We climbed up at 10 am. It was about a 15-20-minute walk, 170 m high up. Even then, it was already hot but still manageable. At 10.30 there was a guided tour in English, it was worth taking the tour. Only 3 of us took part in the tour, which was 1 hour long and free. Then, we walked around and took some photos. It was a nice way to find out more about the history of Alicante.

Lift is open. €2.70 to go up. FREE to come down. We walked up and got the lift down. FREE to walk around the castle with stunning views and cute little cafés.

Great experience , you can use the lift from seaside to get in but the best option for active peoples is to get there on your own . Great place to visit. Nice views amd snack bar . Entrance is free.

To be honest I went up for the view and it didn’t disappoint me. If you’re in Alicante it a must visit. Pro tip, go there late afternoon to avoid the big queues for the lift.

It's great that this lift exists. Without that we would be unable to go to the castle as we were with two little kids. The drawback is that there is only one lift and the trip takes a while so there are queues. Beside that it's great. Nevertheless if you can I would suggest you going by foot as it seemed like a nice trip with nice views and surroundings.

The castle lift is great, as are the staff. However, there are no leaflets giving the history of the castle, but there are a few plaques here and there. It seems that the views from the castle are the main feature. They are stunning. There are no facilities for those with limited mobility once you leave the lift. I still take all my visitors here tho.

We walked through Alicante and entered via a steep walkway at the rear of castle (main entrance is opposite beach via a lift and tunnel) that had some houses with pretty garden pot arrangements, walk was fairly difficult but views are good, good castle to walk & on our visit food and other stalls with some street entertainment, toilets and a lovely viewing cafe.

A great chance to see some of the terracotta warriors up close while they are on loan to the museum. A great experience and an English speaking guide ensure you get the most from the day. A must see while you can.

Great day out and the museum is very well laid out. We went for the Chinese Terracotta Warrior exhibition. That was also good but we expected more... Maybe a 3d visual showing the warriors as found... Travel wise we went on the tram...

This museum is amazing! Telling the story of the history of Alicante, the museum exhibits represent a time span of thousands of years. The first settlements in the Alicante area were made by Iberian tribes. Since then the area has been inhabited successively by Greeks, Romans, Muslims, and Christians. The Alicante Archaeological Museum is a modern museum that utilizes a lot of audio-visual effects - which really adds to the experience! Admission was only 3 Euros a person- a bargain to be sure. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe on site, and clean restrooms. It's very easy to navigate the exhibits without a lot of walking that is typically related to visiting a museum. The museum won the European Museum of the Year Award in 2004, and this is a well deserved recognition.

We went to the musem in the morning and there weren't many people yet. Had a wonderful time, whoever designed this experience really knew what they were doing. Loved the colours, the projections and overall atmosphere. Tickets are purchased in a different building than the musem and there is also a restaurant and gift shop.

We went on a Friday evening when the museum had free entry. We waited for 25 minutes to enter. You can explore the whole museum within 30 minutes, there's not much to see there. This time they had exhibition about Chinese history. It was not my cup of tea.

We went specifically for the terracotta warriors exhibit. We were able to book an English speaking tour for one hour. The guide did a decent job. The exhibit had incredibly strict security and you couldn't navigate the exhibition at your own pace without a guide. As someone with a disability, I found this hard. I needed a seat which wasn't available until the end and prolonged standing was difficult. I don't really understand why you had to be with a guide all the time considering there were staff in each room to ensure all was well. The warriors themselves were amazing, great info on each exhibit piece in multiple languages.

Excellent museum! Huge halls with different historical eras of Alicante. Great video and sound installations. Must visit! Adult ticket 5€, kid 3€

3 euros to visit. A bargain for such an immaculate museum. Managed to catch the last few weeks of the Gladiator exhibition. I don't want to ruin the items on display so just added a few photos. Really is worth a visit. We only walked past by chance. Go.

Visited to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibition. Excellent guided tour with very good spoken English. Before our timed tour slot we looked around the other permanent exhibits covering Spain from prehistoric time to the late 20th century. A very interesting day out.

I wasn't expecting to find such a gem in Alicante. The Museum is really great, well made, clean, great staff, and they put a tremendous amount of efforts to make it a super experience. It is immersive and interactive, every detail is well thought, highly recommend it.

This is a very long beach which is therefore rarely busy. The area is one with few foreign tourists but this means it can be quiet in terms of activities. There are quite a few local restaurants and shops dotted around the area. The location will suit people who enjoy walking, cycling or watersports.

