress was very sweet. The key lime pie was great and we come from Florida! This was my birthday dinner and they did not disappoint.

Had dinner with a small group. Service was excellent, view was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The Halibut Cheeks were recommended and did not disappoint. Flaky and flavorful. Oysters, salad, key lime pie...everything was amazing! Be sure and reserve your table early so you don't miss out.

My friends and I had a spectacular unexpectedly fine dining here the other day after our awesome bike ride along the coast here. We wanted to try local seafood our last evening in Anchorage and GPS sent us directly here. Bike rack outside restaurant was super helpful and accommodating. We got seated immediately and asked for the window and graciously accomodated us!!! We received excellent service from "Rosie" ( I'm so sorry if I forgot her name possibly Rubie) She was super helpful in suggestions even for local drinks to enjoy!! Desert was amazing also...( See enclosed photos!!) I cannot say more wonderful things...just incredible!!

OMG! Can you say amazing! We had a fabulous evening at Orso! We started our meal with an antipasto appetizer paired with a delicious cab. Next, our meal was suburb followed by a trio of wonderful desserts. What made our experience even better was our friendly, efficient waitress, Rachel. She made our last evening in Anchorage memorable. Her friendly demeanor was appreciated.

The food was delicious. The waitress was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. She offered great suggestions. The wine was excellent.

I was only here for a quick stop before going to the next spot and I am sure glad I did! The crab cakes are made with King crab and they are delicious! The presentation was beautiful and the servers are experts on the menu. I love that they work as a team and you feel taken care of the entire time! The server suggested I try a special wine called garganega and it was smooth, light, and tasty. I will definitely be returning to try some more menu items!

Recently reopened. Revamped menu and cocktail list. The cocktails were awesome and creative. The food was good as well and I think they should have a sucessful opening. The chamomile Collins was awesome and I've been wanting to go back for drinks ever since!

Stopped for early dinner before super early flight back to TX tomorrow morning. Calamari appetizer and clam chowder was good. King Crab legs were very good with all the sides. Hubby had the Salmon and enjoyed it as well. Would recommend. Would return to eat here again.

I had heard good things about this place, but when I walked in and saw the bar it was fire. What a cool, cozy place! It was my first time, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They had some great suggestions after asking a lot of questions and it was perfect. We had some kids too, so they jumped right on it! They took the kids orders and they had food in minutes! Great job guys. That made everything easier for us to take our time ordering and taking our time to talk. Dr. Dachowski recommended ORSO even though we had planned on going someplace else and I'm so glad he did. It was amazing and it was a great way to end the perfect day. Thank you ORSO! We will be back for sure.

Seafood gemelli and petite fillet mignon meals were incredible. Lots of flavor and the seafood was cooked well. Salad with couscous, pears and walnuts was delicious. One of the better restaurants we’ve been to here in Anchorage

Easily accessible from the Main Road. Paid Parking is available on the street or lots. The restaurant was clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms are available. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant has something for everyone and the food was cooked as ordered and the portions were ample. Our Server David was Great. The Beverage list was extensive and again something for everyone. In the area give them a visit.

Food was good, and service was outstanding! Good wine selection and cozy atmosphere! Couldn't eat the plate though because a very long human hair was woven into the food, like most places in AK lol

Delicious food and awesome service!! Didn't see a lot of vegetarian mains on the menu but they were very accommodating and were willing to pretty much create whatever kinda pasta we wanted with whatever sauce we wanted. We ordered some appetizers and they were great and then asked for an off-menu eggplant parmesan with mushrooms with low expectations but it was amazing!! Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at 9pm so, we were unable to try the desserts we wanted. Shout-out to our server, Chelsea, who was super friendly and added to our already amazing dining experience.

A special staple every time I'm in town. The NY strip and ossobuco are devine. Food is always consistently amazing and fresh, and the service is phenomenal, and considering that the price is very fair. (Though the food presentation is completely different every time lol). Good public parking options nearby

Just stopped in for a drink and small bite to eat. Had the anti-pasta. It was very tasty. Other people's dishes looked and smelled excellent. Give this place a try!