One of the best beaches in Alicante. Super clean water (no seaweed or algae), no annoying sellers, just fine sand. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Would definitely come again! 💯

Fabulous beach, soft golden sand. Gently shelving sea, had a nice swim. Would be good for kids I think. Sun beds and umbrella 10 euros per person. Maybe a bit steep? We spent all day there though do felt it was worth it.

The beach itself is very wide and super long. You can walk all along. You will find beach volley and other amenities. However, I didn't like the high rise buildings they go along the beach

great beach, wide and sandy. the water is terrible, polluted with palm trees and disgusting ground. there is too shallow for swimming by the shore, so unfortunately you have to go deeper and walk over the algae.

Extensive beach outside Alicante, easily reachable by bus (21/22) or tram (LINE 5, stops Av. Benidorm or Plaça de la Corunya) it is stunningly beautiful and is for good living. The high end part is Cabo de las Huertas, which is mainly residential but has a lot less restaurants. The mid part has a lot more in terms of shops/ amenities. For Spanish people it is a second residence place and not so far very cosmopolitan. That being said, we have adapted well to the local way of life.

Very nice beach 🏝️ good place to walk and enjoy the wonderful view. Lots of places to do daily training like running or just walk along the beach or socialize with friends or get know other people. Some others come here to play beach volleyball. There are lots of amenities along the beach to help people get relaxed and enjoy their time, such as places to sit, wash hands or feet, signs that help you find your way and also lifeguards.

Very Well maintained and Big beach, with shallow and clear water. Due to its size people can spread out and you don't feel its over crowded. Also, you don't have beach sellers every other minute. All fine sand, so little to no snorkeling opportunities (no rocks nor seaweed). Has lots of volleyball fileds & nets for free. Toilets, showers, changing cabins, shade zones, playgrounds and parking spaces along the way. Lots of restaurants on the beach or the streets parallel to it. One of if not the best beach of the country. If you are in the city and like to go to the beach, should definetly try it out.

Massive beach, plenty of parking close by. The promenade is lovely and there are lots of places for snacks and drinks. There was alot of dead wood at the shore line but it's a nice sandy beach and shallow sea safe for kids.

Very nice museum, if you are a sailor or otherwise follow the ocean race. It was free entrence when I was there, so no harm in checking it out. Looking forward to see the Alicante Start in january 23.

A lot to see in a relatively small museum. Many audiovisuals and informative posters. Interactive navigation and steering exhibits are great for children ( and adults!) The yacht outside is interesting, especially as you can go on board and into the yacht to see how the sailors live!

A nice place to visit and pass an hour. Really niche free attraction with some displays and installations relating to round the world ocean sailing.

Very interesting review of the ocean race and simple information on what is required of racers and yachts. A tribute video is currently being screened by the team for a team member lost overboard.

It had interactive elements that my children enjoyed. The simulator was being used by school children, and when it was free, it was explained that it was only open to the general public at weekends, which seemed a bit unfair given the museum was quiet and it wouldn't take any effort to allow 2 children to have a go. I think it's a fine place to attend if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Amazing, interactive&modern museum so you have to be sure to plan a bit of time to listen, watch&read all the interesting stories and facts about The Ocean Race. I can highly recommend it to families with kids and people who love sea sports.

Lovely little museum , really great staff that were very welcoming and seemed down to earth. Only knocked a star off as it was a bit smaller than expected and some interactive exhibits weren't working. But interesting to learn about sea racing and was a nice set up. Has a cinema screen type area and a pricy gift shop. Free entry however.

Disappointing. Lot of interactive stuff that didn’t work. Cherry on top is the yacht simulator with broken sail lever. Probably would be great experience if all things were working properly. Price - it’s free and it’s worth it. I was also trying to book sightseeing of Brasil 1 yacht and The Ride simulator - filled the webform and - surprise - no response from museum staff! The one star is more that they deserved. I was expecting Volvo, I’ve seen Volga.

Gorgeous views straight out into forever. Great beach. Nice places to eat and just minutes from shopping and restaurants along the walk. Make sure to go there and see all the incredible trees just past the walk. During the summer, the beach is crowded so go early to grab your spot.

In the heart of Alicante lies this beautiful white sand beach. No need to go any further. Loads of places to place your blanket or sit under an umbrella. Playa del Postiguet is beautiful with the castle and old town as a backdrop. Loads of places to eat. In the summer I am sure it will get crowded. But in October loads of places for yourself.

Fantastic popular beach so clean so good part of the sea to swim in. The beach kept clean thanks to the ladies and gentlemen that clean it regularly despite being very busy. Also there are a lot of restaurants and cafés to go to when hungry or to drink including Montaditos 100 Cein. The most amazing we have seen on the beach 🏖 is the police reguating the beach to fight people selling drugs to young people going on holiday. This is the first time we seen in Spain despite drugs usually bad ones on sale without anyone control. Hope all Spain will copy Alicante before more and more young people have their life destroyed by drugs traffickers

We enjoyed walking down this beach! Beautiful but definitely was very crowded and it was just a nice day in the off season, can't imagine in the summer. We did not go in the water but there was a lot of people who seemed to be enjoying. Definitely would plan a beach day next time I was here.

For an island person who’s used to tropical beaches, I’ve really enjoyed our time in Alicante and at Playa del Postiguet. The coast is a stretch of white fine sand and the sea is just the right temperature during summer. They have some changing rooms which I personally don’t recommend. The line gets long and the wait can take time. There are fresh water pump stations situated at the different entrances. They also rent some beach lounge space but you have to pay in cash, 18€. But better check if your hotel/hostel provides some beach equipments or just bring a beach towel and setup.

Such a relaxing and fun beach with a great atmosphere filled with both locals and tourists! Lots of space to play beach volleyball, sit under umbrellas or walk along the boardwalk. Multiple bars and lounges along the boardwalk to get ur drink or food fix.

Good beach in the centre of Alicante. However, it loses a star because of how crowded it is when it’s hot. In the evening it’s almost empty some days. This is normal for Spain in the summer season, I went in May. Even walking further down the beach there are still masses of people. Water isn’t the nicest Spain has, with some algae and seaweed, but I try not to complain too much. It’s nice to swim in though to cool down, waves are small and it’s lifeguarded so safe for kids. There’s a promenade, shops, bars, restaurants. Sometimes people will try and sell massages or sangrias but not too often and persistently so not too much to complain about. Overall I would come back! But if you like calm places to relax with fewer people or not so busy and loud, this beach isn’t the place for you.

This was my first impression but boy oh boy did it go downhill after this; Wow. Just wow. Amazing service, fabulous food and a splendid time. Everything here is good (though not my favorite Bravas) - just chat with the staff whether you speak Spanish or not, they are the most lovely people in all of Alicante First evening was amazing. Second evening the food was great but the atmosphere was sad (Wednesday), the waiter was unfriendly and they charged us 40 euro for 4 shrimps because of a strike. Maybe mention that when ordering… Huge disappointment. Unfortunately seemed like a Tourist trap on second visit- added items to the bill that were not served . When we complained they added 70€ to the bill in another “mistake”. Glasses and cutlery was dirty. Food is good therefore 3 stars but would not recommend.

Not sure what the excitement is about. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes? We had the mussels with red curry, meatballs, pig's trotters and beef with mushrooms and foie. The mussels were delicious but the curry flavor was too strong, it overpowered the flavor of the mussels, therefore it wasn't balanced. The meatballs were bland. The pig's trotters were inedible. Nothing but fat. We took it home for our dogs. The beef was chewy and it was drowning in sauce. The dessert that was highly recommended, cream puff pastry and caramel sauce, was pure sugar. Maybe good for kids for a sugar high. The service and atmosphere is great though.

One of the most DISAPPOINTING food experiences we've had. 28€ (per person) for a completely tasteless arroz/paella. The rice was super dry and topped with the tiniest portion of fish you've ever seen. Except for 3 tiny prawns per person the paella didn't include any other seafood. Take a look at the picture and ask yourself if you think it's worth the price and keep in mind that the taste is way below average. Starters were ok, but nothing special. Service was chaotic and we got the wrong amount of croquettes. Do yourself a favour and go to any other place instead of this overpriced, overhyped restaurant.

Famous restaurant in Alicante where you shouldn’t miss its lively bar counter, always crowdy and noisy. No booking allowed. Just come in and wait your turn that sometimes will take a while. Excellent product, specially seafood but also jam, rices and even meat. Extensive wine list, more affordable than the options by the glass. Not cheap at all but a must when in town. The owners have other options in the city as Piripi and Populi bistró.

We had a wonderful dinner at Nou Manolin. Everything was delicious and our server Alicia took very good care of us. Thank you to the servers and cooks for making our dinner a great experience.

Great food, exceptional service and nice atmosphere. Best Russian salad I’ve had in Spain, croquettes and squid were perfect as well. Great wine choice. I suggest to sit by the bar.

Excellent experience. Came here for quick snack however burrata was so great prepared I ordered burger. Buns alone and meat with fries aside. Nothing special, simple - first impression until I bit. Service, food, vibe - strongly recommend!

Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic food and great service. By far the best tapas restaurant I've been to. I've been here three times, and it's not the last. I recommend standing in line before they open at 8.15 PM to get seats at the bar.

Fresh hot food and awesome location where the street is very quiet. A waiter always at the front to seat you. Good inside room temperature, and very good service. Not too fast, not too slow, but just right. Great prices and food. Appetizers are great and give your stomach some freedom. We really enjoyed our first time there and as soon as we got our appetizers we just knew we had found a perfect place to stay and enjoy eating during the night. Food was hot and fresh, and right after your finished with the first meal. Waiters are professional and read your emotions. Have good senses of humor. Recommend for kids and family dinners. In cases of soft and juicy meat needs, go for the sirloin, perfect for kids and grownups and also comes with a side of fries that are freshly cut and with potato skin, witch makes it extra crispy. Everything is original and has no sauce or whatsoever. Good kitchen view which allows you to see how they are making the meat on the grill. Highly recommend for any types of Spain foods like Paella, meats, seafood, and traditional salads. The perfect place for anything.

Who wants to eat this? After cutting off the fat, we had almost no meat left. Everything was charged extra, bread, fries, ..... We feel terribly cheated.

Having decided so eat so quality meat we looked at many reviews sights and decided to visit Bodeguita 1999 and how happy were we👍 Served by Ricardo who was welcoming, very cheerful, enthusiastic & about everything meat. Ricardo guided us towards the RibEye & boys it was delicious the chefs even cooked my half rare & my partners half was done medium but even before we had the main course we had a starter of cheeses & cold meats that were also outstanding in taste and quality. All in all a delicious mouth watering evening with awesome service & humor throughout. We loved it and would seriously recommend. Great price for a great product.

Great food and excellent service! All the dishes were tasty, especially the paella. Also, to highlight the staff which makes you feel very comfortable during the lunch. Last but not least, I’d remark that this restaurant is a great value for money from my POV.

Croquetas and eggplant were amazing. The paella was good. The atmosphere and service were wonderful. We didn’t try the meat, but we would definitely go back.

Walked by this place the other day and it looked really cosy. I saw that they offered many types of "arroz" so we went for a proper valencian paella the next day ! So much garniture, sea food and excellent flavour (note that you must be minimum 2 to order a plate, as in most places). One of my best paellas ever. Gracias Jesús for the excellent service, we'd love to come again!

A group of 7 of us had an amazing meal at this restaurant. We shared tapas to start, then split a mixed paella, rib eye steak and sirloin for main. We drank the 'D-12' red wine and sangria by the litre. Would happily return if we were back in the area and celebrating a special occasion.

Ordered a medium rare sirloin. It was amazingly tender. Good choice of red wines. White sangria also good. Make a reservation in advance and enjoy.

Good service, great Italian food and nice interior. Very satisfied with this visit. We had bruscetta, burrata and pizza.

Had a top notch lasagne here. Firm pasta with a meaty sauce and then lots of tomato round the edge. Loads of cheese. Loved it. EUR12.50. Went great with garlic bread to dip in the sauce. Very delicious and piping hot. Nice house white wine too. Service good and quick even when the restaurant was busy. Seating outside and in.

Excellent food with real and fresh ingredients. If they use a pepper to indicate spice you can be sure it’s there. The lady serving our table was super friendly and hospitable. We will definitely go there again

Tangliatelle seafood pasta came out cold, bland. Had to use a lot of salt. For £15 it was not worth it. Sangria was nice tho

the food is ok, but you'll be waiting for too long. We saw only 2 waiters for all!! fulled restaurant. even to pay the bill we needed to look up for somebody to pay. Obviously, that was the first and the last time there 🤷🏻‍♀️ lo siento mucho

The gentleman serving today was such a lovely fella. Absolutely excellent service from him and the ladies involve 5* Service *2 Salads for starter - Nice *Spinach ravioli - Very nice *Chicken pizza 5* Superb, base was exceptional. *Daughter ordered the Carbonara pizza with truffle which tasted way too salty and she couldn't eat. I tried it and found it inedible but could be personal taste. I'd return for sure as the service and my pizza and the rest of the food was excellent. Special thanks to the fella serving on 👍

This place has a great reputation among tourist and for a good reason! It’s super cheap, the staff is very nice and fun and the food delicious. I tried so many small dishes. Even the simple chicken wings tasted amazing. The seafood tapas they offer are excellent so those were my favourite. I had two glasses of Sangria which was also amazing. 1,50€ per tapas is a great deal! Highly recommend

Great selections of pintxos at reasonable price! Freshly cooked and goes away before they come to your table. Love the atmosphere Fried white bait and squids should not be missed. Have went there twice.

Fast efficient service is what you can expect here. The beers, the small tapas and the bill all come out with speed. Service is functional and all you need. Tapas are served by the waiters walking around with variations of tapas on offer. I've had a fair few and enjoyed every single visit here. My favourite is their fried baby squid on toast. At €0.80 for a small beer and €1.50 each tapa plate, what could go wrong. Just check the pictures and you decide. Make it a stop when you're in Alicante.

Great little gem, went there after reading reviews and not disappointed. Staff were entertaining and fast serving food. Great prices and selection of tapas. A tray of food served on small wooden blocks comes out and you pick which ones you want. And they keep coming and making you wonder what is coming next! Obviously not many vegetarian (cheese, fries, coleslaw) options, but plenty of fish and meat. And most dishes are deep fried 😋 or on a slice of bread. Recommended!

Great way to sample a variety of delicious tapas. No menu and you just pick the dishes you like when they bring them around. At €1.50 a dish, it's excellent value for the good quality and variety offered. Service is efficient and friendly too. Highly recommend you visit if you're in the area.

I like the style but one price for all tapas is not completely fair. Some aren't worth 2€ per. Actually most are not. Total bill gets high after spending one hour here. Smarter to just buy a dinner elsewhere but anyway a nice bar to visit and I enjoyed it

Simple but good. A waitress will pass with a tray with tapas, you pick what you want. In the end they count the small wooden plates and glasses on your table and your bill is set. Small tap beer is €0.90, each plate €1.10. Good fun, good tapas

This place is great, firstly really nice friendly staff who didn't make our language barrier and made us feel welcome. We got a selection of tapas and then got some more as they brought items around. It's fun and informal and the food is great quality for the price.

Great food and amazing service. Would give this 10 stars if I could. The menu was only in Spanish but our waiter went above and beyond to communicate with us in English. It was very busy with locals coming in and waiting but we luckily turned up just at opening when there was a queue of locals already waiting outside. The food looked amazingly fresh and tasted even better. I’ve had standard coquettes before but this place served the best I’ve ever had! The seafood was so fresh and cooked to order. Even the beer was chilled and poured to perfection. To finish off we were served one of the smoothest cafe con leche and chocolates, which was a nice way to end lunch. Would definitely come again and also work on my Spanish to be able to experience the rest of the extensive menu.

We were recommended this restaurant from our hotel which it seems many people had (AC).. we were very happy with the meal and would recommend it to anyone considering. We had the prawn and red mullet paella and the fried calamari. The paella was shown to us and then divided into plates, my photo is of it plated. Very happy, very full! Our waiter seemed to be new (tattoo on his neck) did a great job!!

Don’t get me wrong the FOOD in this place was stunning, amazing. Super tasty!!! But the staff OMG I asked for recommendations and the waiter was so out of line, sometimes rude, sometimes making unnecessary jokes. I felt bad for being an foreigner. He left me holding the menu for more than 20 min and when I asked for the most popular dishes he said: you are holding the menu (in Spanish) for more than 20 min and you don’t know what you want?! Sorry but this was out of line. You don’t treat costumers like this. Anyway I hope you can have a better experience! The food is unreal!

I came several times, always same quality standard: TOP; service excellent and probably best place for trying "arroces" in Alicante. Im giving 4/5 just because its value for price. Just 2-3Y ago was 30% less... Nowadays I think that its a bit pricey. In any case super recommendable!

We were SHOCKED when the bill arrived. We ordered 2 Langoustine for lunch and it cost 25.00 EACH! Food was alright but not worth the price.

Well, where do i start. This place was recommended by our AC Marriott hotel receptionist Luisa. The moment we walked in we were captured by welcoming staff. Food choices and quality is just simply amazing. Please see the menu, instead of me overwhelmingly going over the details. Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! We will be definitely back!!
